I truly appreciate the quality of ingredients that Sweetie Pies is known for, which is why I was especially disappointed with the cake we purchased this past Sunday. Despite using the sharpest knives, we were unable to cut even a single clean slice without the icing crumbling and creating a mess. I love everything here, except the higher prices!
I thought $50+ for a 6" birthday cake was way too high, however I really appreciate the quality and ingredients that went in to it.
The cake was so rich and fulfilling that it's smallish size was plenty for 6 people with leftovers.
You could taste that everything was made with real sugar and butter!
Not the typical hydrogenated oil, and corn syrup genocide that seems to predominate our so called safe FDA/USDA approved foods.
Only the little sugary decoration plate and the gel they used for the "Happy birthday Katie" was questionable.
They didn't charge extra for that and I would suggest not eating it, though I am sure it was technically edible.
The staff was very helpful on the phone and at the bakery, they seem to have some lunch stuff too, but if it is a real bakery you want, look no further.
This place is awesome, as long as you aren't low income.
I was going to complain about the high price and small cake.
After my experience, I have to say that I will still come back for the quality, but not very often unless I make a lot more money.
All in all, the enjoyment of the cake by everyone made it worthwhile.

This bakery is right next to the Oxbow Public Market. Went in to grab a pastry and ended up getting a cheese danish. Couldn’t leave without getting a cold brew so ended up ordering one. You have to wait outside while they make your drink and they’ll call your name once ready. The cold brew went well with the cheese danish which was also delicious. Stopped by this coffee shop before heading out of Napa Valley. It’s inside of the Oxbow Public Market. I got the Day Off in Kyoto (with espresso) since it was one of their specials. I love hojicha so I had to get it, and it was delicious! Loved all the flavors and you can definitely taste the hojicha with a hint of vanilla bean. Didn’t get to try their other specials but would love to next time I visit.

Had the hottie latte which was as promised. Not sure I’d order it again but I did enjoy it. The barista and service were a bit slow but it seemed more in the spirit of careful and deliberate work than anything else. We got a 8oz nitro cold brew. It is quite smooth not bad. They are a famous coffee roaster after all. The location is inside Oxbow Public Market and the space is open and clean.
However, service is quite bad. Staff was quite indifferent and unwelcoming.. it really kills the coffee experience.. Considering the cold brew plus tip is $6.5 we are definitely not expecting bad service at such a fine price point.
I was very excited to try this place out but left with a bad taste in my mouth (emotionally). There are other coffee options that are more fairly priced and better service in the area so I don’t think I would recommend to anyone or come back myself. Approach with caution.

I live in Napa but just tried Kara’s for the 1st time. I am always happy for vegan options as they are oddly hard to find here. We split the one vegan option which was chocolate/chocolate. The cake part was moist and light. I didn’t love the flavor though. The frosting on the other hand was a hard rock on top. I suggested Kara's because years ago, I was a huge fan and LOVED the cupcakes and unfortunately the only local shop in Walnut Creek shut down. I went to try the boba shop next door and the smell of this panaderia/bakery brought me to the door. It smelled so good outside. It's hard to see if you drive by but you'll see a small little chef statue outside the door. They only allow 4 people at a time and only accept cash. The staff is kind. I’d love to be able to give a taste review however, sadly our 3rd time trying to visit this place since relocating here and everytime they are closed significantly before listed closing time. Today I got there 35 mins before listed closing and already saw the doors being locked and open sign turned off. It was flavorless and tasted like milky coffee. I realized the lavender syrup was at the bottom and stirred it up...the syrup had a really bad after taste. Husband ordered the pumpkin spice latte and he said it didn't taste pumpkiny (Yessss, that's a word lol) at all. Really wanted to try the macaroons but at $3 each... they were a bit pricey for such a small treat.

Charming bakery/cafe right in downtown Napa across from the courthouse. They have matcha and ube specialty croissants and make a pork belly adobo sandwich which is so rich and filling it deepened my love for Paris and the Phillipines. Honestly sad I didnt take a photo, but I will next time. Just shows how eager we were to split the sandwich.
Macaroni are nice, flaverful, and light. Coffee menu and execution is preferred to standard starbucks orders. They have limited seating inside so this isn't really for a big group but you can do takeout and maybe even picnic at the park close by if you want.

Don’t waste your time or money here for coffee. Today was my 2nd visit for a cortado and even worse than the first. No coffee notes or crema. Was served in less than 1 minute which makes me think it was regular coffee - just more bitter. The pork adobo empanada, a favorite of mine, was barely heated and still cold inside despite my request to warm up. The premises are nice with a quiet loft area that is undiscovered. Nice bright tables outside. Did not try any pastries this time though last time were average. Service is average at the counter with no welcome or good bye. Mostly tourists inside which explains a lot. Go somewhere else if you want good coffee. I’m doing that right now and will post another review shortly…..just landed at Napa Valley Coffee Roasting Company. 2 blocks away in distance but miles in quality. Some of the best employees and people i ever been around, they’re genuinely 80% of the reason i go at this point (except for the bagels). They’re incredible at what they do. Focused, driven and the work ethic is over the top while not missing a single customer. I ain’t got time here to say how welcoming and hospitable they really are, see for yourself.
On a side note, the bagels are practically kissed by Gods Grace every time, by the way. Especially the cinnamon sugar. It’s genuinely best and most cinnamon n sugar you’ll be able to find in the bay area. I’ve spent weeks comparing it to every noah’s bagels in the area, this one got documentation.
