True to its name "Kasturi" a strong positive fragrance & female name - A group of ladies run (Mahila Udyog) in the heart of Alibag is a highly recommended & must-visit restaurant for its authentic & delicious coastal Maharashtrian seafood.
The ambiance has a nice laid-back back town-like, neat & clean minimalistic decor, and feels homely.
Their staff is polite & smilingly willing to suggest a dish to try ...I had ordered Surmai thali (INR475) which was delicious and in fact in good quantity.
This place opens for lunch at 1 pm only gets filled up soon..so try to be early. Since only 1 lady attends all the guests' tables, the service takes a long time, but it's worth the wait..be ready for a minimum of 30 mins before u will be served. I didn't mind the wait the lady seemed efficient & attentive to the needs of the customer.

My farewell trip to Alibaug with my three closest friends turned into a culinary memory I’ll cherish forever—thanks to Kasturi Restaurant (Kasturi Mahila Gruh Udyog). Nestled near the beach, this women-led gem impressed us with its warmth, authenticity, and absolutely lip-smacking Konkani food.

The menu covers a good variety of options that are relatively easy on your wallet.
A bit compact on the space but the limited space if efficiently utilized.
We had ordered the mix sauce pasta and a cheese burst Farmhouse pizza.
One of the best pizzas I ever tasted. This place gives the real meaning to the phrase "cheese burst". The pasta had a very balanced taste with ample amount of cheese and olives.

We visited waves restaurant for dinner, seeing the good reviews. But it was an utter disappointment. While the ambience is good and there was less rush despite being a Sunday night, the service was very slow and somehow the waiter seemed not interested to serve.
Basic options like Pav Bhaji and South Indian were not available.
We ordered cheese balls, French fries, cheese garlic bread, pasta and pizza And everything was tasteless.

Along with that, I had a dal tadka (₹199), steam rice (₹139), 2 butter rotis (₹35 each), 4 chapatis (₹19 each), 1 masala papad (₹49), and a mineral water bottle (₹25). The place is known more for its thali and seafood options, which I noticed were being ordered a lot at other tables. The ambience is clean, spacious, and family-friendly. Went here with friends for lunch, it was a pleasant experience, it's located right at the non accessible beach with a nice view, it was heavily raining when we went so couldn't enjoy the view or the outdoors much. The food was really well prepared. All the baked items were spot on. Pizza were the best, fish, prawns and mutton was really well prepared. Biryani, Sizzler preparations and starters were great. Do try the mango/papaya salad. It was outstanding.

It was a real disappointment. Had planned this trip after reading all the rave reviews but in reality it was no were close to a luxury tent. The pictures on google are misleading.
The tent was dusty, dirty and v badly kept. Linen were worn out, cushions and pillows were dirty with spots.
The handwash had some rotten egg kinda concoction that i couldn’t dare to use( photo attached)
Hygiene was a big issue- water bottles had yellow stains.
Pool water was v hazy and highly chlorinated. Other guests also complained same.
The place looks v old, dusty and deserted..
It was not bohemian, it was discarded pieces of wooden furniture kept together with discarded bedsheets.
The place is overpriced and need lot of maintenance. All the linens/ curtains hav become off white from white and needs to be replaced. It felt like a cheap stay.
I could not imagine myself sleeping there using those blankets and sheets so we checked out same day evening despite paying for 24 hrs.
Wont recommend to anyone

Visited today had been on the list forever but somehow we always missed it. Finally made it, and it was a nice spot. They’ve got some healthy options too, which isn’t that common in Alibaug. Really liked the vegan spinach wrap and shakshuka fresh and nicely done.
Also tried the espresso
soaked French brioche and the flourless chocolate cake both were interesting and pretty good. Cappuccino hit the spot, and the juice was super refreshing. Staff were attentive polite and service was fast. Overall, a chill and good experience.

Kiki’s has such a cute and warm vibe! Me and my fiance went together, and from the moment we entered, we were welcomed by the lovely staff who took care of us with such a positive attitude and recommended some amazing dishes. We also tried their in-house Jamun & Ginger wine made by the owners themselves – it was absolutely delicious, homemade, and unique.
Towards the end, we had the chance to meet the owners, who were incredibly kind and welcoming. They even offered us to try a few more things, which made the experience feel so personal and special. We would definitely love to come back again. Such a beautiful place with great people and food!
