We stumbled upon Sima Sushi during a stop in Kingston and I’m so glad we did! The sushi was really fresh, authentic, creative and truly some of the best we’ve had so far! The fish tasted clean and high-quality, and the portions were generous (there are no tiny cuts here).

Sima is my favourite sushi restaurant to go to. Ive tried sushi from various towns across Ontario and they are by far one of the best. They have very fresh sashimi that never disappoints. The sashimi dinner sets are always wonderful, the eel is delicious and not too fishy, the salmon tataki is excellent, and the takoyaki is the perfect consistency.

Had a great time here. Loved the whole old rustic cabin feel. Felt really cozy and warm during that winter night.

The apps were half off and so worth it! We got a loaded charcuterie board for $16 and cheesy garlic bread for $7! I enjoyed the pasta, it was so rich and filling, but the only thing was the sauce got too salty and overpowered the taste of the lobster, similarly so did the creamy garlic bread. They tried but missed the mark.
It was busy but the prime rib was cool, the chicken on the chicken caesar was slightly burned and dry.
The almond encrusted shrimp had the flavour but were over done.
The roasted cauliflower was the hottest item and was done well.

Food was quite good and I would eat there again if I’m in town. However the mains were slow to arrive…..a good hour after our appetizers were finished. Full disclosure they had a large group occupying the upstairs area but with that said they were definitely under staffed in the kitchen to deal with it. Our waitress was great and was very apologetic for the long wait and the restaurant provided us free deserts to our whole table for the inconvenience.

Sakura is honestly one of the best places to eat in Kingston! The place is super clean and well-kept, and the staff are really friendly. We ordered everything through an iPad, which was actually really fun. You can order as much as you want, and the food comes out within just a few minutes — fresh, hot, and straight from the kitchen. Been going to this place since it opened when I was young. It use to be a great place. But it's seriously gone down hill and I don't know how they passed health and safety inspection. The last 2xs I've gone I've gotten sick. And the previous time I went the fish had tasted funky and not that slimy fish you expect the texture was just off. My brother got what he thought was glass in his food. My mother complained and they explained that it was a piece of the special knives they use. The guy also said that he had new kitchen staff they were seriously struggling with the rules of health and safety. They gave my brother his meal for free and said sorry. I've had enough. I will never go back. My favorite restaurant is now ruined. It's so devastating that once new people took over they ruined a wonderful place multiple times and turned it into a health and safety risk for customers. I seriously advise everyone against this place and hope they get shut down and not allowed to open a new place for these serious of life threatening issues. It's just gone too far at this point. Also if your not a small person than don't try to fit in the seats at the renovated section that use to be the fryers that cooked infront of you. It was so uncomfortable.

It’s really amazing just same as I ate locally in Cambodia year 2024. I mean of course the dishes added coconut milk which made dishes more flavorful, better smelling! I have come here multiple times and I always appreciated the price of the dishes. Nothing is too expensive and they give good portions. However, the last couple times I went the quality seemed to have lowered. Despite that I would still come here again since the food is pretty good. Decided to try this place on a whim, and I'm so glad we did. I had the most delicious Lot Cha here; the sauce was incredibly flavourful, the beef was SO tender, and the greens were so fresh. I could easily order this restaurant's Lot Cha and probably everything else on their menu every week if I were closer! I also really liked that they had a lot of vegetarian options, as well.

The restaurant offers quite a bit of choice on their menu including bento box lunches. These come with a small rice, veggie tempura, miso soup, edamame, along with your choice of a roll or sushi as an extra side. As I ordered online through the website I was only given the choice of a california roll, but they do offer spicy salmon as well if you dine in.
The food was fresh and tasted great! I got the grilled chicken as my main but there is a ton of other choices available. Before taxes and gratuity my meal was only $20. The different varieties of bento boxes have different costs of course with sashimi being the most expensive.
I would definitely order from here again and will definitely be dining in whenever I get the chance.

First of all, this is a take-out sushi place. It has a clean and simple interior decorated with quality service. Kevin, the head chef, is the face you want to see when you're hungry. There is always one other person waiting for their food with you. This place gets steady business and this is why:

This is not the best sushi I've ever had (I eat a lot of sushi) but I always go back. It consistently hits the spot and it's GOOD.
2. Service: When this place first opened, I gave it a chance. The teal paint and big windows invited me in. I ordered off the blown-up menu on the wall and was handed a neatly tied bag with "an extra hand roll for you".
That, I thought was clever (and nice). What better way to bring in business than free food. And It was the first time I ever got a free food that wasn't an apologetic back pedal. Came to this place b.c of the great reviews but was disappointed to find out they had no sashimi or sushi only rolls. They had large chunks of salmon in the display but they said they were only prioritizing rolls.
When I got my rolls I couldn't tell if the rice was stale or undercooked or possibly both. It was gummy and hard like if it sat in a fridge overnight. The rolls were messy and fell apart. The Wasabi was dry and crumbly again I think it was old. It looked dried out.

We just had a super delicious meal, courtesy of Choi's Roll and I had to write a review!
We are vegan, and we got a platter and a half of vegan rolls with various tasty combos, including a shiitake roll, pickled radish, and a veggie deluxe roll - yam, avocado, tempura, sweet tofu, cucumber.
The customer service was exceptional. From placing the order on the phone, to picking it up, we experienced the most friendly and welcoming service. They helped me strategize what to get and was really accommodating and helpful in picking menu items. (For instance, they flagged that the miso soup isn't vegan, which was much appreciated). In any case, it's our first time but DEFINITELY not the last, and very much worth the 30 minute drive into town for pickup.
The food was truly fresh tasting, which was nice, as not every sushi place tastes 100% fresh.
We also noticed that they'd included a few extra rolls, and the rolls themselves were packed full of fillings, with big chunks of buttery avocado (sometimes the avocado at other locations can be a bit lacking).
Oh, and their website was awesome and the menu clearly marked the vegan options.

I planned to bring a group of friends from out of town here since it was the only all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant in town and called ahead. However, I was greeted with a girl that couldn’t speak English and was very hostile. Its an all you can eat. Pricing is fair but the service is non existent and the food quality is quite low. Servers do not greet you with any words they just point to where you should go. They do not talk to you and just take your slip and walk away. There was so many options but ordering was made simple with an additional pre-selected menu (I always panic ordering bubble tea, but this was so easy). Both bubble teas we got were really tasty. We accidentally came in right before close but they were super kind and patient with us. The bubble tea was made quickly, we were in and out within 10 minutes or less! I ordered the salmon rolls, which were delicious and super fresh. The spring rolls were also quite tasty, with a golden and crispy exterior that provides a nice crunch without being greasy. Great value, great service, great food! One of our family favourites is sushi, especially sashimi. I found Sapporo when looking for a place that was open in Kingston on Tuesdays. Well-reviewed, I gave it a try and was very pleased with the outcome. This is now our go-to sushi shop. Love the thinner cut sashimi and variety of fish in the Sashimi Boat. Now, let me tell you this restaurant is really amazing when you want some great suzhi.
Their agedashi tofu was deep fried with a layer of sticky rice(I think). As a deep fry tofu lover, this was such a surprise and I appreciate the taxture a lot. The sauce was just the right amount of saulty and sweat and not soaking the tofu like most of the restaurant.
We ordered 3 special rolls and every single roll we had was a blast of flavour that goes so well with each other. I'm sure you won't be disappointed with any of their rolls.
The rice bowl was a great addition for our meal as well. Assorted fish are fresh and goes well with everything in the bowel. Again a blast of ocean flavours.
Overall, we ordered more than what we should including 3 special rolls, 2 nigiri, 1 tofu dish, 1 rice bowl(not poke bowl), 1 saporo cost $101. You can comfortably had a full meal with less than that. The volumes are pretty good.
Highly recommend. Worth my time and money!

I’ve ordered from Izumo a few times to try it out before doing a full review.
When I first went here they were still open for dine in and I loved how intimate the dining area was. Though it’s quite small, it’s not often busy. Since Covid they started doing takeout only. They also *usually* give a discount when you pay with cash like most sushi places. Lately they’re doing a 20% discount on cash payments.
They are a family owned business and have very kind customer service. If you’re ordering in a large group and getting one of the party trays, you’ll be paying a bit less than other sushi places in the area, however the size of their maki rolls are smaller than most places. The quality can be hit or miss, I have gone sometimes and found the fish didn’t smell as fresh or that some pieces were a bit dry unfortunately.
That being said, my most recent experience with them was positive; our order was ready on time, we got a 20% discount for paying with cash, and they packed a small container of soy sauce for each of us - we all like different levels of wasabi in our soy sauce, so this was lovely. Most of our sushi pieces tasted fresh and the maki rolls all had a unique flavour to them, which was nice.
Sushi is one of my favourite foods, I eat it at least once a week. In Kingston, I have three favourite sushi places that are hard to beat in terms of quality and taste. Therefore I don’t think I’ll be back here anytime soon for sushi. Instead I’ll return when they open indoor dining and try out their noodle dishes.

Very delicious food! We got the dinner for two, it came with pork gyozas, two ramens, and two drinks. The gyozas were fantastic! As for the Ramen, I found it quite bitter, though I think that's just my personal opinion, hence the 5 stars. The waitress was fantastic and the service was very quick! Our meals came to us in minutes!
Overall, great time, lower on the price range for a good filling meal, and the service is great!

I have been there twice since they opened in kingston. Both times the broth was sooo flavourless. I have been going to the Toronto locations for 4 years now and the food there is great so I was so excited when they opened in kingston but the kingston location is much different. The broth here is worse than tap water and the service is so terrible too.
I went again on December 12th and I can say the food has improved but the service not so much. The menu has changed. We got the beef miso and the pork original and it was tasty.
