The Buttery cancelled us last minute as they were suddenly closing down (!?) Luckily we managed to secure a room at The Woodstock Arms in time. And we are so glad!! The location is perfect for visiting Blenheim Palace and Woodstock itself is so gorgeous to visit. But The Woodstock Arms was the best unexpected surprise of all. Our room was lovely and had everything needed. The shower was good and powerful, tea and coffee making facilities and comfy bed. I had such a good nights sleep! We had dinner and breakfast in the pub below our rooms and each different staff member was just so friendly and attentive. The food was also incredible. I actually can’t stop thinking about their French Onion soup now! What started as a last minute panic when The Buttery cancelled our booking and nearly ruined our plans was a blessing in disguise as we would never have experienced The Woodstock Arms otherwise.
