First the good. The location is great, loved the mosaics in the hotel and we enjoyed being able to walk around the art district. The hotel gym was decent, could use a better (newer) bench but it had the basics. Our room had everything we needed (the bed was quite soft) and a great view of the eye across the street. This was after texting with hotel staff (a very helpful option) but surprising that they didn't just tell me about the button and chose to send maintenance. We were in room 852 on the North side of the hotel and overlooking the eye. We came back from dinner around 10 on Saturday night and were kept awake until about 1:30am. I guess Main St is where people choose to drive their cars with the music so loud it feels as though it's in your hotel room. The motorcycles and cars also like to rev their engines.... A LOT. The windows appear to be single pane and they don't keep any noise out at all. Due to the noise level, I would not recommend staying at this hotel.  Being on the 8th floor and feeling like I was in the cars that were driving on main st and blaring music 2 nights in a row was incredibly disappointing.  If this was a 2 star hotel, okay.  That is not the case.  Upgrade the windows to double or triple pane.  Your location is great, service was friendly and efficient, but one generally wants to sleep at night and that is not possible at your hotel. We even asked the front desk on our second morning if we should change rooms and were told Sunday nights were quiet. I should have listened to my gut as our Sunday night was not quiet. Although the amount of cars & motorcycles wasn't as much as on Saturday, we still heard several cars with music blaring or motorcycles reviving their engines until around 1am. This was the beginning of a long overdue vacation and birthday celebration and it did not get started on the right foot unfortunately.

Now on to the restaurant, food was great. Great service was okay but it looked like they didn't have a ton of employees for their business so we were seated for about 20 minutes before a waitress came up to us. In total we were in the restaurant for almost 2 hours, unfortunately not exaggerating. The rambler bar was great. That was the only thing that was a 10 out of 10 experience. The spa was also great. There is two parks, one for small dogs and one for large. Both are safely secured with fences, doggie bags, trash cans, water bowls and benches to sit. I did notice a warning sign for snakes in that area so heads up to look around the lake. The area is calm and full of nature. Everyone was friendly and helpful, from the valet to the front desk. They helped us figure out where to park and made the check-in process super smooth. The hotel itself is beautiful. It’s got this classic, historic vibe to it without feeling stuffy or outdated. You can tell it has a lot of history, but everything was clean, upscale and comfortable. Our room was large and the bed felt amazing after weeks of RV mattresses. The bathroom was especially nice, with a big soaking tub that I definitely took advantage of. It felt like a real escape. We had dinner at the Mansion Restaurant and it was probably one of the best meals we had in Texas. The food was delicious, service was really on point and the whole atmosphere felt relaxed but still fancy. Definitely not a cheap dinner but worth it for a special night. The pool area was quiet and felt private, like this little hidden spot in the middle of the city. I spent a morning out there just reading and relaxing. The gym was decent too. Nothing crazy but it had everything I needed to get in a proper workout. The area around the hotel is also really pretty. Turtle Creek is full of big trees, nice homes, and it felt super peaceful compared to being in the middle of downtown. We took a walk through the neighborhood and it felt safe and calm, a good spot to stretch your legs after being on the road. Probably the best part of our stay was how good the service was. Lastly, the pool service.....First, total miss is allowing day passes as this means that you could have a number of day passes that then take spots for paid guests of the hotel.  We attempted to find spots all day Saturday only to be disappointed.  Finally when we were able to get a spot at 5 PM, I asked the pool attendant if they could set up the seats (not the waiter - latin), I was told and pointed to where I could find towels to set up myself....Wow, what a miss.  Didn't make a deal of it but this would never happen at any other 5 star property.  Most pool attendants would be happy to help even if they said, "please give me a moment.....
