오타와시 캐나다 국립미술관 바로 옆쪽에 위치한 카톨릭성당. 노트르담 대성당은 캐나다의 퀘벡, 몬트리올, 그리고 오타와 등 3곳에 있다고 한다. 오타와 지역에서 가장 오래된 로만카톨릭 성당으로써, 1840년부터 무려 70여년 동안 지었다고 한다. 그리고 1890년에 캐나다의 국가 유적지로 지정되었다고 한다. 다른 성당과는 다르게 2개의 은빛으로 빛나는 첨탑을 가지고 있어 특이하게 느껴진다. 규모는 그리 큰편은 아니고 비교적 치장이 별로없는 단순한 외관이지만, 내부는 웅장한 느낌을 준다. 대리석 기둥과 파란색 바탕에 수많은 별들을 촘촘하게 그려넣은 돔 형식의 천장, 그리고 황금색의 제단은 아주 화려하고 멋지다. 내부 벽면에는 무려 200여개의 성인상이 정교하게 조각되어 있어 놀라게 된다. 외부 안내판에 적혀 있는 미사시간을 보니, 실제로 미사를 집전하고 있는 성당으로 보인다. 자세한 설명과 함께 진행하는 투어프로그램이 있다고 하고 사전예약이 필요하다. 건물 옆쪽에 비교적 넓은 노상 유료주차장도 마련되어 있다.

오타와 국립박물관 옆에 위치하고 있는 노트르담성당은 캐나다 어느 지역을 가도 한두개쯤은 자리잡고 있다. 처음에 왜이렇게 노트르담성당이 많을까 싶었는데, 뜻을 찾아보니 이해가 되었다. 노트르담은 성모마리아라는 뜻이다. 몬트리올 노트르담 성당과 비교할 순 없지만 뜻뜻함과 평안함을 주는 좋은 공간인 것 같다. 시간마다 울리는 종소리는 나의 마음까지 맑게 해주는 것 같다. 입장마감시간에 도착을 해서 석양의 노트르담까지 볼 수 있어서 너무나 좋았다. 꼭 들려보세요!!

이 멋진 구름을 보자마자 나는 깜짝 놀라 카메라를 들었는데, 다른 사람들에게는 일상인지 그저 지나쳐갔다. 그냥 길따라 걷다가 발견한 parliament Hill은 하늘부터 시작해서 갑자기 확 트인 시야를 순식간에 선물해줬다. 뭔가 그 경험부터 크게 이색적이다 느꼈고, 이 곳에 대한 인상이 순간에 좋게 뱄다. 기대 없이, 그저 길 따라 걷다 발견한 곳에서 깜짝놀랄 개방감을 주었기에 더 그랬을 수도 있지만 그 다음 날 또 방문할만큼 좋은 기억이 서려있다. *객관적으로 연속 2번은 좋고, 연속 3번은 아닌 정도!

의회 도서관쪽은 한창 공사중이라 아쉬웠으나 꺼지지않는 불과 멋진 건물 투어신청도 가능

선거기간이라 선거캠페인이 많이 열리고 있어요 전체적으로 공사중이라 가깝게 다가가기는 힘들어요 그래도 관리가 잘되어 있어 이뻐요

버스터미널에서 버스타면 금방인 것을 구글맵을 보면서 아침 일찍부터 골목을 누비며 걸었다. 한참을 걷다 보면 오래되고, 화려한 건축물들이 나온다. 오타와의 팔러먼트 힐에 위치한 국회 의사당은 오타와 뿐만 아니라 캐나다를 상징하는 제 1의 장소로 원래 건물은 1866년에 완공되었으나 1916년 2월에 일어난 화재로 소실되었다. 오타와 강을 굽어보는 석회암 절벽 위에 청동 지붕을 얹은 고딕 양식의 건물이 웅장하다. 이곳에서 바라보는 리도강변의 풍경이 한눈에 들어온다.멀리 은빛탑의 오타와 노트르담 성당도 멋스럽게 보인다. 의사당 내부는 상시 운영 중인 견학 투어도 있으니 신청하면 가이드의 안내로 내부를 관람 할 수 있으며 투어비용은 무료이다. 온김에 다 둘러 보는 것이 좋을 듯 싶다.

Lovely Gallery, they have a few European rare arts👍👍 very clean in general. It's a huge gallery, time yourself enough to see it all if you are interested in seeing everything 갤러리가 깨끗하고 조용해서 관람하기 좋고, 관리가 잘된느낌이에요. 미국/유럽아트는 별로 없어서 1시간반? 이면 충분했지만, 다 보시려면 3시간은 잡아야 한다네요~

오늘 (24.8.8)다녀왔습니다. 목요일은 오후 8시까지 오픈하며 오후 5시이후에는 무료로 관람할 수 있습니다. 다른 미술관에서 보기 힘든 클림트의 작품과 뭉크의 작품을 볼 수 있어서 참 좋았습니다.

많은 좋은 작품, 아쉬운 전시. 좋은 작품은 많습니다. 하지만 동선이 고려되지 않은 배치, 금방 바뀌는 테마, 작품과 상관없이 일관적인 밝은 느낌의 전시관으로 인해 몰입하기가 힘들었습니다. 타 미술관은 여기보다 더 적은작품임에도 동선과 배치, 주변환경을 적절하게하여 깊은 몰입감을 주고, 깊은 인상을 받았으나 여기는 많은 작품에도 불구하고 감명깊은게 없었습니다. 결론적으론 타미술관에 비해 많이 아쉽습니다.

시간이 늦어 미술관 안은 못 들어 갔지만 외관만으로도 정말 멋지고 기념품 가게에 다양한 물건들이 있어서 좋았어요. 앞으로 여정이 많이 남아 사고 싶은 물건이 많았지만 못 사서 아쉬웠어요. 특히 클림트 찻잔과 주전자 셋트!

My late-father and I collected coins for years, from the Royal Canadian Mint. He was never able to make it here but I was so glad I did. I almost wasn't able to get a tour due to some major miscommunication between myself and a lady on the phone about when I should book. An amazing woman by the name of Amber was able to swoop in and help me and my family get 3 tickets. This was my super bowl while in Ottawa. Seems small for some but for others, it's their passion. The tour itself, was so great and informative. The tour guide (I forget her name, blond hair lady), was fantastic and very knowledgeable. She answered questions and gave us lots of time to see everything around us, and take it all in. (원문) First time ever at Saunders Farm as a Family. We purchased the tickets online. I highly recommend that so that it's faster and you don't have to wait in line to purchase tickets at the gate. Bought the regular 29.99 tickets and we spent about 3 hours there without doing any of the extra charge things' to do and we had a blast. The food spots were a hit as well. Takes a bit of time but its definitely worth it for the food. We enjoyed the hay ride and the mazes were fun and a little difficult which was good. We went during the day so because our little guy is only 7 and we didn't want him to be too scared. Lineups for the hay ride and the bouncy structure was the longest waits but was definitely worth it for us. Only minor thins I would of changed is had more potter potties in different areas of the farm. But the main bathroom was in the middle and it was quick for the guys but a little wait for the women as usual. Bathrooms weren't too messy from the guys side. My wife didn't complain about the womens which means that it wasn't too bad either. Overall we would highly recommend this to families and even couples who want to go and have a nice day walking around and enjoying the perks of fall weather, some delicious food and some fun activities and a little scare during the day time.
