몬트리올의 노트르담 대성당은 1824년에 세워진 웅장한 교회로, 생동감 넘치는 스테인드글라스와 콘서트 공연 장소로 유명합니다. 네오 고딕 양식의 내부는 모멘트 팩토리의 아우라 쇼를 통해 21세기 디지털 스펙타클로 변모했습니다. 이 멀티미디어 스튜디오는 아치, 기둥, 제단 및 아치형 천장에 다채로운 빛과 이미지를 투사하여 경이로운 경험을 만들어냈습니다.
외부에 공사중이라 아쉬웠지만 실내로 들어가는 순간 너무 멋진 디자인에 깜짝 놀랐습니다. 내부가 마치 예술과도 같은 모습으로 멋지고 신비로운 분위기가 감동으로 와닿는 곳입니다.

저녁시간에 보면 좋을것 같아요. 30분정도 쇼를 하고, 끝나고 사진을 찍을수 있어요. 일찍 가서 앞자리에 앉으면 좋을거 같아요. 전 잘 모르고 10분정도 전에 갔는데 끝자리에 앉았답니다. 앞쪽에서 보면 감동이 더 잘 느껴질듯 해요.

전에 방문했을 때에 비해 성당 외부를 공사중이어서 아쉬웠지만 여전히 아름다운 내부와 Aura show는 충분히 만족스러웠습니다
6시 Aura show를 보았는데 몬트리올 방문 계획이 있으면 미리 예약을 추천합니다.
공연 30분전부터 입장을 시켜주는데 앞쪽에서 입장하여 너무 앞이 아닌 중간쯤 앉는 것이 공연을 보기에 가장 좋은 것 같습니다

노트르담 대성당 오로라쇼(아우라쇼) 대성당 답게 웅장함과 아름다움 그리고 레이저빔으로 만들진 빛이 어울려 환상적인 시간을 가졌으면 오르간 소리 또한 굉장히 좋았습니다.
몬트리올 여행의 하이라이트, 노틀담 성당의 AURA 쑈를 구경햇습니다. 세상에서 제일 아름답다는 성당 내부에서 조명쑈를 통해 성당이 물에도 들어가고 하늘로 날아가기도 합니다. 지금까지 성당이라면 생각나던 먼지 가득한 박물관 같던 생각을 180도 바꿔버린 귀한 경험이엇습니다.

성당 내부는 공짜. 12달러 내면 전시물 구경과 성당 상단부에서 주변 경관 구경 가능.
두팔을 벌린 마리아상이 꼭대기에 서 있는 모습이 인상적인 교회로 올드포터가는 어귀에 있으며 본래 뱃사람들의 안전을 기원하기 위해 세워졌다고 한다. 길어귀에 보는 교회와 올드포터에 보는 교회의 모습은 다르다. 두팔 벌린 마리아상을 보시려면 올드포터쪽으로 나오셔서 보시길을.. ^^

이보다 멋질 순 없다.차로 길을 찾다가 갑자기 눈 앞에 나타난 성당. 순간 우와라는 감탄사가 절로 나옴.
성당 안도 넘나 인상적이고 발길을 돌릴 수 없게 만드는 무언가로 일몰까지 기다려보기로.
두시간을 기다려 일몰을 감상했는데 아마 평생 잊지 못할 것 같다.
기회가 된다면 꼭 한번 들러보시길 추천.

23년 10월 기준. 공사 중이라 성당 바라보고 오른쪽으로 가서 셔틀 버스를 탔다. 셔틀은 정해진 시간 없이 성당과 아래쪽을 왕복했다.
셔틀운행: 오후6시15분에서 8시 45분
성당은 상당히 크고 내부 조각상들도 인상적이었다. 화장실과 기념품샵, 스낵바 규모도 컸다.
무엇보다 몬트리올에서 일몰이 가장 아름다운 곳이다. 탁 트인 전망과 성당 계단에서 앉아서 보는 선셋이 멋지다. 공간도 넓어서 사람들이 많아도 앉을 곳이 많았다.
대성당에 걸맞는 규모와 웅장함.
별 기대없이 갔다가 성 요섭 대성당에 반했네요.
기회가 되면 가을에 오고 싶군요
방문하지 않았으면 후회할뻔함 곳. 차로 가면 편히 갈 수 았음. 5달러의 주차비다 부과되나 그정도의 가치가 있음. 내부가 정말 넓고 올라가거 바라보는 몬트리올의 모습도 참 좋음. 추천하는 관광지

Beautiful church, one of my favourite churches in Montreal. The architecture is just beautiful, and I also love to come to celebrate the Holy Mass here. I believe most of the masses are held in French. Confession is mostly in French too. I love the priests from this church too. The gift shop is also nice.
PLEASE, If you’re not Catholic and visiting , respect this holy place. Do not enter wearing immodest clothes… you wouldn’t complain in a temple of a different religion would request you the same.

This is an important historical church on Rue Saint-Catherine Street West in the downtown area. It was constructed in Gothic Revival architecture between 1857-1860 and is the seat of the Anglican Diocese of Montreal. The cathedral is also recognised as a historical monument of Quebec (1988) and National Historic Site of Canada (1999).
Christ Church Cathedral is open daily for visitation. There is a service schedule on their website for those interested service times, mission statement or other ministry related information.
The exterior is very nice, a good representation of Neo-Gothic style popular in the later half of the 19th-century commonly found with churches in Britain and the Commonwealth yet with some flamboyant touches that shows a bit of French touch as well.
The interior is equally impressive with a narrow nave with high ceiling, arched vaults and nave column vaults. There is a beautiful screen behind the altar, some impressive stained glass window panes as well. It is a fine cathedral to visit and walk around if you enjoy seeing historic church buildings during your travels.

This is a beautiful church situated René-Lévesque Blvd West in the city central of Montreal. It was constructed between 1843-47 to accommodate the vastly growing number of Irish immigrants in need of a place of worship. It was declared a minor basilica by Pope John II in 1989 and is known for St. Patricks Chimes (10 bells).
The church was designed by P.L. Morin and Father Felix Martin and is one of Canada's finest examples of French Gothic Revival style of architecture, highlighted by its impressive facade, 69 metre tall tower and spire and rose window. What an absolutely stunningly beautiful and mezmerizing holy place. This could be my favorite among all the great churche and basilikas in the entire Montreal region. The basilica is well kept, clean and gorgeous. The ceiling extends to the skies and the lighting transports one to thinking about heavenly matters. There are paintings of the journey of Jesus on the walls, reminding visitors of what ultimately in faith is most important.

The building is beautiful from outside, but once you step inside you realize it's crumbling down and on Sundays they manage to get at the most 50 people in attendance. I have been a few times and the preacher always make the sermon about him, with the same stories (about being a chaplain to patients with AIDS in the 90's). The crowd is rather peculiar, I went with younger brother who is an architect and a civil engineer and wanted to visit the building, we sat close to the front on a side row and there was a creepy older guy, probably in his 80's and wearing pants with a plaid pattern checking out both of us, repeatedly... The congregation is one of the friendliest, diverse and most interesting group of people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. However long you’ve been attending St. John’s, you’ll be just as welcome as those who’ve been there for decades. The clergy are wonderful! Every priest at St. John’s is understanding, kind, and truly committed to serving all who walk through the doors.
The church itself is beautiful, from its iconic red roof to the stained glass windows to the rood screen and the fantastic altarpiece depicting the ascension of Christ. The liturgy with all its rituals and music is a transporting rite, lasting one and a half hours.

This was such an interesting venue hall. The antique look of the space was quite charming and the staff on hand were very courteous and helpful. One of the staff even let me tour the whole building and gave me so much historical context on the building (in a non-preachy way). Overall great experience collaborating on events with this space and this welcoming community of folks.

Before I attended St. John’s, unfortunately, I had a bad impression from the church I attended growing up.
I was under the impression that most churches would be judgmental of me. That assumption was turned completely on it’s head once I stepped into Saint Johns.
St. John’s really follows the spirit of the teaching of Jesus, everyone is welcome and loved. It’s a community full of diverse, loving and eccentric parishioners.
The priests truly care about how you are doing. The organizational bodies work hard to keep the church going and the body of the church supports all of the wonderful events and keeps the community alive.

I attended the Vigil service yesterday night, the day before Easter. They had a rare baptism at the church and that is always great to see.
The service started in the pitch black. A single candle is blessed and from that single candle, everyone has a lot candle. Slowly, the hundred or so candles are lit as the ceremony continues.
After 22 minutes, all the candles are lit and the lights are turned on. Absolutely beautiful.

The liturgy is elaborate and pretty long, which isn't for everyone—but it definitely is for me, and it might be perfect for you too. It's so full of meaning and of reverence that I wouldn't trade it for anything. I love the music, the building, the theology, and the people.

I found this church to be very breathtaking with its high ceilings and gothic structure. It also feels very welcoming with a very quaint and beautiful garden. I don't consider myself religious but I took a few minutes to pray for some friends who had recently passed. The church also has really cool stained glass. This small cathedral is very welcoming as well as being adjacent to a spectacular discovery that was so unexpected. A well kept nature path that leads to a breathtaking chapel built in 1905. It was just a little unfortunate that the interior had an incredibly chilly humidity which made it difficult to fully enjoy. Otherwise, we were really impressed how this little park has been well kept. A vast parking as well as toilets are on place to use free of charge. Take a moment to light a candle. Making a small donation will go a long way in helping them upkeep this wonderful area.
