There was a lot of construction 🚧. It made it hard to get there from off the road, but besides that no complaints. Staff was ultra nice. Pillows could have been a bit more firm. But, room was clean easy parking. They even offered to carry my bags out. I would go again. And I was able to plug up my firestick.

The BEST stay on our whole trip. The hostess was extremely friendly and seemed like she actually liked her job. She spoke highly of the hotel herself! The lobby was clean, and the parking lot felt safe. Our room was clean and smelled good. It actually felt like a vacation! It was a quiet night and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good too! They had a variety with yogurt, omelettes, waffles, fruit, bacon, sausage, bagels, and oatmeal. Check out was easy.

The staff were very nice and professional. Nice quick breakfast selection. The female employee working in the breakfast area was very nice and helpful. I hand my hands full walking down the hall to my room and an elderly very nice man employee asked me if he could help me carry the items to my room. I thought that was so very nice. We had 2 rooms. I requested them to be close together as we were traveling together. we were happily across the hall from each other.
Check-in was efficient and friendly.
Our rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. After a long day of traveling and sightseeing, we were all exhausted.
There was a little traffic noise from being next to the interstate, on the side facing the road. Not enough to be disruptive.
Breakfast was good. a nice selection of hot and cold items. the grandkids were happy with the mini-waffles, while the adults got the standard waffles. The attendant was quick to refill items and clean up a spill. the whole breakfast area was clean and well maintained.
We enjoyed our stay, and will probably stay here again if we travel though the area.

The main reason we chose the Courtyard by Marriott was for the indoor pool, so I was extremely disappointed to find that the water was ice cold. If a hotel advertises an indoor pool, it should be kept at a comfortable temperature, and because of this issue I can’t give a higher rating.
I also purchased a breakfast sandwich for nearly $12, and unfortunately it wasn’t worth the price. You’re better off saving your money and walking next door to Cracker Barrel.
On a positive note, the hotel itself was very clean. The housekeeping staff were super friendly and clearly do an excellent job. The front desk staff were also pleasant and welcoming. The mattress was comfortable, and the sheets and towels were fresh and clean. The room came stocked with a hair dryer, iron, ironing board, and extra blankets and pillows. The air/heat worked well and kept the room at a comfortable temperature.
Overall, the cleanliness and friendly staff were highlights, but the freezing pool and overpriced breakfast were major letdowns.

I booked a room for a king size bed. When I arrived for my stay I was greeted in a friendly manner by the desk clerk that uses JMR as their ID according to the bill. He saw my reservation and checked me in. I asked the clerk if were possible to have a room, a king bed room, away from the elevators. He did some typing and said he took care it. Gave me the room key cards and I and my wife went the room. Once we entered we saw it that it was a double queen room. We went back to the clerk and I told him that he placed me in a double queen when I booked a king. He said he didn't do it, the system did it. There were no king bed rooms available. He stated that because I didn't pay in full upon initial booking that situation can and will happen. There is NOTHING stated or implied like that on your booking page. He said he could either give me a refund or I could take the room offered and seek compensation of some sort through contacting customer service (management) via email. He said there's no direct number to speak to anyone and there wasn't a manager on duty. This clerk showed no empathy. I took the refund and the bad taste left from the experience

Getting checked in was a little slow, and they didn't have cribs after being told on the phone that they do. (I called customer service after and got compensated for that.) Otherwise, I'd definitely recommend this location!

Service was good. The room was great except for the water pressure which barely activated the shower. The shower situation really distracts from the overall experience. Breakfast was less than most hotels but includes hot food. The location is close to a couple restaurants and the highway but no entertainment options. The pantry offers a few snacks and sodas. We stayed at this hotel after a long day of delayed flights, arriving around 10 P.M. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing.
Upon entering the property, we noticed some minor cleanliness issues in the lobby, but we brushed it off since it was late. The check-in staff were polite and welcoming, which we appreciated. However, as we walked through the hallways, we saw stained carpets and overall unclean conditions.

I recently stayed at the Residence Inn and had an extremely disappointing experience.
Renovation Notice: I was informed a day before my stay that most of the property, including the pool and gym, was under renovation. They offered to cancel my reservation without a cancellation charge, which is ridiculous considering the short notice and the hassle of finding a new hotel last minute.

Going down to breakfast before 9. There was sausage and eggs. By 9:10 no hot food at all or water. Just plain cold water and no clean tables. We sat outside. By the time it was starting to get refilled. We were heading back to our room.

I requested to see the room prior to checking in, she escorted me to the room and we both checked it and found it exceptional. When booking, I requested extra pillows, although they were not in the room, she quickly brought some up. The bed was extremely comfortable. This hotel truly takes pride in themselves. What impressed me the most is we checked out around 5am prior to breakfast which started at 6a. At the front desk there were bags all lined up neatly and folded with a sticker that read: fuel for your day. The first hotel that actually put a grab bag out for guests who leave prior to breakfast time and so thoughtful! This should be implemented at every hotel. The bag contained fruit, yogurt, a water bottle, bagel with cutlery, napkins, cream cheese and peanut butter. There was also a small bucket filled with sanitary solution to drop the key cards off in when checking out. If ever I need to return to the area, I will definitely book here again.

I stayed at the property for a four night trip Mon-Fri for business. The property is convenient to the interstate and easily accessed. Additionally the property is well maintained and clean, and mostly presents as one of the newer Hampton properties. They do no have the Hilton App room access system yet but that is a minor inconvenience. The staff were friendly when interacting with them.
On the bad side however, upon checking into my room there was a strong smell of onions or food to the room that didn't really clear till the fourth day, this is with the room fans going on high. The one side of the bed felt like it was going to cave in and needs replacement or repair.
The the breakfast options were slightly below the level I would expect at a Hampton, with unseasoned eggs and potatoes with sausage patties. The muffins were cleared out by the second morning and did not appear to have been restocked at all after that.
My largest complaint is that to the best of knowledge my room was never entered by housekeeping during my entire stay. I never posted the do not disturb sign nor did I request no housekeeping with the desk. My bed was never made, nor was the trash taken out. Thankfully I had three towels and one and a half rolls of toilet paper so didn't need to request more. I understand the policy of everyday service, and would have understood had things been cleaned when I came back on the fourth night instead of the third. Maybe the rooms wouldn't take four days to quit smelling like onions if they were regularly cleaned.
I stay in hotels over 50 nights a year and usually prefer to stay in Hampton Inns due to the value and quality. That being said I was reluctant to stay here to begin with due to the lower reviews but my preferred Hampton in the area didn't have a King Suite available. This was my first stay at this property and it will be my last.

Comfortable and clean room, and great breakfast. The only issue we had was that neither of our key cards would work to get into the back doors of the building. We had returned late from an event, parked in back and it put us in a potentially dangerous situation. One of us is disabled, and disability parking in front was full.

The Hampton inn on Kennedy is one of the best Hilton hotels in this area. They have very active housekeeping, and offer great breakfast. The employees are kind and very helpful. Not clean at all! Checked in and we had dirty bedding. The front desk did provide me with all new linens once I requested it, but the walls all throughout the hotel and in the rooms were dirty. The carpeting all throughout and in the rooms were dirty. One of the towel shelves and toilet roll holder were broke and just hanging off the wall. Shower/tub was not clean. When the ac kicked on it was super loud and noisy and had a strange smell. Also, the app and online says it provides digital key for members but when we asked why it wasnt working, the lady said the hotel isn't equipped for that. Why advertise what the hotel doesn't provide?! Overall, Hilton needs to do way better! I will never stay at another Hampton Inn.

The TVs they have locked so you cannot change the inputs. So you only have like 30 boring channels. I could never get connected to WiFi which wasn't a bigm since the TV was trash. The rooms smell musty. The A/C unit made a horrible grinding noise randomly all night. Breakfast is ok but it's not enough meat choices. I was there for 7 days. Most days there was not any meat. The rest it was sausage and I don't eat pork. They need better meat choices. Every other day, my key card wouldn't work so I had to go get it fixed. The staff was super nice but saying you can't change something being nice doesn't make it a good experience.

We stayed at this hotel for an event and it was a great experience! The rooms were really clean and the staff was very friendly. I didnt catch the ladies name but she was helping with the breakfast area both mornings we were there and probably the most friendly and helpful worker ive ever experienced in a hotel setting! She was so helpful and nice! The area wasnt nearly as bad as what some people put in the comments but I guess it depends on what youre used to. There is plenty of restaurants close by and a bowling alley/sports bar across the street. Its only 10min drive to the Civic Center and about 30min to Chicago. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely return if we are back in the area!

Stayed here 2 nights. Overall good hotel. Check-in was fast, staff was helpful. Breakfast was good. (Raisin bread, bagels, boiled eggs, cereals, pan cakes etc.) We were visiting Chicago and Indiana Dunes. Close enough to Chicago to drive. Came here after a long road trip from TX to Wisconsin and heading back down to Kentucky. The room first off was way overpriced. It was more like a Super 8 type of room. The front desk guy was super cool but upon getting to my room the cable didn't work. Only a few channels. So they moved me to another room and none of the channels worked on that TV. So for a third time I got moved and finally the channel's worked fine. After an hour of being moved around I finally could relax a bit until I realized my feet were almost pitch black from the floor. Gross. The bed was okay and sheets were clean. Plenty of towels and soaps and shampoos. The area is very sketchy. Of course it's the east side of Chicago but I wouldn't bring family here. Again the service was descent and the guy felt bad moving me around a bunch but really?? Three different rooms to get a good working TV. Will probably never stay at a Ramada again.

Service was terrible. Breakfast attendant was rude and harassed my boyfriend the whole time we were there. Breakfast was cold and had to be heated in the microwave. The staff here is amazing. We had an unusual check in request and called around everywhere. Ramada was the only one willing to accommodate us.... granted it slowed check in so the staff could confirm with the manager, but they got it done! Rooms are clean, they give plenty of towels. The beds are not the most comfortable, they are hard and I could feel the springs not that could just be me. Overall they are a good value for the price.

By far one of the worst properties I could have ever stayed at I am a bus driver who stayed here with a team last night. I was never told where to park my bus upon arrival of hotel. on top of that my room stuff like an ashtray. The carpets were very dirty like they hadn’t been cleaned in years then when I get back to the hotel with my team, I get a phone call in the middle of the night telling me to move my bus or it was gonna be towed, and the team would be kicked out over it as well when they had nothing to do with it. The security guard decided to get real antsy with me and called me a derogatory term then, when I went to the general manager about it in the morning, she decided to take the hotel staff side instead of hearing what I had to say needless to say it shows how this hotel is ran the GM is complete and utter trash needs to work on her professionalism the night auditor needs to learn to come to work in uniform and not regular clothes so that way he can be recognized as an employee and not look like someone who shouldn’t be working behind the front desk needless to say I called Wyndham support to file a complaint against the hotel but I feel like that’s probably gonna go nowhere. Trust me when I say it don’t waste your time with this hotel keep looking it’s not worth it.

We were in town last minute to attend a funeral in Gary. Saw the prices here were more affordable than our usual places of choice about 2 minutes away. We took a chance based on the reviews, and was pleasantly surprised by how clean and comfortable the place actually was. The staff was kind and helpful anytime we had to interact with them. I was concerned about potential problems due to there being a club next door, but the hotel and surrounding area was very quiet. Honestly the only "noise" we heard was when a guest parked under our window with loud music playing as they pulled up. We did not get to try the breakfast, but it sure smelled good. The location was great for access to food/shopping. We definitely would stay again.

Long story short booked a room they messed that booking up , we called a week ahead to make sure the reservation was good they said yes, we bared with them. Got to the room that was available it smelled like mildew. Even though the staff handled the situation with good customer service, we left after we found a strange looking bed bug looking insect crawling on the bedspread. The next day we spoke with management she was very unprofessional and just insisted there are no bugs on the site that the treat and stray regular that the big must have been a mosquito in that we left the room musty.
For the record we weren't in the room long we did even finish the stay. Horrible hotel experience I've stayed the redroof inn and had a better experience than this.

Horrible Experience – Found Bed Bugs During My Stay
I stayed at this hotel on 11/10/2025 and unfortunately, my experience was extremely unpleasant. In the middle of the night, I noticed bed bugs crawling on the bed and on me. It was very distressing and completely unacceptable. I immediately contacted the front desk, but the response was very respectful and accommodating of the situation.
I had to relocate to another room and disposed of any clothes I was wearing in bed, as for any other fabric material i had unpacked the front desk clerk ran them through an industrial dryer in an attempt to kill off whatever i might have missed ( I DIDN'TWANTTO TAKE ANY UNWANTED BUGS WITH ME).
This experience ruined my trip and made me concerned about the cleanliness and hygiene standards of the hotel.
I strongly urge management to properly treat the rooms for bed bugs and take guest complaints seriously. Until then, I would not recommend anyone stay here.

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Room was dirty upon arrival. I had to change my own sheets that had blood and hair on them. Had issues with being double charged. Didn’t have a wet floor sign fell on in a wet area. Claimed I got housekeeping, which I never did and couldn’t supply extra towels for a multiple day stay, They stated that we could get some after when we were supposed to be checked out anyway. If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would I called them days before my check in date to find out how to cancel my reservations. The lady wasn’t very helpful. Days later they went in my account and took $128 and I never stayed at that hotel. I talk to the manger and she told me they wasn’t giving me my money back and that’s the price for the cancellation fee. I never received and email to cancel. The cancellation fee is the price of the room if u don’t cancel which is a scam. $40 or $50 OK but the whole price of the room is absolutely insane. I disputed with my bank and hopefully I get my money back.

Overall the stay was good. The room was nice, clean, and spacious. The breakfast buffet had variety of options to pick from. The front desk staff was courteous and helpful. However, the housekeeping staff needs to improve and be more professional. The towels were not clean. Be aware before booking this hotel. Unfortunately, our stay was extremely disappointing. We were moved to 3 different rooms due to unacceptable conditions and ultimately had to leave for another hotel. In each room, we found blood stains on mattresses and pillows, hairs on bed sheets, pillowcases, and throughout the shower. It appeared that the linens were not properly cleaned between guests. Felt more like a motel 6. The beds were clean with fresh sheets, but the pillows were completely mismatched like they were acquired at a thrift store. The bathroom did not stand up to any scrutiny. A cursory inspection revealed that the floor, tub, sink, and shower curtain hadn't been seriously cleaned for several visits. Only one of the 2 elevators were in service, and after traveling to all four floors in search of ice, I was only able to procure about 2 cups. Check-in staff were awesome — friendly and professional. But checkout? Completely the opposite. The person at the desk clearly didn’t care that I’m Platinum (almost Diamond) with IHG, and acted like they didn’t even know what IHG was. Standard checkout is 11am, and they only pushed it to 11:30. After I explained that late checkout is one of the main reasons I stay with IHG, they “graciously” gave me until 12 — like they were doing me some kind of personal favor.
That’s not honoring loyalty perks. That’s ignoring them. Because of that attitude, this hotel just lost all my future bookings. If you’re a loyal IHG member, don’t expect recognition here.

The location is not hard to find, and I love the area. There was chicken sausage as one of the choices for breakfast 😋.. everything wasn't pork like most places. I love the color scheme on the outside and inside of the building. Along with that there was 1 issue. They sold our suite to a family who decided to stay another night and we have 2 kids who needed more space. I loved the pool and workout room. Clean bathrooms and plenty of places to sit , lounge and enjoy family and have peace. They downsized our room with a discount in the end.

The rooms were a little worn out but comfortable enough. We had a full kitchen in our room which was nice since we were there multiple days. I found the bed to be on the firmer side. I was glad there was a hot tub that was nice and hot. We were in a good spot with lots of things to do and places to eat near by. The employees really outdid themselves with anything we needed. My son lives in Munster and has a small house so we stay in town close by. We have not stayed here before, but thought we would give it a try. My husband is an hhonors Member and we’ve stayed at Homewood suites and other locations before and they’re all pretty standard.
I’m husband made the room reservation about two months ago when we knew we were coming to visit my son. One day before we checked in, my husband received a message that the king suite he had reserved was no longer available and we were going to have a suite with two queen beds. He said this is not acceptable so they gave him some money off of the price.
The layout of this hotel was standard also. We noticed right away though that the floors appeared dirty, there was trash on the floor of the elevator, and bags of trash strewn throughout the elevator lobbies and hallways.
When we arrived at our room, we noticed that there was a trash receptacle outside our front door. It was still filled with trash. We had no trash can in our bathroom so we assumed it was ours and took it in. We noticed that the room appeared to have not been made up:
1. Stains on the sheets and pillowcases; they did not look clean.
2. No hand soap, no shampoo or conditioner.
3. Dishwasher was filled with dishes that appeared clean, but we don’t know for sure.
We informed the front desk about all of these issues and they said they would send someone to clean our room the next day(today), and they dropped off shampoo and conditioner at our room. I picked up bar soap from the front desk.
We just got back to the room after being gone all day and
1. No clean sheets
2. They took dirty hand towels but did not give us clean ones.
3. Dishes are still in the dishwasher. In fact, they added our dirty dishes to the clean dishes already in the unit but did not turn it on so now they are all dirty.
4. Floor still not vacuumed.
5. The mirror looks like it was wiped down with a dirty sponge; I can barely see through it….
So now as I sit on the bed and write this, I am dreading getting under the covers in the dirty sheets that were dirty when we checked in…
Tomorrow we check out.. done with this place!
At least there is shampoo. We are “one and done” for this property….

We reserved a handicapped accessible room a week in advance. The day prior to our arrival we verified our reservation. All was good until we arrived and there was no room available. They tried other hotels but no one had handicapped rooms available. We got our own room at another hotel. Because of this we missed most of the wedding we can in town for. The following Monday I called the regional manager. Jake,with no last name and no boss,said they gave our room away. When pressed he said it's industry practice what do you want. In short I would think twice before booking at a Hilton.

I was really disappointed in this experience. I have come to expect a high standard from the Hilton brand, especially at Homewood Suites, but this did not live up to that standard. The negative. The room had a very off smell to it, possibly like a wet dog had been there for a while. Lots of stains on the carpet and the furniture, giving the experience a feel of uncleanliness. There was a homeless family that was clearly moving into the hotel when we arrived, and many people were putting trash and shoes in the hallway throughout our stay. Wasn't happy about the holding fee of $125 per night on the weekend (Friday and Saturdays) thats ridiculous especially coming from out of town and being visitors. Luckily I can afford it but what if it was a family that just had enough money with small kids. I've stayed at way more expensive hotels and only had to pay no more $100 holding fee. 1. I was allowed accommodation in two of their rooms. One was a king size suite, the other was a one bedroom king size suite.
2. The first room had no damages but plenty of noise coming from children being allowed to run up and down the hallways until the wee hours of the morning.

7. Children were always running loose being totally unsupervised at all hours of the day night and wee morning hour.
8. The laundry room was a hot mess just messy. The newer washer was damaged with all kinds of messy chemicals spillages everywhere seriously???
9. There was a big footed stomper who was housed over me the first week I stayed at the hotel. Not good. kept stomping until eventually they were either moved or kicked the heck out of the hotel. SMDH. A hotel isn’t the place for an audition to do tryouts for a new broadway musical people.

The 1st room the AC didn't work so I asked for another room and the 2nd room door handle was broke and the 3rd room had a small odor in it like sewage. That night while trying to sleep the odor got really bad. I went down to the front desk and the management came back upstairs to the room and he said that he smelled it as well and he said that it was terrible. He gave me a 4th room and I could still smell it but not as bad as room #3. The bathtub didn't drain. Other people complained about their drains as well. I don't ever write reviews but I am not happy with this hotel. The staff was helpful but the breakfast was COLD.

My recent experiences at this Days Inn have been extremely disappointing and concerning.
On one stay, I witnessed a child vomit in the pool area. Three days later, the dried green vomit was still there, which shows a clear lack of cleaning and sanitation. This is a serious health and safety issue.
On another visit, my personal property (an Alexa device) went missing from my room, and I strongly believe it was taken by housekeeping. In addition, I once returned to my room only to find that my key card no longer worked. When I went to the front desk to have it reset, I came back and discovered the general manager and housekeeping supervisor inside my room without my consent. When I questioned why they were there, the general manager (Lydia Soto) told me she had the right to enter and claimed it was due to an “inspection.”
She then confronted me about towels I had left outside the room, saying the hotel “failed an inspection” because of it. I explained that in many hotels it is common practice to leave towels outside for collection, yet instead of apologizing for being in my room without permission, she dismissed my concerns. Housekeeping has also been inconsistent—on one occasion, the general manager said my tub was “dirty” and would “take a long time to clean,” which came across as insulting rather than professional.
Overall, this hotel lacks cleanliness, professionalism, and respect for guests’ privacy. Management’s behavior, especially entering my room without consent, is unacceptable. I cannot recommend this property to anyone.

Location is nice since it's close to the expressway! Got a room with a Jacuzzi in it & the bed was real comfortable. Rooms were clean. I called a few days before my stay and was told my total would be $174 for one night with my pet. When I arrived to check in, they slapped on a $25 pet fee, which I was told wasn’t included bringing my total to $199 for one night. On top of that, there was an unexpected $18 “Room charge.”
When I got to my room on the second floor, the door opened without even needing a key card, a serious security issue. To make matters worse, any of the outside doors can be opened by anyone because they are all unlocked, meaning anyone can just walk right in without a key card.

We booked Fairfield at the last minute after a bad experience at another hotel. Rooms are clean, the desk clerk was nice and very polite, and the breakfast area was well attended to and clean. We have stayed in a lot of hotels and usually excuse one or two negatives things, but this hotel just kept having lots of little annoyances. Hotel is next to highway and the highway noise is pretty loud. When we stayed the hotel was not crowded at all and we were placed next to the elevator and ice machine. The ice machine sounded like a jet engine all night. There were only 2 bath towels in room while we had 3 guests. There were two bottles of shampoo in shower and no body wash. And finally the bathroom door was difficult to close. Again - nothing was awful - it was just a bunch of annoying things.

I booked a weekend stay for 2 guests. My parents ended up being the ones to make the trip so I made sure to have my dad's name added via the app since it was his card on the reservation. An employee even said all he needed was his ID and the card. They get there to check in and the lady says not only is his name not on the room but he can't check in. I even called the hotel line myself to just verify the account information because they have asked me to do that before. She refused everything at 9pm and says I can just cancel the room and book you a new one. Sounds fishy and like a scam when he is about to use the same card you just saw on the reservation. Only because they had travelled all day did they even stay there. I took screenshots of everything before it disappeared when she cancelled the reservation. She wouldn't even give her name.
After staying at several Marriott locations over the years and even staying at this location in the past, we will never book here again. I was going to call the hotel the next morning and give my feedback until I realized they probably all family and would only take up for the lady being rude and unreasonable.

This is the worst Marriot chain hotel I’ve ever stayed in. They put us in a room with a tub that was filthy and no matter what, couldn’t get it cleaned out. Toilet seat was broken, bathroom floor hadn’t been mopped. Offered us a 2nd room and the toilet wouldn’t refill once flushed. Finally moved us to the 2rd floor and got a decent room.
Then went downstairs to talk with the folks who traveled with me and the staff asked us to leave saying the kitchen is closed. We in the sitting area as there is no actually lobby. This place is horrible!!!!!

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The room we were given was not the one we booked, and when we asked about it, the staff was dismissive and unhelpful. The room itself smelled terrible and felt unclean. For the price, I expected at least the basics, but instead we got awful customer service and a space that made us want to leave right away. The pool was in fact not heated and was disgusting. To make matters worse, I even suspected there could have been bed bugs, which was the final straw. Absolutely not worth the money—do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

I have stayed at this location in the past and was highly impressed. This time I noticed the room and overall property and room was not cleaned properly. The front desk staff used to be very friendly and inviting. No so much on this latest stay. Every interaction I had with the front desk staff seemed to liked I was bothering them. Greeted with attitude and never felt welcome or that my business mattered. Mind you I wanted to just purchase some items from the little store, and second interaction was to extend my say another day. Looks like things are starting to go downhill at this property. I've been coming here since before they last remodeled... years ago. It's definitely time for updates and upgrades! When I say I'm about done with Ameristar, I mean it! They charge you amenity fees. However, they don't even provide the essentials! For some reason, the coffee table was missing in our room and we were told, basically to deal with it. When you're staying for a couple of days, usually you bring a lot of stuff and not having that table was definitely a huge inconvenience! Anything missing in your room and you're told you have to go get it from the front desk yourself. Even if it should've already been there. Ice machines are on alternate floors. But it's a toss up as to whether or not they're working. The beds are so old, they have deep depressions, in most of them, from many previous guests. If you have a working phone in your room, you're lucky.
I've noticed the decline in people at this establishment, for a while. Now I can see why. Yes, as a business, you want people to spend more time gambling than in their rooms. However, if they're not comfortable when Ithey do go to the room, they're less likely to stay and gamble for 3 days. And their rewards program isn't making the grade anymore either. This weekend will definitely be my last. Time to give my money to the ones who reinvest in their property!

The rooms was very nice, spacious, and clean! ( king room ). Loved the fishing spots all around the hotel. Checking in was easy, asked for a rolling cart to load our car and the bus staff brought one out to the car and wouldn’t leave it so feeling awkward being watched unloading your car, my husband told the bus boy we would just carry it to our room. They push your stuff all the way to your room, wait for you to unload the cart and they take the cart back. I understand the idea of it but not all people wants someone staring at them with their stuff for 30 minutes. Went later to buy a pop when checking out and lady acted bothered to help me and didn’t talk. I asked if everything was complete and she said yes. Location is very easy to get around, besides getting lost wondering around between the parking garage and hotel. ( inside the buildings ). The beach next door was very dirty with trash on the beach. We just walked the beach at night so maybe they didn’t have time to clean it, but it was a lot of trash on beach. First time traveling to Indiana and I did not realize that every direction you look are steel mills with huge pollution stacks. I told my husband I’m surprised if people that are local don’t have respiratory problems. Little concerning just because they are literally everywhere…. Casino was very scattered around and not as big as I had thought. It’s a nice casino for locals or an extra touch to the casino but I would not travel far to go to the casino alone. Two nights we ate at the espn bet and was not thrilled about the food. Very out priced for quality and quantity. Pictures show my $8 cup of chicken for my salad, and my $8 potato soup made with Alfredo sauce 2nd night we went to Hard Rock casino down the road and spent hours down there playing.

The staff is wonderful and very helpful. Valet named Curtis is wonderful. The hotel desk staff was very efficient and friendly but seemed stressed with too much to take care of (phones ringing, lines at all times, bell hop and gift shop.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable. There is a desk, seating area (love seat), refrigerator, coffee maker and a good size closet. Housekeeping needs to be more thourogh. I felt confident that the linens, toilet, shower and tub were disinfected but the floors, surfaces, coffee maker and refrigerator were not clean. I always pack dish soap and clorox wipes due to this issue. The people who stayed before us left greasy handprints in the shape of feet on the walls, furniture, mirrors and windows that housekeeping missed. The refrigerator was full of ice and needed defrosted plus the exterior of the appliance and shelf it sits on was very dusty. There were minor maintenance issues for example, the front panel on the tub was cut short so the plumbing was visible and the toilet was leaking behind the tank near the shut-off valve. I expect better from Ameristar.
The casino was fun! There is a good variety of slots, sports betting and table games. Again the staff was outstanding in the casino. The restaurants have a nice variety of food choices and price points to fit most people's needs. I would highly recommend the Red Lotus, it is a hidden gem. The food is amazing! There isn't much seating and they are only open 6-10p but definitely worth checking out. My favorite is the Thai Chicken Coconut Curry....yum!
Overall, our stay was great because of the wonderful staff. We will be back :)

This was the worst experience my family and I have ever experienced while staying at a motel.
We trusted the motel 6 and have trusted the motel 6 for the last 15 years. Any city we travel to we stay at the motel 6 due to affordable pricing and comfort.
Due to the disrespect of the head house keeper and Sam the manger, we will never stay at the motel 6 ever again. They have embarrass my husband and In front of the children.
We paid for two nights and the second night of being there, they threaten to call the police on us if we didn’t track our bags and leave the property.
I showed them my two night confirmation but Sam claimed he didn’t see it and I had to either pay him cash or leave the property. This is absolutely unacceptable and I will be reporting him.

Don't see how people are leaving good reviews. Nothing about this place was good. Booked one room that had dog stains on sheets smelled really bad. Switched out to another room, still had dog stains on sheets. What looked like bug stray on head boards. Dead bugs near bed frame. Service at the front desk was even worse. Guy at the desk was very polite but our room was dirty. Floors were gross, spider webs in the corners, the led lights on headboard were filled with ashes, spider webs and dead bugs. While looking for the tv's power button, my hand got covered, in what I hope was vaseline. Would recommend a deep clean.

I wouldn’t even rate this place honestly it don’t even deserve 1 star. This place is disgusting. The floor boards are coming up. The towels and bed sheets already have stains on them. So I’m not sure if they’re clean or not. The tv does not work! It would say “no signal” then shut off. And..There are roaches…. Big and small ones. Staff was pleasant, though there was only 1 person for the whole hotel that night. It was definitely disappointing as far as Hampton hotels. I stay at hotels a lot and in fact was at a Hampton Inn the night before in NE. I really like them usually as they are accomodating and clean. This one lacked a lot. The elevators were out, not a huge problem if you are able bodied. The whole hotel was out of tissues. The room I had was only stocked for 2 people for towels even though it was a 4 person room. I booked the room I had the previous night as I liked the size, though this one was smaller, and more dated with a lot of wear to it. The air unit was filled with molded debris, there was pink hard water build up which usually can be scrubbed. There were random curly black hairs on sink and towels. Vents were filthy and the room musty smelling. The fridge also did not get cold at all. I really think it could be a nice hotel if they kept up maintenance as Ive seen what other Hamptons put forth.

Shower was less to be desired. It appears they updated an old hotel and skipped on making the showers better. The water pressure was too low. They may allow work teams to stay there, I should not assume but there were quite a few workers in the hotel. Otherwise it was a nice stay, we felt safe and the beds were nice. I booked a room a month in advance at Homewood Suites in Munster, IN for my daughter’s 5th birthday sleepover. The day of check-in, I got a call saying my room was canceled because of a “leak” — even though I had a confirmed reservation and they had already sold out. We stayed at this hotel to celebrate my niece’s 5th birthday, and what should’ve been a joyful family memory turned into a nightmare.
Julie, one of the staff members, was incredibly rude and disrespectful toward us from the start. Instead of showing basic courtesy or professionalism, she chose to escalate the situation and actually called the police — over a small child’s birthday gathering.
Our family was calm, respectful, and simply trying to make a little girl’s day special. There was absolutely no reason for how we were treated. Watching my niece cry on her birthday because of how this was handled was truly heartbreaking.
I will never return to this location and would not recommend it to anyone who expects kindness, respect, or professionalism from hotel staff. Hampton Inn should be ashamed to have someone like this representing their brand.

NEVER,NEVER, NEVER stay in this hotel. When we got In the lobby to check in, it smelled like cigarretes. The elevator is so outdated, it shakes when it lands on a floor and has a lot of cracks, and it just does not feel safe at all. There are no cameras in the hallways, so if something happens, there is no proof of it happening. Even though they say the hotel has internet, it is very slow and in times it does not work (don't think it can cover the whole hotel) . The so called free "breakfast" was just a cereal bar, so we had to spend money in a restaurant. When we tried to open the door to ur room one time with our cards, it would not open so we had to go down to the lobby to report that to the service person. We got more cards and we eventually got in, but we got a little bit scared we were not going to be able to get in. The worst part was the second night. A person from another room was making loud screams (I think he was trying to puke I don't know), but it was happening at random times in the night or a long time (I think it was for around 2 and a half hours) and I couldnt sleep. So I called service to check what was happening, but they only checked for little bit and they did not get to hear the person scream/cough/puke. I called again about a half an hour later and they said they did not find anything going on (makes sense because they only investigated for a short amount of time), so the loud noises were still happening and it felt like service were not doing their jobs at all. Eventually, the loud noises stopped and I was able to sleep, but I was and still am terrified and I can't stop thinking about what happened. Also, the road outside was loud and that made it even harder to fall asleep.
The only good things about it were that they offered to housekeep our room while we went out to chicago, the beds felt very comfortable and had nice pillows, the bathroom was clean and it had a nice shower and very clean and comfortable towels (I wish it had toothpaste though), the a/c cooled our room with no problems, it had a good working tv that had a variety of channels (I wished it was bigger and more plain), and the employees were very nice.
Overall, I say again, DO NOT stay in this hotel. There is a days inn nearby that was way better to stay at for a cheap price too. You should not even think about staying in this hotel even if it is your last option. I think even going to a hotel farther away is better.

I usually don’t write reviews unless something really stands out—but this place was unacceptable.
The room smelled like a cow shed, and although the bathroom looked clean, it had a horrible odor and the exhaust fan didn’t work. I had no choice but to stay the night and left early in the morning.
Despite claiming to be a non-smoking property, the entire place smelled like heavy smoke. As for breakfast, it was a joke: no juice (machine empty), coffee tasted old, and only a few cereal bars were available.
I expected a certain standard from a property advertised under the Wyndham name, but this was a huge letdown.
Even if the stay is free, I strongly recommend avoiding this place. It’s disappointing that it’s even listed on platforms like Expedia

Drove from Texas with false information. To get kicked out after being told that they can't give us a weekly rate cause our company doesn't have a contract with this hotel. So we have to leave cause we need a weekly rate. 19hrs drive to be lied to by 2 separate people who have no clue what they saying. Yet some of our co-workers got a weekly rate with no problem. This is ridiculous. Make sure you ask for a manager before you get any info from any employee from this hotel. Never had this problem before with any Super 8 in any state of the country but Hammond Indiana

The outside of the building would kind of fool you but on the inside it's a little outdated. I don't know what was going on when I got there but the lobby had a smell to it. I get on the elevator and it looks like it's from 1960 something. I get off on my floor and I guess maybe that's what a smell was coming from which was horrendous. The washing machine and dryer were extremely loud in the hallway and there was trash stacked up outside of the small trash can that was provided. I get into my room fortunately the smell was not in there. As I mentioned before the inside is quite outdated. Reminds me more of a truck stop motel than anything. The staff were friendly though.

Rooms were cleaned daily like every other hotel I have been to. Staff were very nice. Rooms need fixing. TV in room was like a 24 inch like one you'd expect to see for computer use. Old rugs and plenty of stains. Classic.
