We have eaten at The White Hart before and have always experienced good food and good service at a price that made it good value for money. We had 8 adults and 1 child in our booking and it was a double celebration for two birthdays. The menu had changed and we were fortunate enough to have a voucher for a 40% discount. We ordered a selection of meals although a few people choose the same items so it wasn't 10 different meals. One of the meals was a rump mint pie combo unfortunately I think this was meant to have been on the children's menu as it was certainly not an adult sized portion and at best it was served like warm. Another member of the party ordered a burger meal and when this arrived it had to be returned as it was cold. This meal never reappeared until everyone else had finished there food and was chased by ourselves as to the whereabouts of the meal. We had a chicken burger meal where the gravy came out for this much later than the meal. The meals took a long time to come out and by the time the last meals came out some of the party had finished eating. Staff were under pressure as it was busy and with only two members of staff to operate the bar take orders at the tables and serve the food they tried there best but unfortunately the service was below an acceptable standard. Plenty of parking however this needs to be paid for unless in your booking. Food and drinks choice for both breakfast and dinner were great. We did however prefer the view restaurant for dinner. Perfect for a family with children as all the staff take out time to interact and talk with the kids and explain all the cool activities they have available at the hotel.
