I love all kinds, sampling in every state across the south as well as Texas and Oklahoma (sorry Kansas City, haven’t made it up to you yet). Different regions are good, and some places that don’t have a strong history have a lot of options. Mississippi is known for pork, and ribs. Big Bees did not disappoint. These were the best ribs I’ve ever had, hands down. I didn’t need sauce but that made it better. Tender, flavorful, perfect balance of smoke, pepper, rub, without sacrificing the taste of the meat. The BBQ baked beans, Mac n Cheese, were also great. If you prioritize ambiance, table service, or other superficial qualities when picking restaurants, you will sleep on this place and miss out on some of the best FOOD you’ll ever have. This place looks like a bbq place and I wouldn’t change a thing. Chain BBQ restaurants are the embarrassment to the industry. Big Bees is exactly what I want a BBQ place to look like.
