It was poppin for a Thursday night. Our waiter came and dropped off waters. By the time he came back around, we all knew what we wanted. My cousin started us off with some cha gio. I snagged the pho special and my cousin ordered the tofu with mixed vegetables. The cha gio was dropped off first. They were quite tasty! The exterior was rice paper and is the only way cha gio should be made! I love the crunchiness of the fried rice paper. The filling was savory. Paired with the fish sauce, the ultimate sweet and savory combo! My pho came out piping hot! It looked like a smaller bowl but I was so wrong. I kept eating the noodles and thought I would never finish. You get a good amount of brisket, steak, meatballs, tripe and tendons. The broth was rich and warm. Everything about that bowl of pho was fantastic! The only flaw about this joint is the parking. Their parking lot of really small. But other than that, service was great! The food was fantastic! The venue was welcoming and warm. I had a great dinner here tonight. I'm happy I got to check this joint out while staying here in SLC.

It was less than a half a mile from the medical center. Walking in, the place is clean and modern. I got sat at a small table. I creeped out the menu on the way to the restaurant so I knew what I wanted. My sweet server dropped off my water and I ordered my bowl of SoMi special pho. My bowl of pho was beautiful. You can see the meatballs, fatty brisket and steak of some sort. The broth we very rich in color. And you can smell the aromatics used to make the broth. The broth was very hot and savory. The steak (they serve wagyu so I'm assuming it's wagyu) was tender. I love that kept part of the fat on the brisket. It was tender and rich. You also got a good amount of meatballs too. I did notice that you got a decent amount of noodles but it's on the lesser side than more. I guess it's good I wasn't that hungry cause on a normal day I probably would have left hungry cause of the amount they give you. Their "special" pho is pretty basic. I order the Back Rib Pho large size and my daughter would order the Oxtail Pho regular size. It didn't take too long to get our order within 5 min. I feel the regular size has the same amount of rice noodles as the large size but only difference is bigger bowl which i felt cheated on my rice noodles so I dink one star off. What impress me is the presentation on the Back Rib Pho as it came with 4 bones on my bowl. Let's start with the broth, it's a bit on the sweet side like sugar was added to the broth. As for the rice noodles, I felt it was just too soggy after eating it and maybe they just boil too long in the hot water. The main show is the rib bones, they literally ruin it...VERY HARD TO CHEW! So dont expect to fall off the bones so I dink another star off. Even the Oxtail Pho felt the same so it ruin my expectation for falling off the bone mentality.
