Once done there we sailed to Caulker Caye and The Split. Had 40 mins to walk the island which was stunning. Then we came back aboard for a slow cruise back to the dock and caught the sunset. The entire crew was so much fun & the service they provided to each of us that day was hands down the best I have ever experienced. We came to Ambergris Caye for our wedding which was originally going to be just the two of us & over the course of a few weeks we had 17 others that joined us. The plans kept changing as the group became bigger but Linda & David were easy & accommodating during the planning & the communication was outstanding. Even that morning we had a handful who were unable to make it as planned but they still accommodated the sudden change without any hesitation or issues. The weather was not cooperating & we had some doubt on how the day would be with the rain. The minute the crew showed up to meet us we knew regardless of the weather we were going to have a great (Wicked) time! His crew consisted of Mags the cook, Chilo, Denroy and Eddy. We traveled out to the barrier reef where 3 of the crew members helped our group get snorkeled up and into the water. They took everyone in a group for about 45 minutes of amazing snorkeling. There were fish galore, sea turtles, nurse sharks and sting rays. They even taught some of the stronger swimmers to dive down and get a closer view. Most of the group had never snorkeled before. Everyone said that was the most amazing experience. The crew was so patient with the younger kids whom were a bit nervous, and the older adults that just ran out of steam. After the reef we went to Hol Chan and swam with sharks and sting rays. We probably spent another 30-40 minutes snorkeling and swimming. We were served an amazing lunch of shrimp, chicken and beef tacos when we got back on the catamaran. We then continued on to Caye Caulker where they took us to the tarpon feeding area and then let us explore Caye caulker for a couple of hours. After getting back on the cat for the relaxing trip back the Ambergris Caye they served shrimp ceviche and chips. The entire trip they were providing coke, sprite, water, beer and rum punch. My family all decided this was the absolutely best excursion they had ever experienced. They loved every minute. A HUGE shout out to this amazing crew. They were fun & informative telling us about Belize, the reef and all of the things we were lucky enough to see. I had a Permit on line with the very first cast of the day, but couldn't land it. My hopes weren't very high, given this was my very first salt water fly fishing trip for Bones. I was hoping for 1 or 2 Bones, but by the end of the day, I had boated 12 Bonefish and had another 10 on line that I didn't boat for one reason or another. 20-25mph winds, with gusts at 30+, certainly presents its challenges for fly casting, but Darrel does a great job positioning the boat so your back casting into the wind and shooting the line with the wind...so work on your haul / double-haul before making the trip.
