I swung by on a rainy Wednesday night upon recommendation from a local friend
It’s a decent place — it’s quaint, quiet spot with parking, local beers on tap, and I like their concept of guest beers on tap.
Food — also good, nice warm olives and toasted bread with honey drizzle.
Drinks — they make their own liqueurs a la Campari which looks really good!
Service — oh dear lord! There were 3 people, two of which were so lovely until one of the unfriendliness bar person — someone mentioned “wench” below — came out to play. The whole vibe shifted.
I’m visiting from interstate and have been trying a few local beers and ginger beers and I was asking about the two beers and how they compared, to which she responded — rudely “every drink is different — d’oh! — you just have to try it yourself” referring to the unopened can. She had a sour face with us all evening, and we didn’t try the other drinks.
Seating: she seems annoyed that we’re seated where she makes cocktails (see below— those ice glasses aren’t our drinks). She also kept pushing our food, as we were eating’. We would have been fine to move if asked. Or simply, reserve this area.
This attitude is a real shame in hospitality and wouldn’t return. The others were lovely prior.

Venue - spotless & comfy. It was a cold, wet, winter day and yet both inside and outside were warm and welcoming.
Staff - friendly, knowledgeable, approachable, accommodating, and welcoming.
Food - delicious & exactly as described.

Drinks - delicious and a great range.
Atmosphere - amazing. Especially when the live musicians started and we got to enjoy their "jazz".

The 5 stars are for the lovely young barman who dropped a bottle of chilled water on our table with some glasses. Nice touch, sobered us up, prolonged our visit. Great service, quite old fashioned in a good way.

We recently did the cocktail course at Republic of Fremantle and loved it! Blake our host was fantastic — really knowledgeable and made the whole experience fun and engaging.
We learned about the distilling process for gin, whiskey and vodka, enjoyed a spritz on arrival, and then made three delicious cocktails. Such a great mix of learning and tasting, with plenty of tips to try at home. Highly recommend for a fun night out or unique experience in Fremantle!

Always wanted to come here and try the food from one of WA’s esteemed chef’s. Well today was the day and boy did it deliver. Set in a rustic setting this place serves pretty tasty food.
The beef chop chop nacho was so good that we ordered a second one after our mains in place of dessert. The milk bun ramen fried chicken, pork jowl, beef tritip and white asparagus and truffles were yum 😋 The chicken nugget was pretty average and the hype was more than the taste.
Service was attentive and the drinks were good as well. An enjoyable meal but the food does take a while to come out. So do factor that in, but if you are in no rush, have good company and plenty of drinks then it’s all good 👍🏽

5th December 2024 - We booked dinner here as part of our alphabet experience for 2024 - "Y". We were visiting here from Sydney and we had been down at the Margaret River region for the day and was running late for our reservation - thankfully the staff were so accommodating given we were a little late. There was street parking directly out front of the restaurant which made it easy to access.
The food was delicious and the menu was extremely difficult to choose from as there were so many fantastic dishes listed.
However, we were tired from such a big day and whilst we would have loved to have spent more time and trying a few things, we ordered 1 dish each and then headed off.
The only difficulty was it was quite dark within the premises and whilst this might suit a lot of people - it wasn't our thing.

Dined at Young George this past Saturday.
A very wet and quite cold day, this chill was felt within the restaurant as the main door remained wide open throughout our service period.
Beef Tartare was as I remembered, very nice. Duck Fat Potatoes also really nice. The Pork Cheek however was a puzzling dish, very little meat - pork fat overload, accompanied with Charred Cabbage and for a better term, Apple Kimchi Salsa, the dish was underwhelming from the main ingredient to the uninteresting presentation. Definitely needed the Apple Salsa. Belly Pork or Pork Hock a much better cut choice for this dish.
We also had a Banana Bread Pudding type dessert, very nice. Petit Fours pretty average and quite expensive.
Coffees were really good.
Service was very good, very attentive and professional.
I will go back, being a bit more savvy with the menu options.

It was exceptional, I don't love many breakfast spots - often think I can have a great brekky home - but honestly this was next level. Do yourself a favour and try the weetbix (reimagined) and the cheese kransky and potatoes with hollandaise! And Don't forget the coffee order.

We celebrated my Dad’s 60th birthday in the cellar at Young George, and it was fantastic. Perfect space for 20 people. The space had a great atmosphere for a private event, and the food was absolutely amazing! High quality, full of flavour, and beautifully presented.

Stumble across this place while looking for an afternoon snack after checking into our hotel. We ordered a cheese fondue and meat terrine. The food is very good size and tastes fantastic. We had a glass of recommended red and white to go with our food and finished off with some sparkling with Chambord and nectarines as a dessert drink. Tables of empty drinks except for them remaining filled with ice showed it wasn’t just ours. When we removed the ice from the drink we were left with about 100mls max of liquid and froth for a $12 cocktail. Birthday girl not happy! Disappointing and sneaky. Ask for no ice.

We recently had our school reunion in function Room 1854. It was a fantastic location in Fremantle and the history of the hotel was appropriate for our 50 year reunion. The private bar, the facilities in the room as well as access to the balcony area overlooking the cappuccino strip was very much appreciated. We’d booked on the reserve list for 7.45pm on a Friday night but it was full so we booked at 8.45pm and went next door for a glass of wine & crumbed squid while we waited.
Once upstairs in#theoldsynagogue we were treated with excellent attentive service from a variety of waitresses as we decided to order the $72 set menu.
The waitress did say it was a lot to eat & we could take a doggy bag …2 hours later & we’d managed to get through the entrees & the grazing dish & attempted a bit of the mains before conceding for the doggy bag! We finished with the generous selection of desserts.
I highly recommend this venue for its excellent food serves, attentive service and warm ambience.
My only suggestion would be to try to dim the lighting in the evening 😊.

We hadn’t been to Jetty previously- we waited for Staff to take a drink order as Matteo did not explain the qr process. Anyway once we asked then we ordered.
Finished our beers….almost 50 mins later the two glasses were removed as staff walked past empty handed repeatedly.
Food was very good. We only took home a meal as my wife thought I wanted my own meal ie I just wanted to share one meal.

Finally a place to have some good time and some fun for hospo people, with the dj playing and a lovely vibe. The lamb shoulder is to die for and I really loved the wine selection, some classic and some new funky wineries for people like me who love to try something new. More of a 4.5 ⭐️ Spacious and rustic venue that pumps really tasty food. The beef tartare was the best tasting dish of the lot and was so good. The bone marrow was a hit and the clams were ok. Foccacia was nice with the garlic and oil, beef rump was ok, braised beef pasta was delicious and was cooked al dente. Salad, hand cut chips was good.
But was eager to try the fried chicken with caviar. Let’s just say my expectations were higher. The bar was well stocked but the cocktails could do with a bit more variety.
Overall a pretty good experience and the food was good. ✅ All the boxes of a good day or night out with great food and drinks.

Love this place, food is always good, vibes are great. However, I did ask the bartender for a classic cocktail to which I was told “no, I’m only making what’s on the board”. Unfortunately the 2 listed on the board weren’t to my taste so I went for a wine instead. Would have been nice to see that kind of service from him at H&C, considering everyone is always so nice and accommodating, and it wasn’t busy at all.
Apart from that, will happily return again.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Metropolis. I was asked to leave the venue without any explanation. The reason? I briefly rested my head on a friend’s shoulder with my eyes closed because I was tired — and somehow, the staff assumed I was on drugs. For the record, I don’t even smoke cigarettes, let alone use any substances.
The tall blonde security guy was incredibly rude and dismissive. He refused to listen to me or my friends, even though they clearly explained that I was simply exhausted and not under the influence of anything. His attitude was unprofessional and completely lacking in basic respect.

Terrible experience with the security staff. My friends and I were kicked out of the club for no reason at all, and the bouncers were incredibly rude and unprofessional. No one could give us a proper explanation — they just acted with arrogance and zero communication skills.

A niche boutique gin bar with some wines and coffee. We checked it out as it looked unique and were not disappointed. Great staff and knowledgeable on gins, a couple of white and red wines including a port with a signature orange peel and plum flavour (top tip, try with ice and lime and works do well on a hot day👍). We also had a bit of a wait and some initial confusion about how and where to order, but after they worked through a bit of a drinks backlog (understandably it takes time to make unique cocktails one by one), we were given the attention and care needed to explain our ingredient preferences for a cocktail to be created.
I paid $25 for each cocktail and would certainly come back to enjoy the cosy atmosphere and incredible cocktail creativity.

Nice little place tucked away down a side street. Has great live music and a nice range of alcoholic beverages. Also, they have a great range of non-alcoholic drinks.
Their food is nice but not something we'll come rushing back to. Surprisingly, my favourite was their brussel sprouts. Nicely charred and the grated cheese over the top made it 👌.
The space itself is chill (we were there for lunch and stayed till about 3pm) and is dog friendly!!

The biggest downside was the amount of vaping and smokers, almost every second table. It seemed there was no designated smoking section and because it was exposed and "outdoor" we got surrounded by smokers.
Parking close by isn't bad, and the Essex St carpark is the best bet.

The buildings are beautiful and very photographic. The building was once an insane asylum with the plaque on the outside near the road which looks like no one goes often. At the time of visit the exhibition was very small and I didn’t appreciate it, but others may. The gift shop had some really cool stuff in it and the staff were really friendly. When chatting to them they were telling us about past events which sounded like fun so the score may reflect on the day we visited. You don’t need my time to visit and it is free to enter.

Absolutely massive place. Great beer selection and great view over the Fremantle Harbour. Some tasty dishes, the prawns were my favourite and the beef tacos were quite nice too. Food is very expensive though, the prawns will set you back about $9.50 per prawns which is a bit nuts.
The cerviche was also interesting, but you need about 8 of them to touch the sides.

Came in for a quiet beer at Percy Flint, but the vibe was off from the start. The place looks decent enough, but service was a joke. There was this guy behind the bar with a ponytail who straight-up looked like a pirate straight out of some old movie eye patch vibes and all. Bartender forgot our drinks, served a large group of 6 that ordered AFTER us first, was EXTREMELY aggressive when I came to check on the drinks. Prawns were fresh and flavoursome, fish was tasty and moussaka although not traditional was an excellent vegetarian alternative. There's an awesome vibe as you walk in the door, with fab music and the chatter of friends.
The wine and drinks list is fabulous, with lots of great options by the glass or bottle.

Beautiful dinner experience at Sweetwater Rooftop Bar. The drinks and food were absolutely delicious. The atmosphere and vibe was lovely, it had something for everyone with the different seating areas and decor. We were served by Tyra who was beyond amazing, the best service I have had at a restaurant. Tyra was attentive and made sure we had everything before we could even ask which made the dinner experience its very best.

We ordered the lamb shoulder & got served literally about a Tbl spoon of meat after cutting away the huge layer of fat. The waitress apologised & replaced it with a steak.
I really enjoyed the music, but really didnt like the venue & wouldn't go again.

Went for the first time to watch the concert of Marcio Mendes and Lucky oceans and was pleasantly surprised. The place has a warm atmosphere and scrumptious menu. We had the prawn risoto and it was simply amazing. Highly recommend this place for an intimate, relaxing chilling evening.

Fabulous venue for fabulous musicians! Toby and her band were sensational in the intimate setting of Kidogo. I think we had one of the best seats in the house, for sure! The warm welcoming atmosphere that Joanna and Chelsea create sets the perfect scene for great food and service, and of course sensational music, all bundled up ready to devour during the whole evening! Oh, and you can get a cheeky sunset in to boot (with the right weather)!
