I’ve been through Linlithgow many times and had no idea there was even a golf course there which isn’t surprising as it’s located on the side of a hill overlooking the town with a narrow access road on the other side of a housing scheme. The car park isn’t the biggest but may be sufficient for the numbers playing the course. The pro shop and the clubhouse are a little bit drab from the outside especially from the rear but is functional enough when inside if a bit basic. The course itself is decent, interesting enough and while it is relatively short has some tight holes. The condition of the greens were quite good although I did find the tees and some areas of the course to be a little bit shabby. There are some good views on the course, towards Linlithgow Palace but also some poor views with Grangemouth oil refinery with its smoke and flame burning away in the distance. Overall I enjoyed the round and would recommend to come and visit for a round of golf even though I doubt I would want to return to play again since there are so many local courses to choose from. Giving the course a generous 4 stars out of 5 but I cannot comment on the food or hospitality since I didn’t use the clubhouse facilities other than the loos.
