We had so much fun on the train ride today. The people are so friendly & informative. We rode with the Easter Bunny today; it was so nice to have pictures with the Easter Bunny & our 3-year-old.
This year we got to take our 4 year old on the "Hot Chocolate Train". A nighttime ride with Santa visiting each & every child during the ride. As always, the staff is super friendly & great with the kids. Santa took his time & made each visit special for each child. The hot chocolate & cookies were delicious, while listening to Santa read the "Night Before Christmas".

The Santa train was amazing and truly nostalgic!! The gentleman acting as Santa is truly believable. This place is absolutely amazing! The university does a fantastic job of preserving the history and culture. Our tour guides were phenomenal! Very friendly, thorough, and informative. If you’re at all interested in Pennsylvanian German culture, this is a must. It’s recommended to schedule a tour in advance.

This place is probably one of the most underrated and unknown gems in our area. Perhaps I’m biased because I got my minor in Pennsylvania German Studies here, but it really is a one-of-a-kind place. This museum is so important because the Pennsylvania German culture is waning but guys like Patrick Donmoyer just might be the new generation to bring back awareness of our culture.

So many cool pieces of KU history, and the train exhibit in the basement is super fun, there’s 12 hidden cows to find throughout the train town, great place to bring kids or just spend a Sunday. If you love good food, good company and people this is the place to come. This little train car breakfast restaurant has it all. Yes it is very tight quarters; but, the conversation and the food will make you forget just how close you are sitting.
The portions are huge so being your appetite! You get more than your monies worth here. The hardest part about coming here is deciding what to get.
Everything is fresh and hot. Orders are made on a first come first served. If you are in a hurry ... forget it. If you want a seat be early or be prepared to stand until a seat becomes available.

The staff is a lot of fun.
Bring your appetite because you will get a giant portion of great food.

What an amazing find!! We stopped in unexpectedly looking for a late brunch spot and wow - just wow. The food is cooked to order but worth the wait. The ingredients were fresh and cooked in an open line kitchen. The plates were overfilled. My 'omlet' took the entire plate and I barely ate 1/3. Leftovers for days. The prices were extremely reasonable especially for the amount of food you served. They accept cash only so be perpared and Seating is primarily at the counter with exception of 4 small tables but it was worth it! You definitely need to stop here.

The only bad thing were the steak fries they were heavily overcooked but the service was great.

The food here is stellar and the service is decent. My family has been getting takeout here for years and my wife and I occasionally hit the bar. Last weekend we decided to go sit at the bar for a few drinks. When we entered, what appeared to be a drunk patron at the bar asked us if we have ID to which we responded, "Yes" and sat at the bar. We didn't think anything of it (because he appeared to be a customer) which clearly angered the gentleman. The gentleman who unbeknownst to us was a "bouncer" proceeded to then come over to us and ask us, "What's the problem?!". In summary, we were then informed that he is the bouncer and needed our ID which we provided. Afterwards he took it upon himself to toss my wife's ID back on the bar.
My advice: Don't discredit the drunk looking old man at the bar because somehow he may actually be their bouncer.

Great local place for specialty coffees and all things bagel. Love that every month there are new specialty drinks. My only complaint is that the specialty drinks are super sweet (makes sense given the college clientele), but most of the employees do a good job when I ask for "half of the sweetener" in my drinks. We usually do take-out, but also have eaten in and both have been excellent service and easy to do business with them.

The park seems to be well maintained and the grass was being cut while I was there. The parking area was unpaved. I think there are restrooms at the park but I did not visit it. Peaceful little park, was gonna sit for a while n have a peaceful walk, as soon as we scanned a QR code and read the article, they started mowing the WHOLE PARK. We are just passing by, of all the days, all the time, we got all of the mowing.

Beautiful setting and guided tour was very interesting and informative. Coolest part of cave tour was 54°, so you may want a light jacket. We visited on a weekday, so it wasn't very crowded. Gift shop was well stocked with shirts, caps and sweatshirts, also different types of rocks and geodes. I thought pricing was reasonable. Definitely worth seeing. Glad we went.

First time at Crystal Cave with the kids. Went early at 1035 am, had our tour at 1050 am. Nicola our tour guide was lively and very knowledgeable. The walk to the cave from the parking lot was steep. There was a 15 min intro movie before getting into the cave. The cave was cold so bring a sweater and wet in certain areas so wear the proper shoes. Cave itself was very interesting and such a nice learning experience. Kids wanted to do mini golf afterwards. It's cash only at the mini golf stand but you can pay by card at the trading post and they give you a voucher to take back. There is also a nature trail which we didn't get to do due to the impending storm coming in. The kid's got to do some gemstone panning which they truly enjoyed. Would come again as it was a lot of fun. We didn't eat there but looked like basic fast food. The gift shop was neat and there is a mini museum to see as well.

Nice little local place exploring in a Crystal cave.... the staff were nice and helpful... our tour guide Jamie was excellent while exploring the cave. Nice little gift shop, plenty of bathrooms that were clean. Plenty of seating areas for picnics. They have a small restaurant and an ice cream shop. Also a hiking trail if you want to walk around in the woods to see nature. I'd recommend you go early... it opens at 9am but things don't get rolling till about 9:45am for the first tour into the cave. By the time we were exiting the cave it started getting crowded but things were still flowing nicely. Overall experience was great, prices where fair on crystals, minerals and fossils. You can buy a bag of crystals or fossils and take it to the water truff to shift through and find crystals and fossils. My boys had a great time will visit again when we are coming through Rt422 into Reading Pennsylvania!

It was a hot day and when we went into the cave it was nice and cool. The climb up the hill was not my cup of tea. I enjoyed the blackout. The history in this cave is quite interesting. I could see people walking in mud 4 feet deep with only a candle to guide them. I can not imagine being stuck in there without light. Absolutely gorgeous space inside and out, delicious food and lovely wine! Our waiter was awesome and the new manager was super accommodating. The only reason it is not five stars is because we waited almost an hour and a half for the last of us to get our meals. Everyone else that was seated long after we were got their meals in a timely manner so I'm assuming it was just an off day and we will definitely be back to give it another try.

May 2025- went back a second time and absolutely loved it, although I will caution visitors that it has become super popular and you should make a reservation, especially on the weekend, but we didn't mind sitting at the bar and were well attended. This time around I tried the mushroom pizza and my husband had chicken Parmesan sandwich. Everything was spectacular! We thoroughly enjoyed the sweet yet tangy Riesling and the medium bodied very smooth Cab Franc.

Management staff, unfortunately appeared to have an attitude…and seemed “bothered” rather than gracious for their location, being chosen for this glorious day. Fortunately, family and friends had a fabulous time celebrating this beautiful bride & groom and prayerfully, The Newlyweds were not aware of how some guests and family were being treated. There are two buildings to see them and you should set aside at least an hour to know them all. The owner is very knowledgeable and very friendly. My husband enjoyed all parts of the tour. There are clean bathrooms nearby (a big plus for parents), and lots of shade from the mature trees that line the park. Kutztown Park is located just north of the downtown shopping district. I've been here before but today's visit made me realize how big the park actually is. One could get a good workout just walking around the park. It's not flat but rather hilly. I saw basketball, tennis, ball diamonds, and a skate park. Not many parks I visit have such a facility.
