Water and sand was very clean. Parking is easy. It is paid parking. But 10 bucks for the day. Not bad. Credit cards or cash accepted at kiosk.

Took senior pics of my daughter there, not as busy as other parks and easy access. We stayed to the southern end of the park. And had to go over the sand "dunes" (not big enough to be called dunes). But even those were great for pictures.

This is our go-to SW Michigan beach. Expansive and well-maintained beach with changing rooms and bathroom. Not as crowded as more popular beaches. Great spot to bring the whole family, and also large enough to find a quiet place for sun bathing. Parking cost is the same as Silver Beach in St. Joseph or South Beach in South Haven. Buy the season pass.

Silver Beach is amazing! So much fun! Everything is in walking distance! My family had a blast! They have a splash pad and a brand new park, food shops and ice cream shops. They also have a really good pizza place called silver beach pizza. Lake Michigan looks like the ocean and the water is so clear it's amazing! I highly recommend!

I absolutely love this place. It has everything you could want in a beach. It has a huge playground area for the kids, a ton of volleyball nets, lifeguards (weather permitting), a lighthouse, on the weekends a food stand, they have paddleboard and kayak rentals, bathrooms and a gorgeous view of Lake Michigan. Silver Beach Pizza and a ton of cute shops are near by.

Hot spot in St Joseph!! We were there after Labor Day and it was still fairly busy. A lot of room for people to find a great spot for the day. You do have to pay to park but I’m not sure how much.

There was about a 45 minute wait for our party of 11. The pizza was delicious. The crust has a very good flavor. Our children were given a small ball of pizza dough to entertain them while we waited for our food. The sides of the building were garage doors which were open. The fresh lake breeze was lovely. We had such a delightful evening with our nomad friends in St. Joe and chose Silver Beach Pizza for dinner. I can’t recommend it enough—10/10! We picked it specifically because of their clearly designated gluten-free and allergy-aware menu, and they truly delivered.
The pizzas were fantastic (and that’s saying something coming from a Chicago girl!). I’m not a deep-dish lover, but I do appreciate a great thin crust, and Silver Beach nailed it. We ordered the Garlicky Greek with dairy-free cheese, plus a gluten-free cheese pizza—both were absolutely delicious.
The prices were very reasonable, and the staff was super friendly and helpful, making the whole experience even better. I’d totally go back again!

Its it's own destination. Where you can be in a historic building, that is still an active train station for Amtrak. Then over look Lake Michigan with a huge beach available. You'll never be disappointed.

Was told there was a 20 minute wait, and we were sat within 7. Server was super nice and food came out quickly. I really enjoyed the Irish Nachos (loaded fries) and my mom loved the Bruschetta. This place was an absolute a blast to visit! The carousel is 15 years old and all of the figures on the carousel are all hand painted and hand carved, it is absolutely beautiful work! My fiancé and i drove an hour and a half to see this and walk around St Joseph and stop at local shops and was definitely worth it!

We love the Carousel, I love all the different animals that it offers, so fun for the kids to get to choose, praying mantis, giraffe clown, fish zebra, otter, tons of horses, pink flamingo, peacock, you get the idea. It’s fast and goes for a while which we loved! Great music, relaxing atmosphere, corn hole out front, rocking chairs, puzzles, coloring pages, stuff to look at, games, snack place and a gift shop. Very cool, our family had such a good time, years ago they used to sell Christmas ornaments that were the animals of the carousel and we looked forward to getting one when we would visit, unfortunately so didn’t see this then time around so that was a disappointment but other than that it was a wonderful experience for the whole family!

A wonderful beach that is truly a hidden gem. It's covered with pebbles. It's got the feel of a private beach away from the crowds. There is limited parking but it's free. There are restrooms but they are not kept up well...so be prepared for that. Overall it's a wonderful place to watch a sunset. Signs are posted that dogs are not allowed, however there were dogs on the beach both times that we were there...so in that sense it's dog friendly. The surf can be a little rough so keep your kids close.

My favorite stop during our vacation. Short walk ( ramp) down to the beach. Had sand and rocks at the water line. We found so many cool rocks and even some sea glass. There were some areas of shade at the Dune line which was nice. They do have toilets but they are the outhouse type ones that my kids hate, but better than nothing. There are two museums. This one is down by the carousel. The kiddos 7 and 5 all had fun. This one isn't too big. You can easily spend a few hours here. The little tots room was very nice. I did like that they had bins for “mouthed” pieces and someone was constantly walking around picking up and cleaning those pieces.

So, I had ordered the 500ml bottle of the Rosemary Olive Oil because I had bought some at the store when I visited the area for a wedding and fell in love with the place. Fault of my own, when placing an online order, it defaulted to my old address. Sadly, the new residents aren't such honest people and took the package. I know this because of confirmation of delivery and their neighbor, who I remain friends with, witnessed the delivery. Although, I had ordered the company to try to avoid the delivery my old address, it was unsuccessful because of the prompt delivery service (which is a plus). I informed the company, who was very responsive, and they didn't like the end result. They went above and beyond in sending me another bottle with a nice handwritten housewarming card. I have always been impressed with the number of different types of oils this business offers. And the staff is so knowledgeable about and helpful with choosing their products. I especially like the Tuscan oil for browning the ground beef that goes in my spaghetti sauce.
If you haven't been to the Olive Cart in downtown St Joseph, I suggest that you visit at least once. At the very least you'll be impressed and I'm betting that you're going to walk out with at least a couple of bottles of oil.

It's a great place to have w fun and enjoy the beach. I used to live in the area and moved in 1985 to Minnesota. This area was abandoned and in very sad shape. I came back for a 45 year reunion and was extremely impressed with the restoration of the area. There were a lot of people enjoying the beach and the the buildings were fully restored and improved! Really enjoyed walking around and at the top of the bluff on the St Joseph side they had vendors setup with antiques and yard sale items and food trucks! Very great experience. I really recommend going here. Lots to see and do.

If I could give this 10 stars I would! Every dish we had was wonderful! We had the beer cheese and pretzels, and the Tuscan cheese dip for appetizers which were AMAZING. My husband had the Michigan slice burger and loved it! He is a big fan of olives and they knocked it out of the park. I had the burnt ends melt, and it was phenomenal as well! We both had the truffle fries with our sandwhiches which were really good. The only complaint we had was the fries were just a little over done. I would rather them being over done than undercooked. I highly recommend this resturaunt for your visit! The service was phenomenal, the food was fantastic, and overall will be a must stop for future visits!

Came here on 04/18/2025, but haven’t had a chance to review it until now.
Absolutely amazing dining experience—-from the food, to the service, to the atmosphere! Right off the bat, the host was very welcoming and friendly! Our wait staff was Megan J, and she too, was very friendly, with warm smile and was attentive.
To start, we had the Seared Ahi Tuna. Taste and presentation was spectacular! In fact, everything was! For drinks, my husband ordered the Smoked Pecan Old Fashioned, and mine was the Spanish Coffee. Both were awesome! In fact, my husband ordered another glass! My little girl got herself a pineapple juice.
For the entree, I had the One Lobster Dinner. Right away after tasting it, I wished I ordered 2 because it was perfection! It was perfectly cooked, where it was sweet, tender, bouncy, and juicy! The clarified butter came in its own stand with a tea light candle right below it to keep it nice and warm!
My husband ordered the Seafood Pasta and he, too, loved it! My daughter wanted the sirloin from the kid’s menu, so we ordered it medium. It indeed came out perfectly medium and ir was already sliced for her.
For dessert, I ordered the crème brûlée. It was a huge portion meant for sharing, except that my husband was too full to share. My daughter being too picky didn’t even touch it, so I couldn’t finish it myself. I wish the caramelized sugar was just a tad thicker because that’s my favorite part!
Overall, I can’t wait to be back again! Highly recommend!

I celebrated my birthday at Main 221, and the service we received from Laura (our server) and Crystal (the bartender) made the night absolutely unforgettable. My husband made the reservation, and before we even arrived, the team reached out to him via email to confirm details—such a thoughtful and professional touch.
When we were seated, there was a beautiful birthday card waiting on the table, and from that moment on, Laura took amazing care of us. She was warm, friendly, and incredibly attentive throughout the entire evening.
Crystal, the bartender, went above and beyond as well. She noticed we were fans of Old Fashioneds and came over to chat with us about different styles and flavor profiles. She even crafted two special Old Fashioneds that weren’t on the menu just for us—such a fun and memorable experience!
On top of the great service, the food was fantastic. I ordered the whitefish, which was absolutely delicious—and it even tasted phenomenal reheated the next day. My husband had the garlic ribeye and loved every bite.
To finish the night, they surprised me with a celebratory cookie skillet topped with a candle. It was such a thoughtful gesture and truly made my birthday feel special.

We were staying in the area for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We heard great things about this spot and knew we had to check it out. What an amazing experience and restaurant! 221 Main restaurant was magnificent! Located in St. Joseph, Michigan, this restaurant is a great date spot for adults to let their hair down, dress up, and enjoy amazing food. If you decide to go, it's best to get a reservation.
The food is so good! Very delicious looking plates and great tasting! We enjoyed the steak and pork chop. As an appetizer, I enjoyed the calamari. The drinks were amazing as well! We enjoyed a drink without alcohol and of course, I tore the water up. Lovely food!
The service was amazing! All the servers were kind, on top of their work, and are very good with the menu. The water came at great pace, and the meals came hot.
The atmosphere was classy and inviting. I loved the dim lights and the adult feel. I appreciated the decor and the beautiful walls. Everything looked perfect!

We ate at 221 Main for our anniversary tonight and wanted to compliment this restaurant on every aspect! My wife and I were in the restaurant business for 10 years and absolutely loved the atmosphere, food and service here. I ordered the Mac and cheese (usually a steak guy) and I’m glad I did and it was amazing. My wife ordered a steak and it was perfectly cooked. The spinach artichoke dip with the house made chips was delicious. I wanted a salad and was going to get a house salad but our server, Crystal, recommended the Caesar salad. I’m glad she did.
Crystal was an excellent server. She made sure that everything was perfect. We overheard her interactions with another guest that was unhappy at the moment with how her food was cooked, but Crystal explained sous vide and how the color would be different and it made all the difference. She then followed it up with a manager to ensure the guest was happy.
We complimented Crystal when she came back on her handling of that situation and told her how awesome our experience was as well. She then went and got the owner who came over to talk with us. Robert talked with us for about 10 minutes about the area. We are so impressed with this restaurant that we would drive the extra time just to dine here again. The food was great, but also the service and experience were top notch! We’ll be having breakfast at their sister restaurant next door this weekend now too.

Went with a party of 9 for a bachelor party. Food was great; strongly recommend the Garlic Ribeye. It was just the right vibe we wanted. Our server, Crystal, was attentive and charming. There were some minor issues with service that I only want to point out to be constructive. To be clear, the service score isn't a knock on our server in particular; there were just a few hiccups, while easy to overlook because we were enjoying the food and having a good time, that need to be noted. Please be more attentive with the glassware; we had to send two glasses back. Additionally, we were charged for 5 appetizers but we only had 4. I didn't catch this until after we left.
Nearly a perfect experience. If we were locals, we would certainly return.

Me and my wife come from culinary backgrounds and we came to 221 Main with high expectations. The overall experience was not bad, but not good. We were there for about 2 hours and most of that was spent waiting. It wasn't busy at the time. The food could've used more salt on everything. The thing that baffled me the most was paying $19 for one crab cake. If I'm paying lots of money at a expensive restaurant, I hope to get my money's worth and mind blowing food. I did like the look of the restaurant very much, but couldn't get the overall vibe. I feel like this place has great potential, but it was under delivered today.

We were on our way home from Holland, Michigan to Middle Tennessee and decided to take a quick stop in Tiscornia Park in St. Joseph to see the lighthouse! It was a blustery, chilly Thursday morning and so hardly anyone was there. We paid $3 to the machine in the parking lot to be able to stay for 1 hour. At the end of the parking lot, there is a sidewalk that leads out to the lighthouse pier, so we were able to get out to the pier without having to walk through the sand or take off our shoes. We were able to get pretty close to the lighthouse but the wind and waves were too wild to try to go all the way. It was a beautiful spot. I imagine on a warm day the beach at the park is full of beach lovers. But the day we were there it was empty. The sand looks very clean. Despite the old-looking door to the bathrooms, the restroom was surprisingly beautiful and clean. There are also showers to wash your feet.
It is a little difficult to get to the park on very bumpy brick-paved road, but it was well worth it!

Great beach! Beautiful sand and view of the lighthouse. The hill of sand back up to parking was rough but worth it. The water is also shallow for further distance out than other beaches we went to which my 6 year old liked because it felt like she was further out.

Krasl Art Center is a great place to see rotating exhibits, shop local handmade goods from jewelry to dishes. Krasl Art Center also offers classes and free virtual programming.
Krasl also has a beautiful lawn featuring multiple sculptures. Krasl boosts 40 sculptures placed w/in a 3 mile radius of the art center.
The staff and volunteers are knowledgeable and very friendly.
Krasl Art Center is definitely worth a stop everytime you're in the area because there will always be something new to see.

I attended the Krasl Art Fair Block Party for the first time. I hope it's not the last! There was outside music, games, photo ops, food trucks and drinks. The greeters were very friendly and engaging. Also, there was an opportunity to visit the art on display in the Krasl, including the increduble Chihuly light fixture in the entry.
The Orange Dream shave ice was delicious, playing cornhole was fun, the art thought-provoking. I enjoyed the hands-on art opportunities, the gift shop, and the amazing restroom. Also, a lot of planning was put into planning the physical spaces and people flow. Thisvevent was a great lead-in to the Krasl Art Festival Weekend.

Complete underwhelming experience. Been here a few times because we love the ambiance, that said, this visit was a reminder that atmosphere only goes so far if the experience doesn’t match.
The younger staff has always been great, friendly, attentive, and they usually make the coffee for you and bring it to your table. This time, the older gentleman at the front took our order and seemed less than interested in providing good service. I ordered an iced coffee with creamer… Instead of preparing the overpriced coffee for you, there was an uncovered metal bowl of half-and-half sitting out for self service. Not exactly the warm, thoughtful service we’ve had before…
We also decided to try the avocado toast for the first time… and probably the last. It was barely toasted sliced bread with avocado that was cut like a child’s meal. No seasoning, no garnish, no creativity. At $12.50 (plus $3.50 to add an egg), it felt more like something you’d throw together at home than a menu-worthy dish, especially at that price point. One of the younger staff members did end up bringing some seasoning and sliced tomato to try to recover the sad $16 sliced toast.
Details matter, and that’s what keeps people coming back. This time it was a dud.

I didn't like that. The value for money for the food is also not the greatest, maybe even bad depending on what you get. I got the Santorini Grilled sandwich, which is basically just a prosciutto grilled cheese, but I thought it sounded good so I ordered. It wasn't really that special, and for $16? Mm mm, that's a rip off.
Verdict: Slow, and a bit rough around the edges, but they do have great coffee and a beautiful interior if you're willing to put up with the negatives.

Found this spot while looking for breakfast and it has good reviews and it looks cool. And it does looks cool. Very artsy. Plants and birds everywhere, art work everywhere. All the furniture probably refurbished from somewhere. Doesn't look like a typical cafe at all.
Breakfast was a hit. I got a full plate of eggs and beans. Goes well with my iced coffee. Iced drinks should have served in glass instead of plastic cup but whatever. It is a little bit more expensive than typical breakfast place.
Parking is a problem like everyone are saying. They have a separate parking lot by the roundabout.

This is probably one of our favorite beaches up in St Joe.
We go here quite often love it not overly packed the beaches are small and separated by old Pier anchors and walls.
The water is very clean and usually warm and the beach is not rocky.
There are several pictures from a couple years of visiting.
The last pictures are the most recent of a big storm that just happened a few weeks ago!
It was a giant lenticular cloud with clouds that look like Claws hanging from it it moved in very fast from Chicago went from 97 degrees to 73 in 10 minutes.

Very nice place to enjoy the beach and Lake Michigan. Not too crowded either for a Saturday. We parked on the street and walked into the park. We had shade trees which were perfect for the 90+ temperature. Note, there is quite a drop off to get to the water. Tons of sand on this beach.

One of the best courses in the area, and probably a top 10 in the Midwest.
An extremely well-maintained track, and each hole is designed to give the golfer a challenging shot off the tee box and on approach. Greens are fast and roll true.
Bring extra balls, as there is a lot of water to navigate.
Golf carts are excellent, and the GPS screen with hole layout and distance to pin was very helpful for first time players at the course.
The pro shop has a nice selection of souvenir choices. Food choices in the restaurant were delicious, as our group ate lunch after the round.
One of my favorite courses to play in the region. And worth the extra price.

I recently had the chance to play at Harbor Shores, and it completely lived up to the hype. This Jack Nicklaus course is an absolute gem. The conditions were immaculate from tee to green.
What really makes this course special is the layout. You play through four completely different environments – it feels like playing four courses in one! The stretch of holes (7-9) through the dunes with views of Lake Michigan is absolutely breathtaking and worth the green fee alone.
Be prepared for a serious challenge, especially on the greens. They are fast, undulating, and have some crazy tiers (looking at you, #10!). It will test every part of your game, but it’s a fair and incredibly fun challenge.
The staff was welcoming, and the amenities are top-notch. It’s definitely on the pricey side, but for a special occasion or a memorable round of golf, it is worth every penny. Can't wait to come back!

Great spot to get away from indoors to enjoy the lake breezes! Mind you the weather is pretty unpredictable and during winter it is extra windy this chilly so keep that in mind when visiting the area. The walking path is newly paved and nicely decorated while covering a fair distance. You can get fresh air, exercise, and scenery. They tend to display decorations during the according season and there is a few monuments for veterans and law enforcement which was pleasing to view.

We discovered this lovely walking park after spending some time at Tiscornia Beach Park. There are a series of informative signs that start at the war memorials and go through to shipbuilding and dredging the St. Joseph Channel to build the harbor. It was a nice, quiet and easy walk on the bluff. Lots of free parking nearby. I especially liked seeing the lighthouses we had walked to at Tiscornia from afar. The swing train Bridge was another highlight.

Even at 55F with a chilly wind, braved the waters and can't miss the opportunity for a dip in the lake. The bathrooms are an issue right now. Men's sinks are wrapped and closed. 1 of the 2 toilets is in need of some major cleaning. There are not a lot of folks around which makes it extremely comfortable. May review rating after Memorial Day to bring it back up (if improved)

This stuff isn't cheap, but you can feel about your purchase, unlike at the plethora of fast fashion stores in Berrien County. The owners were very warm people, taking the time to talk through items at the store and seeking to help us find what we are wanting. One odd thing, we came in once on a Sunday afternoon when Google Maps and the sign on the door both said "open" and "we're open," respectively. As someone who grew up in Florida, this beach was an absolute delight. The playground right up against the beach made for a great time for the kids as they got playground time, time to play in the sand, and time in the water. Everything is so close they can go back and forth with easy supervision. The water itself was nice and the crowd level at this beach is great. You can see Silver Beach from here and it is absolutely packed! So definitely a nice little hidden gem. Also very cheap parking with plenty of spots.

Hands down one of my favorite beaches ever, especially to catch a majestic sunset, no matter what time of year.
There is a myriad of things to enjoy on and around this beach. It has a playground, volleyball courts, the Howard Walking Path and restrooms available. There are three shelters available for rent that have grills and electricity. Perfect for a gathering of friends and family.

Such a wonderful place to spend with your family. Sandy spaces everywhere, picnic tables, volleyball nets, benches, restrooms, swings and porch swings to view the sunset, a playground that never seems to end. The playground is for all ages. My husband even had a go.
We tossed the frisbee around, stacked river rocks, played in the sand close to the water, and just enjoyed ourselves while the girls made a few vacation friends.
