This old church is the overnight resting place of Queen eleanor on the funeral route to london. inside the main aisles the original building line can be seen from the old doorway that is nearly 3 foot from the floor inside. many well preserved floor brass and stone flags remembering the great and good of the county. An old walled up doorway to the tower sits to the left of the main door into the church inside and the stone flag stairs are still in place behind the walled up door. the slit windows can still be seen from outside in the tower corner

We have been seeking a church. Attended two services at S. Andrew's. The services were fine. However, as new comers we felt very much out of it. Although there was a general 'welcome' and invitation to stay for coffee, no-one spoke to us. The vicar stood a few feet from us but 'didn't see us'
One would have thought someone would be keen to get new members into the church, especially as there is a significant shortfall in finances. We were potential givers, probably giving £several hundred per month, so, even from a mercenary point of view, one would have thought welcoming new comers would be on the list of priorities.
Not everyone is pushy and one shouldn't need to be pushy to get recognised, especially in a church. Still, this scenario is pretty common in the C of E in our experience so our search continues.
I'm sorry to have to post a negative review because we could see that there's a lot that's good in this church, but often church congregations become inward looking and comfortable in the way things are . I suppose complacent would be the word to sum it up.

Love this church. We had our wedding here a few weekends ago and it was magical. Everyone said the church looked beautiful with all the flowers the local ladies put together. Then the organist Gemma is brilliant. Finally fr Gregory performed our wedding ceremony and was brilliant. Fantastic day.

Such a lovely, welcoming church. Canon John is such a kind soul. He married my husband & I, it was a fabulous service (we opted for the short service) to accommodate the children. Then a year later we had our children baptised there by the Deacon who had everyone in fits of laughter. It is a really refreshing approach to prayer & suitable for all.

It's simply fastastic. One of the best places to be. I have never seen such a huge turn out of parishioners in my 14 years in Kettering. Canon John Koenig is an amazing and beloved shepherd. This huge fare well after working tirelessly for St Edwards for the past 25 years is well deserved. I am privileged to be there in person.

We came to Weston to have a look at the church and particularly at gravestones in the church yard.
My wife is related to people who are buried here but we didn't know if any graves would be identifiable. However, we were in the area, so thought a visit was worthwhile, on the off chance.
It is an attractive, simple village church with parts dating back to the 14th Century, according to online research. We were not able to see inside as the church was sensibly locked.
Services don't appear to be often and this church is part, apparently, of a group of Welland Valley churches.
Did we find the graves? Yes!! The first headstone we came to, ironically. The Dexter family.
All in all an interesting visit on a cool and bright, sunny day and worth coming. More research to be done and the site of a later graveyard too.
