We started with a scallop each and shared the pork belly for our entrées. both were delicious, and I especially loved the fresh, salad that accompanied the pork. The steak was nice, reasonably cooked, but unfortunately a little bit tougher than I would expect for an eye fillet. We have visited a number of mid-range and high end steak restaurants and competitively unfortunately, the Black Cow didn't stack up against our favourites. The mushrooms and beans for the side dishes were quite nice, but the best side was definitely the potato galette that came with he steak. The bread was delicious, but of course you can't really go wrong there. It did take a while for the meals to come out, which wasn't that surprising given how busy the restaurant was. Service was fantastic, and this is primarily why I'm giving a 4 star rating instead of a 3.

We had dinner here during a recent stay in Launceston and were very happy with our meal. For dinner we had the Pink Ling served on bed of pumpkin puree and Asian flavoured noodles that worked very well.
