What an amazing class!!!! Chef Washington is awesome! Knowledgeable, friendly, and a great teacher. He showed up with "extras" such as a bouquet of flowers and bottle of wine for my date and I to enjoy after we cooked. It was a blast.

This was delicious and so much fun for my husband and I! Chef Washington is wonderful. He really knows his craft, his kitchen is organized and comfortable, and we learned a lot from him. He made us feel welcome in his home from when we first showed up until the end of the meal in the lovely dining room and place settings, which were such a nice touch. Chef Washington explained each step of the cooking process and struck a great balance between doing some of the cooking or preparation and then giving us hands on experience through all parts of the recipe. Safety and cleanliness/proper food handling were his priorities, but he made the experience very fun and interesting. He answered all our questions, like the reasoning behind cooking procedures. I would definitely choose Chef Washington again--this time bringing my teenaged kids. Excellent food and experience!

Joey helped my husband and I purchase some amazing pans! We didn’t know what we were missing out on and his recommendations were life-changing. He is extremely knowledgable on all of the products we asked about and was helpful in narrowing it down.

I have used blue ribbon’s services since 2019 for EVERYTHING from class parties at our house, their event spaces for all different sorts of parties, catering for my daughters’ private school, etc. They are always VERY friendly, EXTREMELY reliable and put together the BEST events with the MOST DELICIOUS food!!! I have never been disappointed with them. And I’m amazed at the constant creativity and new ideas they bring to the table for food and events. I also have many friends with very discerning taste and they have always been incredibly impressed with what blue ribbon accomplishes. They can do it all. And importantly, their staff is top-notch! Wonderful experience working with Blue Ribbon Cooking. They catered my wedding and every step of the process was exceptional. Everyone we dealt with there was friendly and kind. They were very understanding of any of our concerns and requests. We originally went to an open house they were holding so between that and the tasting we had with our contract, we got to try a variety of their food and it was far better than the food we had at other caterers we were considering. They also took all our guests' food allergies and restrictions seriously (unlike another caterer we visited who offered us a "vegan caesar salad" that was made with anchovies...).
Also we chose the option to hire our day-of coordinator through Blue Ribbon and working with David Short was a dream. He got our unconventional wedding concept from the beginning and was excited about it and happy to collaborate with us on it or talk through ideas. He was very supportive at every turn and such a kind and calming presence on the actual wedding day. He tried wherever possible to take stress off of us. He let us drop off decor and things to him in the days before the wedding so we wouldn't have to worry about how to get it there. When I realized we hadn't put any thought into the decorations for the ceremony itself he came up with a lovely design repurposing lanterns and greenery we we had gotten for the tables later in the evening. And he brought us a variety of appetizers for me and my spouse so we'd have something to eat after the ceremony while we were signing the paperwork.
I would highly recommend Blue Ribbon Cooking for any event. We will definitely be reaching out if we're planning future big events.

David Short helped make our big day as wonderful and stress-free as I could have ever wished for. He was incredibly warm and accommodating, even when I needed to add tables and glasses/plates to our package practically last-minute. We had a lot of guests with allergies, and he made sure everyone was well looked after, including making up a plate for my MOH, who has multiple allergies I was worried about accommodating. 10/10 recommend BRC, especially David Short as your Coordinator!

I told myself I was going to be adventurous and not order their signature paella, but I ordered the paella 😀 The flavors and seafood was cooked to perfection, and I had enough to bring some home as well. The wait staff was so attentive and recommended a delicious red (since I asked for red and enjoying their sangria) to go with the paella, so when she said it also tasted good with the gluten free cake I had to say yes. The food is really good. I tried Red Lentil soup. The quantity was a little underwhelming but the flavours were outstanding. The Burger was good too. Comes with fries and they can make it gluten free.
As for the dessert I tried their cheesecake. To be honest I liked it better than the cheese cake factory ones.
Overall no complaints on food or ambience. However they definitely felt understaffed. I think they can use one more person. They forgot our dessert and had to remind them again. Also had to wait for a good time for anyone to pay attention to get us the cheque. The place for sure gets busy on the weekends so having a few extra pairs of hands with their staff is going to help.

Plum Bistro was so good. Huge portions, fresh food and everything tasted so good I forgot it was vegan! Drinks are excellent as well. It’s a really cute place, it’s in some type of mall with lots of other restaurants and shops attached if you go down the stairs. Wait staff is super attentive and nice. Filled up at 7 on a weekday. The water has cucumber and orange in it, so refreshing! My friend got the eggplant parm and liked it a lot.
We got the oyster mushroom calamari lettuce wraps to share. It did taste like calamari!! And there were so many it filled us up. Could have shared with 4 people, we were only two.
My burger was good as well it’s a blend of impossible burger and their homemade bean burger. The fries were excellent, I scarfed them down. We got two desserts, the cheesecake was my favorite. It was very big. We also had the Apple pie with ice cream. The Apple pie was very buttery and rich. I was so full when we left. Prices are affordable.
If I’m in Seattle again I would definitely come back. A must for all vegans!!

My wife was dying to try this place out. Finally did today! So it's a self order kiosk. Take out and dine in. We dined in. The food was ready in like 15 minutes. The noodles were super fresh. I got carbonara with casarecce and added chicken meatballs and home made pork sausage. and my wife got the short ribs ragu with crest di gallo. We also tried the foccacia, the suppli al telefono, and the burrata. The only thing I honestly didn't like was the chicken meat balls. The taste was Okay but the texture was weird. Everything else was great. They even have someone check on you after you've paid and got your food which I wasn't expecting. You do have to buss your own table also, which i dont mind at all. There are restrooms, and it's street parking. There's a lot across the street but says for the burger spot only. We will definately be back to try other menu items.

Lovely Italian restaurant. Party of 6 fit comfortably in there. Came here on a Saturday and it wasn't too busy and overwhelming with people. It was very relaxed and chill despite summer fest being right outside the doors. It seemed like 3 employees were working the entire restaurant. We didn’t know about this GEM in the middle of the city. Service has been outstanding, the food was marvelous, everything we asked for was done in the best way possible.
Extremely recommended for its amazing quality in food, excellent prices and service. The place is very clean and beautiful as well, we loved the rustic but modern, clean, calm and spacious aesthetic. It’s gorgeous how the sun comes through the big glass windows and hits every corner just right. Good and relaxed lo-fi chill ambience music in a very comfortable volume, you can enjoy it while working or studying, having brunch alone or in company, doesn’t compete with anything and no awkward silence.
We’re very grateful to have come across it on our trip through Seattle, already saved the place to revisit if we’re back in the city and we’re already thinking coming back tomorrow.

I had two specific occasions one time with a moldy Knafeh sweet (no expiration date) and another one with a deli meat that was tasting expired. Not a large shop, but well organized with vegetarian salami or pork salami, fancy cheeses and meats in deli case. Green peppercorns for your steak sauce recipes, pizza flour for your baked goods, wines, plus cocktail bitters of all sorts. Take your time and wander through. Not a bargain hunter's shop, but more of an upscale gourmet happy place. Friendly staffing.

Staff is not particularly friendly- they seem to actively avoid customers and I've had 3 separate experiences where 3 different staff members completely ignored me when I asked them how they were while checking out, which was strange. 🤷♀️ So, don't go for the customer service, but do go for great affordable wine and interesting imported mediterranean food. They also have parking available underground, but it's pretty tight and often full, so I recommend parking on the street.

I've been coming to PFI for 11 years and it always been one of my favorite hidden quirky places.
I always enjoyed the fact that unless someone took you to the old location you would never find it, it the back of a parking lot, in a warehouse by the railroad tracks.
The new location is completely different and while I miss the clandestine charm of the old spot the new location has so many modern amenities it's hard to argue for any reason other than being an old Seattle elitist that it's not a huge upgrade.
The selection is the same and at least for the time being they are open on Sunday now!?!?! What reality am I even in?
The nostalgic in me likes to think that even know the shiny new building that has a better location it still has some old PFI charm to find the shop. From the parking lot its in a door, up an elevator, through a door, down another hallway and another door. Wouldn't be PFI if you didn't have to work for it at least a little.

I wanted to share with others that the pizza here at the East Union PCC, specifically when it is made by Lee, is the best pizza here in Seattle. I am comparing it to other big chains here. It is delicious and is the closest to Brooklyn NY pizza I have had. And Lee is also super friendly. And the price for a whole pie, no matter what/how many toppings you get, is about 19 smuckeroos. Way cheaper than the other big names. I usually go with cheese, with fresh mozzarella, garlic, and either roasted chicken or sausage. Perfecto.
On a separate note, even though most everything else is kind of expensive here, eggs have consistently been the cheapest. Go figure.

My biggest gripe is the parking lot. The spaces between cars are super tight so if you have anything larger than a sedan, it can be a bit of a struggle to park. What a gem this store is! Super clean, well-organized and a wide selection of both basic and specialty items. There's a stand for sandwiches, cheese, pizza and of course the standard butcher counter. They have a surprinsgly good wine selection and some baked goods as well.
This is in the bottom of a housing complex, so parking is underground but well-lit and secure. Enter through the ramp on the west side of the building (22nd Ave). The first section is marked for PCC customers only and then the residential section has it's own gate. There's an elevator if you need it, but also stairs.

This store went from 1 star to 5 in a half hour! We got in the car without a receipt, looked up amount charged and it was 419 which was a shock! Quality has gone downhill. I used to always eat here but i wont return. The Parmesan cheese was so old it was chewy and dry- i thought they gave me pure rind. It used to not be like this. It's under new management recently (as of April 2024) but the name hasn't changed, and the inventory is FANTASTIC. Excellent selection of Spanish and French goodies (with more emphasis on the Spain side, I might add) and possibly the best Iberian wine shop in Seattle proper. (They have Toro, Rioja, Priorat...and every region is well-represented with reasonably priced bottles.) I also enjoyed talking to the staff about their favorite finds. Highly recommend!

Happy but a bit sad at the same time. Owners announced they closed since 02/01/2024 since they are retiring. This is one of the nice non-gentrified place I can find in Seattle. All the wines are of good reasonable prices and I just blindly followed the recommendations!
The next owner is harvest vine, a great BUT pricy tapas restaurant(almost over 70 per person) so I hope this place will stay not so expensive.

This place has everything you would want. Do you want tea? They have a dozen. They have spice blends as well as the raw material. (For example just cinnamon and nutmeg but they also have a spice blend)
The prices are very fair. I found butterfly tea for a steal. The bulk ordering can be done online super easily. We got 1 lb of tea and it was very well priced.

I was so excited to try a cooking class here. I bought a Macaron baking class for my mom and I. When we arrived, we were impressed with the kitchen store products. Such a beautiful store with great merchandise. Great place to get a special gift.
On the other hand, the cooking class was a major fail. Our macarons were burnt and dry. The chef seemed very unorganized and we were sharing ovens with other groups of people. It was run sloppy in our opinions. When I called the owner to share my experience, I was told it was being worked on only to receive a 50% discount in my email on the next class. What makes me want to go back? Should’ve fully refunded everyone or offered us a makeup class. I no longer recommend this place for cooking, only a great kitchen shop.

It was a lot of information are being shared in the class that it ran longer than schedule (originally schedule from 10 to 1 but we did not finish close to 2). Really glad that I attended as I learn better with visual. Brought home 2 loaf of sourdough, a chocolate cookies and also was not aware that lunch was provided with beverage. Got to experience the May 2025 Tex Mex cooking class and had a fun time as a group of 3. The class was at the back of the storefront in a very well set up teaching environment. I appreciated the drinks available (albeit limited selections) and overall the food portions (once cooked) were reasonable. Last week I visited Bellevue for a couple days and took two cooking classes here at Whisk. I can't give this place enough stars - it is a spectacular cooking class and experience!
From the time I walked in the door I felt very welcomed. The chef walked us through every step in a way that was fun and enjoyable and yet I also learned a ton. I walked away confident that I could recreate these dishes at home. And the food was DELICIOUS!
Whenever I travel I always book food and cooking experiences. Up until now my best cooking class experience by far was a Michelin Star Secrets cooking class I did in San Sebastian, Spain. Whisk is easily on par with that experience from the beautiful set-up of their demonstration kitchen, to the way they make everyone feel welcome and at ease. I will definitely be back to take more classes!

Took the Steak Night Classics class last night with Chef Barbara and it was a roaring success! The staff were so friendly, the kitchen modern and clean, and the owners also were around to make us feel welcome.

I go every time I see them on the schedule at one of the nearby breweries and everything I've ordered has been amazing. The muffuletta is great, and it's really nice to have the gumbo and jambalaya as options in the colder months. Good options for sides as well, and the beignets are incredible - better than most of the beignets I tried in NOLA. I was looking forward to this food truck as I have heard amazing reviews about how delicious the food is and especially in PNW, great Southern food is hard to come by. I also heard that the service here is great. My boyfriend and I caught them at No Boat Brewing and decided to bring our fur babies for a nice dinner. We arrived at the truck and sadly, the male worker seemed out of it and just in a apathetic mood, so it was uncomfortable trying to order. They didn't say much or anything about when to get the food. When I did pick up our food, I politely asked if the order was ready and not only do I not get a response or a nod, he just turns around and grabs my order before just giving it to me. No enjoy the food or thank you for ordering, and not even a ghost of a smile.
We got a small shrimp and grits, oyster po boy, and large jambalaya. The oyster po boy was the star of the order as it was delicious and one of the better po boys my boyfriend and I had, but it was also our first time trying an oyster po boy. The shrimp and grits were nothing to really write about and the jambalaya was just meh. Not sure if we came at a bad day but it's super unfortunate as I was really looking forward to this food truck for the longest time but it was the most disappointing Washington food truck that I have had visited.

Mangia Bene catered my son's wedding at our home. We chose a Mediterranean menu. Deb also made the cake. The food was fabulous--everybody loved it. The cake was both beautiful and delicious. Deb and her staff listened to what we wanted, provided excellent service, and did everything to make the wedding perfect. I recommend them highly.
