The room was clean and tidy and well kitted out with a bath and shower available. (원문) We have recently stayed at the Red Lion in Hythe when visiting for the weekend and I have to say that the room wasn’t a very nice place to stay in. First of all, we were directly above the kitchen and it was SO SO hot that not even having the windows open or the fan on (which was caked in dust) helped. When we did have the windows open to try and keep it cool, the noise level from the cars was astronomical and it seemed to go on all night. There was also a strange rattling noise coming from the kitchen window directly under ours which seemed to continue into the early hours of the morning (like someone was banging against the window). The bed was comfortable but in hindsight of everything else, it didn’t really matter because we couldn’t sleep anyway. We had a really long day on the Saturday so only having 3 or 4 hours sleep the night before wasn’t great. Aside from all of the above, the staff were very friendly, the food was great and the location is beautiful. (원문) I had high expectations for The National Crust’s pizza after reading many rave reviews on Hythe Residents Group, and it’s safe to say those expectations were more than exceeded by the delicious and authentically Neapolitan pizza on offer. I ordered the pepperoni, and particularly enjoyed the drizzle of hot honey on top. The garlic dip is perhaps the best I have tasted. I took the opportunity to pair the pizza with a refreshing Italian soft drink called Chinotto, which was recommended by the chef. The overall experience was a delight, and the service was stellar. It’s so great to see a group of young lads take the plunge and launch a new business from scratch.
