Last here 10+ years ago. So glad we were able to stop for lunch on our way through Macon! We had the Grouper Finger basket with broccoli, the Shrimp & Lobster Bisque, and a salad. One of the best designed and decorated restaurants in downtown Macon! The outside seating was very charming, as well. We are already talking about the next time we're able to eat there! Found this place on the way for a weekend trip to Savannah. After driving looking a little we settled on this place from Yelp reviews. Even though landlocked, wife had better seafood than some of the places we at at in Savannah. She said the shrimp and lobster bisque ranked up there as her all time favorite. Great historic location, easily accessible to I-16. Located in a great area for food, it was a nice stop with great service (thanks Stephanie) and atmosphere. Crowd was steady so they must be consistent. If we were local this would be a regular spot for sure.

Pleasantly surprised by Kudzu Seafood! We stopped in around 8 and grabbed seats at the bar to share one of their seafood plates. While we don’t typically go for fried food, we decided to give it a try—and it did not disappoint. The plate came loaded with catfish, grouper, shrimp, and fries—crispy, flavorful, and definitely shareable. Next time, I’m looking forward to trying their grilled options.

A huge shoutout to our waitress in the bar—she was phenomenal! Attentive without being overbearing, super knowledgeable about the menu, and just had this infectious enthusiasm that made the whole meal feel like catching up with an old friend. She nailed our recommendations and kept the drinks flowing seamlessly. If you’re lucky enough to get her section, you’re in for a treat.
Now, onto the food, which lived up to the hype. We started with the gumbo, and oh man, it was delicious—rich, perfectly spiced, loaded with shrimp and andouille sausage, and not a hint of being overly salty. It transported me straight to the bayou. For the main, the jambalaya was a generous portion that was hearty, flavorful, and packed with all the right Cajun kicks. But the real MVP? This place never disappoints! The food is delicious. We always start out with the Jezebel sausage and Rockefeller oysters as our appetizers. We tried today's special which was the Jezebel shrimp taco. The combination of sauce, cilantro, lime, and mango was superb. I can't wait for our next visit.

The food had good flavor, but most things were fried light, so some pieces of food were just right and the other was slightly under cooked. The inside of the restaurant was dark (so was the kitchen, missing lights or sections with not enough lighting, kind of scary) the lighting was strange for my eyes, I felt like I was eating with a bunch of desk lamps working to light up the room. But it was those soft white kind. The service was good, the staff was really sweet, and my server was kind of whispering, so it was hard to hear her, but she was attentive. I would recommend a visit, but they have some updating they should plan.

Heard a lot about this place so was excited to finally try it.
I get the feeling it's one of those places that's always been around and hasn't seen a need to update anything. Which, isn't bad but it does make the atmosphere look a little generic, the menu bland.
That said, the service was great. Friendly and hospitable.
My biggest issue was with the fried food. Which was everything. The batter isn't seasoned, so everything you order is one step away from tasting like everything else. This is especially true for the battered fries. Don't do it. The batter to fry ratio is about 1:1 and you have to chew through bland, fried batter just to barely taste the potato.
But the hushpuppies are great, the slaw is good and the in-house made Key Lime Pie is delicious. So get that!
And if you get dessert, you will: it's the only thing on the menu.

Boo and I took a trip to see my parents. We had a date night to ourselves. So found this place on Google and off we went. Convenient to where we were staying. Right off the interstate. It was ok. Worth trying once. Oysters were fresh but there were no interesting vinegar options if you don’t want horseradish and ketchup. The specials menu had no prices and the bartender said, “tell me what you want and I’ll tell you what it cost.” Crab soup was fine but there were no oyster crackers. I ordered the grouper blackened. It was fine but was like a meal you would get in a diner. I’m sure the regulars love it, but your money would be better spent downtown at the seafood restaurants trying to do something more interesting.

We started our dinner with the best crab cake I've ever had. I got the crab boil and my wife had the Cajun pasta. My wife had a Hurricane with her meal. For dessert we got funnel cake fries. The overall meal was fantastic. Five stars.

How's about a "Let's Eat" Review for Brunch? Today we decided to go to Parish on Cherry Street.
We got there shortly after 11 and the place was pretty empty, which surprised me being a holiday weekend.
I ordered the Bottomless Mimosas (because I was raised right 😂🤣) and let me say, whatever Orange Juice they're using, it is tasty and was impressive!
Had to try the Macon Bacon as an appetizer. It definitely is a MUST TRY. It's got this whole sweet smoked thing happening. They use the thick cut too, a personal fav of mine.
We tried the Eggs Benedict. While the taste was good, the eggs weren't poached, they were more like medium boiled and that was a disappointment.
I also got the Fried Chicken Biscuit. Later found out that they have someone come in every weekend to make the biscuits from scratch and it's evident. They were so good! The fried chicken was your basic breaded white meat and it came with Pimento Cheese. That was it. Pretty basic. I think a Fried Green Tomato on it would have made this a super star.
Summing it up...
The brunch was good, I don't know if I'd run back there for brunch but I will DEFINITELY be back for their craft cocktails and appetizers.

I was disappointed that they have a 3% surcharge for using a credit card. Honestly, I found it kind of lame. Credit card fees are the price every business owner faces. Build it into the cost. I found it to be unnecessary and at the end, it was less than $2 but it was the principle. Who carries cash anymore? 🤷🏻♂️
All in all, we paid $63 for two people for Brunch and while it wasn't bad, I feel like they're going to need to make some modifications to their brunch but I am excited to try them out again for dinner.

A bit disappointed with Parish on Cherry. The food was average or below at best. I'm not a discriminating eater, but everthing seemed over salted. My wife stated that her Red Beans & Rice was tasteless. She didn't even finish her small cup. I had the Po Boy fried oyster sandwich. It was pretty good. The best item was the fries. These maybe the best fries I've had in a long time. Everyone agreed that the hushpuppies were not tasty at all.
Our server must have been new or inexperienced. Several times we had to ask twice for something. Very nice guy, and he seemed to be trying very hard. We are a very laid back group, and as such we gave him a lot of slack.
The most disturbing thing that we experienced was the way our drinking glasse were handled something I've never experienced before. When our glasses of water needed refilling the waiter would grab up all the mug style glasses and take them back to refill them. The rims on the glasses were touching and we were certainly not sure that the glass returned to us was our glass. Water should be refilled at the table, or fresh glasses brought out to the table.
One person in our party was served warm beer. The manager replaced his beer with a substitute because the beer he wanted could not be served cold at the time. Another person in our group ordered a Blue Moon beer, but she was informed that they were out. A third person ordered one of Parish's signature cocktails. but they lacked some of the ingredients to make this drink.
Eat inside if possible. Traffic noise was pretty bad. Lots of motorcycles with loud pipes. Not Parish's fault, but we would have eaten inside if we had known that.
I might stop in for just fries next time, but nothing else.

My Shrimp and Grits were fantastic. Fresh shrimp, cheese grits, and flavorful andouille sausage. It is an award winner as stated on menu. My spouse's dish was Vege Gumbo with shrimp. It was over filled with rice and the overall flavor was pale.
The interior has character. It is a little dark inside. The exterior has a seating area, but around the corner, people were smoking in multiple forms and we choose to eat inside instead.

Let me just say Parish on Cherry was amazing! 🙌🏾 From start to finish, everyone was so nice and attentive. We had a party of 16, and they handled it perfectly! They had two servers,a host, and even the manager came over to introduce herself and make sure we had everything we needed. They ensure that our needs were taken care of they were very attentive! Prior to my lunch I have never been here and let me just say I made the right decision.
With a group our size and everyone ordering at different times they still managed everything smoothly. I was so impressed with the service! They even had another large party after us, but they never rushed us. The table was set up beautifully, we had plenty of room, and the food was absolutely delicious!

I have to say most restaurants you come in right before they are closed and in some way the quality or service is normally off but not this place. Service was friendly and ready to serve. The food…. Wonderful. Even 30min before closing everything was cooked perfectly and delicious. Everything was seasoned very well and made us excited to come back for brunch. So... The experience was amazing! The food not so much. Very disappointing. Grace was our server she was absolutely wonderful. And I'm not sure what the other lady's name was but we will call her Auntie! The most amazing beings ever. Had a great time with them both. They tried there best to accommodate and treated us so well. The sea food dip was ok. The bread was over cooked. Didn't take offense they were very busy. Ordered the mussels. With a creamy sauce. It was watery over cooked very fishy just not good. Sent back after trying to make myself eat it. Had like 4 to 5. Couldn't do it. Also ordered the white fish. Came out cold sent that back as well. Ordered the Beignet and they were covered with fried chicken pieces very disappointed and over all not cooked well. Not sure if I'd return especially after paying for food I didnt eat. They did comp us for the fish. They honestly did try to make sure we were satisfied. I am thankful for that!

Only small issue i had was right after Zudan, the server, took our drink order; he stood within view speaking w Mgr(?) for near 5 mins before he went to pour our drinks to bring to us. Justin was an excellent host/waiter. He knows his stuff. I was a lil disappointed because i actually went for the lobster dinner but that is only on Thursday. We had crab cakes, which wasn't that good. A bit too fishy for me. They also lacked seasoning. The lobster ravioli was good. Chris had the lamb chop dinner which was okay. Overall it was a nice spot for date night. I'll be returning to try the lobster dinner.

You need a reservation but we arrived almost an hour early and we were sat immediately on a Saturday. We sat in a private corner and enjoyed this place so much we will be back. It's a little pricy but the food is excellent! We decided to get a special for an appetizer and the prime rib for dinner as it's their special on Friday and Saturday night.

What an incredible discovery! My wife and I had hoped to dine at Natalia's, but they were crowded. Instead, I looked for another mom-and-pop style restaurant in Macon, and to my surprise, we found this gem. I'm so glad we didn't go to Natalia's. We were traveling through Macon and found this quaint little restaurant on line. it was located on a back street. The server was nice & polite. We both ordered the NY strip steaks. These steaks had to be one the toughest gristled meats that I’ve ever eaten. I told the server. She said she would tell the Chef.
There were no offers to discount the check or visit from the Manager, or even an offer to comp the desserts.
I Honestly don’t know restaurants like this stay in business.

Man when I tell yall this place is off rhe chain folks when it comes to food & service. I was blessed to meet the owner lady who was so so sweet & nice. I was blessed with the pleasure of being greeted & helped by Keynia who came out to the menu board to explain & assist me n making a great choice of items. I told her upon entering I was a Hungry Trucker from Big Dallas, Tx. She assured me I made a great choice by coming to "Saleems" & I would b happy n whatever I decided on. I must say, she was correct folks. The catfish sandwich, the slaw, the fries and the Talipia plate was cooked upon order and brought to me steaming hot and fresh. And the Red velvet cake was so damn moist & good until it wasn't funny. And then to have their Specialty homemade Lemonade 🍋 to wash it all down, was priceless folks. As a Trucker I make it my business to go to small mom & pop restaurant bcuz u normally get a better one on one service from people bcuz they know their business depends on it unlike the large businesses. Well I had my great time here with each & every person I encountered even the cook who told me my Truck was gonna get Towed. Lmbo.. He played a prank on me & we couldn't stop laughing about that. Lol.. I got to meet other longtime customers, family members of the owners & friends of theirs who were there to get their share of good tasting food too. Hell I felt as if I was a family member of theirs like the other folks. This was definitely one heck of a great, great experience with this business and I'll definitely be back whenever I'm in this area folks. Stopped by 1:00 pm Nov5! I gotten the 6pc whiting box and My first time there! Inside is very homey and I saw the prices and says been there since 1970s+! I ordered stepped outside about 10 minutes they were already done. When I opened the box I loved how nicely fried everything is! I love that when I took a bite it didn’t give fishy but a true nice fried fish! I loved the sauce. I loved how fast! I loved the cooking! It wasn’t overly seasoned but not under seasonings either. So it’s good for people with sodium diet but also good for someone who wants good food! I will be back!

I can’t remember our bar server’s name. I want to say Lindsay (started with an L) but I can’t remember. She was fantastic and had a great personality and made our evening enjoyable. It’s been a few weeks that we went and I’m just posting my review. She made a really great pomegranate martini. It was like drinking a jolly rancher. Just enough sweetness and she knew how to make a good old fashioned. She made our evening enjoyable and we sat there enjoying our time before ordering dinner. It was after 9 before we actually placed our dinner.
I ordered the steak and string and he ordered the trout (I think). Both had good flavor but unfortunately the fish was very overcooked and dry and my steak was well done instead of medium. The shrimp was tasty but a little on the smaller side. If you put “large or jumbo shrimp” I guess I’m assuming they are going to be pretty decent in size. Our server felt bad and the manager came over and apologized and we told her it was our fault for ordering so late. She did take a little off our bill even though that was not necessary. The atmosphere is great. There was Christmas music playing just loud enough that you could actually have a conversation and engage.
Despite our meal not quite meeting our expectations, the night was enjoyable, I didn’t leave hungry, and we will definitely be back.

I had such a great experience at Fish N Pig! I ordered the oysters and they were absolutely delicious, some of the best I’ve ever had. We had a blast the entire time! The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made everything even better.
The food was to die for, and the view? Just beautiful. I especially loved the deck area...it was so relaxing and fun to feed the ducks and fish right from where we sat. It really made the whole visit feel special.

A friend and I decided to dine in at Red Lobster (Macon, Ga) b/c I was dying to try the newly launched seafood boil and I will say, the food wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t amazing either! The drinks were yummy and the customer service was superb (our server was Jazmine). Additionally, we didn’t wait long to be seated even though they were kind of busy. The highlight of our dinner was the lobster dip (starter), therefore, I would highly recommend trying it! There is limited parking so be mindful of that as well…the pricing is affordable, but again the taste wasn’t anything to write home about. The seafood boil was a bit bland and no old bay was used and it isn’t served with eggs either. The garlic butter wasn’t even in the building 😫. But I will say this - try at your own risk - everyone has a different set of expectations 🤷🏽♀️ so hey, you may love it!

ALL of the staff were friendly and our waitress Chania continuously checked on us, was clearing plates quickly, refilled drinks and biscuits, etc. My problem was the food! the mushrooms were incredibly fishy (in the bad way) and I was SO excited to try the new boil in a bag. My bag came out and the shrimp looked like mini frozen tailless shrimp from kroger. The advertised photo and the plate i received did not compare. I won't trash this business with a 3 or 4 star overall rating but i want to point out a few things. Someone in another review pointed out it seems odd to name a place a steakhouse and have only one steak (ribeye). My food came out quickly and the server was very nice. The lady at the hostess stand didn't seem rude but she didn't have much spark. Someone else gave them a really bad review based mostly on the hostess. It's not possible for me to know if it was the same one but I have a feeling it might have been. She wasn't very personable and didn't give off a very welcoming vibe.
The grilled buffalo shrimp were cooked perfectly as was the fried shrimp I ordered along with my ribeye. The steak seemed to be of poor quality. It was tough and had a large section of gristle that I think should have been trimmed off. I would recommend anything seafood from this place but wouldn't suggest the steak.

The Hostess was very rude. Not sure if it was an off night for her or what. We debated leaving at the beginning but we decided to stay. We didn't have to wait long. The waitress was very efficient and cordial. The places ventilation for the grill needs to be fixed. I love the smell of steaks cooking but not so much in the restaurant I am eating. We did have the ribeye which is weird that it is a steak house but they only offer a ribeye and a chopped steak. More of a seafood place which is fine. Just don't think you will get options on the meat side.

This was my second visit to this place. I tried the fish, this time, because I had such a horrible experience with the burger (smoke flavoring or lighter fluid, not sure which, caused nausea and vomiting for several hours after dining) the last time I'd been here. I was hoping to have better reviews to offer on them. Alas, that's not the case. My fries weren't completely cooked and my fish was undercooked (still pinkish in the thickest part). They did cook another filet for me but, by the time it came out, I'd lost my appetite and barely touched it. I didn't bother eating the fries. I got a "to go" box and ate the fish the next day (not bad for leftovers) but the fries went in the garbage.
I'll give the server credit, she didn't miss a beat in noticing there was an issue and trying to correct it. She had a great personality. I wish I'd thought to get her name. I would recommend her.
I've never been a fan of "booth seating" where you can seat 2 or 3 people per side...because somebody is going to have to disturb the whole table if the need to step away and some poor soul isn't going to be able to relax because they're being asked to get up and let someone out. There weren't any table/chair seats available when we arrived so, I order to get seated expeditiously, we settled for one of their many booth seats.

This is a small venue but the food is delicious. I had grilled shrimp with grilled veggies of squash and zucchini, and everything was cooked perfectly with a crisp bite, not drenched in oil or grease like I've had elsewhere. The salad is just lettuce, a sliced tomato, and a red onion slice, with a tablespoon of dressing on the side, but that's okay, it's all I needed. The hush puppies were small and dense with a browned crust.

My wife and I were staying at a nearby hotel and I found this gem. We just missed the Friday night crowd and claimed a recently opened booth. We were quickly met by our server and ordered drinks and an appetizer. While most of the diners were raving about the various fish dishes, we were here to try the steak. A visit on a week day during lunch hours was great. Service and food was @ it's best versus a busy full house on days. Jonis, our server was great. Being that it was each of our first visit. The wings in their Macon house special sauce were amazing! My hubby had the crab boil he loved it! I had combo of shrimp and fish ! It was delicious! The coleslaw was delicious! It does need a bit of cleaning like the napkin holder and windows edge. There was a little dispute in the kitchen but it settled within a few minutes. But otherwise I will be returning. I spent right at $30 on my mobile order. I got the new deluxe seafood platter, the 10 shrimp with fries basket, I added 2 chicken tenders and a sweet tea. I got there to the intercom to let them know I was there to pick up my mobile order and the lady was extremely RUDE. Purchased my meals on 10/04/2025 using the app. This is a regular place I frequented a lot. My food is truly good for the most part. On this occasion things went terribly wrong with the food. I chose to order something different 2 4 piece dinners one with broccoli and French fries the other one a baked potato and Cole slaw. I’ve been a frequent visitor here and have tried nearly everything on the menu—Korean fried wings, deli-style wings, hibachi, seafood, Philly cheesesteak, burgers, and appetizers. Also you state the cost of chicken has gone up, yes I'm very aware of that but not the cost of frozen processed "chicken tenders" that were not even the size of my palm. I will compare them to chicken tenders you get ar hardees..they are hand battered and cooked fresh.
