Food on the other side, unfortunately didn’t excite us as much as we expected. The pasta were certainly all in the same kind of sauces and the white sauce just pure double cream with no trace of actual cooking sauce of frying some onion with garlic and the mushroom etc and make it a sauce out of it for the spaghetti funghi. It tasted like they boil the pasta and just threw the double cream on with some mushrooms and that was that. Same with the bolognese sauce, just canned tomatoes, and the lasagna sheets and cannelloni were overcooked and mushy. We waited over an hour and had ordered another bottle of wine to have with our mains when the very polite young waitress came over and asked if we wanted coffee or desserts to which I replied “we’ve not had our mains yet” This started a sequence of disastrous commotion starting with the waitress reporting back we’d not had our mains and then looking very panicked and taking the order to the kitchen. The restaurant is hidden in sort of corner of an alley however is easily accessible and plenty of car park within walking distance from the restaurant. The restaurant style and decor represents the authentic Italian style and the personal photos on the wall strengthens the feeling of that this is a family run business. The food in general was delicious, each meal was indeed fresh and the dessert was heaven. Not a lot of selection on the menu which I really appreciate in a restaurant. Makes choosing a dish easier and allows the chef to master them few dishes. In my opinion the amount and price of the meals are acceptable however I would not recommend the squid in red wine as it does not worth the price. I also missed the pizzas from the menu, as an Italian restaurant I would expect the place to offer this. Slightly bit on the pricey side for its value, size of portions and location in my opinion. In overall service was fantastic, dessert and focaccia was heaven and food was delicious. Plenty of Italian alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages and of course Pelegrino was on the menu. I would definitely recommend to visit this restaurant.
