Next, for mains, I had their calves liver for an additional £3. This one had a mushroomy aroma that was even stronger than the last dish. Flavour-wise, I found it quite interesting. The liver was very rare on the inside, which meant it was on the tougher, chewier side. Being liver, it also had a strong gamey flavour. The rest of the dish - the parmesan polenta, chantrelles, and sauces - were quite heavy on the salt and did help to counter this. That being said, I definitely had enough of the flavours by the time I was finished. Lastly, I was recommended the strawberry dessert. Although the strawberry cream was a bit grainy, everything worked very well together. The strawberry was sweet but not tart, the biscuit held its crunch throughout, and the mint in the strawberry sorbet gave the dish a bit of a lift. Our most recent visit we ordered burgers which were pretty good, bang bang chicken noodles which is my favourite dish here and sausage/chips/beans for our children. I do have an issue with our latest visit, as my son who's 7yrs old was served his meal 15 minutes before the rest of us. We were only told this would be the case when they had brought his plate out. I've heard of this practice but my son is 7yrs old, not a baby and at the same time they didn't do that for my daughter who is 9yrs old. It just seems very silly as he was completely finished in 15 minutes and then was left waiting anyway for all of us to finish so we kind of ended up rushing our meal and it defeated the entire point of having a family meal out together. By adding a area like a book nook and a audio area it would allow people to do what they find relaxing. By adding cushioned seats and big cuddle sofas outside etc it would allow people to spread out and relax without everyone being in one place.
