We had a great time at this restaurant. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made us feel comfortable right away. The view from our table was absolutely beautiful — it really added something special to the whole experience.
The food was fantastic. Every dish we ordered was full of flavor and really well prepared. You can tell they use quality ingredients and put care into their cooking.
Overall, everything came together perfectly: great service, amazing view, and delicious food.

Fantastic restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was fresh and full of flavor. Don’t miss the grill platter, or anything off the grill. The staff were so kind and thoughtful, really making sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. Reservations are definitely a must since it gets busy, and if you can, ask for outdoor seating in the back patio — it’s a beautiful and relaxing spot to enjoy your meal. Highly recommend!

Pedimos secretos de porco preto com batata frita e lagartos de porco preto com migas de couve flor que recomendo muito experimentar especialmente se mergulharem os lagartos com o doce de maçã que vem a acompanhar. Uma combinação de sabores incrível.
Para terminar pedimos uma mousse de manga que estava ótima e experimentámos um medronhotini.

While highly recommended, the place is a bit of hit and miss. The service levels are good but the ambience is quite clustered with seats very close to each other and the overall ambience not the best. The food as I can describe is rustic as the prawns and ox tail we ordered had pieces which were perfectly cooked and pieces which were under done. We still enjoyed the food and would say it's worth visiting if you are taking a trip to monchique.

We decided to visit this restaurant on our first night in Portugal and wow, we were not disappointed. The service was impeccable, the owner gave us a full run down of the dishes available and why he loved them. I'd never expect to order a 'cabbage stew' in a restaurant but he had recommended it so fervently I thought I had to try it... And wow, this was not just cabbage stew but an absolute assault on the senses. The flavours, seasoning and all of the other things in the stew... Sweet potato, sausage and some other bits I have no idea what they were but it was top notch!!
There were 4 of us, we all ate very well including a platter of starters, a main and 3 desserts plus drinks and we spent €25 euros each 😲
Excellent value, great homely authentic Portuguese food and some brilliant friendly and helpful service to go with it. Not to be missed!
The pictures really don't do the food justice, it may not look like much but.... Well just try it!!

Abbiamo pranzato in questo ristorante durante la nostra piccola gita a Monchique. Devo dire siamo rimasti veramente sorpresi perché il cibo era buonissimo e sopratutto il servizio impeccabile.

There was a small choice for my vegetarian travel companion so she ordered a starter salad and the main course to be served together. She wasn't informed that her main was freshly cooked and would take quite some time. We had a lovely dinner at Rampa last night. The French hostess was very welcoming and attended to all of our choices and questions.
I had the steak with fries and pepper sauce and my partner had the Cod with finely sliced potatoes. My steak was very good. The overall taste of both dishes was very good.
There was a good atmosphere and on a mister, cool evening it reminded us of a cosy ski lodge.

Haben uns spontan dazu entschieden, hier etwas zu essen und bekamen das Beste Piri-Piri Chicken aller Zeiten! Die Portionen waren riesig. This charming ramshackle cottage is on the side of the road, a couple of kilometres from the top of Foia mountain summit. First impressions and you'd think it's closed, but walking up the ramp to the entrance will see you greeted by your host. His dry sense of humour and his masterful use of English is both welcoming and entertaining. I ordered Piri Piri (obviously) and my partner ordered Carbonara and it was delivered promptly and efficiently. It was a huge portion for both of us, probably one would have done us both. The piri piri was divine, and although I didn't realise it, the whole chicken was already marinated in the infamous sauce, so the addition of a small bowl made me dip into it thinking that was the only sauce. I love the heat of the birds eye chillies, but almost immediately I had a running nose and was sweating! Sheer heaven. The view was sublime whilst we ate, looking over the foothills towards Monchique and our host was more than a little disappointed neither of us could finish our dishes. It must be a bit of a golden find because even locals were stopping in for their lunch, and all in all it was very reasonably priced. The only downside was some English tourists who were expecting the Ritz dining room, complaining about this and that.

Found this spot on a rainy Sunday morning looking for some lunch, and weirdly it was deserted (probably because we are in the low season).
The smell of frying oil when you walk in the place is incredibly strong, and not in a good way unfortunately.
The food was nice, a man was making everything himself, taking our orders, preparing our meal, serving us. He was nice but also a bit weird being looked at for the duration of the whole lunch because we were the only people there.
We tried the Francesinha and the Stew with beans and pork and both were very rich and tasty.

I was just wandering around and I found this place just by accident, I googled some reviews and I tried to walk in. The place was empty, I was there with just the owner (and cook at the same time; he was preparing food in kitchen next room but I didnt smell any unwanted scents, like oil or something) and I ordered francesinha as I had heard about this food before. The meal was ready in 10 minutes and it was DELICIOUS. I have never had this meal before and I was hesitant about bread soaked in piripiri sauce but I can tell you I was mistaken. The food was 10/10, I would recommend it to everyone. I had a glass of sparkling house wine with it (idk if wine is recommended to drink with it but whatever :) ) and espresso after meal. We ordered three sirloin steaks, two rare and one medium, but what we got were three steaks — two very well done and one medium to well — exactly the opposite of what we asked for. I have lived in monchique on and off for 17 years and I've been in this restaurant countless times over the years. I would have given it a 5 star review before it recently changed hands.
I brought a group of friends there for dinner, all visiting from Scotland and we loved it so much we went back the day after. The lovely people who have taken over have brought a whole new energy to the place. They clearly love what they do. We were treated simultaneously like royalty and family. The food was cooked with love and local tradition as well as high quality, local ingredients.
