Nice farmers market with a decent amount of stalls (maybe around 20 to 30). Selling almost everything from fruit n veg, bread, eggs, uncooked pasta, handmade goods, wines and spirits, coffee vans and some food. All produce and goods are locally grown or produced. Parking is very limited and gets extra busy during long weekends. Pets are not allowed.

We love farmers markets and the one at Margaret River is no exception. Everything looked good but because there was a limit to what we could consume and because we had no idea which stalls to choose from, we simply followed the crowd and joined the longest queues. We were not disappointed with our choices. Everything we are on the spot tasted fresh and the ones that we bought home to eat later in the day were also excellent.

Nothing for the kids to play on or with. 20 minute walk around and was finished looking/shopping. Couldn't see any tables and chairs to sit ,eat or relax. Over priced fruit in many stalls holders. Purchased Mull wine which is very nice . Not sure as a tourist if I would make the effort to return 🤔

You could spend a whole day here (like we did) and still feel like you haven’t experienced everything and that you need to come back again (like we did). What a place. The food is good, the gardens make me want to be a gardener. The outdoor games are great and the maze is spectacular - you can certainly tell a lot of time, effort and careful dedication went into the maze and it paid off. An astonishing place! Even the carpark is pretty!
Our group of 8 had a wonderful time on a drizzly Winter’s day. In addition to the signature Cypress hedge maze, which was truly exciting and challenging, there were many other interesting, smaller mazes dotted around a botanic garden of remarkable beauty. I estimate 400+ species of plants, including a mixture of exotic and rare native Australian and West Australian plants, which are well-kept and beautiful to see, plus charming sculptures of reclaimed materials around nearly every corner. An incredible amount of effort has clearly been put into planning this family-run property. There is also mini golf, boules/petanque, giant chess and picnic grounds, plus a café serving a range of tasty food. The entry fee and cafe prices reflect the expense of keeping a private property in such beautiful condition, and, as such, are reasonable. If you have come to have a lovely time, you certainly will.

This is always a good place to get a decent feed. Had an enormous lamb shank on a very smooth mash with some carrots and beans. It was cooked very well and much nicer than the one I had a couple of days ago at another Perth Tavern. Partner had the pan seared fish of the day which was pink snapper. She said it was one of the nicest fish she has had in a long time. Highly recommend.

Located in the heart of Margaret River town, this eatery cum bar serves a large variety of menu items. We had mostly seafood - chili mussels, seafood chowder, fried calamari and Caesar salad dishes and they were alright - nothing to rave about. We came on a Friday afternoon and their service level were abit patchy. Nonetheless the location is convenient, easy to access with a pleasant environment.

Situated on the Main Street in Margs the Settlers Tavern is both a bar and restaurant with a great atmosphere. Note though that the restaurant does not stay open late so either arrive early evening or check on arrival what time the kitchen closes. We ordered the sausage & mash and Lamb shank. Both were lovely and paired well with a glass of the local red wine Leeuwin estate Shiraz. Prices are reasonable and the menu has a decent selection. If you want something more town to earth and homely then Settlers is for you.

Settlers Tavern is our go to place for lunch whenever in Margaret River.
Food is consistently excellent, and we love the theme of using local produce. Their selection of wines and other beverages is superb. I enjoyed a delicious non-alcoholic German wheat beer with my lunch.
There's plenty of wonderful dining choices in this part of our state, and this is one of the best.

We did a behind-the-scenes tour last Saturday, and luckily, it turned into a private tour with just the two of us—probably thanks to the chilly weather!
Our guide, Mary, was amazing—super knowledgeable and friendly. We learned all about the winemaking process throughout the seasons, along with some fun and unexpected facts.
The wine tasting was incredible too. Every glass, from start to finish, was smooth and beautifully balanced.
Overall, it was a really enjoyable experience. We had a great time and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in wine or just looking for a relaxing day out.

We had the premium wine tasting, $25 per head. Nice service from the lady, but unfortunately the tasting fee is not redeemable upon purchase of wines, which is common practice in MR. We decided not to purchase anything for this reason and it's off the list on future visits.

Been to a few of the bigger and more commercialised vineyards, but we were blown away by this guided tour (Behind the Scenes of Wine Making), by Ben at Cape Mentelle. His passion for the industry made a whole difference during our 90 mins with him. He was very engaging, and shared many details in layman's terms, where my parents could understand too.
During the wine tasting, 🍷 the ambience and atmosphere was very intimate. Ben was there explain each of the wine and its background. He also related back to what we saw during the tour, such as the type of ageing process, etc.
We had a great time together! Bought a bottle of their premium wine and enjoyed it on our last night at Margaret River.
Thank you for the amazing experience! Highly recommended! As its a relatively smaller vineyard, I would recommend to book in advance for the guided tour.

We visited Cape Mentelle and booked the Behind The Scenes Tour with Food & Wine Pairing through Tripadvisor. It ended up being just the two of us that day, so we had a private tour—which made the experience even more special.
Our guide, Mary, was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. She took her time walking us through the winemaking process and sharing insights about the vineyard’s history.
The wine tasting and food pairing were thoughtfully curated—each combination brought out the unique flavours of the wines beautifully. It was clear a lot of care had gone into the pairings.

Beautiful estate, just a short drive from Margaret River. The cellar door and grounds are excellently maintained.
Some of the wines are worth the money, especially the reds. The Chardonnay is overpriced for what else is readily available in the region.
We were a bit put off that the tasting fee does not come off a purchase, even if you spend $$$ and out of 10 wineries they had the most expensive postage fee.
Both our hosts in the barrel tasting room were lovely and we got chatting about their experiences, the wine industry and Margaret River, in addition to the tasting notes.
The iPad tasting notes are very detailed for people who prefer to guide themselves.
We will continue to purchase the Cabernet Sauvignon back home as it is an exceptional wine!

From the moment we arrived, Leeuwin Estate exceeded all expectations. The setting is absolutely stunning — panoramic vineyard views, beautifully landscaped grounds, and a serene atmosphere that made the whole visit feel truly special.

The wine, of course, was the star of the show. Each glass was a delight — elegant, complex, and a perfect match with the food. We especially loved the Estate Brut, a true standout.

Returned after 19 years to celebrate my husband's birthday with the 6 course degustation lunch. We also brought a 2005 Chardonnay we'd purchased on our last visit. While the setting and food were lovely, we were disappointed by two service issues.
First, we were told that there would be a corkage fee for our wine (even it was from their own vineyard). As returning customers who'd kept the bottle for nearly two decades, this felt very unwelcoming and left a 'bitter taste' particularly as we were also doing the premium wine matching. Other wineries we've visited celebrate when customers bring back aged bottles from their own production.
Second, the white wines were served too cold which significantly impacted their pairing with the courses and our ability to fully appreciate their quality. For such an established winery, proper wine service should be a given.
The staff were friendly, but these issues impacted what should have been a very special celebration. Just do better.

Absolutely amazing lunch — every dish was beautifully presented with creative garnishes and flavour combinations that worked perfectly. We came pretty late in the day that what was left was the wine tasting. The service was 70/30. The male server was friendlier, took his time to explain each wine despite having to take care of another couple. The ladies behind the counter, their service etiquette should be re-checked. Some amazing waves whilst we visited demonstrated what a top place this is for a surf. Probably too rough when we spotted as despite numerous signposted surf breaks no one was participating. The river mouth itself is quite a sight and a great photo spot. Plenty of parking and just great to watch Mother Nature.

Incredible day with Sean learning all about Margaret River region. Sean is a fantastic tour guide and you learn so much about the area from his wealth of experience and local knowledge. The canoeing was just lovely and never in any danger of getting wet! What a fabulous day around Margaret River. A small group of 6, expertly guided by Sean. It was like meeting up with an old friend (not that old!) who had moved to a new area and wanted to show us the best bits of his new home. This he did and he excelled in doing so.
We started with a magical canoe on the Margaret River in a light shower ( but the speed we went, and with a brolly if it was too wet, meant the rain did not matter). Coffee stop, seeing a lovely waterfall, tasting local honey. The vine yard lunch in the barrel room and tasting 7 pretty premium wines was excellent. We finished with a walk to the coastal path, great views, lovely photos and he even managed to get a few whales to perform in the bay for us! A fabulous and knowledgeable host who made sure we had a great experience and he was not bothered by how long it took. It was all about having a great trip - Sean even took some lovely photos, which he sent, along with recommendations for things to do the following day. Thanks also to the other 4 people who made it an enjoyable day.

A truly unique day out! We saw parts of Australia that 99% of visitors will miss. Book now, you won’t be disappointed.
We found this trip when searching for the best way to explore the Margaret River area (to include wine obviously 😊) but wanted a better experience than we could achieve by just going to cellar doors ourselves.
First thing we loved on the day? There were only 6 of us, so this trip felt so much more personal than a bus ‘booze cruise’ event. Sean welcomed us all and we set off for the day after introductions.
The first event was canoeing on the Margaret River. This was truly wonderful as the river was serene, we were away from all noise apart from nature, and my friend (who had never been in a canoe before, and had been a little trepidatious prior to the day) agreed this was a highlight not to be missed. All safety equipment provided, and clear instructions given to all. Considering most of us had not canoed before, everyone did really well and had fun.
Next we had a coffee stop (and comfort break) by a stunning beach whist we all enthused about the scenery (and still taking about our newfound love of canoeing).
Now the wine…. We were taken to an award winning vineyard heading north of Margaret River where we were treated like VIPs! Stunning lunch with a wonderful variety of local produce, accompanied by a selection of the wines. We were able to try rose, whites, and reds, and I was stunned by the Chardonnay (normally not one of my ‘go to’ wines! Highly recommended. We met key members of staff and had amazing photo opportunities in the vineyards.
Final main activity was a guided walk along part of the Caves Walk coastal path. Again, we were taken to areas not normally accessible to the public and got truly remarkable photos.
In summary, this trip made our visit to the area one to remember. Sean is a considerate and (very) well informed host, with a passionate interest and knowledge of wines, nature, customs, and was happy to answer our multiple questions throughout the day.
If you truly want to experience Margaret River, book this trip. You won’t be disappointed

What a great day out with Sean. His passion for this special corner of WA was infectious. It's hard to pick a highlight but canoeing on the tranquil Margaret River was pretty special. But then the whole experience was very memorable. With Sean's knowledge of the regions wine growing and Aboriginal history, he was the perfect host. The winery tour, tasting and lunch were great followed by a coastal walk up to the clifftop for a spot of whale watching and a photo op. Highly recommend.

What a fabulous day! First time in a canoe at nearly 70 years old and loved it. The Margaret river was stunningly beautiful with close encounters with the rare white tailed black cockato. Lunch at the Fraser Gallop winery was educational as well as delicious with some lovely wines included. The afternoon included a cliff top walk with fabulous views. This was a truly memorable experience - we were blessed with a beautiful day - but it’s not like that is rare in WA! The day began with a canoe trip on the Margaret River - the canoes are easy to handle and very stable. Sean (your host) gives you full instructions. Because there are only 6 people on this tour, it’s a very personal experience and you get to know Sean and your fellow travellers quite well during the day. The wine part of the tour is a behind the scenes view of ‘Fraser Gallop’ - a smaller estate, but very high quality. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Not just a wine tour, although I would say we did this very well too, but we truly made the most of the area. Exploring the river by canoe, checking out the birds and wildlife, finding out about the native trees, tasting honey and of course, learning more about wine production and then tasting some excellent wines with our lunch. This was followed by a walk along a coastal path, part of the Cape to Cape track overlooking some magnificent scenery (where we spotted dolphins). Sean, our guide, was experienced and knowledgeable and looked after us very well. Thanks for an amazing day!

Sue was a bit apprehensive about Canoeing but absolutely loved it as did everyone on the trip.
The Off-Roading, through the bush was exhilarating and the coastlines we visited had stunning views.
The wine tasting and food had a great twist which made it very special and Sean is knowledeble and passionate about the Wines and the West Australia culture.
If there's only one trip you do this must be it!

As a serious wine enthusiast and having paid AUD 65 for the Savour Voyager experience, I should have picked a less busy season to visit.
Do not travel here on the 1st week of October, under staffed and over booked. I wish I would have enjoyed the experience more, alas it was not to be.

The estate is one of the nicest I've ever been too. There are so many options of wineries available in Margaret River and when you're driving (and not drinking) to choose one is really hard! This estate is gorgeous and they do a wine tasting (5wines for $20) but there were 3 of us and we did all 10 wines for $40 which was a bargain for the quality of wine. The staff were really knowledgeable, kind and helpful too. The wines are GORGEOUS, particularly enjoyed the Syrah. Highly recommend visiting here. They have lots of wine tasting with food packages but the counter top tasting we did was just at the counter. The only feedback I would suggest is a 'mini' cheese, bread and olive plate that can acompany counter wine tasting (more to keep you sober). We definitely would have purchased. Overall, absolutely excellent experience and beautiful wines.

It is a great spot to stop and refresh yourself. Specilly if you travel with young family. It has barbeque facilities, clean toilets and parking. There are enough places to sit and have a meal together. If you interested can have a walking or ride on bikes as there are some trails. This is not a camping ground.

The Rotary Park is off Bussell Highway just north of the main town centre at Margaret River. This is a good city park with riverside walking trails. We walked the South Bank River Trail Loop which is an easy 2.3 circular trail, good for families, dog-walkers and those who prefer to take it easy.

Beautiful, clean, peaceful and quiet park to take nice trail walks or runs. The main tracks are clearly marked out and I see that some people also create their own tracks for their own walks or hikes. There was ample parking spaces when I visited in a weekday afternoon though it does seem to get quite packed when I drove past the place on a weekend morning.

Nearby Cafe which provide for hiring bikes and fixing bikes,super clean and shiny benches, bbq area, next to the old settlement house, and walking track on the bush (2.5km). It was so amazing.
Definitely worth it and must come to spend the day with kids.

Ok beach near MR town. It’s got a lot of seaweed on the shore but ok for a little play in the water or fishing off the jetty. There is a restaurant right on the beach too but we arrived at sunset and it was closed so not sure how good it is. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here but I would go if you want to take the kids to a close calm beach for a short time. I’m guessing it’s more of a local place not a tourist stop.

While on our trip to Margaret river, we could help but stop off at gnarabup beach, for a swim 🏊♀️ , and our son enjoyed building sand castles . Afterwards we popped to the white elephant for a cold coffee and bite to eat. The staff where very polite but down to earth. In the harsh times where in, every was very respectful of the 1.5m COVID spacing and all using the COVID safe wa app. The food was good and the prices where reasonable. It’s got views on views that money can’t buy. I’ll definitely be returning again to both the beach & white elephant cafe

Beautiful beach for walking there’s a nice footpath behind the dunes that can take you all the way to Surfers Point and the River Mouth. At times there can be clumps of seaweed washed up and it can be a bit rocky. Your best bet is going for a dip in front of the White Elephant Cafe. Great for paddle boarding.

I had the pleasure of visiting Yahava KoffeeWorks in Margaret River and was thoroughly impressed by the quality of their coffee and the exceptional service provided by the staff.
Anita and Stella were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about coffee, and they took the time to explain the different types of beans and brewing methods to me. They were also very friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home.

Lovely morning visiting the Raptor Centre on our recent holiday to Margaret River. We had booked our tickets in advance online prior to our visit, we arrived early and there were quite a few visitors arriving also. If you have are wanting to catch a morning show it possibly would be okay to just turn up although with many of our activities during our holiday I always like to book in advance so we aren’t disappointed by just turning up in case they end up super busy.
There was a good amount of parking. We were greeted with a friendly young lady at reception who gave us lots of info regarding the display and the self guided nature walk. You can choose to do this prior to the bird display or after. It’s a good 15 to 20 minute look of the birds of prey but this walk could take longer with smaller children or if you spend reasonable amounts of time at each bird enclosure. We didn’t give ourselves enough time to complete before so we decided to watch the display first and complete the walk after.
The bird display arena is moderate in size and consisted of rows of wooden bench seating, however they are all one level so if you do have very small children I highly recommend arriving early and getting yourself seated to try and get one of the benches along the front to give smaller children a better view.
The show started promptly and was given by a friendly and very informative guide. We were given lots of information regarding the barn owl we got to see and the Black Kites, we were also given opportunities to ask questions, kids and adults took the opportunity to do so and were given great responses by the guide which was great as they were on the spot questions so she really knew her stuff 😊
The centre is doing great things in rehabilitation for these birds of prey and they are living long and healthy lives at the centre.
They are non for profit so all the money they make from our tickets etc goes straight back in to the rehabilitation of the birds. Whilst the display only had to displays there are lots of birds to walk around and see on the trail you even get to have a picture with the sooty owl which the kids love (and me) 😊 so the ticket fees are super reasonable and good value for a short activity.
There’s toilets onsite which were clean and a gift shop at the end which we always try and purchase from to help put money into the rehabilitation of the birds too.

Fantastic place to visit in Margret River! As part of Bird of prey encounters/ forest walk you get to see the birds free flying up close (a barn owl and some black kites). The presenter for the 2pm show on the 28/04/25 was informative, personable and funny, it was clear he had a great connection with the birds and had been working with them for a while. Part of the fun was watching their dynamic play out, it was a blast! Afterwards the picture with the boobook owl was amazing. Walking the trail and seeing so many different types of raptors (and some tawny frog mouths) was fun, with many of the birds being near the front of the enclosure. As two adults, we had a blast!

Really fun, well worth a visit. The show was good but only showcased two types of birds, and owl and some falcons (?) but the presenter was very factual and knowledgeable. The walk was very nice to see all the birds in the bush, although some of the cages were a little worse for wear. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and helpful.

Awesome rehabilitation centre for our injured birds of prey. Informative learning session. The birds that have been bred there are well trained. There is photo opportunity for a photo after the information session at no charge.
Nice gift shop. There is no shop unfortunately to purchase food, which is a shame. There is an undercover area however, with plenty of tables and chairs suitable for a picnic lunch.
The walk around the park to see the birds is set in native bush, and pending the time of year, houses some of our beautiful fauna.

We had an amazing time learning about the raptors at Capes Raptor Centre. The enclosures and facility are beautiful - the surrounding bushland sets the perfect scene for the birds. Our show was presented by Anne Marie and we found her to be incredibly quirky and engaging. She did a great job sharing facts while the birds decided they had something more interesting to do than the show today. We learned a lot and found the educational nature of the presentation served the facility well. The birds are gorgeous! They will not be forgotten.

I took my boys (11 and 8) kayaking on Easter Saturday and we all had a blast. The beach, river and forests are absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed every minute of our kayaking adventure. My eldest wants to be a Marine Biologist, so he loved seeing all the Black Brim in the mangroves.
Both Sarah and Josh are absolutely lovely people, it was great to chat to them.
The equipment was in great condition, and I loved the fact that Sarah also supplies drybags to keep your phone and keys safe while on the water.

Had a good time at Kayaks and Canoes. We were a group of 17 so had to take 3 Canoes as it was easier for the guide to maintain and guide us through the river.
Overall the experience was amazing and 2 hours was the bestt! Something you should be doing on Saturdays as you will definitely need a day off the next day. Fun and exhausting as well. 😂

Never really thought much of climbing until this place got changed to a bouldering gym, and now I'm addicted! This was one of the best discovery during our trip down in Margaret River. Entry is supposed to be free as per website with donations appreciated but we were told the entry fee per person instead of free will donations. Lots of precious well preserved and maintained items from the olden days, definitely worth a visit especially if you have children. Staff were lovely and very helpful in explaining and talking us through the history.

This is a national park just north and east of the Albany town centre. There is a fair sized carpark at the trailhead for a handful of walking and cycling tracks through mature forests filled with Karri, Marri and Jarrah Trees.
We used the carpark along Craters Road past Rotary Park where there are several trailheads for both walkers and bikers. Trail information is posted at the carpark as well. The RAC Campground is located nearby as well and includes access to the Wooditjup Trails.
We found the Chimney Trail to be quite easy and family-friendly. A lot of criss-crossing and short splinter trails so best to have a map ready to make sure you stay on the correct path. The historic Red Chimney makes for a nice stop along this trail.
The longer distance Wadandi Track also transects the NP. We walked a couple km of this trail across several bridges as well, that was nice stretch with direct access to the carpark used.
Another easy and family friendly trail we found enjoyable for a leisurely late morning hike was the Rotary South Bank River Trail which you can start from the Rotary Park carpark. This was a very easy, child and pet friendly walk, perfect for families wanting to spend some time in nature close to the town centre.

There is a small unsealed car park at the starting point of the trails. There are no clear signages at the start and can be confusing. However, 10 minutes or so into the walk and after crossing the second bridge there are signs displayed at the track to the right of the bridge. We followed the Chimney trail (pink colour) which was an easy and lovely hour’s walk that went uphill for a while, and then meandered down a valley sheltered by a canopy of tall trees. At the bottom of the valley, just follow the sign to the car park and don’t change direction when you see a sign pointing at the opposite direction 30 metres down. Had a blast. We went through the maze (probably just us but we walked 2.1km to find the middle and back out again) it was the best maze we’ve been to. Spent some time walking through the gardens and did a few of the other little mazes. Then we had some lunch. The food was fresh and tasty albeit smaller portions to pub food but hey it wasn’t a pub. We then went to mini golf which was a great family activity. This could really be a full day. I think that is what the owners were going for. I read a few reviews saying they thought it was too expensive. If you stop for 30 mins and do the maze it probably isn’t going to be the best value for money but why not stop and enjoy the scenery. There is so much more to it than just the maze. They have free BBQs and plenty of shade for a picnic. If you’re on a budget pick up some snags and bread. Would have been five stars if not for a few hiccups with food. All in all everyone had a great time.

Gorgeous walk, me and my partner wandered through the Chimney trail and were stunned at how pretty and diverse the trail was.
Lots of very picturesque detours along the way to grab some photos in, and the chimney itself was impressive. Very interesting to think about how the land was used before us.
The rest of the trails looked incredible and we were jealous of the people who had mountain bikes! We hope to return again soon to try bike some of it.

A fairly easy ride from the Margaret River township via the Wadandi Track. We enjoyed some green trails today which were well thought through with graduated twisty uphill sections providing good flat runs before the fun began with some tight twisty sections and kickers keeping us entertained. Great advice from the Hairy Marron at the beginning made it a really enjoyable morning.

This place is awesome. So happy we came here. We hired bikes from the hairy marron in margs and rode out to the trails (it’s only a short 15min ride with the kids).
The trails were fantastic. Had something for everyone.
If you’ve got an injury or your fitness isn’t the best, then hire an e-bike to get you up the hill so that you can enjoy this awesome park.
I rate it highly. 👌

This was a lovely rest spot when I cycled to the dam via the Ten Mile Brook Trial from Margaret River. There are no facilities such as toilets or drinking water here and water sports are not allowed as the dam is a water catchment area. Nevertheless, this is a nice place to take a quiet walk and admire the scenery and observe the local wildlife.
