Upon walk through, it was apparent that management did not do a walk through to make sure it was move in ready. They had just painted the countertops and the smell was nauseating. It was inconvenient as I had to rent a hotel room for the weekend and move in the following Monday. The front loading washing machine seal was caked with black mold. This was the first thing I put a work order in for And it was resolved within a week. The bathroom vent was also full of dust and dirt. I handled this one with my vacuum. There was caulk dripped all along the tub. It took me a week to scrape it all off. Looking past all of that, the building itself was awesome! I think it used to be a bank and they kept some of the original nostalgic feel. My apartment was sleek and modern. I did notice dead cockroaches every so often but I think it must have correlated with their pest control efforts. Being smack downtown, this does not surprise me. The rooftop is amazing and the view is spectacular. I didn’t spend much time up there but I did watch the fireworks last July. Awesome for sure! I did ask to be let out of my lease after a couple months of the AC malfunctioning. I was on the 14th floor in the middle of summer. Management was moving the residents to different hotels/airbnbs every couple nights. It was disappointing to not be able to live in my apartment. The only time I “visited” was to do laundry. When I made the decision to move, management was very helpful at finding me adequate accommodations. I greatly appreciated all the efforts they made, especially Matt Strom for his pursuit of finding fairness for the situation. Unfortunately this was a 3 star experience for me in a 5 star building.
