Food was good, bacon was a bit salty. Baked beans were good, not too sweet or salty, with lovely tomato sauce. Vibe is the reason we were there. Service was nice, care and made sure you were well served.

It was a good start to the day to have brunch at Refectory Kitchen. I enjoyed my pancakes and hot chocolate, largely because of the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. They greeted me warmly with no wait time despite having a busy morning. Then patiently recommended food choices. Throughout the meal, they checked on me twice to make sure eveything was fine. To the pretty and efficient-working staff, thank you for your hard work!

We’ve been at the Reflectory Kitchen on a Sunday morning in August 2025 and had a tasty English breakfast. Opens at 8:00 h! Recommendation!

We went this on Sunday evening. It was a little bit crowded, we have to wait for 20 minutes. But it was worth. I ordered smoked salmon and avocado. There are boiled eggs, salmon, cucumbers and a lot of avocados on a toast. The taste of vinegar was excellent.

Went to The Refectory Kitchen for breakfast — staff were really welcoming and friendly. Got there early so plenty of tables, but it filled up fast! Great menu with lots of choice. I had the English breakfast (delicious) and my wife had the pancakes, which looked and tasted amazing. Very popular spot — we’ll definitely be going back! Parking is about five minutes away next to the train station. It’s in the old part of the city, so wheelchair access is limited with stairs at the entrance, though staff would likely help. There’s also an outdoor seating area for warmer days.

The Refectory Kitchen is a nice spot in Canterbury. My husband and I came here for breakfast. Staff were friendly. Food and coffee were good. I would go again if in the area.

Food and Coffee are great. Need a short queue for the table. The annoying part is the toilet though that it is like a war zone here. No kidding, war zone!!!

What a great place to sit, relax and enjoy the views, especially on a lovely sunny afternoon. The seating was very comfortable and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our drinks were served quickly and were both tasty and well presented. Its obviously very popular because it was very busy and not many free seats.

The view is really nice and wherever you sit, you can enjoy the view. Non-alcoholic option is available. The food menu is not very spacious, but mostly with its drinks. It is not a place for children. It's a good option to listen to the head during the day and have fun in the evening

The rooftop dining experience was truly exquisite. The breathtaking view of the cathedral added a magical touch to our evening. The attentive staff catered to our every need, enhancing the overall ambiance. However, the 12% service charge in Canterbury felt a tad excessive. Nonetheless, a five-star experience worth savoring.

Great location for a drink, we didn’t try the food but awesome views of Canterbury, particularly the cathedral and west gate. Look out for the large building on the horizon to the north this is St Edmunds school. The drinks are very expensive but reflect the uniqueness of the location. Happy hour is 5:00 to 6:00 when a few of the cocktails are half price. Service was excellent.

What a disappointment!Went there for my birthday on Sunday.The venue looked so nice but food let me down so much. How on earth you can serve as a main pack of tenderstorm broccoli with few almonds and bread what never came and charge for it £22!That was the worst meal ever! Actually , hard to even call it a main meal. It's just a overpriced side dish! My daughter had roasted vegetables and her plate was more full then mine. Such a shame! It's a lovely place with great views , and big potential but they don't know how to carter for people.

I had such a wonderful experience dining at Bills! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. But what really made the evening unforgettable was Romy,our waiter. Romy was incredible— so attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about making sure we had a great time. They made excellent recommendations, checked in at just the right moments, and had this effortless charm that made the whole experience feel special. Honestly, Romy is a gem and a big reason why I’ll definitely be coming back. If you're thinking about visiting, do it — and ask for Romy if you can. You won’t regret it!

Food is very delicious and good price. We are very satisfied!! We ordered set menu. We chose Cauliflower soup, smoked salmon pate, mackerel beetroot. & squash salad, chargrilled chicken. We quite loved them. Coconut milk late and coconut milk flat white were also our favorite! The most stunning thing is the service!! Antonio and Rosie are very friendly and thoughtful!! Their hospitality is very heartwarming:) After eating set menu, we were almost full but we wanted to order pancake, then they offered us smaller options!! That was very helpful. It was my first time in this restaurant and the experience was really enjoyable. I particularly appreciated the gluten free menu with many choices available. Amelia was our server and she took great care of us. Would definitely come back and recommend it!

Had a great visit to Bill’s in Canterbury! Antonio was our server and he was really friendly and attentive. Started off with a pot of tea which was lovely, then had the Ultimate Brunch Burger and the Steak, Egg & Chips – both were tasty and well cooked. Went here for lunch one Sunday. The server was wonderful, I believe her name was Rasa/Rosa. The shared starter was really nice and set us up for a good meal. Unfortunately, even though the burger was presented well, it was average at best, not very much taste. In theory it sounded great, bacon, fried egg and lots of avocado. It didn't live up to the expectations. The fries were good and the meal wasn't overly expensive in total. I would go back but I would be ordering a different main other than the brunch burger.

I ordered the chicken shawarma plate based on recommendations, and it was absolutely delicious, full of rich, distinctive flavors. Romy was also very friendly and welcoming. Overall, great service and great food.

Very busy and nice atmosphere but very let down by service. Our order wasn’t placed to kitchen but it was only after I checked in with them that they confirmed this. Obviously a new waitress that was learning but it just made me sad that none of the more senior colleagues were checking in with the tables she was waiting to make sure it was okay. I witnessed a few people being offered ‘free drink’ coupons - possibly due to situations like ours, but some more constructive management could lead to better outcomes and experiences for customers, as we don’t feel like returning.

A perfect breakfast experience from the very first moment. The place has a cozy and thoughtfully designed atmosphere: beautiful decor, friendly service, and an ambiance that invites you to linger. In Canterbury this is a little island in the everyday rush. So kind everybody, the place is comfortable and nice, the Chef is a master chef, the foods like the Micheline stars quality. I recommend it to anyone who wants a little chill.

Cute hidden gem in Canterbury highstreet! Has an amazing menu with all day breakfast. Lots of tasty vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options aswell which was very impressive! A tiny space but its decorated beautifully and all the tables are well spaced apart. Staff have always been very accommodating everytime Ive been there. Definitely one of my favourite places to eat in Canterbury!

Kitch is a very nice place in Canterbury. We had super tasty brunch, delicious veggie juice and tea. (And some cake for take away.) The quality, the service was also really high level. If you are in Canterbury, I recommend to try something from the menu.

This award winning restaurant serves the very best Sunday Roast. The quality of the meat offerings and the amazing vegetarian roast were matched by creative and amazingly tasty sides. If you visit The Cathedral on a Sunday, make a reservation for supper, an English ritual. If you take the high speed train with an anytime return from and to London, the cathedral visit capped with a truly amazing dinner makes for a rewarding side trip.

We stayed at the Corner house for our 25th wedding anniversary in the Tourtel room (Rupert the bear) beautiful room and a amazing bathroom, being on the busy road it's noisy at night but ear plugs are supplied. We ate at the corner house Saturday menu and Sunday dinner the food was wonderful, had a few cocktails which were lovely. Has own main door so you can come and go when ever you want. Enjoyed the area museum (which is free) and Cathedral(about £20 each but can use it as many times during the year) We will definitely be back to stay at the Corner House

Very nice stay here, celebrating my special birthday. Room was lovely, good size & very clean. The bathroom was very big and loved the decor. Would stay again. Breakfast did not cater for me with my wheat allergy, even though we told them in advance. Husband loved it though!

I had dinner at The Corner House the other night and it was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Our waitress Eden was so friendly and attentive and really made the evening special. I will definitely be coming back!

Stayed here for our son's graduation. It was a perfect location as only 5 min walk into Canterbury town centre. Staff were lovely. Chatty, friendly and attentive. Bed was comfy. Room was clean with En-Suite. Brekky was brought up to our room at 08.30 the next morning. Hot croissants, toast & jam, yogurt with fruit & granola. Yum! Room has a fridge with fresh water and a glass bottle of milk which was perfect with the decaf coffee & tea. Would recommend and definitely stay again.

Had to find lunch while waiting for the cathedral to open, and stumbled upon The Corner House. It turned out to be the best meal we had during our entire trip! Great service with incredibly friendly staff, and the food was fantastic. Definitely worth a visit!

A really quaint place right across from the Marlow Arcade Mall area. It was very busy on a Monday bank holiday weekend. Service as a result was a little slow but courteous staff. Extensive menu with a decent set of options for vegetarians and a really fresh selection of pastries/cakes.

Best afternoon tea we had during our honeymoon. After having a few in London, we kind of came to the conclusion that maybe we don't like afternoon tea very much... but glad we tried again at Tiny Tim's! Their scones are amazing. The teas offered here all tasted AMAZING! The best part? It was so much more affordable than any other place we went to for the experience. Seriously, some in London were like 80 pounds per person, but here it was like 25 pounds for a much better tasting one. It was quite busy when we went, so service was a bit spotty, but it was still fun. Worth a visit for sure!

We went to Tiny Tim's Tearoom because it was recommended to us by friends. We could pick a nice place ourselves. My husband took the cake with lemon and I went for the Pilgrim Scone. Very nice! We liked the decoration in this tearoom: all about autumn and NOT about Halloween. Well done!

This place was a vibe and overall the best Tea experiencei had in England. Relatively affordable afternoon tea compared to prices in London. Scones were huge and the staff was great. No wait either which was important as we came on a tour bus and had limited time.

I’ve been wanting to visit since their famous “Pudding Club”. Popped in for lunch and was pleased to see it full and doing well. Ended up with a chicken huffkin each, tea, hot chocolate and a scone to share. Absolutely wonderful. Scones as big as your fist and the perfect balance of flavour. This will be the sort of place to bring an older relative for an upscale afternoon tea they will talk about for years to come. We will be back.

24 of us had a great late lunch yesterday after our wine tasting event we had locally, we had organised with the restaurant a set of menu which included a selection of all the started for the table and then each guest chose their main and dessert! The weather was perfect and the atmosphere buzzing and was the perfect combination for a fantastic afternoon - Farouk was first class who was the main waiter who looked after us and was excellent and was very attentive and was on it! John the F&B manager was also great who helped plan and book the event for a large booking! Thanks CT for a great large group lunch everyone left very full and well oiled 😍🤪🤪

We went to celebrate our granddaughter's 18th birthday, she wanted to try this venue as it was recommended by friends. It caters for all ages and we had a fabulous evening with the drinks waiter making a very special cocktail for Evie ,we cant fault the service

Dined here tonight for my daughters birthday... Absolutely wonderful service from the start. I made the reservation and noted it was my daughters birthday and Summith and his team made a, fuss of her and attentive. Very good hospitality, good music, lovely atmosphere. Even after a, slight issue with the steaks cooking - they rectified it immediately. Brilliant service. Really looked after our party of 6. Pic: virgin pina colada (alcohol free) lovely I could enjoy a fancy drink as the designated driver.

Our server Paul made the experience here what it was 1000%, our booking was for 1:00pm and the birthday girl was about 15-20 minutes late as she had no idea this was taking place as it was a surprise and by the time she had arrived and we had all been acquainted we were told we would have to leave at 2:30 for the next table who had booked, a lot of the senior member’s of staff were continuously hovering over our table and were almost rushing us to leave which we weren’t too pleased with especially since they weren’t that busy. However as 2:30 came along and the time went past nothing else was said or done about us leaving so we let that go, they gave the birthday girl a cocktail with a picture of her on it which certainly made up for that everyone enjoyed our meals and the drinks were lovely and they kept them coming, great atmosphere apart from that small issue.

My boyfriends and I are regulars here and are always taken care of very well particularly by Sumit. The staff and service are always exceptional along with the drinks and food. Would highly recommend for any newcomers!

We came here for the first time today, and were highly impressed all round. Staff were friendly and welcoming, the interior was clean and bright, with a cute little garden at the back, as well as outside seating at the front. As for the food, it was top class. Our vegan and veggie breakfasts were delicious and healthy, and really well presented. I really cannot speak highly enough about this wonderful place and wish l lived closer so l could visit more often. Highly recommended 👌

We went on 2x separate occasions but can only submit one review - excellent breakfast options, nicely cooked & tasty, decent prices as well. Lunch was a bit disappointing, with the salmon & lentil salad, as given the price was £16, the salmon was dry and no flavour to the meal overall. Could only eat a 1/3 of it, however the club 35 sandwich was superb. Friendly staff and delicious coffee, both hot and cold.

Me and my family had lovely experience here. We stopped in for a drink and some cake - one of our group had a peppermint tea which was made locally and a lovely vegan croissant warmed up, another had a coffee and a gluten free lemon cake and I had a vegan biscoff and ginger milkshake which was divine. It was a lovely atmosphere and the food and drinks were delicious. I'd definitely go again and try some of the cakes! It's always lovely to have more than one dairy or gluten free option.

Excellent lunch! We had the pulled pork wrap and the mozzarella panini, both were very good. The portion sizes are large so you’ll definitely be full. We also had a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows (both of which came with an extra cost but they were less than 1£). We came with our dog and they offered us a free pup cup! The waitress (whose name we didn’t catch) was very sweet! We recommend 100%!

I've been to Cafe No 35 on several occasions and each time has been excellent. Food is exceptional and so much choice, and if you are a Vegan or Veggie, you are in for a treat! Beautiful courtyard garden is a hidden gem in the summer too. They have some great events, and the 'sip and paint' evening was great fun! Oh....and it's dog friendly!

What an interesting venue! We had an excellent time with our own space for our karaoke function so that we could make as much noise as we wanted without disturbing other patrons... and we did! Great food and drinks menu and friendly, welcoming staff. If you could have thrown in some air con, it would have been literally perfect! (I know, listed building; I'm just saying it was hot) Fantastic time had by all! Highly recommend for any adult function or event.

Went out for brunch with some friends and had a good time. Had the truffle honey chicken burger, which was absolutely delicious! Packed with flavor and the portion size was fantastic. Good options for gluten intolerant people too, the bun i had with my burger was gluten free! Had a side of skin on fries too, tasty with the right amount of salt on them. Highly recommend the outside seating- the sun was out so it was a great view to have. Massive shoutout to jake the head chef.

Our daughter/son-inlaws wedding held here. Brilliant venue, quirky and different.. Right on top of the lovely gardens and river of Westgater. Service a little slow but waiting staff very friendly and attentive. Food excellent, worth waiting for. both sit-down and buffet very good. Highly recommend.

Found by accident but so glad we did. The food was fabulous and the kids meals were free (my 8 year old especially enjoyed the Mac and cheese!). Portions were really good. I love the quirkiness and the free entry to the Westgate museum. Staff member that served us was really nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

We came for a hen party event at boom battle bar and it was absolutely amazing! There were 8 of us celebrating our friends wedding and we were looked after so well, particularly by our Axe throwing instructor Orla!! She was incredible, so friendly, so supportive, so encouraging, taught us so much and was just a vibe. We would recommend anyone going to boom battle bar to ask for Orla. She looked after us so well. We loved her. The place was also amazing, all the staff were really friendly and there was just good vibes all round. The ABBA button in the toilets was an amazing discovery, although slightly disappointed we did not find this in the men's/disabled toilets. Would definitely recommend anyone to have a party here! It was banging. Shout out to Orla for the best time!

Started with the Axe throwing, Bobbi was the instructor. She was fantastic, showed us what to do. Very helpful and really friendly. Great experience throwing the axe's, would definitely do this again and highly recommend this activity. Next up reality darts, was OK, apart from the bass from the DJ, vibrated the board 🤣. Next up crazier golf, different, and fun to do.

We had a great time!🥳 Axe throwing was great and our instructor Orla was brilliant, very fun and chatty, made the experience even better. The crazy golf was really good, loved all the different ways of playing and was like nothing we had done before.⛳️ Cocktails were made infront of us and tasted incredible (Zombie was a 10/10!🧟‍♀️) food was amazing!!🤩 Thoroughly enjoyable and we would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fun few hours.

We would not go again and was quite disappointed overall. When we arrived, it was super loud with the football being screened for staff to watch. The manager or lead was enjoying himself with friends. The place was nearly empty with only 4 others there and ourself a group of 4, we were outnumbered by staff and their friends. We had planned to play crazy golf and addmittedly that was good fun with a mix of skills required and great for a group of 4. The service was not great with it taking very long to do a simple order of drinks and the food took way too long when there were only 4 of us eating in the whole venue. The disabled toilet and men's toilet had no toilet paper at all and when I asked for some, the bar staff had to interrupt the manager talking with his friends and it was clearly an annoyance for him to have to replenish it. The men's toilets also were not clean. The disable toilet is so darkly lit that it would be dangerous for someone transitioning from a wheelchair to the seat. Additionally the required safety cord has been wrapped around the handle, not reaching the floor or being free hanging. Staff were mostly friendly, especially behind the bar, offering to bring drinks over. Overall, we would not come back again.

We came for my partners birthday. I booked ace throwing and crazy golf and the staff were so friendly and the service was great. We had Lewis doing our axe throwing and he was so much fun. He walked us through everything and gave us tips to get better scores. He made so much effort for my partners birthday and it was a really lovely thing to do and made such a difference. We stumbled upon this lovely café and were so glad we did! They have a beautiful garden area — peaceful, cozy, and perfect for relaxing. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. We had an iced coffee and a cappuccino — both delicious. The food was amazing as well! We tried their famous honey cake, which reminded us a bit of Napoleon cake, but honestly, it was even better. So rich, light, and flavorful — absolutely loved it. We also had croissants, and they were unlike any we’ve tried before. They were sliced open and stuffed generously — mine was filled with ham and cheese, and my girlfriend had one with mushrooms. Super tasty and really unique! Everything was fresh and full of flavor, but what stood out the most was the warm atmosphere and kind staff. Highly recommended!

A lovely little oasis in St Peter's Street. It is very pleasant to sit in the garden away from the hustle & bustle of the city. There is a varied menu including filled baguettes, croissants and delicious pastries. The croque monsieur & the petit dejeuner are favourites with us. The staff are always friendly and efficient.

Great little gem. Really cozy inside. I've lived in Paris and the quality of the pastries are as good as in France. Flaky and soft croissants, excellent quiches and great coffee. A must stop for a great breakfast or brunch if you are hanging around Canterbury.

Nice little coffee & pastry shop. Bacon quiche was really nice. My partner ordered german sausage baguette - bread was really good but sausage & filling can be better. Fruit pie was fresh. Coffee & hot choc were standard. Staffs were friendly and place is cozy.

Genuinely, one of the best cafes I have ever been in the UK. Nice service. The staff was very nice and friendly. The pastries and sweet were delicious and not too sweet. We really love the apple tart and custard cake. The atmosphere was lovely. I'd would definitely come back if I got a chance to visit Canterbury again.

Went here for food but left underwhelmed. Food overpriced for what you get. Burger below par and nowhere near worth the money, chips good but they should be for a fiver a portion! Nice venue, friendly and helpful staff. My other half had a berry mojito which she rated. Has outside seating.

The greatest service ever on the pub! We could sit outside...very near to the river! Amazing vibes! Beer super cold, it's the local bear called spitfire, it's light and tasty! Super recommend it!

Mermerizing experience. The location is right next to the river and its a two minute walk from the high street. The staff are always happy to see guests with a big smile on their faces! I didn't stay in the millers arms. I only came here for food and drink. It was a Sunday afternoon, I spent the day in Canterbury and I really wanted a Sunday roast and a pint of Guinness. The millers arms delivered on both counts. The pub is situated beside the stoar river so the scenery is amazing. The staff were lovely and the food arrived soon after we ordered. If you're in the Canterbury area and you're famished. Then come to the Millers arms 😊

Really enjoyed my stay at the Millers Arms. The staff were warm and welcoming and location is spot on, right by the river, with lovely views of the old bridge and the historic mill, which gives the place a lot of charm. Special thanks to Paul for the great service.

Lovely friendly pub. Great service and room was fabulous. Small minus on room was on bathroom facilities. Nothing serious but needs a little attention but wouldn't stop me re-booking the same room in future. Loved it.

A very welcome home type of place with great beer and delicious cider. They also have wine here too. You can feel the amount of history here.

I'd been pestered for weeks by my son to take him here so I took my daughter this morning. I'd had an ECG at the doctor's earlier, so the timing felt apposite. We opted for the Solo Special which was quite excellent. Properly cooked black pudding rather than the cremated blood patty I've been given elsewhere in Canterbury. The eggs, bacon and mushroom were all cooked to perfection. The table was spotless and the staff were courteous and polite. Parking available too! A great experience, as was the ECG test earlier on.

We were just on our way home from Dover to Blue Bell Hill and decided to turn of at the Canterbury off the A2 and found the Cafe Solo 😃 we were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff 👍 who served us up some delicious food 🍱 in a very clean and welcoming setting 😃 we had the Sunday roast which was very tasty 👍 the place is spotlessly clean 👍 and as a bonus there is parking for customers as well 😃 we will be back and would definitely recommend 😎

Perfect little Cafe if you're in the Wincheap area, fair prices, huge portions, great flexibility on build your own breakfasts. They have an extensive menu and even offer smoothies if you want to counteract the fry up 😋 Polite and efficient staff, overall great experience again!

I think it’s a family run business because they take pride in everything they do. Food was wonderful Staff polite Cafe very clean There’s only two cafe’s I would take my wife too and this is one of them.

I was really impressed with cafe solo. We went there for breakfast and I really couldn't fault the food - I wanted a good fry up and that's exactly what I got. The milkshake here is also some of the best I've had around Canterbury, actually made using ice cream with a dollop of cream on top. The only reason I haven't put 5 stars for the food is because it didn't wow me like my other 5 star reviews, but it was still very decent. The staff were super friendly but gave us the space we wanted to eat together, the space was clean, and we were even surprised with complimentary Turkish delight. Overall, would recommend. They have a small carpark, but there are supermarkets nearby.

I recently visited Longport cafe and had such a wonderful experience that I felt compelled to share. From the moment I walked in, the warm and cozy atmosphere immediately made me feel at ease. The soft lighting, rustic decor, and gentle background music created the perfect setting for both relaxing and catching up with friends. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. I ordered the avocado poached egg and a cappuccino, both of which exceeded expectations. The toast was perfectly crunchy and butter ,while the coffee had a rich, smooth flavour with the perfect amount of foam. What really stood out, though, was the service. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They checked in without hovering and offered great recommendations with a smile. Wow, what an awesome cafe! I work just round the corner at the university and have been meaning to try this place for a while. I was not disappointed! The decor and vibe of the place is very welcoming, and the service was impeccable. I ordered the set 2, which was great value for about 8 quid considering it includes tea and toast/bread. Every part of the meal was cooked perfectly and the ingredients are good quality. Sausage was nice and herby too which is just how they should be. Will definitely come again more regularly to support such a well-run establishment with superb food and value.

Terrible Customer Service at Wetherspoon in Canterbury I recently visited the Wetherspoon in Canterbury and had one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever encountered. I arrived at the bar at 00:55, just before closing time, and ordered a drink. The barmaid was about to prepare my drink when another staff member, who seemed to be in charge of the Bosch, decided to keep her busy with other tasks. He clearly saw that I was waiting, but instead of allowing her to serve me, he deliberately distracted her until the clock struck 01:00. When he finally came over, he told me that the bar was closed and refused to serve me. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable. It felt like they went out of their way to avoid serving a customer who was there well before closing time. If they didn’t want to serve drinks after a certain hour, they should have just said so instead of wasting my time. I left feeling extremely frustrated and disappointed. I won’t be returning to this Wetherspoon, and I strongly advise others to avoid it if you expect any kind of decent service.

Went in for a late night drink after a busy day at work, got made a lovely pimms and lemonade where the kind man at the bar gave good speedy service and let me choose the fruit that went in my drink. Also got some puddings which were great! Great atmosphere and kind staff!

This is a great place for breakfast. Staff are really friendly and efficient. Food, although not top quality, is definitely value for money. There are many places that charge a lot more for the same or worse. Grab a seat by the window so that you can people watch too. Highly recommended.

Very accommodating to my fussiness on changing how they cook things in the kitchen. The duty manager Georgia was lovely, and really helpful. Would definitely recommend here to anyone. Very reasonable and nice atmosphere.

Really nice Wetherspoons situated on the other side of the river opposite Westgate Tower. I like that it has a nice little area by the window to sit by, as well as lots of tables and booths. We ordered on the app and the drinks came out really quickly, and the food wasn’t far behind, which was bought out by two staff members. I tried the new chargrill half chicken they’ve recently added to the menu and it was really nice! It came with some chips and a little pot of gravy. It was all very flavoursome. I noticed while I was sat eating my dinner that they have a really useful touch screen display situated near the bar where you can pull up any allergy information for anything on the menu. I thought this was really useful for people who don’t want to queue up at the bar to ask if it’s busy. Overall very impressed with my visit here, the staff were really attentive and the food was lovely. Would definitely come back.

Best Wetherspoons I've visited. Tables get cleared reasonably quickly, it's clean, the food is always spot on and the staff are ace. Compared to a few of my local Wetherspoons "Up North" it's like a different chain.

20th Nov 2024. Went in for a bite to eat today. Food was fine, however it was so cold inside the cafe. I noticed that everyone had their coats on and the couple next to us remarked how cold it was. If you're looking for a warm space to eat or drink forget it and go somewhere else. M&S you need to put the heating on!

A friendly faced welcome would have been nice. Cheese scone good, coffee OK.

On Saturday afternoon staff far too young to care so for an afternoon tea you end up with a dry and COLD scone and the tiniest portion of buter , you want jam , you pay on the top and for the clotted cream it is (as I was told) available to buy from the shop !! one star for an ok cappuccino

First chicken ciabatta delivered was rock hard. Could not insert a fork. Second attempt was softer but tasteless. Cheese loaded chips were stone cold and hardly cooked. Tea and coffee ok Never experienced this in other M&S cafes. After speaking to staff and management they were apologetic and will deal with this. Consequently, I have updated the rating from 1 star to 3.

We had raspberry frappe (£4.00 each!)and after asking for 2 three times(operative kept telling me she was new)we got the aforementioned. Well,the glass was totally sticky(my cream trousers suffered)on both..the frappe was not well made.I buy them in Hastings and Bexhill-on-Sea store (m an d s cafe)Hastings is the BEST..proper rise of cream on top,sprinkles,etc. More training required?

Ordered a Kentish Mac and cheese and it was awful. The pasta is bland and mushy and has a light layer of cheese on top which tastes like plastic. I recommend getting the ready made ones from coop.

Decent quality breakfast from £4.50, mine was £5.50 with extra egg and sausage. They also do meal deal @ £3.60, a sandwich, a soft drink and a packet of Kent crisps. Staff were friendly and plenty of tables.

I've visited this place multiple times over the years during university, and the service at the front desk has consistently been poor—ranging from unhelpful to outright unfriendly. The food is decent, but nothing special. If you're looking for a better dining experience, I'd recommend eating elsewhere.

I stopped by the café for the Comedy & Curry Night. I had a delicious Homemade Vegetable Biryani and Onion Bhajis. The staff were polite and attentive, the waiting time was good (despite it being busy) and the food was delicious. Highly recommend stopping by early if you’re going to see a show as I got really busy as the evening wore on.

This place is a life saver after a Calais-Dover channel crossing that sells a bacon bap for 6 quid. The Beano is a no frills no nonsense proper english breakfast, with polite staff and reasonable prices. A proper caf'!

Best place for breakfast, absolutely brilliant every time I visit. The coffee is the best I've tried in canterbury, not sure why it's so good but it is. I've been to most cafes in canterbury now and this is by far the best. The food is always hot and fresh, very little wait time, service is always spot on and one of the best places for prices. Seriously, try this place, at least for a fry-up if nothing else.

I wanted a toy so i ordered a happy meal. Options on the app says toy or book. I chose toy. They gave me a book. They ran out of toys. They said its ‘subject to availability’ so i didn’t have a choice They should have removed the toy option if they didnt have it. I feel like i got scammed!

I recently visited McDonald's Old Thanet Way and was extremely disappointed to find a hair in my food. When I brought it to the staff's attention, they apologized but seemed more focused on dismissing the issue rather than taking concrete steps to rectify the situation. What's more concerning is that the staff weren't wearing hairnets while preparing food, which raises serious hygiene concerns. I hope the management takes steps to improve food safety and staff practices to prevent such incidents in the future.I spoke to the manager Amber she accepted the mistake but no further action was taken.

Ordered burgers for delivery which was great. However that said never again. Food was ice cold and tasted like cardboard and I swear they make the fries out of plastic ugh so disgusting compared to Burger King

This McDonald's has a large indoor seating area compared to others . However, the car parking spaces do not reflect this. Air con works well, so you need to eat your food quickly. The food was tasty and hot. Had to ask for another drink as I think mine had been sitting for a while, so was tepid. Staff sorted this out. Drive, though, here is busy and looked easy to access .

We were in the area and had a bit of time to kill so came here for a cuppa. Cost nearly £5 for two hot drinks. The drinks were self service and there was a note on the table asking customers to clear away their own stuff too. I don't mind mind either of those things but would expect the drinks cost to be cheaper seeing as we're doing it all ourselves. The uht milk for the drinks was pretty disgusting. The windows had been 'cleaned' but with what I can only assume was a cloth that had been dipped in a dirty puddle first. Overall, pretty disappointing

Ordered vegetarian burger. Very soggy, like warm chips. Seemed to have been cooked along time ago. Burger was OK, 2 x patties, salad and sauce. Also served with coleslaw. Cafe pretty empty (maybe people know about the chips) large space, seemed quite clean.

The older lady serving is not friendly, borderline rude. She doesn't really speak and when ordering a breakfast didn't give the option to change or add when asked about this she should you should have told me.. surely it's her job to ask.. if your not happy I'm your job move on. Picked up a self checkout order of £45 - when we returned home it transpired two full meals (roughly £20 ) just weren't in the bag. Obviously, no way to prove it, no chance of recompense; just a sense of being ripped off. Advise caution.

I have place food from Uber.. as I am vegan and my friend non vegetarian! Shocking to see they packed all my food in same bag knowing what order I placed.. if they cannot pack properly what’s the cross contamination method they are using in the kitchen to make… I definitely need my refund!

Literally always our first stop in Canterbury and today was no different. The last table occupiers had left their tray of food remnants and rubbish, along with an empty bag from neighbouring Chopstix. We had table service and didn't have to wait too long. It was not a friendly atmosphere at all for my autistic son George he ordered one big mac meal, 5 wrap of the days, 20 mcnuggect sharebox and 2 vanilla milkshakes. Unfortunately the order came 30minutes delayed instead of 5 minutes, my son is very furious and we will never come back to this shitty establishment

I had to order two orders because they added cheese to my order even though I’m allergic to cheese, twice they have added cheese even though I called to complain! When asked to go there I couldn’t because I have a broken foot! This is shameful but also allergy awareness

Decent food, good selection, the staff were excellent. I loved the small bar at the back with the chess set. I think the furniture could do with some work as it doesn't quite fit the surroundings. Overall very good. Thanks for having us.

One of the waiters was very professional and high-profile, while the others still seemed to be learning. Unfortunately, the food was a real disappointment. I ordered spaghetti alle vongole, but it was disastrous—sticky and poorly cooked. My husband chose a simple sea urchin and prawn pasta, but it also lacked flavour. For the quality, the prices are far too high, and overall it felt like something in the kitchen really needs to change. If you are staying at the hotel and want to try the restaurant, I would suggest ordering the octopus antipasto or a fish main course, and definitely avoid the pasta. Otherwise, it’s better to eat elsewhere.

The coffee and pre-packaged food offerings are of high quality. I frequently utilize the outdoor seating area for people-watching, a personal leisure activity.

The cafe was warm and the staff were working quickly to fulfill orders. I often find that tables are not cleared promptly when customers leave however I blame the company and not the staff as IMHO they never have enough. We all know they are not cheap but you pay your money and make your choices but it's good coffee for me. You can make some savings by downloading their app and collecting virtual coffee beans and getting a freebie when you reach ten. Please be aware that certain branches and vending machines do not support the offer. This branch like most has free wi-fi. There is an upstairs seating area but this was closed when I visited as it was within an hour of closing time.

We stopped here to buy our usual favourite coffee...biggest disappointment evet...we bought a flat white and a late. The flat white was frothy as a cappuccino tasted horribly milky despite ordering it with an extra shot. Asked for it to be changed...the same taste. We noticed that they only make an effort for sitting in drinks and the take aways they just damp in the cup. The latte was also horrible the only thing you could taste is milk. As a former barista I DO NOT RECCOMMEND you to drink a coffee from here, go and try somewhere else if you don't want to be disappointed.

Food's nice and all, but whenever I order through deliveroo Costa cannot pack their food properly or always misses an item. Please improve on delivery packing, because Cafe Nero is doing a much better job at that.

Busy Costa, but clearly understaffed. They shouod have a member of the staff that goes frequently upstairs as students make.a.mess wherever they go. On top of that, seeing a 5min queue everytime I go there, puts me off when I want to buy coffee. Size wise, and look it one of the most visually impressive costa in the nation. But more work needs to be done.

As an Australian and a coffee snob I have to say this is easily the best coffee I’ve had in England so far! The staff even knew how to make a Magic! Cute vibes inside and a little outdoor spot to sit in the sun, all situated on a quaint little street near the cathedral but away from the busy centre.

Delicious speciality coffee, but the strawberry crème patisserie danish was the star of the show. I hunt for the best pastries whenever I visit somewhere new, and this is the best pastry I have had maybe ever. Definitely recommend stopping here if you are in Canterbury

Ordered a hamburger which included an extra of bacon. Got home to find it had no bacon, but the ticket printed on the wrapper confirmed Add Bacon. Called to ask for a refund and was told at first they couldn't hear me, despite my line was clear, and there was alot of chatter in their background, and then was told I would need to return to the store to get a refund. How ridiculous. So a customer needs to unwrap every item in store before leaving in case the staff have made an error? There needs to be another point of checking items before the food is handed out to the customer.

Ordered food and wait time is 15 mins.. The sole of Mcdonalds is the turn around time! I might use other options going forward!

I like the place and it's fairly good. The reason why I am giving 4 stars is that sometimes the restaurant doesn't smell nice, and the toilets as well. Otherwise, all are good. Available: big car park, toielts, disabled access, shops nearby like Iceland, Tkkmaxx, Sports Direct, Home bargain.

It is a good restaurant near Canterbury. It wasn't busy inside but lots of deliveries outside working in and out. There wasn't any ice-cream so we had to change our mind for dessert. Good parking as shared with other shops

Went to the drive thru and it took about 5 minutes of me waiting there until someone finally said “i’ll be with you shortly”. Couple of minutes later i was half way through ordering until the person taking my order just stopped me half way through and said give me one second and didnt come back to finish my order after a few minutes. Then i got asked to park and it took about 15 minutes until my food arrived where they didnt even bother adding any sauce, the chips were cold and stale. Thought this is supposed to be “fast food” and even when they take longer than usual the food is not up to standard i expected it to be fresh hence why it took so long but no. Rubbish

McDonald's more than what they offer or more than staff does already is nothing else more that they can do really. Loads of teenagers as customers they are rude and very noisy, with lack of respect for the people that work there or for the rest of the customers. So a big aplauze for McDonald's staff for dealing with such type of people. They are always nice and try to help.

Lovely people their food always makes a hard day easier to deal with. Really friendly service and great portions for a very reasonable price. The tuna baguettes and chicken nuggets are better than McDonalds. Cannot recommend enough honestly, we eat here almost every week when we can.

Came here for a morning coffee but was greeted with an amazing selection of baking. I went for the pistachio croissant and ice caramel latte. The pistachio croissant was huge!! Had to share it, although could have had 3 of them because it was so delicious. The pistachio wasn’t over powering and not too sweet, it was in the Goldilocks zone. The actual croissant was soft and flakey. The Caramel ice latte paired well with the croissant. The latte itself wasn’t too sweet either and the flavour of the coffee was not over powered. It was refreshing just what I needed for a warm Saturday morning. They have any thing from cakes to pies. It’s a lovely place well decorated and very friendly staff. I would highly recommend this place!

very beautiful interior. however i should’ve known not to expect good quality food from a place that prioritises its appearance. i ordered an iced chai latte, expecting a chai latte and ice cubes in a cup, not a whole chai frappe. the drink tasted of just milk and cinnamon flavouring - not chai. also, the iced white chocolate mocha tasted just like milk, nothing more nothing less. quite disappointing. the staff also went on about “our frappes are not like other frappes..” then don’t label it a frappe on your menu? label your food as what it is.

UPDATE: 20 JUNE 2025 Just popped into Amalis for a spot of lunch and noticed the ice cream display by the door. Obviously, I had to try one and it was AMAZING! All of the ice creams are homemade in house and are beautifully presented. I tried the strawberry ice cream, made with strawberries (!) and it was one of the best ice creams I've ever had. I would highly recommend stopping off here on a hot day for a tasty cooling treat 😀. Amalis is a lovely café, situated on Upper Bridge Street, opposite Burgate in Canterbury. Stopped for lunch and had an amazing filo chicken pie and coffee. Tasted great and a lovely coffee too. I would highly recommend the short trip out of the city centre to this absolute gem. Called in on the way home from Dover and ordered 2 full breakfasts - after waiting 45 minutes for the food my wife overheard a customer getting told that was ordering that it’s about half hour wait for food, after another 15 minutes a chap on another table that had been sitting in the cafe before we ordered managed to get his bacon roll! After sitting waiting for an hour and 20 minutes with no food we’d had enough, got a refund and left. Such a shame as it’s got great potential but not well managed, but in fairness the bike shop was as helpful as a chocolate fire guard too 🫣 Is it a Southern mentality to just leave people waiting forever while trying to avoid eye contact? The 1 star for service isn’t anything to do with the young lady on the till serving people - she was lovely and very polite (I waited to speak to the bloke and he left when a rather grumpy Welsh bloke asked for a refund) And lastly the 1 star for atmosphere - was because of the sad and hungry customers left waiting for food. All in all if intermittent fasting is your thing then visit this cafe 🙈😂

Brilliant place to ride out to when the weather suits. Can be Busy but service Is fast, staff are friendly and food is food. Brilliant biker cafe and well worth a stop to eat and be around other bikers. Very excepting atmosphere. The coffee is good to.

Can't say I was bowled over with the place ...it wasn't bad ...it was very clean ..it was certainly uncontaminated with customers.. guy serving seemed a bit distant...other than then it was fine

I arrived fairly early and was actually their first customer of the day for a Sunday and a full English breakfast. It was as other people said spotless! For an ageing cafe/Bikers meet. Also the food was very good and a lot of it, I was very pleased and didn't eat again until the evening! Obviously there is plenty of parking and of course it is adjoined to the Hs Honda dealership. However this is a cafe anyone can use and it's convenient if you are Dover bound for the ferry.

Ordered a full English breakfast with toast waited 40 minutes for the food to arrive when it did arrive it was a basic breakfast. Eventually after I complained I got a extra sausage and toast but not hash brown bacon there was not many people in the cafe

Why is the food here so much better than any other supermarket? Is it just higher concentrations of sugar and fat? Do M&S shoppers therefore have a shorter life expectancy? Do the management waft meth fumes through the air conditioning? They waft something and it's so so so good. But despite its next-level produce I'm glad this store isn't round the corner for me -- I might be happier but I'd be even more broke. Highly recommended.

Considering the locale, there is a wide range of food. It was a Saturday afternoon and there were lots of gaps on the shelves though. Of course, M&S food was dependably tasty.

Cafe useless. Dishwasher broken again so cappuccino in a paper cup. Forgot my food order so waited ages. Value for money? No. This is not just food. This is an M&S disaster of a cafe

Stopped off for a coffee and bacon roll which was excellent and the staff are super friendly in the restaurant. Please do move the flowers as the restaurant smells like pee unfortunately.

The greatest supermarket on the planet, I've said it yep you can boo me but if you don't have an M&S in your country and your in the uk go to an M&S they have food and clothes

Don’t waste your time or money! Used to visit quite often but absolutely awful now ! Really awful food , coffee was ok but toasted sandwiches were foul and not even hot throughout. The decor is so awful, filthy dirty and falling apart! Had to sit on disgusting chairs as the upstairs was closed and we had already purchased food and drinks at that point!!Not the high quality British casual dining cafe they claim to be on their website!! I did put a complaint in to the company but so far absolutely no response!

Without a doubt my favourite coffee shop in Canterbury. The staff are super friendly and always take the time to have a conversation with me. The coffees are always made with care and I’ve never had any problems with them. (My go-to atm is their matcha - absolutely delicious). Their prices are cheap for an independent business, in comparison to larger companies such as Starbucks or Costa. I look forward to visiting each morning before work to grab one to go, or to spend an hour or two relaxing.

The food was good but very pricey, And the staff were friendly. However the toilets are upstairs and two out if the three toilets were out of order. The only toilet that was working had no toilet paper and was not clean. The disabled toilet was absolutely disgusting and was a health hazard! Unfortunately I did not take my phone to take any photos.

Decent and pleasant enough for a quick lunch bite,. Average prices, good coffee, air con upstairs was welcome. Not much to choose re food however. A good pit stop!

The toilets were far dirtier and smellier than any I’ve encountered on a train. It didn’t seem like cleaning products were used frequently. The hand dryer didn’t work, I had to use the loo roll that was balancing on top of the loo roll holder to dry my hands. The one that everyone else had already handled. The staff didn’t tell me that there is a lift for us disabled people to use. It’s quite obvious that I have mobility issues. Otherwise the service was good and the mango iced tea was lovely. I wouldn’t go back again as dirty smelly toilets make me wonder what the kitchen is like.

All the young ladies working here are so cheerful and friendly. The cafe is clean and tidy, and the addition of the lovely green area of plants is welcome. I understand this is due to the conscientious care of Ruby. Well done for going the extra smile!

Beautiful coffee shop with a cricket ground view. Sun is just facing the cafe. Planty of natural lights and lots of indoor plants inside. They have outdoor sitting and WiFi, too. They have allocated parking for the customers. Accessible toilate with separate baby change room . Also, a book shelf with books and a few toys and crayons for kids.

Absolutely outstanding food, far beyond what I expected, if that’s not too rude to say! Sandwiches were all freshly made and cakes (I had a couple) the same. Service was impeccable too. Can’t recommend strongly enough. Shan’t be taking my own sandwiches to the cricket again! 10/10.

Perfect stop for coffee and a light lunch ☕️🥪 Tucked away in the corner of the Kent cricket ground Oriole Cafe next to the Sainsbury’s express. It’s a lively cafe with a good selection of brunch and light lunch options in addition to coffee, smoothies and chilled drinks. Parking is limited outside the cafe but there is additional space inside the cricket grounds.

Oriole is the kind of find you selfishly feel you don’t want to share while wanting to shout about because they deserve to succeed. I spotted the discrete chalk board beyond Sainsbury’s car park beyond the cricket club doors and ventured forth. Walked in and felt …wow! What a breath of fresh air! Spacious seating looking out on Kent cricket green. Literally a small window cleverly left ajar keeping air circulation feeling fresh and covid safe. Loved my flat white with oat and tuna melt, served with small side salad. And where else gives you a glass of fresh water to wash it all down. If your local, be sure to get your Oriole loyalty card. Lovely little coffee shop with cute decor inside. Didn’t grab any food but the pastries all looked good. I ordered an iced caramel latte and it was delicious! The cup was huge too and not the usual tiny ones which is a great bonus!

I love walking through Wincheap into Canterbuy and Shot Space is the nicest little “ hole in de wall “ to duck into for a rest or to while away a few minutes of watching traffic go by. I only tried the coffee which was just the pick me up shot I felt for but the menu and items on offer looked worth another pop in some time on my walking way. Love the Indy vibes of these little places so let’s support local wherever you find yourself locally!

Went here with my friends for lunch, and oh my god the hot chocolate is one of the best I've ever had. Being able to choose which type of chocolate it is was great, and the paninis were also amazing. We'll definitely be frequenting :)

We hired the meeting room upstairs at Shot Space; it was small but bright, perfect for a small group. When we arrived the room had been setup ready for us. The refreshments provided were a pot of tea, fresh coffee, juice, sparkling water, crisps, and delicious selection of local cakes. The staff there were really helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommended. Make sure you call, pop in or book via Instagram; I got no replies from the email address listed on the website.

Great cafe, one of not so many in Wincheap. Friendly staff, good coffee, lovely fresh soup every morning, good variety of cakes and sweet treats, and healthy sandwiches. Staff are happy to accommodate common dietry restrictions.

Brought my dog in today for a treat and the barista was so lovely 🥺 the pumpkin spice latte was amazing and my dog got a pup-cup for himself. I really recommend this cafe and I think it may be one of my new go-tos.

I have been going to this little sweet cafe nearly on a daily basis since they opened. Fay and Ellie are so welcoming, friendly and amazing cooks and bakers. Their food is something else, and pretty much the hotspot for people to have their lunch from the local businesses. I will be sad that I won't be able to visit as often due to moving jobs, but I can guarantee anyone that comes here will have an amazing experience, phenomenal food and be welcomed with open arms. I shall be back when not working that's for sure. ❤️

Our takeaway Christmas Dinner and brownie tray did not disappoint and was perfect for our 2nd Christmas day with our son. We both had the Black kite beef burgers which were amazing, so tasty and very generous portions. There’s a good variety of breakfast, lunch and snack options. Staff are very friendly and welcoming.

We came for a family lunch and the food was incredible! Lots of choice and portions were huge! The food was reasonably priced and made fresh ! The service was friendly and efficient- would definitely recommend this little hidden gem!

Service wasn't very good without smile and attitude. Very sad when I'm the one who was giving them smile to lift up their mood and can't get it back even I'm a customer.
