The 11 best breakfast and brunch in Arezzo

Paola and Stefano are fantastic and provide excellent service. Pastries are always fresh!

As part of my exchange program in Arezzo, the program gives us vouchers to go to different food locations, my favourite has to be Bar Stefano. With the little Italian I’ve been learning, they are patient and always happy to help. The coffee is a ten out of ten and i made it my mission to try most of their pastries and cookies, my favourite is the thin vanilla biscotti and their cannoli. Their terrace is lovely for reading and journaling, and their workers are very nice and welcoming. Will remember this place for the rest of my life❤️

Stopped in Caffé Pasticceria Stefano because of the crowd of locals and old world charm. My « Italian » breakfast was a pot of Breakfast tea and a cornetto (which was a pastry like a croissant). The cornetto I chose had a generous custard filling. The inside had pastry layers showing lamination but this pastry wasn’t laden with butter (like a French croissant). It was light and fluffy. I asked and found out the bakery was upstairs from the shop! The cost was moderate: Pot of water for tea + cornetto (paste) was €5.30. The caffé has several rooms inside, an outside patio and tables on the street. I’d love to return to try some of the other pastries and sweets! They look yummy! Food & Beverage: 5 Stars (a German tea brand) Service: 4.5 stars (they try to keep tables clear (I had to clear mine) & it might be a bit difficult to pay for a ticket to get your food & drink) Ambiance: 4.5 stars (Nice decor! It’s a bit hectic on busy fair days but a plus is there’s a WC upstairs)!

Great pasticceria that serves also serves very nice ice cream! Perfect for pause during your visit of the city center of Arezzo. Just go in, order some coffee and pastery and/or ice cream along with that. Has seats inside and outside. Would come back again!

I had a very bad experience at Bar Stefano. While I was at the hotel, I started craving some hot chocolate. I left the hotel in search of some delicious hot chocolate in the area, but unfortunately, I discovered Bar Stefano where things didn't go as planned. I was served expired hot chocolate, which made me run to the bathroom immediately after tasting their hot beverage. Thinking that things couldn't get worse, their bathroom smelled horrible... The smell of "fishes" was so unbearable that I took the risk to run back to my hotel. Hopefully, I made it back to the hotel. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

We struck it lucky with this great wee place. The food was delicious - generous focaccia slices with a range of fresh good fillings on offer - and very well priced. They'll toast it if you want. The coffee was excellent. There is a tempting array of sweet items, from cakes to pastries and slices, and everything we tried was delicious. It's not flashy, but a cosy place to be, and the service was warm and genuine. Recommended!

I despaired at finding a good, old fashioned caffé in Arezzo. Then I came to Pasticceria Filli Bruschi. The caffé was established in 1937 and remains a family business. Their bakery (labratorio) is in the back of the shop. Locals frequent here. I stopped by for English breakfast tea and a traditional Italian cornetto. I got the ceramic tea pot, cup and saucer all with the « B » logo of Bruschi. The pistachio cornetto was huge! Italian cornettoes are like brioche bread with cream inside. The pistachio cream was generous. So tasty! Highly recommend this old world caffé. Long live Bruschi!
