The Vasa Museum in Stockholm is a must-visit attraction, housing the incredibly well-preserved Vasa ship, which tragically sank on its maiden voyage in 1628 and was salvaged centuries later. This popular museum offers an immersive journey through Sweden's maritime history, showcasing the meticulously restored vessel and providing insights into its ill-fated expedition. It appeals to history enthusiasts, maritime history buffs, and families seeking educational experiences.
Visiting the Vasa Museum was, without question, one of the absolute highlights of our time in Stockholm. The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by the breathtaking sight of the nearly fully intact 17th-century warship that gives the museum its name. Photos honestly don’t do it justice — the size, craftsmanship, and sheer presence of the Vasa are overwhelming in the best way. It’s one of the most incredible old-world ships I’ve ever seen, both in scale and in the intricacy of the carvings and details that have been so remarkably preserved. What really adds to the experience is the storytelling. There’s an almost cinematic quality to learning that the ship — after all the effort and grandeur that went into building it — sank on its maiden voyage just minutes after setting sail. That “spoiler” moment doesn’t diminish the tour; if anything, it makes the rest of the exhibits even more compelling. The museum does a fantastic job of unpacking the engineering flaws, the historical context, and the recovery efforts in ways that keep both casual visitors and history buffs hooked. One of the best surprises was the basement level. Unlike the ornate upper floors, it has a more relaxed, less crowded feel, with fascinating displays about the preservation process and everyday life on the ship. If you visit Stockholm, this is a non-negotiable must-see. Plan to give yourself at least two hours to really take it all in.
Jarred F — Google review
I didn't think the Vasa was going to leave the mark on me that it did. When I visited, I had a bad back and this museum had plenty of places to stop and rest and take pressure off my back. It's a good 7 floors. You can see almost every angle of the ship. The artwork and carvings on the outside of the ship was amazing to see the extensive detail and expressions. The size of the smallest mast was shocking. It really gave the vision of how large the ship truly is. We enjoyed the painted sculptures to show what they most likely looked like when they were on the ship. The museum took about an hour for us to tour. We didn't do the walking tour and we didn't have a guided tour either. But if you are extensively into history or the full story of the ship, I would recommend it. The gift shop has lots of souvenirs and is worth the stop
Lynn H — Google review
The Vasa Museum was a pretty awesome thing to see in Stockholm. The 17th century warship is so well preserved. In fact, it is still an incredible 98% original. There is an auditorium where you can watch a short film about Vasa, which was very helpful and educational. The ship is actually still actively being worked on to preserve it, decades after it was salvaged in the 1960s. If you are a visiting Stockholm for the first time, I highly recommend that you visit this amazing museum.
Liam C — Google review
The Vasa Museum is a very well designed and built museum, with lots of fun facts and information regarding living on the ship, what happened to it, etc. I found it very informative and interesting. And of course, the preserved ship was just amazing. I’d say the price is worth it, we spent somewhere between 2-3 hours here. It was a bit crowded, not gonna lie, but still manageable. If you are visiting Stockholm, you should definitely check out this museum!
Hajnalka K — Google review
A must-visit in Stockholm! The museum is laid out so nicely. Each floor is dedicated to specific “layers” of the ship, so you are learning about something that you can see directly from where you are standing. The bottom floor has very interesting stories about the people on it, as well as DNA research into who they were. We spent an hour here as we arrived close to closing time but easily could have stayed for much longer — wish we had two hours or more!
Tanya G — Google review
This was one of the most interesting museums I’ve ever been to. My initial thought was, how much content could there be for a museum about just one boat? Well tons! They found a way to highlight so many aspects of this ship’s short journey. The museum touches on the passengers, the construction, the history and the unfortunate fate of the ship’s maiden voyage among many other aspects. This museum is well worth your time.
Jason T — Google review
The museum was simply amazing. I had never seen or visited anything like it before. It made a strong impression on both me and my boyfriend. Although I’m not particularly interested in ship-related themes, I was very pleasantly surprised. I found it fascinating and thoroughly enjoyable, and two hours passed completely unnoticed. My boyfriend was also deeply impressed and said it is simply the best museum in Stockholm. We visited in the evening, and I think it’s better to come earlier to avoid time constraints. Also, during the day, the interior is probably brighter, which might make the experience even better.
Lizaveta K — Google review
This is an impressive museum. Not only have they built a building around the ship, but many different sections that highlight various aspects of the ship and life on it. The many different texts were informative and luckily not too long. Listening to the audio via qr code is an easy and convenient way to get a feel for the narrative around the ship.

The Royal Palace, also known as Kungliga Slottet, is a magnificent Baroque-style palace in Stockholm, Sweden. It serves as the official residence of the Swedish monarch and houses over 600 rooms along with three museums and a vast library. Visitors can opt for an admission fee that includes a guided tour to explore the grandeur of this symbol of Sweden's monarchy. The palace offers a glimpse into history and culture through its opulent Royal Apartments, Treasury, and Royal Chapel.
The Royal Palace is an absolute must-see in Stockholm. The state rooms are jaw-dropping — every ceiling, wall, and piece of furniture is so ornate and over the top, it’s like walking through a living piece of history. But the real surprise is the basement. It has a completely different vibe — less formal, more immersive — and might actually be the most interesting part of the entire tour. You get a closer look at artifacts, the palace’s foundation, and stories that feel more personal than grand. If you have limited time, don’t skip the lower levels. It’s the perfect contrast to the splendor upstairs and gives a fuller picture of the palace’s history.
Jarred F — Google review
I took a guided tour and it was very good! The history and original decor was beautiful! There is no natural light in many rooms as to protect the artwork, so it was a little difficult to get quality photos and see some of the fine detail. The tour was not too long, but the chapel in a separate section of the main entrance was amazing and free to enter!
Jake W — Google review
We didn’t have time to buy tickets for entry, but there is a small gift shop that you can visit without entering the palace. The items there make for lovely souvenirs, and the prices are very reasonable. The quality of the products is quite good, making it a worthwhile stop even if you can’t go inside the palace itself

Great Palace to visit. One of the best we have seen in Scandanavia. Well worth avisit. Allow at least 2 hours though. Depending on time of yesr you visit, buy tickets in advance.

Pretty expensive... But definitely worth the money if you enjoy history. We missed the noon guard change too so somehow try to make it, as it's something that will enhance the experience. It's interesting to visit the museum and be sure to occasionally look up at the ceiling for some beautiful designs. The palace was also pretty good and child-friendly :) gamla stan itself is a good place, tbh
Shrinidhi G — Google review
Visiting the Royal Palace in Stockholm was an absolute highlight of my trip! The sheer grandeur and elegance of the building left me in awe from the very first moment. With its impressive architecture and rich history, it truly feels like stepping into a living piece of Sweden’s royal heritage. Each room we entered told a story, from the beautifully adorned halls to the treasures in the Royal Apartments and the glittering Crown Jewels in the Treasury. I especially loved the changing of the guard outside, which added a touch of ceremony and tradition to the experience. What I appreciated most was how well everything is preserved and presented. It’s not just a “museum,” it’s a vibrant place where history and tradition are still alive today. If you’re visiting Stockholm, the Royal Palace is a must. Whether you love history, architecture, or just want to immerse yourself in the regal atmosphere of Sweden, this place is unforgettable.
Andrei M — Google review
The palace was beautiful and there was some interesting art and architecture, but it’s not really that different from any other European royal palace to make it worth the 200kr/$20 ticket. If you are really into royals, this might be a more exciting place to visit. Otherwise you might be better off enjoying other sights.
TJ — Google review
If you’re somewhat interested in the royals or want to spend money, go for it. Otherwise I don’t believe it’s totally worth it. It’s just lots of mirrors and some artwork. Building was beautiful tho and staff seemed nice enough.

Historical landmark
Skansen is a renowned open-air living history museum in Sweden, featuring over 150 historic buildings from across the country and a replica of a 19th-century Swedish town. Visitors can interact with craftspeople dressed in period costumes as they demonstrate traditional trades such as glass-blowing and cobbling. The picturesque gardens and small zoo offer opportunities to see Nordic animals like otters, brown bears, and moose.
The Skansen Open-Air Museum in Stockholm is an absolute highlight and one of the most unique attractions in the city. It beautifully combines history, culture, and nature in one place, offering visitors a chance to step back in time and experience Swedish traditions in an authentic way. Walking through Skansen feels like traveling across Sweden’s past. The historic houses and farmsteads, each carefully relocated and restored, bring to life different regions and eras of the country. Costumed guides demonstrate traditional crafts, baking, and daily activities, making the experience both educational and entertaining. A special highlight is the zoo within Skansen, which focuses on Nordic animals. Seeing moose, bears, lynxes, reindeer, and even wolverines up close is unforgettable, especially for visitors who may not encounter these animals elsewhere. For families with children, the children’s zoo is a joy, offering a chance to meet farm animals and enjoy interactive activities. The location itself is stunning, with panoramic views over Stockholm and its waterways. Whether you’re interested in history, culture, wildlife, or simply a relaxing day outdoors, Skansen has something for everyone. In short, Skansen is more than a museum — it’s a living, breathing piece of Sweden. A perfect blend of cultural heritage and natural beauty, and a must-see for anyone visiting Stockholm.
Kalina M — Google review
This ws my first open air museum experience. I loved it. There were even people role playing from the era they belonged. The historical walk was an amazing experience. Although all the places wete not open, I could still get to experience few of the attractions. I personally was amazed by the glass making workshop. The zoo on the other side was also a fun experience. The ticket also included access to the match museum. It was worth the money and time. I ended up spending 3+ hours, yet I could not go to all the spots. Children's would love this place no doubt. During summer, this is the best place to come along with family. Online tickets are cheaper then buying on spot.
Ahnaf T — Google review
Loved our visit to Skansen! We went in early November and despite some attractions being shut, we still had a fantastic day. You really need a full days’ visit to see everything. You can walk around and see people dressed up in traditional clothing, some people will also interact with you or answer any questions you might have about their house. We saw the glassblowing and pottery demo and spoke to the nice man in the spice shop who made us feel like we were transported back in time to the 1800s. Don’t miss out on the English-speaking tour that starts by the top of the escalators as the guide takes you to parts of Skansen you don’t get access to on your own. The animals were a real highlight, we also loved seeing the smaller ones in the children’s zoo (bunnies, guinea pigs, mice). The seal talk is in Swedish but they do a demonstration of the keepers feeding the seals and that is also lovely to see. There was a lot to see and not enough time to go to the aquarium on our visit so we didn’t do that. There are some food stalls, a nice sit down restaurant and snacks being sold so we were able to have a lovely lunch inside. We booked our tickets online ahead of our visit.
Tanya G — Google review
We had a great time at Skansen. The old houses and farm buildings were fascinating to walk through – each one comes from a different part of Sweden, so you really get a feel for how people lived in the past. Seeing the Nordic animals was another highlight for us; lynx, wolverines, bears, and moose all in one place is pretty special. We visited as two adults, but it’s easy to see how much fun this would be for my kids too, with the animals, open-air history, and hands-on activities. There are also cafés and nice spots to take a break, so you can easily spend most of the day here. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Stockholm.
Joost M — Google review
Skansen Museum is an absolute must-visit in Stockholm! I loved exploring the open-air exhibits and getting a glimpse of how people lived in Sweden centuries ago. The traditional houses, workshops, and beautiful surroundings make the visit feel like stepping back in time. The animals were a lovely bonus, especially in such a well-kept environment. It’s a peaceful and charming place to spend a few hours, with great views and lots to learn. Highly recommended!
Btissam A — Google review
Really enjoyed Skansen museum. Was great to see local wild animals and different house buildings from Sweden. It would be great if more buildings were open to enter and explore but even without that it was a nice place to walk around. There were few cafes inside and some souvenir shops.
Virginia B — Google review
It was one of the best places I have ever been to. We booked the “Morning with animals” experience and it was one of the most interesting things I’ve ever done. The tour guide (shoutout to Martin) was absolutely dedicated to being as helpful as possible and explained everything in perfect English. As for the park, we got to see a lot of local animals and it was magical. The buildings are also stunning and incredibly beautiful, making you feel like you’re in a fairy tale. Would visit every weekend if it were possible.

ABBA The Museum in Stockholm is a must-visit for fans of the iconic Swedish pop group. It offers an immersive experience with a collection of memorabilia, interactive exhibits, and behind-the-scenes insights into ABBA's rise to fame. Visitors can explore a studio, dance floor, and enjoy engaging displays. The museum appeals to music enthusiasts, pop culture fans, and those nostalgic for the band's music. Families and children can also enjoy the interactive activities on offer.
Love this museum and learned a lot. I didn't really know much about them like how they were married to each other and stuff. It was fun and seeing the costumes was great. I have lots of photos and fun memories. It was def busy since I think it was the weekend so lots of tourist.

Visiting ABBA The Museum was an unforgettable experience! Even if you’re not the biggest fan of the band, the museum’s interactive exhibits make it fun and engaging for everyone. I loved stepping into recreated stage outfits, recording my own ABBA song, and seeing original memorabilia up close. The atmosphere is energetic and joyful, and the staff are welcoming. It feels less like a traditional museum and more like stepping into the world of ABBA. Definitely a must-see if you’re in Stockholm!
Kalina M — Google review
One of the BEST museums I’ve ever been to! It could be because I am an ABBA fan and so is my family, but another big reason is that the museum has so many FUN INTERACTIVE elements that there’s no way you ain’t gonna enjoy once you enter. From dancing, singing, designing your own costume, to playing the musical chess, I think this museum is just one of its kind and a MUST MUST MUST visit when in Stockholm!
Hardeep D — Google review
A fun museum!! I am not one to really enjoy museums and this one was worth the time and cost. The first display I saw was about the show in London with holograms. I never knew that and found it absolutely fascinating what they did! I loved the interactive 5th member of Abba stage, the silent disco, and the fun mirrors and photo taking opportunities. I enjoyed the Mama Mia area explaining the movie. As someone who never saw the movie, I found the information and designs interesting. There is a large section with post Abba music from all the members. I never knew the amount of music the members post group. This is a fun museum and I recommend it to everyone.
Lynn H — Google review
So much fun! Tons of original artifacts, storytelling, and interactive exhibits celebrating the music of ABBA. If you love this band’s timeless pop hits (and really, who doesn’t?), you’ll have a blast and learn something to deepen your connection with “Dancing Queen,” “Take a Chance on Me,” and all the rest. Long live ABBA!
Simon V — Google review
For music lovers, this is a Must Go place if you're in Stockholm. In fact, this is probably the main reason why you should make a trip to Stockholm!! A pilgrimage of sorts for us especially the generation that grow up listening to songs with really good melodies. ABBA epitomizes Pop music at a time when folks crosses over to Pop. We'll always be listening to Dancing Queen, Fernando, Mamma Mia, Money Money Money, Thank You for the Music, etc. These are truly evergreens. Although it's rather small in size, you should expect to spend 2 to 3 hours here. It's so nostalgic, capturing and each display will bring you back to the years gone by. Maybe even some tears as you start reminiscing your younger days. Even if ABBA is not up your alley, this is still a must go place if you're into music. Enjoy!!
Ken L — Google review
Awesome experience with an audioguide (using your own smartphone, bring earphones) to tell the story of how the band formed, their inspiration, composition process, and more. There was also a fun, interactive part to sing with the songs from ABBA in a mini studio, a show to perform side by side with them, and a nice bar and restaurant in the entrance. I’d like to have seen more options to purchase in the shop.

Nestled along the waterfront, Stockholm City Hall is a striking architectural gem completed in 1923, showcasing beautiful red brick and topped with a lantern-like tower. This iconic building is not only known for its stunning design but also as the venue for the prestigious annual Nobel Prize banquet. Visitors can wander through its grand ceremonial halls and council chamber, while those seeking breathtaking views can climb to the top of its tower for panoramic vistas of Stockholm's picturesque landscape.
Visited in September and definitely worth it. The garden is stunning as it has views of the water all around. It is important to mention that you need to book a tour in order to visit the inside of the City Hall, but it’s totally worth. The tour guide was very kind and answered every question thoroughly. If you come to Stockholm it is worth visiting
Andrea M — Google review
We were visiting the tower only and we enjoyed it a lot. It is very well kept, there is a lift for part of the stairs and there is a limited period of time you can spend upstairs as they form groups at certain intervals. I recommend buying tickets online as they dissappear fast.
Oana P — Google review
Stockholm City Hall is one of the most impressive landmarks in the city – an architectural masterpiece that combines history, culture, and breathtaking views. The building is majestic from the outside with its red bricks, tall tower, and elegant arches, while the interior is equally stunning with its richly decorated halls, especially the Golden Hall, where mosaics glitter and tell stories from Sweden’s history. The outdoor areas are just as remarkable – the beautiful courtyard and gardens, the statue of Birger Jarl (the city’s founder), and the scenic promenade along the water. From here you get some of the best views of Stockholm and the surrounding islands. The place feels both peaceful and inspiring, perfect for photography or simply enjoying a walk and the atmosphere. I highly recommend joining a guided tour – you’ll discover many fascinating stories about the building and the Nobel Prize banquets held here. Even if you don’t go inside, the complex and the waterfront are a must-see stop for every visitor to Stockholm. A true symbol of the city – beautiful, inspiring, and unforgettable! 🌟

We had such an amazing time visiting the Stockholm City Hall! The building is stunning, but what really made the visit special was our guide, Chris (Christopher). He was honestly phenomenal — super knowledgeable, funny, and so passionate about what he does. You could tell he truly loves sharing the history and stories behind the place, and Stockholm's/Sweden's history in general, which made the whole tour come alive. We all left saying how much we wished there were more guides like him! If you get the chance to visit, definitely do the English guided tour — it’s 100% worth it.

Stadstuset, is the city hall of Stockholm Municipality in Sweden. It is the venue of the Nobel Prize banquet and a major attraction for tourists. It is an example of Sweden's National Romantic style architecture, having a refined eclecticism, some elements of Venetian Gothic architecture, having blue decorated walls and made with almost 8 million red bricks.. In 1907, the work started being assembled, while the construction took twelve years, from 1911 to 1923, being finally inaugurated on 23rd of June 1923.

It is a truly amazing place to visit, with beauty both inside and out. As it is a building where people work, they have implemented strict rules, including being escorted by a local guide, which is a sensible measure for maintaining order. The interior is particularly lovely, featuring a variety of different rooms.

A masterpiece of Swedish Architecture. This building is an amazing experience for all whom are interested in nordic architecture philosophy. The legacy of heritage in terms of spaces and finishings could be found here. Huge interior spaces, impressive dialogue between walls - floors and ceilings. Genuine local marble, beautiful textured brickwork. A landmark of Stockholm, the heart of Nobel Prize Ceremony, which shouldn't be missed from your itinerary.

Fotografiska Museum Stockholm is housed in a historic customs house and is renowned for its contemporary photography exhibitions featuring works by Swedish and international photographers. The museum offers captivating installations, workshops, and interactive sessions for families and older children. Visitors can enjoy scenic dining options with waterfront views at the top-floor restaurant while taking in the gourmet food and world-class photography on display across four floors of the converted Art Nouveau warehouse.
The best museum ever, really. It’s the third time I come to Stockholm especially for see the exhibition here. It’s always super interesting but it’s a complete experience. The restaurant- the food is so good and the music is so cool; the architecture and the interior design is so cosy; the shop : you want to buy everything. The personal is very welcoming and sympathetic. Really it’s an addiction. I went to Berlin, Tallinn and New York for see the others Fotografiska and I’m super exiting to go to the one in Shanghai this summer.

Amazing restaurant experience with lovely staff and ambience. We had these two ‘snacks’ first, a thin sliced boar on toast (but much more than that) and a cup of goat cheese w berry. The tomato mezze was sublime and the squid with poached egg was my highlight; probably my best squid dish in years. Fun room with kitchen action plus views of the harbor. Free admission to museum with your reservation💕 Thanks all!

Excellent photography gallery in a striking coastal location in Stockholm. Located in an excellent architectural conversion of a previous customs building offers some dynamic exhibition spaces. On display at the time were exhibitions by the photographer video and film director Anton Corbijn , international images by Viviane Sassen and mid 20th century photographs by Hans Hammarskiold.

Great museum in an old building, interesting exhibitions. The bistro is excellent! Ate a pulled pork burger and an apple tart, and it was very good quality for a fair price. It has a lounge area, with great photos on rotation on huge screens. Very good ambiance. If I visit Stockholm again, this will be a must!

Fotografiska is such a cool place modern, creative, and full of inspiring exhibitions. The photos are always top-notch, and they rotate often, so there’s something new every visit. The café upstairs has one of the best views in Stockholm (and great food too!). Even if you’re not super into photography, it’s worth going for the atmosphere alone.

Location is good. View from cafe amazing. Phots on first floor I doing amazing, just super cool. Second floor was a bit abstract for me. If your are in Stockholm defiantly put this on the todo list.

Had an hour to kill before jumping a boat back to the motherland, so we decided to kill here. The photos were great and atmosphere fantastic. Highly recommend if you’ve got a couple hours before a ferry. The bar served cold ones.

I was bemused . I expected something fresh , avant- guard but instead was accosted by the tried and true. I was hoping for an elevation but that never happened. There were two works that were impressive, and that I attribute to the skills of the photographers. In essence the body of work rehased seasoned tropes.

Drottningholm Palace, a well-preserved 17th-century royal residence and a UNESCO World Heritage site, is the official home of the Swedish royal family. The palace boasts opulent interiors, expansive gardens, and the magnificent Baroque-style Drottningholm Palace Theatre. Visitors can explore the ornate Chinese Pavilion pleasure palace on its grounds. History and architecture enthusiasts, garden lovers, and those interested in royal heritage will find this place fascinating.
- An absolutely massive and well maintained castle + surrounding property. - Even if you don’t buy tickets to visit the inside, the outside area (free to visit btw) is quite the spectacle in itself. - Good place to have a nice little picnic with friends/family too. - Options to take a boat tour or even canoe. Overall highly recommended!

A great day tour idea. Easy to arrive from central Stockholm by public transport. The palace is really well preserved and it’s a great window to Swedish story. The gardens are beautiful and it’s a great spot to have a picnic, relax on the grass and enjoy the day. The palace and other buildings are paid but all gardens are free.

Coming by boat, we had a guided visit even if there is an APP for it, but the man who read our QRs simply ignored us and didn't give us the blue pin to wear on the clothes or even tell us where to wait. We were left confused as he called the next person in line. We had to go back, ask the nice lady next to him, who solved it... and turned out to be the guide herself! She was very nice and gave a lot of details about the castle and life inside it. It was a beautiful visit, with available chairs, yet we didn't know that there were several shops and not just the one by the entrance (we found them by chance, walking around). In that one, I checked an item, the price didn't coincide, and never looked back. Go there for the guide, for the beauty, for the walk in the gardens. That is what I recommend. PS: Do not freak out because of the insane amount of feathers on the grass wherever you go. The birds are fine.

What a beautiful Palace, it’s a must visit, very secluded so you will most likely be one of very few people visiting if you go early in the morning! The garden is lovely for a walk, they have a lake with ducks and swans too, oh what a luxury it is to live like royalty! 😌

We really enjoyed touring Drottningholm Palace. It was a warm day and the gardens are so well maintained as well as beautiful. The palace is spectacular to experience. There are so many rooms and exquisite antiquities everywhere you look. The palace is a permanent residence for the present day royal family. It’s located right on the water and quite the attraction to visit.

Beautiful large castle from the 17th century. The castle serves as the private residence of the Swedish royal couple, but parts of the castle are open to the public. The castle is surrounded by a large park, which is also accessible to the public, but at the same time there are large parts of the park where you are not allowed to go.

The Nobel Prize Museum in Stockholm showcases the history of the prestigious award and the remarkable achievements of its laureates. Situated at Stortorget Square in Gamla Stan, it offers insights into the significance of the Nobel Prize. Visitors can explore well-preserved houses in various colors around the square and indulge in a fika experience at renowned cafes like Chokladkoppen. The museum is a must-visit for those interested in learning about groundbreaking contributions across different fields.
We saw this while randomly walking and went in. It was crowded, which was unsurprising given the quality of the exhibits. Everything from medals and the story of their winners, to equipment used for winning research. Films to highlight the work, historical and ongoing of peace prize winners. The shop was small and cramped, but not at all overpriced and with enthusiastic, helpful staff. Highly recommended.

Incredible museum to go through. It was very interesting to see the artifacts from the different people who have received the award. There is a small cafe as well and the staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. There is an accessible entrance in the back of the building you can use a doorbell to get in.

The Nobel Prize Museum is absolutely fascinating and incredibly informative. It offers a captivating journey through the history of the Nobel Prize and the remarkable achievements of its laureates. The Nobel Prize Museum is a must-visit when in Stockholm. The history is incredibly fascinating. The museum is rather small, you can do this in about 45mins unless you meticulously read and watch every single one offer which would probably take you 1hr 30mins. It was great to learn more about the incredible people who have helped humanity understand our universe and made the world a better place 🌍

Visiting the Nobel Museum in Stockholm was truly one of the highlights of my trip. From the moment you step inside, you’re immersed in an atmosphere that celebrates curiosity, discovery, and human achievement. The museum manages to strike a perfect balance between history, science, and personal stories, making it just as engaging for casual visitors as it is for those deeply interested in innovation and culture. The exhibits are beautifully presented—informative without ever feeling overwhelming—and they showcase the incredible diversity of Nobel Prize laureates, spanning peace, literature, science, and economics. I especially enjoyed the interactive displays, which made complex ideas more approachable and allowed me to connect with the human side of groundbreaking discoveries. The storytelling is both inspiring and humbling; it leaves you reflecting not only on the brilliance of the laureates but also on the values of curiosity, peace, and collaboration that the Nobel Prize stands for. The museum staff were friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable, adding even more depth to the experience. On top of that, the location in the heart of Stockholm’s beautiful Old Town makes it easy to combine with a stroll through charming cobblestone streets and cafes. Whether you love science, history, literature, or just want to leave with renewed optimism about humanity’s potential, the Nobel Museum is an absolute must-visit. I left feeling inspired and uplifted—it’s not just a museum, but an experience that celebrates the best of human creativity and vision.

Moderna Museet, located on the small Skeppsholmen island in Stockholm, is a must-visit for art enthusiasts. With no entry fee, the museum showcases an impressive collection of over 140,000 modern and contemporary works. Visitors can explore rotating exhibitions featuring renowned artists such as Duchamp, Matisse, Bourgeois, Picasso, and Dali.
In my humble opinion Moderna Museet is one of five “must visit” places in Swedish capital. This is the place I always have some fine rest and I am finding peace. Great art, lovely exhibitions, fantastic surroundings (the island), as well as a very good souvenir shop. Plus a small coffee. Love the place.

A must in Stockholm. The last time I was there was to see Marakatt-Labba's art works. The collection they displayed was amazing. Since some pieces belong to private collectors it felt so unique. Maybe we will never see some of these items in the future. ML's art on itself is so spectacular, the materials she use and the stories and messages she conveys. All make me feel like giving a huge hug to her and the Sami culture. ❤️🤗

I didn’t enjoy my visit to Moderna Museet in Stockholm. Some art, like the Andy Warhol pieces, was not open until after 1 pm, so don’t bother coming earlier. The map was confusing, and we got lost trying to find our way. Most of the signs and information were only in Swedish, which made it hard to understand. There were also fewer international artists than I expected. When I asked staff for help, they were rude and not friendly. Overall, the visit was disappointing and I wouldn’t recommend it. Watch, if the staff does it give a management reply, they are not paying attention in ways to make their museum better.

Gröna Lund is a seasonal amusement park in Sweden, offering a variety of roller coasters, thrill rides, and competitive games. It also hosts live concerts for entertainment. Located on Djurgården island, it is part of a larger area that includes the Vasa Museum and Skansen open-air living history museum.
A beautiful amusement park that’s definitely worth spending a full day at. There’s a wide range of rides and attractions, making it a fun destination for families. However, the options for children under 4 years old are quite limited, so keep that in mind if you’re visiting with toddlers. Overall, it’s a great experience with lively energy, scenic views, and a variety of entertainment for all ages.

A really fun amusement park, family friendly and very enjoyable. Book tickets in advance, this will help to avoid seasonal times. You also need 4+ hours to have lots of fun as the queue for rides can be quite long. Good for all ages

Gröna Lund is a charming theme park in the middle of Stockholm. It's easily accessible with public transport as there is a tram station right next to it, but you can also just walk here from the Train Station. There is definitely a fine ride lineup, with two pretty strong coasters in Monster and Twister. The park really delivers in the flat ride department though, especially with 3 very different drop towers. Those and the Star Flyer will give you an amazing view of the City. One thing I have to address unfortunately is the state of the park and the operations on the day of our visit. There are two rides here that are SBNO and will very likely never operate again. The Reverchon Superbob "Rock Jet" and the Schwarzkopf Steel Coaster "Jetline". They haven't been operating for a while and should really be removed. Especially Jetline is so well visible from eveywhere in the Park, and it really makes you want to ride it. The operations on the attractions that were open were fine, but Bläckfisken was closed for the first half of the day. I was told it wouldn't open at all during the day but the park luckily managed to get it running later in the day. Insane was closed until the afternoon, and was then operating for about 10 Minutes. After that everyone that was queueing was told to leave the line and it never reopened that day. I have to give a special shoutout to the crew of Twister on the evening of 16/08/2025. They were hyping the riders up quite a lot and let us ride multiple times in a row, giving us an experience reminiscent of ERT. Those last few rides were a lot of fun, thank you!
Gerhard — Google review
The attractions in this park have the best view of any park I've ever been, if you're not afraid of heights! It was a great experience for our trip, specially since is basically in the middle of the city. The rides are fun and there's plenty to do for an relatively small amusement park. Food and treats prices are quite fair, which isn't usually the case for parks.
Lucas B — Google review
The rides are great as always and overall Gröna Lund has a really well thought out design and decoration for Halloween with extra haunted houses and events throughout the day. Was definitely worth the wait to celebrate Halloween here.
Dániel K — Google review
We went for their incredibly popular Halloween event, heavy rain during our visit, but that didn't put off anyone from attending. The park was sold out, with very long wait times for everything. Which surprised me considering the weather.. Atmosphere was electric, with the rain adding to the theme. Scare mazes were good, some great set designs and fantastic actors. Unbelievable the amount of rides and attractions in such a small footprint! Hats off to the design team for making it all work! Overall it's a great amusement park that I will be returning to in the summer.

The National Museum, also known as the Nationalmuseum, is a must-visit attraction in Stockholm. It houses an extensive collection of art and design from the Middle Ages to the present day. With nearly 50,000 exhibits including paintings, drawings, and sculptures, it offers a journey through six centuries of Swedish art history. Although currently undergoing renovation, temporary exhibitions can be viewed at other locations in Stockholm such as the Academy of Art or the House of Culture.
Very well thought out and designed art museum in Stockholm with art spanning from up to 800 or so years ago to present day. The displays are set up in a walking loop, so you can start at the early years until present. There was no wait time in buying an entrance ticket, and the museum is laid out so there's no way you'll get lost. There are audioguides as well for a mood engaging experience. It's worth the time and money if you're in Stockholm and love museums.

The National Museum is simply spectacular and an absolute must-see for anyone visiting Stockholm. The newly renovated building itself is breathtaking—a perfect harmony of tradition and modernity that sets the stage for the treasures inside. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was captivated not only by the art but also by the sense of history and culture that fills every corner of the museum. The collection is vast and wonderfully diverse, spanning centuries of European art and design, with an especially strong focus on Swedish and Nordic works. Paintings, sculptures, applied arts, and design pieces come together in a way that feels both impressive and approachable. What I particularly loved was how thoughtfully the exhibits are arranged: the storytelling flows naturally, making it easy to appreciate masterpieces by world-famous artists alongside lesser-known but equally fascinating works. The museum also does an excellent job of being inclusive and engaging for all types of visitors. I found the interactive installations and detailed descriptions very helpful in deepening my understanding, while still leaving room for personal reflection and wonder. The staff were kind, welcoming, and clearly passionate about the art, which made the experience all the more pleasant. The café and museum shop are also worth mentioning—both beautifully designed and a perfect way to complement the visit. And with its location right by the waterfront, the National Museum offers stunning views of Stockholm, making it a cultural and aesthetic delight inside and out. If you visit Stockholm, don’t miss the chance to step into this treasure house of creativity and history—it’s a place that truly lingers in your memory.

A wonderful museum filled with different types of artwork. Storkyrkan, also known as the Great Church, is a historic Brick Gothic cathedral in Stockholm. It houses artifacts and features an iconic statue of St. George. The cathedral is the oldest church in Stockholm, dating back to 1279 and has undergone expansions over the centuries, resulting in its current late-Gothic character. Located near the Royal castle, it is a popular stop for sightseeing tours such as 'Under the Bridges of Stockholm,' which departs from Stromkajen.
Having seen the statue of George and the Dragon in stone on the street during a city tour, seeing the original in wood was a must see, it does not disappoint. The inside is full of fantastic carvings including some Lutheran angels (you’ll have to do the audio tour or google this).

Beautiful church, chock-a-block with art from across the centuries, floor memorials worn beyond reading, baroque decor, and just general beauty. Interesting, compared to churches in the UK and to the south, the aesthetic impact of (visible) brick construction. Accessible via the Go City card. Worth picking up the little brochure (multiple languages) as a guide. Definitely worth the visit.

Storkyrkan, also known as Stockholm Cathedral, is one of the most impressive historic landmarks in the heart of Gamla Stan. Blending Gothic and Baroque architecture, the cathedral offers a truly captivating atmosphere both historically and artistically. As you step inside, you’re greeted by soaring ceilings, beautiful wooden details, and magnificent pillars. One of its most famous highlights is the statue of Saint George and the Dragon, which showcases incredible craftsmanship and intricate details. The cathedral’s stained-glass windows fill the interior with soft, colorful light, creating a serene and peaceful ambiance. Dating back to the 13th century, Storkyrkan has hosted numerous important events over the centuries, including royal weddings and religious ceremonies. For anyone interested in Swedish royal history, it offers fascinating insights. A visit to Gamla Stan wouldn’t be complete without stopping here. The entrance fee is reasonable, photography is allowed inside, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Whether you’re a lover of history, architecture, or art, Storkyrkan is one of the best places to experience the soul of Stockholm. Highly recommended.

Junibacken is a delightful park dedicated to the world of young children's literature, particularly focusing on the works of renowned Swedish author Astrid Lindgren. While Pippi Longstocking takes center stage, visitors will also encounter other beloved characters from children's books. The museum offers an interactive experience, featuring a theater, a playhouse, and the highlight attraction - the Story Train that takes kids on an enchanting journey through Lindgren's imaginative world.
Parents of young children, this must-visit destination is a magical and fun-filled place with play activities, a sensory room, and a musical theater. The story train is a must-see, but you might want to skip it if you’re afraid of dark places or heights. We spent an entire day here. Small place with a lot of tales of Astrid Lindgren. The fairy tale train was nice but the place seems to be more focused on sales of souvenirs, food, drinks which occupied most of the area. There could be more areas related to Astrid Lindgren which was a little limited.

Wonderful experience. I went alone as an adult on my trip to Sweeden, and I enjoy a lot with the decoration, and I love the attraction where you make a tour between all the tales. I'm also an author and illustrator, so I was so inspired to create fantasy!
Elisabet A — Google review
We were here when the child was 10 years old. I think if the child were older, it would be difficult for them here – many of the attractions would be too small, they simply wouldn’t fit. But we had a great time visiting this place. A special favorite was the Story Train, which won’t leave even an adult indifferent.

The place to visit with kids & family in Stockholm. A very well adventure of Pipi‘s World and some other stories can be seen in Junibacken. Places to play and see theater play (in Swedish). There is also a story train ride that is really nicely done in many languages that you define at the beginning. The restaurant prices are fair. You should book in advance also the theater play separately (a bit complicated online) otherwise you won’t be able to see the Pipi show.
Simon C — Google review
Not worth it! Too crowded, too little to do, too expensive. If you are a family of 4 (2 grownups and 2 kids), I think there are better ways to spend both the time and money in Stockholm. The building looks large but most of the space is taken by the “fairy tale train”, which is cool but it lasts about 5 minutes and gives summaries for Astrid Lindgren’s stories (not very novel). The queue to get to the train was about 20 minutes. When we thought of having another ride as there was no queue at the end of the day, it turned out we had to pay 20kr extra per person. Which is honestly quite petty given that we paid over 200kr per person in entrance fees for a 5 minute experience. There is also a possibility to attend a theater performances. It’s 20 minutes long and you need to prebook the tickets. We arrived at ca 13:45, there were no tickets left by then (which made it extra annoying that it was required to pay for the fairy tale ride). Apart from these two activities, there are 3 playrooms nicely decorated around the themes from different stories such as Pippi Longstrump, Lasse Maja, Petsson and Findus etc. There’s also an activity room to build with PlusPlus. And there’s a Moomin playground outside, with fun figures but without any swings and only 2 slides (one of which is a meter long and dangerously rusty). We arrived at around 14:00 and were quite done with the place by 17:00. It would have even been enough to be there less. Upon arrival it was really crowded, and too warm. By 15:30 it was quite empty. In general felt like a rip off for what we got. Kids thought it was cool with the decorations. We as parents were quite miserable and disappointed.
Iryna V — Google review
What a wonderful experience for the kids! The play areas were fun and the train was something next level. It was fantastic. Be aware the stories turn a little dark but we were okay with that. The kids loved it!

Lovely place to dive into the Swedish children stories. Our kids from 10, 7 and 4 enjoyed it. Enough installations to physically get engaged. Plan 1-2hr for you visit.

History Museums
The Nordic Museum, located in Stockholm, offers a captivating journey through the ethnographical and cultural history of Scandinavia over the past 500 years. Housed in an impressive 19th-century castle-like building, the museum showcases a diverse collection of artifacts including historical clothing, textiles, jewelry, furniture, household items, and tools. Visitors can explore exhibits on native traditions, home decor trends, fashion styles as well as festivals and events.
Wow— this museum was one of the best museums I’ve been to in such a long time! It was so informative and taught the visitors about Nordic history in a story telling fashion. I loved this museum so much. Nordic history was totally new to me, so I’m glad I made the trip! If you make it to Stockholm, make sure to add this to your list.
Michaela W — Google review
The Nordic Museum was a fantastic experience and definitely worth a visit while in Stockholm. It offers a deep and well-curated look into Nordic life, traditions, and social evolution from the 1500s to modern times. The exhibitions cover a wide range of topics—everything from clothing and design to domestic life, customs, and societal roles throughout the centuries. One of the highlights was seeing how everyday life evolved over the centuries, including changing fashion trends, rural vs. urban lifestyles, and even how homes were furnished in different eras. The recreated 1940s flat and the children’s playhouse offered a unique glimpse into family life at that time. The reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the rather unwelcoming attitude of the front desk lady. For someone in such a central and public-facing position, a smile and a friendly greeting go a long way—especially in a museum that attracts visitors from around the world. It set a poor tone at the beginning of the visit, which is unfortunate given how strong the rest of the experience was. Overall, I highly recommend the Nordic Museum to anyone interested in understanding Sweden’s rich cultural and historical landscape. It’s informative, immersive, and a great way to spend a few hours in Stockholm.
Eldien M — Google review
The museum is very well maintained and offers several different sections inside. Both the interior and exterior are stunning, perfectly reflecting Nordic style and atmosphere. Some exhibitions were truly engaging and strongly connected to Nordic traditions. However, I didn’t really understand the choice of including the ‘Britain’ exhibition, which felt a bit out of place.
Matilde F — Google review
Visiting the Nordiska Museet in Stockholm was an unforgettable experience. The building itself is a masterpiece – a grand, castle-like structure surrounded by beautiful greenery that immediately sets the tone for what’s inside. The museum offers a fascinating journey through Nordic culture, traditions, and everyday life, with exhibitions that are both informative and beautifully curated. What I loved most was how well the museum combines history with storytelling – it feels immersive and engaging rather than just informational. From traditional clothing and design to folk art and seasonal celebrations, every display reflects the rich heritage of the Nordic people. The atmosphere is peaceful, and the location on Djurgården makes it perfect for combining a museum visit with a relaxing walk through the park. Staff were welcoming, and everything was well organized, making it easy to navigate. If you’re in Stockholm and want to understand the heart of Nordic culture while also enjoying one of the city’s most impressive buildings, this museum is a must-visit.

Visiting this Nordic museum is a delightful experience, offering the opportunity to learn about various aspects of the Nordics. With four floors to explore, it promises a comprehensive journey. While the admission fee may be a bit steep, it is certainly worthwhile for those eager to delve into Nordic culture and history.

Really cool museum that gives an overall, high-level introduction to Scandinavia through the ages and different seasons. You learn a lot about people and the countries, while also seeing objects from the different time periods. The audio guide was cool & the app easy to install, so bring headphones. There were also multimedia displays to understand and learn more. The additional exhibits were cool, especially the one on exploring the arctic. There is a large souvenir stores with high-quality, locally-made products. The restaurant is great as well, you can have a variety of snacks and also a complete dish. We found a couple of vegan options as well.
Jennifer C — Google review
The Nordic Museum is in a beautiful museum located near a few other museums. Inside there are a few different exhibits - I enjoyed the one about the life of the Nordic people the most. There was also an exhibit about the arctic and about photos of Nordic people. The arctic exhibit was interesting although the photo exhibit was less so. The museum has a really nice coat room with lockers and nice bathrooms which is needed in the winter to store your coat.

Kungsträdgården is a central park in the city that offers a variety of activities throughout the year. In winter, it becomes an ice rink and hosts concerts and events. The area also features art galleries, restaurants, and cafes for visitors to enjoy. Additionally, the park is conveniently located near shopping areas such as NK and Ahlens shopping mall.
Fantastic park with a pleasant view , green all around and covered with beautiful flowers. When I visited the atmosphere was awesome and pleasant. Must visit the park in Stockholm and sit and enjoy the beautiful place. Usually not so crowded and peaceful place.

There’s always some kind of event happening here in every season. In spring, you can see the most beautiful cherry blossoms in the city. In summer, you can sit back and relax by the fountain in the warm weather, and enjoy all the lively summer concerts hosted here. During winter, there’s a short but charming Christmas market and a large ice skating rink where you can skate to your heart’s content.

Kunstradgarden, meaning Royal Gardens, is a big park in the very center. Once, there was also a Royal Palace here, which burned down in fire in 17 c, but the gardens remained. In the center is a big fountain and in the northern part nice pond, serving as a skating rink in winter. Several food/drinks kiosks around to cool down on one of many benches around

One of the most iconic and beautiful squares in Stockholm, Kungsträdgården is a place that truly transforms with the seasons with each one bringing something special. From ice skating in winter to the magical cherry blossoms in spring, it’s a visual and cultural treat. In autumn, the park is painted in warm tones of orange and brown, creating a cozy, nostalgic atmosphere. Summer brings cold beers, open-air concerts, and a vibrant crowd, making it a favorite gathering spot for locals and visitors alike. Events are frequent and varied-concerts, festivals, and even Santa’s marathon-so there’s almost always something happening. If you’re visiting beautiful Stockholm, this is an absolute must-see. Whether you come to relax under the trees, enjoy a show, or just people-watch, Kungsträdgården captures the heart of the city year-round.

Immerse yourself in the medieval era at Stockholm Medieval Museum, located near the Royal Palace. The museum is built on an excavation site that uncovered various artifacts from the medieval period. It features original city walls, merchant homes, workshops, and part of Stockholm's original port. Visitors can explore how people lived during that time, including their daily lives, city planning, celebrations, and challenges they faced.
This kind of hidden museum tells the early story of Stockholm, and you can se the remains of the first city wall, which was actually not discovered until the end of the 20th century. In the museum, you can see a lot of exciting displays, and there are things for kids as well. Best of all, the museum is free, and you can store your luggage for free as well. In order to find the entrance, you actually have to walk around the Parliament and then enter from the basement. Visited with my brother and my teenage daughter. They too found it interesting.

I was there couple of years ago, as I can see now it is temporarily closed. Wondering if it means renovation and improvements - would be excited to see more. We had an amazing visit already back then. Free entry, great expositions, miniatures and information presented in an interesting way. Great location, right in the centre of Stockholm. Will be keeping an eye on the opening dates. Would love to come back.

First of all they have a free entry. I visited this museum on a Sunday. There was no wait time. There was a free guided tour at 2 in English. It was great to know the history and I really liked how people of the city came forward and saved the part of history. They have parts of old city wall. They reconstructed the looks of the old city. It was really nice to see all those things along with the old items found from that era.

A great museum that’s also great for kids. A very cool display of historical items incorporated into an actual archaeological site. Recreated medieval structures blend with unearthed walls and relics. Lots of interactive pieces and plenty of space for roaming and exploring. Very educational and great signage.

Stumbled across this museum as we were walking near the park in front of Parliament, and very happy we did! It's free admission, and you probably need about 45mins, which is the perfect size museum for me. Inside you'll find uncovered medieval artifacts of Stockholm from hundreds of years ago, which gives you a good sense of how much life has truly changed. Would definitely recommend a visit!

Museum is free for all and is absolutely fascinating. If you want to understand the cultural heritage of Stockholm and Gamla Stan especially, then this is the place to go definitely. It gives you an in depth understanding of what Stockholm was like during the Medieval period and also a short and brief understanding of what life entailed during that period of time. It also offers a fascinating insight into people's homes in the past and how they lived as well as models of the old town and battles which took place. Definitely worth a visit and expect to spend between 1 to 2 hours in there!

If you're here to learn the history of Stockholm --for free, this is the place! Takes about 45-60 minutes. English text. Free toilets, free lockers. This is a great museum and it's free. We were blown away at the amount of stuff here. When we learned it was free we figured it would be ok and we would be in and out in a few minutes. We spent about 2 hours inside. Incredibly informative about the history of Stockholm and its just an awesome museum. The remnants and preservation of the old wall was mind blowing. Just to be standing next to something that old is humbling. Definitely check this place out. Giftshop has a lot of good stuff as well. This is a must see.

The Royal Swedish Opera, also known as the Kungliga Operan or the Royal Opera House of Stockholm, is a national stage for opera and ballet productions. The 19th-century theater boasts a lavish interior and was ordered by King Gustav III in 1775, completed in 1782, and rebuilt in 1898. It is located at Gustaf Adolfs Square and offers world-class operatic performances.
I was wondering when I would come here again, so I booked and watched the performance here. The inside was narrower than I thought. Therefore, anyone sitting in a side seat at least a little bit would not have seen the stage. I watched the Giselle performance here, and I don't know if you will perform Giselle here again, but I hope you don't sit on the left side if you do. I don't recommend that seat because the main character mainly performs on the left. My neck and shoulders hurt because I sat there. But it is a beautiful space if you look at it as a place! It would be better if you look up the explanation of this building on the Internet as a building with a long history.
웅냥냥 — Google review
A luxurious room, and comfortable seating. There was a ballet apparently, Romeo and Juliet. The orchestra did a great job, the music was very enjoyable. On the stage, well it's best described as a lot of people milling around at the edge of the stage. They walked, ran off, even skipped out of sight and often came back out of breath. I'm not sure what they were doing on the rest of the stage, but I'm sure it must have been ballet. In short, these seats are not fit for sale for a visual performance. Be careful booking here. The bar, cloakroom and toilet facilities are also due for modernisation. They're not sufficient to the numbers of people squeezed in. Something went wrong with the booking as well, we were charged 6 coats overall (2 were needed.) So also be careful what you book in advance, it's not necessary, there's no advantage.

A beautiful place, with wonderful operas and ballets. The programme is not as rich as The Royal Opera and Ballet in London, but the limited ones shown in Sthlm are equally good. So far I have seen Romeo and Juliet. Excellent costumes, excellent ballet. Needless to say I love Prokofiev. Then we have seen Rusalka. I loved how the stage arrangements, the modern meeting Dvořák's wonderful melodies. The performances and especially the chess scene were amazing: the details, the humour, costumes, the choreography. We will continue going there. Turandot is on my list ❤️😇

The Swedish History Museum is a treasure trove of knowledge about Sweden's past, boasting a vast collection of over 10 million artifacts spanning 10,000 years. The museum offers free entry and features an extensive Viking exhibition, showcasing gold and silver treasures as well as medieval art. Visitors can explore the country's history from the Mesolithic period to the present day, with a particular focus on the influential Viking era.
The experience was rich with fascinating details, especially the medieval period and earlier history. The atmosphere and architecture were inspiring, and the way the stories were presented made the journey through time even more engaging. It was both interesting and thought-provoking, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves history and culture.
Nouf A — Google review
The museum has a lot of interesting objects of great historical value, from the prehistoric times until the middle ages. The ones that really impressed me were the small Buddha statue, the mask of Alexander the Great and the reliquary of Saint Elisabeth. The exhibitions on prehistory and the Vikings are very interesting. The exhibition on the history of Sweden could be improved significantly, as all the information is only in Swedish. There are brochures where you can read the information in English, however this is not easy, as there is not enough light to read them and it's also quite cumbersome to pick them up and then back all the time. So basically, the exhibition on the history of Sweden is made for Swedish people and not for foreigners or tourists who want to learn a thing or two about the country where they are. I liked the exhibition on medieval art, however I think the inclusion of the Sápmi exhibition in the same space was a bit disrespectful; the museum could give some more focus on this part of the exhibition, without letting it get lost amid the medieval artifacts. All in all, it's a museum where you will learn a lot of things, but the way in which the objects are assorted is sub-optimal and makes it difficult for visitors (even real histroy lovers like me) to follow everything.

A really amazing museum! There are several permanent exhibitions and some temporary exhibitions. The exhibitions about Vikings and medieval Sweden were very well done and very informative and interactive. Especially informative was the exhibition of the battle outside the Visby city walls in 1361. The temporary exhibition was about nedieval fashion. Took part on a free 30 minute guided tour with a very good guide. The Gold room - exhibition of a excavated gold treasure (over 50 kg of gold found in one place) - was the most interesting part. Twice a day the lights are dimmed and you can roam the dark room with a flashlight - try not to wake up the dragon guarding the gold!

Really nice and spacious museum displaying tons of stuff. You can tell that they’re proud of their history and make the most of it. It’s also very interactive and child-friendly with knowledge games. It can get lengthy if you’re not really into history, because there really is an extreme amount of information to read. However, my mum who's not a history enthusiast just looked at the displayed things and also enjoyed it. The only thing I didn't really like was the fact that most of the information was on papers you had to get from the wall & then carry with you in that part & put it back. I think maybe putting more English translations on the walls would be more convenient.
Amalie V — Google review
Amazing museum to get to know Swedish history starting from pre-historic era till modern days. There are many sections with interactive exhibits, like watching a viking house with a VR or explanation of how to save the money best etc. Viking world and money exhibitions are best I think. The stuff was very friendly. I think it's better to get an audioguide, because the Viking World and Money exhibitions have, but the rest doesn't have proper English descriptions, you'll need the booklets to read every time. Overall, I highly recommend to visit it, definitely worth spending time

Excellent museum of Swedish history. The City Card covered the cost of admission. We took in exhibits on gold archaeological artifacts found in the country; on the Vikings; and on the history of Sweden. We spent 3-4 hours, and could easily have doubled that if our feet could have held up. Exhibits are all very accessible for English speakers (or readers), and provide great multi-media information on the given topics. The museum cafe had a good variety of food and drink. Definitely worth a visit when in Stockholm!

A nice experience. You get a short video about the making of Globen before you enter Skyview. Its informative and good to know and watch. The excursion itself is ok (Unfortunatly I picked a day where it weather was dull). But that aside you do get decent views of Stockholm but giving its out the way of the city, Id say the views are of the subburbs of Stockholm. I used my GoCity pass so can't complain, its worth the experience, but there are better viewing area in the centre of Stockholm.

This is an excellent experience. While not as busy as the London eye, the pods give you a nice vista of Stockholm from the top of Avici Arena. The pods accommodate 12 people and there is ample room to take photos and videos.

Decided to go on a Monday. Perfect. Wasn't busy at all. Only want was the fact it only goes up every 30 minutes and we waited 15 upon arrival. Cool intro video to give history on its construction and amazing views. Would definitely do it again. Hubby is afraid of heights but LOVED it.

The Stockholm Public Library, designed by the renowned architect Gunnar Asplund in 1928, is a vibrant ode to literature and a hotspot for visitors. Its Swedish Grace architectural style has made it popular among Instagrammers. The library's cylindrical central area is surrounded by three cubical wings, with its lending hall shaped as a rotunda.
A magnificent and fascinating circular building that enchants the visitor with the shelves filled with books. The astonishing collection of books surrounds you once you are inside the hall. The library is on three floors. There are spots for reading books or studying. There are printers and copiers if needed. You can also borrow a computer if you want. There is a small cafe next to the main entrance in case you need to eat a sandwich or drink a cup of coffee or tea. Friendly and helpful librarians who help the visitor with various questions. It is easy to become a member and easy to borrow books.

Great place to visit just to see the design or if you want to relax and get some work done. Despite all the tourist, the place is still relatively quiet and there are ample section where you can find a seat and read a book or work on the computer. The circular main hall is stunning. They have stairs for you to go up to each level. They had a room with lots of manga (Japanese comics). I would have spent a few hours there if I had the time.

This library is full of little interesting facts. There is a spot right in the middle on the floor under the dome where your sounds are amplified back at you. There are also little gold foundations where pens used to be cleaned. This place seems like the perfect place work ! It is cosy but spacious, clean and a smart place to get work done. The library is simply gorgeous and a place I could happily spend hours and hours in.

One of the better Libraries of Stockholm. I mean they make it so accessible and easy to loan books and read. I love the system and have been able to save so much money because of it. I wish I could see what the environment is like when not in renovation. But I have heard it is a great place to study or read. I would recommend this or the kings library.

Dear San Franciscan, Beginning of October 2024, I stayed a few more days after completing my Scandic tour. Cool weather around 50F. Thought I need 3 day pass of using the train, but as long as you stay in city center, you don’t really need one. (example: At Six, or IKEA as my point of start), this is a city you can explore by foot. It’s 30 mins walk from City center, visited most of the museums, had lunch in one of the restaurant nearby, Viking Museum, ABBA museum, a walk by the river, passed the Noble st, got about 20K steps in a day. It is a relaxing day. Yes you want to do the cruise tour when you can, and sign up with a guide who can narrate it for you the history of the town and what you see. Breathe those fresh air. I can see me returning back to Stockholm just to visit more museums.

A must-visit for anyone traveling to Stockholm. This island is absolutely beautiful and open to the public for free! The park is extremely lush, green, and expansive with many experiences to choose from, whether you are looking to take a long stroll, stretch out on a blanket, eat a good meal with a scenic view, or learn about Swedish history at Skansen. I highly recommend having coffee or lunch at Rosendals Trädgård - a locally operated farm and dining destination centrally located in the park. There is even an option to take your meal and enjoy it in the beautiful apple orchard.

Strandvägen is a historic and elegant avenue in Stockholm, known for its stunning waterfront views and upscale atmosphere. The boulevard features grand buildings and upscale shops, offering visitors the opportunity to indulge in retail therapy or savor a meal at one of the waterfront restaurants. This storied avenue was completed in 1897 for the Stockholm Worlds Fair and boasts palatial apartment buildings designed in the Revivalist style.
My favourite street or rather promenade in Stockholm, and probably in the whole of Scandinavia. Beautiful buildings, beautiful little harbour just in front of it... I absolutely loved this place.
Jorge B — Google review
One of the most elegant and scenic boulevards in Stockholm. Lined with grand historic buildings and beautiful architecture, it runs along the waterfront and offers stunning views across the water. It’s a lovely place to stroll, especially on a sunny day, with trees, benches, cafes, and even docked boats adding to the charm. This area also feels quite upscale, home to luxury hotels, high end shops, and classy restaurants.

Great pedestrian road in front of the sea. Nice relaxing walking, or running by the boats. Great view for taking photos.

We walked through on the way from central Stockholm to the Vasa Museum. The architecture of the buildings is impressive, and everything is scenic. I felt like the area was a bit car heavy though. It was easy to walk along the dock and there are some cool photo spots. There are more impressive streets in Stockholm, but worth walking through if your destination warrants it.

The street provides a nice setting for a leisurely stroll, and the presence of various restaurants and cafes with a view of the water is certainly a plus. The waterfront view is picturesque, and there's a certain charm to the atmosphere. It's a peaceful and serene location, ideal for a relaxing day out or a romantic evening. While it might not be the most unique or bustling place in the city, it certainly has its own appeal, and you're sure to enjoy your time here.

Östermalms Food Hall, also known as Östermalmshallen, is a historic and opulent food hall dating back to the 1880s. It features antique stalls offering a wide variety of food selections including traditional Swedish delicacies, fresh seafood, colorful produce, local cheeses, flavorful jams, and gourmet deli meats. The market hall has been recognized for its excellence by prestigious magazines and offers numerous restaurants and cafes where visitors can savor authentic Swedish dishes.
Recommend for lunch. What an amazing place. A hall full of artisans of food. Cheeses galore, fresh fruit, vegetables, fish and meats. The stalls are unique and perhaps one could compare to other great food emporiums in European capital cities. The circumference is made up of restaurants with reasonably priced, delicious food. We had lunch here and was one of the better meals of our trip.

Beautiful building. Ny the biggest, but more than enough shops inside, with some delicious food choices. Cheese, caviar, meat, sweets and a lot more options. Great place to fill up a charcuteri board. It also have eating places inside. Didnt try any, thats for another visit.

Östermalms Food Hall (Östermalms Saluhall) I visited this historic food hall as a tourist and found it interesting to explore. Some stalls sell fresh products, while others have small dining areas where you can sit and eat. The place has a nice mix of local food and friendly service. It’s a beautiful and well-kept building with a long history since 1888. Worth a visit if you enjoy food and local culture.
Muh F — Google review
This food hall has a pretty decent variety of restaurants. They have a lot of seafood options. The only downside is that they do not have common area tables/seats, so if you want to eat inside the hall, you can only sit at the tables which are available at each individual restaurant. It does make it a little difficult if you come in a group but different people in your group want to eat different things. We ended up ordering food to go from different restaurants, and then we walked to a nearby park to eat.
Cindy L — Google review
A covered market from the 1880's. All kinds of food sold here, either to make at home or to eat here. Fish, meat, cheese, you name it. Also lovely architechture.
Henri ( — Google review
Located in the heart of the city, this wonderful local marketplace is surrounded by shops that also include restaurants and offer an extraordinary variety of delicatessen and seafood products. I strongly recommend going on an empty stomach and definitely buying some of the local cheeses and sausages.
Hakan T — Google review
The fanciest of all the food halls in Stockholm. You can get the same food as takeaway or eat in (lower priced for takeaway and warm up at home). Each restaurant has its own menu and you order there and sit there. Versus each person getting food where they want and everyone eating in a common area. This can be tricky if both people want different food types. One of us had the Swedish meatballs and it was really good.

Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde is a castle-like palace museum located on Djurgarden island in Stockholm. It was the former residence of Prince Eugen of Sweden and Norway, a prominent landscape painter. The museum houses his collection, including famous works like 'Molnet' and 'Det gamla slottet.' Visitors can explore the picturesque location with beautiful reception rooms displaying early 20th-century Nordic art and temporary exhibitions.
One of the finest minor museums in Stockholm. The whole atmosphere of Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde makes visitors feel welcome. All the beautifully furnished rooms of the museum are decorated with elegant flower bouqets. You feel the unseen presents of the host everywhere
Natasha A — Google review
My friend recommended this place and she was right! I walked from Skansen for 15min to reach there but it's worth the walk. Prince Eugen's house turned into a gallery. The interior decoration was great. In the separate building, showed the temporary gallery, it was Nordic picture book illustrations at that time. I enjoyed that part, too.
Zara K — Google review
Visiting Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde was an absolute highlight of my time in Stockholm. The museum perfectly blends art, history, and nature in a way that feels both inspiring and deeply calming. Housed in the former residence of Prince Eugen, the interiors give a warm, elegant sense of the prince’s life and artistic passion, while the collections showcase a beautiful balance of Swedish and international works. One of the things that makes Waldemarsudde so special is its setting on Djurgården — the gardens are immaculately kept, with sculptures thoughtfully placed among flowers and trees, all overlooking the water. It’s the kind of place where you don’t just view art, you experience it in harmony with nature. I especially loved walking through the park before stepping inside to enjoy the exhibitions. The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable, and the entire atmosphere encouraged slow discovery rather than rushing through. Whether you’re a seasoned art lover or just someone who enjoys beautiful surroundings with cultural depth, Waldemarsudde is a must-visit. It’s not just a museum — it feels like stepping into a piece of living history, infused with creativity and serenity.

Nestled within a serene landscape of towering pines, Skogskyrkogården, or The Woodland Cemetery, is a UNESCO World Heritage site that beautifully marries nature with architecture. Established in the early 20th century by visionary architects Sigurd Lewerentz and Gunnar Asplund, this cemetery spans 250 acres of tranquil grounds designed to evoke contemplation on life and death through Nordic philosophies.
We made our way by suburban train and spent an hour or so wandering this UNESCO Heritage cemetery. It’s very extensive with woodlands & a chapel which is beautiful. It’s a peaceful place.
Ross D — Google review
We came here to see the architecture. The main building as you enter (Woodland Crematorium and chapels) is undergoing renovation and much of the view is blocked by construction equipment (see pictures). You can still go up to Asplund’s grave though. The rest of the grounds and buildings are open as usual. As an active cemetery, the chapels are in regular use so don’t expect to see the interiors. Easily accessible with public transport. The visitor’s center has a small cafe where you can get sandwiches and snacks. They have lists of cakes arranged by allergy so it was easy to find gluten-free and lactose-free treats. The coffee includes a free refill. No dogs in visitor’s center but dogs are allowed in the rest of the cemetery.
Muffin — Google review
I really enjoyed visiting the cemetery. You will get so much more out of the experience if you listen to the audio guide on their website which is also available to download for free on Apple Podcast in case you want it offline. The audio guide gives very interesting historical background and architectural details. No you can’t go inside the chapels but there is a tiny glass opening on each chapel door for a peek inside.
Julia C — Google review
My visit to this cemetery took place in February 2022. My main reason for coming here was to pay respects to Greta Garbo. I had some idea of how big this place was, but upon my arrival, I was amazed amd astounded at how vast this cemetery really was. It is a sprawling oasis of calm and tranquility. It takes about 40 minutes from central Stockholm by train, but I could have sworn it seemed even less than that. From the station you must walk to the cemetery entrance, which is located to the east of the train platform (you can't miss the sign and wall). I spent most of my morning here just keeping the dead company and getting lost in my daydreams and music. It being winter, it wasn't crowded at all and I got to enjoy my surroundings to the fullest. There is some unique architecture to admire in the grounds. The entire area was well maintained although you must be careful walking along some of the paths in winter as some areas were icy. Exercise caution and watch your step. I enjoyed my visit and would love to return again one day. Tread lightly where the dead rest and remember you are on sacred ground.
E.M.H. — Google review
Beautifully landscaped cemetery, with ample opportunity to wander around and marvel at the mix of architecture. They have produced an audio guide that is very useful, plus there’s a visitor centre, although this wasn’t open when I visited. Plenty of information boards are available at the main entrance gate too. Would highly recommend on your visit to Stockholm. Very close to the T-bana too.

The Museum of Spirits, located in 18th-century naval buildings on Djurgarden island in Stockholm, offers a unique exploration of Sweden's complex relationship with alcohol. Through art, scenery, scents, and tastes, visitors are taken on a journey from pain to pleasure. The museum showcases the history of Swedish vodka and features quirky Swedish drinking songs. After the tour, guests can unwind at the on-site bar with a craft beer.
We were so surprised and had such a good time. For one euro, you can learn about prohibition in Europe, smell different alcohols carry your drink around, have a visual experience. Great way to kill a half hour to 45 minutes. Had a couple of drinks at the bar afterwards We had a great time. The bartenders were very nice overall very nice experience.

Waste of time. Not recommended. I thought this would be a exploration into Swedish drinking culture, but it turned out to be nothing more than a tasting gallery with some historical pictures on the wall. The "smells" portion didn't work and there wasn't else to the place. Unless you purchase the tasting option, don't waste time. Don't even stop if walking by on the way to other museums in the area.

Exceptional customer service, great food and relaxing atmosphere. The waiter went above and beyond to explain the menu in detail as well as paying close attention to our dietary requirements. In addition, he provided anecdotes about local delicacies and the type of food Swedish people were accustomed to. I would definitely recommend paying a visit here if you’re around Djurgården.

Such a unique museum! I didn’t know what to expect, but so pleasantly surprised. The smelling portion was super fun. But the best part was the crime history of spirits in Sweden… didn’t realize how long their prohibition was!! So fun and interesting. Worth the stop! Could have skipped the Andy Warhol part…. Nice coffee, but on the mild side with well balanced flavors. The chocolate croissant has great texture and crispy layers. Generally well baked. Only complaint is only one uni-sex toilet which has a long queue all the time.

Great coffee place and really like the cozy atmosphere! Very spacious and they have so many beans to choose from, all categorized in flavours. A very interesting museum which totally explains to you that what you see is not always what it is. A lot of interesting exhibits and interactives which you can experience and take photos or videos. Recommended going there at least 2 person as some exhibits you need at least two person to make a paradox theme photo, in case you're going there alone, which that's what I did, you could always ask the staff there to take the photo with you. Staffs are friendly and helpful there.

I had high expectations for the place based on the advertising I saw before the visit. Some of the illusions, especially the different rooms, were fun. Some were already familiar, some I didn't get at all. Zero Gravity was a disappointment, a spinning padded tube. You should have been an acrobat to get the right effect.

Good fun and well run. Definitely a bit gimicky and very crowded so felt a bit claustrophobic and we had to really tame our kids to prevent them from butting into others’ photos and not run into other people etc. It’s a worth a visit for some fun and really interesting and shareable photos. Just not 5 star or anything particularly local or extraordinary in my opinion.

The interactive installations made for loads of fun photo opportunities And the staff were attentive and super happy to help solo travlers get their awesome shots! Can't recommend it highly enough, fun for the whole family. Its a little tricky to find in the subway, below ground.

Nestled in the picturesque Vasaparken, Sven-Harry Art Museum is a delightful fusion of modern and classical art that beckons to both casual visitors and dedicated art enthusiasts. Established by the passionate Swedish collector Sven-Harry Karlsson, this unique museum showcases an ever-changing array of contemporary artworks alongside a permanent collection housed within a meticulously recreated version of Karlsson's own home.
🎨Second visit to this museum and Alaïa's exhibition, which left a very positive impression along with the knowledgeable employees at the store 🌟

I went to view the exhibit- Master of Couture – Azzedine Alaïa" ... dedicated to the art of haute couture and tailoring. The deliberately minimalist design of the exhibit allowed Alaïa's creations to take center stage, each piece a testament to his genius. We were immediately struck by the sculptural quality of his couture; the way he chiseled and shaped fabric to highlight the body's form. Many of his iconic designs were on display, for the first time in the Nordics! The display clearlt emphasized the clean lines and meticulous details. IIt was a rare and intimate glimpse into the mind of a true master.

I was nearby on the weekend while waiting for the Acne Archive store to open and decided to pop in. There was inventive art through this small museum culminating with an outdoor sculpture garden on the roof. Unless you are a huge art fan, or there is a temporary exhibit you want to see, it’s probably okay to skip this place.

Tantolunden is a bustling park in Stockholm, offering grassy lawns, jogging paths, and a sandy bay beach. It's not just your average park - it also features amenities like bicycle hire, a volleyball field, mini-golf, an open-air theater, and even options for camping and hostel stays. The area was originally designated for growing potatoes in 1915 but has since transformed into a collection of colorful cottages surrounded by beautiful gardens and orchards.
The lark itself is decent imho, but these small cottages with their own cute gardens are soooo cute and pleasant to see. The weather and atmosphere is filled with calmness. I recommend everybody to dedicate some time (20-30 minutes will be enough imho) and to visit this beautiful place. It’s not so far from the city centre - roughly 10 minutes going by bus

Lovely park tucked away in the southwest corner of Södermalm. Thee are lovely small cottages (private) with beautiful gardens scattered throughout the park. Mini golf, swimming, fields, playgrounds. Something for everyone but really nice stroll on a nice day

It is a great place to spend a day with family or friends, with playgrounds, a beach, a swimming area, food trucks, and of course amazing scenery.

Tanto is a very beautiful and sizeable park in the heart of Stockholm. There's a lot to see and do in just the park grounds alone, nevermind the rest of Södermalm. You have your pick of exploring it's beautiful gardens, playing beach volleyball / minigolf / football, diving off the docks to go for a quick swim, and of course, bringing a picnic basket so you can waste the day away with good company. That's barely scratching the surface, though, and it's no wonder the park is a local hotspot during the summer.
Josh ( — Google review

The park quite extensive, accessible from both the highway and the sea. It has some dedicated places for whichever games you want to play, and has some decks you can use while swimming during the summer, or other seasons if you don't mind freezing water. It has very cool bike lanes so you can enjoy biking there and afterwards join the highway or along the beach depending on where you want to go. In autumn the trees are just magnificent. Good photos have been taken here.

Södermalm, an urban island in Stockholm, is a trendy neighborhood with creative retail shops and museums. It's known as the hipster area of the city, featuring fashionable boutiques, vintage stores, barbershops, and great restaurants. The district of SoFo is located on the eastern side of Södermalm and offers a vibrant atmosphere with easy access to public transportation.
It took us a few hours to really explore this historic part of Stockholm with its old houses well preserved and it’s wonderful history. There are great views over the harbour areas and a couple of churches on the way which also have deep histories. We just wondered aimlessly but a fair bit of time is needed to really soak up the atmosphere.

We stayed in a hotel in Norrmalm (North part of Stockholm) with a massive shopping mile, more modern buildings, plenty of bars and restaurants. First we visited the the small but absolutely beautiful old-town island between Norrmalm and Södermalm. So only on 3rd day we came down to Södermalm to climb the rocky hill on north-west side of the island with a beautiful view. Then walk through some of the parks, area with the beautiful garden houses and finally along the waterside on the south side up to Sofia church. Södermalm feels more like the part were people are really living, outside of the touristic/shopping areas. So it feels a bit less clean too, but that's how ot is when people are living there... We came back in the evening to go clubbing in "Under brom" and had an amazing time!
David S — Google review
The Södermalm district covers the island of the same name (formerly called Åsön), which, however, is not fully separated from the peninsula of Södertörn (or the rest of the Swedish mainland), as water to both its north and south does not flow freely but passes through a lock and a man-made waterway. Södermalm is connected to its surrounding areas by a number of bridges. It connects to Gamla stan to the north by Slussen, a grid of road and rail and a lock separating the lake Mälaren from the Baltic Sea, to Långholmen to the northwest by one of the city's larger bridges, Västerbron, to the islet Reimersholme to the west, to Liljeholmen to the southwest by the bridge Liljeholmsbron, to Årsta by Årstabron and Skansbron, to Johanneshov by Johanneshovsbron and Skanstullsbron to the south, and, finally, to Södra Hammarbyhamnen to the east by Danvikstull Bridge. Administratively, Södermalm is part of Stockholm Municipality. It constitutes, together with Gamla stan and some other districts, from 2007 the administrative district Södermalms stadsdelsområde, often translated as Södermalm borough.

Södermalm is one of the most vibrant and bohemian districts of Stockholm. Colorful cafés, small boutiques, vintage shops, and art galleries make every walk feel like a new discovery. You can truly experience the Swedish fika culture here – don’t miss trying a coffee with a cinnamon bun (kanelbulle). The Monteliusvägen walking path offers a stunning panoramic view of the city, especially at sunset. During the day it’s perfect for shopping and café-hopping, while in the evening you can enjoy lively bars and live music venues. A must-visit if you want to experience Stockholm’s local and creative spirit.

The Hallwyl Museum in Stockholm is a unique glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of the city's elite during the late 19th century. The former home of Countess Wilhelmina von Hallwyl and her husband, it showcases their extensive collection of art, artifacts, and personal items.
The museum opened in the center of Stockholm in the last century. The museum has an exhibition of a dozen exhibits showing how the Swedish nobility lived in the Victorian era.

this was a remarkable museum. Nothing has been changed in 1930 what a refreshing place to visit life as it was in 1930 for the rich people in Stockholm thankfully she left everything so we could see how they lived. They also had a special exhibit on doll houses which I love we did the English tour and Frede the tour guide was excellent. I’m glad we waited to have the English tour. We got to see the rooms where the paintings were. It was worth the extra. They have a area where you can have lunch pricey and limited but available a small gift shop and the area where you put your coat and they have a cute little area for children to play like they have their own doll house. Don’t miss it.
Harriet M — Google review
Amazingly preserved house of royalty showcasing several interesting collections, either from the Countess herself or the Museum. English tours were no longer available for the day but every room has a booklet with information. The museum staff are very polite and helpful. It takes quite a bit of time to thoroughly see and read everything this museum has displayed. You will not be able to view a part of the ceramics collection in detail without a tour guide. You can still see it from beyond a safety rope.

The Army Museum in Stockholm, located in central Ostermalm, showcases a rich collection of Swedish military uniforms and weapons spanning from the 16th century to the present day. Visitors can explore the country's history through artifacts from various battles as well as personal items reflecting both wartime and peacetime experiences. The museum offers free audio guides in English for a better understanding of the exhibits.
I was not museum person until I experience here. The presentation of Swedish history kept me interested. We spent 2.5 hours inside reading, inspecting everything without boring. We could continue if it weren't close to closing hours. Also they gave you chance to feel the history physically. There are few items that is allowed to to wear, sit, lift, inspect etc. It was super exciting experience to visit this museum. Also the blonde lady on the entrance is THE best. She was helpful, kind, and quite warm person despite the coldness of Sweden. Thank you!

What better way to learn about the history of a country you're visiting than going to the Military Museum. It's very worthwhile, with not only a lot of artifacts, but interactive displays and plenty of information about the time periods, historical figures, battles, and more. It's not too difficult to find and the entrance price is relatively priced. There are 3 floors of history to explore, and they all lead you in their respective timelines. Normally you start on the 3rd floor and make your way down. Very well set up and displayed, it was a very enjoyable tour of the museum. With history, you can always learn something new. Highly recommend this museum.
Jason S — Google review
Visiting the Army Museum in Stockholm was an outstanding experience that far exceeded my expectations. The museum offers a fascinating and well-structured journey through Sweden’s military history, from the 16th century to modern times, presented in a way that is both informative and highly engaging. What impressed me most was the balance between historical accuracy and accessibility. The exhibitions are thoughtfully curated, with detailed artifacts, interactive displays, and clear explanations in English as well as Swedish. The chronological layout makes it easy to follow Sweden’s military past while also understanding the broader European and global context. Highlights include the extensive collection of uniforms, weapons, and personal belongings that give a very human perspective on war and conflict. The museum does an excellent job of not only showcasing military achievements but also reflecting critically on the impact of war on society and individuals. This creates a balanced, thought-provoking narrative rather than glorifying warfare. The building itself is beautiful, located in the Östermalm district, and the museum is very well-organized and accessible. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and entry is free, which makes it even more impressive considering the quality of the exhibitions. Overall, the Army Museum is a must-visit in Stockholm for anyone interested in history, culture, or simply looking to understand Sweden from a different perspective. It’s both educational and deeply moving, and I would highly recommend it to visitors of all ages.

Great museum. Covers a vast amount of history and I was surprised at the amount of World War 1 and 2 coverage given the stance of Sweden in both wars. Skinnarviksberget, located in Sodermalm, Stockholm, is a popular rocky hilltop destination offering stunning city and sunset views. It's the highest natural point in the city and a well-kept secret among locals. Accessible by taking the tunnelbana to Zinkensdamm and walking for about five minutes, it offers a more local feel compared to other viewpoints in Stockholm.
A wonderful spot to watch the sunset or just enjoy the city view during the day. I recommend bringing something comfortable to sit on if you plan to stay a while and have a snack — seating isn’t the coziest, but the view makes it worth it!

For a desk rat this climb was pretty difficult. My knees were shanking but the view worth the effort. For a person that does a minimum or exercise per week this is very easy. You have 2 options to climb it: the big “stairs” carved in rock at the left or the stairs at the right which continues in a small alley that goes around. I took both, and unfortunately I started with the harder one 😂 but the view is magnificent! I got there at sunset and was really impressed.

Cocktail bar
Bar
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Sweden's capital, ICEBAR Stockholm by ICEHOTEL offers an extraordinary Arctic adventure that you won't want to miss. As the world's first permanent ice bar, established in 2002, it features stunning interiors crafted entirely from 40 tons of pristine ice sourced from the Torne River. Guests are welcomed into a frosty realm where everything—from the walls to the glasses—is made of ice, all while maintaining a brisk temperature of -5 degrees Celsius.
I always wanted to go to an Icebar. I booked slots via a phone call (as their online tool is a bit buggy I felt), and without a hassel our slots were booked. We reached there 15 minutes before, paid for our booking, they handed us a warm coat, and gloves which were sufficient for inside. When we went inside there were some sculptures, the room was quite small, but I loved it. It was quite cozy, and the drinks were amazing. (Cool Archipelago based theme drinks). We danced inside. + Definitely one time visit + Great drinks + Pre booking via phone - Small place for the price. Overall I loved it, and saw people in there had fun too.

I visted as I had entry with the Go City Stockholm pass. It was a nice experience, a little crowded, but can't complain as it was free. You get a free drink, served in an Ice glass, drink was decent. I enjoyed, good way to start the evening.
Jay C — Google review
Despite being a unique bar, my experience was very disappointing. The bar is small and cramped; I thought it would be much larger. Furthermore, the staff's welcome was very cold and distant. For over €25, you could get a more substantial drink and the chance to have a souvenir photo. The interior is nothing special. Stockholm has much better bars.
Albert F — Google review
This is an experience, the admission includes one drink, and you have a drink from a glass made out of ice, see few carved sculptures and enjoy -5 degrees C temperature in the middle of the summer. The poncho and gloves keep you warm enough. You can just walk in, but it is easy to make a reservation. We didn’t stay for dinner.

The inside is a little smaller than i thought it would be but definitely worth the visit!! Such cool sculptures. The guy at the front desk was very kind too. I got the Gustavsberg drink, very tasty. I would definitely come back again!
Brittany — Google review
Yeah, it's impressive but feels very touristic and I expected it way bigger. Pay an entry fee that includes one drink (ice glass is cool, drink itself was ok), get in for a while and get out. The coats shouldn't be mandatory.

Such a fun and unique experience, especially right after checking into the Radisson Blu Royal Viking next door. Stepping into a room carved entirely from ice — walls, bar, seats, even the glasses — felt like walking into another world. The cocktails were surprisingly good (and extra refreshing served in ice cups), and the staff made the whole process smooth and welcoming. Definitely worth stopping by for a drink, especially if it’s your first time in Stockholm.

Icebar Stockholm is located in the very center of Swedish capital, next door to central station. Entry fee is little bit steep, at around 26 Euros pp, including one drink. We had the Go City Pass in which it is included so payed nothing, otherwise I'd double think if to go. Experience is interesting, nothing more, and after half an hour even gets boring. At the entrance you're given a coat, hat and gloves as temp inside is around -5'C. Drinks are served in ice glasses and are pretty good. First ten min you're overwhelmed by ice sculptures, take many pics,....then you finish your drink and we went out after 30 min. It was nice, but I wouldn't repeat it

National park
Royal Djurgården, located in the heart of Stockholm, is an island park that offers a peaceful escape from the city. Once a hunting ground for the Royal Family, it's now open to the public and features various attractions such as ABBA The Museum, Skansen Open Air Museum, and the Vasa Museum. The park also houses the Royal National City Park with its 10km stretch of wildlife and points of interest.
A huge park with plenty of space for walks. It takes about an hour to walk from the first end to the other, but it’s very nice and calm. If you want to just explore it without having to walk, there’s a bus that goes through the center of it or a boat from Gamla Stan which stops at the end of Djurgården. My favourite place in Stockholm - it’s a must see for everyone!

Lovely, Relaxing Experience at Royal Djurgården Royal Djurgården in Stockholm offers a serene and picturesque escape. The walk along the river is both peaceful and charming, with plenty of wildlife, especially birds, adding to the natural beauty of the area. It's the perfect spot for a leisurely stroll, allowing you to immerse yourself in nature. After our walk, we enjoyed a late brunch at the café, which was a wonderful experience. The café's interior is beautiful, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Overall, it's a fantastic place to unwind and enjoy both nature and a bite to eat

Very nice views, a few statues and sculptures all over the island, always a place to sit down, public toilets were very clean (you have to pay 10 SEK to get in). Also beautiful in winter - be aware the wind coming from the Archipelago can be freezing.

Royal Djurgården isn’t just beautiful—it’s soul-soothing. Strolling along the Djurgårdsbrunn Canal, with the calm water glistening beside me and boats quietly drifting by, I felt like I’d stepped into a living painting. The breeze off the Baltic, the rustling trees near Rosendals Garden, and the stillness around made me pause and just be. I found a quiet bench overlooking the canal, closed my eyes, and for a moment, I wasn’t a visitor—I was home within myself. If you ever go, wander slow. Let the paths lead you to stillness. Let Djurgården speak.

We had a great time taking a stroll in Royal Djurgården on a beatiful summer morning. We called an Uber and got off in the middle of nowhere. Thanks to Google Maps, we quickly found our way to the riverside and walked all the way back to our destination, the Vasa Museum (taking about 30-40 mins). The weather was pleasant and the scenery was picturesque and simply spetacular. A memorable experience.

Royal Djurgården is a stunningly beautiful place that offers an incredible experience for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts. The park is a perfect blend of lush greenery, magnificent trees, and tranquil waterways that provide the perfect backdrop for any photograph. The park offers so many stunning views and unique photo opportunities that I was able to capture some truly breathtaking shots. I highly recommend this park to anyone who is looking for a place to take beautiful photos. From the beautiful scenery to the tranquil atmosphere, this park is a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates nature's beauty.

One just can't miss this beautiful and peaceful garden while in Stockholme. Thre are many trails and pathways to walk around. We loved to sit on grass and enjoy the nature. A lot of people were jogging and cycling. Many years back it used to be hunting ground for royal families, but now it is like heaven in the centre of the city. There are cafes to have some snacks. The other prominent museums like ABBA, Viking, Vasa and amusement park Grona Lund are nearby on this island. Not to be missed...
Balkrishna S — Google review
Superb outdoor experience. To fully explore the gardens / park, make sure you have 4+ hours to walk around. It has great cafe-bars and places to rest and take in the wonderful scenery. 🏞️👍
