Mauritshuis is a government collection in The Hague, Netherlands, featuring hundreds of Dutch paintings including works by renowned artists like Rembrandt and Vermeer.
A bit crowded, but fantastic collection of Dutch painters. The atmosphere and space is just amazing. The gallery is not that huge, I think you can go through in an hour. I highly recommend to download the app before you go.

Visited Mauritshuis, a very well-known museum located in The Hague, near the Binnenhof. The first interesting thing I learned is that Mauritshuis actually means “Maurits’ house”, which is quite fascinating! However, behind the beauty of the building, the story of how its fortune was built is not entirely pleasant. However I won’t spoil it, because you should visit and find out yourself! This museum is also home to the iconic “Girl with a Pearl Earring” by Johannes Vermeer. Fun fact: we might not even be sure it’s an earring, as it doesn’t appear to be hooked! Another remarkable painting is “View of Delft”, also by Vermeer, which holds a special place in my heart since we live nearby and it carries meaningful memories. We even bought a puzzle of that painting, surprisingly affordable for something sold in such a prestigious museum! During our visit, there was also a live Q&A about painting restoration, where they were working on “The Bull” by Paulus Potter. It was fascinating to see how restoration combines art, material and chemical engineering, ethics, and history. For instance, The Bull was taken during the French occupation of the Netherlands, and at some point, a nail scratch was added to the painting. The big question is: do you fix it, restore it, or keep it as part of history? You decide! You can also download the Mauritshuis app and enjoy a free audio guide directly from your phone. I recommend bringing your own headset for the best experience. Overall, a truly great and thought-provoking experience, so I highly recommended!

A small but nice museum with a collection of beautiful paintings. I went there to see the Girl with the Pearl Earring. It was interesting to watch experts clean up one of the paintings. Staff are friendly & helpful, the museum & facilities are clean and the shop has nice souvenirs. You can buy your tickets at the reception as well as leave your coat and bags.
G. S — Google review
On a per square foot basis, this relatively small museum in the Hague might be the very best art museum in the world. The number of amazing masterpieces from the Dutch is nothing short of stunning. The ability to get close to them is even more wonderful, although people have to abuse this privilege by trying to vandalize the paintings with desserts and other terrible things. From start to finish, we were absolutely stunned by the quality and intimacy of this place. That someone who doesn’t even love art all that much, I fell in love with it.
David S — Google review
We were iffy about going here but saw it listed as maybe the top attraction in den Haag we ponied up and I enjoyed the very impressive detail of so many paintings from around 1600s then seeing Rubens and Rembrandt I was able to see what made them different and special - luminescence and stuff so that was interesting. To save walking up the steps there is a lift but the trick is the button is on top of the post outside not on the wall so if you’re looking on the wall you’ll never find the button for the lift.
Ultimobile — Google review
The Mauritshuis is a beautifully curated museum with an exceptional collection, including several world-famous paintings like Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring and Rembrandt’s The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp. The galleries are intimate and thoughtfully arranged, which makes it easy to appreciate each masterpiece up close. However, the museum is quite small, and the ticket price feels a bit high for the amount of time you can comfortably spend inside. Even so, the quality of the artwork and the elegance of the building make it a memorable and worthwhile visit.
T H — Google review
We spent a Saturday evening here, 2hours before closing! It was the perfect amount of time we needed for our weekend in The Hague! What a showstopper museum!! Gorgeous building, and the art is just marvellous 🤩 The girl with the pearl earring was just the icing on the cake! The display of the restoration of one of the pieces was very enjoyable! Thank you 🙏🏾 Highly recommended!

Loved this gallery in elegant former residential home. Came to The Hague to see The Goldfinch, he didn't disappoint! Also The Girl With The Pearl Earring, she was very beautiful. View of Delft was breathtaking. Obviously my phone photos do not do them justice.

The Peace Palace, located in The Hague, Netherlands, is a stunning Renaissance-style complex that houses judicial courts, gardens, and a library. It serves as the home for the International Court of Justice and the Permanent Court of Arbitration. Built with funding from Andrew Carnegie to promote peace through international law, it officially opened in 1913.
Visitor center is free to visit. Lots of information. View of gardens and peace palace. We had booked the inside the palace tour. No photos allowed. Our guide, Leon, was great! The interior is beautiful. Decorated with gifted items from countries - marble from Italy, tiles from Delft/Netherlands, statue from US, tapestries from Japan, etc. Got to see Court of Arbitration and Court of Justice. Highly recommend!
Jeannie B — Google review
Not much to see and the whole palace is quite far from the entrance meaning you won't even get a good photo. The surrounding area with all of the Villas and embassies is much better.
Maciej P — Google review
The Peace Palace is not only a beautiful landmark, but also a global symbol. It represents the hope of peace and the idea of true justice — a place where the world should find fairness and equality.
Mohamed S — Google review
Nice Peace palace. No entry for anyone who doesnt work there, or has one of the few tours inside, booked in advance. -There is a visitor center to the left of the entrance. -There is a "peace flame" monument to the right of the entrance. The monument has a stone from every country in the world and a live flame.
Adam C — Google review
Free admission with a free audio guide on your phone (recommend to bring your own earphones if you prefer not to use theirs). Very informative from origin to different case studies. However, there was no guided tour and we were confined to a rather small exhibition area.
Jennifer Y — Google review
The palace is beautiful, and of importance, worth a quick view. You can only see the building from the outside. There are for now only a few possibilities to enter the building, only a couple of times a year, with a tour. Book in advance. But: at of this moment no tour has been scheduled. The Visitors Center, although the people are friendly and helpful, is not worth a visit. You will not find any interesting pieces of history. And the visiting takes only 2 minutes. In my opinion it could have been so much more interesting. P.s. There are toilets inside, to enter the toilets, you need a 50 cents coin.
Hans D — Google review
Truly very peaceful place The Peace Palace, Hague. The court structure is humongous and picturesque along with vast green lush beautiful garden. Also there are two significant structures; first The Peace tree where people tie peace notes which is an amazing feeling to be able to notice add your own peace note and feel part of world peace and Second a peace memorial fire which has one stone from each country put around it. This is one of a kind experience to be here.

Madurodam is an interactive park featuring miniature models of Dutch buildings, landmarks, and daily life. The park showcases famous attractions such as the Binnenhof/Parliament, Peace Palace, and Noordeinde Palace in a 1:25 scale setting. Visitors can explore replicas of windmills, markets, museums, and even witness a harbor fire being extinguished. With pathways and tram tracks creating a sprawling village atmosphere, Madurodam offers an immersive experience for all ages.
We recently visited Madurodam in The Hague, and our entire family had a fantastic time! It was perfect outing for both the adults and kids. This park is more than just miniature models; it's a interactive and educational experience. Our child loved being able to push buttons, make things move, and participate in the various activities throughout the park. It was a brilliant way to see the Netherlands' history and landmarks come to life in a way that engages younger visitors. For the adults, we appreciated the clever use of technology to make the exhibits feel dynamic. It offers a wonderful, bite-sized overview of the country's highlights. If you're looking for an outing that keeps everyone entertained and teaches them something new, Madurodam is a must-see.

I absolutely loved this place. The simulations were so amazing. I lo ed the historic stories told and the entire set up, is genius. A great place for kids but for adults alike. Its so interesting and there is so much to see, time will pass by and you would have spent almost an entire day. The best time to go is from when they open at 10.

It's a fun place to see the highly detailed miniature Dutch, Amsterdam - cityscapes, buildings, architecture, churches, airports, wind farms, wind mills, Canal systems, functional railway track and different trains running around, traffic vehicles moving on the road, ships, boats moving in the water... It was a fun time.. different big bridges recreated where it feels like a small overpass that you walk on, it's a fun get away

Whatta love place to have meal after a fantastic exploration of the Holland miniature park! I highly recommend this tourist spot in the Netherland, The gardens are beautiful well maintained and well worth it a must to see. Brilliant place I was enjoying every single moment there. Toilets are clean. Staffs are lovely and friendly.

Great experience for adults and kids. Plenty of interactive setups to keep the kids engaged and interested, while admiring the great miniature cities. There are also other experiences scattered within the park. Good - clean - interactive and engaging activities - park for kids and adults - impressive miniature landmarks - facilities (toilets, restaurants, playgrounds)

Madurodam was my favorite experience during my entire trip to the Netherlands. I loved exploring the miniature versions of Dutch cities and landmarks. It felt like traveling through the whole country in just a few hours. My favorite parts were steering the ships through the canals, controlling the helicopter, and interacting with the fun exhibits like attracting the fishes. The park is very well designed, with so many details that bring Dutch history, architecture, and culture to life. It’s both educational and entertaining, making it a great place for families, couples, or solo travelers. I would recommend it as one of the first stops for tourists visiting the Netherlands. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Parking was a little pricey, but that might just be my perspective as a visitor from abroad. Overall, I would definitely like to return and see it again.

Loved it, what a wonderful piece of art, that Is amazing, every zone has its own beauty, moreover nothing is less but plane ✈️ experience inside it is out standing, a must go place to bring you child here. There is also a shall canteen to have some light snacks and a souvenir shop is also there to bring some gifts. Overall a wonderful experience, but remember you must spare enough time to go there because it needs almost half day to complete it properly if you are a detail lover.
ABHISHEK J — Google review
highly recommend a visit, there are several machines you can pay to get miniatures out, we got a tulip pin bash and there is a mini mars bar factory that gives you 2 mini mars bars, they take cash and card. we would definitely visit again, came as part of a bus tour and got 1.5hrs and unfortunately wasn’t long enough to see everything in detail, would definitely visit again

Panorama Mesdag is an art museum showcasing the impressive panoramic beach painting by 19th-century artist Hendrik Mesdag. The circular painting offers a naturalistic depiction of the beach at Scheveningen as it appeared in 1881, skillfully capturing lighting and perspective. Visitors can appreciate the work from a central viewing platform. Additionally, nearby at the Mesdag Collection, more of Mesdag's land- and seascapes are on display, providing further insight into his artistic prowess.
It's a surreal experience to see a life-like panoramic painting from the view point (hut) supposedly on a sanddune in a beach overlooking beach and sea on one side and old Den Haag city on the other side. From the viewpoint, the cealing of the painting is not visible at the top and the bottom of the painting smoothly transitions and merges into the beach sanddune setting around the viewing spot... So we don't see where the painting actually stops and the actual sand begins... unless we squint. And the natural lighting makes it all the more realistic, and the painting is at optimal distance that we barely feel any parallax, at the same time we don't see any brush strokes, making it very much real.
Gautham V — Google review
The 360 painting mixed with real objects give you such a surreal experience. Spend your time to take a look at the painting. The details on the painting is amazing. We are looking it wasn't busy so we get to really see the whole thing. Personally I do think its worth the 16 just to see this painting. Don't forget there are also other exhibition on ground floor. The place is not big though.
Yiqiang X — Google review
Panorama Mesdag is the largest painting in the Netherlands. The museum's collection includes the works of Mr. and Mrs. Mesdag, both painters. One hall is allocated to temporary exhibitions. The panorama is beautiful and realistic, you feel like you actually live in the 19th century. Definitely recommended.
Banu D — Google review
This is a really interesting art museum. The Panorama painting is vast and the setup where the viewer is in a kind of beach lookout hut which looks out over real sand and beach props which cleverly stretch out to trick the eye into thinking you're shortage actually in the painting for real
Haley — Google review
This one is a must experience. One of the most impressive works of art I've ever seen. Until 14 sept 2025 also an very impressive expo from Scarlett Hooft Graafland. Enjoy🙏🙏🙏

Very nice experience with panorama painting. They also have exhibitions sometimes.
Nirupam B — Google review
This was understated brilliance! There are 3 rooms of paintings by Mesdag and his wife, very good introduction to the artist. Then you head through the dark passage and up the spiral staircase and you gasp at the amazing panorama. It takes you back in time as if you are there. Extraordinary! 🤯

Noordeinde Palace, a historic site dating back to the 16th century, serves as the Dutch king's offices and is not open for public tours.
Oh wow that was amazing, I wanted to visit that place just because it came to my mind to visit a royal palace and I got lucky because then figured out that it was opened just for two weeks in the year. The atmosphere inside is magnificent and I felt soo lucky to be there. There was even audio guides which I did not expect. The only rule that you need to hang it on your neck posed me off😄 because I don’t like to hang something on the neck and feel uncomfortable. Also mind that you can’t take videos and of course touch anything. But photos were amazing, I wanted to match the place as also few (unfortunately) people. Because I am maybe very visual so people on the sneakers and shorts was breaking the feeling that you are somewhere in the classy place and brought you back to relity.

Definitely worth a visit if you have the opportunity, because it's rare to see a palace that is in actual use. Only accessible for a few weeks per year, though, and with limited availability of tickets.
Albert D — Google review
A wonderful experience visiting Palace Noordeinde, the working palace of the Dutch King. It’s a rare treat since the palace is only open to the public for a couple of weeks each year. We loved learning about its rich history and seeing the many beautifully decorated rooms, each with its own official purpose. We bought a combination ticket with the Royal Stables and spent about 3 hours in total exploring both. The audio guide was excellent and really brought the stories to life. Overall, a great afternoon and highly recommended if you get the chance!

Beautiful palace with a lovely architecture. This is the working palace of our king and he opened it to the public during his holidays. A good choice, the palace houses a lot of history. The works of art, various rooms give you a unique glimpse behind the scenes of the Royal House. The Tour is well organised. There are two queues and just in time I could enter. There is a set route and on arrival you can do an audio/video Tour. The audio/video Tour really comes highly recommended. You get a lot of information about the rooms and art. I enjoyed it!
Eduard V — Google review
We were so lucky to find tickets as the palace is open to visitors only for a few days during the summer. The entire experience is beautiful and so special! The audio guide which you'll receive at the entrance free of charge is very informative and easy to use. All the staff members were amazing, always smiling and happy to answer any questions. The palace itself is superb and unique, so worth visiting if you get the opportunity!

"Escher in the Palace" is a permanent exhibition located in the former royal winter palace on Lange Voorhout in The Hague. This grand building now showcases the graphic artworks of M.C. Escher, a renowned Dutch artist known for his precise and bewildering works. The exhibition features a comprehensive collection of Escher's woodcuts, lithographs, and other pieces from various stages of his career, offering insight into his unique blending of different perspectives and mathematical rules with artistic subject matter.
An absolutely fascinating museum! The presentation of Escher’s work is outstanding — each piece is worth your time and your thoughts. Highlights include Metamorphosis III, an extraordinary 7-meter-long masterpiece that flows seamlessly from one image to another, and the mesmerizing Circle Limit series, where Escher’s genius for blending art and mathematics truly shines. The illusions room is a delight, letting you step into the kind of visual paradoxes that made Escher world-famous. A perfect blend of art, geometry, and imagination — not to be missed when in The Hague.
César F — Google review
Amazing artworks told and explained very well. I especially enjoyed the method which documented Escher's life and work - very elegant. The decision to display his works in the palace was well made, the architecture is splendid and wonderous.
Tom T — Google review
If you're into architectural signs, you'll be amazed—it's like stepping into this museum! Truly stunning and beyond your wildest dreams. I spent two hours there, but honestly, it wasn’t enough to take in all the amazing creativity. It’s absolutely fantastic!
莒光號莒光號 — Google review
I personally find the designs inspirational and so different from other art. The intricate carving of wood for the prints is amazing and must have taken so much time and effort to achieve that I find his designs awe-inspiring and beautifully detailed. The museum, housed in the mansion of Queen Emma of the Netherlands is interesting in it's own right and worth seeing, so you get 2 for the price of 1! Definitely worth a visit!
Stephen A — Google review
This place bends your brain in the best way possible. It’s M.C. Escher, so yes, the famous “stairs that go nowhere” are here, along with loads of other works (including some I’d never seen before). Honestly, I half expected to walk out of the museum upside down. The ticket price is refreshingly reasonable (rare in The Hague, where even a coffee can feel like modern art). I’d definitely go again. Tip: go in the morning, there’s so much to see that if you arrive late, your head will be spinning from illusions and from fatigue. Bring curiosity, maybe a coffee, and prepare to wonder if the gift shop exit is actually the entrance.
Teunis S — Google review
Beautiful museum! Extensive collection and enjoyed the interactive parts at the end on the top floor. They have free lockers for your bags, a cafe downstairs, and clean bathrooms.
Barbara D — Google review
All round good exhibit in an historic house. Who doesn't love Escher? If you don't, this isn't for you. If you do you'll find lots of prints and background. Many of the prints are marked "eigen druk" which means "my own print." Would have been nice if they'd cracked a few windows... Lockers are in basement and use fake coins they hand out. Bathroom was decent.
D W — Google review
The museum is located in a former palace. During your visit, you can not only view an exceptional collection of Escher’s works, but also learn more about the royal family and their way of life. The exhibition display is well thought out.

Binnenhof is an iconic landmark in The Hague, housing the Dutch parliament within medieval buildings surrounding a central courtyard. The exquisite Ridderzaal, or Knights Hall, and the First Chamber with its painted medallions of King William II are must-see attractions. This picturesque government complex also includes the Second Chamber, Rolzaal Court House, and Lairessezaal with 17th-century paintings.
Beautiful hsitoric group of buildings where the Dutch government (parliament and senat) is having its official meetings. When we visited in August 2024 some buildings were being renovated and were closed for the public. We really enjoyed walking in the area full of Dutch history.

From the outside, it looks decent, but there’s nothing too exciting about it. It’s a historic place, but at the moment, a lot of the area is under construction, so it doesn’t feel very special. If you’re already nearby, it’s fine for a quick stop and a couple of photos, but I wouldn’t go out of my way just to visit. There are definitely more interesting spots around.

The Binnenhof, formerly known as the Hof van Holland, is a complex of buildings in downtown The Hague that houses the Dutch Parliament and Government. Although Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands, government activities are conducted in The Hague. The Binnenhof is a 15-minute walk from The Hague Central Station. Built in the 13th century, this Gothic-style castle originally served as the residence of Dutch royalty and became a political center in 1584. It is among the top 100 Dutch heritage sites. The Binnenhof is one of the oldest Parliament buildings in the world still in use...

Beautiful Parliament office that sits next to the Hofvijver lake, which is also lovely with the fountains flowing, ducks, swimming, and great weather. Definitely one of the sights to see when in the area. The area on the other side is under construction and we could not see a way in to check if tours or anything were available still.

The Binnenhof, meaning "inner court," was built in the 13th century as a hunting lodge for the Counts of Holland and later developed into the country’s political heart. At its center stands the Ridderzaal (Hall of Knights), where the King delivers his annual speech on Prinsjesdag (the opening of Parliament). The complex is arranged around a central courtyard with additional small squares at the rear, housing the Dutch Houses of Parliament, the Prime Minister’s office, and key government institutions. Still in use as one of the world’s oldest parliamentary buildings, the Binnenhof has been undergoing major renovations since 2021, expected to finish by 2028 or 2030.

The Louwman Museum, located in The Hague, Netherlands, is home to an impressive private collection of over 250 antique and classic cars, motorcycles, and other automotive artifacts. Founded by Evert Louwman, the museum showcases vehicles dating back to the late 19th century as well as rare exhibits such as early motorcars, racing legends, and innovative prototypes.
We had the best time at the Louwman car museum the other day, and I highly recommend it. Seeing some of the earliest cars ever made was pretty cool. The museum was arranged so well, making it easy to navigate and appreciate each vehicle. There were so many interesting and informative displays that we learned a lot. Overall, it was a really great experience!

Sore feet warning - but there are plenty of places to sit down to rest along the way. We spent three hours here - even my partner who was not interested in cars was quite absorbed - the most pre-1900 cars I’ve seen - the earliest hybrid electric - the earliest electric cars - an amazing variety in history. After that we needed a break but the on-site cafe while looking like Disneyland was disappointing. The Dutch snack plate recommended by the waiter was four deep fried potato croquettes, two deep fried chicken nuggets, maybe four tiny spring rolls of cheese and some potato crisps from a packet - not impressive. I had a white beer which also didn’t taste that good to me.

This museum is a great collection starting from the very beginning of building cars, transitioning horse wagons into motorized vehicles. A beautiful building this collection will blow your mind while you walk from one room into the next and find another treasure. It is possible to see everything in two hours walk, but if you prefer to have a better understanding of all the cars, you can easily fill up a whole day within the museum. There is as well restaurants, which looks very cozy. Overall, the experience is Really great.

Great experience. It is perhaps one of its kind! Really impressive. Some suggestions: the entrance is quite crammed with one person doing everything and no space. Also would be interesting to add how much the vehicles cost at their time and the equivalent for our days. I think it can show us how accessible the cars were for common people. Anyways it was amazing!
Julie C — Google review
Really a very wonderful museum. Thought about going there for years but didn't do it till today because I thought it was expensive, small and focussed on on a few rarity cars. Boy was I wrong! The external images of the museum makes it look ehh, not large. But in reality it is. It also has 3 (!) floors. Most of the collection covers the era between 1890 till the 1960's which I really like. I wish some of the colours on these cars where available today, just marvelous. Also a lot of cars with a special place in history, a Cadillac owned by Elvis Presley, the Austin martin db5 from James Bond Goldfinger. Both cars from the British film Genevieve (which I just watched and loved). Two cars from The godfather and a lot more. Must not forget to mention the cafe which is indoors but designed like let's say a village square. Simple but lovely. Lots of eye candy. In short, don't be deceived by the external shots which make it it feel small. The place is huge and in it's own a really wonderful building, but go there and be amazed!!

Best museum I have ever visited. Cleverly designed path keep your attention, there is a piece of collection that you can relate to in every corner and it's not just cars. You can find old fuel pump, car toys, biycles, everything that is related to transportation. I highly reccomend the Museum.

SnK 7 — Google review
A suprisingly huge car collection everyone should see, and I would especially like to adress petrol heads like me. As far as I understood, this is a museumificated personal collection. Mr. Louwman was busy living my dreams. I admire the way it is presented. Honestly, I wouldn’t expect a personal collection to be so professionally presented. If you try to read each and every information card, then you will definitely need a second day. Since I didn’t have an extra day to spare (but I wish I did), I started skipping readings until I came across a car I am particularly drawn after the second half of the day when I realized I won’t be able to finish if I read all of them. I really wonder how all sort of cars ended up at Mr. Louwman. The cars are so lively that even old cars have trays full of sand to prevent oil spill on the floor and most of the sand in tray is stained, just think of it. My fascination also continued at the restaurant place. It was designed as if you are on the street, sitting at a restaurant or cafe and having what you have ordered whilst gazing into surrounding streets, cars and shops. I have two minor comments, firstly, the audio tour that was implemented through Spotify seems to be a good idea, however not everyone may be a user and more importantly the intensity of content wasn’t able to keep pace with the collection itself. Needs to be developed. Secondly, the shop was a bit weak when I again think of the museum itself. I, as a petrol head, had anticipated to buy at least a tshirt and a book after such a museum, however I was left with bare hands. A final saying about the surroundings, I unexpectedly went 30 minutes earlier than the opening time, so I went for a walk in the park. That is one magnificent walking route that one can’t expect right next to a museum. I even saw a deer running and couldn’t make a photo of it. So you may consider having a walk there and encounter with wild life before or after your museum visit.

The Grote Kerk, also known as the Great Church or Saint James' Church, is a historic Protestant church located in The Hague. Dating back to the 14th century, this former Catholic church features a mix of Gothic and neo-Gothic architecture. It has been expanded over time to accommodate more worshippers and holds valuable works such as an oak pulpit from the 16th century and high-quality frescoes attributed to renowned artists.
Went to the Bierfestival here. Absolutely a must for beer lovers. You will see me again next year.

We visited Grote Kerk on a whim and we're glad we did. No wait times and no issues getting tickets. The church was interesting to see. It was obvious there was a large event the day before as the floor was wet and sticky and there were empty plastic cups. The tower tour was great! Our guide, Rudolph, was very knowledgable and kind. Be ready to walk up (and back down!) 300 narrow steps! Very cool views once you get to the top.

A culturally and historically beautiful venue to attend the Expat trade show last weekend. Very high ceilings and plenty of open spaces that facilitated the booths aswell as seminars. A well organized and timely information to help expats gain valuable insights. I was particularly intrigued by a seminar on tenants rights against landlords in Netherlands. Well worth the Saturday to walk around and meet various service providers - extend networks under one roof

We climbed the church tower with two kids (5 &7) and enjoyed it a lot! It is a separate tour, with 15 spots only. It runs twice a day - book in advance, the ticket includes an excursion. Our guide Theo was very charismatic, wr have learnt a lot about tower history and a weird metal roof it once had (see bw pic):) Great panoram of the Hague! Next year (2024) church celebrates its 600 birthday 🎂 do not miss it!

The Prison Gate Museum in The Hague offers tours that delve into the history of crime and punishment, featuring jailer's quarters, an interrogation room, and judges' chambers. Situated at the division between the Buitenhof and Binnenhof, this museum provides insight into medieval times and showcases the imposing architecture of the former main gateway to the castle for the Counts of Holland.
One of the most interactive museum I’ve ever been in the Netherlands! The museum’s audio guide narrations were really nice and engaging, feels like you’re being brought back in time 👀 They make it into 2 parts, so make sure in the end and to ask the staffs if you have visited all parts of the museum.
Sufya — Google review
I would advice mainly two things: - book in advance because there are time slots, so if you just show up you might not be allowed to enter. - the visit is split in two parts, first part is the history, second part starts where the first part starts. I almost missed this one, because it wasn’t obvious. Just go back to the front desk and they will tell you where to go. First part is more interactive, second part goes deeper into what the prison used to be. Also if you do the second part you’ll end up outside in the yard where there’s a 1812 guillotine (the original one), and also the torture chamber mentioned in the first part.

I highly recommend you going there if you come to The Hague. It’s very interesting in how far back they go. I’ll be attaching some pictures. I want to say they were truly barbaric, but again you have to think of the time. some of the pictures are the tools they used in the dungeon and on one picture you’ll see a little box in the corner and that was their toilet. It is a very fascinating museum.

Such a fun experience! Very educational and interesting—the museum preserves a piece of history that makes its visitors reflect on how far our justice and penal systems have come. The open and light museum really contrasts to how dark and intimidating it must’ve been in the 1500s. Just a really cool spot!

"The Prison Gate was originally an entrance gate to the castle of the Counts of Holland, built in medieval times. For many years after, it served as a prison to the Court of Holland. Nowadays the museum tells the story of crime and punishment across the centuries." The museum is very well preserved. When I visited the prisoner cells, I had the feeling that I travelled back in time. The museum provides valuable information about the judicial processes in history. I did not know that there are special cells for wealthy people, like a hotel room😃 There are even interactive settings, for example, by pushing a button, you can act as a judge and try to decide on a verdict! I really enjoyed my visit.

Such a brilliant place, so much history and the information on the exhibitions was amazing. They give you a booklet when you first go in and it’s a self-guided tour, then you can come back for part 2 where you follow a different route with an audio tour to guide you. I was so impressed, in particular with how close you could get to everything. You really feel like you’re immersed in the history and you can follow a story with the audio tape which helps you feel more engaged. I’d highly recommend, you’ll need around 1hr-1.5hrs for the visit.

The theatre is showing imax film on curved screen (as i uploaded) and the museum changes it sub-themes every couple months: but the main theme remains the same - earth, people, and sustainable feature. Worth the money i’d say

Went to see a really nice movie about fungi and forests. While still impressive, the projection technology seems to be showing its age with rather blurry picture quality and low brightness compared to current day cinema tech. Your eyes do adjust to it if you're used to IMAX theaters. On a 28C day the viewing hall was surprisingly hot with no AC in the hall itself. Luckily we had some hand fans which made it a lot more bearable. The cinema store was cute and the staff while inexperienced were very polite. Had a nice experience, but for 17 euro admission I'd only come back if they improved their tech.

Impressive Experience at Omniversum Den Haag! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Omniversum Den Haag is a must-visit! The dome-style theatre offers a unique and immersive movie-watching experience you won’t find anywhere else. We watched OCEAN, narrated by David Attenborough — a stunning and powerful film. While we had hoped it would fill the entire dome ceiling, it was still an incredible visual journey. The sound and screen quality are top-notch, and the atmosphere really draws you in. Highly recommend for families, tourists, and anyone looking for something special in The Hague!

An unique experience. I didn't realize the dome where you view the movies is in the back of the complex and you have to walk around the entire museum to get to it(see photo). I saw the "Celebration of Pink Floyd’s legendary album Dark side of the Moon." I was expecting a music video or video set to The Dark side of the Moon. However, this was something completely different. This was more like a few artists' take on the album. The songs were remixed and set to very trippy visuals, that is really the only way to describe it. It almost felt like someone had left on the visualizer from an old Microsoft media player at times.

This place is amazing!! I didn't expect it to be this cool. We took a 10am session to see the turtle odyssey and it was beautiful. Smartly only 47 min because my toddler was already at his end. Then I went to the museum because the ticket came together. And oh boy I didn't expect so many interactive and fun things to do! So worth the 17 euros! Other places charge you so much and offer so little. Just some tips: food could have more options and healthier ones. Also some interactive things were not well explained. The session with "men evolution " could have a warning sign. It's quite frightening for a small kid. Other than that had a great time and didn't want to leave!

The exhibition is great! The idea of illustrating "sustainable development" is wonderful! But it's not technically well thought out. Young and older children study the questions, but soon they get tired of "thinking through" them and just run around the room, punching holes in a card slot machine without really understanding the topic. It's a bit sad.... Also we enjoyed the film in the cinema! And the museum is connected to the art gallery by a simple glass corridor! So you can simply walk there without going outside, but you'll need to buy other tickets, of course!

Clingendael is a delightful park that offers something for every season. It features a diverse collection of ancient trees and lovely gardens, including the oldest Japanese Garden in Europe. The well-maintained gardens are particularly enchanting in spring when the rhododendrons are in full bloom, making it an ideal time to bring along a picnic basket and fully immerse yourself in the beauty of the surroundings.

Modern art museum
Kunstmuseum The Hague is a stunning example of 20th-century museum architecture, designed by H. P. Berlage and completed in 1935. It houses an extensive collection of over 150,000 artworks, with a focus on modern art. The museum is renowned for having the world's largest collection of works by Piet Mondrian, as well as pieces by other influential artists like Claude Monet and Vincent van Gogh.
A big public museum in the World Forum neighborhood. It has a beautiful permanent collection by Dutch and international artists. Plus, I had the opportunity to visit two temporary exhibitions. Both exhibitions were very well designed. The museum staff was very kind and helpful. I enjoyed the visit very much. Congratulations to the museum.
Banu D — Google review
It definitely is a one-of-a-kind museum. We enjoyed the visit through and through. The desserts exhibition is sweet and lovely. The modern art floor is novel and mischievous at times. The building itself is distinctively “Mondrian”. The underground floor is particularly good which module I have never experienced earlier in other museums. It is so well designed that it managed to hold the attention of both adults and children from beginning to the end, thus serves the purpose of educating the mass audience some rudimentary knowledge of modern art. I think four hours is needed.
Yulan Z — Google review
What a sight. Worthwhile seeing on its own. Interesting special and regular exhibitions. van Gogh, Monet, Mondrian, Kirchner, Kandinsky, Picasso, Schiele and many more to be seen. But only refering to those exceptional artists does not do justice to so many others.
Igor A — Google review
Absolutely delightful! An absolutely stunning regular collection of paintings: Picasso, Kandinsky, Van Gogh, and Mondrian among others! We discovered Jacoba van Heemskerck! And what a beauty the "Grand Dessert" exhibition is! Incredibly beautiful porcelain! And then we came across the "Titanic" exhibition! Gorgeous dresses from the era of the film of the same name! What fine work, it turns out, was done by Hollywood! And, what's more, the exhibition includes costumes from the era of the actual events of the film!
Irina S — Google review
Amazing place! I habe not noticed how the 4 hours passed by. Mondrian collection is stunning! I have seen works I've never suspected to come from Mondrian. Temporary exhibitions are amazing. The museum was not very crowded. I bought tickets in the museum, there was no queue. I have not made it to see everything in 4 hours and I will definitely come back 🥰

The museum is one of Europe’s leading museums for modern art and design. Founded in 1866 and renamed in 2019, it is housed in a striking building designed by H.P. Berlage and completed in 1935. Its collection of more than 165,000 works spans painting, decorative arts, fashion, music, prints, ceramics, and silver. The museum is especially famous for holding the world’s largest collection of Piet Mondrian’s works.

World class art museum that’s about 200k square feet. Incredible dessert exhibition while we were there. World’s largest Mondrian collection. Well worth a visit
Steve B — Google review
It was only in October 2023 when I became aware that Piet Mondrian was Dutch and the Kunstmuseum Den Haag holds the largest collection of his work. I requested a friend to bring me to the museum before flying back to Manila. It turned out to be one of the best pre-departure activities I ever had. The museum opened my eyes to the evolution of Mondrian's work, especially from his landscapes to his abstracts. Earthly colour schemes were replaced by the vibrant colours of his later works. The museum is not overwhelming as it is just the right size, which enables the museum goer to admire the collection without hurrying to get to the other areas. It also helps that they have a nice Grand Cafe, which serves light snacks. The cafe is a work of art by itself. Lastly, I was lucky that during my visit they had a special exhibition of Hilma af Klint's The Ten Largest,  a group of works comprising ten 10,76 x 7,87 ft, egg tempera paintings. It was a rare moment for me as the exhibit is being toured in different museums all over the world and is part of the recently concluded exhibition in The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo (March 4 – June 15, 2025). Highly recommended for art lovers and visitors in The Hague. #Museum #TheHague #Netherlands #PietMondrian #Mondrian #WhatToDoInTheHague #DutchMuseum

Royal Delft is a renowned 17th-century earthenware factory that offers guided tours and houses a museum. It is the hub for creating the iconic blue and white patterns on pottery, which are popular throughout the Netherlands. Visitors can witness potters crafting these patterns by hand or using screen printing techniques. The museum showcases some of the oldest examples of Royal Delft pottery and provides insights into its history and Dutch design tradition.
This is a very nice museum to learn the art and history of blue pottery in Netherlands. This takes you back to time when it started and how it evolved. There are variety of master pieces of tiles, pots, decors and many more. There is small factory as well. You can also see the artists live handpainting and explaining the process. If you want to join a workshop then book your ticket in advance. Very nice small museum filled with rich history.
Samia J — Google review
The Royal Delft museum is a really nice place for a short day-time program if you're visiting Delft. There is an exhibition from the techniques used in the process to modern art pieces. The building has a beautiful garden in the middle, which was unfortunately closed. We spent about an hour in the museum. They also have a sizable gift shop, where you can place orders or buy already-made pieces. They currently sell really beautiful christmas ornaments for 20-25€.
Boglárka J — Google review
From its history on how the Dutch people copied the idea of blue pottery from Chinese, the guided tour on how the designs are made on porcelain with charcoal and chemical reaction gives blue colour was interesting. Overall it was short but nice guided tour and fun to learn. The place is worth exploring if you are visiting Delft and interested in blue pottery. There is a nice souvenir shop with lots of varieties if you want to purchase.
Nirav P — Google review
Visited *Royal Delft* as part of a tour group, and it was an incredible experience! The demo showcasing their iconic hand-painted ceramic work was absolutely awesome—mind-boggling to see the skill and precision that goes into each piece. The artistry behind their famous blue-and-white Delftware is truly remarkable. The tour was engaging, and the museum beautifully highlights the history and craftsmanship. A must-visit for anyone near Delft! Highly recommend!
Bala V — Google review
The museum and factory tour really gives you a sense of how much skill and craftsmanship goes into everything they make and gives you a sense for the scale of their history. Well with spending an hour or two doing this and purchasing gifts and souviniers. Dress in layers it's actually not that warm but warm enough that you will not be happy in a sweater!
Enoch R — Google review
If you’re into pottery, tableware, or anything to do with fine china, Royal Delft is an absolute must! The museum has such a rich and fascinating history, and it’s the perfect size to explore without feeling like you’re in a marathon. You’ll learn all about how their iconic Delft pottery is made, and it’s honestly so cool to see it all come to life. Before visiting, I bought both the museum ticket and their high tea package in advance on their website — super easy and totally worth it. The bonus? On our way there (we took the tram from Den Haag), we accidentally stumbled upon the actual spot that inspired Vermeer’s “View of Delft.” There’s even a replica of the painting right there so you can compare it to the real view Vermeer saw back in the day. How amazing is that?? Such a serendipidous find that made our Delft experience even better. 💙 By the time we got to the museum, we were—surprise, surprise—already hungry 😂. We showed up way too early for our high tea reservation, but the staff was so kind and told us to come back in 15 minutes while they set up a table for us. Perfect excuse to “tour” the gift shop! And wow, that gift shop is dangerous for anyone with limited luggage space. They have everything — vases, Christmas ornaments, gorgeous tableware, adorable Miffy collections, and all sorts of Delft blue goodies. I wanted to buy everything. But alas, since this was near the end of our trip (and I still had a week in Amsterdam to go), I had to restrain myself. Next time, though? I’m coming back for the tulip vases. Sooooo pretty. And the Miffy figurines. And the Dutch houses. Ugh, the list goes on! Once I finished my ooh-ing and aah-ing, we headed back to the café for high tea, and our table was ready. The staff was so lovely — they explained every sweet and savory treat on our tiered tray, and the tea selection was solid. The food itself? About a 3 out of 5 if we’re grading just on taste. It’s not like a fancy hotel afternoon tea, but it was perfectly nice. Plus, the atmosphere makes up for it — there’s a beautiful garden where you can sit outside, or cozy indoor seating with big windows looking out. We chose inside (it was too chilly for us desert people ❄️). After tea, we did our self-guided tour through the museum and factory area, where you can actually watch artisans painting and crafting pottery by hand. It’s mesmerizing! I had no idea that Delftware originally took major inspiration from Chinese porcelain — especially the classic blue-and-white style. They even show side-by-side examples of early Dutch copies and the original Chinese pieces, and you can really see how the Dutch designs evolved over time into something uniquely their own. All in all, Royal Delft is 100% worth visiting. The museum is fascinating, the staff is warm and welcoming, and the café is a lovely spot to rest your feet (high tea optional, but fun if you have time). Prices were pretty reasonable too — high tea was €63 (about $73 USD) for two people, and museum tickets were €34 (around $40 USD) for two. Highly recommend — and don’t forget to save some luggage space for those Delft souvenirs! 💙
Critsy Y — Google review
Fantastic museum charting the history of Delft Blue pottery, with the factory a particular highlight. Enjoyed the architectural tiles more than anything else, and obviously a great shop.

The aquarium features thematic areas representing various marine habitats such as coral reefs, the Atlantic Ocean, and the North Sea.
A very interesting aquatic museum. At the entrance, the little ones receive a map and participate in a mysterious treasure hunt while visiting the museum. In a projection room, they can draw and see how their drawings come to life once they have been scanned.

Nestled within the expansive Clingendael estate in The Hague, the Japanese Garden is a serene and captivating oasis that reflects the deep admiration of Baroness van Brienen for Japanese culture. This enchanting garden, which opens for just a few weeks each year to preserve its exquisite nature, showcases a curated collection of rare plants, Buddha statues, stone lanterns, and charming bridges over lotus-filled ponds.
A very small but beautiful Japanese garden. I went on a Wednesday and it wasn’t too crowded. Not worth a long trip on its own, but perfect for a relaxed half-day activity. There is also a nice cafe in the park for a coffee break after

Takes max to max 10 mins to explore this park. Centrally located in amazing Landgoed Clingendael. Park is small and cute, very colourful, and nice to taking pictures, instragramable location 😀 Free to visit, and very well maintained! It's next to a café, can't do picnic inside this garden, but outside there is lot of nice green grass patches... This park might not be suitable for people with mobility issues.

Was here in the end of October. Absolutely loved it. After a rainy but a nice walk in the park I arrived in the Japanise Garden. It's a little garden that is Japanese themed. I explored it in about 20 minutes, but it was lovely. I believe that in warmer weather this place is even more appealing. If you like parks, gardens and nature I recommend you check this place out. By the way the entrance is completely free.

A small garden, really small, set in a beautiful environment. I visited in October, and it was lovely: large variety of trees and plants, fallen leaves, mushrooms, and I even spotted a squirrel (I hadn’t seen one in ages, everyone was surprised!). Definitely worth a visit.

Good and well kept garden with a varierty of Japanese flora. It seemed a bit small for my taste, but you could easily spend some hours there. There is a small place to sit and relax and a few beautiful bridges. They keep adding things to the garden.

Beautiful place even though it’s kinda small. Sadly place, where you are supposed to clean hands in usual temples, was unreachable and probably nobody used it here. If you want nobody on your photos, better arrive early.

The Hague's Historic Museum, also known as the Kunstmuseum Den Haag, is a captivating destination that delves into the rich history of The Hague. Housed in a grand building near Government compounds, it showcases an extensive collection of artifacts, portraits, cityscapes, and temporary exhibitions that bring the city's stories to life.
The Hague's History Museum is in a monumental building near the Government compounds. Centuries ago it was the Association House of the City Guards of The Hague. There was an exposition about Government Power and civil rights struggles against powerabuse in Holland. There was also a fun exhibition on The Hague hairstyles over four centuries. In the attic there were old, beautiful doll's houses. One strongly reminded me of a Vermeer painting I recently had the privilege to see in Amsterdam.

I visited the Haags Historisch Museum on a Sunday afternoon, expecting a quiet and intimate experience. While the museum's location near the Binnenhof and its compact size were definite pluses, the staff's friendliness fell short of my expectations. However, the exhibition ‘Haagse Harry by Marnix Rueb', was wonderful, with a nice art setup that engaged kids. Overall, a nice, small museum with a rich history of The Hague, but room for improvement in terms of staff hospitality.

The Royal House of the Netherlands, located in the Haagse Bos, has a rich history dating back to 1645 when it was initially built as a summer residence. The palace, Huis ten Bosch, is surrounded by a moat and holds historical significance as a mausoleum. While not open to the public, it remains an iconic attraction within the park. Visitors can enjoy strolling through the beautiful park surrounding the palace where Queen Maxima resides.

The palace is only open short periods of time for the public to visit so I took advantage of visiting while I was there. It was nice but I thought there was going to be a lot more to see. It’s basically just the peripheral rooms that surround a grand hall and many rooms are similar.

Huis ten Bosch Castle is located in a large park in the Netherlands. The castle itself is the royal residence, and the grounds are secured by police, so access is not permitted for visitors. Visitors can view the castle and its surroundings from the park. Informative panels provide background information on the castle's history and architectural features. There is no entrance fee, and there is no special parking for visitors. The grounds and park offer various viewpoints onto the building, allowing for an overview of the historical architecture. Overall, the surroundings of Huis ten Bosch Castle allow for a well-structured view of the complex from the outside in a well-maintained setting.

Royal Palace 'Huis ten Bosch' in The Hague is the official private residence of the King of the Netherlands and his family. It was built in 1645 and expanded considerably in 1734. Although the outside of the palace appears quite modest compared to royal palaces in other European monarchies, the interior has lavishly decorated rooms, salons, and halls. A number of the great masters of Dutch arts contributed to it. The Palace is situated in a secluded, private part of the Hague Forest or 'Haagse Bos' in the Dutch language. Being the private family residence of the royal family, the palace is not open to visitors, except at invitation by the king. One can view the exterior from a distance on the northwest side of the Palace, where it has its main entrance. The park next to the royal palace grounds is open to the public, free of charge. If one wants to view a royal palace up close, the 'Noordeinde Palace' in The Hague is a 17th-century royal palace where the king works and receives official guests. This palace is rarely open to visitors of the general public due to its official use.

Opened in 2016, the museum was inaugurated by King William-Alexander and features the renowned Caldic Collection, assembled by businessman and art collector Joop van Caldenborgh. The striking white building houses a rich and surprising collection, including permanent works created specifically for the museum as well as temporary exhibitions.
Had a wonderful day exploring the museum with friends. There was lost of variation and the set up of the rooms is so nice and easy to navigate. It is spacious so even when crowded still does not feel full. The little book you receive at entry gives lots of background on every art piece. Some of the art would place in my house, so interesting and cool. Also enjoyed the pop-up shop and regular shop. The candy special that required a time-slot was very nice, go in line timely, but it goes quite fast. This special part required shoes off. For those that can’t take off their shoes there are shoe covers. Spent around 2,5/3 hours in the museum. Also beautiful landscaping outside.

The staff is friendly and helpful, which made the experience smooth and pleasant. The artworks are all special in their own way, and each room offers something different. A standout for us was the marshmallow house — playful and unexpected, it really stood out as a highlight. There are a few practical things to note. You are not allowed to take even a water bottle inside, so plan accordingly. Also, the toilets are located outside the main building, which means you have to walk a bit to reach them. Overall, a unique and engaging museum experience. We give it 4 out of 5 stars. den

I admit the artworks worth a visit however I have to be honest the experience was not good for a 22 euro. a) In that "sweet Memories"... everyone was asked to take off shoes, understandable though still a bit strange. Maybe I got bad luck in that group someone had unbearable stench filled the whole small candy room. At least for me that was zero sweet but a completely disgusting memories. b) It's normal and common sense not to touch the artwork but arguable the distance. I was struggling from the warning: "keep the distance"... I don't see it's normal for a museum to forbid visitors to look closely for details. Meanwhile to mention there is no clear sign at least for the "large-mini copied chairs". As a well known museum, you are not doing properly in leveraging the communication towards ur visitors between: "don't touch", "keep distance" and "look closely". If u believe signs break the artworks and atmosphere, then u should do it professionally in a different way. Good luck with your visit and hope all of u will have a Sweet Memories there... 😂 For me the disgusting memories + a strange "keep distance" warning made a very unpleasant experience for only 2 stars.

Opened in 2016, the museum stands out with its elegant architecture designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding nature. The Pier SkyView, located at the end of the Scheveningen pier, offers breathtaking views of the ocean and coastline. This giant ferris wheel stands 50 meters above sea level and provides an unforgettable experience with its private gondolas for afternoon tea or a romantic SkyDinner. The sunset views from this vantage point are particularly stunning, making it a perfect spot for couples.
Great view and it feels like a little adventure - when you are up and surrounded by the sea. Ride is approx. for 13-14 minutes. Tickets can be bought on the spot, there is a queue but the wait is not long.

Fabulous bird view. Stunning as the sky was clear blue. Magical. Also. Have a stroll on the boulevard and treat yourself to a lovely dinner on the “strip”. Especially when the evening start and lights illuminate the beautiful beach.

We've done similar attractions that were nicer like the one in Montreal and The Eye in London. Felt more professional. This felt a bit like a carnival ride. Nice enough, love that the pods are air conditioned but they could use a cleaning. Othe people may enjoy this event more than we did. Wasn't awful, wast great. The surrounding area is also a bit jersey shore to me. Just not our thing.
Tam C — Google review
We visited The Pier SkyView and it was such a special experience. The views over the sea and beach were absolutely stunning, and the cozy cabins made the ride extra comfortable. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable moment by the sea!

Opened in 2016, this is Europe’s first Ferris wheel built over the sea, rising about eight meters above the North Sea. With a height of around 45 meters, it offers sweeping views of the coastline and the city skyline. A ride lasts between 12 and 20 minutes, making it a perfect way to take in the scenery. Sunset is an especially romantic time to enjoy the experience.

Best beach and best view from De Pier. Never ever to miss out on this if you are in Den Haag. Best place to chill for music lovers

We enjoyed this, the view was great from the top, I think it was a bit too expensive at €11 per person and there was 4 of us, however we did go round a good few times.

Super cozy beach with fine sand. Def would recommend taking the ferris wheel. Amazing view and they let you ride quite a few rounds. The food inside the pier offers lots of options and quite yummy.

Historical landmark
The Passage, also known as Nieuwe Haagse Passage, is a grand shopping arcade in The Hague that dates back to 1885. This glass-roofed mall is lined with upscale stores, cafes, boutiques, jewellers, galleries and confectionery shops. It was designed along the lines of Paris's Passages Couverts and features an opulent setting with soaring glass domes and floor mosaics.
It’s a mix of high end retail stores. It’s a wide variety that’s fun to explore. Also some diverse food outlets with a combination of sit in and to go.
Loren G — Google review
When we arrived, most shops were closed for the first day of 2025. We still enjoyed the blue dusk draped over the dome gallery, casting a tranquil glow. The contrast of deep blue against the golden-yellow light reminded me of the palette Van Gogh often used in his paintings.

Very nice and clean mall. I just walked through quickly without looking for anything specific, but I still really liked it. The windows at the top looked super cool, and there was this cute pink tree in the middle of the mall that really stood out. Overall, a nice little visit :)

If you’re a fan of architecture, this is definitely a place to visit. Take a moment to dig into the history of the area—there’s more to it than meets the eye. On the first floor, you’ll notice some beautiful old apartments, many of them full of character. Interestingly, a few of these are now empty—not because they lack charm, but because they’re directly connected to the ground-floor shops and don’t have separate entrances. Historically, shop owners lived right above their businesses, but over time, that became unnecessary, and the living spaces were left unused. It’s a fascinating glimpse into how the building’s purpose and function have evolved over the years. Definitely worth a look if you appreciate historical layers in urban design.

Great indoor shopping mall. So when it rains or is cold. You will find an English book shop, art shops, household goods, clothing by th kg and many more. Love the architecture

Located in The Hague, Family park Drievliet is a popular destination for families seeking a day of thrilling rides and delightful attractions. From heart-pounding roller coasters to gentle rides suitable for young children, the park offers a wide range of entertainment options. In addition to the exciting rides, visitors can also enjoy entertaining shows such as the Jungle Show and pirate spectacle at the Parktheater.
A very nice family friendly park with attraction for all ages. As soon as your kid is 100 cm it can try almost all attractions together with a grown-up. Just a very few are from 140 cm on. Great park to visit with children in different ages.
Stephanie H — Google review
Overall, we had an enjoyable day. I visited with my 3-year-old son (under 1 meter tall), and there were enough attractions suitable for his age group. The park is well thought out for small children. A few practical notes: The lockers weren’t working, and the park is quite large. If you’re coming with extra belongings, I recommend bringing something to help you carry them easily, a stroller can be very helpful, even if you think your child won’t need it much. The women’s toilets near the restaurant area were insufficient; it’s better to use the ones in other parts of the park. I suggest arriving early in the morning and starting from the far end of the park, going against the general flow. That way, you’ll avoid long queues at the first attractions.
Ugur — Google review
Drievliet is a fun and well-organized amusement park, especially ideal for families with children. While I personally enjoyed the visit, most of the rides and attractions are clearly designed with younger kids in mind. It’s a great place for a relaxed day out, but adults seeking thrill rides might find the options limited. That said, there are still a few exciting rides for older visitors, like the fast roller coaster Formule X, the wild mouse-style ride Kopermijn, the spinning coaster Twistrix, and the powered coaster Dynamite Express. Additionally, adults can enjoy rides like Nautilus, a swinging and spinning attraction, and Draaikolk, a fast-turning ride. As a whole, it’s a highly recommended destination for families with kids.
Raghavendra M — Google review
Great place to spend a day with the little ones. I really apreciated that most of the atractions were spitale for my 3.5 yo. And the ones for the older children were truely enjoyable. Also I loved the fact that the park is quite compact and don't spend a lot of time walking between the atractions, and thus we managed to enjoy almost all the atractions during one day, some even more times. Another plus was that there were no big ques (we spent maximum 10-15 minutes for the most atractive, although we went in full vacation sezon). All in all, a perfect alternative to biserica and more famous atraction parks in The Netherlands and around.
Alexandra T — Google review
We went as a group of 8 people, including 2 toddlers, and we loved it. The size of the park is just the right size, not too big, not too small. Perfect for families with children (as the name suggests, familypark). There are enough rides for children (in our case, toddlers) to enjoy. We especially appreciated the water play park. The only minus thing is the food, there were not enough choices, and very expensive. So, I would suggest bringing your own food and snacks!
Chantal M — Google review
Overall we had an okay day, but that was only because I am someone who's glass is always half full! Because what happend? . Me and my daughter got stuck in the owl 🦉 ride, our car suddenly started smoking really bad and the machinist truly was not able to handle correct in that moment. I was able to put my daughter (4y) out of the car and let her wait with my oldest.. as soon as I knew they were save, I focused on the women next to me. Who was in a panic attack. With some breath work and guidance, I was able to calm her down. 2) after this, I made the decision to calm down with some food! 3 sodas and 3 sandwishes were €30. Crazy! And it wasn't even good, had to throw away the sandwich with cheese. 3) other malfunctioning attractions were also part of our experience. Which did not make us feel safe. Conclusion, we had fun. But I would not go back, as it is clearly not a safe park to go to. Be careful.

Suppose this last weekends was Halloween 🎃 celebration but they have nothing. Barely banners of Halloween and a 2 things related to Halloween. We came specially to celebrate. But not worth it. The atracciones look old or need manteinace and some paint , for the price I find there are better pret parks. And for Halloween this is not the place.

We went there on Sunday 13/7 10:45 and it was amazing! Not busy at all, jumping in every game almost instantly! There are plenty of games for all tastes, fast and slow, high and low. There are also enough tables to sit and enjoy a lunch from home or from the snack bar over there. In general it’s highly recommended especially if the kids are taller than 130cm.

The restaurant provides an opportunity to bask in the sun on its terrace during summer while enjoying delicious food and drinks. Originally built as a circus venue in 1904, Circustheater has evolved into one of the most renowned theaters in the Netherlands.
The relaxed performance (or prikkelarm in Dutch) was very well organised. I was very pleased that a special event like was organised. The client I was with was totally enthralled by the whole performance. The actors were really great too not letting themselves be distracted by anything happening in the audience. The audience were given some regulations to stick to and this worked generally really well. The ushers were super patient and friendly with everything getting all kinds of things sorted and making sure everything went as smoothly as possible. Kudos and kudos to everyone that made this happen. Also special kudos to those organising the make a wish foundation! Thank you We went a 2nd time and this time to a normal performance. Again kudos to the actors, the orchestra, all the people behind scenes doing hard work, the amazing ushers going the extra mile to help us out with the special walker taking real good care of it. These people this theatre absolutely 100/10 recommend. Shame the show is stopping. Its such a beautiful spectacle

We went here to watch the musical Disney frozen. The environment is very good and the staff is also very kind. There is delicious high tea and coffee during the intermission. The most important thing is that the stage play is very shocking and memorable. It is very close to the beach, and you can go to the beach after watching it. However, the parking fee is too expensive.

The play is 4/5 I guess it could use some improvements. Staff very organized. Entry and exit procedures very neat and smooth. However, i am rating the theater as a facility. The seats are too bad, condition were ok. But type and style i guess belongs to the 80’s. No much space, for someone to slide in a whole row shall stand to let a person pass. Such efforts made by actors should be rewarded with an up to date theater.
F. M — Google review
We saw The Lion King on Broadway at this theatre over the weekend. The production was absolutely amazing. High quality sound with live orchestra and singing. The seats are typically theatre seats, no drink holders. The staff are Professional and friendly. Book your show as far in advance as possible to select your seating preference.

On the second day of Christmas, we went to the musical Aïda. What was the cast GOOD and extremely talented. With each song, I got goosebumps! Circustheather itself was very nicely decorated for Christmas. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They also have an arrangement with a few parking garages in the surrounding area. For a fixed price, you can park the car there up till 8 hours after driving in. Which is perfect for lunch before a show or dinner after a show. The seats were comfortable, and the temperature inside was nice. However, during the break, you have only 15 minutes to go to the toilet and grab something to drink/eat. The lines were long, and not everybody who wanted something got the chance because the break flies by so quickly. In other venues, they have an arrangement where drinks are already on a table for everyone to take one, perhaps they do this on purpose so you will buy their own break arrangement..

This museum largely describes the life of fishermen in the area. The statue on the promenade shows a wife waiting for her husband to return and lower on the promenade is a memorial to all those lost at sea - both at times of war and peace. I enjoyed seeing the jumpers which are reminiscent of Yorkshire fishermen's ganseys. The boat outside is a land yacht - made to go at speed along the beach.

We ate breakfast here with my sister. Food was amazing and as I’m gluten intollerant they took good care to make sure that I have food to eat. Sadly, I forgot to leave a tip but definetely coming back here!

Finally I got the opportunity to visit a fully vegan breakfast & lunch restaurant/cafe: FOAM. I considered breaking my routine but ended up having my usual breakfast in cafes: avocado sandwich. The bread was wholegrain grilled pave with miso cream spread, wonderfully done, couldn't have asked for more for the bread or the spread! Mesclun salad was fresh and crunchy, smoked almonds were just wonderful and about avocado: I have to say that out of all the places I have visited this one had most avocado. I'm very happy about that. There was spices but no vegan mayo (or other sauce) on the sandwich, but honestly it didn't need it because the miso cream was enough. All the tastes worked well together - very well combined. As drink I had chai latte (comes automatically with oat milk) and a berry bomb smoothie (as a dessert) - both very good. There's cute little bottles with lids for sugar on the tables - less waste with no single use packaging sugar (a good environmental friendly example for other cafes too). The berry smoothie was exceptionally soft to the mouth - some leave the mouth with a sore feeling afterwards but I guess the banana in it made it easier to handle. A real treat! Overall I am impressed and happy with this place and fully recommend it especially to fellow vegans! 5/5

This is such a sweet spot! The menu changes throughout the year, the staff is super kind and most importantly the food tastes really good. It’s all vegan and organic and the price quality ratio is good. They have an open kitchen so you can see your goodies being prepared. In summer you can also sit outside in the garden area. I loved the crumble, the granola was really tasty. And also the cowboy cookie fresh from the oven was delicious. Only point of improvement would be the chai latte. I found it more latte than chai, it could’ve been more spicy.

The Museum of Literature, also known as the Children's Book Museum, is an interactive and engaging space designed to foster a love for reading in young children. It offers various language-based activities and reading corners where kids can immerse themselves in the world of iconic characters from children's literature. The museum provides an opportunity for children to explore imaginary worlds and embark on adventures inspired by their favorite stories.
Came here with my 13m old and she LOVED it! It’s rare to have a museum where toddlers can freely walk about, but the entire top floor was suitable for her to do this, and she had such fun wandering from room to room and playing with anything interactive. I’m looking forward to coming here again with her when she’s older and can appreciate the 6y+ floor. The cafe is lovely, friendly staff at reception/gift shop, and the graphics/art work and displays are enchanting.

Easy to get to from Centraal. Had the impression that the museum is targeted at toddlers and smaller kids but decided to visit anyway. The basement is targeted at older kids with many interactive activities that earn them add ons to the character they build. They are decent difficulty levels and there is a little waiting for other kids but nothing inconvenient. Loads of writings and quotes as they work through the various activities. Its a decent amount of activity and reading. We did two hours and were not fully done. Kids got hungry and cafe had run out of sandwiches so we left. This was around 2.45pm. This was a little disappointing. The staff at the cafe are lovely though. You get a card on your way out as a souvenir. There is a gift shop mostly in dutch.

My 11 month old and newly 5 year old had a great time playing together. It’s so nice to find somewhere they can both enjoy! Especially that there are no shoes allowed on the younger children’s floor, so it is ok for little ones to crawl around. It was clean and had plenty of toilets and easily accessible with a stroller.

The Kinderboekenmuseum in Den Haag is a calm, welcoming spot where children can really lose themselves in stories. It’s designed with little ones in mind — cozy reading corners, a storytelling nook, and a range of hands-on, tactile exhibits that invite playful exploration without overwhelming. The layout makes it easy for parents to keep an eye on kids, and the staff are warm and attentive, creating a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere ideal for a slow morning or gentle afternoon outing. They also offer storytelling sessions and workshops that add extra charm. In addition to the book-focused areas, the museum has a dedicated arts-and-crafts room for creative projects and a cafeteria where families can take a break and enjoy a snack or drink. Overall, it’s a soothing, imaginative place that encourages curiosity, reading, and creative play for toddlers through early elementary ages.

We absolutely love the museum. Perfect for our little ones. However the cafe has terrible hygiëne. Tables and floor are not being cleaned while you can see many staffs doing nothing behind the counter. We also saw two mouses running around.... while many customers already saw it, I didn't see any action taken from the staff.....

It is a Really lovely place also for the little ones. However entry is quite expensive considering that each parent has to pay full price. And low score simply on the account that there were 3 mice roaming around in the cafe. Not sanitary at all especially in a place for children

A really great destination for a family trip . The children's book museum is very lovingly designed. Each floor is dedicated to a different age group. For the very little ones, for example it is possible to eat their way through the same fruits as the caterpillar Nimmersatt. Highly recommended!

The Passage, known as De Hagues Arcade in Dutch, is a stunning shopping arcade that dates back to 1885 and stands as the oldest of its kind in the Netherlands. Designed by local dignitaries to emulate the elegance of Parisian arcades, it has been beautifully preserved, allowing visitors to experience its charming ambiance reminiscent of the 1890s.
What a marvellous Gallery, very clean and not so many people 😇

(Translated by Google) It's great that the arcade still exudes the charm of the 1890s. Opened in 1885, it still looks the same as it did 140 years ago. Inside, there are lovely little shops with wonderful old architecture and, thanks to the glass roof, beautiful light. My favorite shop: Oldenhof, with a huge selection of endless kitchen utensils.

De Pier in Den Haag, also known as Scheveningen Pier, is a popular recreational spot with both enclosed and open-air decks. It offers a variety of casual restaurants and thrilling activities like bungee jumping. The pier provides an enjoyable experience for visitors, combining leisurely strolls with attractions and dining options. Situated on the Scheveningen boulevard, it serves as a charming location to relax while enjoying scenic views of the North Sea.
Great pier! It was extremely windy outside. Inside the pier you could hear the wind, but it was cozy and the ocean view is great. There are a lot of food options to choose from, clean facilities and nice atteactions like a ferries wheel, zip line and Bungee jumping (we only came for food). It's nice to be able to choose between the two decks.

Located at Scheveningen Pier is the Netherlands' first Ferris wheel, which hovers over the sea and offers spectacular views of the 11 km long beach and the skyline of The Hague. A ride on the Ferris wheel takes about 20 minutes. The enclosed cabins are air-conditioned. Tickets for the Ferris wheel can be purchased online.

De Pier in The Hague is a vibrant and iconic destination that offers a truly memorable experience on the Dutch coast. The location combines beautiful views of the North Sea, unique attractions like the Ferris wheel over the water, and a lively boardwalk with something for everyone, from foodies to thrill-seekers. The panoramic views from De Pier are simply breathtaking, whether you're enjoying a drink on the terrace, savoring local cuisine at one of the restaurants, or taking a ride on the Ferris wheel. Watching the sunset over the beach from this spot is an unforgettable highlight. De Pier is a must-visit when in The Hague. Whether you're after beautiful ocean views, great food and drinks, or some thrilling activities, you'll leave with wonderful memories and a desire to return.

⭐ De Pier – A must-visit by the sea! Absolutely loved my time at De Pier! 🌊 Beautiful views of the North Sea, cool ocean breeze, and a lively boardwalk full of food, drinks, and fun activities. Whether you’re looking to relax, take amazing photos, or just enjoy a nice walk over the water – this place is perfect. Bonus: there’s even a bungee jump and Ferris wheel for thrill-seekers! 🎡 Great spot to spend an afternoon – highly recommended!

De Pier in Scheveningen offers a fantastic mix of seaside fun and great views. The long pier stretching out over the North Sea provides a unique setting for a stroll, with plenty of food stalls, cafés and the highlight: the Ferris wheel and bungee‑/zip‑line activities. On the practical side: the weather and wind can really impact comfort (bring a jacket!), and some visitors feel parts of the pier are showing their age, especially upstairs and in the facilities. Overall: a lively, photo‑worthy destination that works well for an afternoon out by the sea.
Mudassir A — Google review
De Pier is a beautiful place to walk and enjoy the sea view. The atmosphere is lively, and the ocean breeze makes it even more relaxing. A must-visit spot in The Hague!
Mariam — Google review
Nice 2 level pier. Top level has a few shops, stairs to lower level, and at the end is the bungee jumping and wheel. lower level is shops and seating, lover level is inside. -i walked along the top, then got fish and chips lunch inside.
Adam C — Google review
Beautiful place to walk on / through or by when visiting the beach. > Great view from any place on the Pier with many areas to take a break and sit down. > Many stores and things to look at, to do or food to eat. > Horribly communicated opening and closing times / path ways, being the only downside. Oh and great to stay under if you need shelter from the sun!

The Vermeer Centrum Delft is a small museum located in the heart of Delft, dedicated to showcasing the life and artwork of Johannes Vermeer, a prominent Dutch painter from the Golden Age. Visitors can explore exhibits that provide insight into Vermeer's artistic techniques, influences, and the historical context in which he created his masterpieces. The museum offers audio tours and a light studio experience for an immersive journey through Vermeer's creations.
Small but very good museum. Vermeer’s life and artwork was explained and exhibited in this interactive museum. Lift access to all floors and the museum is accessible to wheelchair users. The information about Delft, the time when Vermeer lived, his associates and influencers were presented using a range of media. Many of the displays were interactive, using your listening device, touch screens and places stop and explore the detail of the paintings. No original art all Vermeer Veneers (pun intended)
Cate C — Google review
Definitely a highlight in my life - one of those things I am glad I did. Vermeer is definitely the master painter of light and I was very impressed. The fact that the paintings are not original does not detract anything from the marvel thereof. I found the fact that one can get a glimpse of all of his works at once, really impressive and insightful. Definitely a must-visit stop whenever you are in Delft.
Elmari K — Google review
We visited on a week day and were able to buy tickets at the museum. Cute little museum that shows copies of all of Vermeer's paintings and highlighting his techniques in mastering light and symbolism. I would say you could see everything in 2 hours
Abigail P — Google review
It's a pity that none of the original paintings are exhibited here. I was surprised to learn how many are in the possession of museums around the world — and it's regrettable that so few remain in the Netherlands. That said, the exhibition offers a solid overview of the artist's work. Even more impressive is the analysis of his technique, which is both insightful and educational. I would especially recommend this place to art students, as it provides a valuable perspective on his creative paint process, i. e. primarily analysis of light effects. The museum shop, however, was a bit of a letdown — quite pricey, with not much of real interest on offer.
Iva * — Google review
Definitely worth stopping by when you are in Delft. Entrance is free and they have an amazing shop with everything Vermeer. 3 stories with exhibitions of all his works (copies) with a little bit of history of Delft.
Oguz K — Google review
Very interesting Museum (€9 student) :-) While the paintings displayed are not original (it would be impossible as they are spread around the world and worth a pretty penny), they are faithful reproductions in size and light. The audioguide then provides all the necessary details to understand more about Vermeer and his technique. Different floors have different themes: from the history and paintings, to the secret messages and meanings and then the modern day variations or restoration precess. So at the end I would definitely recommend this museum :-)
Serena N — Google review
Helpful staff, excellent audio guide. Delft is trying to make the most of its Vermeer connection, which is difficult as his house has been knocked down and none of his paintings remain in the town. This is a really good exhibition to show his life in Delft and the subjects and techniques of his paintings
Lee A — Google review
Very interesting Center, a lot of information on how Vermeer painted and practical explanations on his use of light. The audio guide is for free and available in many languages. They have real size reproductions of all known paintings from Vermeer, which allows you to calmly examine them and learn more about the details and the technique he used. Totally recommended if you’re visiting Delft!

Museum Prinsenhof Delft, once a convent of St. Agatha, holds great historical significance as the former residence of Prince William the Silent, a key figure in the creation of the Dutch Republic. The museum showcases 17th-century arts and crafts alongside exhibits on William's role in the Spanish Revolt. The tragic event that took place here, where William was assassinated by Balthasar Gerard in 1584, is commemorated throughout the museum.
A nice museum. I went to learn about dutch history but also got to see some local art. What really made my visit special was seeing Theo Jansen's Strandbeest out in the yard - I saw it online many times and it was fascinating seeing it up close.
Tal B — Google review
Very informative museum with a ton of masterpieces from the 17th century. They were telling the story of life and death of William the silent the father of dutch nation and great ancestor of the current king. I really liked the complex personality and liberal nature of his actions. The museum has perfectly utilized all mediums available to make a great experience with very detailed explanations on pieces of propaganda and really brilliantly set the context for the story. Do recommend totally worth it 👌.

The museum Prinsenhof is a fun visit mainly for the imprints the events here have left on Dutch History. Its interesting to see a part of history come to life on the famous stairs. The exposition on the uprising are interesting with some beautiful paintings, but not very expansive. Many more stories could be told if the museum wanted. Especially if they did away with the completely random exhibition on some artist the name of whom I have already forgotten.
Floris H — Google review
Wear comfortable shoes! Lots of walking & perfect photos. We loved it. It was packed on a Saturday. I'm not sure if it's much better on a weekday. Not to be missed.
Gerri D — Google review
I had a wonderful experience at the Prinsenhof Museum in Delft. What really impressed me was the flow of the exhibits. The museum takes you through the life of William of Orange, also known as William the Silent, in chronological order. I didn't know much about him before, but this museum brought his story and its impact on Dutch history to life. Learning about William's children and the broader context of the Spanish and Netherlands war was truly fascinating. The museum itself is a delight. It's very interactive, which kept me engaged the whole time – and I confess, I have a bit of a short attention span! The beautiful artwork displayed throughout the exhibits added another layer to the experience. One exhibit that particularly surprised me was the one dedicated to Delft Blue pottery. I never knew about the history of these iconic blue vases and their connection to the Netherlands. It was fascinating to learn about their production and significance. Overall, I highly recommend the Prinsenhof Museum to anyone interested in Dutch history, particularly the life of William of Orange and the Spanish and Netherlands war. The museum is well-organized, informative, and engaging, making it a great experience for all.
Nicole O — Google review
Great place to learn about the local history in a very vivid way that makes you travel back in time, but also to admire, apart from the wonderful paintings, a few very good pieces of the characteristic blue and white pottery in the place their art was born. There is also the option you create your own digital pottery and get it with you in your email. I would totally recommend it if you are visit Delft.
Anthi P — Google review
Perfect place to learn more about William the Orange/ the Silent and famous painter Vermeer. Finding the entrance of the Museum is a bit tricky as it has almost like a side entrance. Signs are everywhere, so you will not get lost. Airy room once you get in. You will find your way in and greeted by the staff who is handling the audio guide. Coffee shop is available in the premises. Boutique is at site. The entire building is big, so follow the map with matching # on each door of the room, so you won’t miss any of the exhibition. Mind your head on the doorway. Washrooms are available in between the visit. I love how they present the audio against the art, so as the story telling. It was really a lovely visit.

Nestled in the heart of The Hague, Hofvijver is a charming lake that serves as a serene backdrop to the city's iconic government buildings and landmarks. This picturesque body of water is not only a recreational spot but also hosts various events throughout the year. One of its standout features is the Mauritshuis, an exquisite museum that was once home to Prince Johan Maurits van Nassau, who governed Brazil in the 17th century.
Just an amazing architecture and good for making some beautiful pictures. The Hofvijver was made rectangular by Count Albrecht of Bavaria in the 14th century. The pond retains this design to this day, although it was given quays in the 17th century and extended in the 19th century. Until around 1800, the Binnenhof was still surrounded by a moat and only accessible via bridges.

Such a calm and beautiful spot. The water, the old buildings, the modern skyline in the back… everything mixes in a nice way. I stopped here for a moment just to look around. Even on a colder day it feels peaceful. A good place to just breathe a bit while walking through The Hague.

Already a very fairytale-like place on a normal day, when frozen the Hofvijver is one of the most romantic places in the Netherlands to ice skate. Don't forget to wave to the prime minister in his Little Tower. :)

Nestled in the heart of The Hague, the Prince William V Gallery is a delightful gem that art enthusiasts should not miss. Established in 1774, it proudly holds the title of being the first public museum in the Netherlands. This charming gallery showcases an impressive collection once owned by Willem V, Prince of Orange, featuring masterpieces from renowned artists like Rembrandt and Peter Paul Rubens.
Not very crowded, which makes for a really pleasant visit. Entrance is free if you first go to the Mauritshuis and keep your ticket. They even have some Rubens and Vermeer paintings here :) In our opinion, it’s actually nicer than the main museum – quieter, less distracting, and a better space to just enjoy the art.
Liv B — Google review
A hall overflowing with paintings, both mesmerising and somewhat overwhelming. The amount of artworks crammed together makes it difficult to concentrate one’s attention on a single piece. The positive thing is that there is a booklet describing each painting which helps the admirers navigate through the lot.
Boryana M — Google review
A terrific small gallery adjacent to the prison gate museum. It has only one hall so you can either glance into the paintings in less than half an hour, or you can dive deep into the eyes and faces and small details of whatever is in the splendid paintings for more than two hours. Must see especially if you are in the area.
Salah A — Google review
This can be easy to miss as it's a couple of blocks from the Mauritshuis, but don't overlook it. There are lots of great Dutch paintings, however they're displayed in the old style, hung in multiple layers up to the ceiling. This plus the poor lighting mean that you will find it difficult to appreciate lots of the works, but the gallery is still worth visiting for the fine works on display.
John S — Google review
A nice historic collection of portraits, genre paintings and landscapes. The walls are covered in paintings, but the scope of the gallery is the entire point.
