The Basílica de San Isidoro is a captivating Romanesque and Gothic-style church and museum situated on the site of an ancient Roman temple dedicated to Mercury. It is dedicated to Saint Isidore of Seville, a former archbishop whose remains are enshrined within. The basilica is renowned for its collection of sacred relics, medieval treasures, and ancient books.
Absolutely stunning cathedral with an interesting history. It's not expensive, but when you scan the QR code, you can listen to its history from your phone as you walk around it, which is an excellent idea! You can not fail to miss the basilica as it is situated in the middle of Leon, surrounded by a plaza with cafes and shops. The basilica was wonderfully cool inside, which is welcome in 35°C heat.

Visited the outside of the Basilicia de San Isidoro, which was illuminated at night. What a site! When time permits, will return to visit the inside.
Nanita — Google review
Disappointed because you aren't allowed to take any pictures inside for some reason. Not a church really, it's more of a museum with some interesting items, but few stand out. The description of what the called the Holy Grail has been changed to the cup of Dona Urraca The best part was the mausoleum of the Kings of León
Anonguiri — Google review
We booked the 5:00pm English tour (about 45 min) through the monastery & museum. The frescoes are stunning and the museum small but with beautiful exhibits. Incredible library and song books. Our guide was easy to understand and gave us great information on the contents of the museum. Not one second of time wasted. So glad we booked the tour, it was well worth the small fee. What would make this a 5* experience for sure is if we could have taken photos. The frescoes and artifacts are stunning but hard to hold in our memories without photos. Photos are allowed in the cloister only.

Am starting to feel Spanish after many Spanish masses and benedictions. Beautiful church, with kind priests. We were able to receive a pilgrim's blessing and some song after mass had ended. Thank you!
S. M — Google review
So gorgeous and lovely. Really enjoyed it there was a pamphlet to follow along in English
Camille M — Google review
Beautiful, more than 1000 years old church in unbelievably good condition. It has seat-heating as well, so you can enjoy it comfortably even during the chilly Leon winters.
Kata M — Google review
Although it has to play second fiddle to the Cathedral it is a beautiful church in it's own right. Situated in an exquisite square on the Camino route out of Leon it is well worth a visit.

Convento de San Marcos is a grand Gothic-style church built in the 16th century, featuring an elaborate Plateresque facade. Located in Leon, a city rich in cultural attractions and historic landmarks such as the Cathedral, Roman Walls, and Basilica of San Isidoro. As a stop on the Pilgrim's Road to Santiago de Compostela, Leon offers a blend of history and modern amenities.
This church and convent building has a very impressive facade. The convent has been converted into a 5 star hotel by Parador. Only hotel customers can enter that side of the building that was the convent. However, the church on the right hand side of the building can be visited by public and it also houses a collection of artwork that is on display. The cloister is open to public also. This is also a must visit place while you are in Leon.

Worth the tour We enjoyed a free entrance on Saturday to both the Iglesia the museum but also to cloister
GR8 4 — Google review
Amazing! I found it as beautiful if not even more impressive than León Cathedral. Go to the rooms beyond the church main room. It is spectacular. Friendly staff, great atmosphere.
Wilder F — Google review
Lovely place to visit. I initially thought that was an entrance fee for it but it is free. Don’t miss the cloister, very beautiful! Definitely worth the visit. Make sure you check hours as they close on the afternoons.
Virginia L — Google review
Large open plaza with fountains set in the ground. A lovely place to sit near the river surrounded by some very old and historic building. Entrance fee charged to go in the museum (of Leon)
Gill C — Google review
It's a part of the museum of León and the entrance is free. Convent was built in XVI century. Museum's part has a lot of objects of middle age and baroque. And another part is a hotel now.
Olga S — Google review
The renovation of the building is more than you can expect. It includes a Museo de León exhibition in religious topics. The Iglesia is on the Way of Santiago (El Camino), so you can wonder the building in any time. Perfect place with the amazing and great square to have a rest and get dozens of experiences about León and its past and present.
Bertalan F — Google review
Impressive building with great detail of work out in to arches, doors and borders of facade, must visit inside of the convent as it's not only free but also give you highlights of 3rd century old Stones and tombs.

Art Museums
Casa Botines is a striking modernist building in Leon, Spain, designed by the legendary architect Antoni Gaudi. Constructed between 1891 and 1892, it was originally intended as a residential and commercial space. The edifice showcases Gaudi's unique style, blending neo-Gothic influences with his signature modernist touch. Today, Casa Botines serves as a museum displaying Spanish paintings and houses the FUNDOS art collection spanning from the fifteenth to the twentieth centuries.
Casa Botines is one of Gaudi’s modernist masterpieces that happens to be outside of his native Catalunya. Originally build in 1892 for apartments and commercial space (on the ground and lower ground floors), Casa Botines is now a museum that houses artifacts from its heyday and also works of art. While it is a bit subdued compared to some of the genius architect Gaudi’s other works, the museum and the tour are well worth it. Highly recommend especially for those who appreciate modernist architect and Gaudi in particular.
Nanita — Google review
If you’re a Gaudí lover, don’t miss Casa Botines in León! I visited it today and was so pleased. The audio guide unveils so many fascinating details about the house, Gaudí’s life, and the hidden symbolism woven into the building’s design. The beautifully reconstructed rooms offer a glimpse into how the spaces would have looked in Gaudí’s time. A section allows to delve into Gaudí’s creative mind, his deep connection to nature, geometry, and meaning, making the experience even more special. On the third floor, a rich art collection awaits, with highlights being Dalí’s Divine Comedy illustrations and Goya’s Caprichos. An inspiring and beautifully curated visit, highly recommended to anyone intrigued by Gaudí’s world beyond Barcelona!
Tanio C — Google review
Lovely Gaudi building. The building process documented on interesting display boards in Spanish and English. The highlight for us was the Goya etchings, the Los Caprichos, on the 3rd floor. A look into the mind of a genius artist.
Linda B — Google review
One of only three Gaudi buildings outside of Barcelona, Casa Botines is perhaps Gaudi's most conservative structure. That said it is still wild in its irregular beauty.
Nirav D — Google review
The building is very nice, but the museum part is very plain. Maybe it is because I am a foreigner, but I couldn't watch and analyze too long some modern arts and old house parts, just like the bathroom. There are 3 levels, and there are rooms where just posters about the architecture and methods. I don't regret this 9 euro, but I thought it would be something amazing (according to the lot of good reviews).
Richard L — Google review
Great modernist building in Leon 🔝 Casa Botines is one of the three projects outside Barcelona by Antoni Gaudi. When in Leon don’t miss it ! Highly recommended ! Camino de Santiago ( 21 apr - day 18 ) Visited April 2025
Alina M — Google review
Casa Botines is a must-visit landmark in León, especially for those interested in architecture, history, or the works of Antoni Gaudí. One of only a few Gaudí buildings located outside of Catalonia, Casa Botines stands out with its neo-Gothic façade, pointed towers, and striking stonework—resembling more a medieval castle than a city building. The museum inside offers a well-curated experience that combines art, architecture, and history. Visitors can learn about Gaudí’s vision, the building’s origins as a textile warehouse and bank, and its later restoration. The exhibition includes original sketches, furniture, and informative displays in both Spanish and English, making it accessible to international visitors. There are also temporary exhibitions and a small but interesting art collection on the upper floors. A highlight is the chance to see some of the original architectural elements up close, as well as the preserved office spaces that transport you back in time. The building is also beautifully lit in the evening and worth viewing from the outside, even after hours. Casa Botines isn’t just for architecture enthusiasts—it’s a key piece of León’s cultural heritage and a great stop for anyone wanting to appreciate Gaudí’s lesser-known but equally impressive work.
Wilder F — Google review

Catholic cathedral
León Cathedral, a grand Gothic structure dating back to the 1400s, stands as the spiritual heart of León. Its soaring towers, flying buttresses, and stunning interior make it a premier Gothic masterpiece in Spain. The cathedral's facade boasts a radiant rose window, richly sculpted doorways, and two imposing towers. Inside, visitors can admire an extraordinary collection of stained-glass windows.
Stunning. An incredible cathedral, very easy to just get lost in the beauty and grandeur of it all when touring the interior. You can get that same sense of awe and wonder on the outside as well, but inside is truly majestic. Do not miss this when you are anywhere near Leon.
Jaded G — Google review
The Leon Cathedral is a tremendous landmark that helps take Camino de Santiago pilgrims back in time to imagine what the area would have been like 800 years ago when this cathedral was built. The area around the cathedral is spacious and offers a sense of relaxation while having coffee or a meal .
Chuck C — Google review
The cathedral is so beautiful The visit is nice and it is worth the price The audio guide is clearly not good enough. It is only 5 very long recording. Would be good to inspire from Oviedo
GR8 4 — Google review
Fabulous church inside and out. Stained glass windows and vaulted ceilings are amazing. Tickets are not cheap but do not mind paying as it goes to the upkeep of this amazing cathedral. Loved that we take photos of the inside to keep our memories fresh of the glorious interior. No restrooms available.
Linda B — Google review
Wow, wow, wow. The stained glass and scale is striking. I'm not sure we could build this now. There is no reduced entrance for pilgrims, which is unusual, but the visit worth the €7. The audio-tour was cool as well. Just the right amount of detail and explanation of points of interest for my sore feet.
S. M — Google review
Breathtakingly beautiful! Around £5 to get in, which I think is a steal!!! There is a little cafe on the corner to the right which has the loveliest staff! Go there…. Not the ones opposite the church itself!

Palacio De Los Guzmanes is a must-see attraction in Leon, Spain. This grand Renaissance building, constructed in the 16th century for the influential Guzman family, now serves as the seat of the provincial government. After being purchased and restored by the government in 1882, it has become a symbol of pride for the city. The palace stands adjacent to Casa Botines and showcases stunning architecture that attracts visitors to take photos or explore its interior.
Super pretty. Couldn’t do the tour cause of vacations? But the guard let us in to see the patio. Very very pretty.
Monica P — Google review
Free tours are provided in the morning (short) and afternoon (longer), both in Spanish only. You need to put your name down on a piece of paper at 10am in the moring if you want to join the free tour. I don't really understand Spanish but it was nice to be able to walk around inside this former palace.
Un V — Google review
Why pretend not to speak English when your job is to represent your city to visitors? I just don't get that mentality. Upon arrival at the Palacio de los Guzmanes we were directed to a room where a woman was organising tours. I addressed the woman in Spanish and asked if she spoke English. She replied in Spanish 'the visit is in Spanish only'. I have never studied Spanish and do not claim to speak the language but I speak Italian and French and thanks to that could grasp what she was saying. I nodded and said that it was ok, we would join the tour anyway. She noted down our names and confirmed the time and place where the tour began, still in Spanish. When the tour began, I noted that she spoke in fluent English, but really good English, to a Dutch couple. Why do that, why make out you don't speak a language when you do? Surely the aim is to showcase your city and your country to visitors? Surely the fact that you speak fluent English is an asset? With a dozen or so visitors, the tour began. There were five English speakers (the Dutch couple, my wife, my son and I) and a family who originated from Southern China (my wife is Chinese and noted that they spoke Chinese), plus four Spanish people. OK, we are in Spain and the tour is in Spanish, but with half of the group speaking no Spanish, and non Spanish speakers making up more than half of the group, why not make a bit of an effort? Perhaps a short summary in English would have been enough to satisfy everyone? The result was that the Dutch couple left bored halfway through the tour, my son and I double guessed via French and Italian translating to my wife, the Chinese family concentrated on taking photos, and two Spanish couples chatted with the guide. Great result for the city of Leon.
M O — Google review
When I visited they said you can’t tour by yourself. I can only understand a bit of Spanish and apparently according to reviews, the tour groups are only in Spanish. It’s much more efficient if you can view it by yourself without being locked in a tour group that you can’t even understand. Furthermore, the fact that a tour group exists means León recognizes this is a tourist spot; either give the non-Spanish speakers freedom to explore the place (>15 minutes) or give them an English tour.
Aisha R — Google review
Tour only in Spanish and the lady who gave the tour seemed to have some English but we were left sittin and standing in the courtyard and the government chamber like dummies. Pity we wasted our time. I googled the basics about the place while sitting there. Bored and frustrated.
Colette B — Google review
Very nice place for a quick visit The guided tour is very cheap and totally worth it, they show you the main room upstairs which is very beautiful The best thing about this tour is the lovely lady who was giving the tour when we went, she gave a lot of very cool facts and told us many things about the place, Leon, and in general anything related that you might ask her and more. Highly recommended guided visit tour
Elena — Google review
Guided tour only in Spanish... I wish this was made clear before we bought tickets at the machine which gave information in several different languages! 5 minutes would have been enough looking around but we were locked in for an hour!
E F — Google review
The tour is quite boring. Not much to see, a lot of explanations.

The Museo de León is a history museum located in the region of Castilla y Leon, showcasing a wide array of archaeological artifacts, art pieces, and coins that date back to the Bronze and Iron Ages. One of its unique collections features ancient artifacts from the Roman gold-mining site at Las Medulas. The museum offers interactive exhibits for kids and guided tours for visitors to learn about the city's rich history, from its Roman origins to modern developments.
Wonderful value for only 1 euro. Solid translations into English give the visitor a good introduction to local Leonese history from prehistory to the 20th century. Expect to see compact yet insightful exhibitions on ancient crafts and trade, ancient currencies and tombstones, medieval and early modern religious art, artifacts of daily life from all periods concerned, etc. Totally worth at least an hour or two.

This is an excellent FREE museum. It is well curated and follows the history of the area around Leon from prehistory to modern times. Make sure to go up and down the correct stairs to follow the history in order. The displays were very nice with many surprising artifacts. Description boards in Spanish and English. There are lockers at the entrance for bags. Kind people at reception.

This is a medium sized museum spread over three floors. There are some English descriptions provided. When I visited there a temporary exhibit of coins was on display. There is a good collection of Roman tomb stones on display in the basement, which I found quite interseting. Worth a visit.

Employees are very rude. At 1:30pm they begin following you around as if you are a criminal. Actually they want you out by 1:45 so they can close at 2pm. They turn off all the lights even if you are in an exhibit making it very unsafe and dangerous for the individual left in that room. Exhibits are incredible but workers should be ashamed of themselves. Their time is clearly more important than the safety of their patrons or the masterpieces they work to show the world.

The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León is a striking contemporary art museum in the region, featuring a colorful paintbox facade made of 37 shades of colored glass. The museum houses over 1,650 works by Spanish, Leonese, and international artists dating back to 1992. Designed by renowned architects Luis Mansilla and Emilio Tunon, the building's rainbow-colored glass sheets are inspired by the stained glass of the cathedral.

(Translated by Google) As soon as you cross the threshold of this parish dedicated to Saint Marcellus you can perceive in a very palpable way that one has just crossed the doors of a sacred temple. Despite being in the heart of León, a sacred silence reigns that permeates everything with a subtle invitation to gather in contemplative prayer. To the left of the main altar is a beautiful image of Saint Martha, who always remembers what is important in the present moment. To the right of the altar, we find a representation of Our Lady of Mount Carmel that leads to the chapel where the impressive image of the Santo Cristo de la Agonía is located. It is impossible not to stop at the feet of the Lord and deeply thank his Passion, Holy Death and Resurrection. It is difficult not to surrender to the invisible invitation to meditate each season of the Passion in this prayer corner. In this sacred place, the hours pass as if they were minutes. It is as if time stopped in an eternal present where the healing force of the here and now is perceived. The living presence of Love permeates every corner of this parish and it is very easy to feel the healing of the Soul as inspiration after inspiration occurs. What a delight!! If you are looking for a time of true encounter with the force of silence, you cannot miss entering here. -Small museum, super confusing and unclear floor plan. No signs or any instructions which way should I go. - Nothing in English, all texts are in Spanish. - Some artifacts are really good, rest is avarage for such a museum. - Apparently no photo, which is not unacceptable in 2025 for a permanent collection. Pedro G — Google review
(Translated by Google) Today, it constitutes a unique collection of its kind, housing pieces from all periods of art history, from prehistory to the 20th century, all spread across seventeen rooms, in the vicinity of the cathedral cloister. It is entered through a beautiful walnut door, which, according to Professor Merino Rubio, was made for the library by Juan de Quirós before 1513. Its tympanum depicts the fully Flemish scene of the Annunciation, set against a space with Gothic arches. In the first room, we see the Plateresque staircase by Juan de Badajoz the Younger, which facilitated access to the chapter house. It is comparable to the one built by Diego de Covarrubias in the Palace of Santa Cruz in Toledo. The support of its three levels is profusely decorated with fine work of bueraneo, candelieri, medallions, and other themes from the finest Renaissance. The pretext for placing the coat of arms of the patron bishop, Pedro Manuel, on the small platform that stands out above the balustrade was sought. Adoration of the Magi, by Pedro de Campaña. Several works are displayed in this frame formed by the stairwell. These include two beautiful 14th-century Calvaries, carved in wood with traces of polychrome; the larger one, from Gusendos de los Oteros, has suffered several mutilations due to having been buried for centuries beneath the presbytery of the church, and the other, more stylized, belonged to the pre-Romanesque church of San Adrián; a 14th-century polychrome stone statue of the Virgin and Child, known as the "Old Virgin of Dado"; a transitional crucifix from Grajal de Campos from the beginning of the same century; two late Gothic panels with apostles from Tomeros, and six oil paintings from the last third of the 16th century, belonging to the lost altarpiece from Fuentes de Carbajal, with scenes from the infancy and passion of Christ. The museum houses a 13th-century ivory Christ, some sculptures by Juan de Juni and his disciples, a 16th-century missal, and several liturgical ornaments from the same period. The library houses several Visigothic manuscripts and a copy of the Lex Romana Visigothorum.

Farmacia Merino, Dra. María José Alonso Núñez is a must-see pharmacy in Leon. The interior is like an open museum, preserving the essence of an old apothecary with beautiful and well-preserved ceilings. The woodwork and marquetry are wonderful, taking visitors back to another century. It's located on one of the busiest pedestrian streets in Leon, close to the cathedral.

Panteón Real, attached to the Real Basilica de San Isidoro, is a remarkable site housing royal sarcophagi beneath stunning Romanesque frescoes. The vaults and arches are adorned with colorful biblical scenes, illuminated by poor lighting. Visitors can also explore a small museum showcasing the shrine of San Isidoro and other treasures. Despite the dim lighting, guided tours provide essential insights into this historically significant place.
We took a guided tour in spanish and it was really worth. Really good explanations and interesting things to see.

This is the museum with the magnificent Romanesque fresco - all original dating back to the 11th C. They have free tours on some evenings, which I was lucky enough to be able to join by chance - it was in Spanish but the guide was kind enough to give explanations in English just for me. So why the four stars and not five? Simply because they do not allow photography in the fresco section. I specifically visited Leon to photograph this fresco so I was very disappointed that it wasn't made clear on their website that this is the case. May be they did mention it in Spanish. It is definitely worth a visit, even just to look at the fresco.

ISLALEÓN is a small but pleasant water park with 4 slides, 2 pools, and a zipline that kids enjoy. Despite some limitations like strict lifeguards and occasional ride closures, visitors find it worth the entry fee. The park offers a large resting area and a variety of food options, including the opportunity for a BBQ. While not as large as other water parks, ISLALEÓN stands out for its enjoyable experience and better slides compared to others in the area.
We loved the day over there!! Very nice staff and I believed that it cost 10€ per person because there is the opportunity to do a BBQ. The only thing that I find strange is that the children entry is the same as an adult 10€ it's true that it's the first time that I see this.

The Estatua La Negrilla is a sculpture that pays tribute to the magnificent elm trees that once adorned the streets of Spain. It represents the artist's nostalgia for these beautiful trees, which were referred to as "negrillas" in the local dialect. Unfortunately, these trees have disappeared from the urban landscape in many areas. The statue serves as a reminder of their significance and presence in Spanish culture.
A bronze statue dedicated to the great elm trees of the sculptor's youth. Known as "negrillas" in the local dialect, they have sadly disappeared from the streetscape throughout much of Spain.

(Translated by Google) The Estatua “La Negrilla” – or rather, León’s entry in the “What the hell is that supposed to represent?” competition. This bronze masterpiece by Amancio González sits half-reclining proudly in the Plaza de Santo Domingo and embodies modern urbanity - or so they say. With its angular, cubist shapes, it looks as if she had a close friendship with Picasso, who advised her: "Less is more, unless it's more confusing." Supposedly it represents the city's transformation, but honestly it looks more like that , as if she herself was still having difficulty processing this change. A tribute to the strength of León? Perhaps. Or simply a clever way to leave passersby perplexed. But at least it's something to talk about, and that's what counts after all!

(Translated by Google) CHURCH OF THE SAVIOR OF PALAT DEL REY. The king's palace. San Salvador de Palat del Rey, also called San Salvador del Palaz del Rey, is a Christian church considered the oldest known in the city of León, in Spain. It belonged to a monastery founded by King Ramiro II of León, built between 931-951 next to his palace and intended for his daughter Elvira Ramírez, who entered it as an abbess nun. Next to the property there was a cemetery, estimated to be the first royal pantheon in León. Next to this monastery of San Salvador de Palat del Rey (or Palaç de Rei) there was a cemetery where the Leonese kings Ramiro II, Ordoño III, Sancho I of León and Ordoño IV were buried. After the passage and devastation of Almanzor In 988, these burials were moved to the Royal Pantheon. With Almanzor's incursion into the area in 988, the complex would suffer significant devastation. Later restorations began in the church, which became a parish, although it reached the first years of the 20th century in a state of abandonment, such that it was on the verge of being destroyed. It was saved thanks to the architectural study of archaeologist Juan Crisóstomo Torbado and the historical study of Manuel Gómez-Moreno; Both demonstrated the importance of preserving a building of great value in the history of the kingdom of León and, therefore, in the history of Spain. In 2006 the last restoration and enhancement of this ancient church took place. It was declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 1931. The original building was of Mozarabic architecture, with a Greek cross plan, with access to the apse through a triumphal arch on columns. This building must have been designed and built on top of a Roman temple, with marble columns. Mozarabic architecture in the kingdom of León knew how to take advantage, in many cases, with subtlety, of the remains of Roman temples. The influence of the East can be observed in all its factories. An influence that perhaps did not come from southern Muslim Hispania, as many experts believe, but from Gaul, where the kingdom of the Merovingians and later the empire of Charlemagne, strongly influenced the Christian sentiment of the Leonese kingdom. (Original) IGLESIA DEL SALVADOR DE PALAT DEL REY.

They helped to make this visit spectacular! The majority of the museum is in Castellano or English and spans over 3 floors of an old home. It is kid friendly and interactive and has lots of videos with people sharing their life experiences. It tells the powerful story about the people of Leon that were brave enough to forge new futures far from home (primarily during the 20th century in Mexico). I find this place is well done with great staff and should be on your itinerary if you visit the city. I say it probably takes 45 minutes to 1.5 hours to encompass it all depending of course on your interest. ¡Disfrutarse!

We heard about the emigration of Spaniards to Mexico, by a gentleman who had done it. We decided to visit the museum to find out more. A few restrictions due to the pandemic, but interesting all the same.

We chose the guided tour and César took us around the house with his very pleasant explanations. You discover both the history of a private house in León that is almost 100 years old and that of thousands of Leonese who emigrated...very educational and a very interactive museum. Puente Romano de San Marcos, also known as the Roman bridge, has undergone several demolitions and reconstructions over the years. It crosses the Tormes River and offers a beautiful view from the terraces of Salamanca's old city. Visitors can take a pleasant walk from Leon's center to reach this picturesque bridge, which has been illuminated for added charm. Nearby, there is a park and attractions like the Burgos museum and National Parador.

Francisco H — Google review
(Translated by Google) A beautiful sculpture of three great women who, as the article in Diario de León says, which I accompany below, after their inauguration, should be better known. And especially in these current times. Three new neighbors ABAD ANTONIO VIÑAYO INAUGURATED THE SCULPTURE THAT IMMORTALIZES THE LEONESE INFANTS SANCHA, URRACA AND ELVIRA E. GANCEDO - LEÓN. MARCH 12, 2003 (00:00 H.) "They were the most select of the medieval Leonese people." With these words, the abbot of the Collegiate Church of San Isidoro, Antonio Viñayo, defined the infantas Sancha, Elvira and Urraca, whose sculpture was officially inaugurated yesterday on Ramón y Cajal street, at the foot of the monumental complex of San Isidoro. This inauguration, which was part of the commemorative events of International Women's Day, brought together, in addition to Abbot Antonio Viñayo, the Councilor for Equal Opportunities, Inés Prada, the mayor of the city, Mario Amilivia, and the woman herself. sculptor, María Salud Parada Morollón from Salamanca, as well as several other councilors. The artist won, in June of last year, the public competition to place in a space in the city a sculpture of these three women who exerted a decisive influence on the historical trajectory of the Leonese country. Although the monument was installed in front of San Isidoro for fifteen days, this will be, from now on, its definitive location. Remembering these women "in charge of governing all the monasteries of the kingdom", as Viñayo explained, and therefore, with great power, is the objective of the sculpture group. The abbot of the Collegiate Church recalled how Sancha and her daughters Elvira and Urraca - whose remains have rested, for eight centuries, in the Royal Pantheon - were the architects of successive extensions of the aforementioned monument and, specifically, to Urraca "we owe the donation of the chalice that bears his name" and a "life-size ivory crucifix with a gold skirt one finger thick; "that disappeared with the French raid." The author described the infantas as “spiritual, pious and very cultured,” whose bronze image shows angular lines with a realistic concession on the face. María Salud Parada missed greater knowledge and dissemination of the history of the Kingdom of León.

Everyone, Here with you guys again Your Blackjack Pro Friend with some new Insights on this Casino Called Casino Conde Luna In Leon, Spain. Decided to come to Spain, to visit this little town Called Leon, Looked up google for any Casino's With live Blackjack tables. Come To find this casino came out and hear this: This are the Pros: 1- Kindaaaaaa Free Drink, Only for Table. Thats it, No more Pros. 😧 These are the Cons of this so called Casino: 1- No Blackjack Tables, They only open ONE poker Table and its not even real Poker that you play against other people, only against casino. 2- I Asked them i was the only one there and to please open a blackjack table, The big guy said That For some reason they dont have nobody that knows how to deal Blackjack. 3- They only have Automatic Shuffle Machines, So you already know how we do, and what do we say: No Winner has ever won in a table with An Automatic Shuffler, Why cuz its Rigged of course we all know but somehow we still play cuz there is no other option. 4- They are not a Good Quality Casino, Cheap Tables, Bad Chips, Ugly Cards. 5- As an American that has been in Hundreds of Casinos Around the US and other countries this one is by far one of the worst. And this is a constructive critic for the owner so the owner if they realllyyyy want to make money, They need to step up a knotch and stop acting like the little guys and taking the small town's Money in the only 2 games they know they can profit in a major scale. Having that Said Thank you very much, It was nice playing For a bit, But not Thanks Im not coming back. i rather give my money to a Casino that at Least Opens 24/7 not just some days of the weeks and only at nighttime. I would like the owner to review the images so that he himself could see the events..., and then say that he had made a mistake and that now it could happen. Many times you have to see who is the security guard.... Because they get into the role and what happens happens. This Casino lost...., You will have plenty of clients and that is your right. As I said, be careful with your security colleague.

Also, thanks to the detailed explanations, we'll learn more about vernacular architecture and its elements. The castle's singularity is that it was more of a palace than a defensive enclosure, this is mostly what has survived to us (15th and 16th centuries). The Claustro de la Catedral de León is considered one of the most beautiful cloisters in Spain, featuring stunning tracery on its vaults. Construction began at the end of the 13th century and was completed in the early 14th century. The walls are adorned with frescoes from the 15th century, and intricate vaults were added around 1540. The courtyard offers a view of the cathedral's pinnacle, allowing visitors to appreciate its grandeur.

Details everywhere, it is well worth spending time on. Very nice photos. There is access to a museum that is not included in the entrance to the cathedral and the person at the ticket office offered us a rather unpleasant deal. I repeat the cloister is totally recommended. (Translated by Google) Alonso Pérez de Guzmán, better known as Guzmán the Good, was born in León on January 24, 1256, and died in Gaucín (Málaga) on September 19, 1309. He was a Spanish soldier and nobleman who is considered the founder of the House of Medina-Sidonia. Although he never held the title of Duke of Medina-Sidonia, he laid the foundations upon which the noble house would be established over the centuries. Legend tells of Alonso Pérez de Guzmán defending the city of Tarifa (Cádiz), then besieged by the Benimerines of Morocco. The besiegers found no way to defeat him in arms and seized his 10-year-old son, Pedro Alfonso, who was presented to his father before the fortress walls and invited him to surrender the city or else they would kill his son. And here the heroic deed arose, a demonstration of selflessness and loyalty, after struggling between his paternal love and the fidelity he had promised to his king, Sancho IV. Guzmán the Good, leaning over the wall, refused to surrender the siege the king had entrusted him with guarding. To demonstrate his determination, he threw his own dagger into the field, while, according to an ancient ballad, he exclaimed: “Kill him with this one, if you have decided, for I prefer honor without a son, rather than a son with my honor stained.” A remarkable triumph for his word, given through the sacrifice of his son. For this reason, the king gave him the nickname “The Good” and the Lordship of Sanlúcar.

It has to be said, this is a real “Father of the Year” trophy! How inspiring that we celebrate such heroic acts of self-sacrifice. I just wonder if Guzmán thought that day: “Well, what are the years of education and family happiness compared to defending a fortress? After all, the walls are thicker than blood!” There's probably nothing like a good lesson in patriotism, especially when it costs the lives of one's descendants.

(Translated by Google) Alonso Pérez de Guzmán ("Guzmán el Bueno"), a soldier and nobleman from León, born around 1256, became legendary for his defense of Tarifa, ordered by King Sancho IV, when the Infante Don Juan besieged it. During the capture, his son was brought before the fortress walls, and Guzmán was given a choice: surrender the fortress or kill his son. He chose loyalty to the king/commitment: "I have not fathered a son that he should be against my land." The king gave him the nickname "El Bueno" (the Good) for his loyalty and for opening the granaries of his house to feed the poor during a year of famine. The monument serves as an entry point to the city: it is located so that people arriving through the station immediately see it. This makes it not just a monument, but a visual marker of the city for visitors. There's a fountain around the monument and it's located in a traffic circle, so most traffic circles around it throughout the day, going about their business. It's a very bright spot and, like a beacon, indicates which direction you're in, and it's visible from afar. It seems like it could use a little cleaning.

The site, the facilities and, above all, the attention of Nacho and Charlie, the father and son who manage the park, are exceptional. Initially we considered going to Mr. Shark in Valencia de Don Juan, but we opted for Frontera Celta when we discovered that it was a family-friendly facility, less commercial and in a natural enclave with the Porma River and abundant trees. What success! We enjoyed the two rope courses and zip lines, as well as the jump into the void, repeating all the activities. The Saferroller by Kanopeo safety system that Nacho has installed is the best and safest I have seen in adventure parks and via ferratas, far surpassing double carabiner systems. The setting includes farm animals such as loving mules, roosters, chickens and pigs, adding charm to the place. Nacho and Charlie took great care of us, even treating us to soft drinks and food, which we didn't expect. We were eager to return to repeat and try paintball/laser tag and canoes. We had an unforgettable afternoon and we will definitely return. I recommend going at sunset in summer for the pleasant temperature and beautiful light. In short, Frontera Celta offers a safe and exciting adventure experience in a beautiful natural environment, with personalized attention that makes the visit truly special.

(Translated by Google) Current works by Leonese artists. We liked the visit and we will repeat to see the next exhibitions. It would be very good to provide explanations of the works of each artist.

(Translated by Google) Art and history, temporary exhibition, archaeological remains. And I loved the views of the cathedral from the 3rd floor, it is worth visiting, Price €1.50 for kids with a youth card, they are not charged, and for retirees, unemployed.... Highly recommended to visit.

(Translated by Google) It is a building that was once the Institute of Hygiene, a beautiful period building that preserves the original doors and windows, a staircase with wooden railings and has been converted into an Art Center, where exhibitions are programmed, and which has three floors, two of them dedicated to exhibition space and the last to administrative offices. In the entrance hall, not very spacious but cozy, is the information desk manned by a guard who receives visitors and kindly tells you the itinerary. The floors are made of wood, with skirting boards of the same material and the walls are smooth white lime. There are printed arrows marking the itinerary through the different rooms.
