Agree with other reviews, that place is truly beautiful and accessible, even though it's around 8km one way to Morske Oko. However, parking is expensive and toilets are not free( except honey buckets) , so make sure to bring some cash. It was a little bit chilly at the top( at the beginning of May), bring some warm clothes with you and grab some snacks.

Mountains have breathtaking views. Cable car was a less than 15 minutes to the top. Definitely worth the time and hike. Dress accordingly and wear proper shoes. Highly recommend visiting on a clear sunny day. Note: they charge for bathrooms, however the bathrooms near the ticket booths are free of charge.

Perfect park, in all seasons with different types of path

I recently visited Morskie Oko. It is definitely breathtaking. However, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THE HORSE CARRIAGES! The horses are treated poorly and looked very overworked, pulling asses of 10-15 people up and down the hill. It really ruined my hike seeing horses being mistreated in such a cruel way and sent up and down the hill while it’s so hot outside. I saw horses with tongues hanging out of their mouths while carrying the carriage, really horrible. While I saw that they were fed I did not see that they had any water given in this heat. Honestly, it’s 2025, if you want to see the mountains , you need to be prepared to hike for the views. I also saw vehicles for disabled people. So there is no excuse to this cruelty. Last year, a horse collapsed right there while carrying people up the hill. Many have died after few months of being in this service or sent to slaughterhouses. They don’t have a long lifespan due to them being constantly overworked and mistreated. Please do not promote such a horrible treatment towards animals, who definitely deserve better than this.

It's a pretty mountain range but we had to do a long day trip to see it. Personally, I didn't think it was worth it. The top of the hill has a number of repetitive kiosks of food and souvenirs but it all felt so touristy and commercial. I would not recommend this visit. You do need tickets for the funicular to go up although we saw people hiking - maybe that would've been a more fun activity.

As I read from another comment, I strongly recommend to visit the Tatra Museum before you do anything else in Zakopane. A brief overview of the lives and the history of Podhale region. Get an idea of why this place is so much different from other places in Poland.

It is one of the oldest regional museums in Poland, founded in 1888 to showcase the culture and art of the Podhale region. The exhibitions are spread over several floors: the ground floor features a historical and ethnographic section, the first floor is dedicated to natural history, the second floor hosts temporary exhibitions, and the third is reserved for staff. We decided to visit it to understand a bit about the Tatra mountains. It was a pleasant surprise. 1. They have cloak rooms, and lockers that helped us to store our rainwear. 2. The audio guides(purchased separately/not included in ticket) helped us immensely. 3. 99% artifacts had English translation. 4. They have arranged the artifacts on two floors. First floor showcases history of Zakopane, the second floor showcases Tatra mountains. 5. The staff was polite and efficient. While we liked the Zakopane history section, we loved the Tatra exhibition. The stones are arranged in chronological order and gives a glimpse of how the geology evolved. The two videos on large screens are helpful in case you don't have audio guides. The best part was juxtaposition of animals(exhibits) and leaves in ascending order of altitude. Geology enthusiasts can spend an entire day here, while noobs like me can easily invest 3h.

Great Trek. The trail is hard 3h up and 3h down. At the summit there's a que to climb up and down which takes extra 2 to 3 hours. Plan your time accordingly. GL hf

Nice peak with big crucifix and 360 degree view. We have started the hike from Mala Laka parking (price 30 PLN or 20 PLN for whole day depending on which parking lot you choose). Ascend takes about 3 hours. It's not very difficult and it's nice. There are chains below the peak but nothing very difficult. Whole hiking path is very well marked. We choose yellow path for descend and it was a mistake. The path is terrible with a lot of gravel, loose stones and huge slippery boulders (when wet). Never again. But whole hike is great and you are surrounded by beautiful nature.

I hiked to Giewont at the beginning of April. There was still a lot of snow on the ascent from Kuźnice, and I’m glad I didn’t descend on that same side, as it would have been quite difficult. The top of the mountain is easy to reach; climbing up through the chains wasn’t difficult. I descended on the west side of the mountain, and it was much better. There was barely any snow, and the stone stairs looked well maintained. I definitely recommend having microspikes with you when there is still snow above 1500m. Trekking poles can also be helpful. Beware of the avalanches. The view from the top is totally worth any difficulties!

Definitely worth to visit, closer to top views are breathtaking. Also cool that you can continue to different direction and get even more tops visited. However, consider crowds. At Wednesday, around 13.00 it was very long queue to the top in the last section. Instead of 20 minutes it would take at least 2 h. So be the early bird and it will be okay

We climbed Giewont via the red trail in November. The weather was perfect, though there was already snow on the upper parts. The trail became harder once we hit the snow — it was compacted and icy, and the rocks were wet and slippery, so good hiking boots are essential. Some sections are quite challenging when it’s icy. The summit is very small, with very limited space for people. While the chain section isn’t too difficult to climb, descending can be more dangerous. Climbing with chains didn’t seem too difficult, but going down felt more dangerous. The views are absolutely worth the effort!

Amazing mountain range in Zakopane. We visited in May 2017 and enjoyed the fantastic views. As you might expect at this altitudes, the weather can change pretty quick and we had massive hail stones. Worth packing a change of clothes just in case!

What a view you get from the top. We were very blessed with sunny weather, so the visit was incredible. The ride up there was really nice, with beautiful scenery all around you. Once on top, you can just relax, have some food, visit the observatory located on a small hill just above the main building. Gift shop is available as well. Hiking routes are also available from all the directions. Wintertime, skiing slope is here for use as well with separate cable lift. The views of Slovak and Polish Tatras were breathtaking. This is a must place to visit once in Polish Tatras for sure.

We bought tickets the night before and had Bolt pick us up from our Airbnb so getting there was easy. I admire all of the dedicated hikers but we were short on time and focused on getting to the top to soak in the views. It’s stunning and worth it. If we didn’t go, we would’ve regretted it. I highly recommend buying tickets online in advance, especially on clear days. We took a chance, stood in line (1.5 hours!), and ended up running out of tickets. The next day, we bought tickets in advance, but the weather turned bad, and everything was foggy up there. That was an adventure, too, but we only saw the mountain views up to a certain height.

-2025.10.14- All the buildings on the peak is closed until November 7, trolley including. If you are hiking from Zakopane to the summit bring spikes or chains for your shoes. At the top is very slippery and steep.

We has daily free access included in our accommodation. It was great! Clean, not too crowded, even earlier when families were there. The 2 big slides were amazing, there was ample room in the bubbles outdoors and indoors. The locker system is genius and very easy to use. The views of the mountains are beautiful. Very easy to spend 2 hours here unwinding. The staff were very patient and friendly, despite our terrible Polish!

A great way to spend a cold afternoon with our two teenage boys while visiting Zakopane. The outdoor pools we very clean and really warm and nice to relax in and look at the mountains. Good value for a couple of hours and yiu can hire towels too. The slides were good fun for the boys.

The Aqua Park ticket price Happy Hour is very correct coz more than 3h when you don't have childrens you cannot stay coz very boring. The pools inside still cold and outside is just perfect 🥰 The sauna areea is really not intersting , and the smell is not confortable. The parking capacitty is very small, and you need to pay 1zloty for each .

I have been with my 2 kids the 10th of Nov and it is really good. Important tips: 1.- parking is included since 1pln/ hour 2.-I were very early at 9 am for 2,5h. People is complaining that it is very crowded but until 11am it was great. It is true that after it becomes preaty crowded. 3.- with 2,5h it is was more than enough

We visited the Zakopane Water Park in the middle of the week. The day was cloudy, and we arrived around 1 PM. At the ticket counter, there were only two people in front of us, so there was practically no waiting. Inside, there were quite a lot of visitors. Getting into the thermal pools was easy, but to use the massage jets we had to wait until others finished. There was also a separate pool for guests aged 14+, which was a nice option. The outdoor pools had pleasantly warm water, though they were also quite crowded. At the slides, waiting times varied: about 5–10 minutes for the red slide and 10–20 minutes for the green one. Overall, it wasn’t too bad, but definitely noticeable. We didn’t try the food, but I checked the menu – prices seemed reasonable. The only downside is that the water park could be larger to better accommodate the number of visitors.

Beautiful little church peaceful and full of original wood work. Unfortunately whilst on holiday we received very sad news about my husband’s family member passing therefore we wished to just have a private moment in prayer. We felt the need to go in together as a family with our family Labrador dog as we had nowhere to leave him. I felt it totally appropriate in time and in Gods eyes until a nun came in and asked me out saying it is inappropriate to bring a dog into a Church. The church was almost empty , very quiet in prayer with my own family and my dog very well trained just sat there . I am so incredibly sad we all left on the middle of our prayers because of her remarks. Terrible thing to do by any human and without any reason other than being bitter.

I wouldn’t recommend if you suffer from vertigo or have a issues with walking / keeping your balance. Nice for kids, and place to visit when you have no schedule 🌚 I took enough photos gorgeous my review ☺️

A nice place. The house isn’t particularly big — it has two floors and a yard. The house stands on one side of the roof, and when you walk in, it feels a bit unbalanced, with an angle the upstairs makes it hard to walk. On the second floor, there’s a mirror where you can take pictures, with a table and chairs hanging from the ceiling above you. Overall, it was nice.

It's a really short and quick expirience to share a laugh, at most 10 minutes, not too many things to see but the feeling you get from being there makes it fun.

The restaurant was very atmospheric and had the option of parking behind the building. The decor was charming and with traditional live music it created an atmosphere. Unfortunately, the staff did not take the initiative and did not try to improve the service of guests or customers waiting for a table. The meals were very tasty and nicely served. Zakopane has a large gastronomic base so next time I will visit another restaurant.

The food was good overall, the service was friendly and we didn’t feel pressured to leave despite the fact there was a queue forming outside. To those travellers who would like to experience polish, you SHOULD AVOID this restaurant. It would disappoint you for sure. If you can’t go there earlier enough to get an indoor seat, just DONT choose this restaurant!!! We waited in a long queue and no body noticed us cause of course the waiters are busy! Until they showed us the outdoor seat it were already 10minute wait. Sitting outside meant you would get MANY second hand smoke. What does it mean? The indoor customers finished their food and got plenty of time coming out smoking in front of you! I felt so annoyed, I never smoke and I had asthma!!! The restaurant won’t limit diner time, and those sitting inside would just occupy their table forever. The outside people left like 3 tables gone but none from inside gone. And we waited for 30 mins for our cheese cake to come because they don’t bother to serve outside customer. No one care about you. The food were not worth 4.9 points for SURE. The outside environment was freezing and they served all plates at once. All of them would get cold in 5mins before you are able to finish.

We visited twice because the first experience left such a strong impression. During our first visit, we had kwaśnica served in a small cauldron over a candle (a great touch), kaszanka with sautéed cabbage, and roasted mutton with mint sauce plus extra roasted potatoes and a bryndza cheese salad — all fresh, flavorful, and served in enormous portions. The zsiadłe mleko was a great local drink and also helped with digestion. On our second visit, we tried grule (potatoes with pork cracklings) and a rich, intensely garlicky soup with croutons and a generous helping of cheese — one of the best garlic soups we've had. The service was quick and professional despite how busy it was. It’s a very popular spot, so expect a wait during peak hours — but it’s absolutely worth it. This restaurant is a true culinary highlight of Zakopane.

Dined here 2 nights straight because the food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Restaurant has live musicians and cozy atmosphere. On the first night, we had to wait for almost 30 mins to get a table even though we were the 2nd couple in the queue. The staff did not come out to physically acknowledge you are waiting until there is a table cleared and available. But there is a clear sign for guests to wait. We were seated next to the toilet, not exactly nice but okay since it is a popular place. Garlic soup, mukled wine, grilled salmon and chicken cutlet (they called it grilled) were excellent. On the second night, we went earlier at just after 5pm. We got a table immediately and unfortunately, next to the toilet again with rather busy traffic. Ribs was excellent. It is not melt in your mouth kind. Lightly seasoned with no sauces. Pork cutlet with cheese was fine if rather heavy.

Had to wait a bit to get in but once in and sat service was excellent and quick. The atmosphere is amazing with the live music and mix of locals and tourists. Food was also excellent mixing in local specialties with traditional polish cuisine.

Not sure if it was the post–Morskie Oko hike hunger talking, or if this place really is that good — but it was honestly one of the best meals I’ve ever had. We had traditional Polish dishes: Żurek soup (hope I’m spelling that right), pork ribs, and homemade-style fried potatoes. Also chicken with amazing sauce on it. Simply amazing. I also loved the outdoor vibe — cozy and authentic. People say it’s even more charming indoors during the winter, and I really hope to come back and experience that too. Huge thanks to the staff for the warm and friendly service. Definitely go — you won’t regret it!

The ticket price was 28 PLN, which feels a bit high considering how short the visit is. The displays are creative and detailed, but some areas could definitely use better maintenance — a few enclosures didn’t smell great and looked like they could be cleaner. I also noticed that some parts of the setups (like high poles or steep slopes) could be unsafe for the tiny animals. Overall, it’s a very memorable experience, especially for animal lovers or families with kids. With a bit more attention to cleanliness and animal safety, this place could easily become a must-visit gem in Zakopane. ❤️

Awful conditions for the mice. The smell was unbearable and if it was like that for me, I can't imagine how bad it must be inside the cages. Poo everywhere. Unacceptable. There were way too many mice to a cage, especially one tiny one where all the mice were piled on top of each other. There was 1 wheel per cage, which is not enough for so many mice. I saw 3 mice trying to crawl in at the same time. The wheels were also too small I think and will cause back problems for the mice. Even disregarding the blatant animal welfare issues, as a customer, the experience was awful due to the smell. This place should be shut down.

Attraction is in basement, many different windows with different setting. It was cute to watch the mouses in different environments. Conditions was quite good, not dirty, just a bit of a smell from beginning. The only problem was cashier. We didn't have a problem the payments was possible only by cash, but she wanted exact amount of cash because she didn't have any change. We have to leave and buy something in order to have some change exactly as she wanted. Not very welcoming.

Very nice place, we really enjoyed. My daughter which is 3 years old didn't want to leave Zakopane without visiting Myszogrod for the second time. So we have to turn around and visit it.

Great views. We hiked. 3 h up. Took cable car back down 30 euros, very expensive. To expensive for a Eastern Europe country. Makes no sense its more expensive than the ones in North America…. But it is what it is. No parking close must get private parking. Lots of people. Great views at the top Only. Worth it for hiker not so much for non hikers, your kind of just gonna wait in a super long line to get on top of a mountain then you have 1,40 min max on top before waiting in line again and going back down. Waited in line to get a ticked for about 1,5h, eventually decided to hike instead of waiting. Great hike (northern route along the left side of the river) fairly easy if trained well maintained path except for all the garbage :( after the ascend we wanted to take the cable car but we were told that again we needed to wait a long time with the possibility of being stranded. Eventually I decided to do the descent by foot what ended up in a beautiful scenic hike into sundown!

Amazing place! We took the cable car and bought our tickets earlier that morning. When we arrived, we saw a very long line, so it’s worth checking the website even if you’re already there. Prices change depending on the time of day, so if you want a cheaper option, check the website to see when it’s best to go. We went up the mountain and hiked back down — really beautiful!

Cable car to bring you up to Kasprowy. Spent about $38 USD for round trip. Seems pricey but honestly is so worth it. This will give you access to hike the other peaks nearby. Nice restaurant / cafe at the top although it was really packed so we weren’t able to get a seat and get any food or drinks.

It was amazing. I'd like to hike there next time instead of the cable car. Be careful with the timing and the weather, even though it was sunny, up there was crazy cold and windy. After some time we were completely in the clouds.

The cable car is a bit expensive but still absolutely worth it because of the amazing views down from the mountain. The two main issues: - The stay time at the top seems to be limited to 1:40h and you have a departure time for your return trip given - very strange and uncommon, might be a bit tight depending on the activities planned up there. - The gondolas are crammed full to the limit before they even concider leaving the station. Also it feels like cable cars are completely foreign to them. Having to wait for more than ten minutes in front of closed doors even though the gondola is already in the station wouldn't happen in Switzerland.

Another great spot to visit once in southern Poland. We visited on a weekday, out of summer holidays and there was no line whatsoever. If you get lucky with weather as well, you'll be getting beautiful views. The Ground station is not accessible by cars, cars to be parked in town and shuttle to be taken to the ground station. Area is wheelchair accessible; lifts and ramps are available all the way through. Eating outlets are available around the area as well. Free restrooms are available next to the ticket booth.

Generally speaking quite good restaurant. Super helpful staff. Food is good but portions of some dishes are small - e.g. soups. Prices are fair comparing to other places in zakopane. 4/5 rating because of super small portions of soups.

honestly one of the best places i tried in zakopane. the vibes were really nice and traditional, the decoration and the whole atmosphere felt warm and local. we ordered soup and some traditional polish food, everything tasted really good and fresh what made the experience even better was gabriela, she was super kind and welcoming. she came from time to time to ask if we needed anything, and she explained the food and what’s inside it in a really nice way i actually asked for her name just to leave this review because she really deserves it totally recommend this place if ur visiting zakopane

We dropped by here in October when it was unexpectedly cold in Zakopane. The warmth atmosphere and service immediately made the cold go away~ we were served by a very attentive waiter called Bartek. The food portions are generous! We got the pork loin 'bacon' and deer ghoulash which was tender, juicy and absolutely perfectly seasoned. But the star for us was the white borscht - perfect for a cold day. Highly recommend you come here if you're in town!

This is an excellent highlander cuisine restaurant with beautiful decor, traditional music and absolutely delicious food, served by attentive and courteous staff. I highly recommend their pork ribs and grilled trout. I love their winter tea with various fruit, cloves, fresh ginger, honey and jam. Absolutely amazing place! Dziękujemy za gościnę i jadło!

This hobby restaurant is located halfway down the tourist Street in Zakopane. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the restaurant is decorated in old Polish style. They even have old Polish folk music playing in the background. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the food is good and the portions are big. I made the mistake of ordering the baked potato pancake with mushroom sauce. I didn’t really like it, and I returned it. It was my fault. I misread the menu. The duck pierogi, the beef burger, and the chicken soup were excellent. If we had more time, we would certainly return. I recommend this restaurant.

I visited Karczma Zapiecek in November, and it was absolutely wonderful! The interior is incredible – beautifully decorated with wood, giving it a cozy and authentic atmosphere. The staff were so kind, polite, and made me feel truly welcomed as a guest. The food was amazing — delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dining experience. Can’t wait to come back!

Very tasty and atmospheric place in a lovely Zakopane Service could be better but maybe it was just a start of the day so they were still sleeping a bit.

Decided to go here off a recommendation by our tour guide. The restaurant was definitely worth it. The oven roasted trout was great, however it is not deboned, and needed a little more salt. The potato I got was pretty big and came with a creamy rich sour cream. The salad was more of a coleslaw with shredded carrots and some cucumber. The restaurant was worth it, and was great value for myself and my wife.

The food flew out of the kitchen, I've never seen food being served to fast. They either have a huge number of staff in the kitchen or else everything is premade and heated per order and from the taste it must be the latter. Bland food and seems like they rush you in and out.

We came here last year and just had to return, as soon as we arrived, this year. A relaxed and mellow atmosphere, with warm, professional service. Traditional food served in a modern way and cooked to perfection. The mushroom sauce had amazing depth of flavour, I could have had that as a starter on its own! Slightly high prices than some local restaurants but well worth it for the extra quality, selection and service.

It was our very first day studying in Poland and we wanted to try traditional polish food and we gave to say we haven’t disappointed at all. Here you will find the best of Zakopane's traditions. Delicious dishes, each element of the restaurant's decor is an exquisite work of art, polish traditional live music melted our hearts and we are delighted for such a warm welcome to this country. The confectionery, located on the ground floor, offers a wide selection of delicious pastries.

This is one of the few times where literally reviews and photos guided me here. I have a good sense for restaurants but in a town like this which is super touristy it’s hard to sift through to the greats, but let me confirm again this is one of the greats! The decor is modern simple, exposed kitchen which is lovely filled with copper pans a tidy well dressed staff and clean work stations, the servers are easy going and friendly. The food was really top notch, we had the snails which were excellent and two steaks ribeye and filet both filled with flavor and two lovely sides. I left with a smile and want to come again and again. It’s that good.

The best restaurant in Poland I've vizited ever! Exceptionally delicious food, beautifully and thoughtfully presented dishes, superbly professional service, everything was very quick, on time, and with a sense of humor when needed. If a dish takes a while to prepare, you receive a compliment from the restaurant—in our case, it was their special black bread with a selection of delicious local vegetable oils, honey, and butter. The atmosphere is delightful, beautiful, cozy, clean—everything is simply top-notch! We were served by Marek and Jan—very polite and highly professional waiters who reminded us of the almost forgotten feeling of how respected this profession can be. We visited this restaurant with my family, and it's quite expensive, but the experience is absolutely worth it, and we are all very pleased to have truly enjoyed a high-class restaurant.

Had a nice dinner there, we had a plate of beef fillet and a plate of beef entrecotte. We also took a bottle of Italian red wine. The food was good, we enjoyed our dinner.

I was amazed by its simplicity and beauty — the wooden structure, built without a single nail, the hand-carved altar, and the folk-style decorations all felt so authentic. You can really feel the spirit of the Tatra highlanders here. Right behind the church is the historic cemetery, where many famous Polish artists, thinkers, and local legends are buried. Each grave is different, many of them with traditional wooden or stone markers, blending perfectly with the mountain atmosphere. I’m genuinely glad I visited this place. It’s peaceful, full of meaning, and gives you a strong connection to the roots of Zakopane. If you’re ever in the area, don’t miss it — it’s not just a sightseeing spot, it’s an experience.

All the wooden art in every single grave is impressive. This cemetery is a wonderful display of art, culture and faith, with every tomb having a special detail dedicated to honor those family members who have passed on. The beautiful backdrop of the mountains makes it even more beautiful.

Today I visited the Old Cemetery in Zakopane – also known as Stary Cmentarz na Pęksowym Brzyzku. It’s a really atmospheric and unique place, full of history and character. I saw the graves of some of the most famous people buried here, including legendary Polish figures like Tytus Chałubiński, Stanisław Witkiewicz, and Kazimierz Przerwa-Tetmajer. The tombstones are beautifully carved, often made of wood and stone, with a strong regional highlander style. The entrance fee is 3 złoty per person – not a big amount, although it’s a bit unusual to pay to enter a cemetery. If you're in town, it's definitely worth a visit – peaceful, moving, and full of soul.

Who tours Poland and visits a cemetery? You should. This is a beautiful, peaceful work of art. The graves are incredible. Landscaping is outstanding. What a wonderful way to honor those who have moved on.

This is a beautiful small Cemetery but I am glad to see others here had the same experience / opinion as me - I have never ever come across being charged to see a cemetery even in the most famous cemeteries of London and Paris. To make things worse I was so surprised I thought the man must be selling flowers for graves rather than entry fee. He was not wearing any uniform and did not look in any way official. When I asked him if he had identification (in case was a scam) he became very aggressive and cursed at us - I had to tell him to lower his voice as we are in a cemetery. It was shocking experience. As an international visitor to be shouted at in a cemetery is really scandalous

If you're passing by then it's a quick 10 min walk inside and you see some locally famous people buried there and some interesting looking graves. It's definitely not something major to come for on its own.

We arrived st the restaurant and we noticed that is it quite popular. Lots of people inside already. The chef is grilling meat right at the entrance so you can have a look. Very few restaurants are like that. The waitress told us to chose whatever table we wanted. The atmosphere of the restaurant feels like a chalet, all in wood. The ribs and the chicken salad was good. If you order a main dish you should order a side dish since the main dish is not a combo but just the main meat. I took fries and cabbages. Price is decent too. The service was good and recommend to try.

Agree with the other reviews here that the potato pancakes were pretty average - drenched in too much oil and not freshly made (you can see a whole stack sitting there, already heated, probably from the morning) so didn’t have the right texture. However, they were only 6 PLN so can’t complain too much 🤷🏻‍♀️

Good was lovely. Great display in the window to draw people in. Good selection of local brew. Try and sit outside by the river if you can, view is great. Service was quite poor. The waiter was slow and did not really want to be there looking after us at all. Only reason for not giving 5 stars.

This was my first visit to Czarny Staw, I was extremely impressed with the food - it was amazing and priced reasonably. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant with traditional music playing in the background. We were treated with a live band half way through our meal who were pretty awesome. Staff were extremely friendly! Highly worth a visit!

We went during low season and service was poor like they were doing a favor to you. Potato pancakes on the window for fast service look good,so we decided to ear inside, WORST decision we made has half of potato was burned and non-edible 3 dishes the same. For a “Potato House” it was very bad in general.

A Colorful Place, but No Way In - Walking past Be Happy Museum in Zakopane, we were instantly drawn to its vibrant, playful exterior. It looked like a fun and unique experience, full of bright colors and quirky installations—just the kind of lighthearted stop we were looking for. Excited to step inside, we approached the entrance, only to find out that the payment machine wasn’t working. Unfortunately, we didn’t have any cash on us, and there was no alternative way to pay. The staff was polite but couldn’t offer a solution, so we had to leave disappointed. It’s a shame because the place truly looks fantastic, and I can imagine it being a great spot for fun photos and a cheerful atmosphere. If you’re planning to visit, I’d recommend bringing cash just in case. Hopefully, we’ll get a chance to return and actually experience it next time!

Nice place if you need instagram or some social media content.The price is 45 zloty per person and i can recommend you come with some one else to take pictures of you or you have selfie stick or something like this. There is a place to put your coat and to leave your things so the experience would be much better. To be specified the place is located in the mall so you have to enter.

The Be Happy Museum was a fun and colorful experience, especially for the kids! They absolutely loved the ball pool, the infinity room, and the doll room. It’s a playful and creative space that’s perfect for taking fun photos. The whole visit takes about an hour, which was just right for us. There’s a nice little coffee shop right at the entrance where you also buy your tickets—great for a quick drink before or after the visit. However, the place was a bit warm inside, and unfortunately, there was no air conditioning when we visited. The staff were okay—not very welcoming, but they did their job. Overall, a nice stop for families with children looking for a light, fun activity in Zakopane.

3 stars only for the great idea. Definitely not worth its price, dirty and small, bad light for taking photos. Moreover the "swimming pool" with marshmallows is actually dangerous - the bottom of it should be soft, now kid can get trauma there easily.

Don't forget to plan a visit to this upside down world literally in the city centre. Poland has a few of them and they're super funny. Although walking with snow and ice mess inside was trouble but that's not on them. The ticket price was about 30pln which hasn't been updated online. Overall, a lovely fun place to visit and kids love it. Poland has a few more on the Baltic Coast.

Dom do gory is an upside down house and it is tilted as well! when a person enters the house, immediately feels deezy, and when climbs the stairs to uper level ( which is the floor), the person feels very very deezy!! I don't know the reason, is it physiology or physics?? But, it was a wonderful experience.

Rocky, slippery path, steep climb in places. Good shoes recommended. Beautiful view of the High Tatras and the city of Zakopane.

Great place for family tour, it takes 3 to 4 hours depending on your condition. Suitable for kids 8 plus. Parking is super small. You can park on the carpark located 1.6 km away and get the bus paid separately.

Beautiful viewpoint, not to long of a climb. Moderate trail, I’d recommend moving from Siklawica waterfall, easier to climb. Lots of people on trail.

To get there you will climb stairs for 1h, but view is amazing

Nice place to hike Not a complex one but could be challenging during windy weather conditions (especially on the top) The route from the parking to the waterfall Siklawica then to this place, took us around 2h (if you take some time to make photos and rest). Otherwise it could be 1.5 h. Then you can go back but use another route via the second waterfall called Sarni (the route is a little bit longer but I think it is more beautiful) . Overall it took us 4.5h to return to the parking lot

Beautiful path and landscapes. The route is very varied: easy walking, hikimg, hard walking, and climbing. On the route there are more resting point with wooden bench, so you can sit down and take a breath. From the top of the hill the view is amazing. It's worth to hiking up there.

Stunning hike, not mild though, it's Tatry after all, but well worth it. We also saw a bear which was incredible. Make sure to eat lunch at Murowaniec in Dolina Gąsienicowa because they have great food. Altogether it took us 6h with lunch break to do the whole thing

Overall pretty good hike totalling 7 hours. I started hiking around 11 (on 26 May), weather was pleasant throughout the hike, it began raining when I was on snowy paths, thank god I had spikes & was dressed in layers.

Beautiful lake in the mountains

This place can be crowded with a lot of tourist but you can find some quiet place to rest if you want near by lake.

Really a must-visit place for everyone who likes Tatry and hiking. Very beautiful lake and overall this is a great trail

It was sad that the weather was foggy, so we did not have the best view, but anyway....definitely worth a visit just plan your way back, we decided to go to the right path/up on the hill. It was hard (steep) but later we cross other lakes. Very nice.

Went for a hike in rainy weather. The trail gets muddy at times and the rocks are slippery. It was also foggy, so couldn't see the scereny at it's best. Otherwise nice and quite easy hike. We saw only one resting are with one table.

Did a circuit hike from Jaszczurówka to Wielki Kopieniec to Toprowa Cyrhla. It seems steeper from Jaszczurówka going up, but I enjoyed the short workout! It's also not crowded on a Tue 12-2pm. I took about 2h 15mins (which was faster than what the signage and direction suggested) and it's about 6km. Could be longer if I go slower. Trail was also well paved and with clear signage. Trekking poles were not necessary but I did see older folks with them. Took Bus 11 from Zakopane there and back and they are super near the trail start/ end. Bus tickets (PLN 6 one way) can be bought at ticket machines at bus stops or on the bus. Credit card payment accepted. Google maps work accurately when navigating. However, the frequency of Bus 11 could be 30mins to 1h, so perhaps it's possible to flag down and board any of the private vans/ buses heading to "zakopane". Park entrance fees at PLN 11, credit card payment accepted too.

It’s was amazing. A way to the mountain has a lot of stones, they are really sharp, it will be better has special boots. The last 10 meters were really hard, because you should go up a very steep mountain, but the view on the top is stunning, must visit everyone

Once you get to the top, it takes a bit of conditioning, but it's no big deal, you can sit and sit and enjoy the beautiful views.

Nice illusion park in the centre of Zakopane. It was a rainy day and lots of people inside, but didn't felt crowded. Lots of interesting things to do and places to take lots of pics. Highly recommended. They give you locker and have to place bags there, walkaround without shoes, with socks.

Awesome place to go with the kids. Tickets are quite cheap and time is not limited. There are two floors of illusion displays. We spent two hours in here. Kids loved it. Its not only illusions, its also associated with science. So really recommend, nice place.

It was a great experience overall, with lots of fascinating exhibits and interactive elements. There are plenty of opportunities to take really creative and fun photos, which makes the visit even more enjoyable. We spent around 2 hours exploring everything, which felt just right. One thing to keep in mind: it can get very crowded on rainy days, so if possible, plan your visit accordingly. Overall: A fun and photo‑friendly attraction that’s well worth a visit—just try to go when it’s less busy for the best experience.

For this price we have expected something more and better. Maybe some kids could have fun but please consider entrance here. Nothing spectacular.

One of the best illusion parks I’ve ever been! We spend more than an hour and had a lot of fun! Exciting and educational place for kids and adults

Would be a decent place to take children who are interested in fish, but be warned it is quite small and not too interesting for adults unless you're really passionate about fish. The aquarium is nicely decorated and some of the tanks are quite cool, but it was a little underwhelming overall. Also the toilets definitely need some work as the female toilets smelt strongly of urine.

The fish and animals are interesting but its over priced ($20) for 2 kids 2 adults and they said it takes 30 minutes to have a look the whole thing but it took us only 15 minutes for whole tour. The whole place was short and small. Do not waste your money!

It was quiet dissapointing, I had higher expectations. Parking is only available on the other side of the busy road, and the spaces are limited. There is a pedestrian crossing so safe crossing is available with children. The place is accessible for the disabled (not the end of the exhibition, because there are stairs) but not the impaired. There is no audiobook for the animals, and no English translations, only polish. The state of the toilet is dissapointing, there was a chart, that showed it is cleaned everyday, but I doubt that, considering it is not a busy place to build up this much of dirt and dust in one day. The animals are kept in very small tanks. For small fish it might be suitable, but there were lots of large fishes, who could not turn properly in their tank. In the end it was a pleasant experience, suitable for a rainy day, where nothing else could be done. Tickets can be bought online. For it's price it could be better.

I am highly disappointed. I was expecting to see various fishes and other water animals in good arranged scenery. Unfortunately, place is done at cost. There are only several types of fishes. Aquariums are almost not decorated - few stones, necessary devices and food - that’s all. Some of them are quite dirty. Place is expensive taking into account value for money. I was expecting a guide who will tell my children some exciting facts or stories but I only heard I should call earlier if I wanted guide. Price, of course, didn’t change - paid 59 PLN for... 15-25 minutes? In e.g. Wrocław you will see much more and can spend whole day for slightly higher price. I feel I wasted time and money.

Nice small aquarium. Perfect place to visit with children's in case of bad weather.

Great ski slope for more than beginners. They did have a small slope for beginners but wasn't very big and full of children. Would say you need to be comfortable turning to make the most of this slope. The views are incredible even if you aren't skiing and you can walk into the larger ski lift and enjoy the mountain views.

Probably should have done my research first, two ski lifts two runs, the lifts are quick and need to be. The lift on the left trashed you to a restaurant at the top of the highest run, lovely view of the mountains from here. The longer of the two runs is over in about 5 minutes allowing time for ski schools left to right. That's it, the lifts do not connect to any other areas. Each area has a few runs then you have to taxi to somewhere new.

Slopes in good conditions even though the weather is warm. The view on the top is great! Minus is that it is absolutely over crowded - very sad that lifts were going up half seated!!! Further extended the time spent in line...

The slopes themselves were both good. An easier one and a more challenging one. However, they ran the snow making machines the entire day! It made too much snow actually and people were falling often because it was too deep at the steepest part. Made no sense to us because it was also snowing. It was unpleasant to have to ski through blowing snow so much of the day. That said, the staff was incredibly attentive and efficient. And the restaurant at the top is excellent and affordable.

The ski resort is fine for beginners, but there are some significant drawbacks. The biggest issue is the long waiting times at the lifts – with only two lifts available, you often end up waiting 10 to 15 minutes, which is something we’re no longer accustomed to after skiing in the Alps. At the top of the mountain, there’s a good selection of restaurants and snack bars, offering both smaller and more substantial meals. However, overall, we found the resort too small and lacking in variety. A major downside is the traffic chaos caused by nearly everyone arriving by car. A more consistent implementation of ski buses could greatly alleviate the situation.

A well-maintained ski slope with parking available alongside the road for free, or city parking lot right across the street. Mornings offer the best conditions before it gets bumpy, and lift lines start forming around noon. Arrive early for a smoother ride and a more enjoyable experience! :) 4/5

Great place for beginners and to learn how to ski, although the snow was not very good because of the weather - it was +3 There are instructors available for 200 zl per hour per child + 80 zl for an adult if you are together with a child - you can find English speaking ones, or Russian/Ukrainian speaking ones, too, just ask about it when paying at the ticket office. You don't need to have a pass if you're with instructor. Be aware that they also don't mix very small children with older ones, so if you have, for example, a 3 year old and a 10 year old, you need 2 instructors, but 13 and 17 can have 1 instructor for both. You will also see sunset well, so that's a plus in the dark Poland when the sun sets at 3 pm There's a food place at the base of the hill with decent food and restroom, and you can rent everything you need at any of the places nearby. Highly recommend the J&J one across the road - 200 zl for equipment for a family of 4 for 3 hours with great service! Parking available for free with lots of free places, but it may get busy at the very peak times and on the weekends, as always Update: the red slope is not as hard as it looks like in good conditions, apart from one part it's about as steep as the blue slope. However, I agree with other reviews about the conditions on the slope - at 12 pm there were already numerous (!) ice parts, the snow was not even remotely even with crazy amount of snow bumps, and since it's artificial, it wasn't perfect to begin with. So a fairly easy slope became a quite hard one. A lot of people fell on the steepest part. If you want to try yourself, you should definitely know how to parallel ski first, be fresh and full of energy, and only go at the very early morning, 9-11 am. Sadly that seems to be the fate of big enough ski resorts, so just something to be aware of. But all in all it's not crazy hard - it barely made it to the red marking, one grade down (it's 21% average and the red starts at 20%) and it would be a blue. Again, in good conditions! That's what's tricky about it.

A beautiful trail along a mountain river. You have to climb quite a bit of rocks to get to the waterfall. If you are planning a trip with a stroller, you will only be able to cover half of the trail with it.

Wonderful easy hike for families and something more for adventurers :) There is usually a small place close to the waterfall, where you can buy warm tea/coffee and something small to eat. It's pricey but for a place without electricity 🔌 fully understable. It's worth to see.

Amazing trail in Tatra mountains, almost accessible by troller, only last couple of minutes to the waterfall need to carry our child on hands. Nice hut to buy snacks, beer and soup. We were family of five and had unforgettable experience!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The trail to the Five Polish Ponds Valley is definitely demanding – not for beginners or flip-flops 😅 – but absolutely worth the effort. The views at the top are breathtaking and incredibly rewarding. Crystal-clear water, dramatic mountain scenery, and a peaceful atmosphere once you’re there. One of the most beautiful places I’ve visited in the Tatra Mountains. Highly recommended if you’re ready for a proper hike!

One of the most beautiful valleys in the heart of Tatra's. The pristine lakes are breathtakingly beautiful and the experience of staying overnight at PTTK shelter was amazing. With a dedicated cafe and hot shower we were impressed by the prompt services it offered. Did a Circuit trek from Morskie Oko - Dolina Pięciu Stawów (Valley of Five lakes) - Wielka Siklawa (waterfall).

Beautiful and quite easy trek if you are fit. Really worthy. Be careful it can rain quite strong and becomes then a bit more difficult. Take a wet proof poncho even if the sun is shining when you start.

I visited here in August so the height of summer and the views are absolutely sensational. If you go to the top there is a view of all 3 lakes and it is genuinely 1 of the most stunning views I have ever seen. It's busy but much much less crowded than Morskie Oko and frankly it's more impressive. if you visit here during summer come to this part.

The Białego Valley (Dolina Białego) in Zakopane is one of my favorite spots in the Tatra Mountains, and I’ve been there many times. It’s a peaceful, scenic trail that runs alongside a clear mountain stream, creating a soothing, relaxing atmosphere throughout the entire walk. The sound of the rushing water is your constant companion, and it adds a calming background to the beautiful surroundings. Although it’s a relatively short and pleasant route, it’s not suitable for strollers—even lightweight or sporty ones. The path is narrow, with uneven rocky sections and wooden footbridges, which makes it impossible to push a pram. If you're visiting with a baby, like I did recently, you’ll definitely need a baby carrier. I used one on this trip, and it made the whole experience enjoyable and manageable. Despite the trail’s limitations in terms of accessibility, it remains one of the most charming valleys around Zakopane. It's never too crowded, and the feeling of walking close to nature, following the stream through the forested gorge, is truly special.

Gorgeous hiking trail to walk through, full of valleys, waterfalls, bridges and a river which you walk right next to. The trail leads right up to the mountain top, where you can sit on the benches and rest, while you look around.

The park is beautiful and the waterfall at the end is breathtaking. The views are outstanding. Well worth the park fee which is peanuts but but helps keep these locations thriving!

Perfect outdoor activity. Even with average weather, the views are amazing. Ensure you are equipped with good shoes as the path and landscape changes from plain to rocky to steep quite often. Even if you GPS tells you it's a quick stroll, plan a day as you might be too tired to do anything afterwards (else than eating). Start from Dolina Białego go to Sarna Skała then back to Zakopane through Dolina Strążyska... Unforgettable experience. Ensure your cameras and spare batteries are fully charged too :)

A very beautiful hike but beware - if you go too early in the summer (we went at the end of May when it was 21⁰C) you won't be able to get over the mountain to the lakes easily via the green or black routes. We were told this would be a very easy hike and it was wonderful to begin with (following the green route up to the lakes) but then we couldn't get over the mountains because it was covered in snow and ice. You should be advised this when entering the park. You need crampons and walking sticks ideally. We were very sad we couldn't make it to the lakes. We wish we'd known this route was inaccessible for the casual hiker.

A great reward after a long hike, I wasn't even mad it started raining shortly after. The trails are all prepared veeeery well, and the hike is possible even with not so good weather. We came with a couple of friends looking for a nice place to have a drink and a good time, when we approached the place, at the entrance there were four security men, they started staring at us from the bottom to the top with a contemptuous look, after that I didn't even bother to go inside. People!!! we are in the 21st century in a cosmopolitan world, such behaviors are medieval.

It was a terrible experience. I was with my friend and security said that he can’t enter with “pants like that”. I never saw or heard anything like this any other place in any country. It’s 2025 outside, how is it even possible. Really shit place. And by the way other “stylish folks” in there were wearing skinny jeans.

A great find! This very comfortable well located hotel apartment was good value with a great room! Perfect little kitchenette for cooking and refreshments. The location just off the Main Street is amazing and meant that we could access transport, pubs and other attractions easily without needing a car.

Few disappointing details about the room - for example very small uncomfortable pillows and 150 pln payment for cleaning the room on check in, though there were someone’s used eye lenses on the bed stand. Curtains holder fell on my friend’s head when she tried to open them. Breakfast was ok, only omlet overfried, didn’t eat even half. Nice to go to sauna in SPA after hiking, but the pool is quite cold. No towels in the spa - written that you can ask for them on reception, which is uncomfortable if you didn’t know about it in advance. They could put 1 extra towel for each for the spa, or at teast ask if we needed them. And charging 150 pln for cleaning while having rubbish from previous guests is offensive.

Great aparthotel on the main walking street. Rooms look brand new and are great. All rooms have all the cooking facilities. Spa is open 2pm-10pm.

Unfortunately this ended up being the worst hotel experience we ever had. We booked an apartment room for three people and it was extremely tiny, has NO air conditioning during the summer which made it completely unsuitable and unbearable. On top of that there was no customer service and we had to get another hotel and just eat the cost.

Rooms are clean and well stocked with towels and bedding. The apartment definitely looked bigger in the photos. Would be extremely helpful if the kitchen was stocked with basics on arrival, tea, coffee, milk, snacks etc. I would be happy to pay extra for these types of items to be supplied. Enjoyed the swimming pool steam room and sauna, all very nice to use. Some of the staff were really helpful at the hotel. Hotel instructions and information on more detail would be really helpful and some channels in English would be great. Overall had a good stay.

Great hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Spa was immaculate clean. I had a massage too it was one of the best I’ve had. The only thing I can recommend for upgrade is the Internet connection. We had perfect WiFi coverage in the room but the Internet connection dropped off many times and it was generally very slow. The bar was open until 1am so it was not a problem to have a few beers before we go to the bed. I can recommend this place.

Pretty much a tourist trap, not a real club. Music is the most generic pop possible. Guests are mostly middle aged man, barely any women. They apparently consider the club to be "prestige" place but it is really not - that would require staff culture on completely other level. It's like your alcoholic uncle having a glow up makeover - looks kind of okayish but is still who he is. I know there is not much choice in Zakopane but seriously, avoid this one.

Overall great experience. The negative part: we had the reservation and planned to arrive about 15 min in advance. Was locked outside and nobody answer our repeated phone call. That was a bit sad experience since it was cold and dark outside. The VIP beer spa I recommend. We have about 6 different beers to try and two bottles of Greek wine. It was very awesome. Bathtub is enough for two people to fit in, however the resting place is strangely on the other hand, very tiny.

If you want to enjoy the beauty of Tatra mountains, mountain river, waterfall, lakes, rocks, stone piles, I recommend this route - Morskoe oko parking lot (after 45min) to the right green trail 5 lakes valley - Siklawa waterfall - (continue straight) to the bridge by the lake - continue left on the blue trail to Morskoe oko. The walk is difficult but very beautiful. We got down late, but the bus was still 21 howling with people.

If you are looking for a bit challenging hike, I definitely recommend to check out this one. Throughout the whole way I was surrounded by beautiful landscapes, flowers and even little waterfalls. When you reach the destination you may want to cool down with a cold beer near the lake watching ducks swim by. Take a pair of good shoes and some water

One the most beautiful places I've ever visited. Stunning views everywhere, from beautiful peaceful lakes to tall snowy mountain peaks absolutely breathtaking place. It's totally worth the hike and the fact that you have a mountain house right there serving everything from warm meals to cold beers makes it even more convenient.

So far, probably my favourite route in Tatras. The ascend was quite steep and I would recommend to either take your time with it and take plenty of stops if you’re a beginner. But the views are definitely worth it. Another good thing – the track is not too crowded. There is a safehouse on the spot with a tourist hotel, cafe, grill spot and toilets. Also, if you collect PTTK stamps, you can get them there too.

Clean. Good shower. Good bed. This hostel is the best! It’s run by volunteers who are also fellow travelers and they are awesome. Everyone sits around the campfire or lounge room each night for dinner and the vibes are unmatched. Same for breakfast in the mornings. Honestly my best hostel experience so far.

Coming to Zakopane from Taiwan involved many decisions — booking flights, trains, and accommodations. Among all these choices, staying at Good Bye Lenin Hostel was the best decision I made. The staff and guests here are all very friendly and courteous. The staff, in particular, are always happy to help — especially when it comes to providing information about hiking, buses, and nearby supermarkets. To say I loved this place would be a criminal understatement. I visited with 6 other friends and I couldn't be more happy that we chose this hostel. We booked the 8-person dorm with private bathroom. It was a simple but nice room right next to the hostel's entrance. The people staying here were very social and we talked to each other for hours. It felt like a second home. Every night, there were activities and sometimes food (movie night, Pierogi). I want to thank the owner, volunteers and my friends for the best trip of my life :) Also, the smell people talk about is not a bad one and it just appears sometimes, no idea how, haha.

Hostel is in a great location and is only a few minutes walk to the start of a trail, with a couple others about 15 mins walk away. There are nice restaurants and cafes nearby and is right next to the bus stops that will take you into town or to start the morskie oko trail. Hostel was warm as well which was nice given the freezing temperatures and the living room is a nice vibe, where you can hang out with staff and other guests. Only downsides were that there were only two toilets for the whole hostel which can be quite difficult when everyone is getting ready to go out / has arrived back at the same times. All the staff were very nice but some didn't seem too bothered about helping out as much, one member kept on telling people to take a bed which someone was already sleeping in in our room and would then quickly disappear. Also had to make your own bed up, which is fine but annoying when guests come in late at night and have to do this - have never been in a hostel where this is the case

Had such an amazing time at the hostel, so so welcoming and allowed us to store our luggage there which we collected after our hike. Even then offered us food, drinks, showers despite us already being checked out, they really go above and beyond. Fantastic location too for the hiking in which the staff would be more than happy to help plan out routes, etc. with you, there's also equipment like hiking boots available for rent at a cheap price.

The ride to Zakopane is really nice, all mountains and nature. The skiing center is cool and the village has several coffee shops and restaurants.. but what I really, utterly enjoyed was the spa! That was so amazing, one of the best I've ever been! Book an organized tour from Krakow, definitely worth to spend one day here!

Not recommended if you don't want to risk catching something because they pack all people in a single crowded room that has no hangers for coats(you leave them on the bench) and no ventilation(all the windows are closed). Pretty hot inside and these conditions are hard to bear in winter clothes. The overall show is quite long because every child is trying to mix cheese and pose for pictures. The story they tell about cheese is quite interesting so if it wasn't for conditions it could be a five star feedback.
