No.6 The Square Tearooms & Accommodation is a charming guesthouse located in the heart of Buxton, Derbyshire. It offers vintage-chic quarters and a delicious breakfast, set above a Regency tearoom. Situated in a picturesque square, it provides a welcoming atmosphere for visitors to relax and enjoy delightful afternoon tea. The tearoom serves morning coffee, light meals, and traditional English afternoon tea using locally-produced ingredients.
We stayed for one night. A beautiful hotel in a great location, across from pavilion gardens walking distance from the station and parking direct outside. Well appointed and furnished rooms, and friendly, helpful staff. We had breakfast in the restaurant and highly recommend for breakfast or lunch if you're in Buxton.

Lovely place for a lunch and cuppa. The Derbyshire oatcakes are scrumptious! Thank you to all the staff for making our time here such a pleasant one.

We had our wedding reception at No.6 this weekend. It was absolutely fantastic, ran like clockwork and the team here are so lovely, welcoming and professional. The venue is stunning, and really showcases the unique heritage of Buxton in the beautiful High-Peak of North Derbyshire. The catering was out of this world and was exactly what we’d hoped it would be and more. Our guests were raving about the whole event - it was perfect!! We would recommend ‘No.6 The Tearooms’ to anyone who is looking for an intimate venue in a beautiful setting, any day of the week. We will be back to celebrate an anniversary without any doubt. Thanks!!

Friendly staff and well organised. Good quality food with a brilliant selection of cakes. Plenty of seating and facilities clean. This was our first visit, we will be back.

I had hoped, after having travelled many miles, and booking well in advance, that afternoon tea would have been a lovely precursor to a show at the Opera House. Unfortunately it was not. There are 3 areas in the restaurant: a lovely lounge area, a cosy more rural themed area and the service area, where staff are coming back and forth and people pay at the till in front of the counter. On arrival I was seated in the service area. Someone really needs to get the staff to understand that afternoon tea is an experience not just food. That's why you pay more!!!!. However, after being relocated tea was brought out. The sandwiches were too thickly filled and had one half white bread and one half brown. It didn't taste right and staff should ask which is preferable. Then the Scones...just awful. I couldn't eat mine. So big, but dense, salty and dry. It was like eating a lump of brown bread with jam and cream. If it wasn't for the raisins I would have mistaken them for that. The cakes were nice, but only one pavlova and there were two of us. I would have reflected all this back, but no-one came to ask us if everything was ok. It was a busy day but that is no excuse. I still had to pay £54, not value for money and will not be back or be recommending.

Lovely place to eat,and very nice interior with different tea pots around the room. Food was very nice. Portion for the sandiwch and quiche was nice. Jacket potatoe found was a tad small compared to a normal jacket potatoe but everything still.tasted well and service is great. The dessert so many to choose from but the lemon cake and the choclate torte and freshly made scone and clotted cream was amazing. Would recommend

Guest house
Nestled just outside the charming town of Buxton, Hawthorn Farm Guest House is a delightful B&B that perfectly blends rural serenity with easy access to urban attractions. This historic establishment, dating back to the 1580s and housed in a Grade II listed building, offers guests comfortable accommodations in both the main house and converted farm buildings. Visitors rave about its peaceful ambiance, making it an ideal retreat for restful nights after exploring local highlights like the opera house or enjoying scenic walks in the Peak District.
We stayed for one night while visiting the Peak District. Paul & Sarah were such lovely hosts, very attentive and welcoming. The room was lovely & comfortable, and the shower was really nice! Breakfast was beautiful, I had the fresh fruit & natural Greek yoghurt followed by a bacon & egg sandwich, set me up very well for a full day walking around the peaks. We would love to come back and spend more time here for sure!

Super lovely, full of character, friendly knowledgeable hosts who made our children feel welcomed. Lovely little gardens for us to enjoy. Vegan breakfast was amazing (let them know in advance as they're a small business), with cooked options, all the milks, butter etc, everything cooked in olive oil. Would happily stay again.

Lovely room with everything you could need. Breakfast was lovely I had muesli and yoghurt and cooked breakfast with tea and fruit juice you could tell it was cooked freshly. The bathroom had nice products for us to use. Really nice room ideally situated would like to visit in the summer

If you are planning to stay in Buxton look no further and stay here with Paul and Sarah. This is a wonderful place to be based whilst enjoying Buxton. The rooms are beautifully decorated and full of history (dating back to 1580 in some places!) - the breakfast the following morning is done with care and attention to making sure you have the freshest ingredients. It’s an incredibly lovely place. Don’t bother looking at any other place - I’ve stayed in plenty of the surrounding guest houses and hotels and Hawthorn farm is a comfortable head and shoulders above the rest.
Helen H — Google review
Fantastic stay. Room was lovely, spacious and clean. The hosts were very friendly, knowledgeable and accomodating. They were able to provide hypo-allergenic bedding and were accommodating of dietary requirements. Beautiful old building within walking distance of town. Definitely recommend a stay here! The breakfast was as good as everyone says!
Jessica B — Google review
We had a lovely 4 night stay here and even though we were a little early Paul could accommodate us as our room was ready. Paul was warm and friendly on arrival and both he and Sarah were excellent hosts. We were so interested in listening to Paul relate the history of Hawthorn Farm. Our room was clean and cosy and very well appointed with easy on-site parking. A delicious breakfast each morning with a great choice. Sitting in the breakfast room in the main house you could feel the history of the house. If only the walls could talk. Hawthorn Farm is located a short drive to the city centre of Buxton and close to a couple of pubs for dinner. Can thoroughly recommend the Sunday carvery at the Railway Hotel. It is also a good location to visit surrounding areas and places of interest. We were visiting from Australia and our stay was certainly one of the highlights of our trip and have no hesitation in recommending. We wish Paul and Sarah all the best for their future endeavours.

We recently had The Cafe at Green Pavilion do the catering for our daughter's 21st party. I cannot recommend them highly enough. The food was outstanding, all homemade and beautifully fresh. There was a great variety of choice, including vegetarian and vegan options. The delivery, set up and presentation was first class. All our guests commented on the food. It literally made the event perfect. Thank you Jo and Simon and everyone at the cafe who worked so hard to make everything perfect.

Came for brunch and a nice coffee. Love the atmosphere and comfy sofa. We missed the breakfast by about 20 mins so selected from their lunch menu instead. We ordered burger and lamb burger. They were both a bit on the dry side although the patties were thick and obviously hand made, which is a plus point. Now, their salads. Fantastic! Homemade, really tasty and generous in the servings.
Anne L — Google review
A great lunch spot recommended by two local ladies. I sat at the window stools looking out at the gorgeous park and ate a terrific mushroom sandwich with chips and a rocket salad (arugula for you US folks.) Lovely lunch and affordable.
Jan — Google review
Wonderful sandwiches! I had mushroom, vegan cheese and pesto on brown bread and I can honestly say that it was easily one of the most delicious sandwiches I've ever had. A big shout-out to the young chefs as this really was made with care and tasty flair! Brilliant! The customer service was outstanding too and our dog in a buggy was able to come in and be parked up with us! The table service was fantastic to have and all staff were knowledgeable, friendly and professional. A huge thank you to you all!

Ladies and gentlemen I produce you exhibit A - Eggs Royale. The food was very pricy for the quality of the foods that was given. The eggs royale was was not quite as I expected it. Usually it should come with muffins however, this one had 2 slices of bread that was of basic quality that you would find in supermarket. The sausage was also of low quality and was not even cut when placed in the ciabatta. It had only one egg which again was not of farm quality. The ciabatta was not toasted. On the other hand coffee was very good! I am not mad but just disappointed with the quality and price ratio of the food. I most likely won’t be returning again. Cameron was happy though.

This has to go down as one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever eaten. Really great to see someone put so much thought into the make up of a vegan breakfast. You could really tell that the food was home made. Sadly I was only in Buxton for one day but I will definitely return.

Lovely little atmospheric cafe near the centre of Buxton. Very friendly and helpful staff. The cake portions were huge and very tasty. Also dog friendly, so didn’t have to sit outside in the rain. Highly recommended 👍

We popped in for Thursday curry night and it didn't disappoint. The lady who served me who i think may have been a manager was brilliant, she was on the ball with serving me and putting my order through, and i could tell she was working hard because didn't stop rushing around. The food came out in super quick time. Toilets were clean. I would definitely return to this whetherspoons.

Called in for some tea after a busy shopping trip!...Beer garden was lovely (as it was sunny) the Wye Bridge a nice clean and tidy 'Spoons' food was good, staff friendly and served us quickly as we ordered from the App. It was our first trip to Buxton and I'm sure we'll be back again very soon.
Garffey — Google review
Reasonably priced breakfast and quick service. My only problem was the toast was cold. The toilets looked clean and i enjoyed the decor, in particular the gin bottles with flowers on in the outdoor tables felt nice and quirky. Would go back, just wish for warmer food on my next visit!

Go there most weekends when the weathers good on my bike, Food is sometimes good and sometimes not so good. Same with the staff sometimes Good sometimes not so good. They are polite but there seems to be something missing. A smile wouldn’t go a miss. But yeah i would recommend it’s a good stopping point for the Bikers. Good coffee also 👍
KTM M — Google review
Came here on Good Friday with people from work. Place was heaving as you would expect. We were pleasantly surprised how fast the food came out. My pizza was a little underdone, but I didn't get unwell, so that's fine. Lots of rowdy drunk blokes at noon around the bar, screaming and chanting. Thought a member of staff might have said something, but I could tell they were all really stressed out at how busy it was, and I, of course, don't blame them. It was cheap and cheerful, really, but it was a decent experience. No car park on site, but if you arrive early, there are a few car parks in Buxton a few minutes walk away. I would return!
Liam A — Google review
Can’t fault this place at all. Staff are lovely and helpful. Especially the manager. The food was spot on every time. We tried breakfast, lunch and dinner over the few days we were there. The freedom breakfast is so good value for money and really nice. The kids loved their food each time. The service was fast and the location is lovely with a park next to the pub. Refill on the coffee was very nice too!

GLUTEN FREE ALE ON TAP absolutely brilliant. I'm coeliac and I rarely get this. My husband doesn't need it but he couldn't tell the difference and loved it too. He said as an IPA he would drink it all day long and not even know. Well done spoons I've only been able to enjoy this in Edinburgh x

The Yondermann cafe is a longstanding establishment in Wardlow Mires, Wardlow, Buxton with delicious hot chocolate and an extensive menu. The service was quick and the staff were all excellent. The breakfast had was also very good. Lots of parking and clean toilets are available. Plenty of seating outside is also available.
Stopped here to grab a fry up after a night of camping and to fuel up before climbing, and was not disappointed, the fry up was fantastic and gave me the option to adjust my dish without trouble, filtered coffee included was fantastic. I hardly ever leave a review, but a good fry up deserves one. Recommend to travelers passing through.

Visited the youndermann for breakfast, got a small youndermann breakfast. Everything was really good, the mushrooms and the oatcake were not my favourite but thats just personal preference 🙂 this breakfast comes with a choice of tea or coffee. Beautiful scenery if you sit outside, overall lovely place to visit. It is out of the way, but is definitely worth a visit.

Lovely ride out to the Yonderman last weekend. Breakfast was perfect however the coffee was horrendous. Tasted like dirty dishwater. Got it changed and it was no different so went and got an orange juice instead. Just bear that in mind.

Sacro Lounge is a fantastic place to eat, with a good range of food that's reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the place has a great vibe. It's perfect for families or friends to have a meal together.
Clan was out and about in this area and stopped here for food. Vegetarian and vegan options were amazing so the orders began. The service was wonderful. We were seen to our table and the one child with us was given a kids menu that they could draw and colour in to keep them entertained. It was pretty busy so I expected some delays in the food yet it arrived quickly. The food was amazing. In fact it was so good I ordered more and that arrived just as promptly. The lady servicing us was so helpful and would advise on food and drinks. Desserts were lovely too and everyone left with full bellies as there was something for everyone and all due credit to the kitchen team, it came out pretty fast and was delicious. Will definitely be back here when I'm in the area again. Enjoy.

I love local restaurants in Buxton, but I love this Sacro too. Staff is amazing, food is great especially when you go with kids - meals are cheap, fresh! It would be lovely to invest and buy a few toys for kids like jigsaws or small one to play at the table. We are visiting Sacro very often and I cannot say any bad word about this place!
Jagg — Google review
Such a lovely place. Really nice inside, our server was lovely. Didn't catch a name but for having only been working there 2 weeks we was really impressed. She went over our order carefully 3 times to make sure it was all correct due to our little girl having coeliacs disease. Food was 10/10. Such a shame we dont have one in Norwich.

Been in Sacro a few times and always enjoyed the food. Plenty of seating spaces available, great selection of drinks, food can be ordered via QR code which is very convenient.

We visit here every time we are in the area, and it is always brilliant! Lovely setting, staff are wonderful and food is incredible! Between us we had a couple of burgers (the diablo smash burger was great), a brunch and the pasta (pictured). Good variety of drinks and although we didn't have allergies, it seemed that these would be well catered for. The menu was clearly laid out for different diets too.

Great food, with a very interesting selection of offerings. Nice feel to the place. Delicious sausages all at a good price. I had a full English

Fantastic, cosy place to eat. The cottage pie was delicious and the sausages were some of the best we’ve had. We took some carrot cake home, very tasty. Lovely, friendly people and a great place to enjoy a quick meal.

The Best full English I've ever had! We went in on Saturday morning for something to set us up for the day and were not disappointed. The owner served us and was really friendly. I had a delicious mocha and a full English, my partner had a latte and full English, the food came out very hot and cooked to perfection. I ordered a sandwich and drink to takeaway for my dinner, yet to report on that but I'm sure it'll be as delicious as everything else. I think we've found our regular breakfast place, can't wait to go back!

Popped in for a snack/brunch both of us had sausage cobs and tea, both hit the spot beautifully. Not much room to eat in but we were lucky. While we were eating there was a steady stream of mostly locals and we saw a diverse selection of things chosen. I feel its always a good sign when the locals clearly go in regularly. Large choice of delicious looking food freshly cooked. Shame we don't live nearer or id be a regular too.

Located in Matlock, just 20 miles from Buxton, The Vault at The Heights of Abraham offers a unique alpine-style cable car experience. Visitors can enjoy the fantastic food and warm ambience with excellent customer service. Whether it's the braised beef on the festive menu or a simple coffee and bacon cob, guests are sure to have a delightful dining experience. Went out for the day in Buxton. A local person recommended The Vault stating how good their meals were. I had Braised Beef with mash and vegetables. Excellent tasty meal. My husband had Pie of the day with amazing chips and vegetables. Excellent. Definitely recommend. We will go again. Also the table service was excellent. A good all rounder.

Went in yesterday with my wife, we both had the pulled pork cheese burger. I am gluten free so they pointed out couldn't guarantee the chips not 100% gluten free. I was happy with that and appreciated the honesty. Got to say both meals were fantastic, also the young lady who dealt with us was brilliant. Sorry didn't get her name but partner in the place. Also have to comment great choice of music playing, I would recommend this place all day long!

Absolutely amazing, lovely rooms! Great for an overnight stay. No problems whatsoever as we had what we needed. Just be aware though, it’s just the basics , so no hair dryer or iron which we were aware of, but one resident didn’t read her email and thought her room would be fully equipped! These rooms are above the pub, but ear plugs are provided upon entering your room. Staff at The Vault Pub were lovely, but they are nothing to do with the rooms. Only a 5minute walk to the town centre (which is a big bonus). Will definitely be staying here again when we visit Buxton

Fantastic pub, great food and kind staff. We arrived close to kitchen closing time but the staff were super welcoming and had no problems with us arriving a little later than the usual dinner service. Food was excellent and portions were generous. Overall a great experience.

Very modern, clean accommodation and would highly recommend for a mid week stay. However, we stayed on Saturday night and didn't get any sleep. It does warn when booking about the bar below staying open until 3am, but it makes no mention of the boy racers on motorbikes and car's with massive exhausts, zooming past until 4am at least!
Dani S — Google review
But further up into the main high street of Buxton town centre. Felt a little like it hadn't been kept on top of since opening, clean but could be cleaner. Chandeliers were nice but needed the one over, sticky table tops. It feels upcycled, which isn't a bad thing. Had a couple of cocktails which were OK. Syrups an no skills kind of cocktails but priced as if they were made properly. Not bad staff were very friendly.

Whether you're craving a classic Full English or looking for gluten-free, vegan, or vegetarian alternatives, there's something to satisfy every palate. The atmosphere at Noonology is inviting and relaxing, making it the perfect place to unwind while enjoying fabulous cocktails throughout the day.
We recently had the pleasure of dining at Noonology in Buxton, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by the warm and welcoming staff who immediately made us feel at home. The atmosphere was delightful, with lovely colors and a relaxing vibe that perfectly set the tone for our meal. But the real highlight was the food – absolutely amazing! Each plate was bursting with flavours and beautifully presented, Without a doubt, we will be returning to Noonology again. It’s a gem of a place that truly knows how to make their guests feel special. Very highly recommended …‼️

Stumbled across this place on our day out in Buxton, omg it was amazing!!! The food here is fantastic, me and my partner loved it. Great menu and great prices too!! Would definitely recommend, 10/10 ❤️✨️

Had a wonderful experience here on a Saturday afternoon. We hadn’t intended to visit Noonology - the other cafe we had planned on visiting had closed earlier than we realised. We had the whole place to ourselves which was great with us having two hungry children with us! Loads of vegetarian choices (healthy ones too!) which we just don’t seem to find anywhere else. The children had the burger and chips. I had the Halloumi bowl which was super delicious! We thought the food was priced well and we thought it was helpful to have tap water available and a well-stocked toilet. Staff were helpful, patient and chatty. It’s not often I will visit the same place twice as we find service and food pretty poor around Derbyshire but we are glad to say that we will return and encourage others to do so.

One of the best full English I’ve had in a while! Everything is properly cooked, the egg is perfect, sausages and bacon are delicious, generous beans and toast, all for under £11! And absolutely incredible waffle with berries and ice cream, strongly recommended Had to wait a bit for it but it was so worth it, delicious! Breakfasts are served all day, special offers for senior citizens

Great breakfast this morning. Really enjoyed it. You are advised to book as it can get busy.
Glo G — Google review
Reasonable veggie breakfast (despite charred tomatoe) and very nice dirty chai. Let down by using store-bought waffles rather than cooking their own -- despite not ordered. I find it a Major insult towards paying customers for a simple-to-cook item and a real shame, because this could be one of the best breakfast spots near Buxton. Big turnoff, and would not visit again unless rectified. Cosy premises at a former Chakra Lounge.

We took a small trip to Buxton last Wednesday and Thursday and enjoyed a lovely breakfast each morning, Full English, scrambled eggs, and French toast. We really loved it, and the price was very reasonable. The customer service was great, and the chef, a young lady with a smiling face, made the experience even nicer. We visited again today and enjoyed some nice drinks. We are eagerly looking forward to our next visit, and will definitely be coming back soon. Highly recommend!

Lovely meal and beers. Great service from the staff. Dog friendly which is great. Food was very tasty. Portion sizes slightly small. The chicken ranch and BBQ burger, had quite a small piece of chicken and there were only 3 halloumi fries. The quality however was really good. Overall great service and tasty food.

Top quality all round! Recently booked out the Gig / stage area for a 30th Birthday and the service I received throughout was top notch. The help I received from Holly the event manager was fantastic. Answered every question under the sun, went above and beyond to make sure my requirements were met. Tina did everything possible to make sure we had a great night and it ran smoothly, the effort shown went above 5 stars. The food produced by the kitchen team was incredible, with a huge thankyou to chef Liv who made sure we were all satisfied and the food was well received. I could not fault the service throughout the event one single bit. Only let down was the night had to end at some point 😂 Thankyou again trackside!

It’s not quite a quaint as the upstairs taproom in the main brewery, but bigger and more accommodating for summer. Inside has a TV for sports, outside has plenty of seating. I had a breakfast bagel there, for £5 it was a bargain. It also goes without saying their beers good also.

Came down from Carlisle to visit my son and he took me here for dinner. They have a big daddy burger available from Father’s Day. The made me one a day early as it doesn’t go on the menu till tomorrow. Best burger I have ever had. Tasty and wow a lot to it. Excellent value for money. And what a selection of beers they have bought some to take home. Highly recommend this place. And the staff are really helpful and friendly. And a thank you to Leah for taking time to talk to us. Awesome place will definitely be back.

Good outside atmosphere. Dog friendly. Lots of seating. Good selection of beers including take out cans. Friendly staff Food unfortunately is a big let down. Ordered two different chicken burgers, both were very cheap cuts of chicken with cheap buns used. The chips were oven oven chip quality with barely any seasoning . The whole food quality was almost fast food quality which is disappointing for £15+ for a meal. Small portions also. Shame!

Nice place! Had Feather bed which was a delicious NEIPA. Also had the bacon burger and parmesan fries 👌 Staff was very friendly, I would come back next time I am in the area!

We had a great afternoon/evening carving pumpkins. We stayed on a bit later to eat there too and the burgers and wings were amazing. The only thing i would say is that after the carving the music stopped leaving the venue a little lacking in atmosphere.

Located on Buxton's High Street, The Queen's Head Hotel is a convenient base for exploring the town, just a short walk from the Opera House and train station. The hotel offers comfortable en suite rooms with private entrances, satellite TV, and tea/coffee facilities. The lively central pub also provides free WiFi and very helpful staff. It's an ideal choice for travelers looking to immerse themselves in the historic town of Buxton while enjoying modern amenities.
Amazing hotel. The staff are extremely cooperative from the manager to the security staff and bar tenders at the pub. Very comfortable rooms. We stayed here on a weekend night while visiting Peak District. The hotel pub was full of university students on the weekend but our rooms were peaceful and quiet. Buxton is a nice little town. Will stay again.

Great little room. Comfortable bed. Sky TV with all the channels. Nice bathroom. Hot bath was a real bonus after getting caught in the rain on the Peaks. Friendly staff. Would definitely go back. Was woken at 5am on the Friday by the sound of the used glass bottles all being emptied into the waste lorry, but it didn’t spoil the stay. Nice place.
Andrew P — Google review
Very nice modern room, quiet as it's detached out the back of the hotel. Only thing missing really was a fridge. We didn't use the pub or restaurant. The other thing I forgot to check before booking was that there's no on-site parking....you have to use a pay car park nearby, but it's cheap enough. I left something behind in the hotel and since we live the other side of the country, we couldn't call back in for it. The hotel very kindly posted it to me. Great service!
Nigel H — Google review
A fantastic place to stay in Buxton. A warm and friendly welcome throughout our stay. The pub had great beers and accommodation was modern and spotless. There was no noise from the pub in the apartment block and had a great nights sleep. Really central and would recommend to anyone visiting Buxton.
Simon K — Google review
The rooms around the back are cosy-sized but very comfortable. I stayed on a drizzly Wednesday night so there was no one sat outside the back of the pub and it was very quiet - can't say how quiet it would be on a Saturday night. The staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. They had my cooked breakfast ready when I came down in the morning as they knew I needed to leave early, and they locked my bike in a secure room and had it out ready in the morning without me having to ask. Just be aware that if you come by train, it's at the top of the hill!

We came to Buxton to see our son in a play at the Fringe this weekend. We had a great stay at The Queens Head. The pub is so well kept, clean and tidy with great beer. Our room was spotlessly clean and comfy, with a huge bed. The staff were friendly and welcoming too. If we come to Buxton again we will definitely stay at the Queens Head.

We have now stayed at this hotel 4 times whilst attending the antiques fair at the floral pavilion, just a short walk through the gardens, and wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else. What a great place, it’s home away from home and in such a quiet location yet not far from the shops, theatre, restaurants etc. Kevin and Alison are so friendly and make us feel really welcome. The room we stay in is light and spacious with dual aspect, great views of the pavilion gardens, and the breakfast is yummy. They even fill my flask to take out with me! Look forward to seeing you again in June. Jan & Dave

What a fabulous place to stay. An old stone town house opposite large park with free parking. The house with many of the original features. The guest house is a stones throw from all in the centre of Buxton. Clean rooms with comfy beds and all the facilities even a fridge. The host is very friendly and knowledgeable about Buxton. Breakfast was very good and very hot. Good fresh coffee. If we go back to Buxton we know where we will be staying
Keith B — Google review
I am so, so glad that I booked an overnight stay at this wonderful place. Before I sing their praises, I think that it's really important to mention that us "youngens" tend to book hotel stays via booking sites or all online via a website. It was a new experience having to ring up and verbally book/reserve the room. With that said, it's taught us that to find gems like this place, its worth checking Google maps and searching for the local hotels and booking direct. The hosts were so friendly and they literally cannot do enough for you. The rooms while dated, had character and they had so many wonderful little touches like filter coffee, a mini fridge with fresh milk and water, and little things like a hot water bottle and plenty of added extras. Definitely not what you'd get in a chain hotel! The area of the hotel is simply fantastic as it's right opposite the gardens and Kevin was so helpful in giving us tips on where to go being new to Buxton. The perfect end to our stay was the breakfast - WOW. It was the best hotel breakfast me and my partner have ever had. Their home made marmalade was top tier! The whole experience was fantastic and we will 100% be booking to stay with Kevin & Alison again when we visit Buxton in the near future. I emplore anyone reading this, especially if you're a couple in your 20s to consider the idea of ringing up and booking direct. The value for money and the personable service was exceptional. Wishing you continued success and we will see you again soon! Best wishes, Lizzy & Emily

A lovely place. Location is wonderful, just opposite the Pavilion Gardens, and close to the attractions of the town. Room was excellent, with all manner of appreciated touches like a mini fridge containing fresh milk for tea, and a caffetiere plus good ground coffee. As others have said, a stay is worth it for the breakfast, quite apart from all the other great points. Highly recommended.
Glenn — Google review
Great location. Both central to everything but quiet and right next to the park. Two minutes down the road you can fill up your water from the well and there is fresh Buxton water on your room daily. Alison and and Kevin are amazing hosts, so kind and helpful. We had lots of great tips that we wouldn’t really have found out looking in the internet. Our rooms were made up every day with fresh cookies added. Shower gel, bubble bath etc which we really didn’t expect and were a great bonus. Every day the breakfast was generous and there were great choices for veggies. When we arrived Alison asked us about our dietary requirements as they really care! Cute little dining room (right next to the gardens) where we exchanged stories with the people that came and went during our short stay. The homemade marmalade is to die for. We will definitely be back.

Just back from 2 nights at the Grosvenor house, what a lovely place. Location was perfect and we had 2 rooms overlooking the gardens. A stones throw from the theatre and lots of lovely bars and restaurants on the doorstep. Kevin and Alison were wonderful hosts, delishous breakfast and extremely comfortable beds, what more could you ask for. Thank you again for making our stay so good. Would definitely return x

Julie A — Google review
The food I had today was nice except the veg sausages aren't my cup of tea maybe for a full vegetarian, restaurant made so should be nice for 100%vegetarian soul 🙂 The only thing I'm curious about is their hot water is £1 fair enough they have to use electric for that & it helps me to be mindful about it. I could order a tea but I had caffeine already and I don't do well when I'm overloaded with caffeine. But I won't spend £1 for hot water so I stick to their free cold tap water 😁 Breakfast today wasn't a plan it was just experiment for myself.

Amazing staff, very clean environment. Very helpful and friendly staff. The taste is as usual.

Very helpful staff, and probably better than the average Costa, my score is reduced owing to two factors:- Accessibility is awkward, a little ramp is available for wheelchair users for the entrance but it's short and the manoeuvring space immediately inside is very tight. Acoustics in cafés is usually poor, reverberating a lot of the noise, it seems worse than normal here.
Amok281 — Google review
The standard of Costa coffee is high and consistent as it should be for an international coffeemaker chain. The staff in Buxton are friendly and efficient. Well done Buxton
Andrew D — Google review
Unfortunately, I don’t like it at all. I ordered in this Costa many times and in my opinion this is the worst coffee in Buxton. Staff medium friendly, but ok - depends who. Coffee tastes like a water. Sweet coffees are the worst one - no taste. Maybe I will come one day and try to change my opinion but for now…

Dreadful place. Cold and raining outside and they wedge the door open so it's absolutely freezing. They have the heating on full blast which isn't helping much. Absolutely couldn't recommend enough!! I initially reached out to Alison & Elaine with an enquiry for a takeaway afternoon tea in preparation for a hen-do weekend in the Peak District - they surpassed all of my expectations! Alison was so warm, welcoming & generous with her time to go through specifics, including favourite cakes of the bride, our preference on scones & any dietary requirements. The ladies prepared the most delicious spread including finger sandwiches, scones, quiches, sausage rolls & a selection of cakes for all 13 of us, including 1 gluten free portion (which received exceptionally glowing feedback!). I have to mention the lemon drizzle cakes & quiche specifically as they were the best I've ever eaten! The ladies were also kind & generous enough to entrust me with borrowing a selection of china crockery, cutlery and tiered cake stands which tied everything together & looked perfect. Thank you SO much again for all of your hard work in turning my hen-do vision into a reality (& making the life of a maid of honour significantly easier!) xx

Gem of a place in a beautiful setting. Friendly staff. Variety of tea, coffee, cakes. Superb sausage rolls. Light meals. Seating indoors or outdoors. Chapel across the road also worth a visit, especially to see the old photos from years gone by. Good spot to start or finish walks in the area, including Chrome Hill. Quite a bit of parking on the side of Hollinsclough Rake road to the south-east of the tearoom.

I recently tried the breakfast at the Corner Cupboard, and unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the mark for me. The eggs, sausage, and bacon all had a rubbery texture that was quite off-putting.
