Jardins d'Etretat is a stunning garden perched on the cliffs to the east of Etretat, influenced by Claude Monet and created by landscape architect Alexandre Grivko. Originally established in 1905 by Madame Thebault, a friend of Monet, it now features avant-garde stone sculptures and meticulously shaped shrubs.
This park was one of the highlights of our visit to Étretat. Perched above the sea with panoramic views of the cliffs and the town below, it’s an absolutely breathtaking place to explore. The gardens are beautifully maintained, blending art and nature in a way that feels both serene and inspiring. Whether you’re a nature lover, an art enthusiast, or just looking for a peaceful escape, this park is definitely worth visiting. Take your time here—it’s not just a quick stop, but a space to truly enjoy.
Anastasiia B — Google review
Worth the climb. The gardens were beautifully planned and reacted the local environment. The garden was the perfect companion to the art. A cup of tea and a treat in the cafe was the perfect full stop to a lovely moment in Etretat.
Nicola T — Google review
Nice and quite small park on the hill. There are some sculptures etc. but 20-30 mins more than enough. For 14 euros... big question mark. Maybe I don't understand the cultural impact - I wasn't impressed, sorry...
Sergey K — Google review
I think this botanical garden is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen. There are so many different installations in a relatively small area. I didn’t spend a lot of time there, but it was definitely worth it – it’s quite big, and that’s part of its charm.
Misha K — Google review
This place is absolutely beautiful, so good that even the weather didn’t ruin our experience! 10/10 and so happy we visited! Would be great if one day they got given the rest of the hill to make perfect like this place, it would definitely make Etretat UNESCO World Heritage worthy (as if the wonderful sea arches wouldn’t be enough already)!
Thomas W — Google review
Worth a visit if you’re in Étretat. Nice place to take a stroll during the afternoon and escape from the heat. Lots of cool exhibits on display. There’s also a cafe inside the garden if you want to take a caffeine break.
Tazin K — Google review
tourist scam for 12 euros. garden is very small, there are like 5 heads sculptures. you can see the sea from only one point, which is a dedicated photo area but since the garden is on the cliff there’s a better view right next to it and it’s FRE OF CHARGE. these 5 heads are not worth it and you can’t even take a normal picture because of the crowd of tourists. i don’t even know what else to say..
Valentina — Google review
These gardens were the most beautiful and magical I've ever seen, filled with sculptures and lush greenery that made me feel like I had stepped into the world of Alice in Wonderland 🤍

Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde is a picturesque chapel perched on the eastern cliffs of Etretat, offering stunning sunset views from its seafront location. Built in 1854 to honor sailors, it was destroyed during World War II but later restored in 1950. The chapel's preservation by the town in 2014 showcases its religious heritage.
This chapel situated on cliff and the view is breathtaking. Must visit.

Beautiful views to the see and cliffs. The cathedral looks old and small, and for now it is closed due to maintenance works. The place Could be reached via steps directly from the beach, or you could drive here though I didn’t noticed any parking lots Close to the gardens.
Yana P — Google review
Pros: we arrived on Friday evening, the weather was bad so we had no problem to park for free right by the beach, otherwise there is for sure a problem with parking because the parking lot ia small and nearbay streets are narrow, the cliffs were nice - you can climb (walk up) on both sides, but I was much more excited about the stony beach and the gorgeous sounds that the waves made as they hit the rocks, it was an incredible experience to hear the power of the sea, we went up to the cliffs, took a few photos and returned back down, it's a very interesting place, worth seeing and especially for hearing, Cons: watch out for children - there are no obstacles on the cliffs - it is a extremelly dangerous area !!!

Le Clos Arsene Lupin is a must-visit for fans of the fictional master thief from the Lupin series, as it was once owned by Maurice Leblanc, the author of the original books. This Anglo-Norman half-timbered house in Etretat offers a unique museum experience with an excellent audio guide and impeccable design.
We accidentally found this wonderful and productive seafood stall. A portion of 6 oysters cost us 4.80€
Alina K — Google review
It’s very important to visit this place with The AUDIOGUIDE !!! It is narrated by the Arsene Lupin, starts with meeting Le Clos and followed by Arsene’s stories. Each room is about one or more stories ( the rubbery, travel, people he met and etc) Although it is a very small place but it’s nicely made into a museum. It worth the visit specially if you are Arsen Lupin’s fan. At the end there’s a gift shop with comic books and stationery items and etc. Two downsides: - no toilet is in the place!!! - just two of the books in English.
Elish — Google review
You must be a real lupin fan to see this tour. Since we just know the show from netflix we mistly did not get the context of the tour since lupin was talking about a treasure. Not recommended if you are not a 100% lupin fan. However I can imagine that if you are a lupin fan it can be very very cool with a lot of stuff to see and souvenirs to buy at the end.

(Translated by Google) The reception is appalling. It says the garden closes at 12:00 and that the ticket cut-off time is 11:30. We arrive at 11:15 and are told it's closed. We point this out, and they make up another excuse: apparently a large group had just entered, so it's not closed, but full. However, we'd been in the garden since 11:00 and not a single person had entered... This didn't make us want to pay for the tour at 1:30. I don't recommend it at all, it's a shame...

Nature preserve
Falaise d'Aval is a towering white cliff with a monumental natural arch eroded by the sea, accessible at low tide. The area was heavily bombed during World War II, and now visitors can witness the draining of water from the high tide, creating creeks as they walk along the beach. The tidal difference here is significant, with a 6-8 meter variance between low and high tides.
The place was very beautiful, but there were so many people and it took a very long time to find a parking spot. I recommend you to go there early morning to avoid the traffic. And I also recommend you to climb the hill. You could see the amazing view from there !
Chisato O — Google review
The natural formation is in itself spectacular but it's the color of the ocean around it, the color of the cliffs, the sound of the ocean, the waves, the cries of the seagulls, the tall grass growing on the hills bending to the wind, the wild flowers, creating that picturesque landscape, all coming together for an unforgettable experience and ambience. When it's cloudy, the colors are so special somehow. The walk up to either side to the see the views is not bad at all, like a ten minute climb. Enjoy your experience! Take a picnic up to the top of the hill to enjoy the serenity longer!
Elana P — Google review
A piece of heaven. Loved the place long time back when I went there for work and fall in love with it. A wonderful place with an amazing view. This time spent a full day and weather was exactly what you expected to have the best experience. A must see place in west of France
Amir — Google review
What more can you say? Stunning natural rock formations, a postcard-worthy arch, crashing waves, and... scattered German concrete bunkers. It’s a mix of dramatic cliffs, windswept plains, and wartime history that somehow works. The views are breathtaking from both above and below — and when the wind picks up, walking becomes a full-body sport. A place that impresses without even trying. :)
Michael N — Google review
Absolute must see in the Normandy, breathtaking views and a unique feeling. Very crowdy, don’t try to park in the city , you will fail :) better to stay a kilometer or so before the coast and take a walk instead. Or go there early in the morning, then you will be able to find a parking spot near the edge. Otherwise be prepared paying 25euros / day to locals offering parking spaces in their gardens :) Lot of restaurants and shops in the area, but most important are views from the cliffs. There’s also a small „train” which takes you to the cliff on the right (that one with church on the top) .
Mateusz K — Google review
The arch and scenary is, like in so many places around the coast of Normandy, incredible. Walking to the top is worth it if you want to enjoy the view. A few things to note: Walking to the top takes a while and may be exhausting. Given the step stairs, it is impossible for people having problems with walking or stairs. Though some basic railing exists, especially children should be very careful. Especially around summer the area is a tourist hot spot and therefore full of people. This will certainly slow you down too.
Joshi — Google review
This place is amazing! If you are into hiking, I'll recommend to you to park your car outside the downtown. Go to parking area so called "my parking etretat" and then walk few minutes to small street called "Petit Valaine". At the beginning it's lil bit climby and then you will find big field on your left, and golf course area on your right. Just walk following the golf shape of the golf course until you'll find the magnificent view. This path is unofficial walk, but I saw some local going through this path and also this path is MUCH better because there is no STEEP stairs (I noticed the official path has steep stairs). So with this path, you will just go downhill instead of uphills. Worth to try.
Siti H — Google review

La Falaise d'Amont is a stunning chalk cliff with a small rock arch and pebble beaches on either side. The area was heavily bombed during the war, leaving behind newer white apartment blocks. At low tide, the water slowly drains out of the creeks, revealing the high tide mark and showcasing a significant tidal difference of 6-8 meters. This natural beauty has inspired many artists over the years, including Claude Monet, who painted several works featuring the cliffs and beach.
The other famous cliff in Étretat — but definitely not second-tier. From the top, you get stunning views of the sea, the iconic arch, and the town below. The walk up is easy, as long as the wind doesn’t carry you off (and it might try). At the summit, there’s a small chapel and wide grassy areas perfect for a picnic or just staring dramatically into the distance.
Michael N — Google review
Incredible beauty all around! The beach is charmingly covered in little pebbles and smooth stones! I loved every bit of it
Shari K — Google review
✨ A must-see in Normandy! ✨ The view from La Falaise d’Amont is absolutely breathtaking ,endless ocean meeting dramatic white cliffs, with the charming town of Étretat below. It’s the kind of place that makes you pause, breathe deeply, and feel the beauty of nature all around you. If you’re passing through Normandy, make sure to stop here ,the walk is easy, the air is fresh, and the scenery will stay with you forever.
Zachi M — Google review
Very nice to visit! You can walk beside the cliffs and have some very awesome views! You can also walk on the beach and there are some restaurants nearby in the village. I do recommend to go early because its very crowded otherwise.

Be sure to find a good day to go. If you don’t have too much energy, you can take the little train up to the top and then hike from there to yport. Around 10km with good views.

We recommend doing a walk up to this point and continueing the walk further along the cliffs. Walk itself is maybe 100m of steep stairs, but the view is worth it.

Porte d'Aval is a famous photography spot, featuring an arch carved from white chalk cliffs. It's part of the stunning landscape in Etretat, France, with a pebbled beach flanked by two magnificent cliffs. Visitors can enjoy a refreshing walk to the top for mesmerizing views and explore various eateries. For those who prefer not to climb, there's a train available.
Nice place in the heart of Etretat. The bright blue water gives you the feeling that you are somewhere in the far south. On both sides of the beach you have a walking route to the cliffs. Just a shame about tourism. A very popular place in Normandy.
S_ M — Google review
Porte d’Aval, located along the stunning Alabaster Coast in Étretat, Normandy, France, is a breathtaking natural wonder that leaves visitors in awe of its dramatic beauty. This iconic sea arch, carved meticulously by the relentless forces of wind and waves over centuries, stands as a testament to the raw power of nature. The picturesque seaside town of Étretat is located in the Normandy region of Northwestern France and is known for its chalk cliffs, including three natural arches, one of which is called L'Aiguille. Étretat is a popular place in Normandy. L’Aiguille Jutting out of the water 70 meters high, l’Aiguille is a remarkable geological formation. Tides Normandy is famous not only for its unbelievable rocks but also for its longest tides. When walking on the beach, be fully aware of the tide times. Étretat Beach Enclosed between the Amont and Aval cliffs, the beach is a stranding port for fishing boats. The sea dissolves the chalk from cliff falls and polishes the flint into rounded pebbles. It is forbidden to collect pebbles from the beach because they offer protection against swell and storms. The towering limestone cliffs, with their striking white hues, contrast beautifully against the deep blue of the English Channel, creating a scene that feels almost otherworldly. As you approach Porte d’Aval, the sheer scale of the arch becomes apparent, with its elegant curve framing the horizon and offering a glimpse of the endless sea beyond. The view from the beach, especially during low tide, is nothing short of spectacular, as the golden sands stretch out beneath the cliffs, inviting you to explore the rugged coastline. Cliffs On both sides of the beach, there is a walking route to the cliffs. The Falaise d’Amont is home to various birds and protected plants that have adapted to the coastal habitat. Walking along the cliffside paths provides an even more immersive experience, as you are treated to panoramic vistas of the coastline, the arch, and the needle-like rock formation known as L’Aiguille, which rises majestically from the water just offshore. The sound of crashing waves echoes against the cliffs, adding a sense of tranquility and grandeur to the atmosphere. For those who venture further up the cliffs, the vantage points offer unparalleled photo opportunities, particularly during sunrise or sunset when the light bathes the landscape in warm, golden tones. The surrounding area is rich in natural beauty, with lush greenery and wildflowers dotting the cliffs, creating a picturesque contrast to the stark white rock. Porte d’Aval is not just a visual marvel; it also holds a sense of timelessness and history. The cliffs have inspired countless artists, including the famous Impressionist painter Claude Monet, who captured their beauty in several of his works. The the beach becomes less crowded after 4 p.m., offering a more tranquil atmosphere to relax and admire the scenery. Standing here, you can’t help but feel a connection to the generations of travelers, artists, and nature enthusiasts who have been drawn to this place. Whether you’re a hiker, a photographer, or simply someone seeking a moment of serenity, Porte d’Aval offers an unforgettable experience that encapsulates the essence of Normandy’s natural splendor. It’s a destination that lingers in your memory long after you’ve left, a true gem of the Alabaster Coast.

A wonderful holiday destination in France. Lovely pebbled beach with two cliffs on either side. A refreshing walk to the top, mesmerizing view. Love options of eateries to choose and eat from. For those who cannot climb up, there is a train that goes to the top. There is also parking available for cars

Maison Maurice Leblanc is a historic site located in Etretat, where the renowned French author Maurice Leblanc once resided. It was here that he penned The Hollow Needle, a captivating detective novel in 1909. The focal point of this attraction is the iconic rock formation known as The Hollow Needle, which is rumored to conceal a trove of treasures belonging to the Kings of France.
I loved it! It even had audio guides in English. It was really cultural and fun. I loved how there is a sitting place in every room you go. So that is why I rate in a five stars out of five stars. Loved it ! :)

Cool audio-guided Tour of the house of the writer of the Arsène Lupin books
Patric M — Google review
It's nice little house that has been decorated to offer a brief immersion in the world of Arsène Lupin, without focusing on the writer himself. The guide is funny and offers a little game that follows a story of Lupin. The main issues lie in the cost, which is high for the place itself, and the fact that the audioguide is offered only in French and English. If you are not fluent in any of the two it's better not to enter, as it is not enjoyable.

Plage d' Étretat is a stunning beach that offers a mix of natural beauty and local charm. The Promenade d'Étretat provides a scenic walk along the seawall, offering views of stranded fishing boats and the opportunity to witness the traditional fishing lifestyle. The beach itself is adorned with well-polished pebbles and boasts breathtaking views of the towering white cliffs and blue sea.
Nice place to view and spend time with family. Lots of places to enjoy. Lot of sport items are happening. Lot of restaurants are available to have fun. Two good hikes are available near the beach
Vignesh 4 — Google review
A beach with postcard views in both directions — iconic sea arches on each side, dramatic cliffs, and a hint of history in the form of German bunkers. It’s a great spot for a walk, even if the pebbles aren’t foot-friendly. Add in a few cozy seaside cafés and you get a mix of natural beauty, wartime remnants, and relaxed atmosphere that somehow works. Étretat doesn’t try too hard — it doesn’t have to. :)
Michael N — Google review
The beach is very clean and the water is clear because of the pebbles and rocks (absolutely no sand) although quite chilly but pleasant when the sun is out. I highly recommend coming prepared with a swimming suit already on because there are no changing cabins. Also there are 2-3 public toilets around the beach but the queue to access them is very long (especially for the women’s wc) and restaurants won’t let you use theirs. Mid August, it was crowded but you can easily find a spot to lay on your towel.
Haya N — Google review
The stunning view of the cliffs was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful, but the lack of parking for motorhomes made the visit very difficult. We had to park almost 3 km outside the town and walk all the way back. The campsite was completely full, the motorhome service area was also full, and the parking lots either had height restrictions or were already full. It's a shame, because otherwise we would have stayed a little longer and spent some money.

It's important do get both directions. The hike is amazing and easy. There is no tax o ticket needed. I truly recommend to stay for the sunset. It's a wonderful experience of natural lights.

A nice place to visit for a few days. You need at least 2 full days if you want to check out the cliffs on both sides of town. If you are lucky and do not have clouds, the sun set is super from the beach.

Beautiful beach with clear water. Small and beautifully bookended by nightly clifts. Worth walking up to get a different perspective and light. The only downside is it got busy and there was a constant stream of people going up the clifts to capture selfies. Definitely draws in the Instagram poses. Golf d'Etretat offers a phenomenal golfing experience with breathtaking views of the bay and challenging coastal conditions. The staff is known for their exceptional hospitality, friendliness, and care, going above and beyond to assist players. The location also provides a beautiful setting for post-golf drinks and family-friendly dinners with a fantastic menu and great value for money.
Beautiful location for post golf drinks but in our case a kid friendly family dinner. Great menu, fantastic value for money and a view to admire until the sun goes down. Well worth a visit. Staff very welcoming and food delicious.

Outstanding! There is so much to love about this golf course. Much is down to mother nature and the stunning scenery you are able to drink in along the Normandy cliffs. However there is much more to like…the relatively new clubhouse complex is excellent. The bar and dining area offers views of the 18 green and out to the English Channel. The changing areas are modern and spacious. The food experience is top end restaurant quality at reasonable prices is to be recommended. Booking in the evening is probably essential. Last but not least the pro shop is possibly one of the nicest I have ever visited. A broad array of Etretat embroidered apparel and equally diverse golf accessories too. Something for everybody as there are loads of different colour ways available.

Best golf field ever. Can feel playing golf in the heaven. Tourists are able to encourage your shots near the walk way. But you may need the auto mobile cart for 18 holes.

Amazing course, breathtaking views of the ocean. I arrived during terrible weather and the lady at the prostore was kind enough to reschedule to a more beautiful day. All staff spoke English. The driving range wasn't great, but the other practice facilities made up for it. There were mainly old folks playing, so play was slow (4:20 for 18 holes). With a course this nice that wasn't a problem. I will definitely try to come back here.

My 70 year old father accidentally flipped his golf cart on its side and hurt his shoulder quite seriously. The staff at Golf d'Etretat were exceptional in calling the local ambulance immediately and helping us with towels, water and whatever else we needed. They translated everything for us to the local EMT's and really made us feel comfortable through this harrowing ordeal. Special thanks to Marie for handling this unfortunate situation so well. We feel so lucky that we were in such a friendly and helpful place when this happened. We are extremely happy with the level of service that was shown to us. The golf course is absolutely beautiful as well and I will be back to finish my round someday. Thank you again.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Dormy House last weekend. The weather was stunning and we wanted to go and see the view from the top of the hill near the Golf course. I was taking some pictures and my girlfriend was walking slightly ahead of me. When reaching the top, a car pulled by her, the man driving steer at my girlfriend and said « what are you looking for, this is a private property, you’ve got nothing to do here ». My girlfriend speaks a little bit French but she didn’t quite understood what the man was saying from the other side of a noisy 406. Despite being slightly behind, I did hear the message as well as the inappropriate tone. I introduced myself to the man who didn’t see me coming and expressed my stupefaction since the top of the hill contains a few places opened to the public including a restaurant. I tried to engage with the man who didn’t look at me and pretended to be busy manoeuvring. It seemed obvious to me that the man acted inappropriately because he thought that my girlfriend was by herself, vulnerable enough to accept the humiliation. “Humiliation” because a few meters ahead of us, a white couple who were enjoying the view hadn’t been accosted by this man. We had absolutely no intention to play golf that day. We just wanted to snap a picture or two from the top of the hill and perhaps have some lunch at the restaurant. My girlfriend genuinely felt excluded from this place because of the colour of her skin. Overall a very disappointing experience that tainted our impression of the place.

The Etretat Museum is a collection of artifacts and photographs that details the history of this small town on the French Riviera. The museum is well-organized and features original objects, documents, and photos. It's a great place to learn about Etretat's place in history and its many art treasures. However, the Museum is busiest during the summer months, so be prepared for crowds.
My dog enjoyed the walk thoroughly and admired the view from the top. He kept on smiling as you can see and had no problem posing as a dog model for whoever wished. Seriously speaking, this place get more beautiful every time, sun or rain, it still has that sparkle, that magic that just never goes away. Highly recommend the trip if you're in Normandy. The dirtiest toilettes in Normandy and the museum closed at opening hours … What a shame! The breathtaking views, millions of visitors every year, the outstanding story of young and brave pilots, and … the worst kept toilets, the only ones on theses heights, unless you want to pay 10 euros to enter the Etretat Gardens to use their bathroom… how is it even possible? Le Romain d'Etretat Restaurant - Pizzéria is a charming eatery in Etretat that offers a delightful mix of French and Italian cuisine. The laid-back space with blue accents provides a perfect setting to savor their homemade dishes, including delectable pizza, pasta, and charcuterie boards. Guests can also opt for outdoor dining or grab some takeaway treats to enjoy at their leisure.
Let's make this simple - This is an EXCELLENT pizzeria! During our 3 day stay in Entrètat we ate at Le Romain twice and loved both of our visits. We had a total of 3 different pizzas and two desserts between our two meals here and everything was absolutely delicious. I seriously doubt you can go wrong with anything you decide to order so go ahead and give it a shot! Make sure you arrive close to opening time or make a reservation as it does fill up quickly.

Exceptional food. The pizza and pasta are fresh, tasty and very well prepared. The service is one of the best from all we had at Etretat. The friendly atmosphere is real! The price is the best in class. I highly recommend that restaurant.
Yannick F — Google review
We arrived at the restaurant just five minutes before it opened at 7 PM and we were lucky to be among the first to get a table. Since the place is closed between 2 and 7 PM, a large crowd gathers right before it opens which creates a pretty long line. The service was great and the food came out surprisingly fast. The pizza was average — not the best we’ve had, but not bad either. But the pesto pasta… absolutely unforgettable. I don’t even like pasta and never order it in everyday life, but this was hands down the best pasta I’ve ever had. As for dessert we tried the chocolate fondant — one of my all-time favorite desserts that I’ve had in many places around the world — and this one was honestly the best of all. The white cream it was served in added such a unique and delicious touch. Highly recommend coming early to avoid the wait and definitely try the pesto pasta and fondant!

Located in the heart of the city, Les Falaises hotel offers a perfect starting point for exploring the region. The area is known for its stunning cliffs that offer breathtaking panoramic views and have inspired many artists. Visitors can enjoy climbing to the top of the cliffs, experiencing strong winds, and navigating narrow passages above the void. It's recommended to plan a visit during low tide to access the beach beyond Aiguille d'Etretat.
The stratified 70 metre high chalk cliffs and rock stack here are simply stunning, and it's easy to reach with a short 30 minute walk from the town of Étretat. There are also interesting beaches with boulders of flint and chalk, accessible at low tide, to potter around on, as well as the main single beach. It's wonderful to be there at sunset when the evening sunlight ignites the white cliffs. Stay back from the edge though, ladies and gentlemen, it's a long non-returnable journey to the beach below!

Wonderful place, it can be busy in the summer. Better to go there early in the morning. Sometimes difficult to find a place to park your car. It's better to go there from south part and pass between the farms and go down to the city from north. There are some touristic tours with boats possible. If you are walking, it's good to wear comfortable shoes. There are no bars or restaurants or shops there upstairs. Good to have water with you.
Mohammad A — Google review
Stunning views. Not to difficult to walk up but wear good shoes cause the paths are uneven and rugged. I went up the cliff around an hour before sunset. It was magnificent!
Saskia K — Google review
The most beautiful place I have ever seen, I highly recommend this place, it is definitely worth seeing, it will take you about 20-30 minutes to climb to the top, from where you can see amazing views.
George S — Google review
An amazing place worth visiting! Both the town and the cliffs are very beautiful. The climb to the cliff is not too difficult and definitely worth doing; the view is stunning. Be aware that it gets very crowded in the summer, so it’s a good idea to park outside the town and walk in. Highly recommended for a memorable experience!

Public beach
Plage du Tilleul is a spectacular and wild beach that offers a nearly mystical ambiance. It's the perfect spot to watch the sunset from either the cliffs or the beach. While it can be a bit windy, the view is truly amazing. Accessible by foot or road, this beach is less crowded than Etretat and its surroundings, likely due to the 20-minute walk required from the parking area.
Perfect spot to watch the sunset from the cliffs or the beach. We decided to stay there for 1 night after a long day walking by the cliffs from Etretat. Weather can be a bit windy but the view is amazing. Don’t forget to bring a jacket and a lamp if you stay at night. If you decide to camp there for a night, please respect our beautiful nature and clean it around you :) everybody can make a difference !

Really really lovely beach :) beautiful views. If youre someone with walking impairments, its a bit of a slippy walk up to the lookout point straight from the beach. There is an easier route further up the path as you come in but still tread with caution :)
Grace A — Google review
Large beautiful beach 😍 If you turn right you can walk until Étretat during low tides
Ana V — Google review
You need to hike above the cliff from Etretat beach for around 30-40 min to reach the location. The beach is full of rocks and it's bit hard to swim and walk around. The beach is less crowded.
Rahul D — Google review
Pebble beach with few people and beautiful view of the cliffs. On the far right of the beach you find some “cave” you can climb into. We parked our car at the free Parking Plage Valleuse d'Antifer. It is a 30-minute walk to the beach (you pass some chilly forest) and the foot of the cliffs. By bike it is only 10 minutes - you can safely leave your bike there.
Matthieu C — Google review
Incredible beach 😍 also very reserved. Some locals even do naturism. There are great hikes around it. Maybe you could find some cruising in the woods ;)
Erik L — Google review
Great place to start your Étretat hike with less tourists coming from this side. The views are spectacular!
Freddy — Google review
One of the best beach I visited. Nice view, best place to enjoy sunset. Less crowded because this beach is accessible by foot which is about 2km from the parking place. But worth visiting.

Pointe de la Courtine offers a breathtaking and secluded spot to witness the stunning sunset, especially in spring around 9 pm. The location is a bit tricky to find, but with the coordinates for Oeil du Panda, visitors can easily locate this hidden cave overlooking the cliffs. Located about 180km from Paris, it takes approximately 2.5 hours to reach Etretat by car.
Etretat象鼻海滩,we drive from Paris about 180km, but 2.5 hours. Amazing and impressive views and trails from cliff to cliff. You can swim as well. There is a golf course along the cliff. Of course fresh French seafoods are delicious. Nice place for everyday!
Vincent Z — Google review
Follow the cliff till the end and on the left side will be decent to the cave. Be aware of the rocky sharp descent and ascent on the way to the cliff.

Spectacular view of rock formations across the coast. This would take some time to find a parking in the area.

🔘 This is L’Œil du Panda. 📍 A cliff in Étretat, Normandy. 🌀 A natural formation standing 70 meters tall. ⚪ Its shape is flawless — as if carved by hand. 🌊 Beyond it — only the sea, the wind, and silence. 🖤 An eye gazing at the ocean. And you — right in its pupil.

Promenade
The Étretat Promenade is a must-visit attraction along the coast, offering a picturesque dike promenade that runs alongside the beach. This beautiful area provides an excellent opportunity for leisurely strolls and offers close-up views of the stunning Étretat cliffs. The promenade boasts great views of both sides of the cliffs and features convenient facilities such as bathrooms. Visitors can also enjoy the charming seafront and quaint village nearby, making it a delightful destination to explore.
Very nice beach. Parking might be far during summer season (lots of cars/people).
Rich S — Google review
Etretat is famous for good reason. The cliffs, especially the ones on the west side, are amazing. The town itself is just full of restaurants and souvenir shops. Not that interesting. But this promenade here is worth your while. You will walk on it anyways, since it's between both sides of the cliffs. Right at the stone beach. It boasts great views of both sided of the cliffs. There are bathroom facilities as well (both free and with fee). War memorials and what's left of the WWII bunkers with interesting info plates too. It's really a place worth checking out. There's is definitely something to see and do. Even though it's a pretty short promenade.

Le Pertuiser is a must-see attraction when visiting the cliffs of Etretat. It's part of a recommended tourist circuit on foot that allows you to discover the most beautiful cliffs and viewpoints in the area, including Falaise d'Aval, the Aiguille Creuse, the Chambre des demoiselles, and more. Visitors are advised to wear sturdy shoes for this adventure and should note that it may not be suitable for those with a fear of heights.

Towering white cliff featuring a monumental natural arch eroded by the sea, accessible at low tide.

Scenic Railroads
Le Petit Train d'Etretat offers a convenient way to reach the top of Falaise d'Amont, saving you from a steep ascent. The train ride provides stunning views and is operated by friendly staff. While there's limited food options at the top, bringing your lunch is advisable for a day trip. Visitors can enjoy various activities and take in the sublime view from the hilltop, although it can be windy.
This train is very functional, gets you from the center of Etretat to the top of the cliff at the viewing point. Excellent for accessibility / if someone has limited mobility. It costs €9 there and back. The poor reviews seem to expect something other than a train, they seem to expect a tour, which is not what this is.
Sofia — Google review
I wish my internet connection would have been active at the time when we bought the tickets for this. Now that we're back after realizing the level of scam it is we're in the office of tourism and unfortunately they're fully aware of the constant complaints and negative reviews of this business. Please beware and stay away. Anything that you want to see in this city is much more accessible by foot and costs a heck of a lot less. The employees are unfriendly unhelpful and for lack of a better word to scammy. Before you book with them look at all of the previous reviews and make your own decision but please.
Vincent D — Google review
If you do not want to walk all the way to the jardin d etretat - this train will be a life saver. although i did see some people being dropped off by car at the jardin - i do not think they were allowed. The train should leave and pick up every 30-40 min - but we waited a bit longer for it to arrive so not the most scheduled train. Maybe make sure to get a phone number to which you can call them - would have been easier for us to know when they would arrive.
Carole H — Google review
I looooove the train! The guys selling me the tickets and the person driving the train are both very warm and amicable. Someone earlier left a review that the train went up at breakneck speed. It’s not true in the first part. Just before we reach the top, there was a quicker part but I know it was necessary because the last part is quite a steep ascend. Highly recommend this - just think of it as transport to go up :)
Michelle I — Google review
A theft. No timetables available, ask the driver how long there is between trains and they say 30 minutes. We've been waiting for 1.5 hours and no one is coming. I strongly advise against it.

Le Vieux Marché is a charming indoor marketplace located in the heart of Etretat. The open-timbered building houses various vendors offering a wide array of souvenirs, apparel, local handmade products, and even alcoholic beverages. Despite its small size, the market provides an authentic experience for visitors looking to explore the city's history and culture through its offerings. From postcards and keychains to clothing and jewelry, there are plenty of options for shoppers of all ages.

Its a very nice place, I guess it is worth visiting it to buy some souvenirs and get to know a little more of the city and its history. Isn´t to big and can be crowded sometimes. It is just around all the historic sites and restaurants. There are pleny of options of things you can buy, to all ages. For postcards and keychains, it is the best place.

Cosy market in the heart of Étretat selling souvenirs, local hand made products, alcohol beverages, and more. There aren't many shops here as it is a small market, but still worth an experience walking through.
Tom L — Google review
The outside of the building is charming and reminds visitors of a bygone era, so bygone in fact that the interior is littered with cheap souveniers and other souvenirs that do not fit well in this market.
Ian B — Google review
You can buy souvenirs, jewelery, hats, liquor, etc from here but prices are too high. EDIT: it is just a scam to be honest. I bought an apple juice for 7 euro!!! specifically asking for alcohol free. Came home to find out that it was already fermented and not drinkable 😑
