The Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester is a captivating destination that celebrates the world of toys and games. It houses the largest collection of toys, dolls, and play-related artifacts, including the prestigious National Toy Hall of Fame. Visitors can explore interactive exhibits like Reading Adventureland and Sesame Street, as well as enjoy a pint-size market and an indoor butterfly garden. The museum also features vintage pinball machines and classic arcade games for all ages to enjoy.
I highly recommend. I was surprised how large it was and how interactive it was. There were so many games (board games ann video games) you could play and so many other interactive things. Great for kids of all ages and adults as well. It had so many nostalgia items from toys dating back to the 1800's to more recent. We went on a Monday and it was not busy, we were there almost 5 hours and probably still didn't see everything. We ate at the food court and got pizza and a chicken salad wrap and both were really good.

The Strong National Museum of Play completely lives up to its name — it’s pure fun, learning, and nostalgia rolled into one. We went as a family with both adults and kids, and every one of us had different favorites — which says everything about how much there is to do here. The exhibits are hands-on, creative, and thoughtfully designed, from the classic toys and video games to the pretend play areas and immersive displays. You could easily spend the whole day here and still find new things to explore. The only downside was that the bathrooms could have been cleaner — no soap first thing in the morning and a few stalls looked like they hadn’t been checked since the night before. Hopefully just a timing issue, because everything else was fantastic. The staff were friendly, the layout was well-organized, and the entire experience was memorable from start to finish. We can’t wait to come back — we’re planning for another full day!

This is the best place for kids (and me!)😁 It has the largest areas of play for kids at different ages. It entertains, teaches and inspires my kids. It's such a cool place and I would love to come here a few times a week! I wished the membership was cheaper though.

Best children’s museum I’ve ever been to! We stopped on our way back from the Midwest, going to New England, and my husband is already wanting to plan a trip to Rochester next year, just to spend more time at the museum! My son who was 1.5yo when we visited, LOVED it! I like how there’s activities for kids at every age (even adult nostalgia), and there’s even an outside area for kids to run around in (enclosed).
Emily — Google review
Outstanding National Treasure in the middle of Rochester! I went to the museum with my 4 year old granddaughter on Monday when senior rates are in effect. It is not cheap and family membership makes more sense than paying admission only a few times a year. It takes several days to appreciate the enormous amount of exhibits housed at the Strong. Parking is $10 on top of admission without a membership. I have been to art and science museums around the world and this museum blew me away. Can't say enough good things about it. Go, just go. Had such a great time that I didn't take many pictures; I was too enthralled with the displays and activities for young and old.
Gerald S — Google review
This was our second time visiting with our son. First time he was 2 years old and he had a great time. This visit he's now 7 years old and was able to enjoy different parts of the museum that cater to his age. He even got to have fun in some of the same sections he did as a 2 year old. This museum is really one of my favorites. It's fun for the whole family, not just the little ones. The history of video games and the history of board games really stands out for me. Very clean and easy to navigate. Highly recommend! My son would also like to add his words: "Most museums we only go to once, but this museum is far away from us, and we want to go to it a lot of times. The Strong Museum of Play is really fun. I love all the sections and could spend a whole day there. Can't wait to go back!"
Matt M — Google review
Wow wow wow! This was absolutely incredible! I was initially hesitant about what seemed like the high price of tickets- but they were absolutely worth every single penny! We did two-day tickets without adding on the ropes course or butterfly garden (you can pay for these experiences once you’re inside) and it was the best decision. This museum was unlike any other children’s museum I’ve been to- every single exhibit was curated to captivate children’s interests and imaginations. Every single place we stopped we could’ve stayed for at least an hour. We spent about 5 hours in the museum both days and we didn’t see all the indoors exhibits and we didn’t ever get to the butterfly garden or the ropes course. We’ll definitely be coming back and telling everyone we know who’s going to the area to plan a visit!
Amber V — Google review
This is the best place to recall the memories of children and adults. You can experience, learn, and enjoy many things. The playground, skyline, art, Lego, merry-go-round, butterfly experience, arcade, adventure, various story-themed entertainment, and books everywhere were great to bring children's emotions and learning. Unfortunately, I didn't have much time, so I couldn't enjoy it anymore. Next time, I would like to come in the morning and stay until it's over. ^^

The George Eastman Museum, located in Rochester, NY, is a multifaceted museum dedicated to preserving the legacy of Kodak co-founder George Eastman. The museum features a Colonial Revival mansion where visitors can tour and take photos in the gardens. Inside, there are current exhibitions showcasing contemporary photographers' work and a permanent collection of photography equipment and images dating back to primitive daguerreotypes. The museum also houses a theater for rare film screenings.
We loved the tour! It takes about 45 minutes and I strongly recommend it. The mansion is well-preserved and you'll definitely feel the atmosphere that this place had a century ago.
Unbiased R — Google review
The George Eastman Museum is an absolute gem in Rochester, and my recent visit was outstanding from start to finish. The museum itself is beautifully preserved, blending the elegance of George Eastman’s historic home with fascinating exhibits on photography, cinema, and innovation. What truly made the experience memorable, however, was the docent-led tour. Our guide was not only knowledgeable but also engaging, weaving together history, personal anecdotes, and fun facts that brought Eastman’s story to life. They had a wonderful way of explaining details about the house, gardens, and Eastman’s legacy in a way that kept everyone in the group interested. I especially enjoyed being taken into the garden, where the docent, Marianne highlighted design elements and shared thoughtful insights I would have missed if I had toured on my own. It gave the whole visit a personal touch and made the history feel vibrant and accessible. If you’re planning to visit, I highly recommend taking a docent-led tour—it elevates the entire experience and gives you a much deeper appreciation for both George Eastman and the museum’s collections.

The Eastman Museum was the highlight of our visit to Rochester! The entire place is beautifully maintained and spotless, with stunning interiors that truly reflect its history. Our tour guide was amazing—friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience so much richer with their insights. There’s also a cozy café and engaging activities for kids, which makes it great for families. The museum is fully accessible for visitors using wheelchairs and offers large free parking, which was very convenient. Overall, it was the best activity we did in Rochester, and I highly recommend visiting!
Naz A — Google review
This was a great museum and mansion that far exceeded my expectations. As someone else also said, the guided tour is what makes it fun. The stories about George Eastman are eye opening and personal. I really enjoyed looking at all the cameras, video cameras, and technology through time. Eastman was a genius! His home and gardens were so different from other homes of 5he early 1900’s.
Shelly P — Google review
This little gem of a museum includes a permanent exhibition from the collection as well as changing shows. I particularly enjoyed the gallery of historic cameras, from Ansel Adams’s Brownie to the very first digital camera (yes, a young Kodak engineer and his close associates pioneered the technology) to a camera designed to survey the moon in advance of the Apollo missions. The informative docent-led house tour takes you through several rooms. Besides being a visionary in the photographic realm, George Eastman was an avid gardener, and the grounds are a living tribute to his expertise. There are also silent and classic motion pictures that are regularly screened, including a yearly festival of films on the flammable nitrate stock (discontinued from use in 1951). The archive is world renowned.
Leslie S — Google review
I love history and this place is full of it! The mansion is in pristine condition. Definitely get a tour for the docent was excellent. The gardens are beautiful, as you can see we had a perfect day for seeing the grounds. The Eastman Kodak museum is connected to the mansion...so much film history. Read the description of the large camera pic I posted, really interesting.

Amazing museum, house and gardens! We were lucky to hear the organ being played which was very pleasant and making the atmosphere special. Beautifully preserved rooms. They also have a cafe inside the museum. Plenty of parking.

Very kind staff, beautiful property and nicely arranged historical rooms. We found the experience overall not worth the price - especially on the photography/video side. That said, we aren’t huge connaisseurs in this field. Maybe better suited to photography aficionados or if you follow a guided tour?

The Susan B. Anthony Museum & House is a pivotal part of the history of Rochester, New York. It preserves Anthony's life and work as a leading advocate for women's rights and equal pay. The museum features interactive exhibits that provide an in-depth look at her political career and the impact she had on society. The site of her 1872 arrest is also featured prominently in the museum, providing visitors with an understanding of this pivotal moment in American history.
Wow! Great tour with Jackie. Home had many original Susan B Anthony artifacts. Fascinating tour, great gift shop and friendly staff.
JennyMac — Google review
The Susan B. Anthony Museum & House is a beautifully kept piece of history in our own backyard. My wife, her cousin and I decided to head over on a sunny and hot Saturday afternoon. We went into the museum to buy tickets and browsed for about 10 minutes until the next tour time started. Armani was our guide and she was lovely. She shared many fun facts along with the history that made our guided tour fun. I had no idea why Susan was always pictured so you only saw her side profile and now I know. The home is filled with many historic items, some from when Susan lived there while others reflect the time period of when Susan was alive. The time and energy that went into the house when she lived there is astounding. The third floor was one of my favorite areas. The lady with the alligator purse nursery rhyme was a personal favorite that I had never heard before my tour. Both the museum and the house are air conditioned. We ended up visiting the cemetery afterward to visit both Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglass’ graves. Maps are provided at the museum if you are interested in doing that after a tour.

Great museum! The tour guide was great, and I learned a lot!

We had a lovely time at this museum! We bought tickets in advance for the house tour, but it wasn’t busy so you probably don’t need to. The tour was quick and succinct, but we felt like we saw everything and learned a good amount! Our tour guide was knowledgeable, great with engaging some of the younger kids on the tours, and did a great job relating Susan B. Anthony’s historical work to modern times and events happening in our country today.
Emily O — Google review
Both my husband and I just want to say thank you for keeping her legacy alive. I've wanted to visit the museum for a few years. But being self-employed got in the way. We made our reservations online and showed up early. Private and street parking are available. Even your property caretaker was a wonderful man. Since we were early, he asked if we wanted to visit the park down the street where we could see a statue of Susan with Frederick Douglas having tea. We did stop later. Our tour guide was amazing 👏 to remember so many details of a person's life and to inform us with such energy and excitement. I felt like Susan was going to walk inside any minute. The passion and wisdom were truly felt. We both have issues with steps, and she waited patiently and offered a chair for both of us. The house is filled with multiple pieces owned by both Susan and her mother. I could mention so much more! If you believe ♥️ in equal rights for everyone, this place is for you. I'm so sorry I can't remember our guides name 😔

We had a wonderful tour with Emma, our very knowledgeable guide!
JYA — Google review
We did not take the house tour. The museum is tiny, but the display is thorough - Four walls of a small room covered with info boards, containing photos and snippets of her historical timeline. I read everything slowly enough to absorb and finished in about 30 minutes. So, 5stars for a quick and free event stop and the friendly reception from the lady at the front desk. We were on our way to the airport and it was perfect for the time we had to spare. There is also a reception area, gift shop and restroom.

The RMSC (Rochester Museum & Science Center) is a three-floor learning center that offers hands-on exhibits for kids and a planetarium showcasing films and star shows. The museum features the newly rejuvenated Strasenburgh Planetarium, providing immersive outer space journeys inside its four-story dome. With a focus on history, humanity, and scientific achievement, the center offers captivating exhibits like the Electricity Theater's dancing lightning and monthly simulator rides.
The service was exceptional, with friendly staff available to assist and answer questions. One of the highlights was the short line for the entrance and not crowded space which made it easy to explore without feeling rushed. The variety of exhibitions was truly impressive. From fascinating displays on the history of Native American and African American contributions to science, to engaging Lego, Music creation and mechanics exhibits, there was something for everyone. Each section was well-curated and offered a unique perspective that educated and entertained. Overall, this museum is Rochester, NY gem for anyone interested in science and history.

The museum always delivers! It provides many always changing experiences and setups. My children love running around learning and playing here. There was a themed event happening this weekend which they do often and it added even more fun to the mix. There were vendors and tables set up to learn about things in our local community. Always clean and refreshing. Would being my kids again and again.
Erika S — Google review
Nothing too fancy to see here. The museum has three floors, but most of the interesting stuff is on the second floor. General admission is $23, and the senior/student discount is just $1 less, which really doesn’t make much sense. For this price, I didn’t feel it was worth it. Compared to all the science museums that I've seen, this was honestly my least favourite! The souvenir shop was also disappointing, very limited selection, and I couldn’t literally find anything I actually wanted to buy.

We had a great time visiting the Rochester Museum & Science Center and the Strasenburgh Planetarium! It’s an amazing spot for families, especially with curious kids who love to explore and learn through hands-on fun. The museum itself is packed with interactive exhibits — from exploring science and technology to diving into local history and nature. It was super engaging and educational without feeling like school work. The Strasenburgh Planetarium was a real highlight. We caught a show in the dome theater, and it was both relaxing and awe-inspiring. The presentation was easy to follow for all ages. It definitely sparked a lot of space-related questions on the ride home! The staff was friendly and patient, and everything felt clean and well-maintained. There’s a small café and a gift shop. I’ve noticed some families brought lunch from home and ate in the café area, but we drove about 4 minutes away to grab fast food. Overall, it’s a great place to spend a day learning and having fun as a family. Highly recommend if you’re in the Rochester area, especially on a rainy day or when you’re looking for something meaningful to do with the kids! Clean, educational and fun. Highly recommend!
N G — Google review
I love it here and look forward to going again! There was so much great information on display in creative ways. While I went on my own, as an adult, I noticed that there were many interactive tools for children to learn from. I especially appreciate how both the museum and planetarium center the voices and experiences of Indigenous people.
Christina W — Google review
As far as a MUSEUM goes this one is fantastic. That being said, this place is meant for field trips and schools, as it's way better than a school day, but comes up short for a family day. I scoured reviews and looked for photos of exhibits but came up with very little information before we went. I took a 9 year break from RMSC and decided to take the kids back this week. The kids are 27 , 11 , 7 and 5 years old. Though they tried their best to keep a positive attitude, this was misery for them. We covered the entire museum in under 90 minutes. Though something here or there would get their attention for say, 60 seconds, we really struggled here. We arrived at 12:15 and there was NO parking. They are charging too much for this museum. It's a museum. It's mostly look at the exhibits and walk around. And frankly kids don't want to do that. 10-12$ pp would have been reasonable. They are charging "play museum" prices but come up beyond short. The museum is amazing. For a school trip. For a learning environment. But we do not consider this a fun family day.
Trista S — Google review
I visited the RMSC with my 2 teenage boys. I was worried that they'd be bored there but I was pleasantly surprised! Even though they know how and why things occur, they still had a blast playing and tinkering at all the learning stations. We had a very thorough lesson on earthquakes, watched a rocket launch propelled by liquid nitrogen and stood in a faraday cage while electricity arched towards us at the Electricity Theater. Science sure is fun!

Had a great time. Museum has interactive activities for the kids. The day we went they had an engineering workshop along with a small medical workshop. This place has 3 floors of activities. There is an elevator for quick access to all the levels including the ground level where a small dinning and snacking area is located. They also have lockers for rent. Plenty of parking

Museums
The Memorial Art Gallery, located in Rochester, is a must-visit for art and history enthusiasts. The museum boasts a vast collection spanning over 5,000 years of history on a 14-acre campus. With more than 12,000 objects in its permanent collection, including works by renowned artists like Rembrandt and Monet, the gallery offers a well-balanced representation of art through the ages. Visitors can explore everything from mummy relics and antiquities to contemporary exhibitions.
A very fun time! The Gallery has a wide breadth of media covered from ancient Greek and Egyptian works to a large hall of contemporary pieces - many by local artists. There is even an immense pipe organ located on the second floor encompassing an entire wall of the largest gallery in the old portion of the building. It's definitely a fun day trip, especially if you're a fan of art that ties into local history.
GeneralFlagg15 — Google review
I really enjoyed my visit to the Memorial Art Gallery. It has a decent and diverse collection that’s worth exploring. However, a couple of things could be improved. Many paintings on the first floor didn’t have any descriptions, which made it hard to fully appreciate them. Also, the ancient Middle East section is placed in a bad spot in the museum. Besides, it has very beautiful manuscripts and relics, but the lack of lighting didn’t do them justice (shown in one of the photos). Still, overall a nice place to spend a few hours.
Muhammad Λ — Google review
A gem of a place. I went knowing very little about the Gallery, other than it was organized thematically. I found works that I've only seen online. To say that my heart felt deep happiness doesn't describe that visceral feeling when art touches you. It's different for everyone. And indeed, there is something for everyone! Many time periods, styles and regions are represented: thematically, by countries, techniques and centuries. The presentation on the Italian Baroque Organ was marvelous. To be surrounded by the genre paintings, made it easier to imagine that this was part of daily life. Be sure to check the time 3pm on the actual date, not the general description that incorrectly says 3:30pm.

We love this museum both inside and out! We have taken so many pictures in their outdoor sculpture park! We most recently went for their Pride celebration. They have scavenger hunts for the kids both inside and outside! The Rotating gallery is always worth checking out! ;)

Well arranged and comprehensive gallery for a medium-sized city. Particularly great selection of Renaissance paintings, some great post-impressionist works. The organ is spectacular. Stunning building as a backdrop. Great display of local, contemporary artists.

Outdoor Activities
Seneca Park Zoo in Rochester is a compact yet diverse zoo that houses over 90 species of animals, both native and exotic. The zoo's ongoing transformation aims to introduce more animals and attractions while expanding conservation and education programs.
Went to zoo brew and want to shout out Kathy, who drove us in the golf cart from the parking lot to the entrance as a part of the VIP package. Kathy was the highlight! She’s awesome. I recommend paying for VIP. Get closer parking, shorter or no line for entry, and two drink tickets. Was pleasantly surprised to see so many of the animals out and about! Lions, elephants, giraffes, otters, snow owl, and more.
Diane M — Google review
My family and I enjoyed all the changes that have been made. Last time I visited it was in 2017. It was nice to see junior volunteers staggered through the zoo and interact with our kids. They taught our kids some fun facts at each station.
Anna R — Google review
We visited the Seneca Zoo on a very hot day, and most of the animals were staying cool in the shade, which made it a bit hard to see or spot them. The zoo itself is clean and family-friendly, and we especially loved seeing young teens at tables sharing interactive information about the animals—it was a nice, educational touch. That said, costs can add up quickly. A family with one child might manage fine, but with three kids, it gets expensive fast. Most souvenirs and food were pretty pricey. It’s a fun outing overall, but I’d recommend going on a cooler day and budgeting ahead if you’re bringing the whole crew.
N G — Google review
It's always a fun, edu time at the Zoo. Animal enclosures seem clean, and the animals always seem comfortable and at ease. I always appreciate staff giving facts and making the trips personal. The food is good, bathrooms are clean, the kids are always having fun with the climbers or water area as well. We fed the Giraffes, it was a wonderful experience led by the staff.

The Zoo let you get very close to a variety of animals. Even allowing you to go behind the scenes into the animal hospital in the back, and see the both the indoor and outdoor enclosures for some animals to view them during colder days. I loved the very simple trail that lead you through all the exhibits, made it easy to stay on track and not get lost. The only downside is there was a very foul smell unlike anything I’ve ever smelt at zoo. It was present upon entering the property, parking lot, and all throughout the zoo itself.
Marie M — Google review
It's really small, so they don't have a lot of animals, but for kids, they have most of the important ones, like elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, the otters are fun to watch. Never saw the polar bear. It's clean, the staff seem nice, but it's a small zoo in a small city. $12.00 seemed steep for what you get, but I know it's expensive to feed and care for the animals.
Steve Z — Google review
I really enjoyed seeing all the animals with my family. We learned about many facts and behaviors of several of the animals. I appreciate the care that is being given to the animals as well as continuous education on what's best for them.

An enjoyable day trip. Perfect for children. A linear park. Clean and well maintained. Walked through the zoo. Rode the tram car back to the parking area. Park lands surrounding the zoo are worth a trip back to explore the river gorge and walkway over the river.

Ontario Beach Park is a beloved beachside destination featuring a historic carousel, swimming and boating opportunities, as well as rentable shelters for gatherings. The park hosts the annual Rochester Harborfest with various activities such as beach volleyball, sand sculpting demonstrations, car shows, boat parades, and more. Situated at the entrance to the Genesee River, this picturesque spot offers sunbathing, hiking trails, and volleyball courts.
A gem by Lake Ontario! This park is impressively well-maintained with thoughtful infrastructure—ample parking, clean restrooms, a small splash park for kids, wide lawn areas, and nearby restaurants. The soft, fine beach sand is a pleasant surprise and makes for a comfortable shoreline experience. Honestly, it’s better managed than many paid state parks. Highly recommended for families and casual visitors alike.

There was a fenced in Splash Pad for kids. Around 5:00 several adults joined the kids. Spacious picnic areas. The Merry-go-round under a pavilion was a big hit for kids. The boardwalk out to the lighthouse was a long stretch to walk in 93 degree heat. It was 🔥. The swimming area was secluded to a small area due to lack of lifeguard staff, so it was very crowded in the swimming zone. The shoreline could use a little cleaning and the water was murky to me. The kids said the farther you go out the clearer the water was and it was cold. I chose not to get in, but to watch and enjoy the fresh air. 93 degrees 🎯.

Beach volleyball, swimming picnicking, live music at the gazebo, walk the pier and ride the vintage carousel. Plenty of fun during the day. But, a note of caution... Don't go there after sunset.

Seabreeze Amusement Park, the fourth-oldest amusement park in the United States since 1879, offers a delightful mix of high-speed thrills, kiddie rides, and water attractions. With over 70 rides and slides for all ages, this Rochester gem promises a fun-filled day for families and couples alike.
We visited Seabreeze in August 2025 with our 3 kids (ages 1, 3, and 7) and had an amazing time! Tons of rides for young kids, plenty of shaded spots, and even areas where you can enjoy the real “seabreeze” from the lake. The water park was perfect for little ones with safe, fun splash areas. Clean, well-run, and super family-friendly. We’ll definitely be back!
Nitharsana L — Google review
Very fun local amusement park, featuring the world's oldest continuously operating roller coaster! A bit like taking a step back in time, Seabreeze doesn't have a 6ft mouse, on-site hotels, or fine dining. It also lacks $95 ticket prices, massive lines, and crowds that are actually town populations. What Seabreeze delivers aplenty is small-town amusement park charm and family fun. The rides vary from typical carnival rides, to those appropriate for small children (including a beautiful carousel), to thrill-seekers' delights. The water attractions range likewise across parkgoers of different sizes and swimming levels. The food is largely old-fashioned, amusement park fare--think pizza and hamburgers, with a wide variety of snacks. For healthier or vegetarian options, it's likely best to bring your own cooler, which is an option embraced by park rules. (Just remember to leave the glass at home!) The water park, in particular, can be a bit difficult for those with mobility challenges, but most of the park is fairly accessible. The smaller size and occasional breathtaking lake views help keep Seabreeze manageable for those with sensory processing difficulties, but as with any kid-frequented area, I suggest earplugs. Shaded picnic areas are also available, and these provide some relief from sun and crowds.
Alethia M — Google review
We visited Seabreeze in early August(2025) and this was the most fun we had as a family in a long long time. We have been to various amusement parts but none of them was enjoyed by everyone in the family as some of them are good for small kids and others for big kids and few for adults(some only for big kids and adults). However Seabreeze stood out as it was great fun not just for my young one and teenager but also me and my wife. we spent a good 9 hours there and want to go back again and will probably do so as soon as we can. The water park and all rides are lot of fun, the mini circus/stunts were a pleasant surprise. Overall staff are cordial and helpful. Decent food options on premises which are priced decently as well. Only downside in the entire experience was that they were only accepting cash for lockers which was a bummer, not sure if this was a temporary situation. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed this place and hope to visit again.
Kedar G — Google review
I just can’t tell you how much I love this place. I lived 2 miles from it in 1978, and when I went back to visit, it was almost like stepping back in time. There were plenty of newer rides, but the classics were still there and unchanged. A perfect place for a family to enjoy a day. Thank you Seabreeze, for bringing back such wonderful memories and making me feel like a kid again…
Heather S — Google review
We had such a great day at Seabreeze! The kids had an absolute blast on the rides and water slides, and we were really impressed with how clean and safe the park felt. The lines moved quickly, which made it easy for everyone to enjoy more rides without a long wait. The only thing that would make the experience even better would be if there were rules about people leaving their belongings on the picnic tables to “reserve” them. We had a tough time finding a place to sit and eat even though many tables were sitting empty with items on them. Aside from that, everything was wonderful and we’ll definitely be back.
Tim — Google review
Ordered tickets online and used codes and only paid 102$ for me and my two kids to visit on a Wednesday for the entire day. Open 11am to 8pm. Waterpark 12 to 7pm. Tons of things to do. Lots of staff and helpful employees.
Stephanie F — Google review
Kid friendly all ages. Large enough for the day without being overwhelming. Lockers start at 1$ per open and take quarters. We recommend water shoes as the anti slip on pavement and pool floors is rough on the feet. You can leave shoes at the bottom of water slides and collect after you come off. Parking is free. Park is spotless every morning to start the day. If you buy tickets online you can save 3$ per ticket. They have dippn dots ice cream starting at 7$ You can't take phones in pools or water slides. Lines are standardly short if it's not a Saturday or holiday weekend. On a Sunday 0-10 minutes wait for most rides. Water slides take longer. What appear to be short lines don't move fast. You can bring your own food and drinks in. No glass bottles. Sunglasses allowed on rides and slides at your own risk. Lazy river was cold water. Food options available, but nothing exciting. A classic favorite for 3 decades for my family.
Trista S — Google review
I've been coming here for 35 years. The only thing that seems to change are the People. Lol. The "Ride-Waiting Lines" take Forever to ACTUALLY get to the Ride itself. By the end of the day, We Counted how many times we got to Actually Ride on Coasters/Water Slides and it was only 9 times. We were there from Open until Close. Overall, Satisfied but Not.

Nestled in the heart of Rochester, New York, Mount Hope Cemetery is a serene and historic site that dates back to 1838. As the first municipal Victorian cemetery in the United States, it boasts an array of stunning marble and stone monuments set amidst tranquil woodlands and beautifully landscaped gardens. This remarkable resting place is not only listed on both the New York State Register of Historical Places and the National Register of Historic Places but also serves as a final home for many notable figures such as Susan B.
Listed in the National Register of Historical Places. One of the must visit spots in Rochester, NY. Great place for hiking 🥾 and biking 🚴‍♂️ Dog friendly 🐶 🐩 Home of the burial sites of famous Americans-Rochesterians Susan B. Anthony and Fredrick B.Douglas .

A godsend during Covid as I used to live nearby and spent most afternoons strolling around the cemetery. It really is a magnificent place! You can easily gather the history of Rochester from Mount Hope Cemetery if you play attention.
Ro — Google review
What has happened to this beautiful cemetary? The upkeep and landscaping are awful. Tall grass between and around headstones, I counted easily 25 knocked over or broken stones just to the left of the entrance! It looks like an abandoned spooky movie set. This used to so well maintained and historic part of Rochester. What a disappointment when visiting Rochester! Please take the vandalism seriously, these are people's family members!
Amelia L — Google review
Among others, the Mount Hope Cemetery is the final resting place of women's rights activist Susan B. Anthony (1820-1906) and abolitionist Frederick Douglass (1817-1895). It is 196 acres in size and contains some 350,000 interments. It was founded in 1838. The cemetery is very drivable (at low speed, of course) and that's a good thing as the more famous graves are some distance apart. Please be respectful when you visit - it is an active cemetery and there are people here laying family members to rest.
Bruce K — Google review
This is a beautiful cemetery with fantastic landscape of trees and graves. Many famous historical figures. I could wander around in here for hours, that's for sure! So peaceful!

The guided tour through the cemetery was very informative and beautiful. There were many stops to talk about different people and their contributions to Rochester. The tour had some "off path" areas, but much of it was on a gravel path and easy to navigate. The Friends of Mount Hope Cemetery is a wonderful nonprofit organization to help restore the cemetery and maintain the stones. The tour was 90 minutes and costs $15. They have various tours throughout the season and we are themed! Worth checking out! Sarah our tour guide was very nice and informative, she kept it interesting and kept everyone engaged. The cemetery is open daily for walking through to enjoy nature. There are paved paths throughout that would be easy to navigate with strollers or wheelchairs!

Absolutely breathtaking. Visited for the first time in early November to pray for the dead. The foliage and the entire cemetery was picture-perfect. On Voting Day, prepare to leave your sticker for Susan B. Anthony. Oh, and definitely wear your walking shoes!

My family has had a plot in Mt Hope Cemetery since 1958 so I have been there often.. We have nine family members resting there. I cannot properly describe my disappointment with the upkeep of the cemetery over the past year. Today, toppled gravestones which appear to be caused by vandals, over grown grass between many, many headstones. The cemetery is no longer a place of beauty and serenity. Besides this being my family's resting place, it is a National Landmark. Shame on Rochester for letting it settle into disarray. I am saddened and angry.

If you're in Rochester and it happens to be a Friday Saturday or Sunday, this is a must visit venue. It's a huge former manufacturing facility renovated into a place that shows art and holds events. If a world-class Art gallery and an amazing event venue had a baby, it would be Artisan Works. This is at least a 2-hour walk through filled with all manner of Art in all forms of media, vintage cars, themed rooms, paintings and sculptures, photography, you name it and it's probably here or represented. I even spotted some Andy Warhol prints as well as a very large collection of Rochester's own Mark Groaning's work. Definitely come by and check this place out. Also of note, every Sunday from noon to 4:00 p.m. Artisan Works has a thrift sale and you can find some really really amazing work as well as incredibly low-priced items there. Items change and are refreshed every week.

Cobbs Hill Park is a 109-acre public park in Rochester, offering a variety of outdoor activities for visitors. The park features a reservoir, sports fields, and a hilltop trail that provides stunning views of the city. In winter, it's a popular spot for sledding and other snow activities. The park also boasts numerous hiking trails with scenic viewpoints and an abundance of lilac and oak trees.
It's a gorgeous park with lots of trails, tennis courts, baseball diamonds, a walking loop around the fresh water reservoir (.69 miles a lap and a wonderful spot to walk your dog), and paths for bicycling if you wish. It has incredibly beautiful panoramic views of the City of Rochester and I would highly recommend visiting, even if you only have a few minutes. If you want to park by the baseball diamonds or tennis courts, or hike the hill to the reservoir, the Culver/Norris entrance is the one for you. There is street parking was well as a generous parking lot near the tennis courts you can walk around to access the path to the top of the hill for the walking loop. If you don't want to make the hill trek, the park entrance from Highland/Monroe is the one for you. There is a driving path all the way to the top, with lots of available parking. There are some handicapped spaces next to the radio tower building at the top of the hill and it's a short easy walk to the benches to rest and soak in the views of the city. I can't say enough about how beautiful those views are; and it's a perfect spot for a picnic or spontaneous announcement. ☺️ Don't forget to check out the architecture on the Cobbs Hill Water Works building at the top of the stairs. Built in 1908, it has lion sculpture heads, Greek key patterns carved into the stone, and other little architecture presents that show the beauty of the era.

Nestled along the Genesee River, Turning Point Park is a captivating 275-acre oasis just north of downtown Rochester. This park boasts an impressive array of natural beauty, featuring wooded trails perfect for hiking and biking, as well as a stunning two-thirds mile boardwalk that gracefully spans over the river. As you stroll along this scenic path, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of both the water and the city skyline.
This hike has just about everything you could want. The boardwalk goes over marsh land where you can watch painted turtles sunbathing on cat tails and floating logs. You can watch the barn swallows fly around playing tag and doing barrel rolls mid air. If you're lucky you might even see the swans & their little ones paddle by. After this your path leads to a couple miles in shaded woods that eventually gives out to the great lake. You can grab a bite to eat or a beer at Pelicans nest or even bill grays on the water.

Visited in July. Found parking in the lot. The trails and boardwalk provide such beautiful views. This quiet green waterside park often has lots of bird activity, fish and turtles in the water, and people tend to be relaxed strolling along. We went to this falls two times, one by foot walking along the boardwalk. Another time by riding the bike on the boardwalk all the way to the lighthouse. We saw people fishing on the shore. Both the view in the afternoon and the view in the evening are beautiful and very peaceful. Riding the bike makes it less tiring but could go all the way to the lighthouse. It is very easy to ride there as it is wide and pretty flat. I recoomend this place if you are going to Rochester, N.Y. We also saw a beaver swimming. The parking lot close the gate when sunset around 8-830 in Aug. make sure don't come back to the parking lot too late, the gate will lock and you will not get your car out.

My friends and I attended Drag on the Bricks at the Public Market. I have also been to Bands on the Bricks. The venue has a lot of parking, but a large section is usually blocked off so people have to park across the street. The stage set-up was fine, but the VIP section was off to the side of the stage, which did not feel like VIP at all. The queens put on a great show, battling through the heat. Massage chairs were available in VIP, which one my friends used and was quite pleased. Food was limited, especially for people with food restrictions. However, what was available tasted good. We all had a great time and would probably go again.

Then it was off to see Mr Vinny and what a light he is too. Just super awesome to see someone so amazing. When I told him to “keep the change” he gave me a cantaloupe and I whispered in his ear “ thank you 🙏, but I ‘can’t elope’ I’m already married” and he started laughing 😂…..older produce man is a great experience for anyone….Mr Thomas was so on point as I leveled his table the best I could, and he’s very gracious . Bought tickets online but had to get in line at the box office to get the actual tickets for someone else to scan and let us in. Additionally, the experience was not a 360 degree view like other planetarium’s we’ve been to.

Walked out half way through the show. They no longer use the projector for projecting, just to hang a trans flag. I'm not sure what that has to do with space. Comfy chairs with speakers were replaced with garbage. If they over sell tickets, there are lawn chairs they pull out. Theater was filled with small children who could care less about constellations. Thank god the tickets were only $11. Digital imagery was terrible. Show started 10 min late with little kids crying. Just a horrible experience all around.

Went to Beautifica. Show was amazing. Sitting was awful though and I hated the new plastic lawn chairs that replaced the old reclining ones. I literally thought I had come in during renovation and the chairs must be temporary. I was wrong and those hard, non comfortable chairs are the ones they actually wanted. I did not get a full screen of Beautifica as my chair did not allow it. I mean can we start a GoFundMe for proper chairs or something?

We accidentally purchased tickets to a CC show on Black Holes. The CC was huge and really distracted from the visuals so unless you are hard of hearing avoid those. That was our fault. The show was very good but the seats were terrible esp if you are a shorter person. My wife was extremely uncomfortable and left with a sore lower back and a headache. Not the experience we remember from the days of great seating. We would love to return but not until the seats are replaced.

I went there for the Pink Floyd laser show for the first time probably since the 80s. It's all changed. The chairs are absolutely and extremely uncomfortable. The basically kind of cheap lawn chairs. There is no proper ventilation in the theater area. I had to leave! There is no refund so I count my losses! I just explained that I will not ever come back. And I am very serious! Very very terrible experience. Why they ripped up those chairs that they had with the speakers on them from several years ago I don't know. But with the improper ventilation in the theater and the uncomfortable chairs experience! I definitely will not be going back

We recently went for the Mesmerica show. The planetarium was conveniently located with plenty of parking. Inside there's hands on things to experience before entering the actual dome area. Inside the dome area, there's chairs that resemble/feel like outdoor cloth lawn chairs, where the upper half reclines to allow better viewing of the ceiling and surrounding area. There is no leg/foot rest to the chairs. The room is quite chilly, so dress appropriately. The bathrooms are in the back of the building and maybe not the most conveniently located. Overall, a nice place to visit.

First time here and it was amazing! We went to the Holiday Laser Show. Classic Christmas tunes both instrumental and lyrical were synchronized with beautiful laser displays. Seating was comfortable and socially distanced. Fantastic kick off to the holidays!

Discover the historic Genesee Brew House, a renowned brewery in Rochester that has been operating since 1878. Despite its association with classic beers like Genny Light and Original Cream Ale, the brewery offers a wide variety of brews. The adjacent three-story Genesee Brew House provides an opportunity to savor their beers and enjoy delectable food. Don't miss the chance to take in stunning views of High Falls and the Rochester skyline from the rooftop.
The Genesee Brew House regularly appears on online lists of the best places to eat in Rochester and for good reason. The food and drinks are absolutely delicious and the service is very friendly. Prices are reasonable. The restaurant has amazing views of High Falls and downtown which makes for a very nice dining experience.

I was visiting on a business trip from Texas. The venue is great. Get a reservation to sit on the balcony and see the waterfall. We tried a few different beers and they were all good. Food was okay but rather typical. Beer was the focus. Enjoy
Christopher M — Google review
A friend recommended Genesee Brew House after I mentioned wanting to check out downtown Rochester. We ordered the mushroom burger and the Spaetzle Mac & Cheese. Maybe my expectations were a bit high because it came so highly recommended, but overall, I was disappointed. The burger was overcooked, and for $17 I was surprised it came with chips instead of fries. You can substitute fresh fries, but it costs an extra $3, which feels a bit much. The mac & cheese had good cheese flavor, but it was so heavy and rich that it was hard to finish — it tasted more like something reheated in a microwave than freshly made. The service was also just average — not terrible, but not particularly friendly or attentive either. The view from the place is nice, but for the food quality, service, and price, I don’t think it’s worth it. If I go back, I’ll probably try something else on the menu.

Great brewery! We walked through the enormous gift shop, learned a bit about the brewery and headed straight to the tasting room. We had a flight of 5 beers which were all amazing! Ended up buying crowlers of the chocolate ale, so delicious!

Whether you live here or are visiting Rochester, this is without a doubt the place to eat. It's casual, the food is always good, the atmosphere is congenial, and the view of the high falls is simply wonderful. Any time of the day, you'll enjoy it.... from the restaurant to the roof to the gift shop to the tasting room, it's just a joy. Therefore,go and enjoy

Oldest Brewery in New York State. Amazing experience love going here for the 4 dollar pints and a pretzel. Huge bar and many tables for dinning, decent food options. The shop downstairs is awesome with great options for everyone. Sweet place to bring people who are from out of town. Good spot to meet friends and family.

The Lamberton Conservatory, located in Highland Park, is a modern reconstruction of a 1911 building that houses a diverse collection of plants including palms, ferns, exotic tropical plants, and desert cactus. Despite its seemingly small size, the conservatory offers a wide range of unique and mesmerizing plant species that thrive within its glass walls. It provides an escape from the cold weather and offers a tropical environment for visitors to enjoy.
Awesome conservatory! There are many tropical plants, trees, and flowers! Also many turtles, tortoises, mice, birds, and koi fish can be seen throughout. Wer were here in summer and saw some plumeria flowers, various cacti, and other really neat plants. They've done a great job here, and the entry fee is very cheap. Definitely worth checking out!

Nestled along the shores of Lake Ontario, the Charlotte Genesee Lighthouse is a captivating piece of history that dates back to 1822. Standing at an impressive 40 feet tall, this lighthouse not only served as a crucial navigational aid for ships entering the Genesee River but also offers visitors a chance to ascend its tower for breathtaking views over northern Monroe County and the expansive lake.
Constructed in 1822 of stone and decommissioned in 1881 and then returned to active service in 2014, the Charlotte Genesee Light is a lovely example of some of the earliest lighthouses. 40 feet tall and in an octagonaly shape it is next to but not attached to the keeper's house. The light was originally lit by whale oil lamps but those were replaced by a proper Fresnel lens in 1853. Not open for tours on this late weekday afternoon but the grounds are open and you can have a proper walk around. Even on a somewhat cloudy day, it is a beauty! There are a number of captions and other things to see on the property including the original well, the original keeper's house and more.

We visited on Easter Sunday. The lighthouse was closed, but it was nice to be able to still walk around outside and read the boards. The lighthouse is beautiful and a true piece of history along the Erie Canal. Parking is directly at, around the lighthouse, so unlike other lighthouses there isn’t a long trek to the actual lighthouse. Would be great for someone who would have trouble making the hike up to a light house, but would still like to have the experience. Thankful to have had the opportunity to visit.

Bowling alley
Radio Social, located in the Stromberg-Carlson warehouse on Carlson Road, is a recreational hub that offers a unique adult play experience. This 40,000 square-foot facility pays homage to its history of radio production during World War II. It's not just your average bowling alley; it's an urban social destination with sleek design, top-notch food, craft cocktails, and various games for a memorable date night or outing with friends.
We’ve been here many times for trivia, bowling, etc. but this is the first time we’ve come for brunch and it’s now our new favorite! Everything is super flavorful. Recommend the crispy potatoes as a side and the Turkish coffee (not pictured). We started with the deviled eggs which have crispy pepperoni. They were so good and we ate them so fast I didn’t snap a pic! The duck duck biscuit and chopped cheese were also really great as main dishes. Not a single disappointing part of the meal.
Carson D — Google review
The ambiance is fantastic, and the food is delicious. However, securing a bowling lane can be a bit challenging especially on the weekends. The bar staff and the gaming counter staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. It’s an excellent spot for a date night or a family gathering.
Ali A — Google review
Went here with a group. We were assigned to the "front lanes" which were quiet and fun away from the other lanes in the back. The bar and food were great with attentive and friendly staff. Great for the family and adult gatherings. Our group had a great spread of food and there was complimentary water. Clean facilities and guest areas. This was my first time there and definitely will be going back. Great time had by all.

Radio Social does a great job! The atmosphere is great, building is clean and well attended to, staff is friendly, bowling is fun and food is delish! These may be the best wings in Rochester! Nice job, guys and gals!

We played bowling and then ate for a friends birthday, it was a huge success. Would recommend. The food was very good, we ordered the lamb, halloumi, feta pizza and babaganoush. Most of us enjoyed our drinks, they aren’t very sweet, but are very one of a kind and exquisite. The server was super nice. The water was delicious! Overall slightly overpriced but worth it!
Simrun R — Google review
Really love this place! We’ve been twice to bowl, once to eat. Minor issue with the screens not working, but they comped our visit - it’s not about falling down, it’s how you recover, and they were so nice and proactive and apologetic. Service in the restaurant was great. Food is good. Lots of larger groups have parties here, and during the winter months they have an awesome flea market on Sundays!
Karen H — Google review
Had been to this place for the 2024 New Year party, and it was really great! We played bowling for a while and enjoyed the pizza and fries. Then, I enjoyed the live music till the clock ticked 12AM. This place is really great for hangout. It has definitely become our hangout place already!
Akshatha K — Google review
Went for Sunday brunch. I thought it was all very good, but not perfect. We got a lot of items. The lemon waffle was delicious and delicate, though very sweet, I couldn't have more than a small amount. The crispy potatoes were wonderful and the dipping sauces were delicious. The pork schnitzel itself was a little underwhelming, but it was in a delicious bed of some kind of sauce. The lamb pandensal was very tasty but a bit salty. The crab dip was wonderful. The breakfast pizza seemed small and maybe on the dry side, but was tasty overall. The house donut was a perfect treat to end the meal with. Their coffee was pretty good too, it's nice to see that there's attention to details like that. I also enjoyed the Pimms cup I had. One thing I found quite disappointing was the khachapuri. I've had Georgian cheese bread before and this was not it. The dough was flat, dense, and chewy. It felt like they tried to use some kind of pastry dough maybe? It felt undercooked. The bread is supposed to have a nice crispy crust and a bready, fluffy filling.

Nick Tahou Hots is a renowned eatery in Rochester, NY, famous for creating the iconic 'Garbage Plate.' This legendary dish features a choice of protein such as cheeseburger, hamburger, Italian sausage, steak, chicken, or hot dog piled on top of a mix of fries, beans, and/or macaroni salad. The entire plate is typically smothered with local hot sauce and mustard.
Nick Tahou Hots, a Rochester institution known for their Garbage Plates, has an exterior that may give you second thoughts, but don't let that deter you from experiencing the delicious food within. I recently tried their cheeseburger plate and was thoroughly impressed. The generous serving of juicy burger patty, topped with melted cheese and accompanied by a mound of perfectly cooked home fries and macaroni salad, was a satisfying and flavorful meal. Once inside, the ambiance shifts from the initial impression of a condemned building to a cozy dining room and bustling kitchen. The staff was friendly and accommodating, enhancing the overall dining experience. The service was prompt despite the busy lunch hour, and my order was served hot and fresh. Overall, Nick Tahou Hots exceeded my expectations with their tasty cheeseburger plate and efficient service. While the exterior may need a bit of sprucing up, the food and atmosphere inside more than make up for it. I would recommend giving Nick Tahou Hots a try for a true taste of Rochester comfort food at its finest.

Everyone working was really friendly. The food is ready quickly and tastes absolutely amazing. Prices are reasonable too. It's nothing super fancy looking inside but they have tons of seating available and you can sit at the counter too and watch the chef at work. Highly recommend stopping by and grabbing a garbage plate if you are nearby.

After hearing so much about it, I have to say I'm a little disappointed. How is this place the most well-known restaurant in all of Rochester? That being said, it was indeed food. It tasted fine and it did fill me up! It does, however, win the award for worst-looking restaurant I've ever seen. I assume they are aware of this but wear it with a badge of pride. Surely a two-star review like this one means nothing to a place that creates this kind of vibe haha.

It's the perfect dive. If they served alcohol, it would be a dive bar. Using that criteria, it's a 5! Everything i expected and more. Got the garbage white hot plate. Yummy.

Love this place. It's been 25 years since I've lived in Rochester and I stopped in during a visit, the place hasn't changed a bit!! It's exactly the same! Except it was clean 😂. Garbage plates were great, still got the big fork and spoon on the wall, old drinking fountain, old candy machine, menu, payphone. I love that it's never changed. Same surly cooks working 😂. Don't ever change Nick Tahous!!

This is the best food option I've experienced in months. The owner Alex is so kind and so are the employees. The Garbage plate is delicious!! And you can get a vegetarian version. I would recommend this to anyone coming to Rochester. Really good value, you get a ton of food for the price. I'll be eating the rest for breakfast. I was kind of having a difficult week having a meal here turned it around. I will be coming back.

This is a lovely park. I came for the lilac festival this year. I didn’t see any lilacs, nor anyone selling anything lilac related, except for the “official lilac festival merch” shirts and sweatshirts, clothing. No bouquets or lilac flavored or scented items. There were a lot of nice things despite not seeing lilacs. There were nice items for sale. I loved the metalworks and I got a metal lizard that I’ll display outside my home in the backyard. Despite not seeing lilacs in the park (they- the lilacs were all around in the neighborhood around the park - in the people’s beautiful manicured gardens) I did see other beautiful flowers and interesting trees to photograph.

Highland Park Diner is a classic '40s-era boxcar diner located in Rochester, NY. Despite its old-fashioned feel and traditional menu selections, the food is top-notch. The diner offers a wide selection of all-day breakfast options, including delicious breakfast wraps and pancakes. However, the real highlight at Highland Park Diner is their hand-dipped milkshakes and homemade desserts.
Food was phenomenal. Had homemade salsa and it was the best hands down. Atmosphere was cozy and definitely felt like I took a trip to the past. Service was spot on.
Janet T — Google review
I had high hopes, but in the end, i was drastically disappointed. We went in as a group of 5 and only 1 of us had an enticing meal. The chocolate chip pancakes: dry and bland batter. The side for those pancakes were turkey sausages for $5.99… more like two mini pinky toe sausages… so not worth it, they were tasteless. The chicken and waffles: small, cheap chicken (they were chicken tenders) and one dry, bland waffle… for $16… what a joke. The highland skillet: the seasoning didn’t exist… salt and pepper doesn’t come to mind at this diner i guess, and the gravy was flavored so peculiar. The steak and egg sandwich: also unseasoned, but once it was drowned in ketchup it was edible. the breakfast burger: the only meal worth the price and was moderately seasoned. Overall the food was just underwhelming, but let’s get to the drinks… the milk was in a smaller cup and was priced at $3.99 and i didn’t even get a refill. the iced coffee, which was in a larger cup, was priced at $3… and the milk was barely cold. I was crying inside. I left still hungry and sad… I expected more. See pictures as proof.

All around excellent diner! So many choices and the food was delicious! The owner very gracious and our server was so nice too!!
Elizabeth G — Google review
As locals, we surprisingly haven't tried this restaurant until earlier today, and though it's cute and the service was prompt, the reviews had us hopeful for far more than what we received. With the purchase including a Dr. Pepper, a vanilla milkshake, a burger (medium) with fries, and a vegetable skillet with medium poached eggs, the total came out to ~$42 before tip. Unfortunately, I have to agree with the customer who found the flavor to be lacking, as did my spice-averse companion. Though each table comes equipped with salt, pepper, mustard, ketchup, red hot, cream, sugar, butter, and jam packets, the food itself... did not seem to be seasoned at all. The burger was juicy, but lacked any real flavor, the fries were okay but lackluster, the milkshake barely tasted of more than cold frothed milk, the home fries didn't seem to have any flavor beyond oil and potato, the vegetables tasted only of the lightly-sautéed veggies and oil (with a little bit of vinegar from the artichokes and red peppers), the eggs were soft poached and fresh, but flavorless - the only real seasoning flavor in the skillet was Asiago cheese, and frankly the white bread with grape jam was the most flavorful part of the experience, even after liberal salt, pepper, and hot sauce. The saving graces were that the diner was clean, service was prompt, the atmosphere was cute, and everyone was marginally friendly. Still, it isn’t someplace I would visit again barring someone else taking me, and it isn't someplace I'd recommend to friends or family. If seasoning isn't really your thing, though, this would probably be - unironically - great for you. I don't fault staff in the least, and frankly think everyone there likely deserves a pay raise for the efficiency they displayed - we tipped > 20% because of the staff alone, and because we don't feel that decisions made by the owner oe management should impact the staff's take home pay. The experience was just lackluster overall. Something I'd be okay with from a 3 star location, but not so much from a diner rated close to 5 stars.

Good classic diner with healthy breakfast portions. Service is good and old style car atmosphere.
Kevin M — Google review
Fairly old diner old style diner so inside is kind of a retro. It's old so it looks old but there's no cleanliness issues that I saw the bathroom. There's two bathrooms but they are small but there are two. At least I'm on to the food. I would be like to get the smoked salmon which comes with a bagel. Very good smoked salmon and a decent amount where you can put it on the bagel with the cream cheese and then we still had extra. So I would keep the lettuce to wrap up the rest of the salmon and eat the rest of it so you get a pretty good amount of salmon for. I think it was like 13 something. I also had some some other omelet dish that was gyro or something with feta cheese which is good and my wife had pancakes once and some other item I don't remember. But again, we've been back at least two or three times and we enjoyed the food. Each time. The milkshake was very expensive at like $89 and it was just okay so I would say maybe don't get it unless you really want a flavor

This diner is amazing. Housed in a authentic dining car. The menu is monstrous with amazing selections. The restaurants cleanliness was a 10 plus and also the rest rooms. Potato pancakes were delishious and home fries were real potatoes with skins cooked to perfection. Highly, highly recommended!!!

High Falls, a stunning natural waterfall located in the historic district of Rochester, is a must-see for any traveler. Plummeting 96 feet into the Genesee River, this breathtaking site not only showcases nature's beauty but also tells the story of Rochester’s industrial past as it once powered local mills that earned the city its nickname "Flour City."
We brought our own picnic. High Falls is a lovely location, clean and attractive, with a rich and colorful history!

What a hidden gem right in the heart of the city! High Falls is such a unique spot. It's not every day you find a waterfall nestled within an urban landscape. The sound of the rushing water is like natural therapy, incredibly calming and refreshing. High Falls Terrace Park has a small parking lot on site, but spots are limited. We enjoyed walking around the area and taking in the views from the terrace lookout spot. A peaceful break from the city hustle, and definitely worth a stop if you're in Rochester!

Beautiful part of the city. Went during the fall with a friend and the fall foliage with the falls + little canyon is gorgeous! Definitely recommend visiting. Only issue is it isn’t in the best part of the city, I felt uncomfortable leaving my car parked for too long and they were definitely people up to no good walking around. But no one bothered my friend and I. People definitely smoke around here

If you're looking for a waterfall, literally in the middle of Rochester, whichyou can see from a neat bridge that spans the Genesee River, you have found it right here. This is a surprising sight and it's also super cool. Parking nearby isn't great, but it is possible. Lots of neat photos ops. You'll have to dodge skaters, bikers, and Marijuana smoke.

Nature & Parks
Durand Eastman Park is a sprawling 977-acre county park designed by landscape architect Bernard H. Slavin in 1888. The park boasts five lakes, with Durand and Eastman Lakes being the most prominent. Visitors can explore the arboretum, which features a variety of mature trees in different valleys. Additionally, the park offers trails for hiking and walking, including a section of the Irondequoit Lakeside Trail that provides a challenging workout.
The serene, picturesque scenery is forever changing and is perfect to while away the hours in all four seasons. There are bbq’s, picnic tables, ample parking and beautiful trails to explore. The only gripe I have are the irresponsible dog walkers who ignore the signs to keep their dogs on leads.
Shazbo — Google review
I always knew about the trails and lakes at Durand Eastman Park but all I have to say is wow. I'm big on fishing and I was there last week for the first time in years and it is beautiful. The water is clear and out of the multiple little lakes that are there each one has multiple different areas where the fish like to hide out and relax. I am glad my irondiquoit raised wife showed me this spot. Very relaxing and chill. I'm dreaming of the time I go back...definitely on Monday or Tues 10-13 or 10-14. The beach is also great now that its back in action. I am addicted to this area of irondiqoit now.

Took my dog here while traveling and staying in hotel. It was a great place to walk. This was during winter and trails were clear which made walking through snow easier.

Great park for viewing Fall colors. We hiked both loops that go around Eastman and Durand lake and got amazing photos. There is also a small beach access near the parking lot for catching sunsets. Great time to spend an evening.

Durand Eastman Park. Legend and Lore. Since the nineteenth century, Rochesterians have witnessed the White Lady, Lady of the Lake, or Eelissa gliding through the area that is now Durand Eastman Park, down the park’s adjacent roadway, or over nearby Lake Ontario. While the legend has many variations, there is a core narrative at the heart of the story. First, the setting. Many believe the White Lady lived in the so-called “Castle by the Lake” or “White Lady’s Castle”—now a pile of stones on the NORTH shore of the lake. We know these ruins, in fact, were never a castle, but rather a refectory (i.e., a dining hall for lake visitors). Regardless of its real history, its present-day crumbling, stony remains evoke the eerie feeling of a forgotten gothic castle, which in turn inspires the pervasive local legend that surrounds it. Now to the legend itself. A woman and her daughter once lived near what today is Durand Eastman Park, some say in the White Lady’s Castle. One night the White Lady’s daughter went for a stroll on the lakefront and never returned. Ever since, the mother, clad in a white dress, her two wolfish white hounds at her side, has been scouring the lakeside for her daughter. The grief-stricken White Lady either searched until she perished herself or holed up in her castle and died alone of a broken heart. The White Lady’s crumbling castle is all that’s left of her in our mortal realm. But especially on misty nights, locals report seeing the White Lady’s ghost shimmering over the lake or wandering down the roadside. What happened to her daughter is a matter of some debate. Some say she ran away with a lover; others say she was killed. Some say she was killed by the very same lover she ran away with, while others say she was attacked by a gang of men. The White Lady seems to believe a man was involved, one way or another, as the White Lady is said to be spiteful to men but protective of women, and no fan of the park’s frequent romantic rendezvous. The legend is still very much active in oral tradition, frequently told in the Rochester area with regularly reported sightings. Supposedly even local police officers have encountered strange, unexplainable experiences around Durand Eastman Park. But unlike some ghostly hunting grounds, this one is free, open to the public, and welcomes and encourages visitors to experience the White Lady for themselves.

Was in Rochester for a camp at Eastman this summer and legit stopped in at Javas every day of the week. Was obsessed with all of the art on the walls, and the menu variety. Ordered a latte with Irish cream and it is by far the best cup of coffee I have ever tasted. Super friendly guy greeted us at the counter each day and made sure we were taken care of. Staff is incredible, efficient, accommodating. Can’t wait to be back.

The tea and desserts are always great. I just want to thank the staff for helping me this eve. A person in the street told me they were cold and hungry. I have seen this guy around for many years and will usually give him food. So I gave him my rice krispy treat. He then told me he was cold and wanted a coffee. So I told him I would get him one. Went back to Javas and told them that I gave away my rice krispy treat to someone who told me he was hungry and that I needed a coffee for this person outside. They wouldn’t let me get it because this person is banned from javas and always scams people. They replaced my rice krispy treat that I gave away for free. So Thank you to the staff for looking out for me. Im sorry if this review doesn’t belong here but I appreciate the staff and wanted to say Thank you.

Can’t get a cup of *hot* coffee in the winter. Every cup that takes cream is turned into room temperature coffee. Keep your creamer out of the fridge nightly so its room temperature when dispensed. Repurpose the leftover creamer when done. Eat the cost. You can’t compulsively march to the McDonalds coffee lawsuit temperature thingy and serve hot coffee in the winter at the same time.

Very nice spacious cafe with lots of interesting art deco, close to music school so interesting for people watching as well. The cappuccino I had was meh, but my husband said his espresso was good. We had a strawberry lemon tart that was tasty. Oatmeal raisin cookie was solid, ginger molasses was fine (my husband enjoyed it, I’m not a fan), the chocolate chip was a letdown. Still an enjoyable experience though.

Corbett's Glen Nature Park is a serene escape nestled in Brighton, just outside Rochester. This enchanting park features winding trails that meander through lush woodlands, wetlands, and vibrant meadows, leading to a charming waterfall that serves as a perfect backdrop for photography enthusiasts. As you explore the well-maintained paths, keep an eye out for the diverse wildlife that calls this area home—native birds, deer, and even foxes may make an appearance during your visit.
This is such a beautiful little park with 2 small waterfalls, well-kept trails, and tons of wildlife. Most of the trails are easily navigable, even for someone with mobility issues like myself. However, the trails are not stroller or wheelchair friendly. There aren't any restrooms, but there are stores with public restrooms nearby. Park is dog friendly, but you are required to leash your dog AND clean up after it...not everyone is respectful of these rules. Definitely bring mosquito repellent, as there's a lot of water and dense forestation. Overall, this is a really peaceful, pretty place!

A great scenic area, not too far from the city of Rochester. Corbett's Glen has a few trails to explore, but I usually stick to the main pathway with the waterfall area and the tunnel. Park
Genesee Valley Park is a sprawling 800-acre city park in Rochester, originally designed by Frederick Law Olmsted Sr. and his firm in the late 19th century. The park features a variety of trails, multi-use athletic fields, an 18-hole golf course, and opportunities for canoeing along the Genesee River. It was strategically located to incorporate water features with wooded landscapes and rolling terrain.
You can’t go wrong when there’s a Frederick law Olmstead Park here… The designer of many beautiful parks in America… There was an 11° wind chill despite it being mid April when I was there - so not many folks were around, but it was beautiful nonetheless.

BEWARE OF THEIVES!! My fiance and I parked in the lot off Powers Rd. At 3:30 pm and took a short stroll from the parking lot to the bridge over the canal so I could see the fall leaves. He had just picked me up from the airport and it was close. Within 10 minutes we returned to a broken rear window and all my things were stolen including suitcase and carry on bag. There were only a handful of cars parked there and we had only seen 2 runners and one bike rider so it seemed like a quiet safe place. Don't be fooled like us. I'm just glad we didn't get confronted by who ever robbed us. They attempted to use my cards within the hour. It took that long to make a report and the police don't even respond in person. There are also no security cameras. Beware!!

I took my grandkids out in the evening since it was so hot during the earlier part of the day. This park has a golf course, walking/running trails, scenic routes with a bridge over the river, waterfalls, playground, baseball field and nice picnic areas/pavilions. You have to drive or walk through the different areas, because they are well spaced out. It was not crowded. The kids had fun and I was able to relax and enjoy the fresh air.

Beautiful park, scenic, and easy to get to! Great spot for nature photos! I did not see restrooms in the section we were in. The roads and walkways are clean and easily navigated. Plenty of free open parking! I love the bridge going over the river, such a beautiful view of other bridges and as the water was fairly still there was a beautiful reflection of the sky on the surface of the water! The trees are blooming and it's just breathtaking! Enjoyed a walk to stretch my legs with my daughter before heading to the airport. #scenic #river #green #blooms #familytime #park #free #beautiful

Play grouds: Nice play grounds for kids, but they are crowded. Parking: Free parking spots and you can park on the side of the road. Picnic area: 2 large shelters with a lot of seats. I believe you need to rent these before using. There are some benches in the open too, but they were busy too. Didn't see any grill. Restrooms: Near picnic areas. Trail: Nice long trail, but there were many bikers, and the traul was not wide enough, so we had to move aside for all bikers. The trail goes into the city area where UR buildings are and then goes back in. It's a nice place to walk and enjoy nature and the river. There are a lot of people kayaking, and we saw a beaver too.

The Central Library of Rochester and Monroe County is a notable attraction in New York, featuring a unique children's book section with an accessible secret room for wheelchair users. The library offers a diverse collection of books and exhibits an appealing architectural design with two parts connected by an underground walkway. However, the inconsistent operating hours, particularly during summer, may be perceived as a significant drawback, potentially limiting access for children.
Great library. It has everything you need, tech room with over 20 computers, 4 floors of actual bookshelves, great employees, lots of free services. Very close to public transport. Probably the best library I've visited in years.
Matthew L — Google review
It’s not really a library anymore! It’s a youth drop in and a social services center. There are absolutely no study spaces as every space is reserved for C.A.S.H. program. All the other space is geared towards youth, which is fine but as an adult student who pays taxes, i’d like a space to use as well; especially one that isn’t filled with homeless men coughing or plastic bottles. Lots of renovations are happening to the exterior of the older building while the interior is meh (to say the least). Lastly, the building is cold and the dividers do nothing to spare you from the noise. This is just not welcoming to all people in the city.

This was the most amazing meal I have had in quite some time! Everything was exceptional. I ate the elote before I remembered to take the picture, sorry. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wishing to have authentic Mexican cuisine.

Neno’s in Rochester is a fun to go to restaurant. Our experience there was average. Service was good and the servers were knowledgeable for food accommodations such as gluten free, vegan and vegetarian. Menus are labelled well. The tacos are good, they proteins tend to disappoint a bit lacking true Mexican flavours. They were more bland. The birria tacos were best. The nachos were stale unfortunately. As mentioned we liked the atmosphere but in order to improve I’d recommend to review the menu and make things more flavourful. The cost is high for what you get.

This place is amazing, point blank! My wife and I come up to Rochester from Philly at least once a year and Neno’s is a staple and a must in our itinerary. From the super flavorful house salsa and chips, to the classic appetizers and creative fusion entrees this place hasn’t disappointed, ever. We’ve tried the gauntlet of a menu with different apps and entrees. This specific time we shared the elotes appetizer (Mexican street corn on the cob) and the flavor and heat kick of the sauce on top was to die for. My wife had the Birria Torta and OMG, that crispy cheese topped, consumé soaked, brioche roll was unreal! Somehow it had a crisp to it with every bite and that consumé 🤌 (chef’s kiss). I had the Birria tacos and they too were super flavorful and authentic. However the only disappointing thing was that they removed one of favorite dishes from their newly updated menu, the fried pork chunks with rice and tortilla chips. We are customers and advocates of Neno’s forever. Keep up the great work and keep feeding the soul of Rochester!

I was going to take a date to Aguilera’s but the were closed. You’d think I was disappointed, which admittedly I briefly was, however my experience here was nothing shy of perfect right down to the food. Upon entering we were seated quickly by a very polite young man, who quickly brought water as well as our drinks, and quickly took our orders. Our food came fast and hot, the shrimp tacos and al pastor tacos were so succulent and flavorful, and very well seasoned. The hot sauce choices included a stiff cayenne based sauce that resembled Frank’s (but better), and my favorite, their pineapple habanero sauce, it was in house and it was absolutely fantastic! Mild complaint; you have to pay for chips and salsa, where most places have it for free, also 6 dollars for a Corona I can get down the road for 2 dollars less kinda burned but the food and service more than made up for it. I’d give more stars if I could. Lastly I’d like to mention that I’ve been south of the border and I’ve been all over the southwest, and these tacos absolutely beared a major resemblance in appearance and flavor, you can tell the cooks do their jobs with passion and are most likely immigrants, which is exactly what you want in a place like that! 10/5 stars, I will absolutely be back

Walk around and just absorb the energy and the beauty of this place.

Houses the Landmark Society so you can't tour the inside. Built in the 1800s it's an interesting building. The sunken garden behind the castle is unique and worth a quick visit.

Rented time for wedding photos at the Sunken Garden and wanted to find where it was. It was an absolutely magical place, even better than the pictures I’d seen online. As for the Castle itself, they had a sign that read “No public tours at this time,” so I wasn’t able to enter but will look to make reservations, if available to do so, in the near future.

The staff genuinely cares about every customer. It's rare to encounter real people who are truly invested in your experience. While it's easy to buy CDs and records online, why pay for shipping when you can discover a unique toy or the perfect baby shower gift right here? Supporting a local, caring community while finding your music makes all the difference.

We were so lucky to be able to book the Backroom Lounge for our 20th wedding anniversary! The space is amazing, with tons of seating, games to play, and a cool/quirky vibe. The staff was fantastic from set-up to helping us pack up the leftovers (catering options are AWESOME!) We had the best time and wholeheartedly recommend this venue! Thanks so much to everyone at Record Archive who helped create exactly the event we had hoped for!

Love this store. Record Archive is the embodiment of everything that is great about recorded physical media. You can get lost in this place, yet it’s beautifully organized so that you can find (usually) many copies of almost anything in existence. Fair prices, conservative record grading, and friendly staff. A great place to spend an afternoon for sure.

Very wide selection of various forms of media. Was able to grab several records that I have been looking for. Still rating 5 stars despite an experience I had with one of the employees when I came in on 8/24/25. I was in line waiting to be cashed out behind several other folks as the store was closing, and I forgot to grab an album I saw earlier and simply didn’t add to my pile. I ran back to grab it and as I was walking up the ramp to get back into the line, one of the workers yelled “We are closed.” Like yeah, I get it. I’d want to leave to if my job was closing for the day, but what did he want me to do? I couldn’t pay yet because no cashier was available, so I opted to go and spend more money. Additionally, I was already walking back up the ramp into the line. Just didn’t sit right with me as I then spent around $250. I’ll be back because of the available records and the other employees were great

Nestled on Titus Avenue in Irondequoit, the House of Guitars has been a beloved fixture in the local music scene since its inception in 1964. Founded by brothers Armand and Bruce Schaubroek, this legendary store began humbly in their mother's basement and has grown into the world's largest guitar shop. Spanning three floors within the Grange Hall building, it boasts an impressive array of instruments, records, clothing, accessories, and more.
A truly wild experience! If you are in the Rochester area and like music equipment, then this is a MUST stop! The whole building is dedicated to each aspect of music gear, from acoustic, electric, and bass guitars, drums, amps, keyboards, and more. There is also an album room that has to be 3,000 sq ft, filled, wall to wall with every album imaginable. The instruments are separated by room, and the rooms, passageways, nooks, and crannies, and intriguing, and seem, never ending! The owner and shop staff are great and highly knowledgeable.

Thank you everyone at the HOG!

We at least spent 2 hours at this place and got a few picks and gear from here while we were in the area. They also have amplifiers, keyboards, ukuleles, and much, much more. Their signature wall near the cd’s was sick as well. It’s worth checking out.

The Sunken Garden, located behind Warner Castle in Highland Park, Rochester, NY, is a popular spot for wedding photos. The garden offers unique photo opportunities and is a must-visit site in the area. Warner Castle itself, built in 1854 as a replica of a Scottish Lowlands castle, adds to the charm of the location. While visitors can't go inside the castle, they are welcome to explore and take photos outside before making their way to the picturesque Sunken Garden.
Second Trip to Rochester, First Time to The Sunken Garden. It was early morning during my visit as a Solo Traveler. The sunken garden insights historic imaginations of all kinds as well. Not too much walking, and there are generous benches throughout the property if you need to rest. The house is an incredible gem as well.

Lower Falls Park is a beautiful city park located just north of downtown Rochester. While viewing the falls from different vantage points isnt easy, the park offers several spots to enjoy the waterfall from. With plenty of space to play and a tranquil atmosphere, this is an excellent spot for a peaceful afternoon stroll.
This place was really good we hiked around and saw the falls only down side was the bridge was under repair so couldn’t walk over the spillway.
P P — Google review
Small park and little walking and nice Fall view. I parked at Rose garden and took a trail walk to Lower Falls. It was a bit muddy after the rain. It was an easy walk and little misty when near the fall. It was not much at the park, just some seats and the view to the water. Good for a little short walk

Very dicy, and dirty, encampments, graffiti, garbage, and the over growth was to the point you couldn't see much...it was sad to see
Sandra H — Google review
If you want to catch king salmon this is your spot. A little treacherous getting down the non powerplant side but worth the danger to catch those big guys!
Shawn C — Google review
It has the potential to be one of the best parks in the city, but sadly it's just another park in Rochester that decays faster than it is maintained. Still worth exploring, but the excess of trash and lack of maintenance and revitalization is saddening, and frankly, makes it impossible to immerse yourself. Perhaps one of the most upsetting things about Rochester is that it usually falls short when it comes to taking care of the beautiful spots they already have. I'll always be perplexed by the fact that Rochester is a city that is dying for more tourism, but does not capitalize on the fact that they have two gorgeous 100-foot waterfalls right in the city. Three stars is generous, but that's because I'm sentimental.
Dave D — Google review
There was construction so we could only got to walk so far. There was no signage saying the trail was closed. Additionally the spots you could stop to see the waterfall were so overgrown the kids couldn't see anything. There is graffiti and trash everywhere. If you do hike down unsanctioned trails to get to the spillway it was a beautiful view!

Nestled just outside Rochester, Durand-Eastman Park is home to the intriguing ruins known as the White Lady's Castle. While it may appear as mere crumbling stone walls at first glance, this site draws visitors from across the nation due to its haunting legend. According to local lore, a ghostly figure of a reclusive woman roams the grounds at night in search of her missing daughter. To reach this captivating spot, head along Lake Shore Boulevard where you'll find parking near Lake Ontario.
My family and i love hiking here!! Spring, summer or fall we enjoy the trails all around the area, especially around the little lakes. Great for my little one, who's 3, and my oldest, 13.

A fun little place, but a bit smaller than I imagined from all the hype elsewhere. It's basically a single retaining wall that resembles a castle from on direction. If you climb the stairs to go "inside," there'd nothing above except a relatively open field.

We were driving Rochester to Flamington and found that the road is next to Lake Ontario, and observed so many cars parked in parking lots this is around 12 AM, we stopped and walked across listed lot of people talking. Suddenly we found a shore with lot of people having pit fires and enjoying their time. It’s a great place where we can spend good amount of time watching sky full of stars and also Lake Ontario unlimited waters. Pls do visit if you ever get a chance. Note: you can also watch meteor shower

The White Lady's Castle is really just an old stone wall with turrets across the road from Durand Eastman Beach. If you climb up the stairs to it, you can get a nice view of the lake, and there is a nice little wooded area.

We missed a showing of The Nutcracker due to inclement weather and tried calling the phone line and sending an email. We couldn't get through on the phone, but we did get an email back from a gentleman named Daniel who had us meet him at Will Call. He set us up with fantastic seats! Thank you Daniel!

Seen them play a few times, and they’re always excellent! Last Christmas we saw the Nutcracker at Kodak Hall, and this summer we saw them play along to Jurassic Park. Fun, nostalgic, and the orchestra is just fantastic. Sometimes we’d forget they were playing live—which I feel is high praise, because they just sounded exactly like the film. The audience was quiet and respectful, as well, which is always a plus. Highly recommend seeing them play!

Wonderful orchestra! The programs are lovely and the musicians are fabulous. The RPO was one of the reasons we moved to Rochester. It draws on great schools of music, and spins off delightful chamber music series too. Go to a performance and luxuriate in the greatest music ever written!
Jayne D — Google review
Went to see the little mermaid. The movie and orchestra were amazing. Big problem though. One water fountain that is operational in the whole place. No consessions or the bottled water that was said to be able to purchase on the website. I have been to a large number of events here and this is seriously a low point for the place. For the ticket price I would at least expect to pay $6 for a water when the even is 2 hours long and has an Intermission. Also no outside food or drink were allowed in either.
Jonathan R — Google review
Appalled that RPO would allow a musician boycott our national anthem.

I recently called and worked with Julia at the box office. I said I would like to see a show this fall and also gift some tickets to my parents. I asked what shows there were to pick from. I ordered beethoven and Chopin. She failed to mention the beethoven show was for tomorrow. That would have been reasonable to say" heads up this show I'm recommending isn't later this fall, it's tomorrow". By the time I checked the confirmation email the next day the show had already happened. I then called and spoke to Julia and instead of receiving any customer service to fix this she hung up on me! I think the wonderful and talented RPO deserve to be handled by someone better at the box office.

Gala Holiday Pops is always a good time. When we went around Thanksgiving, you had to prove you were vaccinated or tested recently if over the age of 12 and then everyone had to wear masks. I was happy that the ushers were asking people to pull thier masks up to keep everyone safe. The Pops this year wasn't as interesting for my 4 year olds first foray into the theatre but she did enjoy parts of it and we will try again next time!

I truly love this place! It is what Rochester should be proud of. RPO organizes amazing concerts, and you may get a discount with a student ID. Eastman students' concerts are free. You may find it hard to find the parking spot nearby, but there are always some parkings for pay nearby, or just park at the nearest streets for free.

Frontier Field, located in downtown Rochester, New York, offers a panoramic cityscape and hosts dazzling firework displays and community functions. This baseball arena, which debuted in 1996 as the successor to Silver Stadium, accommodates 10,840 spectators and serves as the home turf for various sports teams like the Rochester Raging Rhinos soccer squad, the Rochester Rattlers lacrosse team, and Minor League Baseball's Rochester Red Wings.
We have a wonderful local stadium supporting the Red Wings. We've been here for a few different occasions and the stadium owners seem involved with the community. The baseball and softball Little Leagues around town were able to walk around the fields; Hochstein Youth Singers sang God Bless America; our Cubscouts troop has an upcoming opportunity to be color guards; they hosted my work team event and the list goes on. We've also been there during the free swag promos, often times a wonderful surprise. We get there early (doors open 1.5 hrs before game time) and the wait is not long. It gives us time to roam around, get food, and get settled with our kids. Recently, we were at the induction of GM Dan Mason into the Hall of Fame. I could see the love of the game and the community from the speeches and the impact, as our family has been a part of the events hosted there. It's a great experience! Also, there's fireworks at the end of the evening games. Kids love that!
Jan N — Google review
I hadn't been to the stadium in a while and it was a good time for my nephews graduation. The seats were a little uncomfortable and could definitely benefit from bringing a stadium seating pad. But otherwise getting in and out of the stadium was very easy and the park was right nearby.

I'm not much of a baseball fan, but I had a really great time at the game. Parking even with construction was pretty organized. Concessions ran smoothly. Or at least I didn't experience a long wait. It is cashless, though, except for tips. I really enjoyed all the games between innings and Bruce the Bat dog of course. I had never seen the Star Spangled Banner "sung" in sign language before. That was so cool and quite beautiful. We had 3 foul balls hit toward us and my son's friend went home with a souvenir!

Nestled in the heart of Rochester, The Little Theatre is a charming gem that has been captivating audiences since its inception in 1929. This historic venue stands as one of the oldest continuously operating art-house theaters in the country, dedicated to showcasing indie and foreign films that often fly under the radar of larger cinemas. With its cozy atmosphere, The Little offers not just films but also rotating art displays and live music events, making it a vibrant cultural hub for locals and visitors alike.
My literal favorite place in Rochester, probably New York State, possibly the US. When reading their weekly newsletter or “Now Playing” area on their Web site, consider stepping outside of your comfort zone! Because I only watch films at The Little, I see an amazing variety when looking at my ticket-stub-mementos at the end of the year. If you choose to take advantage of the variety of The Little’s offerings, I promise you will not regret it. This theatre really cares about the community. This is a fantastic gem of a theater in Downtown Rochester. Art Deco styling that is fantastic. It's been refreshed but still holds onto parts of the original building. From the marquee out front, the ticket booth, concessions stand. Beautiful theater. Has a stage, not sure if they do performances. They do show a large variety of films. Seating capacity is just under 300. I'm glad that it is kept in such good condition.

Fantastic time seeing A Christmas Carol. Parking was easy to find (using the parking garage, cannot speak to lot). We arrived early and had a bite to eat and drink beforehand. The food was not worth the money at all, but the drinks were good. Didn't have high expectations for food at a theater but still. Everyone was super friendly, the theater was comfortable, and overall it was a great experience!

I love this theater. Its small yet cozy so it gives it an intimate element. You can a bite to eat or something to drink before and during the intermission of the show. I've been here many times and I've always had a wonderful experience.

This Theater is an absolute marvel! My husband and I go for my birthday every year because we decided to get each other "experiences" instead of things. We always have the best time. The Theater itself is beautiful and the seats are comfortable. They usually have themed drinks and snacks to go with the show at the bar. Do yourself a favor and opt for some culture and fun for your next gift!

We went too see the show “The Play That Goes Wrong” at Geva Theater. It was wonderful! We. loved it. Very funny and well done. We hadn’t been to a show at Geva in about 4 years, but we would definitely go again. The theater looked wonderful. The staff was helpful and friendly, and the theater itself was spotless. We had a most enjoyable afternoon and are already planning to go again in the near future. Thank you for providing a most enjoyable experience. Even the parking lot attendant went out if her way to make sure we were able to find a handicap parking spot!

Always enjoyable. Polite staff and volunteers. Parking is easy. Best part is there's not a bad seat in the house. Get there a little early and grab a snack/ meal and a drink from the great menu choices before the play..

I loved The Sancocho Show at Geva—truly the real deal. It felt like everyday living poured onto the stage with honesty, humor, and heart. The storytelling was raw and relatable, like sitting at the kitchen table with family, sharing truths and healing through laughter and tears. The performances were powerful, the dialogue was rich, and the cultural depth was soul-stirring. I left feeling seen, strengthened, and inspired. Thanks

Couldn’t say enough positive things about the staff, the theatre, and the shows. The talent of the performers is always fantastic. Good and drinks are good. A real gem within Rochester.

The Geva is a beautiful theater. The new production of "A Christmas Carol" leaves a lot to be desired. The story was lost among the special effects and comedy. I went expecting the old version they do every year only to find a totally changed play. I was sadly disappointed.

Charlotte Pier, located in the city of Rochester at the end of Lake Avenue, offers a perfect spot for water enthusiasts and nature lovers. Visitors can enjoy a fulfilling walk along the pier while listening to the soothing sound of waves. The area is bustling with various activities such as fishing, jogging, and leisurely strolls. Although marred by graffiti, the historical features like the lighthouse add to its charm.
The park was bustling with activity even though it was chilly after work. It's a wonderful place to go and decompress after work - no matter what season it is.

Where else can you marvel at our Creator's wonderful works, especially the water cycle wrapped up in the clouds. We gze at the sky as the cloud formations make us wonder about the questions God posed to Job. Job chapter 38, verse 336 & 37 asks: "Who put wisdom within the clouds Or gave understanding to the sky phenomenon? Who is wise enough to count the clouds, Or who can tip over the water jars of heaven...." Come to Charlotte Pier often and gaze in wonder!!

Beautiful beach area and pier. Excellent park for walking, bathing, and picnics. Easy access and parking. Great for families. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained. Pavilions are available for events.

Wonderful place to view Lake Ontario! And if you like taking photos of sunsets, sunrises or the moon, it’s great!

I loved this beach and the vibe. We spent the day in 70 degree weather, walking the pier, enjoying the sun and taking in some great views. This is a pretty clean beach and not too crazy. It does get busy, but it didn't feel too overcrowded. There were a lot of areas to picnic and enjoy a day at the beach with the family.

A nice place to walk and enjoy the view. In the summer, there are the occasional drunken boaters, unfortunately.
