The Old Mill District in Bend, Oregon, is a historic site that has been transformed into an outdoor retail hub featuring a variety of shops, restaurants, and a scenic riverside trail. The area also boasts art galleries showcasing diverse works from local artists and offers opportunities for visitors to engage in creative activities. Once home to one of the world's largest pine sawmills, the district now provides a vibrant shopping and dining experience with over 40 shops ranging from major brands to charming boutiques.
Today we've visited Old Mill District and we loved it!! A very nice mix of different kind of shops, great looking buildings and lovely artwork. This might just have become my favourite part of town!
M. M — Google review
There are great spaces here. You can have your pets, kids, bike, walk, enjoy the river or event listen to a show at the Amphitheater without a ticket. But, there is little diversity in the type of shopping you can do - and I don’t mean variety. Why they would develop this space and not have a place for quick and easy snacks, drinks or more casual places for dinning is beyond me; other than the price of the rent. I love REI and they are an anchor in this area and I love what they did with the store and what they offer. But I only found one place to simply stop and have a quick meal/snack and maybe a beer. A great location to stay in a nearby hotel and explore Bend but there was a reason people that came to the area had brought coolers and food from other places.
Ross A — Google review
This is a nice area along the river with walking and bike paths. Dog friendly. Lots of shopping and restaurants. Popular area for SUP and floating. There is a bridge to Hayden Homes amphitheater. Beautiful art and sculptures as well as history markers. Bend did it right with this area!
S L — Google review
We came from southern eastern Oregon and had a really lovely time here. We checked our REI, Lush, and Sweet tooth and did a little bit of walking around and very much admired the river. We ate at Anthony's because that's my husband's name lol but it was very delicious
Monique V — Google review
Love it!!! There is a variety of stores and good restaurants. There is a bridge when you can step and watch the water below, I believe is a river that goes below the bridge.
Teira P — Google review
Extremely Gucci place for rich people who are also proud of flexing their outdoor lifestyle. This mall has very bussin surrounding no cap. Ultra skibidi bridge too.
AddictedToRaids — Google review
This is a pleasant area featuring an outdoor mall along the river, with walking and biking paths. It offers a variety of shops and restaurants, with a directory available on the website. Free parking is available throughout the mall, though it can be difficult to find during peak hours.
Arjun 7 — Google review
I absolutely love this place and want to give it five stars, but they are really dropping the ball on the bathrooms this year and I’ve been coming here for years so that just makes me really sad to see. There is never toilet seat covers anymore, and every other night there is not toilet paper. I really feel like the old mill holds a higher standard than the way these bathrooms have been looking lately so I am very happy to return the five stars when they clean up. Other than that excellent shopping area excellent food area. But definitely have dropped the ball on an important staple of a shopping area: restrooms.

The Deschutes River Trail is a stunning 19-mile pathway that meanders alongside the picturesque Deschutes River, offering an incredible blend of urban and natural experiences. Divided into two main sections, one part runs through the vibrant Old Mill District, where visitors can enjoy shopping and dining while taking in scenic views. The other section extends from Farewell Bend Park to Riverbend Park, providing a delightful loop for hiking or biking amidst lush riparian landscapes.
Beautiful trails.. And it's semi hiking if you choose, or just a beautiful walk
Tracy M — Google review
Awesome sauce. Love this trail! So relaxing and nice to walk in nature. I highly recommend this to anyone
Shawn L — Google review
The Deschutes River trail is a very accessible 2.5 mile loop that starts from Farewell Bend Park. The park acts as a trailhead and has very limited parking so you may have to go to the other side where there is a larger parking lot. If you are lucky and get a space it is a beautiful Green Park with lots to do including a playground for kids and wonderful River access. The trail itself is multi-directional and is wide in most spaces. Conditioning required is limited with moderate hills and mostly flat trails. Many people utilize this trail for family walks or trail running. Dogs are welcomed the bikes are not. This is a purely pedestrian trail. Views are wonderful and it is a great way to enjoy some exercise. Essentially you hike a little bit over a mile into a bridge that loops you back the other way. Definitely a must-do. If you want to extend the walk / hike just continue through the park on the paved trails.
D. S — Google review
What a great trail right in the heart of Bend. You can walk across the river and around the city to walk as far as you want. The trail out into the woods and over the bridge is beautiful. Great place for your dog to hike and go into the water on warm days. We are here in October and the fall leaves were beautiful. We want to come back during the summer to tube and paddle board on the river. Bend has done a great job creating such a great community hub. Must visit if you are in Bend.
Lisa L — Google review
Awesome park. Lots of people walking the trail. Adults and children with their dogs. I saw a lot of kids walking with their teachers and watching nature. Lots of dogs. I loved walking right next to the river although I saw some bikers using another trail nearby. Beautiful trees and lots of birds.
Diana P — Google review
Always a favorite! This is a popular place: if you’re an extrovert, go on the weekend; if you’re an introvert, avoid the weekends. It’s a delightfully river-oriented trail with views much of the way. Some hills, lots of nice dirt underfoot with a few rocky spots, and lots of easy hiking overall. The Deschutes River is one of our prime gems of Central Oregon—don’t miss this trail for some easy exercise in beauty very close to downtown and the Old Mill.
Renge G — Google review
Went on a brisk walk after a fresh snowfall, mid-morning, and the sidewalk was already plowed! Thank you! Unlike Portland, we didn't see any trash or homeless camped there. Clean bathrooms too! Can't wait to come back in the summer to float!

Pub
Deschutes Brewery Bend Public House is a popular offshoot brewpub of the renowned craft brewery, offering locally sourced lunch and dinner options. The late summer hop harvest is considered the best time for beer drinking, with Deschutes Experimental 1320 standing out for its fresh pineapple and POG flavors. Established in 1988, this brewery's downtown public house on Bond Street was the first of its kind in Bend, Oregon.
This brewery is a reliable spot to grab a good burger and brew. Their in-house beer selection is fantastic. The brioche buns with their burgers are light and add to the burger experience. I didn't care for the Mac and cheese, it was a bit bland but if you stick with a burger you can't really go wrong. The atmosphere is fine, it can get noisy depending on where you're seated but it's never been overly crowded when I have been there. They do not take same-day reservations. The service is friendly.
Andrea A — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely loved our visit! The food and atmosphere were top-notch. We sat out on the dog-friendly patio and had a great time enjoying the summer vibe. Started with the hummus and pretzel appetizer—super tasty—and followed it up with a delicious pizza that hit the spot. I had a Cascade Kolsch Ale that was light and refreshing, perfect for a mid-summer day, and wrapped things up with their famous Fresh Squeezed IPA—definitely lives up to the hype. Our server was upbeat, friendly, and on top of everything. Great experience all around—we’ll definitely be back!
Nicholas G — Google review
This is a must see attraction in Bend, Oregon. There is an extensive menu at this award winning brewery. Great merchandise. The food was amazing, including the elk burger, double smash burger, the brisket, the mac n cheese, the beet salad. Only tip would be to ask for extra beets. We did two beer flights, including all of the light beers, and also the standard recommended flight. Our waitress Reese was so friendly and gave great advice on other things to do in the area. Highly recommend!
Ap V — Google review
Stopped in for a quick lunch and really enjoyed the experience. The service was quick, efficient, and friendly. The pretzel is a must-try—it came perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of salt and butter, and the warm cheese sauce was absolutely to die for. I also tried the fish and chips, which are prepared with breadcrumbs rather than a traditional batter. They’re on the drier side, so you have to be a fan of that style. I liked it, but next time I’ll probably try something else. Of course, the beer selection is fantastic—plenty of great options to pair with your meal. The restaurant itself is clean, well maintained, and has a ton of TVs, making it a great spot to catch NFL or college football games. Parking can be a little tricky since it’s mostly street parking, especially during busy hours, but we lucked out and got a spot right in front. Overall, a great visit and definitely worth coming back.
ASH — Google review
I needed a little snack to tie me over til dinner so we popped in here. We had the hummus platter and it was so good!! Loved all of it! Husband of course had to have one of their well-known beers and he quite enjoyed it. We sat outside under the sun cover and was refreshing.
Kim T — Google review
Probably not the typical experience, but we were seated outside on the end near the bank entrance. A server came out and took orders for a table that was seated after us. Never came by. The same server returned with drinks for that table and again didn't stop. Since this was about 20 minutes since being seated I picked up the menus and went inside. After being confronted the server said that the table wasn't in her section. We were seated in another section and did get service, but this place is a pass. The Morrocan steak fries were hit and miss. The meat was good and had abundant flavor. The fries were flavorless and not the hand cut mentioned in the menu. Would not go back.
Mark B — Google review
You’ll likely see this place on every list of best breweries in Bend, and for good reason! The place was popping! I’d recommend making a reservation as they’re busy! My spouse tried the sampler and really enjoyed all his bar. I stuck to a non alcoholic drink. Their food! OMG! I was really not expecting such good food! The pretzel and cheese dip with stone-ground mustard was heavenly! I even took a lactaid to enjoy the cheese and mustard! Their black bean burger was good too. I wish they’d serve fries instead of chips, but those were good too! My spouse tried their habanero wings and found it quite spicy! The wait staff were amazing too! This is do-not-miss place in Bend! 🙂
Swap — Google review
This was my first time at Dechutes Brewery. We stopped in for dinner. My boyfriend was wanting fish and chips. We were greeted upon entry and seated by the hostess promptly. Our server came over and asked us about drinks. While in a brewery I felt the need to try one of their offerings, though I do not like beer, I tried their cider. The cider is more of a dry and tart cider than others I've had before. I also tried their boneyard elixir which is a CBD drink thst is more like a bubbly water with CBD in it. We got appetizers and the Mirror Pond Artichoke Cheese Dip was incredible. 11/10 - one of the best artichoke dips i have ever had. The pretzel was cooked to perfection and the beer cheese was great. For our mains my boyfriend got the fish and chips - to die for, I wish I would have gotten that as well. I got the Black Butte Porter Sausage Sandwich - while the sausage and the bun where incredible I think I would have liked it better without the arugula and cheese sauce. The food was great, but we were stuffed and couldn't finish all of our dinner. The restaurant is large and had trivia going on upstairs while we were there, the dining room we were sat in was decorated as an indoor beer garden, lots of string lights and plants. Overall great experience and would dine here again.

Crux Fermentation Project is a popular brewpub located in a former transmission repair plant in Bend. The place offers over 20 taps, bar food, and a patio with a fire pit. It's beloved by the tattooed, dog-owning crowd and is known for its fenced yard that exudes Bend magic during sunset. For those interested in Bend's history, McMenamins Old St.
Wonderful brewery with a wide variety of great beers and styles on tap, plus special bottle pours like tough love or banshee series (all excellent). Cans and bottles for sale. Great atmosphere, plenty of indoor seating and large outdoor patio seating with a great view of the mountains, plus a fire pit. Taco truck food was just ok, wished I had ordered food from Crux , the pizza cart was closed when visiting. Friendly and knowledgeable bar service, tasters as well. plenty of parking. Trivia night seemed pretty popular. Worth visiting if you like/love beer.
C Y — Google review
Great place with ample seating and parking. We got a few beers, crux capacitor, bolchi bolchi and glow stick. The bolchi bolchi is very light and fresh. Loved it. They had a bunch of food trucks outside so we got some food and the outdoors was pretty chill.
Binit B — Google review
Still a classic Bend brewery worth visiting, even if their beers have leveled off in terms of innovation and excitement. It’s known for being family-friendly, which often means screaming children running around and dogs yapping. Good for a group hang but not my first choice for an evening out or chill afternoon.
Jacob S — Google review
Can a place feel like ohana… and serve killer NA beer? Ever walk into a spot and instantly feel like family? That’s Crux in Bend. Love this place… The family-friendly atmosphere is all time… Kids running around happy… adults actually relaxing… and zero uptight vibes. And here’s what sealed the deal for me… The food trucks outside.. The ice cold beer.. The crew at Crux makes you feel like ohana from the second you walk in. If you’re in Bend… go A must

Great beer. Limited food options. Scrappy outdoor area. Still worth a visit.

Stopped in her in our way through town, quiet the interesting way around to get there from the highway, they had a good selection of beers and food as well as three food trucks in the yard, I found it interesting that most of the outside tables were not level? They have a big yard with lots of tables some in the shade. The tacos from the food truck were excellent as well as the beers. I'm

Excellent service, they were very nice and quick. We got a bunch of different items to share between the 5 of us. The pretzel was a little over cooked and the taco dip was only luke warm. But the Philly cheese steak was good. Beers were tasty as well.

One of the best beer tasting rooms in Bend. Lots of indoor seating and a huge outdoor seating area. Great selection of draft beers in all styles. Lots of affordable cans to-go. Several food trucks and a restaurant inside.

The Deschutes National Forest - Forest Supervisor's Office serves as the administrative center for managing the expansive protected area. It emphasizes the importance of Leave No Trace principles, especially as Central Oregon experiences growth. The region offers abundant opportunities for outdoor activities, including dog-friendly hiking trails within the 1.8 million-acre forest. Additionally, visitors can explore the remarkable landscape formations at Newberry National Volcanic Monument, a highlight of Bend's attractions that showcases the aftermath of volcanic eruptions.
We drove through Deschutes during a road trip, and we were very lucky to catch a very sunny and warm day. The area is beautiful and very tranquil, so the drive was very pleasant.

Friendly, knowledgable, patient people who are passionate about what they do and super helpful, also probably the most overqualified front desk staff I've ever met. I would go here just to hang out with these people. Also seems like a super cool place to work if the people are like that.

Someone picked up the phone right away and seemed friendly about answered backpacking questions. I totally understand that they don’t want to/don’t have time to plan people’s backpacking trips for them. That’s not their job. But I was trying to keep my questions concise and logistical (in total, the call was less than 4 minutes) Anyway, he entertained them at first but seemed incredibly hasty trying to get me off the phone, interrupting to say “Is there anything else I can help you with?” And then hanging up as soon as I said “Uh, I guess not.” I was really surprised with the abruptness!

Pilot Butte State Scenic Viewpoint in Bend, Oregon is a must-visit destination offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city and its surrounding mountains. Accessible by car or hiking trails, it promises a memorable experience, especially on clear days. This unique attraction allows visitors to drive to the summit of an ancient cinder cone volcano within the city limits, providing unparalleled vistas of the high desert and Cascade Range.
I have wanted to drive up this trail, you can walk it in most people do, i'm a hospice companion, so I take clients up there, via vehicle, the view from the top is amazing you cam see all the Mountains from the top of there it is absolutely beautiful. They do have bathrooms at the top of the mountain, it is wheelchair friendly. I feel people of all ages would love it here. Ms. Loree

Beautiful views. I went on a warm, windy day, and it was amazing. The drive up is a little narrow, so drive slowly. There are people walking, running, biking, and driving up the path so be aware when you share the path. Parking wasn't too bad, but I can see how it could get packed easily. It's a nice spot to sit and take pictures. It was a nice visit and would suggest it to others.

Beautiful view of the city and surrounding mountains. You can drive to the top or hike up. Free (but limited) parking. If you choose to hike, use the separate trailhead and bring good shoes. I would not recommend using the paved road to hike up, it is extremely narrow.

Great views! The walk up is quite long and steep, we took the car all the way up and were glad we did. Kid, pet and wheelchair friendly.

Great short hike from the parking lot below. There is a playground at the lower parking lot and another trail that goes around the butte. The hike up has a wide path and many users. Many people walk up/ down the road as well. Great views from the top

Beautiful but also not much to do. If you do the hike up from the bottom, you'll definitely get your workout in, definitely recommend that. Unfortunately, I took the boring option and drop up, haha. View was nice. Touristy but not something out of this world.

Great downtown area to walk, window shop, and buy cool and unique things. Plus a lot of great eateries offering something for everyone. Bend, OR is 100% dog friendly and many shops have water bowls out for our furry family! 🐶 Also, it is a really easy walk to Drake Park which sits right at the Deschutes River and Mirror Pond, which offers natural beauty (see photo). Love the Atmosphere of Downtown Bend! The Santa Cruz type of Vibe, one has when in Bend really reminds me of when I was a child shopping and traveling with my Grandparents. Nice area to bring the family. There are a noticeable group of those that bring a dirty hippie feeling but they do seem to relegate themselves to a small corner of the downtown area and spew their causes, any hyped up event the can tie to social issues. Overall Bend's Downtown has great shops, Restaurants and Galleries! Wonderful Art Galleries that really bring the flavor of the region to the Forefront of spirit. Todd

I just don't understand with the items on the play ground ,( like the round thing that goes in circles) are made with metal. Hot burning metal. I burned myself on that with my grandson. When it's 95-105° that is very dangerous. I think that area should be covered for sure. Other than that , it's a great place for the family.

Just be careful using the Parking garage. The garage does not seem to be regularly patrolled. I work downtown, and regularly take the stairs. In the AM I often encounter homeless people sleeping in the stairwells which is very uncomfortable. The stair wells smell of urine. The downtown association needs to do a better job of managing and monitoring the garage which serves as the primary parking facility for the whole downtown.

Nestled within the vibrant city of Bend, Pilot Butte stands as a striking cinder cone volcano that beckons adventurers and families alike. This iconic landmark features a winding hiking trail that leads to stunning 360-degree views of the surrounding area, including the majestic Cascade Range and expansive high desert landscapes. While you could opt for a drive, nothing compares to the experience of hiking this prominent butte, which is visible from nearly every corner of Bend.
Looking for an outdoor activity for all with great views? Hike or drive to the top for incredible views of Bend & Beyond!

Very sad you guys don't have the funds to line the trails with other than with cut down trees that create a fire hazard. The stairs u put in even have rebar showing by the school. Trails are very narrow not a lot of room for passing. How far is it around the butt and only one bathroom unless you climb to the top.
Adam N — Google review
The butte itself was a cool experience to drive up since it was a constant curve that circles its way to the top of the hill. The lookout is cool from the top but there is nothing else there to see besides check out the view of bend and take a couple of pictures.
Joe D — Google review
Great view of the entire area, only downside I think is the hikers should have their own trail or a wider trail so it's safer for people/cars
Shane N — Google review
Took a drive up with the fam visiting Bend. Such a beautiful 360 overlook and a must for newcomers to the area. You can also go up as many of the locals do…walk!
Matthew P — Google review
Walking shoulder and driving lane to the top. Great views. Emergency restroom. Benches.
Clay M — Google review
A pretty nice lookout point at the top. A decently sized path up but I'm sure some would argue it is narrow. Parking is a hit or miss depending on the time as it gets busy later in the day when the sun is setting. The air quality being ok in Bend really kills the view since you can't see the mountains clearly and only make out the outlines.
William M — Google review
Pilot Butte is an absolute must-visit landmark in Bend, offering one of the best "big payoff for little effort" experiences in Central Oregon. This extinct cinder cone volcano, located right within the city limits, provides unparalleled 360-degree panoramic views of the region. The main draw is the breathtaking vista of the Cascade Mountain Range, including clear sightlines to the Three Sisters, Mount Bachelor, and Mount Hood on a clear day. Looking east, you see the vast high desert, and below, the entire city of Bend sprawls out. Getting to the top is flexible: you can drive the paved, seasonal road (closed in winter) or hike one of the trails. The hike is short—about a mile one-way—but quite steep, providing an excellent, quick workout. The summit features informative plaques to identify the surrounding peaks. The atmosphere at sunset is legendary, with the city lights twinkling below and the Cascade peaks glowing, though it can get very crowded. Whether you hike up to "earn your view" or drive for accessibility, Pilot Butte is a quintessential Bend experience and a perfect spot to appreciate the scale of Oregon's high desert landscape.

Water park
Bend Whitewater Park is an exciting destination for water enthusiasts, offering three different channels with varying rapid levels for tubing, surfing, and kayaking. The park provides a thrilling experience as surfers in wetsuits take turns riding the waves on the river. Visitors can also enjoy a calm, flatwater float and paddle southeast on the Cascade Lakes National Scenic Byway to Todd Lake.
Great fun on the river - third time here and always great fun. Put in at Riverbend Park - either bring your own tube or paddleboard or rent a tube there. There is a shuttle back from Drake Park ($5). Float leisurely down the river — have fun bouncing down the several rapids or simply step out and walk around and reenter the river. Highly recommend.
Matt C — Google review
First time to the Whitewater park. All I had was my white water paddle board, dry suit, helmet, and PFD. The water parks highlights include a very surfable river wave. I tried to surf it twice with my board and it barely worked. I think it’s better suited for dedicated small river, surfing boards. The wiggles were very accommodating and helpful. I also tried the Whitewater sections of the park. The other waves were difficult to surf on with the board and seemed more suited for a kayak. The inner tube section was runnable with my white water paddle board, but the ledges are very shallow, and the board would drag on each wedge. There’s a large flat water area below the rapids with limited flow as well as a large area above the rapids near the Hayden home amphitheater where people can paddle on flat water with minimal flow. I think it is an excellent addition and wish it existed in my current city. I think as far as a destination Unless you’re coming from someplace without any water access, you might be slightly disappointed. I think it is a great place to go river surfing if you were into river surfing or want to learn to river surf. I think for the local Whitewater community there, it is a great place to practice a few things with kayaks. For the general public, who wants to just go paddle boarding or swimming or tubing it is also a very fun addition. We got there early in the day on Friday and there was plenty of parking. By the end of the day, there was no parking available.

Oh man!! This place is a blast! It’s midway between Riverbend and Drake parks for the Bend float Good parking here Sometimes has food trucks The rapids are amazing! Easy and large for different skill levels

Best location of water floating. Kids go over and over repeatedly this part of river. Sometimes the current get kind of funny and kids get stuck here. It is also very funny lot of kids use their slippery as paddle. Bring a mini paddle will definitely help

The Sparrow Bakery Northwest is a popular and lively family-friendly bakery located in Bend. Established in 2006, it has become a must-visit destination known for its signature item, the Ocean Roll. This cinnamon roll-shaped pastry made from croissant dough filled with cardamom and sugar is a favorite among locals and tourists alike. The bakery offers an assortment of home-baked goods including Parisian macarons, coconut macaroons, and other pastries.
Popped in to see what all the hype is about. What's this whole "Ocean Roll" thing?🤷🏼‍♂️ Got mine to go cause I don't got time to sit around with all you people! Well... Well it's pretty awesome. It's like a croissant and a cinnamon roll had a baby in an East Indian spice market! 🤯This one item could be your whole business plan. Maybe it is? I'll probably never know cause every time I come back I'll be getting the same thing, "Ocean Roll please" 🙏🏻💥🙌🏼. Sooooo good 😋😋😋!
Carl O — Google review
This bakery opens at 8 AM, and by the time we arrived around 8:10 AM on a Sunday, there was already a line for orders and a few tables were taken. So, if you're on a tight schedule, I’d recommend coming as early as possible. We ordered the Ocean Roll, both bacon and non-bacon sandwiches, and a cappuccino. The coffee took a while to be served, so keep that in mind if you're in a rush. The sandwiches were good, and the croissant was fresh and flaky — though a little seasoning on the avocado would have made it better. I didn’t personally enjoy the Ocean Roll, but my husband liked it. It was fresh with a sweet, subtle cardamom and cinnamon flavor. The place itself is cozy and beautiful, and the staff is friendly and welcoming.
Anu R — Google review
The food is as good as they say it is, the ocean roll and coffee are really great, and the breakfast sandwich with arugula aioli is almost an experience on par with eating mac and cheese for the first time. Service is astoundingly fast for how much business and orders they take, went on a Saturday morning during a concert series and this place was pumping stuff out. Phenomenal. This place has a great look, and is great to meet up with friends or family, and there are dogs all around the place if you enjoy the puppy pals.
Devin ( — Google review
My 2nd time in Bend and this place is a must! The food is so good and the treats even better. This time I got the lemon tart, but last time I got the chocolate caramel one and it has lived on in my memory ever since. I want to try their drinks soon as well. The coffee is strong and flavorful. 10 out of 10
Megan W — Google review
It could not have been any worse. I hardly ever write negative reviews about local businesses, but this one really annoyed me. We were brought to Sparrow Bakery by people who had spoken highly of it. There was even a line out the door and lots of people seeming to enjoy their food. I walk in with my family to look at the menu and am taken back by the prices. I wanted to wait until I had had a chance to dine here to see if they were justified, sometimes portions can be large. We order our meal which was a bagel w/ lox, seasonal fruit cup, and poblano breakfast muffin and wait. 15 minutes go by and still no food, although others in our group had gotten theirs. We ask a girl behind the counter who says it is being made right now. According to her, "The fruit bowl is being prepared fresh for us." Another 15 minutes go by and still no food. I go to ask her again and now with an attitude she says they lost our ticket. She offers to make our food now and to refund it but says it will take 5-10 minutes. Within 2 minutes this pathetic little cup of fruit is brought out in a coffee cup. I attached the photo in case you wonder what $8 will get you here. I have seen better presentation on an airplane. Then the food finally comes out, pretty sure my sandwiched was microwaved 30 seconds before as it had the chewiness of a leather glove. The bagel and lox had pickled onions on it, as if we were having tacos or something. The same girl brought our food and could not have been ruder. Not a single ounce of remorse. I don't know if she was having a bad day, but it was some of the worst customer service I have seen. Even if it had come on time, the value is just not there. I am sure people will keep buying it though. Just not me.
Chris H — Google review
Have loved this place for years, but the life span has apparently run its course here. I tried to order the famous Ocean Roll, but was told they were sold out. Then the people two spots behind me in line throw a fit and mysteriously 6 Ocean Rolls appear from the kitchen. But that's not the end. We ordered a hot Matcha latte, wait 20 minutes, and found chunks of unprocessed matcha powder floating throughout. The food arrived, 48 minutes after ordering, the breakfast sandwich was the third monstrosity to arrive. The bacon was burnt black, the aoli was a joke and there was enough arugula to feed an army of rabbits. Then there is the croque. Essentially on Wonder Bread. Uncooked Safeway ham and burnt black cheese meet enough mustard to cover an Octoberfest. RIP Sparrow, we won't be back.
Bradley B — Google review
Very impressive to see how packed it was at 8am on Sunday. lt almost felt like it's the only breakfast place opened in Bend. It was so busy that all available tables was left dirty for next customers. Very delicious sandwiches!.

I have loved this park and trails since I was a very young child. As a girl scout, we planted trees after the Aubrey Hall fire that threatened to burn down the city. Now I can see them still growing as a 45-year-old woman. The beautiful connection you feel in this park is hard to describe in words. But it is a piece of heaven we call Earth.

Shevlin park is somewhere we would visit every summer growing up when visiting family in the area. They have great trails, fishing, picnicking, and even slow spots where you can get in the water. Shevlin park has a teepee that you can check out and go inside of, they have more than one trail, good for bike riding, dog walking, fishing. I remember having picnics here as a kid and I still come back as an adult when in the area. They trails are low impact and fairly flat.

This is a gorgeous park, whether you're new to Bend and getting to know what Central Oregon is like, or even if you're a local who is familiar with the unique landscape. It's not too far from the city area itself and located in a wealthy part of town, but accessible to any person who wants to check out the nature. A good place to walk and observe the world around you, and especially beautiful in the autumn season, even though it can get quitw chilly. People like to take their dogs here, or even take pictures of the lovely landscape.

Creekside Park is a peaceful and picturesque spot, perfect for a relaxing walk. The flat trails are easy to navigate and follow a quiet creek lined with trees. A charming bridge crosses the water, making a great place to pause and enjoy the view. Birdsong fills the air, with woodpeckers tapping in the trees and butterflies floating by. It’s a great place to unwind, watch wildlife, and enjoy a bit of calm.

Sisters Coffee Company - Old Mill is a stylish coffee shop located in the Old Mill District, offering house-roasted coffee drinks and a selection of light lunch options such as pastries and sandwiches. It's considered to serve some of the best coffee in central Oregon, making it a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. The espresso is particularly praised for its smoothness, making it a great choice for those looking to indulge in a quality caffeine fix while shopping in the area.
There will most likely be a line in the morning when they first open. This location is cute, and quaint. They have a wide variety of drink and food options. The staff are kind and knowledgeable. There is seating available, but it fills up fast. This is located within the Old Mill outdoor shopping mall so there is plenty of parking, which means that they are typically pretty busy! The mocha I ordered was fantastic and their breakfast options are delightful. No bathroom inside the shop, but there is one just around the corner, behind the store for public use with multiple stalls for the ladies.

A good breakfast place for coffee, pastries and breakfast items. Friendly customer service. It can get crowded inside, not much of a seating area so kinda difficult to find seating. They have outside seating though and great for warm sunny days. They have cute merchandise like T shirts, sweatshirts, coffee and paintings and prints for sale.

Amazing food AND service! We loved our waiter—he was hilarious and had great suggestions. Fun outdoor area. I dove into my bacon chicken burger so fast, I forgot to take a photo of all the food. 10/10. We also got the wings and fries and blue cheese burger. Yum yum!

We had the chicken sandwich and a small starter salad to share. I didn’t take any pictures of food Cause I was so hungry. My wife loved her cider.

Good food and atmosphere. Painfully slow service. Our server was quick to say hi and check in with us but then disappeared for half an hour. If we had an attentive server we could have cut our dining time in half. We'd come back, though - we got the bacon potatoe pizza and the Space Cadet and Krispy Cream beer - everything was enjoyable.

The cowboy pizza was very tasty and the Sasquatch beer was frosty! Our server was nice just didn't stop by the table often to reorder drinks. Worth a stop after playing on the river. Patio is dog friendly which is always an amazing plus on my end!

Beer was yummy! But….the food made us sick, we checked in and they canceled us on the waitlist, we had to find our waitress after waiting for 20minutes for the tab plus bad service all night and the waitress was much more interested in the tables with younger patrons, told us it was best we got our ticking time bomb out…aka our daughter. To top it off we went for one of their Thursday night football specials and were charged full price for the beers that were supposedly included with the tacos and mini nachos.

Bend Brewing Company is a craft brewery with a pub offering pints of beer and a full menu of American cuisine. It's an excellent choice for handcrafted ales and pub food, making it a great alternative to other breweries in the area. Despite not having direct river views, you can still catch glimpses of the Deschutes River from the elevated dining area or the sunny back deck.
Beer was good, food was better. No table wait staff, order beer and food at the bar which is fine. The fish and chips were excellent. The wagyu burger with bacon jam and Cajun tots out of this world!

It's no surprise that Bend has plenty of brewery options! Bend Brewery should be on your list of places to visit! They are celebrating 30 years of Best Brews and Views - hard to argue with that! They've got an incredible outdoor seating area right along the river, which is hard to beat. There was a bit of a wait, but we were able to grab a drink from their patio bar and hang outside while we waited. I do feel their menu has gotten smaller, more limited, and more expensive over the years. I had the smash burger. It was tasty but hardly had any meat... more bun than anything. For the price, I was expecting a bit more. The fries were good, though! The cauliflower hummus and the drinks were great! It's definitely a good spot to check out while in Bend.

Lovely seating along the river. Crispy, tasty small portion of fish for the fish tacos, and as you can see, a ridiculously skimpy amount of cabbage. Salsa tastes reminiscent of horrible marinara from a chain pizza place. Sad.

Tumalo State Park, nestled along the Deschutes River in central Oregon, offers a serene escape from city life while still being conveniently close to Bend. The park features hiking trails, a picnic area, and a popular swimming spot on the river. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy activities like fishing, mountain biking, and golfing at nearby courses. With its proximity to Mt. Bachelor and the Cascade Mountains, visitors have easy access to alpine lakes and scenic trails for exploration.
I visited Tumalo State Park for a day trip and really enjoyed the time there. The hike along the Deschutes River was peaceful and scenic, plenty of spots to pause and take in the views. The trail was well-maintained and easy to follow, making it perfect for a short, relaxing outdoor escape. It's a great spot if you're looking for a quick nature fix close to Bend.

Tumalo State Park is undeniably beautiful, boasting stunning river views, rolling hills, and serene picnic spots that make it a nature lover’s paradise. However, the park’s popularity comes with a downside—it’s almost always overly crowded. Visitors often find that the charm of its natural beauty is tempered by the constant influx of people, especially on weekends and during peak seasons. If you’re planning a visit, consider going early in the morning or on a weekday to enjoy a more peaceful experience. Overall, while Tumalo State Park offers breathtaking scenery, the persistent crowds may require a bit of extra planning to fully appreciate its tranquil allure.

I stopped by Tumalo on my way to Bend to hike on the Deschutes River and was not disappointed. The trail takes you along the river through a forest of Alder, Juniper, and Ponderosa Pine with open spaces. You will find a short paved section that becomes a rocky dirt trail for 1.4 miles to the Riley Ranch The trail has a viewpoint above the rapids on a long metal boardwalk with great views of the river. Riley Ranch has a number of loop trails if you want a longer hike. Located O.B. Riley Road, just off Hwy 97 about four miles north of Bend. The park has a day use fee of five dollars. A great place to camp, fish, kayak, have a picnic, and hike along the river.

I’ve camped at this state park three times, and each time has been exceptionally fantastic. The first two times I camped in a travel trailer, with the last time being in a yurt. Whichever way you decide to camp, you likely will not be disappointed. It’s easy to tell at this campground that cleanliness is a top priority. The grounds are very clean and cleared of debris, as are the yurts. The washrooms and showers, the two parts of a campground that people normally dread going to, were next to spotless. Very impressed with this aspect of staying at this state park. Aside from the cleanliness, the geographical location of the park is also a major plus. The park is within 10-15 mins of most of downtown Bend. Other places to visit—such as Smith Rock State Park, the High Desert Museum, parts of Newberry National Volcanic Monument, Riley Ranch Nature Reserve, Tumalo Falls, and Shelvin Park are all within 30-45 mins of the campground. The geography of the park itself is very unique, with the Deschutes River flowing right through it underneath cliffs of ancient volcanic rock. The scenes are picturesque and I can say after my third visit to the park, they never get old. The day-use area, located right across road from the campground, has some fun activities to do. The Deschutes River provides swimming opportunities and people often bring their inner-tubes to float down the river to another spot in the day-use area. This part of the park does get extremely busy in the summer, however, so I recommend coming early in the day. The only downside comes from my most recent stay at the park—and it’s one that is out of anybody’s control—the noise from the highway. The campground is right next to a fairly busy road, and so loud cars at night can be heard every once in a while. In particular, during my most recent stay, some moron was doing donuts down on the road at 10:30pm, well after most people are trying to sleep. Unfortunately, the hosts said that this has become a near weekly occurrence. The noise bothers me, however not nearly as much as the safety of others being compromised. Overall, aside from this one unfortunate aspect, the camping experience here is sublime. I’ve made lots of great memories in the area and I hope to make many more down the road!

Movie rental store
Video store
The Last Blockbuster in Bend, Oregon is the final standing location of the once iconic video rental chain. After filing for bankruptcy in 2010, most stores were closed or auctioned off by 2011. For many who grew up in the 80s and 90s, Blockbuster was a beloved part of their childhood, making a visit to this last remaining store a nostalgic experience.
I recently visited the Blockbuster in Bend, OR, and it truly exceeded my expectations. It not only brought back fond childhood memories but also allowed me to get a Blockbuster card, reminiscent of the good old days. They offer DVDs for rent and even sell VHS tapes. The store is rich in history, and you could spend a significant amount of time browsing without catching all the historical treasures it holds. Overall, I would rate it a perfect 10/10 and will definitely return!
Katy W — Google review
It's the last one in the world. It's still great bringing nostalgia into the high tech world. It's a great family friendly spot to visit and see "what movies used to be like." Still functional and has a nice selection of items to rent. Lots of promo merch to go through to show you visited. And a great selection of snacks/candy to go with your rental. Service was also classic with a teenager working the registers. Parking was ample. If you're in Bend you have to go here. P.S. I cannot confirm if there were any Russell Crow undergarments at this location.

Checked out the last Blockbuster on the entire planet! Such a blast from the past! Not only did it show the VCR tapes not all being rewound and having the slogan, "Be kind, rewind" on some of them, they also had plenty of merch and endless amounts of movies you can still rent today! Also cool displays and memorabilia up! If I lived in the area, I would be supporting this place like crazy. We happily bought a shirt, some stickers, magnet, and a souvenir membership card. They're having a block party to celebrate turning 40 on October 18th from 11 A.M. to 4 P.M. if you can make it!

In the area for work, came all the way from Texas. What a blast from the past! All kinds of collectibles and souvenirs. Lots of different "Blockbuster" memorabilia... shirts to hats to magnets and more! It is a rental store as well... VHS are rental only, not for sale.

Such a blast from the past. It's crazy how many memories come flowing back! So much nostalgia. Movies, merch, and memorabilia all around the store. And the staff was so fun and kind!

Literally felt like walking back into my childhood. This was SO cool! Loved seeing all the memorabilia and actual movies you could rent. Lots of photo ops and merch!!

This place is a nostalgia overload! Not only are there traditional DVDs/VHSs here, but there are even classic memorabilia on display. Everything from the classic smell and atmosphere to the "wow" factor of seeing stuff you remember as a kid. This isn't just a place you "Visit". This is a place you experience! Would recommend this place to anyone!

History Museums
The Deschutes Historical Museum, located in a 1914 school building, provides an intriguing journey through the history of Bend. It showcases the transformation of the town from a quiet lumber community to a popular tourist destination. Visitors can explore exhibits on regional history, artifacts, and events, including a recreation of a 1914 classroom and a display on tourism from 1930 to 1960.
This museum was a pleasant surprise. Very fun and informative. I really love the part about the mountain biking and the bicycle scene there. Very interesting with some gorgeous and unique displays.

Small and accessible, full of interesting local history. It easily brought additional depth of understanding to me of the Bend area and helped paint a picture of the growth and change through the years. The mountain biking exhibit was a fun addition that brought back a ton of my own memories of the earlier versions of the sport.
Lori M — Google review
Worth the stop to check it out. $10 entry, 2 floors with each room having different history and the first car ever to drive in Bend, Or. Old newspapers in books could keep you engaged for hours, or walk through at your leisure for an hour and move on.

This is a gem of a museum. The building is a former schoolhouse and there were 5-6 exhibits inside. As a newcomer to the area, it gave me insight into the start of Bend. I was surprised to see that Klondike Kate lived here as she is a staple of the winter festivities in Minnesota, where I’m from. The highway 97 development and the first car in Bend also were very informative.

A quaint museum that packs a lot of Bend history into one building. As a mountain biker, I appreciated the robust mountain biking history on display on the first floor. Definitely worth a visit!

For a taste of history along with your beer, the family-friendly McMenamins Old St. Francis School is an atmospheric complex with various amenities including a brewery, restaurant, bars, and even a Turkish-style soaking pool.
We did the starlight snowshoe tour and it was amazing. Our guide, Benton, was a wealth of information. He gave history of the town and was an entertaining encyclopedia on the flora and fauna! I think I learned more on tour than I did in school! The trip was not overly challenging and got topped off with hot chocolate, trekked in by Benton! Being able to hike through several feet of snow to see amazing stars was an incredible experience! Highly recommend for any nature lovers!

Moonlight & Starlight Canoe Tour - highly recommended! We went out on Paulina Lake w/ Jared and had the loveliest time… he told us some of the history of the area, pointed out several stars and constellations, and hooked us up w/ beer, hot cocoa, and cookies next to a warm fire halfway through the excursion. Paddling along in the dark under the crescent moon listening to an owl hoot was a magical experience for both my 17yo teen and I. This is the way to go!

Dylan was a great guide. Very knowledgeable about the area and how the lake was formed. Will use them for other tours when I'm back in the area.

We did a moonlight canoe tour, and Brian was a fantastic guide! Very knowledgeable and friendly. He had the best stories about the stars and truly made the experience great! I had never been in a conoe and he did a great job teaching me and my friend how to navigate. I would absolutely go again, and highly recommend Wanderlust!

Wonderful wanderlust canoes, view and brews tour with Brian. Excellent educational tour; so lucky to have a postgraduate scientist lead this who could answer all our questions (however left field), provide safety and canoe instruction & local knowledge. Highly recommended ♥️
Wendy G — Google review
I booked the moonlight starlight canoe tour with some friends and we had an excellent experience! Wanderlust took into account wildfire smoke and our guide, Dylan, took into account the groups’ interests when organizing the excursion for the evening. We learned a lot about Paulina lake, the stars, and the geological formations in the area and had a great time on the water!
Ashley C — Google review
Perfect. No joke, this was perfect. My fiance and I live in Sisters here in Central Oregon, and needed a bit of a break from the madness of summer busy work and wildfires, so decided to do a bit of a stay-cation/date-day to decompress a bit. We have never been kayaking before (I know I know...), so figured we should probably do it at least once as that's one of the 'things to do' here. We were a bit nervous as there were some experienced kayakers in our group, but I don't know if we lucked out by getting Dylan as our guide, or if all their guides are gems, but he made us feel incredibly comfortable and the whole experience super approachable. He was very friendly and impressively knowledgeable about everything from the location to its geology and the science that created these natural wonders, and super super patient in helping us rookies navigate how to stop going around in a circle. Being as how the smoke was a bit thick that day from various wildfires around the Cascades, he took us to Paulina Lake, and it was perfect. The smoke wasn't bad there at all, the lake was incredibly beautiful, and the history of the volcano we were paddling on, as told very eloquently by Dylan, was fascinating. We had no idea we lived so close to this so it was also great to discover a whole new area of our backyard we had never explored. Loved every second of it and will definitely be back to do it again. Thanks Dylan and everyone at Wanderlust!

McKay Cottage Restaurant is a charming eatery located in a converted 1916 Craftsman-style bungalow, offering a cozy and inviting atmosphere for diners. The restaurant serves up classic comfort dishes with a unique twist, including their famous McKay Cottage potatoes and delectable croissant-style French toast. In addition to the mouthwatering breakfast fare, the on-site bakery produces an array of baked goods and desserts.
McKay Cottage is better than the reviews say! The food and wait staff were both absolutely wonderful. My wife and I started off with a Pecan Sticky Bun, Marionberry Bread Pudding, and some Lemonade while we waited for a table. After a brief and relaxing wait, we were seated in a quaint outdoor gazebo/tent which offered a nice reprieve from the lovely sunshine. We then ordered the Biscuits and Gravy—which had the most flavorful sausage gravy I've ever tasted smothered on top of the best biscuits you'll ever taste, along with some perfectly crispy potatoes and homemade ketchup–as well as the Carnitas Hash—which had the perfect balance of pepper, tang, and savory of any hash I've had in years! Josie was our waitress, and she was perfectly attentive to our needs and was extraordinarily kind. We will be back again, next time to try out the delicious cocktails!

Yup, the food is good. Flavor profile abounds. Seating is tight, and the service is splendid. We arrived for breakfast and was told it would be 25 to 30 minute wait. They offered a comfortable outside waiting area with free coffee. The wait was only about 20 minutes. Perfect execution of under promes and over deliver. Hard to mess up breakfast, and they did. not. Bacon was crispy. Eggs cooked as ordered. Potatoes were over the top good, crispy without being greasy. Scone was OK, not all that, but serviceable. Parking is a bit of a pain, but it is worth it.

We enjoyed our breakfast here on a recent weekend visit to Bend. The food was very fresh and the portion sizes were very much larger than I thought they’d be. I definitely too much food. This is a nice spot but be prepared to spend quite a bit. We sat out side and the weather was perfect and the seating area was very accommodating.

My family and friends ate Sunday brunch here while on a weekend trip to Bend. The staff were super friendly and the waiting environment outside was excellent. We loved the free coffee and fireside seating. Once inside, we sat outside and really enjoyed the cozy blanks on the chairs. This blanket feature was the most enjoyable and unexpected aspect of our meal. The food was plentiful, but arrived slightly cool and seemed to need extra salt to enhance the flavor. Not sure if we just got a bland batch of dishes, but we were surprised that we needed to request extra salt. Overall, this dining experience was delightful and highly recommended despite the seasoning deficiency.

Had the pleasure of dining with a lovely lady on a nice fall day in November. We had Sunday Brunch in early afternoon with a few couples and groups waiting ahead of us. However, a 20-minute wait in a comfortable seat with something to drink in a nice setting seemed fine, no problem. The food was amazingly delicious! It was all I could eat, and my date took some home. The atmosphere was sunny and bright, nicely decorated, and appropriate for semi-formal dining. The service was totally, absolutely awesome! They really took care of us! Recommended! Will definitely return!

My wife and I stopped here on a Saturday morning for breakfast. We were early enough that parking was easy and didn’t have to wait for a table outside. We ordered a breakfast burrito and French toast. The burrito was huge! Both meals were delicious. Our server was so kind! They gave us to go coffee cups!

⭐️ Brunch Bliss🌟 I had the lemon ricotta pancake topped with fresh berries, with a side of crispy bacon, eggs, and a caramel latte. I thought it was going to be a sugar overload, but it had just the right balance of lemon and sweetness. The pancake was light and fluffy, and it paired perfectly with the savory bacon and eggs. The caramel latte added the perfect cozy touch to finish it off. Everything was delicious and beautifully balanced, such a lovely way to start the morning ☀️

I tried the lemon pancakes along with a chai latte lightly flavored with vanilla, and both were absolutely wonderful. The pancakes were perfectly fluffy with a bright, refreshing taste, and the latte had a comforting, smooth flavor. Everything made for a delightful breakfast experience.

Eclectic restaurant
Spork is a lively restaurant that started as a mobile kitchen in 2009 and later expanded to a permanent location in 2013. This casual venue offers lunch and dinner daily, featuring a diverse menu influenced by global flavors from Latin America and Asia. The culinary team uses high-quality local ingredients to craft dishes such as pork carnitas tacos, fried catfish, spicy fried chicken with sambal chili sauce, and more.
Love this place!! Spicy fried chicken has always been my favorite! This place sure has grown in past 15 years! Great establishment and contribution to the Central Oregon food scene. Some of the best Asian Fusion food I've had at a restuarant. This is a popular local spot, but the food doesn't disappoint, there's a reason for it. I love the outdoor, dog friendly seating available.
Lora L — Google review
Spork is what happens when a Bend hiker, a Seattle garden gnome, and a zen master open a restaurant together—and somehow it works. The vibe is part eco-conscious self-serve (hydrate yourself, people, the water station awaits) and part culinary choose-your-own-adventure. It feels hands-on without feeling abandoned—like your cool friend who lets you borrow their kayak but still reminds you to wear sunscreen. Ordering could have been a nightmare given the menu reads like a love letter to every corner of Asia plus a few detours, but the gentleman at the counter deserves a Nobel Prize in Menu Explanation. He not only decoded the dishes for us, but sold us on why people rave about them—like a hype man for noodles. Ten out of ten, would let him guide my life choices. Food-wise: my husband ordered the happy hour chicken sandwich and is now in a committed relationship with it. He still brings it up in conversation as if it’s a long-lost flame. We got the fried cheese, because let’s be real—fried cheese is never a mistake, it’s a life philosophy. I had a noodle bowl that was absolutely incredible. Drinks? Let’s just say we “accidentally” upgraded happy hour to full-on cocktail hour. Zero regrets. In conclusion: Spork Bend is quirky, delicious, and unforgettable. We came for happy hour, we stayed for the food (and drinks). We’ll be back faster than you can say fried cheese forever.
Lou L — Google review
Great food and cozy vibe! We got carnitas and chicken tinga in tacos. Both the tacos were amazing. Dan Dan noodles were delicious too. The Szechuan pepper kick flavour kicks in with first bite! Spicy fried chicken is a must try. The chicken was crispy and the sauce was tasty. The Tampico sunrise drink was great.(not in pictures ). Overall a very good spot for fusion food in bend 😍 there was a long line when we went in at 8 pm but it’s worth the wait 😅
Sushmita K — Google review
This spot is eclectic, savory, and delicious. The menu is primarily Asian influenced, but they also have tacos and other specials. My companion had the beef and broccoli, which he thoroughly enjoyed (though it had a surprising amount of lemongrass). I had the shrimp and pork belly curry, which was bursting with flavor and a good variety of ingredients. The consistency was very liquidity which is not my preference, but it was so rich in flavor that I still give it a strong five stars. I also really enjoyed the punch cocktail with a rum of blends, tea, and apricot liqueur. The service was order at the counter and partial self-service, but it was friendly. The ambience is casual zen with plants and a slight bohemian feel. Great place to stop on your next trip to Bend!
M B — Google review
The best place we ate in Bend! While having a more casual feel the food was anything but. Despite a busy evening and a long line, the staff take tote drink orders and deliver them to you while waiting for counter service! A lovely touch. The food itself was delicious, nom ish, and full of flavor. From the crispy cheese bites, seasonal melon salad, and incredible Szechuan Dan Dan noodles, every bite was wonderful and we simply couldn’t stop ourselves.
Alex B — Google review
We celebrated our anniversary here. Very busy, lively atmosphere. Staff were friendly, accommodating, and efficient. Loved how they asked about any allergies. The food was tasty and perfect portions. Highly recommend the crispy Brussel sprouts and crispy chicken. Can’t wait til we can return to Bend and try other menu items.
Suzi B — Google review
Tasty and interesting dishes, but it's a bit loud and there's often a long line to order (you can't sit until you've ordered). The pork taco was the best, as the chicken taco was a bit bland and the shrimp taco had too much going on with it). The dandan noodles were somewhat like what I've had in China. The member of our party who ordered the banh mi asked for the spicy parts on the side, and they were able to do that. The kids liked the kids versions of the chicken rice bowl and chicken and pork. Most of the dishes are a bit small, so most adults need to get more than one thing. The pandan flan was excellent, and the coconut tres leches cake good too. We had to stand a while before ordering then being seated, but we were there early enough that the wait wasn't inordinate. The restaurant is rather noisy inside. Some people like that atmosphere, but I think it was too much.

Jackson’s Corner on Delaware Ave was a great dinner spot! This was recommended to me from a coworker and I’m so glad she told me! Originally, I wanted pizza but decided on the burger. My husband got the 50/50 fettuccine. My husband said this was the best pasta he’s had in a while. He loved the taste and homemade noodles. My burger was cooked perfectly and the burger sauce was really good! We sat outside, there’s plenty of seating. There’s also a great variety of drinks and dessert. If you’re going with a group who has different tastes/cravings for dinner…this is the spot! Lots to choose from and the food was wonderful. The staff were very friendly, too! We went on a Wednesday, so it was a little more quieter. Now, we need to try the brunch!

Consistently lovely and delicious after all these years—always such a treat to visit Jackson’s Corner! We had the special—a Cobb salad—and a regular salad off the menu—the Jackson’s Blue. Both were fresh, flavorful and delicious. A couple of coffees accompanied by a salted chocolate chip cookie and a wonderful conversation left is satiated and heart/happy. Thanks, Jackson’s Corner, for the quality and consistency you always provide for the community! PS. The artwork and atmosphere are wonderful as always too. 🩷🩵💚

Honestly came for brunch but could've stayed for anything else my heart desired! They have coffee drinks, wine, craft beer, beer on draft, gelato, what appears to be a clay oven for pizzas. They have It all. Want to sit inside, check, outside check, want free bed samples and in-house made hot sauce and siracha, check. I got the brown sugar shaken espresso and the breakfast sandwich with sausage and it was amazing. My brother got the rancher's bloody Mary which he said was out of this world as well. Well done Jackson's corner

We came here for an early breakfast. We got reservations, but I don’t think they were necessary at 8 AM on a Friday morning. Definitely later in the day it got busier. We tried the breakfast burrito and I thought it was excellent. We also tried the breakfast sandwich which I thought was average. I would probably not get the breakfast sandwich again, but would definitely get the breakfast burrito again. We also tried the cinnamon roll, which I would skip next time. Parking is limited with only street parking available.
Jeff P — Google review
Mixed experience, great service, fast friendly helpful, but the food was average. High quality ingredients, local, well prepared, but some of the pairings were weird. For example, the spinach ruined the breakfast burrito, it almost entirely infused it with a weird green spirulina flavor. The breakfast sandwich was fine, the lemon aioli was delicious, but somewhere between the arugula, brioche bun, and lemon aioli did not work. And both the espresso drinks were horrible, like burnt office coffee from yesterday. The bacon was great, potatoes were fine

Hayden Homes Amphitheater is an independent outdoor concert venue located in the historic Old Mill District on the west banks of the Deschutes River. With a capacity for up to 8,000 patrons, it has hosted renowned acts like Coldplay and Dave Matthews Band. The amphitheater offers a picturesque setting along the river and features restored camp cars from Bend's lumber town era as green rooms for performers. Visitors praise its great sound system, beautiful surroundings, and accommodating staff.
What a fantastic venue. We had our first concert there the night before last, and we were really impressed with the quality of the food vendors, as well as the attention to refillable water bottles and reduced waste with people manning the trash cans at the concert to sort the trash to limit material going to landfills. Proximity to bend is excellent. We walked to the venue from our hotel, the residence Inn. Highly recommended. I’m honestly not sure where you would park if you wanted to come here. There were a few shopping center parking lot nearby, but there is no large parking area otherwise that we saw. I think the other option which many people did would be to hang out in the river on paddle boards or inner tubes with an anchor and listen to the show. Have the show we went to there was no reserve seating, everything was general admission. There was a mixture of Astroturf and real grass. There were restrictions on the towel size you could bring, but they did not seem to be strictly enforced. The bag sizes and searching was the most thorough I’ve ever experienced with someone actually asking to look inside my hat. We would definitely come back here for another show. It really is a great venue.

Nice setting to see a show. The food trucks are great with a good variety. Being from out of town, we assumed the time on the tickets was entry time, considering it was so early. Our loss. We missed the first 15 minutes of the opening act we flew to see. I was also kind of disappointed to see there was no designated "standing only" area near the stage. It was definitely giving a "stay off my lawn" vibe. Either way, I would definitely return to see a show here again.

Went to see Rufus du Sol there. It's was an amazing show. The concessions were awesome, free water, good NA selections, plenty of Alcoholic choices. Not a bad seat in the house. Pretty good sound, but have to say The Gorge has better sound. Would visit again. Very centrally located.

Probably one of my favorite venues on earth. Top notch sound (with the right team behind it). Great stage production for it's size. Small venue. At times it feels like a private show with the stage production of a huge venue. This venue is an absolute gem.

I've loved and will continue to love and appreciate this outdoor place perfect for concerts and events. The set up is perfect, food and drinks are always good, and the location is scenic. I've been here for 6 different concerts, and the acoustics and pricing has not disappointed once. We just saw Chicago at the end of this summer, and it was awesome! Did I mention it's by the river as well? Talk about an awesome place to see concerts during the summertime! The vendors they use at the events are all local businesses too, so yay for that. Bend is such a great place to be at, or just visit for the weekend anyways, but Hayden Homes Ampitheater makes it even better, and worth the 2hr drive from Lebanon for me.

Great venue to catch a show. Seen many great shows here over the years. Picturesque setting with all the mountains surrounding Bend. Parking can be tricky if you don't want to walk too far to the show with all the shoppers and floaters.

Fantastic concert venue! We drove over from Portland to see Bad Religion and Dropkick Murphys. My wife wasn’t aware of the ADA section when she bought tickets, so I called the venue on the afternoon of the show to ask about accessibility. The person that answered was extremely helpful. When we got to the venue, we were directed to ADA parking that was conveniently close to the VIP/ADA entrance. The staff was the most helpful and accommodating that I’ve ever experienced. The food and drink offerings are priced similar to other entertainment venues, and the quality is top notch. You’re allowed to bring in empty water bottles and they have free water refill stations around the venue. Throughout the show, I continued to be impressed by the staff and guest services. Before the night was over I found myself looking at the upcoming events just so I could have a reason to come back! Thank you to everyone that works there!

Great experience. I booked online a few days in advance. We went on a Friday in August at 11am, and it wasn't crowded, although when we got back at 12:45, there were long lines. Go early. The pickup and drop off process was very easy. Staff was friendly, helpful, easygoing. They did a good job explaining the route and what to look for along the river. There were staff members stationed at the end of the route to help collect the tubes. Fun time!!

So easy to have a fun experience here! Great staff, super friendly and efficient and communicative. They handle all the equipment answer any questions you have give you advice to ensure you have the best experience. I did a one hour kayak and just had a fabulous time.
Marie — Google review
Great first time float. Wish it were longer. Definitely not a full two hours but maybe they were including travel time on the bus. Second time will be much better after getting an idea of the current and when you should work your way to the right side or left side of the river.
Lisa L — Google review
We had a blast! Easy instructions and it was seamless. We hopped on the tour bus, were dropped at the starting point after some quick safety instructions and on the river we went. A nice calm float with some fun little rapids in the middle. When we got to the take out spot the bus was there and the driver was carrying our tubes up for us. On the way back to the parking area he showed us some good places to eat. Thank you! 100% will do again.

Absolutely worth the value of not having to drive or lug everything yourself! Staff were friendly. Great experience!

Great value! The tubs were nice and thick with a mesh bottom. We went at 10 am and it was not crowded and not cold like we thought it would be. It is a lovely float and the directions were easy to fallow. There are bathrooms at the registration which was nice. The staff was efficient and kind.

We had a fantastic time tubing the Deschutes with Tumalo Creek Kayak and Canoe! Four of us went together and enjoyed a mostly leisurely two-hour float down the river. The fish ladder section was especially fun and gave us a bigger splash than we expected! The check-in process was quick and well organized, and the shuttle bus left right on time, making everything smooth and stress-free. Every staff member we interacted with was helpful, friendly, and clearly focused on making sure we had a great experience. The only thing that could have made it better would have been slightly warmer weather, but that is Oregon, not Tumalo Creek! We will definitely book with them again.

My husband/I and our two friends went on Friday and had such a great time! Such a well-run company and staff was willing to help anyone who needed assistance. I was one of those customers who didn’t get to the right at the end of the trip and had to be “rescued.” 🙄. Staff was in it and very nice and polite about it. We will definitely be doing this activity again. Thank you for a fun experience!!

Very peaceful park on the river. Great place for the family. Plenty for the kids to do, as well as for the adults to see and take it. Beautiful place. Im getting to appreciate the beauty of Oregon as Ive only been here a few times.

First time in town and we absolutely loved it! 10/10! The people we talked too. The beautiful sunset. The wildlife and happiness of genuine human beings. I mean we have been to Ontario.... Which gives Oregon a horrible name! GIVE IT TO IDAHO ALREADY! This is the true beauty of Oregon! Thank you so much for preserving this!

Farewell Bend Park is a wonderful and beautiful park located in Bend Oregon along the banks of the Deschutes River. The park is constructed and designed perfectly with green spaces, playground equipment for children, paved walking paths and dirt paths, walking and biking bridges across the Deschutes River, and wetlands retained attracting local birds and wildlife. There are covered areas along the river, with sitting areas, benches along the way. This was our first visit, there was ample parking, people enjoying the park with children looking for birds and fish in the river, we pointed out baby ducks for them to see. There were people walking dogs, and playing fetch with a tennis ball. We were there about an hour and could have easily stayed the day. I've attached some pictures. If you find my review helpful please give me a thumbs-up 👍. Thank you!

Farewell Bend park is at the beginning of a trail along a awesome part of the Deschutes River trail. The park side of the river allows bikes the other side restricts the trail to walking/running. There is a bridge across the trail quite a way done that allows you to switch sides. Mountain bikes recommended.

This review is for the river float. This is our second time floating down the river as a group. It’s a lot of fun and relaxing. There is a little excitement when you reach the rapids. My tip is to lift your backside up as high as you can to minimize bumping on the rocks below going down the rapids.

Beautiful park to walk around, enjoy the views of the mountains, the river, the plants/trees and the animals. it is close to the old mill district and there are a couple of bridges from were you can have great pictures of the river and town. there are some rentals to kayak or paddel, saw a lot of people having fun with their families and dogs! Great place in Bend that i recommend visiting.

A beautiful 💎 in Bend, Oregon. I wasn't expecting such great service and food from a smaller town coming from Portland. I would Highly recommend This beautiful establishment. To ensure you get the full experience "in the back" reservations are required for busy nights probably mid-day the day before (Fri-Sun/Holidays). They offer free butter rolls with sweet honey butter. More important than the food, was our service from a server named DJ. A 10-year veteran to the restaurant who took our order without a notepad or a flinch. He even got my olives stuffed with Blue cheese for my Dirty Martini. He is what made our evening meal so special⭐️. I would 💯 recommend this establishment from the host, down to the chef and especially their seasoned staff. They also do Prime-Rib specials on Fri/Sat nights which is well marbled, but also very lean and not too fatty(sorry for no 🤳's) . I hope you get to enjoy the experience I had!

I travel for work and often try to find the local go to places. Pine Tavern came highly recommended so I figured I would check it out. I went in during happy hour and was impressed immediately. The staff was friendly from the moment I walked in and made some incredible recommendations. The happy hour food was top notch and the creme brulee was one of the best I have had. I have to compliment the service as well- Madison was personable and professional and did not stop running around the entire time I was there. Her recommendations were on point and I ate entirely too much food. The whole vibe was impressive. Go here- you will NOT be disappointed- I'm looking forward to the next work trip here!

Came in around 2pm for the Happy Hour Menu. We were promptly seated and greeted by the waitress. This is a really nice setting for a tavern. Felt like I was in Boston or something similar to that. The menu was simple yet full of great choices. We tried the Shrimp fajitas and the Fish Tacos. Both were excellent and I highly recommend! We had a second order of the shrimp fajitas right after because the sauce was so delicious. We tried the Huckleberry-Lemon cider which was tasty! For dessert, we finished off with Peach Crumbler. Our waitress was very attentive and prompt. So glad we stopped here on our way back to San Francisco.

Located in a historic building on Mirror Pond. The atmosphere is excellent. The service is average. Good selection of main courses. I tried the Blackened Rock Cod with Beau Blanc sauce. Fish was a little dry and the pepper coating was excessive. Other in my party enjoyed a pasta dish with shrimp. Bill for 4 was $150 with the tip (no booze).

We stopped by for happy hour. The drinks were refreshing and perfectly. As for snacks, their creamy hummus and veggies to munch on paired well. Light enough to keep it casual, but tasty enough to make you want seconds. Great atmosphere, friendly staff. Definitely a go-to spot for an easy drink and a bite without breaking the bank. Goody's Bend is a beloved sweet spot in Central Oregon, known for its handmade chocolates and nostalgic ice cream. Established in 1984, it has become a community staple with multiple locations producing an impressive 20 tons of chocolate annually. Visitors can indulge in creamy Oreo ice cream or share a classic banana split while taking in the charming surroundings of Drake Park.
A trip to simpler times with delicious chocolates and treats. Recently remodeled and freshened up. Excellent location in the core of downtown. Service is always upbeat. Treats are fun and kids love going here. Mild nostalgia meets current times. Stop in for an ice cream or walking snack. Prices are mildly upscale. Downtown parking. The wait is worth it.

3/19/25 UPDATE: The owner reached out to me and made the order correct. The order was not fully fulfilled. For that I am increasing my rating from 1-star to 4-star. The reason it's not a 5-star is the local pick-up option was not addressed rather than shipping it for local consumers. 3/5/25 UPDATE: I wanted to spend that online gift card so I did. Small warning for consumers. When purchasing an item, make sure it is the weight they say it is. I received 2 - 1 lb fudges and they turned out to be underweight. When I was looking at the packaging label it said 1/2 lb fudge and I knew I paid for 1 lb. So I took it out of the box and weighed them both. Short of 1 lb. The pics tell the rest of the story. No disclaimer that they might be underweight. I weighed them on a calibrated scale with and without the boxes. Goody's should weigh their product to make sure that consumers are buying what they purchased. Because $22 for a 1 lb brick of fudge is quite steep and being shortchanged for a product that I purchased would be delivered with the correct weight in good faith, that didn't happen. Changing rating from 3 stars to 1 star. Original Review: I went here for a Valentine's gift. I wanted to pay with a gift card that I got. I found what I want and then I was told I wasn't able to pay with an online gift card. I also was under the assumption that you can do a local pickup if it was purchased online. There was no pickup option so that locals can purchase online. It boggles my mind that if you're local, you would be able to pick up an order in-store. This will probably be my first and last time shopping here. They released that they were going national a few months ago, well this isn't a good look for our local community if the business can't offer a pick up option when checking out. I didn't give a one star since I do understand that it hurts local businesses. But the arrangement was nice.

Goody is a must-visit for any popcorn lover! We ordered several different styles and LOVE THEM! They have so many amazing flavors, from classic caramel, cheddar & even peanut butter. My husband particularly loved their Carmel flavor & I loved the peanut butter, it was perfectly sweet and crunchy. We had a small hiccup with one of the items, but the sales staff sent a replacement right away. We highly recommend checking them out! They also offer decorative tins and ship orders, making them a great option for gifts.
Dee L — Google review
My kids grew up at Goodies back in the day. The warmth and old fashioned feel is not there anymore. They used to pick out a stuffed animal at every visit and every stuffed animal was darling which made decision time very hard for them! Today the stuffed animals are all the same look with the big plastic eyes. Popcorn is now pre bagged and sitting on a shelf in a plastic bag. We all remember smelling the popcorn from outside and happily waiting for fresh popcorn to be popped. It just feels cold and sterile and the charm is no longer. Our grown kids visit Bend with our grandchildren and wish they could experience what they knew and loved as kids but sadly it’s nothing like the good old days. Goodies is iconic and could be the highlight of downtown and the highlight of childhood memories.

Goody's is a fun little spot to stop for ice cream, especially on a warm day. They have a lot of other sweet treats and plush toys. The young people working there seem to have fun and add to the pleasant atmosphere. The scoops are huge and the price per scoop reflects that. They have a good selection of flavors including some sorbet.

AVID Cider Co, located in Bend, Oregon, is a family-run and dog-friendly taproom that offers a diverse selection of locally sourced ciders in unique flavors. Founded by Samantha Roberts and Dan McCoy in 2013, the cidery was born out of their dissatisfaction with existing ciders and their desire to create natural cider using fruits from the Northwest. AVID Cider Co's focus on hard cider sets it apart from traditional breweries in the area.
Nice Cider House. Dog and kid friendly. If cider is not your jam (shame on you) they also have a good beer selection. Sat outside next to the fire but played some games inside too. Such a chill "local" vibe. Good job and thanks for the fun time!

We loved the ciders here. Apricot Peach cider and Peach Bellini Seltzer were our favorites. Did the Grand Slam flight of 12 samples.
Tamericann — Google review
It was awesome to try the flight of ciders - including their seasonal offerings. The blackberry is still my absolute favorite. All of their ciders have real fruit - nothing artificial. The sweetness naturally varies per flavor since they do not sweeten with sugar. 👍 Not much to eat, though they allow outside food to be brought in. Nice outdoor space, a pool table and a few arcade games inside. Plus, lots of options for purchasing their various ciders in multi-packs, plus they have mix-and-match quantity discounts.

This is a great spot to sample different tasty ciders and to play free pool too! Most importantly, the staff is amazing!!! One of the employees at Avid found my partner’s wallet which we lost there and mailed it back to us in Portland along with some stickers. The wallet was returned with everything still inside and including a nice note. The staff here truly went above and beyond and are top notch. We are so touched and grateful!

We stopped at Avid on our way to our hotel in Bend. The bartender was a delight - friendly and funny. We shared a flight of 6: blackberry, watermelon rhubarb, jungle juice (pineapple, passion, fruit, plum, apple, tangerine), blueberry pomegranate, royal apricot imperial, rocket pop (raspberry, cherry, lime - just like the popsicle). They were all excellent. The jungle juice was like a flavor explosion in our mouth holes. You could taste the five different fruits. My favorite was the rocket pop and we left with a 6-pack. There are pinball machines in the back room, a fire pit outside, and just a really fun vibe.

We spent three days at the Riverhouse Lodge, in Bend, Oregon in October, 2025. We would stay here again without hesitation. A very relaxing and enjoyable place to spend part of your vacation. There are three buildings at the lodge and all have nice, clean, large rooms. Two of the buildings are on either side of the Deschutes River. Some of the rooms at the lodge have fire pits on their patio. The rooms on the west side of the river are connected to the east side (with the restaurant, bar, game room, and guest check in) by a walking bridge. Walking across the bridge to breakfast allows you to see the beauty of the river as it runs through town. The restaurant has good menus for all meals but there are some wonderful restaurants in town if you’re looking for other options. If you do eat in the lodge restaurant, ask for servers Dave or Taryn (like Karen but spelled with a “T”). They are fun and will take good care of you. Other benefits to staying at the Riverhouse Lodge include a steam room, dry sauna, and two pools; one indoors and one outdoors. There is a family-type room for kids that plays movies to keep them occupied. If you’re visiting in October, keep your eyes open for deer migrating down from the high country. If you’re going to stay in Bend, we strongly suggest the Riverhouse Lodge.

Don’t stay here. You’ll be charge incorrectly and won’t be refunded. It’s like they don’t understand what they are doing. Lady at the front gave us the wrong receipt at checkout. Freaking us out thinking we would be charge over 1k. We paid through third party on their site called flex pay . So we were so confused as we looked closely at our receipt it had some others guy name on it, their total and their room number. After we got correct receipt, we were told pending charge would fall off since we had paid with third party. It ended up clearing my account and giving me an overdraft fee with my bank. We called and we were reassure of a refund and it’s been a week and nothing. All they did was email a receipt again. This has been a very frustrating situation. I figure booking a nicer place would be easy peasy and it has not. We were also charge for parking although I prepay this and thankfully this was refunded. But it’s like they seem so careless and like they don’t like really pay attention to what they are doing. Our room was pretty dusty. My husband and I kept sneezing. The sink was like back up. We ran out of body wash in our room on our first shower. It’s like they never bother to check the room to make sure it would be good for someone to stay with. It was just a whole mess. We weren’t happy and for what we paid not worth it. Who knows if they will refund us? At this point I rather dispute it with my bank. Don’t bother with this place unless you don’t mind the service or being charge incorrectly.
A G — Google review
A bit dated but it was a large room and bathroom so there are benefits. The Tesla charger was a very old one and really needed to be updated and a second one installed. There is a newer setup over in the corner by the restaurant that will charge faster but it was too far from the room and limited space for me (wheelchair user). I did very much enjoy getting up and having a full charge. BTW they charge for parking.

A verybniv we place to stay, nice rooms and the river running between the different room building is beautiful. The facility is showing its age a bit, but still very nice and clean. The indoor pool and hot was lovely to visit on a cool morning and the wet sauna was also a treat. Did not use the outdoor pool.

My family and I had rented several rooms at the establishment for my father's memorial in Bend. It was a beautiful well kept and peaceful hotel it felt like a resort. Making s'mores and gathering around together to swim hang out and eat at this property. My daughter was able to bring her dog which was invaluable because the dog is very elderly and has issues that are concerning but she was made very comfortable and enjoyed the stay as well. My room was literally facing the river it was gorgeous and the pool was very clean and well kept along with the hot tub it was definitely a family vibe I would recommend this place to anyone who is traveling to the Bend area

First room was a 1 bedroom California king right on the river with a fire pit and the other room was huge had 2 sets of bunk beds , 2 queens and had 2 bathrooms (1 with a soaker tub) and 2 closets . Also has a private patio with a fire pit . There is a restaurant on site called currents which had delicious food , wine selection, and ciders. We did not try any cocktails but they looked delicious and the bar staff is very accommodating and friendly. Currents is split into 3 parts , restaurant, lounge and bar . The bar connects to the back room which has a pool table for entertainment. Food that was selected during our stay was quite good . I had the beet and burrata salad, which was a 10, the steak bites and fondue was a 10 as well, also had a the steak and Chimichurri dish (the steak (9) was seasoned and cooked perfect , the sauce that the potatoes and side were in was quite spicy and was rated a 7, trout dish was quite good the trout was not fishy at all and seasoned well served with a almost scalloped mashed potato which made the dish rated an 8, also someone ordered a pasta dish that was quickly devoured and they rated it a 10. We did order a dessert to go which was an apple tarte with a vanilla ice cream and an apple cider syrup topping and it was quite good I would rate it an 8 . I would highly suggest this Lodge . Pricing is reasonable and the staff was excellent, rooms were clean and having amenities on site makes it an amazing mini vacation spot . This does have a pool and fitness center, but unfortunately I ran out of time to check out the facility’s :)

Super pretty!!! Pools were big and fun things to do near the indoor and outdoor pools. Rooms were very clean and good temperatures. I recommend lowest floor for the fire pit. A couple of scary bugs, but what can I say? It is nature! People seemed nice and no people being loud during night hours. Very nice place!!

McMenamins Pub at Old St. Francis School is a unique and quirky spot in Bend, offering American fare, house beers, and a patio. The location hosts free concerts featuring local acts like Maxwell Friedman and Jerry Garcia Birthday Band. Visitors can also enjoy the Saltwater Spa before grabbing a beer at the Fireside Bar. The pub is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, providing a comfortable setting with deep booths and original artwork.
Pretty spacious McMenamin's in a good location with a lot to offer. The menu is standard for this chain, and offerings can be rather expensive, but food is delicious and filling with sizable servings. They have super tasty signature Cajun Tots, and I'd also recommend the sliders. The place is clean with a good atmosphere. Service can be on the slower side but waiters are friendly and helpful. Overall a good place to get food and drinks, where you can hang out with friends.

Food was pretty good, but service and atmosphere was amazing. We let our server surprise us. He brought the kamikaze tuna appetizer which was our favorite. The steelhead was top notch. Elk burger was delicious. Cajun Tots were a bit over-spriced.

Interesting place, and people love collecting their complete visits of all of their locations. They make it fun to be there with a wide range of novel themes and locations. This location has a secret entrance to a Speak Easy, and I won't reveal the location. They have their own brewery and the flight of beers we had were not outstanding, but there is a good variety. The food was good, the Cajun spicing of fries and tots was really a nice addition. It's upwards of $20 to get a meal, but you're paying for the place and atmosphere.

The overall experience was exactly what you'd expect from a healthy mcmenamins! High energy and happy waiters, very attentive and very helpful in deciding what to eat. Everything came relatively quickly and the food was really good. The fries are delicious and so we're the Burgers. My wife enjoyed a trippy tiger as well which was a treat for her. 4 stars for the food is for the reason of quality control, after the pandemic they stopped making some things in house like the pretzel sticks, though they were delicious, mcmenamins is known for their great pretzels according to my wife so it's suffice to say that was a bit unfortunate and we hope their standards are raised back to pre-covid.

After a lively night at a concert, our group of six wandered into McMenamins in Bend without reservations, hungry, loud, and, if we’re being honest, a little over-enthusiastic from the evening’s “adult beverages.” We were fully prepared for a wait or for chaos, but instead, we were met with one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Our server, Raven, was nothing short of incredible. She welcomed us with an easy smile and an unshakable calm, even as we rattled off orders full of modifications and last-minute changes. She handled each request without missing a beat, making us feel like valued guests instead of a post-concert inconvenience. Her timing, attentiveness, and humor were exactly what our rowdy group needed. The food arrived faster than expected, and impressively, all at the same time. The two pizzas were hot, perfectly baked, and generously topped. The burgers were cooked to perfection, juicy and full of flavor, with fries that were crisp and golden. The pretzels with cheese were warm and soft, with a rich, savory dip that disappeared quickly from the table. The fish and chips were fresh, flaky, and piping hot, while the salad was crisp, colorful, and clearly freshly prepared. Every plate was spot-on in temperature and presentation, which is no small feat for such a varied order. By the end of the meal, every one of us was beyond satisfied, not just with the food, but with the atmosphere, the friendship, and of course the outstanding service. Raven’s professionalism and personality elevated the entire evening, turning what could have been a late-night scramble into a perfect ending to our night, and she even took time to take our picture.. If you’re in Bend, on a Bender like us post-concert, or just passing through, McMenamins is worth a stop. And if you’re lucky enough to have Raven as your server, you’re in for a treat.

Really cool spot housed in a converted 1930s Catholic school building. McMenamins has done a nice job preserving the historic character while creating a comfortable bar and restaurant experience. The atmosphere is definitely the highlight here - dining and drinking in former classrooms with original chalkboards and school features still intact. The McMenamins artwork throughout tells the story of the building and adds to the nostalgic feel without being overwhelming. Food at Father Luke's Room was solid Pacific Northwest fare with good variety. Nothing groundbreaking but well-prepared and reasonably priced. The beer selection features McMenamins' house brews plus other local options. The Principal's Office bar is a fun novelty - having a drink in what used to be the actual principal's office gives the place character you won't find elsewhere. Service was friendly and knowledgeable about both the menu and the building's history. It's worth a visit just for the unique setting. The food and drinks are good, but the converted school atmosphere is what makes this place memorable. Great spot if you're looking for something a bit different in Bend.

Upon arrival we were politely greeted by the host and we asked if we could have an 2 person table next to the bar, as the bar did not have 2 seats together. We were just looking to stop in for a quick minute to get a beer and an app. The host stated that we could have the booth and that would be fine for us to sit there. Unfortunately, as we were at the booth not even 1 minute, the server for that section, a young brunette gal, stated that if we were not eating that the table was for dining customers and not for bar customers. We had let her know that we just wanted a drink and the host had given us the “okay.” We asked if we could stay there and the server replied that it would be best if we moved. Again, the bar did not have two seats together, so all in all we just left. I guess their loss on our business. Seems to be a popular place and had an awesome old time atmosphere. Just hope it’s better service if we ever go back.

Stopped in for brunch while we were in Bend for the weekend. Zero wait time, even on a Saturday, and had great service. All the food was great, but the blueberry pancakes stole the show. Big, fresh blueberries and fluffy, homemade pancakes. That alone was worth the trip. Second prize goes to those seasoned potatoes.

Riverbend Park is a popular community gathering place located along the Deschutes River in Bend. It offers a sandy beach, grassy lawns, and scenic trails for visitors to enjoy. The park hosts regular events and is an ideal spot for picnics, with cabin-style structures providing shade and ample picnic spots.
I was walking a virtual 5k so I wasn't having a great time but the place was super pretty and the trail was mostly flat. I'd come back here again. And it is a great place to do a 5k since the trail I took is just a little over 5k. I think I'd enjoy it more if I wasn't feeling like my legs were gonna fall off.

I loved this place so much. Was able to visit on my first day in Bend and the sun was out, people were out. Honestly so beautiful. I walked the trail along the riverside and almost cried because it was so calming. Just nature sounds and people casually chatting on their walks. Others were doing a variety of different water activities in the river itself.

As tourist we wanted to do what the locals do and float on the river. BUT the water was freezing so we just walked around and took pix of the beautiful landscape. Very well maintained park and very dog friendly.

We had a fun afternoon floating down the deschutes river. It took around 2 hours. It’s a local thing to do in Bend. For $18 per person you can rent an individual float tube. Starting June 22, the shuttle service will start, as floating down river is a 1-way trip from the old mill district to Drake park. You cross under 5 bridges & go through 1 area of small rapids. There are also kayaks for rent, but those can go fast in the summer without an advance reservation. We went a week ago on a warm day- the water was still ice-cold from the snow melt but still comfortable.

Love this place! Park and Float for $4/Day! Rental tubes are available nearby or bring your own. Take out is 90ish minutes down River. $4 - Cash only Shuttle with trailer for tubes brings you back!

Pine has a great gear selection and quality. What sets them apart from other stores in Bend though the is their exceptional customer service experience. The friendly and very knowledgeable team, especially Paco, really know their stuff! Paco always goes out of his way to help me get the right products and gear for my individual needs and goals! These are just the nicest folks around. When we lived in Bend over a decade ago, the folks were friendly and service oriented. Today, this service orientation has not changed and folks here are even nicer if that's possible. Jason helped me out with a derailleur change to e-shifters today for my Santa Cruz. I just wanted it for the weekend when the weather was supposed to be nicer but he turned it around within 1.5 hours enabling me to try out the new shifters with some night riding today. Shifters are great. My wife and I will be centering our MTB and touring ski work at Pine Mountain Sports. Really appreciate the courtesy and going above and beyond. As an aside, some kids came in needing some e-bike service while my 2-year-old was causing some havoc. The folks at Pine Mountain Sports treated my kiddo and the other kids with the same courtesy, attentiveness, and service orientation as all guests. So glad to know that not only our family's outdoor adventure needs will be taken care of here for the years to come.

Pine Mountain Sports takes care of its customers from the moment you engage. I was treated with respect, honesty, and clarity. Right from the start Dan led me through the process of selecting the "right bike" for me. I took delivery this week; Bill went through the entire bike with a comprehensive checklist and answered all questions with patience. I went on my first ride (e-bike) with a happy heart. There might be other good bike shops in Bend, but honestly, Pine Mountain takes care of their customers for years to come

Sawyer has a nice grassy area with picnic benches. There is a few different trails you can take including the Fishermans trail that goes down to a few different water access points. There are large rocks and great photo areas. We used to eat lunch on the rocks by the river. This park is also dog friendly and we met quite a few furry friends on our visit.

It is also a popular spot for capturing sunset views and engagement photos.
Beautiful but steep climb several benches along the way and views all the way from near the bottom to the summit. It was difficult but worth it to take the trails instead of merely driving to the summit. However it is great having the option to drive up there especially for those with mobility issues

Pilot Butte is a park where you can see 360° views. We went up to check it out in the early evening and there were quite a few people up there waiting to watch the sunset. We saw other people hiking or running the trail. They have alot of informational plaque at the top and information as to what you can view from that direction. They have a road that goes around the mountain until you reach the top, there is also a trail you can hike along side the road. Beautiful views.

It was a hazy day as I climbed up the Pilot Butte Nature Trail to the summit. You will need to pick up a brochure at the trailhead for the numbered posts on the trail. The one mile nature trail is a very steep dirt trail after the short paved section at the trailhead. The scenic viewpoints with benches along the trail make it easier to climb to the summit. The summit has nice views on a clear day of the Three Sisters, Mt Hood, and a number of other peaks. You can drive to the summit as an option to hiking the steep trail. The park has no water fountains at this time that can be used. The trail is located at the second exit for the park on Greenwood Avenue near downtown Bend. A nice park in Bend with three trails, picnics tables, a bathroom, a playground and great views on a clear day of the Cascade Mountains.

Wild Rose Northern Thai Eats is a family-owned restaurant in Bend, OR, offering a vibrant and inviting setting to savor regional specialties from Northern Thailand. The menu features authentic dishes like Sukiyaki noodles, green curry, and moo gratiem, all prepared from cherished family recipes. The restaurant provides an immersive experience of traditional Northern Thai cuisine that engages all five senses. With its popularity, making reservations in advance or ordering ahead for takeout is recommended to enjoy their delectable offerings.
This is undoubtedly one of the top-rated spots in Bend and a must-visit. The food feels authentically Thai, with vibrant, well-balanced flavors. The Som Tum Tod (fried papaya salad) is a standout—crispy, tangy, and perfectly sweet and sour, making it a must-try. The glass noodles (Sukiyaki) and Kao Sui were also excellent, full of flavor (We ordered spice level 3, which was just right for us). Service was outstanding, with our server Willis being exceptionally friendly and courteous.

If I could rate this place 6 stars I would! Came here on a Friday night with my partner; the place was packed but we got lucky and were able to get seats at the bar. I thought for sure we’d have to wait a while for our food to get here but the service was so fast. We got our food within 10 minutes of ordering and it was absolutely delicious. Perfect spice level, exquisite flavours across the board, well crafted cocktails, super friendly staff and extremely reasonable pricing! We shared two dishes with a cocktail each and the cheque came to 66$ (before tip) also the atmosphere and decor is lovely, which really enhanced our dining experience. Highly recommend if you’re in town!

One of the best Thai food we ever had. The deep fried papaya salad is unique. Probably a different take to it but it’s still really good. The kao soi is very tasty and also the stir fry curry noodles.

I grew up surrounded by different kinds of delicious Asian food, so it's quite easy for me to be disappointed by the options available in cities that don't have a lot of Asian people, like Bend. I was initially skeptical about Wild Rose as well, especially upon entering the trendy-looking restaurant in the downtown area, but ended up giving the restaurant a chance with my partner anyway. I'm glad I did, because the food is wonderful. I appreciate Wild Rose for sticking to their specific Thai cuisine, not catering to simply offer exactly what is popular, like the fan favorite dish pad thai. They do have a lot of different dishes to offer, including delicious curries, noodles, and stir fries on their menu. They also have an affordable lunch menu, from which my partner and I ordered. I got the house curry, which was very satisfying. Service was pretty quick during weekday lunchtime, and waiters were efficient and nice. The atmosphere of the restaurant is comfortable and clean. I really liked eating here and would love to do so again.

Excellent service and very willing to discuss the food and culture. The Butterflies (sort of a crab rangoon) had very little filling so it was mostly crunchy fried shell with a really good dipping sauce. We also ordered the See Klong Moo Tod (spareribs) and they were a little dry. The other dish was a special and I don't know the name bit they were enjoyed. It seemed fresh and appealing but we just didn't order the right things to really see the chef and the great table condiments shine.

Guests can indulge in exquisite dishes like wild cod and clams or filet mignon, all crafted to highlight fresh flavors. The restaurant also offers an enticing six-course tasting menu for those looking to embark on a culinary adventure.
I was impressed by the meticulous flavor profiles and carefully curated drink pairings, which included n/a option drink pairings as well as an elevated reserve list too.. This culinary experience stood out as one of the best I've had in Bend, making it an absolute must-visit on a quarterly basis, at the very least. The service was impeccable, and I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of my visit. The setting was notably intimate and semi-secluded, yet adjacent diners were friendly, enabling brief, polite discussions. The restaurant, located in a residential house, was quiet, with muted comments of appreciation for the presented dishes. I merely wish we had an establishment in my current hometown such as this, although I do not believe it would be as highly valued by the type of clientele my town has to offer as patrons. So, for now, I'll be coming back and making it a part of my regular rotation on my quarterly visits.

Kara is da-bomb! I drove three hours from Happy Valley just to eat here—and let me tell you, it was worth every mile. I didn’t stop for fast food because I saw this spot had bone marrow and lamb on the menu. Yes, I planned my whole day around this meal. 😋 From the moment I walked in (in a sweatshirt, flip-flops, and ashy feet, okay?!), the host welcomed me like family—even though they were only taking reservations. That alone deserves a star. 🙌🏾 Now the food… MELTED in my mouth. The timing of each dish was perfection. You get to actually savor the flavors, take a breath, and then enjoy the next plate without being rushed. Everything was fresh, rich, and flavorful. Keto-friendly too! 💪🏾 Zero complaints. The service was kind, patient, and never once made me feel less than—even though I wasn’t dressed like the other patrons. That kind of hospitality matters, especially in areas that aren’t super diverse. If you’re looking for a date night spot or just want to treat yourself to something special, this is it. Add this to your must-try list. The food, the vibe, the people… all five stars from Glitter G!

We love this place for entertaining clients or date night at the bar! The food is incredible. Our server Todd is top notch - friendly, fun, professional, and takes time to get to know the patrons. Try the carpaccio appetizer- it’s SO good! We will continue to come back - it’s a one of a kind gem in Bend.

After a long hiatus, I recently returned for dinner at Ariana and was pleased to find it was good as I remembered. Even for my seat at the bar I made a reservation 30 days in advance. You'd be advised to book early. After the amuse-bouche I started with the Dungeness crab and then the beet salad. Both excellent. Then on to the Halibut for the main. Also excellent. Loved the morels. Enjoyed a couple glasses of Walter Scott pinot noir during the course of the meal. Service and staff professional and friendly. I hope to be back!

Amazing experience. The food was outstanding. It was only matched by the fantastic host - Alyssa who was very classy and REALLY knew the menu well. Most definitely will return.

We visited Bend and are SO glad we got to dine at Ariana while on our trip. Top notch food, cocktails, wine, service, and vibes. We did the chef tasting menu, several life changing dishes! I highly recommend this place to anyone in Bend.
Kaitlin D — Google review
We were the most excited about Ariana’s when we set up our visit to Bend and it didn’t disappoint. Todd was our waiter. He was great as you’ll see in other reviews. The food was so special and delicious. The accommodated my husband’s garlic allergy easily. Everything was top notch. We will be back when we visit Bend again and talked about how if we were locals we would totally have a standing weekly reservation. Do yourself favor and trust the chefs menu. My husband didn’t go that route because of his allergy and was still super satisfied.

Amazing all around. Service was phenomenal and the food, we had the prix and wine pairing, was simple perfect. Atmosphere was energetic yet refined. Would highly recommend.

Deschutes Brewery Tasting Room is a rustic craft brewery that has been open since 1988 and offers guided tours and beer tastings. The daily brewery tour provides an up-close look at the beer-making process, including bottling, and shares the history of the brewery. The staff is knowledgeable and offers great recommendations for trying new beers. Visitors can also enjoy a selection of items in the gift shop.
The barrel tasty brewery tour is one of the best brewery tours that I have experienced. Great value, knowledge guide, fantastic beers. Drink straight from the barrels, one rare bottle of beer included in the package plus discount on beer purchased (which I did). Plenty of parking. Usually swag for sale plus regular beers, rare beers and a nice variety of beers on tap. Highly recommend visiting.

We took the barrel hose tour & then the next day did the brewery tour. Both guides were great! The tasting selections were amazing! Learning about the facility, processes & company history was truly a wonderful experience! Highly recommend!

Pretty basic tasting room with a small indoor area and some food trucks outside. They run tours regularly but we didn’t try it. Good selection of beers though including some tap room exclusives.

Took a tour of the brewery. Very informative and fun! Got the opportunity to try different beers and understand the brewing process. Really great value! Both employees in tasting room and tour guide were very approachable and knowledgeable. Super nice. Would highly recommend!

We love to come here. The food is always exceptional. Our server was great too. She took the time to share some good "local" spots and cheap ways to enjoy the town. This is a family friendly spot. I recommend the mac!

We did the Deschutes Brewery Tour today and loved it! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and informative. We learned a ton and tried a lot of different tasty beer that you can’t get elsewhere. Would highly recommend this tour if you are in the Bend area!

The brewery has a comfortable outdoor space for enjoying drinks and food. I purchased from a food truck and enjoyed it at the brewery. The interior design is outstanding, A visually appealing environment. The cider taste is on point, which is a key factor for many patrons and myself. The interior ambiance reflected the local character of the area. Deschutes Brewing Company is a great spot for enjoying a drink, especially if you appreciate a welcoming atmosphere and good quality beverages. The positive outdoor seating, decor, and cider make it a promising option for both locals and visitors

Outdoor Activities
Phil's Trailhead is a popular destination for mountain bikers in Bend, offering both downhill and cross country trails. The area features sweeping trails through big pines with endless flow, providing high-quality riding experiences. Located just outside of town, the primary trailhead serves as the starting point for the extensive trail system. Visitors staying on the west side of town can even ride from their accommodations to the trails.
Extensive, well maintained trail system smack dab in middle of Bend. Super convenient to get some mileage in with options to make it longer, add climb, navigate rocky errain. New pump track was worth the wait - 6 courses to spread out the crowds and options from strider through black diamonds. Do your part to keep this place awesome 👌
Celia F — Google review
This was our first time at Phil’s. We loved it! We can’t wait to go back and try some new routes. There is something for the entire family at Phil’s Trailhead. I would highly recommend to anyone that is looking for an adventure.

Great trail system that's conveniently located in Bend. Trails are well marked and it's one my favorite places to ride.
Tim G — Google review
Great trails and fun atmosphere of riders willing to help each other out
TyeAnn F — Google review
Awesome trails for all skill levels. Tails are well maintained and riders practice good etiquette. You can take it as easy or go as intense as you want. My friend and I started at around 8:30, did the intermediate trail, going around 12.3 miles. The uphill is a steady and gentle incline with around 3 tricky sections. We had a blast.
Michael L — Google review
Fun rolling singletrack, some one way trails. Nothing too challenging, lots of trails to try.
Eric M — Google review
Great riding Ben’s trail to pine drops to upper whoops back down same way to pine drops and then to Kent’s trail(less sand compared to Phil’s trail. At top skyline also a Greta option
Jim B — Google review
While this trail system may not be as technical as other networks (Such as in BC, etc.) there is still lots of fun to be had. Due to the lack of elevation gain on rides you can easily hammer out a 25-35km route in a few hours and take in some amazing views. Lots of trails so you can create an awesome loop and not ride the same trails. Skills area is fantastic as is the parking lot and facilities. Trail heads and crossings are super well marked. If you are into gravel riding you could probably ride most of these trails on a gravel bike but probably not as much fun as on a mountain bike. Family and beginner friendly and I cant wait to return!

The tasting room has a sophisticated yet fun atmosphere and the staff is known for being welcoming and knowledgeable. Visitors can enjoy cocktails or opt for a flight to sample different spirits before taking home their favorite bottle.
Oregon spirit distillers is a new favorite spot for a pre dinner cocktail and appetizer. We went on a chilly day and sat outside with our dog. It was plenty warm around the gas fire pits they have outside. I really enjoy trying the flights and I'm looking forward to trying the other options on their cocktail menu. They have options for everyone. Their shop on site is great for picking up a bottle you enjoyed.

Cool atmosphere with a great vibe. Plenty of swag and bottles to take home. The beer maiden was super nice and made a fine drink. Had the bourbon margarita and it was excellent. Left with a bottle of gin for my wife and a few bourbon single shots for myself. The wheated rye was most excellent. Tours available and sometimes they have live music.

Did not come for drinks, but for a concert. People who did drink seemed to like it. Parking lot was a little small for all the people there, so be prepared for close contact if coming for concert.

Amazing spot with great drinks, attentive and friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere. I went here for a Galentine’s Bouquet Bar they were hosting and Ashley was so generous, accommodating and sweet. The bartender (I wish I would have gotten his name!) made delicious drinks and was very friendly. I can’t wait to come back for another one of their amazing strawberry lemon drops! 🍓

Good selection of stores. Lo e the Pay-it-Again Sports! Eddie Bauer always has great deals, and the Nike store is crazy cheap if you can find shoes in your size and style. The Pendleton store is great too, but don't be expecting any major discounts. Nice place to stop and grab some deals overall.

not a ton of shops here. looks like it could use a few more retailers and a good anchor retailers. Columbia is here and of course that's several compelling brands but one entire side of the shopping center are vacant store fronts. I actually came here for the Corndog Company truck

Beautiful, clean, popular but not crowded. This is my favorite dog park. An incredible use of space!
JoAnna W — Google review
One of Bend's largest parks with a large dog park and Bend's center for all games 'pickleball'. My dogs love to play there.
Kelly S — Google review
Love the course, its one of my favorites in oregon. Beautiful views of the sisters. Great variety of holes to enjoy. I recommend going early before it heats up. Limited bathroom access while you play and the lava rock will chew up your disc's. Besides that, the course is excellent and i'd gladly chew up a few drivers to enjoy this course.
James L — Google review
Great park! Sports field, pickleball courts, disc golf course, beach volleyball, walking paths. Huge off leash, fenced dog area with a much smaller section for small dogs. The dog area has a mixture of both natural areas and a large grassy field. Quite a few benches, picnic tables, doggy bags, and garbage cans are scattered within the area. During the summer, the sprinklers go off on the grassy field and my pup loves it. Lots of parking available as well. Really love coming here!

Fantastic park! Big dog park is enormous with varied terrain, lots of poop bag dispensers and trash cans, and plenty of water areas. Our husky mix was in heaven. Will definitely be back!

Absolutely huge Kind of busy but you never really see anybody because the place is so big. We were there on the weekend Saturday. We've seen lots of events going on like lacrosse. A few popup tents for vendors. But we were still able to have a quiet day of fishing. It's a very good place to go if you're trying to get your kids excited about outdoor activities
