Landa Park is one of those hidden gems that feels like a little escape without leaving town. Whether you’re coming with kids, friends, or just need a peaceful walk, this place has something for everyone. The natural scenery is beautiful year-round, with huge trees, a calm river, and shaded picnic areas. The paddle boats are a fun touch, and the miniature train ride brings out the kid in everyone. Clean restrooms, plenty of parking, and well-maintained trails make it super accessible. Perfect spot to relax, read, or just breathe. Highly recommended for locals and visitors alike!

Stopped in to eat my lunch at this park. I was surprised at how large it was. Numerous sidewalks and walking areas throughout the park. Lots of green space, picnic tables, and large trees. Their play areas for children volleyball court, and even some nice water features. Picnic tables for lunch as well as restrooms. Office facilities appear to be ADA approved. Barbecue pits and trash cans are conveniently located near the picnic tables. There's also a small gauge train track running throughout the park although I did not see a train. Perhaps it's only certain times of the day? Overall, a very nice surprising family friendly park that I will be sure to visit again for lunch next time.

My favorite park in New Braunfels has been a beloved destination since my childhood, and I'm grateful to now visit with my own children. I enjoy the park's natural surroundings, including its trees, wildlife, and water feature. The train ride and hiking trail are a sweet addition, and paddle boats are also available for recreation.

Schlitterbahn Waterpark New Braunfels is a top warm-weather attraction featuring white-water canyon, waterslides, pools, floats, and thrill rides. It's conveniently located near popular spots like the Guadalupe River for tubing and Natural Bridge Caverns. The park's 72-degree water supply comes from the nearby spring-fed Comal River.
We have our season passes and each summer the kids love it even more. Schlitterbahn has truly become part of their childhood, the kind of place they’ll look back on and smile about. From the lazy rivers to the slides, every visit is full of laughter, sun, and memories we’ll always treasure! It’s clean, safe, and the staff is always friendly. Definitely our favorite summer tradition!

Very BIG waterpark. Was about $100 per ticket at the door. I recommend getting tickets ONLINE because you will save a lot of money. Went on a Monday in June and to be expected there were very long lines for every ride. Be prepared to do lots of walking as well. The food was not good here. We had the burgers, pizza, and their fries and everything tasted frozen and was way overpriced.
MyanCam — Google review
We arrived 20 min before they opened on a Wednesday and bought tickets online. We got in no problem and no wait. We heard that the east side park had the big water slides my kids were excited about so we decided to hit those first. That was a big mistake. My boys waited in line for ONE of those big slides for TWO hours. Not exaggerating. My daughter and I were in line at the other slide for an hour and a half. So by 1:15, we had only been on ONE thing. We are from out of town and didn’t bring coolers so we then waited in line for over THIRTY minutes to spend $115 on coldish not great burgers. So by 2:15 after being there at 10:45, we only had been on one slide. My kids were pretty discouraged and didn’t feel like it was worth the $350 we spent on tickets for the 5 of us. We decided to skip the big slides as they just weren’t worth it and we did the tube chute ones. They were really fun and we enjoyed them. We also enjoyed the lazy river which also was like a wave river. They thought the wave pool wasn’t awesome as it was really small and not that exciting as we have big ones where we are from. I think overall it was a bit disappointing as we traveled a ways and spent a lot of money to wait in long lines. We will not be returning.
Alissa S — Google review
Fun family water park .. Really huge with multiple slides - great lazy river - ample of shaded seating ..! Plenty of attentive staff 💯 The only drawback is the food - very limited options - we ordered the pizza with breadsticks ; pizza was ok but breadsticks were hard and dry 🫤 Chicken sandwich with waffle fries was so hard - like stone really so inedible 👎🏻Overall great all day fun spot - just make sure to bring your own food here ..! Nice shuttle transport from one park to the other 💯
Shehz K — Google review
Some of the rides are a bit unkept, but it’s totally worth it. It’s so much fun! And if you get a season pass with Fiesta Texas you get access to both.
Belkis K — Google review
highly recommended experience for this summer! The food is a bit pricey, but the good thing is that you’re allowed to bring your own, which is a big plus. Also, it’s much better to buy the tickets online — they’re more affordable and it saves time at the entrance. Overall, everything was great: the atmosphere, the attractions, and how well everything is organized. Definitely worth the visit!
Joan P — Google review
We went first weekend of September. No wait time to enter and didn’t wait long at all for rides. I was fun and organized. I you need locker there were 3 different size locker. You can take your cooler and food. Also we were told that there was no shower but clearly there was one in the restrooms by lockers and we used it.

This review is about the wonderful staff of lifeguards and guest relations employee Ebony (unsure of spelling). The lifeguards were extremely friendly all around and always helpful. When I lost my glasses Ebony was a great help as well as reassuring to someone that had become blind again. She also helped another guest find their phone and helped when my fast lane pass ripped. The park as a whole is the best Waterpark I’ve been to yet. Prices are a little high but what can you expect.

It's been years since I've been to a drive in. Super nice staff! Lots of fun. Good icees.

I was really looking forward to visiting, but my experience didn’t quite match what I expected from the reviews and website. When we went into the café, we spent a long time looking at the large menu overhead before ordering, but no one mentioned that only a limited menu was available. It would have been helpful if that had been explained up front. The limited menu itself felt pretty underwhelming, and unfortunately the food wasn’t very enjoyable (it was actually pretty gross!). It would have been helpful to have this listed on the website so that we could have just picked up food on the way there and had something much better to eat. I would also like to add, just from the perspective of someone who has previously ran a business, that the customer service was absolutely awful and made us uncomfortable and feel unwelcome. There were also a few challenges with signage and finding the right theater. Once we got settled, the screen was so dark that it was hard to see. To make things worse, the car in front of us kept flashing their lights right into our eye-line, which really took away from the experience. We really wanted to love this place and hope some improvements can be made, because the idea is great and I can see why others enjoy it. Our visit just didn’t quite live up to what we had hoped for. Are they going out of business or something?

The kids had an amazing time. It was their first time ever seeing a drive in movie. The prices were definitely worth it. We enjoyed every bit of this family time.

I absolutely love this place! Perfect date night spot! Hard to beat 2 movies for less than $10. The concessions food is amazing too and rather reasonably priced! I highly recommend the steak fingers basket! This rivals Dairy Queen, which is saying something! Can't wait to go back this weekend!
Carrie G — Google review
I was pleasantly surprised at this drive-in theatre. I didn’t even realize drive-in theaters still existed. Great experience to watch a movie from the comfort of the car with my wife and dog. The concession stand had great options for food and drinks. I love some fresh popcorn while watching a movie. Great for star gazing at night as well!
MICHAEL M — Google review
My wife and I enjoy going to the drive-in. Their café is nice and white we don't have a need to use the play area there seems to always be kids there playing and having fun. It is a great place for some family fun or just a couple's date night.
Robert F — Google review
This place is trash. Who serves movie theater popcorn that is not fresh in a Dumbo circus box. The butter taste like tussy, then the corn dog came from fiesta and the truck next to us stayed on through an entire 2 hour movie. It was a diesel engine and it even regen. I will not be returning. I remember when y'all use to have long home made corn dogs.
BiPolar B — Google review
Our car died mid movie, we pushed the car to the edge so we wouldn't bother anyone. Then we walked to the booths at the entrance and asked for help. To our surprise they jump you for free. It was very quick! Love it here.

Festival
Cultural landmark
Wurstfest is an annual fall celebration in New Braunfels that showcases the city's rich German culture and heritage. The festival, which spans ten days, offers a wide range of activities and attractions for visitors to enjoy. From traditional German food like bratwurst and sauerkraut to lively music performances on multiple stages, Wurstfest provides a fun-filled experience for all attendees. Additionally, the festival features carnival rides and ample picnic areas for relaxation.
My family loves Wurstfest fest and have finally been going consistently for the past 3 years. The ompa bands (on 5 different stages) are amazing, the food is excellent, they have a nice little Kriskindlmarkt, and it's just all around wholesome fun for the entire family. My daughter and I love the hat tradition they do and have been doing it for the past 3 years. If you haven't been, I highly recommend going. It's as if Oktoberfest from Sept-Oct was not enough, so in 1961 some German-American decided we needed a sequel in Nov, and thank God for that. Can't wait for 2026!
Christopher B — Google review
We had the most wonderful time! This was our first year going and I could tell it will not be our last year going. The venues were all fun. The bands were amazing! The beer of course was on point! And all of the food trucks and the wonderful places to eat were wonderful. Love this, it was fun. It was peaceful. It was great. Thanks so much to the city of New Braunfels for sponsoring this event.
Yvonne J — Google review
The atmosphere at the festival was fantastic, with great energy all around. The live music was especially impressive and really elevated the experience. Unfortunately, the beer itself wasn’t very good, but overall it was still an enjoyable event thanks to the lively vibe and excellent performances
Ivy H — Google review
Last night. One of the "german bands" went full on german. Forthe most partof the night, they werent. Its worth visiting. You will get that german experience in the right place at the right time

Bring your money and willingness to make bad food choices that taste so good! Beer selections are amazing and music and environment make it an incredible experience
Monique M — Google review
If you have a kid with a disability, this review is for you to read: Let me start by saying that it is clear that a lot of people love coming here and have a great time. At least 50% of the people we saw were dressed up and this is a much-loved event. The food was decent, but a bit pricey. I paid $17 for pork schnitzel, a scoop of potato salad, and a bottle of water. I was hoping for better schnitzel at a German festival, but it is what it is. Nothing we had was bad so no hate there. But this place is LOUD. And not loud because the people are loud, loud because they BLARE the music everywhere. Trying to find a quieter spot for my disabled son was more difficult than we had anticipated. This made our whole trip really hard because he was struggling with the noise level. We did get some reprieve closer to the water and on the lower level of the event, but it just wasn't very disability friendly in that way. I would say that its pretty physically accessible. We had our Wonderfold wagon and got around just fine. Obviously its tough to push in crowds, but we got it done. The staff and anyone associated with the event were kind. In fact, when my husband took my son to get ice cream, the vendor went out of his way to make it special. I truly appreciated that. He needed it and felt the love. I do wish the event organizers did a bit more to make it more accessible from a noise stand point. Otherwise, a good event and definitely worth checking out!
Stephanie W — Google review
Wurstfest is the stupidest waste of time and money you will ever find. You park over a mile away, stand in line forever to get to the gate, and if you have a small pocket knife with you, it goes in the trash, or you can walk back to the car. I thought I lived in Texas. Crowds and lines are ridiculous. They have three or four German beers available. Half a beer in a little plastic cup costs $10. Pretty much all of the vendors have shops in the area that you can visit year round. You can go to a German restaurant in New Braunfels any time you like and find a better selection of better food and better beer for a fraction of the cost. It's even pretty common to find live German music. So, what is Wurstfest for?
David W — Google review
If you want to pay 20 bucks to park to walk a 1/4 mile to stand in line to pay another 20 bucks too much money to get in to a place… Imagine paying 20 bucks just to get in to a restaurant… Then realize your restaurant doesn’t allow your multi tool that you carry everyday, so you have to walk a quarter mile back to the car, then finally in, stand in line to pay twice as much for average food as you would at a restaurant… Walk around with your food for a while looking for enough room at a picnic bench to sit long enough for it to get cold, so you can sit at an uncomfortable bench, open 10 little packets of mustard, with a crowd of people listening to some average music, drinking some beer that you paid several times more for than even at a bar… Then walk around in your lederhosen through a crowd… Well- this place is for you. The only redeeming factor is the costumes. I feel violated financially. I could have had a much nicer time at any number of places for three times less money and food that would be twice as good. Call it a festival…

Bodies of Water
New Braunfels offers a variety of accommodations, from luxury lodges to cozy cabins near the Comal River and Guadalupe River. The Comal River is a popular attraction, known for its spring-fed natural beauty and opportunities for swimming, tubing, and riverside relaxation. Stretching through Landa Park and downtown New Braunfels, this river merges with the Guadalupe River and maintains a temperature between 70 and 72 degrees year-round.
Guess we picked the wrong day for tubing 😅. The place is crowded. Useful info: parking and entry is free after 7:00 PM. The park bench is chargeable on weekends and holidays. Plenty of restrooms available
Monika P — Google review
We stopped by on a June summer day to check out the river. The recent rains had enough water for the flow to be moving a gentle rate making it very nice for the tubers. Parking was enough enough. There were some people along the banks and floating the river but not a crazy amount. All was nice, sane and calm.
Traveling G — Google review
I love floating rivers. The float is long, which I like. If I am getting into a river, i want it to actually take a long time to enjoy. I don't want it to be over fast. I love the homes on the river, they're so beautiful. I also love that there are tube chutes during the float. That was unique to this float. I took off a stars for the following reasons: There are TOOOOOO many people on this river. There are some spaces without people but really you are forced to listen to other peoples music for far too long because it is hard to slow down or speed up in most areas. There are people who are dangerously drunk. I have only floated on Wednesdays and apparently that is the day everyone mows their lawn, because the river is FULL of grass and weeds. Also, I have floated this twice, first time no issues with the water. Second time, I got an eye infection from the water. Overall: I might do it again, but honestly would rather find a different float if possible.
Ashly D — Google review
Love bringing the kids here to float the river. Our floats were great the first few days but then monday... I've never seen so many people smoking weed in my life. The whole river was a giant cloud. We also seen one group doing coke. What do you tell.ypur kids when they ask questions?I just don't like my kids around that. Local law enforcement needs to do more.
Patrick L — Google review
We always have a good time floating in the river! It's fun to bring your own tubes and spend the day floating on the cold river water in the hot sun
Silver J — Google review
We were really looking forward to a fun, refreshing trip to the Comal River for Memorial Day weekend, but it turned out to be pretty disappointing. Before heading out, we called around and spoke to several places, all of which assured us the water levels were “normal.” Spoiler alert: they were not. Once we got there, it was clear the river was down at least 3 to 4 feet. Tubing was more like walking—with your tube dragging behind you. You spend more time navigating rocks and shallow patches than actually floating. There were no rapids, no cool flow, and honestly, not much fun to be had. The water was murky and warm, and the riverbed was full of overgrown grass and gunk that you constantly had to wade through. It didn’t feel clean or refreshing like the Comal usually does. It was just hot, slow, and a bit gross. I get that river conditions can vary, but being told it was all good and “normal” when it clearly wasn’t really made the trip feel like a bust. This year was a letdown—we’ve had great times on the Comal in the past, but this wasn’t one of them.
Shannon F — Google review
Absolutely a place for retirees on weekdays. Beautiful water. Low crossing from side to side. You can picnic or use grills to make your food. Tubing also
L M — Google review
Water was low but we still had fun. Call local places to check safe swimming levels.

Live music venue
Gruene Hall, located in the Gruene Historic District of Texas, is a 19th-century dance hall that hosts live country, Americana, and blues musicians nightly. The area offers a glimpse into the state's history with its 19th-century German buildings. Visitors can enjoy glamping getaways in nearby New Braunfels cabins or unique Texas tree houses.
Such a wonderful vibe. Spent a Tuesday evening on a solo trip and walked in absorbing the nostalgic old school venue. Sat on old wooden benches and listened to live music with a cold cider in my hand. Loved every second of it!
David P — Google review
Wow! I almost feel compelled to say it was an honor to visit Gruene Hall in TX! It’s such a well-known venue with a rich history. My son had the privilege of performing here a few days ago. He and his band traveled from Nashville, TN, and are already looking to book it again! Playing Gruene Hall is quite an honor for a country music artist and most of them will say The Gruene is one of those infamous stages like the Grand Ole Opry that performers will have on their proverbial ‘Bucket List’ of dream stages. Watching an up and comer such as Jared Hovis play traditional country music at Gruene Hall is a sight to behold. He was honored to be there, and the tears welled up in his humble green eyes were testament to his true respect for the opportunity to sing at the Gruene!
Kari H — Google review
Lots of memories one can imagine upon stepping through to the main area. I can see cowboy boot wearing guys dancing with their favorite gal… happiness, sweat and a few beers. This IS Texas history, hear the music? I do.
Mary E — Google review
Gruene Hall provides the quintessential Texas experience, a quaint venue with big names at a reasonable price. Sixpence None The Richer is a band I always wanted to see live but hadn’t had the opportunity. I heard rumors of mythical performances at great places like this all over Texas, and finally experienced it for myself. I would visit for the local bands as much as the names. The reviews about the a/c are true, but heat is mitigated by water spritzing fans outside. Gruene Hall is surrounded by a lovely, walkable town, with great galleries, shops and B&B’s as well.
D — Google review
Gruene Hall is just simply The Best place to see a concert in Texas. We just seen Jamey Johnson there and it was Incredible! We have been going to Gruene Hall our entire lives and will never stop. Management, Staff, and the Owners are Great and Gruene Hall remains the epitome of this Great state of Texas. You just gotta go!
Mark W — Google review
One of a kind , only place remotely like it is Luckenbach! Great place for a show , it's a true Tx shit kicking kinda joint! It's a bucket list stop for sure , and the town itself has a lot of character and characters lol
Jerry C — Google review
The legendary dance hall is still going strong. Bringing live music to the crowds many nights each week Gruene Hall does not disappoint. From the pictures of the many performers who have played over the years to the cold beer served from friendly bartenders…it is easy to see why this place is legendary. Free parking nearby.
Traveling G — Google review

Museums
Nestled in the heart of New Braunfels, the McKenna Children's Museum is a vibrant and educational destination for families with young children. The museum offers interactive exhibits designed to engage kids under eight years old in hands-on exploration of space, culture, and technology. Visitors can expect colorful and engaging environments that foster imaginative play and learning.
I’ve been bringing grandkids to this Museum for close to 23 years (13 grands and 2 greats!) and every one of them have loved it! I was however disappointed to see that they have taken down the wall where you can measure their height as this was always a big deal to them. Please bring it back! The kid in the last picture is now 6’3” and a senior in high school! But thank you for keeping a safe, fun, clean place to take kids out of the hot Texas heat! We’ll be back!

We have been bringing our grandchildren here for several years and have always loved watching them enjoy the activities. Everything is generally clean and organized with plenty of places to sit and watch. The gift shop is one of the best I've ever seen. The staff was friendly and helpful. What more could you ask for.

The McKenna Children’s Museum is a great place for kids, on a field trip or a family visit. We went with our 4 grandkids ages 3-9. They have inviting, engaging, educational adventures to explore for all ages. We began in the beautiful outdoor area with a giant climbing structure, a huge water table hands on water play area that fits 25 kids at once on all sides and creative instruments for learning about sounds & the musical scale. Inside there was a grocery store complete with child sized grocery carts, food, hands on check out & more! The kitchen had aprons, cabinets, appliances & an inviting layout. The space ship area was a huge hit with our grandson’s- some were afraid of the darkness & glowing stars. But they still kept going back! They have a very large arts & crafts area for easel painting with smocks, creative arts supplies for building things with recycled materials, glue, pipe cleaners, etc. and a huge sink area to wash kids hands afterwards. The staff was very interactive in cleaning up after the kids and adding new easel paper, paints & supplies. They were always putting the groceries where they belong when kids left a full grocery cart & went on the kid sized camper & camping area with tent, a cave to explore with bats in the corner to pretend night time. There are plenty of places for parents, teachers, & caregivers to sit in the middle of the museum and see several kids at once, in different areas, exploring & playing make believe. There’s more! Check it out! We drive from Houston and it was SO worth the trip!

My son and I have a pass here. It's only $8 per person to enter and play as long as you want. You can even leave and come back once you've bought a ticket for the day. The passes, like i have, last a year and costs about as much as 5 visits. We go every week so it is definitely worth the price for us. My son loves it here and he is occupied for HOURS. They will have different art projects for the kids to do in their art room, as well as a group/class for the little ones with a great lady named Mrs. Kristy. It's overall such a great place and I'm glad we got our passes :)

This place is amazing! So much fun for the little ones, while not being too big and overwhelming. There's a great outdoor area, with water play, jungle gym to climb, big foam pieces that resemble tinker toys. Inside, there's a special baby area, a dress up room, a medical play room, grocery store area, space play, painting room, and more! The prices aren't as steep as comparable places, which is nice. There's an inexpensive café in the same building, or you can pack a lunch and eat outside. We'll be back!

Wonderful play areas for kids of all ages, but especially for my 2 year old. Everything is just the right size for him. :) Great outdoor playscape as well!

A place the kids will ALWAYS have fun no matter how many times we take them! The place is clean and offer a ton activities for the kids! A good way for your child(ren) to learn and play!

If you have a kid who is in kindergarten or younger, this is the place to be! We were there for almost 3 hours and I felt like I was begging my son to leave! There’s just a ton of stuff to do —space section, grocery store, play area, campfire area, water, playing area, dancing, arts and crafts area, toy, store, aquarium, oversize games, area, and more. All for nine dollars. Highly recommend!

Animal World & Snake Farm Zoo, formerly known as just Snake Farm, has evolved from a small reptile farm into a 500-species zoo. The attraction now features not only snakes but also a diverse array of animals including lions, zebras, primates, birds and more. The well-maintained indoor and outdoor spaces allow visitors to get up close to the animals and there's even a petting zoo with friendly llamas, goats and pigs.
This place was such a delightful spot. My mother-in-law wanted to take my niece somewhere fun while she had a short summer stay here, so my husband and I took them both to the Animal World & Snake Farm Zoo. I will admit that I am not usually supportive of zoos and have only been to a couple in the last decade, but this one seemed to take good care of the animals. Staff members were constantly roaming the grounds, checking on animals and refilling waters and such. I was impressed. All of the animals seemed in wonderful spirits, and I captured a good chunk of footage of them that I hope you enjoy. The petting zoo was fun, but do be warned that the goats like to jump! I wouldn’t recommend going in there without some feed. The other animals are very sweet and definitely fun to look at! All in all, it was a delightful trip, and I would heavily recommend this place for any small excursions with children or adults who want to see some animals up close.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 — Amazing Experience at Animal World & Snake Farm Zoo! We visited Animal World & Snake Farm Zoo in San Antonio thinking it would just be a small place with a few snakes, but it turned out to be way beyond our expectations. We ended up seeing so many different snakes and animals, and the highlight was the huge lion we got to see from so close — honestly the closest we’ve ever been to a lion! The place has a great variety of wildlife, and the experience felt much bigger and better than we imagined. We added some pictures because it was truly worth capturing. Overall, we had a great time and really enjoyed the visit. Definitely recommend it if you're in San Antonio!

It's such a great place with a feel of back in the day entertainment. Of course everything is about money these days but here, it feels much more laid back. The majority of the employees are of this new younger generation so they are absolutely horrible with real life human interaction. Most have zero personality. With that being said, the shows every 30 min, the petting zoo, the free roaming chickens, being able to interact with the animals more than any zoo, all of it is really great. So, despite 90% of the employees walking around like zombies because they have zero social skills, it's worth a visit. If you want to save money, do not buy any food or drinks, it's all outrageously expensive. For a group of six, one cup of food is absolutely plenty. The little cup of worms is not worth the price. But you'll be going for the experience with the animals & it's wonderful

We had a blast! We did one encounter with the capybaras. All the enclosures looked really clean and well kept. It even smelled okay for a bunch of animals. I can't say that for most places I have been. They have a bunch of reptile enclosures and although not all are accurate to their nature habitat they are well kept and clean. All the reptiles looked healthy. The overall size of the entire zoo is rather small but it packs a lot in the footprint.

Would visit again. The most venomous snakes displayed here and as well as other African exotic animals. You get to feed goats and an alpaca. You can hear lions call and hyenas. There are hand sanitizer stations and a hand washing in convenient areas.

My daughter's birthday tradition is to go to Buccees for lunch and then the Animal World and Snake Farm. She loves it. Turned 16 this year. We went on August 4, a Monday. Not crowded at all. We arrived mid-day. Not expecting the animals to be active as the sun was at peak, but was very happy to see the 3 wolves, the Lions and the hyenas moving about. It isn't a long visit but we enjoy coming every year. The staff are nice and eager to help. And the facility is clean and safe. The tickets are a bit pricey, but for small zoo, it is worth it.

We are thoroughly impressed with The Snake Farm in New Braunfels, which offers an exceptional experience. The staff is consistently friendly and provides educational insights into the various animals. The petting area and reptile exhibits within the building are particularly noteworthy, and the numerous exhibits and educational activities, such as rock mining, are equally impressive. The gift shop serves as a lovely reminder of our visit.

My husband, three-year-old and I love this place! The animals seem happy and you can see them so much more closely than at the big zoo. We also caught the pop-up show featuring their owl! He is beautiful! My son loves the petting zoo. There’s so many goats and deer! There’s even a calf, llama and a white reindeer! This was our second visit and we will definitely go again!

In collaboration with Burton Snowboards, the park offers programs catering to all skill levels, including learn-to-ride sessions and private lessons.
We went this past weekend. Took my daughter and best friend for her birthday and they had a blast. Someone in the reviews mentioned the manager is racist and if you’re dark you won’t be treated right, we had the very opposite experience. My husband had a dark complexion and fully tattooed and who I assumed was the manager helped us out and got us to the front of the line when we’re done with everything we needed to do. He was extremely helpful as was the front desk and the guy handing out the life jackets. The ONLY complaint I have is I wish we could take our own supply of water. I nearly passed out from the heat. They have water to sell obviously it’s just waiting in line that took a toll. Other than that it was a great experience all around and we plan to be back very soon.

Went to Aqua Park with a half a day ticket and thoroughly enjoyed it. The facilities are maintained well and the water is clean 👌 I would have easily given a 5 star rating, but there were a few things that we were not happy about: - The French fries in Might Oak BBQ food truck were not fried at all. It felt like steamed potatoes, and we had to throw away two portions. Complete waste of $10 - The changing rooms/facilities were mediocre. We could get to close the door, and one of us had to hold the doors in place. - The hand wash stations did not have water. Having said that, we will surely come back again because we really enjoyed Aqua Park and it is excellent value for money as well!! So kudos to the Texas Ski Ranch team. The lifeguards were super friendly and took good care of an unfortunate girl who had a bad dive from one of the platforms. For those who like water skiing, the facility has some nice options, too.

My wife, and two cousins came here on a Sunday and were greeted by two nice young ladies at the counter. The process was simple and they explained the waiver and pricing, and were even nice enough to let us know we were eligible for the early bird discount for Sunday mornings. Great first impressions of the building, the instructional video was not boring, and they looked like they had lots to offer (Bar, axe throwing, aqua park, beach area for non-participants, etc.). We were guided to the lil bro cable since this was our first time wakeboarding where Wyatt, helped us through the process and eventually we were able to get up for the first time! I think that having good staff that are knowledgeable and patient can really sell this experience. I graduated and moved onto the big cable and successfully got going three times, and rounded the first corner! An employee even picked me up with a golf cart once to make my trip back quick and efficient. We were only there for 1 hour, but the experience lived up to the hype, as I was very excited to try this sport out. As we left, another employee (or manager) even provided free donuts! I am happy to say that this establishment surpassed my expectations and has landed a new customer from Houston. We will be back and I'm excited to share this location with some friends in the near future! The only thing that was unexpected was the hours of operation are different from what I had initially read online (a few months ago), but that makes sense since there may be less traffic due to back to school and summer being over.

We had the pleasure of being able to go to the aqua park in New Braunfels! This inflatable water park was so awesome! Attaching photos! Lol when we first got there we had Kaylee check us in and give our bands! She is the sweetest thing! (Her nails were on point to..side note lol) she explained everything very well and sent us on our way! To where we got to meet the amazing Luke! Such a sweet gentleman! He got us situated with our life vests and explained the aqua park area! He is just the little southern charm you never knew you needed in your life lol. Definitely a good kid! On the way out we got to interact with Raegan who wished us a great day and thanked us for coming! The whole staff is just super nice! Definitely recommend going on a weekday from 9a-1p as it’s only $10 for that time! Thanks again!!

We went to TSR today to go to their Easter egg hunt. My kids were super excited about it and since we have been before I was as well. The bar is awesome, the staff friendly and there are so many little hang out spots it's an awesome place to pretend you are on the beach. I was a little bummed with the Easter egg hunt, they said they took care of all of the ant hills but I think they did it the morning of as the ants were still active. I also would have suggested an egg limit as my kids were at the back of the group they only got 2 eggs between all 4 kids. We still had a great time and I was glad we went.

Immerse yourself in the rich history and German cultural heritage of New Braunfels at The Sophienburg Museum & Archives. Housed in a charming limestone-walled building, this museum offers a fascinating journey through the town's origins and its early German immigrant settlers. Explore an array of local artifacts, photographs, and informative exhibits that vividly depict life in the 1800s.
Love this museum. Would love to see more about the founding women of New Braunfels in the museum 😄. Not a lot of them are named or credited with much else other than taking over their husbands’ businesses… just a thought that would make it even better for visitors!! I’d love to go again & see even more exhibits/updated information.

This museum tells a detailed history of the settlement of Texas arraigned by German nobility in the mid 1800’s. There is an amazing collection of artifacts that were saved and donated by the German population. The lobby has a nice explanation of the evolution of the major oil companies. There is a short film that introduces the immigration process. There is a small, city like old town to walk through. The highlight to me is the age, conditions, and variety of artifacts. Cost is $ 8 for adults.

A smaller Museum offering a clear glimpse into past local Germanic history. Unusual items have created this Museum, well worth meandering through & reading about it all. Prince Carl of Old Braunfels in Germany arrived here to create this town of New Braunfels. Dont firget to visit " Sophie's Shop," their German gift Shop. Enjoy the photos.

This was our 1st time here, which was very interesting and very nicely set up. If you like history, especially of this town of why and how it came to be, this will answer your questions. They have a lot of old artifacts it's small yet full of a lot of interesting information. How this Prince Carl Solms-Braunfels came to be and why it is New Braunfels. The staff is very knowledgeable and very friendly. Be nice to go, at least so you know the history of New Braunfels.

06/04/2025 12-2pm my visit Amazing store and lots of great items. I removed 2 stars for the employees. I needed several things from the case, they acted like it was a big bother. Not friendly, huffing and acted annoyed. They wanted to just sit behind the counter and do nothing but eat their snacks. I'm a big antique buyer and didn't buy everything I wanted because I would have needed to ask them to open about 5 more cases and after the 3rd I was getting annoyed with the unfriendly/unhappy behavior from them. So I can imagine how many vendors are missing out on sales because of the staff. Upon reading other reviews, this has been an ongoing issue for over a year, so possibly nothing will be done... if my friend and I come back and the issue continues, we'll try and get ahold of the owners to make sure they're aware. I've personally watched people's business end up in the toilet because of staff like this. The store, though, is amazing and fun to shop as long as you don't need assistance or ask any questions.

Im sure there is a logical reason that this store has now been downsized. Not even close to half the size it used to be as they have made the one large building into two separate shops now. A lot of good venders gone. I used to be able to spend a couple of hours in here looking through everything. Today it took me 20 minutes to see everything and I was out the door. Its more of an antique shop than mall now. Hope this isn't the begging of the end as we already lost Greune Antiques. I just wasnt ready to see how small the store is now. Glad I got to visit the old store many of times. 4 stars cause you used to be the best antique store around. No five star rating because of the new downsized shop. Booo
Korbin — Google review
This place has a ton of stuff. Some of the vendors have some amazing items. They did seem to be doing some downsizing in one of the basement areas when we were there. We spent a couple hours there and I didn't even get to see everything. Most of the prices seemed really steep for some of the items. I am sure that some were appropriate, but some were just way out of the park and unfair to people who know the value of some things. I know people make a living selling antiques and collectables, but for people traveling through, they would sell a lot more if the prices were close to reasonable. That being said, definitely worth a stop and look, just verify what something is worth before you rush to purchase.

The Museum of Texas Handmade Furniture tells the story of New Braunfels and the state of Texas' German immigration through the display of handcrafted furniture made by settlers in the late 1800s. The museum is located in a historic home that once belonged to Nan and Bill Dillen, longtime collectors of Biedermeier furniture.
Looking for something to do on a Tuesday afternoon, we chanced upon this museum. It is interesting to get insights into the influence of German immigrants on the furniture trade in New Braunfels. The Museum of Homemade Furniture is a step back in time to the mid 19th Century Texas. The museum fills every room with handmade craftsmanship. Beds, cabinets, desks, etc. Are on display to see up close (just don’t touch). Unfortunately pictures are not allowed inside the museum (not sure why). But trust me it’s worth the $8. A much unexpected bonus are the various cottages and buildings on the grounds that show (sometimes demonstrate) skills and crafts of that time.

Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels, TX is a popular destination for both locals and tourists, especially during the summer months. This expansive waterpark offers 51 attractions, including a spring-fed river, tubing experiences, lazy river sections resembling a real river, as well as various waterslides and play areas. Visitors can experience the thrill of plummeting down the six-story-tall Master Blaster Uphill Water Coaster or enjoy leisurely activities in wave and wading pools.
We are kings island platinum pass holders and decided to visit while in Texas. The old part of the park is nice with its not so lazy rivers that use river water from nearby. They have a lot of kid friendly areas and it’s nice to be able to bring in coolers. The only negative was many line jumpers that the park did nothing about in either section old or new.
Brian R — Google review
Not really worth going. So much has changed, you have to wait in a line to get in the wave pool plus you have to wear a life jacket to even get in the wave pool. The falls was completely drained and not running. And the Congo, hillside, and cliffhanger tube chute rides get cut off half way.
Robin B — Google review
My goodness I had fun. So glad we bought season tickets for the entire set of grands. East or West sides have plenty for this crew from 5 to 55 and beyond. Lazy rivers on both sides. Wave pools, “heated” pools, rides, fun. Food plan is easy. If you go daily it’s under 2$ a meal. Say yes and you may find yourself going even if the kids don’t want to or can’t. Labor Day weekend had line for rides, but still fun.
Jennifer D — Google review
It was fine. We got there before the park opened and there was already a crowd of people. Parking was easy. I was disappointed with long wait times (we only got on 4 attractions) and waited close to an hour for each... The chutes kept getting jammed up with people... My family enjoyed the chutes that connected to the river. It's also nice that you can float around for a bit before continuing and that you can exit along the route if you choose. Tips: Bring yown cooler-this is a must since food and drinks are crazy expensive. Do not wear anything that you like... the tubes leave black marks on your skin and clothes. They will get marked up. Personally, I don't think it's worth the price. If you go, make sure you're getting a discounted ticket.

We went to Schlitterbahn New on 8/7-8/9 2025. Stayed at The Resort. Which is really is large group of old motel rooms. Our room was very dark and felt like a dungeon. One window only that was covered so you couldn’t see out. Three curtain panels that when closed wouldn’t cover the window. Bathroom sink wouldn’t drain and no water pressure. Shower curtain was too short so the floor got super wet. Filth under one of the two beds. Very thin inner walls between rooms!!!!. I did report all this to the resort front desk. *** BEWARE*** the room photos online are not the actual rooms you get. The website photo attached is what they show online for our room. What we actually got was a room made of 3 outer walls were brick walls painted a dark Grey and the front wall of the room was a solid brick wall with a door and the floors are a medium Brown adding to the darkness. BUY THE YELLOW FAST LANE PASSES ONLINE for $99 because We bought the Yellow Fast Lane Pass at the PARK and it was $139 each for one day. Two totaled (with taxes and fees) $300.29 A bottle of water was $5.00. Positives: the shuttle buses ran often and were air conditioned, the drivers and other employees were very helpful and courteous. We all enjoyed the rides. The Torrent River as our favorite. Both West and East parks were clean. There was a pool close to our room.

Best Waterpark I've ever been to . Lazy river for all ages and plenty of water rides to hop on. Huge pool to relax and best of all our son loved it. We are forever going every Summer till life allows us to.

DO NOT BUY GOLD PASS HERE two different times two different gate employees refused to make a card after one had been purchased, now i have the joy of having to come back and make a scene to get what i paid for. Park is great when rides are working, floods etc damaged a lot and 3/4 of the park was unavailable last time i was there.
Huley M — Google review
Wow - another thing ruined by private equity and large corporation. Used to be fun. Now so full of people we could hardly enjoy the park. We arrived early before the park opened. Walked straight to MasterBlaster when we were let it and proceeded to wait 1 hour. Rode it one time then went to the lazy river. Things started to fill up so we went to the old park. This park was bursting at the seams we rode one small ride (downhill slide on the top of the house) and then realized all lines were over an hour long to do any of the floating rides. So we decided to go back to other parks and proceeded to wait 40 mins to ride the tram. What a joke! My recommendation - stike schlitterbahn from your list of potential summer activities. This place is dead to me and will not be coming back. I will be telling everyone I know to avoid this place like the plague.

Specialty Museums
The New Braunfels Historic Railroad and Modelers Society is a must-visit for history enthusiasts and train lovers. Housed in a converted rail depot, the museum showcases a locomotive, antique rail cars, and an elaborate model train set. Visitors can explore the collection of train memorabilia and learn about the role of railroads in shaping the region's development. The museum also offers interactive exhibits that provide insight into the history of railroads in New Braunfels.
The old train station is very well preserved, and inside there’s an extraordinary model train display. The staff is kind and respectful. The visit is quick, but it really allows you to imagine what it was like to travel by train decades ago, including the kind of luggage people used back then.

Such a charming and unique stop! Full of character, history, and amazing little details — perfect for train lovers or just anyone looking for something different. What truly made the visit special was the person who greeted us. Extremely kind, helpful, and clearly passionate. They took the time to show us around and answer every question with genuine enthusiasm. A hidden gem with a lot of heart — so glad we stopped by.

Very cute stop. No charge to see the exhibit. I bought a magnet to support the facility. Its run by volunteers so please be kind to the folks there. Its about a good 15 minute exhibit. Fun stop would recommend if you are near by.

Stopped by with my children and wife looking for something free to do while in town and we were all blown away by the exhibits! None of us were especially interested in trains before this visit but it was fascinating walking onto the passenger train and taking a close look at the steam engine, as well as all the pieces of history tied to the area and trains in general. The owner's wife even came by to show us their model train setup which nearly took up an entire building towards the back of the facility! We were even blessed to watch a train pass right by us on an active railroad passing through town while aboard the passenger train, I would highly recommend checking this out if you're in the area!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ All aboard the awesome train at this historic station-turned-museum! The staff are friendlier than a conductor waving you onto the express, and they know more about trains than a locomotive knows tracks. I asked one guy about steam engines, and he rattled off facts like he was born in a coal car! The vibe is so welcoming, I half expected them to hand me a conductor’s hat and let me yell “Choo choo!” through the exhibits. 10/10, would ride this history trip again! 🚂

The brewery has gained recognition for its drinkable craft beers that are distributed in several cities. With an inviting outdoor seating area and friendly staff, it's the perfect spot to unwind with friends or family.
Truly a gem. It’s a lovely place to go on any evening and enjoy some good beer and food. We always got pizza because their Detroit style pizza is amazingly delicious! We lived in Converse and would make the drive up there to enjoy some live music, beer, and pizza on a Friday or Saturday night. You can tell there’s a lot of pride in this brewery and the grounds of it are so cute with the gardens. We always had wonderful service and a wonderful experience.

Guadalupe Brewing Company and Pizza Kitchen is a great spot for a fun and relaxing evening. The Detroit style pizza is absolutely delicious and pairs perfectly with their great selection of beer. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff is friendly, and the garden areas add a really nice touch. There’s often live music which makes it even more enjoyable, whether you’re hanging out with friends or spending time with family. Service was excellent and the whole experience was very enjoyable. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area!

Expansive brewery. Limited indoor seating but loads of shaded outdoor spaces. We had pizza and beer and enjoyed both. Beer menu is huge, so there is bound to be something for everyone. They have more than pizza, burgers and fried pickles caught my eye. Space is pet friendly. Also a few vendors on site, it’s for fun.

Guadalupe Brewing Company & Pizza Kitchen is one of our favorite places to relax in New Braunfels. They always have a great selection of beers — plenty of variety, and everything tastes fresh and well-crafted. The pizza is really good, and the fried pickles are a hit every time. There’s lots of outdoor seating, and the live bands make the atmosphere even better without being overwhelming. It’s a fun, laid-back place with friendly staff and consistently good service. Overall, a great spot to grab a cold beer, enjoy good food, and listen to live music outdoors.

Guadalupe Brewing never disappoints. I don't get there as much as I'd like because I live in West SA. The pizza is delish & the brews are always consistently good! Nice staff & ample indoor & outdoor seating!

Everything is great at Guadalupe Brewing! Great food, great atmosphere, live music, and some amazing brews! Lovely way to enjoy your grown-up time without the kids. Cold beer, good food, great views of the garden and live music. Our favorites are the 🍺 Show Dr Bola, any of the stouts... really anything on the menu! The carnitas 🍕 pizza is a good go-to with spicy cheesy jalapeños baked into the Detroit syle crust! Get outta here' The staff and management are Amazing! Clean bathrooms and facilities. Plenty of parking in front and back. Cheers 🍻

Amazing pizza and atmosphere!! Loved so much. Giving only 4 stars because I’d love it to be a little more kid friendly. There were no hair chairs in any of the seating areas or restaurants (I honestly didn’t think that was legal). Just provide some high chairs and put a giant connect 4 game in the gravel and it would shoot up to 5 stars. Excited to go back!

Bakery
Naegelin's German Bakery is a historic establishment dating back to 1868, making it one of the oldest continuously operating bakeries in Texas. Originally owned by the Naegelin family, it was later acquired by the Granzin family in the early 1980s. The bakery offers an array of delectable treats including specialty breads, tortillas, cakes, cupcakes, cookies, Danish pastries, donuts, and more.
Brought my family over this morning to see this historic bakery and it did not disappoint. The workers were so nice and helpful. We ended up buying the vanilla and apricot macaroons. They were the best we have ever tasted! 👌 My only regret is that we didn't buy more.
Eric V — Google review
The historic bakery is situated in the middle of New Braunfels' downtown. It's been around for well over 100 years. The staff here is wonderful. They're very friendly, efficient, and helpful. If you're looking for something special, they can make it happen. The number of different pastries that are available is pretty amazing. It seemed like that had everything imaginable: Cakes, pie pies, cupcakes, cookies, donuts, turnovers, cinnamon rolls, bear claws, muffins, strudels...you get the picture. The cakes and the pies looked the most delicious. Unfortunately, I didn't have any of those. None of the pastries looked particularly good. I can't explain it but they just looked flat. They tasted that way too. Too dense for my liking, not flaky or fluffy. I was disappointed and surprised. The coffee was good. There are small picnic tables in front of the bakery and on the side of the building. It's very cozy. There was plenty of parking on the street and a smaller parking lot next to the bakery. There's also a drive-thru where you can pick up your orders on the run. I'm glad I visited saw this historic bakery. I don't think I'll be back for pastries again. I would like to try one of the cakes, pie, or macaroons if I ever come back.
Roy A — Google review
Definitely worth a stop! They have everything! Traditional baked goods, kolaches, cookies, German items that you would never find at a American bakery and also branded gift items. They have a lot of seating outside and are conveniently located near many restaurants. They also have a drive-through.
Misty B — Google review
I called to order a birthday cake celebrating our adult kids and their spouses. All were flying in to celebrate Dias De Las Muertos - so I asked the Naegelin cake department to be creative with how the cake would be decorated - but asked that they perhaps bring both celebrations together. All I can say is - we were BLOWN AWAY! That cake was incredible! Delicious! Beautifully decorated! Absolutely amazing!
Rita V — Google review
Very fun place, the food seems mostly all the same pastry with slight variations. I got a cherry turnover and a pretzel stick. My wife got a chocolate eclair and a donut stick. All of it was very good but there were several items we weren’t interested in, a very fun experience all in all.
Joel B — Google review
Kolache’s were ok. Nice selection of baked goods. Shop was older but neat. Not very busy during the week. Would try again to get a variety of items. Tried the sausage kolache and cream cheese pastry. Nothing special about them. Calling card was oldest bakery in NB. Maybe I just missed their signature items.

The New Braunfels Fire Museum, located in the city's former Central Fire Station, offers a fascinating look into the history of firefighting in the area since 1972. Opened in 1995 on the city's 150th anniversary, this museum is a great place to explore firefighter history and see an array of firehouse memorabilia. The museum provides an interesting insight into the firefighting profession and also features documentation on extinct animals.
I recently took my family to the Fire Fighter Museum in New Braunfels, TX, and we had an amazing time. Craig and Dawson were absolutely fantastic — they took the time to answer all of my son’s questions, and their knowledge and friendliness made the experience even better. We learned so much from them. The museum’s collection of antique fire trucks and old firefighter equipment was fascinating, and after seeing it all, I have an even greater admiration for the sacrifices and dedication of those in this honorable profession. I highly recommend taking the time to visit these New Braunfels heroes. The best part? It’s free!
Nathaly R — Google review
The museum is small but very charming. The antique fire trucks are in excellent condition, as well as the equipment from that era. The building is very well preserved, and the exterior staircases are absolutely beautiful. It’s definitely worth a visit!

Have to stop next door and talk to the firemen if it's not open already. Jeff showed us around and he made my daughter's day! Very knowledgeable and friendly. Made the tour fun and made jokes, knew all the information.
Ericka W — Google review
I'm so glad we arranged a tour of this museum. I wasn't sure what to expect. Greg opened the museum for us and took the time to give us a great deal of information about local history, the history of firefighting, and, of course, the history of the fire station. They just celebrated 100 years, and dedicated the station as a Texas historic landmark. They're the third oldest fire station in Texas. And the best part, he let us sit in the fire trucks!
Rex D — Google review
Fascinating tour! Not knowing any better, we just showed up to the museum since Google Maps listed it as open, but there are no dedicated staff on premises. We called the number and we're directed to the fire station next door, where fortunately the captain was available to unlock the old firehouse and give us a detailed tour. Easily one of the best guided museum tours I have ever been on! Very educational. Next time, I will make sure to call ahead just in case. :D

Located in Gruene, Texas, The Gristmill River Restaurant & Bar is a historic dining spot housed in an 1878 cotton gin. With a shady patio offering picturesque river views, this restaurant serves up classic American fare such as chicken-fried steak, burgers, and ribs. The location next to the famous Gruene Hall makes it a popular choice for visitors looking to enjoy good food and live music.
Ambiance: Rustic and hill-country charming restaurant offering gorgeous views of the river and area! We enjoyed sitting on the patio around sunset for dinner and drinks. Fast and friendly service. The pasta salad was refreshing and on the spicy side - unique for sure! All of their appetizers and side dishes were shareable and tasted great. Street and paid parking nearby - Does get crowded! Great spot for tourists, birthdays, celebrations, or just enjoying a day by the river. Walking distance to several other shops/bars/spots. Dog friendly!

Great food, they offer a big selection so there should be something for everyone. Everything we ordered was delicious. The location is beautiful. Just be aware it is not air-conditioned. They do have fans, and the fresh air flows through the open windows, but with the summer Texas heat it's still warm. The open air views do make for great atmosphere. Overall we enjoyed our visit, and will return, but maybe in the fall/ winter months.

We had a really great time here! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. The only downside was how hot it was during our 6pm visit. It would be wonderful if they could add misters or some cooling option for guests dining in the heat (through out not just certain spaces). That said, we’ll definitely be back once the weather cools down a bit, because the food and hospitality make it worth it!

We love this restaurant and we come every time we visit the area. It’s a really cool building situated right by the river in a fun area, so the vibes are great. We had a very kind and attentive server and we were well taken care of. Lots of delicious options on the menu. We would definitely recommend the onion rings, they are the best!

The food wasn't really good. I think the place is more about going out having a good time, being with family, friends etc. I think they had a lake, but because I'm not frim there I didn't know about until I heard a local ask to be seat with the view of the lake as I was leaving. Service was decent, but I understand because the place was packed! The outside seating area was cool, but there was a skunk prowling the premises. That area does look like a cool place to hang out at if you go to the water park, and want something to do later

I agree with the other reviews that if you’ve experienced wineries outside of Texas or internationally, you will find these wines underwhelming. While personal taste is subjective, the real disappointment was the service and overall attitude. I did the four wine tasting for $12 but had to return to the counter for each pour, which took away from the experience - it didn’t feel like a proper tasting. I sampled the Heath Sparkling Blanc de Blanc (the only one I liked), Texas Cab Blanc Rosé, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir (all by Winery by the Gruene which were overly sweet and barely drinkable). When I asked questions about the wines or sought recommendations, the staff member was unhelpful, didn’t attempt to understand my preferences and seemed frustrated by my questions. It’s disappointing when a winery can’t confidently speak about its own products.
Christine K — Google review
My fiancé and I recently visited the Winery on the Gruene and absolutely loved it! It is a really nice spot in the heart of Gruene and its great location makes it easy for relaxing with a glass of wine after walking around town. The staff is friendly and helpful with tastings, and the flights are a good deal with both classic and fun fruit flavors. I ended up getting a bottle of their Watermelon White Merlot after trying it, and it was surprisingly refreshing and easy to drink. The patio is the best place to sit in my opinion but maybe not in the Texas heat, just depends on the time you go. The only downside is it can get busy, so service slows a bit, and the inside feels a little tight on hot days. Nonetheless it was a great spot and we’ll be back.

The Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre, originally a movie theater dating back to 1942, has been transformed into a vibrant performing arts center. Located in the historic downtown district of New Braunfels, Texas, this venue offers a diverse range of entertainment including live music, ballet, Broadway musicals, orchestra concerts, comedy shows and Family Flicks presentations. The theater was saved from closure in the late 1990s through community efforts to preserve its iconic space.
I really liked this place. Our seats were purchased late and were at the very back on the balcony. Some may think they were bad seats because we were not close to the stage, but for me, it was perfect. Other than the people in front who were wiggly but that was okay because I could stand up and not bother anyone. Volume was okay. The only negative about the whole evening was the parking. Apparently New Braunfels is a happening place on weekends and parking was a little difficult to find. But we did and it all worked out. Definitely wasn't to go to another show there sometime.

Overall, the Brauntex Performing Arts Center is not just a venue for entertainment; it's a place where the staff, especially Robin and Dale, go out of their way to create unforgettable experiences for their guests. I highly recommend visiting this gem in New Braunfels for an unforgettable arts and culture experience. We've gone to a few shows here now. We attended the Frank Sinatra show a few weeks ago & were seated in the balcony. The seats are lined up so your view of the stage will most likely be blocked by the person directly in front of you, especially if they have a long torso. The leg room is pretty good; compared to the Majestic Theatre balcony in SA there is a lot of leg room. Floor seat leg room is pretty comparable between the two theatres. Easy to get in and out of the theatre. If you aren't very mobile, I'd get floor seats since the stairs are steep to get to the balcony seats. They have a small bar with 2 bartenders. The lines are usually very long & slow. There were about 8-10 people in front of us (mostly couples) & it took about 20min to get to the front of the line. I know there isn't a lot of space, but doubling the number of people working back there would speed things up a lot. Oh...and the balcony can get really hot. They finally turned on the air about 20min into the show. I get that the show was in January, but heat rises & we were cooking until it came on.

I did kids Klasses here, the experience? Wonderful! Everyone is welcoming and very kind, its a nice break after a long day of school! The community of the kids that go there are absolutely amazing! I'm not a parent, but I do know that this is a great place to send your kids!

I've attended several shows at Circle Arts Theatre. All of my experiences have been fantastic. The facility is intimate and clean. Parking is so easy and ticket prices are affordable. They even have one night for each show where you can pay what you can. I've also sent my son to camps and kids shows. He loves it and has made lifelong friends.

It had been a while since we went to such a fun production at a really nice venue. Not a bad seat in the house, and everyone is very friendly. Looking forward to more shows there! It is small, but that's part of the charm.

Huisache Grill is a charming bistro that offers a regional menu along with beer and wine in a cozy setting with exposed beams. With 30 years of operation, the owners have created an establishment where classic dishes like sesame-almond-crusted trout and tortilla soup remain as delicious as ever. The mixed grill plate offers delectable options, and the staff can suggest perfect wine pairings.
My husband and I attended the @hopeful_acres gala recently. We won a $50 gift certificate to @grillhuisache @huisachegrill303. My first experience with Huisache Grill was having its charcuterie board as part of the picnic with @amazingco a few years ago. We visited this past Saturday for lunch. We started with the fried oysters as our appetizer. Dad ate the Turkey Sandwich with fries. Hubby had the Cheezy Burger. I had the Duck Salad. Everything was phenomenal and Jeffrey ensured we were covered, filling our drinks. It's definitely worth a trip from San Antonio to New Braunfels. Check it out!

Mongolian beef wasn't like any Asian Mongolian beef I've tried. Laced that soy flavor. It wasn't bad but tasted more like beef stew or goulash. The 3 salad plate included tuna, seafood, and spinach salad. The apple crisp dessert was good.

From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for something special. This restaurant absolutely exceeded every expectation I had — from the quality of the food, to the warmth of the service, to the overall atmosphere that made the entire evening unforgettable. The food? Impeccable. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully plated, and bursting with flavor. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in sourcing fresh, high-quality ingredients and executing each item on the menu with care and precision. Each bite felt like a culinary celebration. The service? Flawless. Attentive without being overbearing, the staff struck the perfect balance of professionalism and friendliness. Our server was knowledgeable, made great recommendations, and made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout the entire meal. The atmosphere? Inviting, elegant, and comfortable. Whether you’re looking for a romantic date night spot or celebrating with a group, the ambiance hits all the right notes — relaxed yet refined, with just the right lighting, music, and layout to make you want to linger long after your plates are cleared. This is the kind of place you remember and can’t wait to return to. Five stars doesn’t feel like enough. Highly recommend to anyone who loves food and values a true dining experience.

Amazing place - highly recommend! Our party of three couples with three huge dogs stopped by for early dinner on one of the 100+ degree hot days and we were amazed! The staff was very welcoming to our dogs, offered Ivey water to them, found a peaceful place, brought extra fans, and so on. Thank you, Josephina, for creating the best first experience at this place. The Chief is ANAZING! Every dish was made with love. We will definitely visit again. Thank you 🙏

Everything about it. Five stars. Won't let you down in any way when it comes to indoor service. Might be slower service when it's very busy, but that's only natural and necessary for their best results.

First time dining here with adult children & grand children. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection! Hubby & Son-in-law had the Ribeye medium rare...PERFECT! Daughter & I had the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp...deeelicious! Grandson (9) enjoyed kids steak and Grand daughter (6) loved the kids pasta dish. Of course ice cream sundaes for dessert! Since they do not take reservations, we decided to arrive at 5PM to beat the rush. We actually got there a tad early so enjoyed a nice Sauvignon Blanc at the outdoor bar. We waited only a few minutes, then were seated and promptly met by a server that took our drink orders. They have a nice wine menu and we found a great bottle from Bordeaux that was quite tasty! We ended up spending about 3 hours there, eating and chatting. They did not rush us along, rather, let us enjoy our family time. Overall we had a very enjoyable evening with great food, wine and service! I highly recommend this restaurant! Sorry no photos, too busy enjoying time with the family. OH parking can be tricky if the front lot is full, so look for the overflow area.

This place was so cute and relaxing!! AND BUSY!! With live music throughout the day and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, we enjoyed a wine flight and an awesome winarita! It was the perfect way to relax while walking around the town. We loved it!!

This was an impromptu stop. We were on our way back to our parked truck when the lively music and atmosphere drew us in. It was such a wonderful experience, to see everyone so jovial and genuinely friendly! Can't wait to go back!

This spot is always a good stop. Has never disappointed. Good cold beer and wine 🍷 and a chill outdoor patio and amazing music 🎶 to suit. It’s was so freaking hot yesterday and when you walked in the inside felt a tad muggy and hot needing to fan your self off while the fan was full blast. I nice additional Ac cooler for emergency days like this could be a plus for Customer experience but over had a great time. 1 large beer and 1 Large frozen Wine was near $36 which is on the high side but you get to keep the plastic branded cup. The seating area Is a tad awkward cause you are chilling on mini wooden benches and while they are much cuter than picnic tables they just are not as comfy. Just throwing some real opinion out there. All said and done it’s a must stop. Check out the video of the music it’s fire 🔥

This place was really cool to check out. They had plenty of seating and even a live band while we were there. It's such a cool place. If you are nearby, stop by. They have plenty of draft beers and tons of wine to pick from. Great place, great service.

We love to come here and chill after a day of shopping and eating in Gruene. Great environment, and they frequently have good live music. There are not many non-alcoholic options, but their frozen drinks are really good. Also dog friendly is a plus.

Been here many times and had great experience but the young man at the counter today was the least helpful, no recommendations, just stares at you. He said they do not offer samples since COVID though I have been able to try wines here before buying a glass since COVID. When I asked about specific wines he admitted he had not tried them. When I’ve been here in the past, it has been excellent customer service and recommendations. The staff would at least ask what kind of wine you do like and make a recommendation based off of that.

Prince Solms Park, located near Hinman Island and the Comal River in New Braunfels, offers a versatile setting for various outdoor activities. Named after the city's founder, Prince Carl of Solms-Braunfels, this city-owned property provides entry and exit points for river activities as well as picnic areas and a playground. It is a popular spot for tubing, swimming, sunbathing, and family fun.
My girlfriend and I love this place. Great place to hop on the comal river, Frisbee golf, or play tennis/basketball. Parking in the summer is a tad outrageous and costly during the summer due to the influx of out of towners and tourists. I cannot complain too much though because when you have beautiful and fun things to see, people will come.

Parking prices are a bit steep. The river is fun to float, but the walk back to your car at the end is a bit long.

Great entrance to the river shoot in New Braunfels. No cans or bottles and your drinks have to be in a sealed cup, like a Stanley cup. Entrance fee is like $7

Went here on Saturday Oct 18, still a nice ride and good weather. Parking was free at Prince Solms Park, only paid parking from May 1 to Labor Day. I got there around 4pm and there was no one charging the $2 per person or the $7 to rent a tube, it was closed but open to enter the river, luckily I brought my own tube. It wasn’t crowded like in summer times. We exited at Garden St and it was a 50 min ride to get there, and it’s a 10 min walk to get to the park again. There’s deers around the neighborhood, so it’s a nice walk.

Dropped my yak in then paddled down to Dunlap. Was a perfect Tuesday afternoon!

$2 to tube on weekends over the summer. Free to put in during the weekday. You must pay to park there for the day(8am-7pm). Park has tennis courts and disc golf as well as tube chute rental $7 or tubing down the Comal river $2 weekends and free weekdays. You can put in to tube further up the river for free, if you bring your own tubes and don’t want to pay for parking. This requires a half mile walk, though just to put in. Tube from chute/Prince Solms Park to last free exit 1.5 hour float when river is flowing fast. Walk back to park isn’t bad but will take 20 minutes on shaded sidewalk. No shuttle from river exit to park where you left vehicle.

Nestled along the picturesque Guadalupe River in Texas Hill Country, the Gruene Historic District invites visitors to step back into a bygone era. This charming area, which has been gently resisting change since its establishment in 1872, is just a stone's throw from New Braunfels and offers an enchanting blend of history, culture, shopping, dining, and entertainment.
Has grown over the years! Many shops but parking has always been an issue. Bring water if walking thru the day. I liked the evening atmosphere. Wine tasting available at various wineries. Gristmill restaurant does not disappoint. Swimming/ tubing available.

Gruene Historic District is an absolute gem! This charming little town is full of character, with quaint shops, rich Texas history, and a laid-back vibe that makes for a perfect day trip. A highlight is Gruene Hall, the oldest dance hall in Texas — it’s not just historic, it’s legendary, having played a key role in launching George Strait’s career. There are plenty of great food options throughout the district, and we chose to dine at the Grist Mill Restaurant, which was lovely — delicious food with a beautiful setting. We also stumbled upon the cutest putt-putt course we’ve ever seen, adding a fun and unexpected twist to our visit. Whether you’re into music, history, food, or shopping, Gruene has something special to offer. Don’t miss this unique and vibrant spot — it’s truly a Texas treasure.

Gruene is a blend of historic charm and live music, where you will find Gruene Hall, which is Texas’s oldest continually operating dance hall. You can dance to live bands almost every day of the week with surprise unannounced guest performances, such as LeAnn Rimes, Garth Brooks, and George Strait. The 1996 movie Michael, starring John Travolta, features scenes filmed at Gruene Hall. Make sure to enjoy dinner and live music at The Gristmill restaurant. Its riverfront restaurant is situated in the ruins of an 1878 cotton gin, offering a unique dining experience with views of the Guadalupe River. It features indoor and outdoor dining, a multi-level layout, an indoor bar, a beer garden, and plenty of fan misters to keep you cool in the Texas heat. There are plenty of unique shops for everyone! Whether you want to design your own unique specialty cowgirl hat or buy your first pair of cowboy boots, to finding every little trinket, T-shirt, yard or home decor, you can do it all, and more in Gruene! Gruene has a lively atmosphere, especially on weekends, and with the scenic river views, there’s nothing that compares. Make sure to walk over to the Gruene Grove and enjoy live music on the patio and don’t forget to experience the secret speakeasy. If you prefer wine, then I strongly suggest checking out The Grapevine where you can enjoy a variety of exquisite wines & live music outside with plenty of shade. If you need a break from the heat (or if it’s a little chilly in December & January) you can go inside and sit and talk to the knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Beer garden
Krause's Cafe is a lively beer garden and taproom offering a wide selection of beers, wines, and margaritas on tap, along with American and German cuisine. Established in 1938 as a German diner, it has been restored and reinvigorated to become the city's most vibrant biergarten. The menu features German standards alongside Texas specialties like the Texas schnitzel and sausage plate.
A dining room, a beer hall, and a beer garden —take your pick. Their massive list of beers focuses on German brews but has features many Texas brews too. As the Bavarian custom, two sizes are available: liter or half liter mug. My Munchen Hofbrau Dunkel went well with delicious sausages, sauerkraut, and potatoes. Next time I may try one of the schnitzels. Seating is mostly in long rows of wooden tables, which is authentic for a beer hall. Waiters were courteous and attentive just sit down and they will come find you. The polka band was entertaining but rather strange with its accordion versions of Free Bird and Purple Rain. Prices were reasonable. Frankly the beer was priced to drink all night. I genuinely enjoyed it. It’s not Bavaria, but it expresses the German heritage of this Texas town.
Mark C — Google review
I love Krause's breakfast, so I decided to stop by for lunch today. My boyfriend ordered the sausage sampler appetizer for us to share. It was okay, but I probably won’t be ordering it again. There wasn’t enough sausage to really be called a sampler. While there were plenty of sauces and bread, I was expecting a little more variety in the sausages. I was also surprised to see saltine crackers on the plate; I expected a better cracker or pita chips—literally anything other than plain saltines. For my meal, I had the spinach salad with salmon and a bacon balsamic dressing, which was delicious. The portion was perfect; I felt full but not overly stuffed, and the salmon was cooked just right. My boyfriend ordered the steak sandwich and was very happy with his portion. He said the steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and, like me, he felt full but not too stuffed. Our waitress was amazing—friendly and helpful. I believe her name was April. She made sure we got our parking validated and checked on us several times. Our drinks were continuously refilled. I will definitely be stopping by for lunch again, although I’ll probably choose a different appetizer next time. My only wish is that they served breakfast all day.
Abigail C — Google review
They have such great atmosphere inside Krause’s Café. We sat out in the beer garden section to enjoy the live music, which was lots of fun. There were also two other dining areas, so plenty of seating for a multitude of people. They could easily handle large groups. FOr our meal, first, we ordered the large Bavarian pretzel and shared it. It comes with three mustard sauces to dip the pretzel into and they are all delicious especially the spicy one with a little horseradish in it. For our main course, we ordered the bratwurst pretzel platter which comes with sauerkraut, roasted brussels sprouts, a large pretzel with all the sauces to dip into and loads of bratwurst. It is easily enough to feed four hungry adults. Additionally, one person ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with fresh fruit, another ordered the biergarten salad, which comes with herb vinaigrette and we also ordered a spinach salad. Everything was so delicious that you really need to go there hungry to consume all of the food you are served. We would definitely go again!

Krause's in New Braunfels is a must-stop! This German beer garden offers a perfect blend of great food, refreshing drinks, and a lively atmosphere. We love coming to Krause’s Cafe for the huge beer selection and food! As an added bonus, they have a vegan option we love—the sausage plate with Beyond Brats. It’s an extra $4 but a delicious treat! We drive over an hour to come here and always bring out of town guests. In all the times we’ve visited, we have never been disappointed.

Tasty food. Cool atmosphere and too many beer options. Great for large groups, plenty of seating and a good sized food menu. Texas Schnitsel was a favorite. They probably have the best beer cheese that I've had
Ed F — Google review
I can't recommend this place enough! I've been only a handful of times and it is always fantastic. The atmosphere feels like you've taken a step into an Oktoberfest celebration, especially if you come on a weekend while there is live music in the patio area. Amazing beer selection and the staff are very knowledgeable in guiding you to the right beer if your unsure about trying something new. The food is always of high quality, and I haven't had anything off the menu that I didn't like. The parking can be a bit tight on the weekends so be aware of that, especially if you're coming later in the afternoon.

Nestled in the heart of Historic Downtown New Braunfels, New Braunfels Brewing Company is a charming, family-owned craft brewery that stands out for its unique focus on barrel-aged sour beers. This cozy taproom offers a welcoming atmosphere where beer enthusiasts can unwind and savor distinctive brews made with fresh local ingredients. With its laid-back vibe and dog-friendly policy, it's an ideal spot to relax with friends or meet fellow craft beer lovers.
This was a great little stop on our day out in New Braunfels. We were able to taste everything on tap, plus the bartender gave us samples of their beers that were in bottles. I enjoyed all the beers, especially the pickle sour and the Belgian Tripel. Definitely check this place out!

Sorry, only giving it a 3. Tiny little spot with very little seating. A lot of the seating is along 12" benches, facing the walls with uncomfortable metal chairs. On the positive side, the chairs do have backs... The bar might be 6'. They have a very small outdoor space, but not very inviting. The beer selection isn't very impressive. For those of us that don't drink beer, they offered me Jaramillo in bottles (nothing like drinking pure sugar) or some canned seltzer water. Not even enough space to put out water and cups. If you couldn't tell by my review, I probably won't be going back. I'll leave the few seats for the locals to enjoy.

It's really great beer! We drove here from Kerrville, and it was very worth the drive. The beer options were great and complex. There are plenty of options to fill any taste that you may have. The service was really good and the atmosphere was great. A really cool brewery, if you like solid micro brews this is a spot to check out.

It took me way to long to find my way in this brewery. Small taproom but very welcoming with amazing woodwork inside. Bartender had a big smile and couldn't have been more friendly. I would call most of the beers on the list intermediate to expert level, a sort of beer connoisseur style offering but most should be able to find something they like. I had the topic of hopricorn and it was delicious. Would recommend to anyone visiting downtown NB.
Jeff C — Google review
I wish my words could express just how great this place truly is. You can tell the passion for people and beer is prevalent with your first "hello" and sip of any of the craft brews. The variety offers something for everyone. Flights available to sample what they have on tap or have a full glass of what you know you'll like. Be sure to check out the Local Libation section for unbelievable tasting creations. We already can't wait to come back to continue to work our way through the menu and see what new creations they serve up. The beer speaks for itself and is offered in bottles and cans to take home and share with friends and family. What will keep us coming back more than anything is how evident the owner and their crew's passion is for making customers happy. I love how they try new things and look for ways to improve their already good beer. Clean establishment with AC inside or soak up some sum outside. Thank you for keeping the cold beer pouring and most of all, pouring out sunshine with your passion and smiles! Looking forward to all our future visits!

In New Braunfels for the weekend. Buddy said I should check th out. Stopped in after dinner. Place looks small on the outside, but it's got plenty of room. Michael was pouring tonight. I did a flight of beers. Missed the hazy (they were brewing a new batch) Michael was very knowledgeable about craft beer. Favorite pour of the night was a Pecan beer that is not on the menu. 3.8% alcohol, but packed with flavor. Definitely could sit in the hammock or lounge chair and drink it all day Light and crisp. I liked it, but certain times of the year, it seems to cost $20 and I don't know if I'd pay $20. That said, you can wade into the river and lots of people had their dog which I thought was cool. It was a fun place to hangout but not really to walk around.
Paula D — Google review
Go in the mornings. Hopefully you have a parking pass 😬 I am able to walk over from my house in about 10 minutes... the perks of being a local. But this is a wonderful place to be when there's not many people around. The sun casts shadows through the tall cypress flanking the riverbank, and it feels like you're in another country. The grassy expanse in the center of the park is a favorite for dogs and families throwing a ball or a Frisbee. There really are such a variety of spaces here in this little park: river, playground, pavilion, walking trail (my favorite), picnic-friendly stretches, kayak and tube put-ins. You can easily spend most of the day here. It does get insanely busy the later you go, especially on Summer weekends. But go in the mornings. Go on a weekday. Go in the Fall. Take a lot of pictures. You will fall in love with the park.

Excellent Park with a huge field and access to the Guadalupe River. It is limited on parking that is near the water, so if you don't have mobility issues please unload and then park your car in the further away lot. Think about others. Also, if you're planning on hanging out in the water, please make sure all of your items are close together. As people who are entering or unloading from the water need to have a clear path to exit. Accidentally stepping on your phone that's tucked into a route isn't ideal for anybody.

We went in a Friday morning so the park was uncrowded with plenty if parking. The riverside was clean and easy to get into the water. Plenty of shade to sit in. The bothersome was clean and not boiling hot! It was fun and well worth the trip! Plenty of trash cans conveniently loacated.

The Gruene General Store, established by Henry Gruene to cater to sharecroppers, has been a staple since 1878. Reopened in 1989, it offers an array of Texas-made products including souvenirs, gourmet coffees, and homemade fudge at its soda fountain. The store's antique fixtures and wooden floor patched with license plates add to its old-world charm.
What an awesome store. The young man behind the counter explained the difference in the coffee's. He took our orders and we went shopping. When the coffee's were finished we were allowed to finish shopping before we paid. Found some items to take home. So many Christmas decorations. We will be back.

The Gruene General Store is fabulous filled with wonderful gourmet food. Fantastic selection of Coffee, Chocolate, Ice Cream. Fudge, old fashioned candies. You don't know where to look first such an amazing store filled with unique gifts. The Customer Service was wonderful very helpful and friendly.

Cute shop with lots of old fashioned candy and other treats. They have plenty of nostalgia inducing toys and gifts. It’s a great place to buy stocking stuffers for seniors and little kids. Also, I’m sure you will find a good variety of gag gifts as well. When it’s cold outside and you want something warm to drink, step right on in here. They have a delicious hot chocolate! A warm days you can grab a scoop of ice cream. A great place to shop. As with most tourist souvenir shops, it’s small and crowded so be patient. The employees are always kind.

My wife loved it here. This is one of the few times this intersection is ever empty, and there is a great old-style saloon restaurant right across the street after you buy your t-shirts.

One of my favorite places to come on the weekends with my family! Walking around Gruene and stopping by to look around the store, getting a souvenir, or a quick snack! Love this place, definitely has a Gruene charm to it!

A lady that worked there was very rude to my partner and I while we were going through the rocks. She said we were making a mess. We were just looking through all of them for cool rocks. We were gonna put them all back, and we were gonna buy a bunch. Instead, we didn't buy any, and we left the rocks sitting around. Maybe don't accuse people for making a mess because how else are we suppose to go through all of the rocks?

Spass Walking Tours of New Braunfels offers a delightful way to explore the rich tapestry of this charming Texas town. With a variety of tours, you can dive into the vibrant art scene on the Downtown Art Murals Tour, where stunning murals come alive with their fascinating stories. Alternatively, immerse yourself in local history on the Historic Downtown Tour, which showcases significant landmarks and intriguing tales from yesteryears.
I am a New Braunfels local who was in charge of throwing a party for 100 local people. We wanted to do a tour of downtown New Braunfels in the evening. It was a tall order being such a large group and that most of the group knew New Braunfels inside and out. I can only say that everyone loved it! They raved about her knowledge of esoteric New Braunfels history, her liberal clearance to tour closed-to-the-public buildings, and her ability to interest the crowd. I would highly recommend her and her sometimes-assistant Tracy.

Muck & Fuss Craft Beer and Burgers is a locally owned restaurant located in the downtown district, offering a stylish and casual dining experience. The establishment features an industrial-style setting with indoor and outdoor patio seating, including a dog-friendly Biergarten.
We’ve been to Muck and Fuss twice this summer, visiting from out of town. The food is delicious! The flavors and quality are on point! On this visit we ordered two burgers (Spicy Juicy Lucy and Street Cred), Caesar salads, pimento Mac n cheese, and a kids meal chicken strips with Mac n cheese. Our waiter John was super sweet and attentive! I look forward to visiting again in the near future!

We have been trying for years to get into Muck and Fuss when we are on vacation, but the place is so good there is always a line out the door. 1st sign of an amazing place. We finally made it in and let me tell you, it was so worth the wait. Our server, Ashley, was absolutely fantastic on recommendations for both beers on tap, too many to choose from, to the best things to eat. All I can say is we walked away full and already talking about the next time we are down in NB to hit them up again. Great place!!!

A Delightful Lunch Date at Muck & Fuss! From the moment my husband and I walked in, we felt genuinely welcomed. Each staff member greeted us warmly at the entrance, and we were promptly seatet. A great first impression. Our server was knowledgeable and confident, recommending some of the most popular menu highlights; and she did not disappoint. She suggested the Jalapeño Fritters, which were uniquely flavorful and delightful. I also had two Orangytangs (yes, two! Because they were that good!), made with that nostalgic Tang juice we all grew up with. For our main course, we ordered the Spicy Lucy Juicy and the blackened Fish Tacos. The burger was juicy and delicious, with a hint of heat; the jalapeño flavor came through in the cheese sauce, though it wasn’t as fiery as I’d hoped. The Fish Tacos were succulent and full of flavor. The upgraded rosemary fries served alongside were crispy, perfectly seasoned, and a lovely twist on standard fries. For dessert, we treated ourselves to the Reese’s cheesecake, which arrived beautifully plated. It struck a perfect balance of rich, but not overly sweet. Everything was so good that we didn’t need to bring any home (a rare feat in our household). One thing that really impressed me was the diversity and creativity of their menu. They offer so many unique options that I’m already looking forward to coming back and exploring more. A few extra touches made the experience exceptional: - The restaurant is dog friendly on the patio, complete with a small dog menu (how cute!). - Their cocktails and beer selection is very impressive, and I’m already dreaming about trying one of their boozy shakes next time. - We were checked on multiple times: throughout the meal, warm smiles and genuine care made us feel like valued guests. As for the interior: the space is beautifully designed with a modern/rustic vibe. A majestic buffalo head hangs over the entrance. Large windows flood the dining area with natural light, and the decor blends industrial touches and cozy elements to create a welcoming ambiance. All in all, our lunch date at Muck & Fuss exceeded expectations. If you’re in the area and haven’t tried it yet, GO! And do me a favor: order the Orangytang! 🦧🧡 Thank you for a lovely meal and experience, we'll be back soon!

We came to Muck & Fuss on a Sunday night as a meeting point with family between San Antonio and San Marcos. We were seated right away, and the staff were very friendly. The restaurant seems very busy on weekends, so we did need to flag down our server for water and orders, but she was otherwise attentive, and she was gracious in letting us stay until closing to catch up with family. There is ample indoor and outdoor seating, and the space is very family- and pet-friendly. We each ordered a burger, I got their classic cheeseburger with Asian slaw, and we all split the truffle fries. Everything was so flavorful and satisfying. My cousins enjoyed the cocktail flight as well. Such a gem in this neighborhood, and we're so glad we found it.
Sammi — Google review
My husband and I stopped here on our way home from a weekend in the Fredericksburg and San Antonio area, and wow—this little burger spot was exactly what we needed after a long day of traveling and cave-touring. Both burgers were incredibly juicy and full of flavor. One came stacked with melted cheese, tangy pickles, and crisp red onions—the kind of bite where the juices hit the bun just right. The other was smothered in caramelized onions and oozy melted cheese, so savory and rich that every bite felt like comfort food at its finest. The sides didn’t disappoint either. The Caesar salad was fresh with crunchy croutons, and the fries were hot, crisp, and perfectly seasoned. Such a fun, relaxed place with great burger options and a solid beer selection if you’re in the mood. Honestly, it was one of those unexpected stops that totally hits the spot and makes the drive home even better. We’d definitely stop again! 🍔✨

Do yourself a favor… eat at Muck & Fuss. I had the Street Cred burger with Truffle fries (I was only able to eat about 4 bites before I was stuffed) and My husband had the Scapegoat. We also shared the Fried Green Tomatos and the Jalapeno Cheese Fritters (because we couldn’t decide). Everything we had was delicious, including the drink flight! As if the great food wasn’t enough, Shelby, our server, was excellent! My husband and I had already discussed the menu and shortly after she gave recommendations. Funny enough, her recommendations were exactly the items we were looking at. Thank you Shelby. We will be back to visit, hopefully sooner than later.

Omgoodness, this place was awesome!!!, firstly you might have to park in the next parking spaces- this place was super busy but they had the staff to handle to customers!!!! Great job!! I specifically asked our waitress name so I could mention her by name (we forgot it 🙃) sorry, because she was amazing & made our experience even better!!! The food was pretty good & plenty of it. We didn't really care for the onion rings (need seasonings in the batter for us) but this place still gets 5 stars from us. Our burgers were very good!!

OMG 😱, first time eating here, I was so blown away by the amount of food. That food was meant for giants. When I tell you my stomach was satisfied by only eating the fried mushrooms which were only appetizers not the main course you wouldn't believe it. I've never had fried mushrooms and that was my first experience. Oh my goodness those fried mushrooms were WOW fiiiiiiirrrreee. I was just amazed. I could go on and on overall food is DELICIOUS 😋

We were in New Braunfels to meet some friends and stopped by Freiheit for some beverages, and entertainment. We were checked on by a server a few times, but opted to go inside and review the beer selections and order. Note, bathrooms are also in this building. We selected a table between the main building and the food truck to enjoy the breeze, as it was a bit toasty in Texas today (5/24/25) with temps hitting 99-100 degrees. We did not sample, and food and thus I cannot comment on this, and defaulted to giving 3 stars, or neutral. As I noted, we were frequently checked on, so I felt service was good. There was a live band, that played most country and western, and Latin cumbia songs. They did a good job of trying to engage the audience. Overall, enjoyed ourselves. I hope that if you decide to visit this restaurant, that your experience is as good or better than mine.

Passed by this place numerous times finally stopped in last night with some friends. We had the chicken Cesar wrap , curly fries, onion rings , and the country fried steak. Onion rings were like eating more over fried batter than onions. Curly fries were pretty good The country fried steak also like the onion rings over battered and under seasoned My friends said their chicken Cesar wrap was just ok Love the old town atmosphere and our server I think her name was Kelly was sweet and helpful. I'm gonna come back to give their burgers a try. Hopefully it'll be better than the country fried steak.

Great wine tasting lounge! Great wine! Good food and chocolate! Excellent separate little lounge areas! My only complaint is that my friends and I were not served napkins or utensils with our appetizers. We had to go find our server in the back to ask for them. She gave us utensils but only gave us one tiny beverage napkin each for a napkin. Full size napkins and utensils should be provided for all food service. It's the difference between a 3 or 4 star review and a five star review.

Families can enjoy the free splash pad and playgrounds while taking in the scenic views from the 62-acre hilltop park.
They did a wonderful job with this park! Perfectly located on the east side of New Braunfels, with an elevated view of the city, and the hill country in the background. Great facilities, clean bathrooms, splash area for the kids, lots of shade. Large, paved walkways and trails. And beautifully landscaped with indigenous plant and tree species in abundance! Multiple entrances. There is also a nature center located within the park. All of this built around a large water tank/pond. I used to fish this tank when I was young, long before it was transformed into this nice oasis on the edge of town.

A great park. There are nature trails, numerous pavilions that people can rent, a couple of playgrounds for kids of different ages and abilities, swings, and a splash pad. Beautiful trees and nature features. With numerous sidewalks, this place is ver accessible for people using wheelchairs. It might be harder for someone who walks to get around just because of the hills. Very pet friendly and a beautiful place to run, walk, or play.

I visited this lovely well kept park on Thursday, and enjoyed it so much! There are playscapes, pavilions, and splash pads in a part of the park, but I wanted to visit the two ponds. The park is open daily from 6 AM to 12 AM. It would be best to check with the office, should that schedule change. There are plenty of mature trees, and I noticed new trees have also been planted. Bluebonnets and other wildflowers are starting to bloom. It has a total of 2 miles of running and walking trails which were being used while I was there. There are also public bathrooms. The Staff were friendly, as well as other people in the park. I will definitely visit again!

Faust Brewing Company, located in downtown New Braunfels, is deeply rooted in the town's German heritage. Initially part of the historic Faust Hotel, the brewery expanded to include a separate brewpub just a block away. Named after Walter Faust Sr., who led the hotel's development, this establishment offers a wide range of authentic German-style brews and pale ales. The brewery also features a full-service restaurant with diverse food options.
All I can say is WOW! We just moved to the area and stumbled upon this place because it was a down the block from the convention center. My husband and I both ordered the Bratwurst Burger and it was DELICIOUS. The patty had a nice smoked flavor and the sauerkraut was very good (I don’t like sauerkraut) and mild. The fries had a good seasoning on them. The beers were good, a breeze was blowing and my daughter was super happy playing with the rocks. The service was great too. We will be back for sure! They have live bands during happy hour!

I came to this Brewing Company recently with my fiancé and his friends and had a really great time. I had never heard of this place before one of his buddies recommended it and we’re glad that he did. The outdoor seating is shaded and relaxed which was nice in this Texas heat. I tried their pilsner which was crisp and refreshing, and I also ordered the bratwurst burger that another reviewer had mentioned, and it was a great choice because it was hearty and flavorful. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the prices were pretty reasonable too, with most beers around $6 and the food in the $10 to $15 range, which felt fair for the quality. The only part I did not enjoy was the parking, since it was tough to find a spot when it was busy, but once I was settled inside I had a great experience.

Just had an engagement party here, and Royce and company were extremely accommodating, professional and friendly. My fiancee and I and 17 family members used their party room, which is in a separate building from the main bar and brewery. It was perfect, well lit, clean and the AC was nice and cool on a 100 degree Texas day. The food and beverage were great. Royce and company went out of their way to provide stellar and timely service, constantly checking on us well after we'd been served. We really felt spoiled. By the way, Royce is the manager and bartender. Very hard working. He alone made us want to come back soon. The courtyard and main building are beautifully laid out. There is a nice stage area where live music is performed. The food and drink menus offer a nice variety. I recommend the Reuben and honey wheat beer. She had the Greek salad and a margarita which were excellent choices as well. Many thanks to Faust Brewing and Royce Bailey for a wonderful time. Royce even took our group pics and chatted with us afterwards, many times inviting us to come back. They're open til midnight on weekends. The atmosphere is very laid back and welcoming. We will definitely be returning soon. Again, many thanks to Royce and staff!

Great service and love the shady seating outside. Interior has seating as well, just a bit limited. Full menu for food, beers obviously, and mixed drinks and wine as well. Outside is pet friendly. Visitors can expect to find rare and hard-to-source art prints, framed artwork, and unique gifts. The owners are known for their helpfulness and willingness to answer questions.
This place is legit! I own 2 signed and framed Shepard Fairey prints because of Comal County Rebels. They have been able to source some of the hardest and rarest art prints out there. I'm very impressed with the selection of framed artwork and cool gear for gifts. This spot is not your typical New Braunfels gift shop - or anywhere is South TX.

Landa Falls in New Braunfels is a popular spot for tubing on the scenic Comal River. With a 2.5-mile stretch, it offers the longest floating area on the river. Visitors can rent tubes and coolers and take advantage of a return-shuttle service. Along the way, there are rope swings and riverbanks for those who want to add some extra fun to their float.
Had an amazing time with Landa Falls! Our instructor, Stacey, was top-notch—helpful, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone was set up for a great experience. The equipment is state-of-the-art and super easy to use and maneuver, even for a first-timer like me. The river was refreshing, and easy to navigate, making it a truly enjoyable outing. The company’s focus on safety was evident, and it made the whole experience that much better. Highly recommend Landa Falls if you’re looking for a fun and well-organized paddleboarding adventure!
Lorna O — Google review
Landa Falls did not disappoint! We drove down from Austin. Easy peasy. We got in the water right after 1p we did the long tubing session so we were able to go through the fun chutes. A few shallow spots but kept moving right along and plenty of spots to jump out for a cool down. Ended right before 6. You can bring music and coolers. You can go for a shorter ride. So much fun and will do it again!
Becca — Google review
Landa Tubes has been our go-to for several years! They offer the longest float, starting right at the peak of the lake. The tubes are always clean, fully inflated, and even come with cup holders. At the end of the float, they provide a convenient shuttle back. The staff is always friendly and upbeat, and they even have barcodes set up for easy tipping. Highly recommend!
Z B — Google review
We originally came to float with a different company and drove around looking for parking and gave up and came across Landa. The experience was good from start to finish. Parking was NO hassle. Parked on site, someone was monitoring the lot the whole time. The tubes were comfortable and many different options from mesh bottom, solid bottom or no bottom. Shuttle was quick. No complaints. We’ll definitely use them again.

We love Landa Falls! I have been going to Landa Falls for the longest float on the river (usually about 3-4 hours) for the past three years. We love it! It’s by far the easiest way to get into the river and in your tube (vs a ladder or a concrete slab and having to hope you land in your tube and it doesn’t fly out from under you) - you can stand in the shallow water next to the steps, get all your tubes connected and situated, before you hop in and float away. Their space to get in the water is also huge so multiple groups can get in at the same time. This year, the teen staff were all very efficient and organized - they had their system set up well after you pay your admission ($25 each + tax - ended up being about $64 for my friend and I, but be warned, NO CASH!!) (step 1) drop your keys 2) get your first wristband 3) get your second wristband) all laid out in the windows. The booth where you pay your tickets and sign your waivers also sell phone bags and cords for your sunglasses but I didn’t get those. We didn’t buy our tickets in advance since we got there early. This was honestly the first year I heard you could buy in advance. Their bathrooms are a little rough but it’s honestly what I expect from a destination space next to a body of water, lol. The shuttle bus ride back was great. It’s been a slow season so it was just my friend and I on the shuttle but Bruce, our driver, was very friendly! He had the windows open but it was still just a little stuffy in there, so if they can get AC that would be lovely. Lastly, parking is GREAT especially if you get there early when they open - the lot is right across the street and FREE!! We got there around 10:30 this year and still got a spot within the first couple of rows.

This was our first time to the River and Landa Falls made this trip easy with a really long float to enjoy. They were able to blow up our tubes, and gave us a bag of ice for our cooler. Overall amazing place for a great price. Truly Recommend!
Dinah R — Google review
The longest float on the Comal River starts here. Very nice folks. Not crowded on this Monday morning. They will pick you up at the end and return you to the beginning. The water is very low and it takes about 4.5 hours to get to the Garden Street Bridge where you can get out. If you go to Union St. Bridge which is last get out, it takes between 5 and 6 hours. Bring sunscreen, water and a way to secure your items when you go through the Chutes. The first one is very fast and my husband lost his glasses and hat. I found the glasses as I had a floating lanyard on them. Never found the hat. Recommend floats on your hats too. Will come back when water is higher.

Really cool and unique store to walk through and browse. There are so many different antiques from clothing, to fishing lures and rods, to military memorabilia, jewelry, comics, sports memorabilia, and so much more. If you're in gruene this is a must to stop by and take a look. The staff are friendly and if you have questions you can ask. The store is a little packed with antique fans. This place is a great place to go and I go every time I go to gruene.

Lots of vintage and antique items in a number of categories at reasonable prices. Lots of old tin signs, booklets, and other bits that would make great additions for a "man cave." Wide range of old books and vinyl records. The store itself is fun to check out, given its history.

Water 2 Wine is a micro-winery located in historic downtown New Braunfels, Texas. They blend award-winning wines and everything is made on-site, from the wine to the packaging! Stop by today for a taste of some of the best Texas has to offer.
Water 2 Wine is my unofficial office, therapy lounge, social club, and sometimes a wine-fueled escape from the chaos of adulting. I’ve been going here for years, and if it ever closes, I will consider laying on the doorstep and crying. The owners, Tre & Angel are the sweetest (sometimes sassy *cough cough* Tre *cough cough*) owners ever. They're extremely knowledgeable about wine and make this picky girls heart and tastebuds happy. They have an incredible staff with Johnny (who's won best bartender in NB for like a lot of years, don't ask me how many, I can't keep up, might be convinced he's bribing the town with sass and charcuterie boards), Ameilee (the queen of arts and crafts and the designer behind their door of events each month), and Lexi (who makes it a point to remember anyone and everyone by name and their wine of choice; seriously the second time I ever met her she greeted me like besties and I live for that energy). The atmosphere is laid back and welcoming which makes it a great spot for a girls outing, date night, or remote work that’s mostly just answering one email and then reward-sipping for your efforts. It will forever be this wino's fav spot to sip, yap, and pop a squat. 11/10 would recommend. No notes. Just go.
McKenna A — Google review
The people here was so nice. The wine was okay. If you like sweet wines, my mother in law got the sweet wine flight for $15 and really liked it. I had the red wine flight and it was okay. We got the charcuterie board which was good but maybe a bit overpriced at $25 for what we got.
Amanda A — Google review
Love this place.. After a long walk in the park, it is the best place to hang out and enjoy some good local Texas wine. You should check out their calendar because they do have some live music once in a while. Service has always been excellent and the employees are very educated on the current wines. They have finger foods to purchase which is perfect with your bottle of wine. If you can't figure out what you want, I would say. Start with a wine tasting.

This place is the best winery in New Braunfels. Johnny is the best! Three tasting s before you commit to a wine. Huge selection. Snacks also provided. Chill atmosphere. Excellent service. Love this place.

I searched for vineyards in New Braunfels and saw that Water 2 Wine had 4.9 stars. I can certainly understand why! I'm very glad that we chose to stop in. They make all of their wines in-house with juices from all over the world. That's pretty impressive. But what was even more impressive was that we both loved every one that we tried. We tried the Red Flight and the New Braunfels Flight, on top of various other samples. We went from going to get 2 bottles to leaving with 6. We were greeted/served by 2 very nice and knowledgeable waitresses. But we were also greeted by both of the owners, Angel and Trey. They were both incredible people! I'm very glad that we stopped in. The only issue is that they're so far away from where we live.

We LOVE Water2Wine! Johnny and Brandy are the absolute best! My family and I have made several batches of wine, and we always go back for more. Not only does the wine taste amazing, but we also love that there are no Sulfites (which means no hangover!) Johnny always remembers what we all like (even better than we do sometimes) and introduces new wines to us that he knows we will love. Highly recommended!!!

I had no idea that the New Braunfels area is blessed with so many talented artists. The gallery showcases a large variety of artists and their mediums, making it a wonderful place to visit.

Terrible customer focus! Parked in back in their designated space “towing enforced”. My husband entered through back door which was ajar. Their greeting was “How’d you get in here?” He talked to 2 employees while there, looking for a particular artist’s work .SAME employees put a towing notice on our car because he unknowingly “didn’t sign in” and neither would admit to remembering him!!! Within 15 minutes??? Seriously people, step up your customer focus. Greet customers cordially, don’t bug them about not registering, and maybe remember them for a couple minutes at least! There are competitors that know this.

The Panther Canyon Nature Trail is a great hiking area with a peaceful and serene atmosphere. The trail is easy to walk, with only a small amount of elevation change, making it perfect for most people. The trail also has beautiful scenery including ancient pecan trees and running water. Kids will love the cool 'nature bath top' where they can jump around and play.
Easily my favorite part of Landa Park. It's so serene here. There's much to do for the whole family, including picnic areas, walking trails, several playgrounds, natural wading pools, and gazebos. There's also a train that takes you thru the park but be sure to check out the times and days of operation online before heading there. It's quite fun. There's so many beautiful deer that come down and hang out at the park. You'll also see all kinds of ducks, birds and squirrels.

🌿 Panther Canyon Nature Trail – A Local Treasure in New Braunfels 🥾🌄 Panther Canyon is one of New Braunfels' best-kept secrets for outdoor lovers! The trail offers a peaceful escape into nature with varied terrain that’s perfect for all skill levels. Whether you're up for a light stroll or a more challenging hike, there's something for everyone here. Families will love it—great for kids, with plenty of spots to stop, explore, and enjoy the scenery. The trail is shaded in many areas, and the views of the canyon and natural landscape are beautiful year-round. It’s well-maintained, easy to find, and a perfect spot to recharge, get some fresh air, or introduce little ones to the joy of hiking. Highly recommend for a weekend walk, a picnic break, or a quiet moment in nature. 🦋🌳
Amber F — Google review
Here's the thing. I love a good trail, but this is not a well manicured trail. Lots of large unstable rocks made me worried I was going to twist an ankle on the regular. If it were just a bit more comfortable to walk, i would recommend it to everyone. It feels like someone blew up a quary rock and dumped it on this trail.
Steve M — Google review
At the start you have two paths options. The easy trail is Canyon trail. The second option is Rim trail, this path is more challenging and not recommended if you don’t have proper hiking shoes and experience. This trail has more of an incline and has a steep drop off to one side, so one needs to be very careful. Also note this trail can be slippery and muddy after rain. Both paths have scenic views and are a joy to traverse. You will see plenty of lizards, squirrels, songbirds, and an occasional rat snake. If you enjoy the outdoors you will be happy hiking the trails here. Do not attempt during flooding conditions as the water has been known to wash out the trail.
Reuben R — Google review
Great place to hike walk bike spend time with your family have a picnic. Landon Park is attached to this nature Trail wonderful streams great places to take pictures ride the train in the summer you can go to the pool, and there are playgrounds for every age.

I finally made it out to this trail this weekend. Very nice trail that’s located in a city but you don’t feel like you are.

Love Landa Park and its trails. We recorded so many beautiful areas of the park, and walked from fishing pier to train tracks and around the lake to pavilions and more trails and play areas for the children. Lots of happy dog walkers and joggers, people sitting and enjoying nature and the colorful ducks, birds, and squirrels also playing on the ground, in the water and in the trees. Absolutely beautiful on that cool day in the park. Thank you Parks and Recreation, your care is clearly evident!

I was a camper here in the late 90’s and now have a son that attends camp here. This place is deeply rooted in tradition, technique, and etiquette. “Fossil” Phill is still running this camp, on his 43rd year now. There are second and even third generation campers here, keeping the love for the game rock solid.
Jennifer V — Google review
I recently attended a retreat here. Although it is primarily a tennis ranch with lessons, courts, and training camps, groups holding retreats are also welcome. The property is very old but clean with many lodging options. Some updates would be nice especially in the condos. The food in the dining hall is super healthy and delicious and includes lots of fruits, vegetables, dairy and dairy free milk options. There are deer roaming on the property. I think there is a ropes course also which I did not try. The conference center is a nice space for group gatherings. Overall, it feels like a historical place, and the service is wonderful also.
Hiba M — Google review
We dropped our son Phoenix off for a week at tennis camp and he had and absolute blast. They really helped with his game but it provided him a fun camp experience. He definitely wants to make it a annual experience. I just wish we would have found it sooner. Also shot out to the counselors for being some cool dudes.

What an amazing place! We came for the week-long clinic. I am a 3.5 and my wife a 3.0. We both learned sooo much. Every pro was kind, knowledgeable, and energetic. Our group only had 4 in it, which surprised us. But we ended up loving that. The food was excellent with options for vegetarians. The spa/pool had no closing hours. Water, lemonade and iced tea is available all day. There is a full bar. Downtown New Braunfels is 8 minutes away with good nightlife (if you still have energy after tennis lol). We met great people and came away with many new friends. Shout out to Tuna and Adrian, 2 phenomenal pros that made this a 5 star experience. We hope to be back again soon!
