Wailea Beach is a stunning public beach known for its sandy shores and a variety of activities such as sunbathing, swimming, and snorkeling. The area is surrounded by luxurious resorts, restaurants, and a vibrant atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy the sight of frothy white waves along the crescent-shaped coves while indulging in fruity cocktails and tropical shave-ice flavors.
Gorgeous beach! Great for swimming more family friendly waters. Has a parking lot with restrooms, washing station and is a short walk to the beach. It's very popular so there is lots of people especially since it's in the resorty area.

Beautiful beach with an amazing view! There is plenty of free parking nearby with breathtaking views. This is a must visit when you are in Maui.
Philipp B — Google review
Such a great beach. Wasn’t too crowded. Soft sand in and out of the water. Little lava fields at both ends that attract fish and turtles for snorkeling. The waves are flat and great for swimming, not so good for anything else. Very calming and relaxing and peaceful. No shade so bring your own.
TheDoug801 — Google review
If you’re visiting Maui, make sure to stop by Polo Beach, - Wailea Beach located right next to the Fairmont Kea Lani. It’s a beautiful, calm spot perfect for swimming, sunbathing, or simply soaking in the island serenity. The soft golden sand, gentle waves, and laid-back atmosphere make it a true Maui gem. And remember — all beaches in Hawaii are open to the public, so everyone can enjoy this little piece of paradise. During our visit, we even saw whales passing by in the distance — an unforgettable sight! Stay for the sunset, and you’ll understand why Polo Beach is one of Wailea’s best-kept secrets.
William J — Google review
Beautiful! Absolutely beautiful. This was our favorite part of our stay. My son played in the waves for hours. We had to pull him away each time. The waves can really get wild, so be careful and keep an eye on little ones, no lifeguard here. We went in August and it was quite hot, hitting 90s each day and the sun is intense. Be prepared with preferably some shade to take a break and sunscreen, of course.
Ron S — Google review
What can we say it an island surrounded by the ocean . Great place we snorkel for hours.
Mattress A — Google review
We love Wailea Beach. This has to be the most beautiful beach on Maui. The sand is truly like sugar, so soft.
Andrew E — Google review
Probably my favourite beach on the island for enjoying the sun and playing in the water. The sand is soft and fine, there's little or no rocks, and the wave action is enough to be fun to play in if you want without being too beat up, or you can choose the calmer area too. Big bonus is the beautiful sunsets from this location. The parking is good, and there's a bathroom and shower to wash off when you're done.

Polo Beach is a picturesque crescent with fine sand, offering amenities like restrooms, showers, and parking. It's known for its shallow reefs with small sea caves where turtles like to hang out and rest. The beach extends from the Andaz at the northern points to the Fairmont Kealani in the south.
Nice sand beach in Wailea area next to several hotels, and condos. There is a large parking spaces with a paved concrete walkway from the parking lot and connected to a beach walkway runs along the seashore. The beach walkway is pretty long starting around Polo Beach runs North to Mokapu Beach and snakes along sides of hotels, condos.

Polo Beach was similar to Slaughterhouse Beach! The waves were active and perfect! Slaughterhouse wins out because of the crystal clear waters!
Quiana M — Google review
Very nice beach to take a dip in the water or a walk on the beach
Kawika F — Google review
Great beach with beautiful views. Very clean and sand is soft. Showers and restrooms close to parking and sand. Will visit every chance we have. Family friendly. Saw a couple of sea turtles, which was awesome.
Dorian I — Google review
This beach is small but a lot of fun. Beach has the perfect size of waves for the family. They have bathrooms and a showers. I only saw one picnic table next to the showers. Look for the sign beach access and they have free parking. Have fun peeps.
Armando B — Google review
We went 2 different days and the waves day 1 were great for 10 and 12 year old to boogie board. Last day we went waves were much bigger but so much fun. Clean bathrooms and showers.

Remember Polo beach! It is between polo club resort and fairmont resort. There are restroom, shower, and plenty of parking. But it is not well know. Small sand beach but luxurious look and beautiful. Highly recommend!
Douglas S — Google review
What a wonderful beach, it isn't as large as other beaches, there is nice white sands, medium waves, black rocks jetting out, palm trees are all around. There are public washrooms, a couple of picnic tables, a wash area to shower off afterward. Great place to have photos done too ;)

Restaurant
Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman in Wailea, Maui is a farm-to-table restaurant and bar that offers Hawaiian cuisine, beer, and cocktails in a laid-back setting. It's a hit with both tourists and locals, especially the Whalers Village location which is always bustling. The signature Monkeypod Mai Tai made with two types of rum, lime, macadamia nut orgeat, orange curacao, and honey-lilikoi foam is not to be missed.
We had a great experience here recently. The place was busy, but even as a party of 6 we were seated quickly. Most of us indulged in their famous Mai Tais, delicious. The gluten-free options are limited, but our server was knowledgeable about gluten and said the kitchen could support a variety of options. We got the roast chicken wings and fish tacos. Both were very good. While we didn't indulge in cream pie for dessert, our gluten eating friends had slices of the banana and strawberry cream pies. They said they were delicious.
Chris B — Google review
We dined here on our honeymoon and we loved the experience! The ambiance of the restaurant was really fun and it was cool to see all the various cocktails and things on the menu. We got truffle fries and some type of ravioli to start… loved the fries but would not recommend the ravioli. It was a weird texture and overpoweringly cheesy. The drinks and margaritas pizza were great, too! We came for happy hour and our waiter was great! We did feel a little forgotten about at the end of our meal, but it was starting to pick up a ton by that time as it transitioned to dinner time.
Danielle S — Google review
A beautiful restaurant with delicious locally themed dishes and a staff that is efficient, friendly, and attentive. The restaurant is comfortably decorated in a modern tropical theme. Tables and booths are available and are spaced so that you're not on top of other visitors. A large bar offers comfortable counter service. Tables are also available on an outside patio. We have never needed to make reservations. However, during busier times of the year and for large groups it would probably be smart to make arrangements. A free parking lot is available adjacent to the restaurant.
Roy A — Google review
My husband and I were in Maui last week for our honeymoon and we came to Monkeypod twice during our stay. The first night I got the famous mai tai and it was delicious. I’m not even really a fan of sour/sweet cocktails, but the foam on this one really made it special and more decadent. We tried several items, but we especially loved the sashimi tacos, beef bulgogi tacos, and the gyoza. All were exceptional! If we are ever back in Maui we will definitely come back again!
Kelsey P — Google review
Overall a good experience. The major negative was the kitchen service fee. Is that your credit card fee? Enforced kitchen staff tip? What gives? At these prices, that's just a money grab. Shame on you. Anyway, kiddo had fish & chips. He's not discerning and ate it all. Husband had the chicken. No complaints but nothing spectacular. I had the mahi mahi. It was good but not great. Fancy Mai Tai was very good but I have now had a better one at another restaurant in town. Service was great. So that matched the prices. It was okay but you can get the same food and drinks elsewhere for less.
Ewa C — Google review
Great foodie spot in Maui for anyone wanting a solid, flavor packed meal! I had many fiends recommend trying Monkeypod on top of the local reputation this place carries. I highly encourage everyone to make a reservation as this place gets booked up very quickly, even on a weekday. For those without a reservation, I heard the hostess tell someone it would be over an hour before getting seated. (Just a heads up!) The food was very good, overall! The entrees in particular. I had the bulgogi beef tacos and my partner ordered the gnocchi. Both were exceptional! The tacos were drizzled in a chile aioli, a fresh chile, and some crunchy veg. Truly one of the best tacos I’ve had in a really long time. At first I thought the dish was small for the price, but they’re packed and I left very full. My mouth still waters thinking about this meal! My partner who orders the gnocchi feels the same way. His dish was rich, filling, and balanced by the addition of veg. He said to me “oh, so this is how gnocchi are supposed to taste!” Once you’ve had these light, fluffy pillows you can’t go back to the rubbery version most restaurants serve. My partner also remarked he enjoyed this dish so much he’d be hard pressed to order or try anything else! However, we both felt the same about the tortilla soup - it was underwhelming. It was too spicy and not balanced by anything. It wasn’t super hot when severed and I’d not order it again. Given how great the entrees were this appetizer should be reconsidered or removed from the menu. The atmosphere is laid back, feels casual, and very loud. The evening we dined inside it was packed and I could barely hear my partner talk. If this bothers you then you walk may want to ask about outdoor dining. Also, due to how busy the night was, the staff tried turning tables over very quickly which lead to small missteps in service. For example, the guys busing the tables wiped food onto the seats and left it there for the next diner to clean or possibly sit on. On a brighter note, when I used the restroom I did witness a staff member wash their hands for a full minute and avoid touching the door handle upon exit! 🎉👏 Love seeing good hygiene practices! The service was great the entire evening. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, described the dishes in great detail, which was very helpful in making our menu selections. Overall, I’d highly recommend making a reservation and making Monkeypod part of your Maui visit! It was easily one of my favorite meals during the whole trip and I’d absolutely go back!
Justin M — Google review
We dined at Monkeypod three times during our 7 nights in Wailea, and each visit was incredible! The food is absolutely outstanding, but what made our experience unforgettable was the service—especially from our server, Ryan. We had him the first night we visited and again before heading to the airport, and he is simply amazing. The way he describes the food and drinks, his warmth and professionalism—it’s service like we’ve never experienced before. Our last meal at Monkeypod was the perfect send-off from Maui. Thank you, Ryan, for the exceptional hospitality—we hope to see you again in the future!
Emily B — Google review
Overall good review. They will tell you to come on in without a reservation but expect a 30 min wait. When you go to buy a drink at the bar while you’re waiting the bartender will abruptly direct you to a line to order a drink which felt strange. I had the fish and chips which was very good. My wife had a pizza which was very limp and wet and wasn’t great but not horrible. Our waiter was outstanding once we got to our table. Their prices are very fair for the food, the drinks are a little pricey. And the Mai Tai is as good as rumored.

Keawakapu Beach, located between Wailea and Kihei in South Maui, offers a tranquil and less touristed alternative to the larger beaches in the area. The beach features soft white sand perfect for lounging and strolling, while the calm ocean is great for swimming and snorkeling, especially at the southern end where sea turtles can be spotted. It's a hidden gem with fewer resorts nearby, making it popular among locals.
Keawakapu Beach is a gem with soft sand, clear waters, and fewer crowds than other Maui beaches. It’s great for swimming, snorkeling near the rocky outcrops, and long walks along the shore. Sunsets here are stunning, and morning visits offer calm waters. Limited parking means arriving early is best. There are showers but no public restrooms. It’s a peaceful, scenic spot perfect for a relaxed beach day.
Shane P — Google review
Smooth sand (virtually no rocks). Grassy area next to the sand for even more comfortable seating. Beautiful water, great temperature. Waves were pleasant. Free parking/access. This beach was "just right" for us.
Benjamin C — Google review
This beach was recommended by several staff from our hotel. The beach is beautiful with its very smooth sand. It’s a little tricky navigating from the parking lot while carrying beach chairs and umbrellas. The place was crowded when we visited, I can see why there why the place is popular with swimmers.
Susanna S — Google review
Easy to find because its on a dead end street. Very small parking lot, and only 1 porta potty that was due for cleaning and emptying. The beach was chill, a reef right at sand level for easy snorkeling. You can get in and out without issue. I recommend going in the morning for more fish and turtle viewing. We went in the afternoon and saw fish and a baby octopus but no turtles. A guy said he was there early morning and saw multiple turtles and small spotted eagle ray.
AH — Google review
Always a great beach to swim at, with interesting formations for snorkeling. Nice showers and well maintained restrooms for a comfortable day at one of Maui's most scenic beaches.
Toby N — Google review
Great beach for swimming, snorkeling. Saw a sea turtle swimming by the rocks. There are two parking lots and easy beach access.
TJ B — Google review
Great beach for exploring. The day we went, the surf was pretty rough so we just explored around the rocks. Easy parking and lots of shade.

Very disappointing experience at Wailea Tennis Club. When I arrived, I was told the ball machine was put away because they “didn’t have faith” I would show up, even though I never had a reservation the day before. Later, when it rained, the staff angrily shut things down and told us to leave without offering any help while we were stuck in the downpour. The way I was treated felt dismissive and discriminatory as an Asian guest. Unprofessional, unwelcoming, and nobody should ever come here.
Kornelia W — Google review
Beautiful facility with 10 courts, excellent customer service, friendly knowledgeable employees, very helpful. Also, very nice selection of shoes, clothing, rackets and anything tennis related with decent prices. Full service pro shop. Memberships, clinics, lessons, ball machine, pickle ball court, round robin, even player matching!

Excellent tennis facility with amazing staff! The courts are in fantastic condition and the pro shop well stocked with everything a tennis player needs. Thank you Wailea tennis Club!

A great place to play tennis on our vacation to Maui. Johnathan and Lexi were great!

Amazing club! We came here for a doubles game, and needed to rent everything. All the rackets and equipment are top notch, and the tennis pro is super helpful and accommodating. We ended up buying the rackets we rented for a super good deal. I highly recommend Wailea Tennis Club!

This place has it all for the serious tennis player. Great instructors, large numbers of courses, match arranging and more!!! I loved coming here for my two and a half month long stay, and can't wait to go back next summer. The staff are amazing, personal, and very friendly and helpful. I go every other day, from 7 A.M. to 5 P.M. and never get tired of being around them. Patrick is very helpful and honest, Jill is energetic, Morgan is insightful and quite the character, Chan is dedicated and tennis smart, and Ricky is the man, and the one who had mentored me the most, and the one who I most attribute my recent improvement to. All around, this place is the absolute best for those who are willing to do what it takes to improve their game or have fun. 10 out of 10 would visit again.

The restaurant food and staff are SO GOOD! Though the menu is limited, they worked hard to meet our restrictive diet needs. Panko cauliflower was deeeeeelish. Server was a sweetheart and the drinks were delicious! Dragonfruit margarita was a little tart and tasty, pono watermelon sugar high and pono Maui sunset were both drool worthy. Cashew cheese was great. Plenty of good grinds even for vegan. Will be back!

A Grand Wailea Lū‘au offers a classic Hawaiian buffet, an open bar, hula lessons, and other activities. It stands out for its Maui-focused show featuring local history and legends. Located at the Grand Wailea Resort, it's a convenient choice for those staying in Wailea or Kihei. The feast is praised for its delicious food and excellent service with breathtaking views of the sunrise over the water.
Incredible time! From the moment we get our Lay’s to watching the performances to the food. The open bar was just the cherry on top. Highly recommend the premium seating. Cannot wait to go back
Christian — Google review
We had booked this luau without looking at Google reviews first and let me be the bearer of bad news but the most recent reviews were pretty spot on. The positives: the location was phenomenal. The sunset views were out of what seemed like a catalog. The hotel, impeccable and stunning. The outdoor setting was clean and beautifully sculpted. The wait and seating staff were kind and friendly. The not so positive: the food was bland. For the price that is advertised for this luau, we expected a unique and flavorful dish/dishes but nothing popped out as unique or different. I'd also like to add that the desserts looked like they were bought from the store, as seen in the pictures. The entertainers were 50/50, half seemed really into the performance and the other half seemed like they didn't want to be there. Again, for the price, I'd assume a performance that was more entertaining. On a side note, my wife and I have never been to a luau and didn't know what to expect however in this instance, more money for a luau does not mean a better experience. This was a mediocre experience with a great view but with nothing special and nothing warranting the price paid for the luau.
Robert O — Google review
We booked the premium seating and had a wonderful time! Everyone working there was super nice and friendly. Especially our server Joe, who was kind and super attentive. When my daughter said she felt a little cold, he brought her a warm towel to keep cozy. That really made us feel cared for. The drinks were tasty, the food was fresh and delicious. And there was a lot of it! We definitely didn’t leave hungry. The show was so fun, with dancing, chanting, and the fire performance. Our kids loved it, and they still talk about Chief Mana and his fire tricks! Before the show, there were fun things to do like lawn games, hula dancing, temporary tattoos, and photos. The neck pieces they gave us before seating were beautiful and well made. We also would recommend the photograph service. It's $50/photo if I recall correctly, but the quality and keepsake value made it totally worth it. The sunset view was absolutely stunning! One small issue is that when we changed our date, the staff mentioned that our original table would be changed to a different number with not much explanation on what that really meant. When we got there I realized that it was still premium seating, but now second row, and the table in front of us blocked a lot of the view especially for the little ones. Lots of time they had to stand or move to see the stage, which wasn’t ideal. If they could arrange the seating better so every premium seat has a clear view, it’d be perfect. Overall, we had a wonderful night full of good food, great service, and fun entertainment. Would totally recommend!
Natalie T — Google review
I've attended different Luaus before and this was my first time attending with my significant other, and unfortunately, we did not have a good experience. For this price and not being able to enjoy the food is very disappointing. The meat was inedible. Did not enjoy entertainment. The staff were nice. I recommend exploring other options when considering booking a Luau. There are plenty of great options.
E P — Google review
For the premium pricing at a premium resort we were expecting an outstanding experience yet it felt commercial and bland. The entertainers did not seem very passionate about being there. The fire dance at the end was not very impressive with only one guy spinning the fire rod. The food was good, but nothing stood out. It was very similar to what we ordered at a local diner. The VIP tickets don’t get you any other benefits than a table in front. You don’t even get a lei. We had a good time and made memories but it was not worth the higher ticket prices compared to other luau’s.
Marie C — Google review
The grounds are gorgeous. The Luai was AWFUL. Not much dancing, pig that was brought out is a plastic pig on a gurney, food is Horrible. I can see why people are not attending this event. Too much money for what you get. Very disappointed. I would strongly suggest other Luai’s to attend in Maui. November 2025
Cheryl H — Google review
The food and service here were great. I enjoyed learning about the culture and loved the interactive part of the show. My boyfriend stole the show with his moves. I hate that I did not get it on camera. We had a table to ourselves at the stage, so it was a bit pricey. Overall we enjoyed the experience.
Tanya G — Google review
We spent the extra money for "premium seating". We told them we had one vegan before arriving. You have to arrive at 5:30. Tables are all in the sun, no umbrellas, our premium seating was on the side with other tables in front of us. The stage was obstructed and we would have had a better view with general seating. Vegan meal was horrible, but in general food was not good. They serve tao chips from a bag you can buy in the grocery store! Bartenders were rude and the show was not good. The only interesting part was the last act of fire juggling. I have been to much better luaus. They charge 50.00 for a picture, that was also a scam. Save your money and find something else.

Shopping
The Shops at Wailea is a top shopping and dining destination on Maui's South Side, offering over 70 boutiques, shops, restaurants, and art galleries. Visitors can explore luxury brands like Gucci and Louis Vuitton as well as island-style fashion and jewelry stores. The mall also hosts regular evening entertainment for a lively atmosphere.
Nice small upscale mall in Wailea. Lot of clothing and Furniture stores. Nice restaurants too. Parking is free. Lots of small events such as a Hula performance.
An P — Google review
The Shops of Wailea is a stylish luxury mall within walking distance of major resorts. Located on 2 levels, with elevators and ramps fully handicap accessible. Plenty of free parking in the surrounding lot. A modern complex of high-end stores of major international and famous brands - mainly jewelry and watches, apparel, art, furniture. A few restaurants like Maui Brewing Co., Wolfgang's Steakhouse, Ruth Chris Steakhouse, Aurum, and others. Live music and performances in the central courtyard during afternoons.
Walter P — Google review
If you’re visiting Maui, this place is a must! 🌺 A beautiful mix of local boutiques and high-end favorites like Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton, and Tiffany & Co — all surrounded by palm trees, open-air walkways, and that signature island breeze. 🌴 There are plenty of great spots to eat and drink, and don’t forget to check out the happy hour 🍹 the perfect way to unwind after a little retail therapy! Plus, there’s lots of parking, so no stress getting in and out. 🚗✨ And if you’re thinking about buying, selling, or renting property in Maui, stop by and see my friend Scarlett Marten from Coldwell Banker, she’s right in the mall and knows the island market like no one else. 🏝️🏡
William J — Google review
Great mix of upscale and ‘standard’ shops. Plus a few places to grab a meal, a bite, or even just a drink. Beautiful two-story outdoor mall. Stage in the center of it all for hula shows and other performances. That weekend they also had a wood carving artist. Incredible wood statues of turtles and other oceanic idols. My fav joints: Waikiki Brewing Company for Pima coladas and Mai Tais (of course Waikiki is on Oahu not Maui), Honolulu Cookie Company (also based on Oahu), and Soha Living for cool home decor items. Go upstairs for more upscale: Prada, St Laurent, LV, and Gucci. They also have a lulu which is somewhere between uplift and standard.
G L — Google review
We loved coming here on our honeymoon! There’s a great variety of shops & restaurants from casual to higher-end. We loved Waikiki brewing co, Arum, Maui Matcha, and the vintage tshirt store!!!
Danielle S — Google review
Just spent ten days in Maui. Three of those days I stopped by The Shops at Wailea. An open air mall like none other that I have explored, kept me coming back for more. My wife and I first stopped by for some hamburgers at the Waikiki Brewing Company. Then we visited a world famous Tiki carving store. I also had the opportunity to stop by the Tiffany Store and learned about the diamond trade, and admire some rings that sparkled like the stars on a clear night. The sorbet at the Lapperts shop was delicious. The Mall also has art galleries that we enjoyed looking over. I purchased a book about the great Hawaiian, Duke from the SoHa store. There is something for everyone here and it is a joy finding it.

If you get bored of overspending at Whalers Village and want to overspend somewhere else then let me introduce you to The Shops at Wailea! In all seriousness, this does feel very similar to Whalers Village, especially since the shopping experience feels catered more to the nearby hotel guests than anything. There’s some variety in the shops in terms of content and price point and parking is good so it’s accessible. The grounds itself are very pretty and clean and the stores were well kept and staffed. There are some restaurant/food options but less so than Whalers Village. A big plus is that they do have an ABC store here which boosts the utility of the shopping center. Another big plus is that they do have performances here at certain times and when we walked through there was an artist who had his carvings out on display, he may have even been the owner of the gallery on the top floor, but we’re unsure. The whole place is nice and a good shopping option so if you’re nearby and want to go window (or real) shopping then this is a solid spot.
Amber L — Google review
I visited The Shops at Wailea while vacationing in Maui from the mainland. I was looking to do a little shopping and explore some local spots, and this place popped up a lot in travel guides and recommendations. It’s definitely a beautiful shopping center—nicely landscaped, clean, and with that open-air tropical vibe that makes strolling around feel relaxing. That said, once I got there, it felt more like a tourist trap than an authentic shopping destination. The main draw seems to be the high-end designer stores like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Prada, which are fine if you’re looking to splurge. But if you’re just casually browsing or hoping to pick up something unique or more local, the options are limited. There are a few art galleries and souvenir shops, but many of them are also super pricey. I was honestly a little surprised by how expensive everything was across the board—even the casual shops and cafes were charging premium prices. I get that it’s Maui and in a resort area, but it still felt like a bit much. It’s clearly geared toward tourists staying in nearby luxury resorts. That said, it’s still a nice place to kill some time. Parking was free and easy when I went, and it’s a comfortable spot to walk around, window shop, or grab a coffee. The location is great, and you’re close to a lot of beautiful beaches and resorts, so it’s convenient to swing by if you’re in the area. Just don’t expect any great deals or a huge variety of shops. Overall, I’d say it’s worth visiting once if you’re nearby, especially if you’re into high-end brands or want to check out the scene—but be ready for sticker shock.

Golf course
The Wailea Blue Golf Course, also known as the Old Blue, is a classic 18-hole course designed by Arthur Jack Snyder. It offers golfers 6,765 yards of beautifully laid out fairways and pristine greens. As the first golf course in Wailea, it provides stunning views of Wailea Beach, Mt. Haleakala, and neighboring islands along the sparkling Pacific Ocean's horizon.
Beautiful course and a joy to play. Wide fairways, tough greens and fast. Too bad the houses are squeezing out the natural feel of the course. American way - build McMansions and rent them out and bet you’re going to sell them in 2 years for $MM more. 👎 I’ll play again if it’s still here.
Craig T — Google review
This will be my last time going to Wailea Blue Course. While the course itself is beautiful, the customer service was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a golf course, especially one attached to a high-end resort. From the start, one of the cart attendants was extremely rude and condescending. Instead of welcoming us, he judged our appearance and made unnecessary comments like “you guys look like you Cruise,” which came across as insulting. As locals, it felt like he was putting us down as if we were at the bottom compared to resort guests. That’s not the kind of atmosphere you expect when paying premium prices to play here. To make matters worse, after finishing the round, this same attendant came up to us and said, “don’t pick up the trash, that’s how you pay us.” This was shocking, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. Golf should be enjoyable, respectful, and inclusive, but this experience left us feeling unwelcome and disrespected. As someone who manages for a high-end resort myself, I found this behavior disgusting and far below the standard of hospitality. I will not be recommending Wailea Blue Course to any of my high-end guests, nor will I be returning. A course of this caliber should be setting the standard for service ,not allowing employees to ruin what should have been a great day of golf.

Great golf course and very wonderful touches. Ashley, front desk, was extremely rude to us and put a sour taste in our mouth. We could even hear her radioing in to the other staff talking down on us. For $500 for two people and receive that treatment, it stings! All other staff were lovely and very kind to us.

Customer service was top notch. Green fees are high, but what isn’t these days…you gotta pay to play! Staff was great, course conditions were awesome and the views were beautiful. I’ll definitely be back!

We had a mid day tee time, the ranges were easy to get a quick warm up at then it was easy to fall in. 18 holes flew by with breathtaking views, the cart woman was friendly, and the course was well manicured. We had a great time getting out and having some fun.

Wailea Golf offers three premier golf courses on the beautiful island of Maui, Hawaii. The Gold course is known for its strategic design and natural undulations, providing exciting risk-reward opportunities. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., the 18-hole course spans over 7,000 yards and offers picturesque views of greenery, ocean, and lava rock. It has hosted prestigious events like the Champions Skins Game.
Review for the Gold course: First off, this is a beautiful course. You can see the ocean from almost every hole with scenic views. Tee boxes are all nicely kept with lots of grass. Of the Par3's will have divots from the other players, but there are no dead grass areas. The fairways are really great and wonderful to hit off. The grass is nice and full, with no bald spots that I could see. The rough here can get thick and a little tricky to hit out of, i should know I was here a lot. The rough tended to shut my face. It's thick grass, which is the nice part, not weeds. There isn't an overbearing amount of trees, but they seemed to be placed right where I miss my shots. Most of the greens are really nice and smooth. Very well maintained. The putts rolled smoothly and straight where I was aiming and starting the putt. On one or two of the greens, there were some bald spots, but nothing too bad. Bunkers! If you like bunkers and the beach, there are a lot of them on the gold course. Some big, some small, some wide, whatever you are looking for they have it. Every hole has bunkers, so look ahead to see if you can avoid them. All the bunkers do have nice sand and not hard packed down sand so hitting out of them should be good. The staff was great and friendly. We got out on time. They do give you an aluminum water bottle to fill up while you're on the course. The golf carts are also nice with GPS, but it does not have the breaks on the greens. Amenities: -Driving range - grass range, that you are hitting uphill. -Chipping and putting green - nice are to putt and chipping with lot of undulation. -Pro Shop - Sells a lot of clothes and a few golf clubs, Callaway's. We had a great experience here, and we are definitely coming back to play the gold course and the other two courses.

The views were incredible throughout the whole course! My boyfriend played the Emerald course because we heard it has the best views and was the second most challenging course. He played great, the staff was super friendly and accommodating! If we come back to Hawaii I can 100% promise we will be back. We played in the morning and it was amazing weather the whole time we were there. We got through pretty quickly, no waiting for anyone ahead as tee times are spaced out perfectly to make it a very enjoyable experience. I absolutely recommend coming here!

Wailea Gold was 10/10. Highlights: - Greens: phenomenal. Ran fast but fair. Can’t be above the pin but setup rewarded shotmaking. Compare to Kapalua Bay Course with greens that were essentially unplayable - Pace: played early morning sub 4 hours. Felt like a slice of paradise to ourselves, barely saw other players - Staff: everyone was courteous and helpful. Beverage cart was particularly awesome (thanks Tia!) - Design: this is really an interesting test of golf. You need to think your way around the course. I could see good golfers going very low or very high depending on strategy
Tyler K — Google review
Played the Gold course and really enjoyed the layout and the conditions were excellent. Course was not busy in the afternoon and no wind! Greens and fairways were in excellent condition, bunkers have lots of sand and I was in quite a few. Great views as well. We had a really excellent time.

The clubhouse offers a fantastic selection of stylish merchandise, and they even provide discounts if you’re staying in hotels in the Wailea area. One unique feature is the special topless cart you take to the driving range. The chipping green is in superb condition, so set aside some time before your round to enjoy it, it will give you a good feel of what the actual greens will be like. The golf course itself is both challenging and breathtaking, making it absolutely worth every dollar. Everything is impeccably maintained, and their service truly enhances the experience. Make sure to grab a bag tag before you leave, same for all your Hawaii courses. Highly recommend this course to anyone visiting Wailea

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely incredible golf experience at Wailea Golf Club! I had the chance to play both the Gold and Emerald Courses, and they completely exceeded my expectations. The Gold Course is a golfer’s dream. It’s challenging but so rewarding, with perfectly designed holes that make you think strategically. Hole #8, with its downhill par 3 and stunning ocean views, was absolutely breathtaking. The rugged terrain and immaculate fairways made this course unforgettable. The Emerald Course was equally amazing but in a more relaxing way. It’s less demanding than the Gold, but the lush landscaping and vibrant tropical flowers are just mesmerizing. Hole #10, with its wide fairway and panoramic ocean view, was a personal favorite. Both courses are impeccably maintained, and the views of the Pacific, Molokini, and Haleakalā are unbeatable. I enjoyed every minute here—it’s paradise for any golfer. Can’t wait to come back!

Wow. This is by far the best massage experience in Maui. It’s a beautiful setting with option to have massage indoor or outdoor. Every massage therapist I’ve had is amazing. I have not been coming here every year I come to Maui. Skip the overrated and overpriced hotel spas, and come here instead. Here there is much better pricing and a way more authentic and friendly experience! (They also have a nice center with programming and other classes, including yoga, sound healing, etc.!)

We had such a wonderful experience with our couple’s massage! Rebecca worked with my partner and La-Rue worked with me, and both were absolutely fantastic. They were professional, attentive, and made us feel completely relaxed and cared for. The whole session was exactly what we needed — soothing, rejuvenating, and deeply enjoyable. Highly recommend Rebecca, La-Rue, and the team here if you’re looking for a memorable massage experience in Wailea!

Hands down the best massage my wife and I have ever received, and we’ve had our fair share over the years. Wailea Healing Center is a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere. Rebecca and “Guru” Larue were nothing short of exceptional. Their attention to detail, intuitive touch, and calming energy made this experience unforgettable. We walked out feeling not just relaxed, but truly restored. If you’re in Maui and looking for something more than just a massage, something healing, this is the place. We can’t recommend it enough.

To start this has nothing to do with the masseuses, we normally do a couples massage and schedule with LaRue & Robyn who are AMAZING Masseuse. Hands down both of them 5 stars plus! We book 3 to 4 couple massages each time we come to Maui twice a year withWailea Healing Center for the last 3 years. This trip we had our concierge person book 2 massages last week everything went good but things felt off at the business and we learn David was no longer part of the business. We learned our concierge’s person was having trouble getting those two massages booked finally she was able to get them book so we decided we would do one more time before we left. Our concierge’s person called the owner directly on Friday got us booked for Monday at 4:00pm and possibly Tuesday if LaRue & Robyn were available. Normally we receive at confirmation text we thought it was strange we hadn’t received one yet for Monday so we re-checked with our concierge. She confirmed everything was set up and she received a confirmation email directly from the owner. We show up today at 3:40pm nobody’s was there and normally LaRue is standing there waiting for us because he knows we show 15 to 20 minutes early. Nobody was there - 4:00pm came still nobody. We call our concierge person to verify we did not make a mistake she told us it was today at 4:00pm. She said I’ll call the owner and call us right back. She contacted the owner to find out the owner, forgot to schedule the masseuse’s for our Massage for Monday & Tuesday. We were VERY disappointed and felt devalued and unappreciative, and that our business with Wailea Healing Center did not matter. Right now we don’t know if we’ll return to this business for massages. The hard part is in making that decision is we love LaRue & Robyn.

Amazing experience, I had massages from both Jennifer and Robyn who were both 10/10. The massages could not have been anymore beautiful and enjoyable. We were greeted with coconut water and a golf cart ride to our massage hut set up outdoors on the top of the hill overlooking the ocean. Jennifer was also so sweet and kind to answer our questions for top dining experiences In Maui. There is no way you could regret an experience such as we had, thank you so much ladies.

Maluaka Beach, also known as Prince Beach and Turtle Beach, is a picturesque destination located in front of the Makena Beach and Golf Resort. It offers excellent snorkeling opportunities at the north end, ideal waves for boogie boarding in the summer, ample amenities such as parking, restrooms, showers, and a beach activity stand for equipment rentals.
This is a wonderful beach. It’s beautiful during the day and at night during sunset. It’s a great location too and has great snorkeling.
Kaitie L — Google review
Maluaka Beach is an intimate sliver of golden sand beach that parallels the former Maui Prince Resort in Makena along Makena Road. Views of Kahoolawe, Molokini, Lanai, west Maui and Molokai are drop-dead gorgeous, along with the ocean’s hues of blues and greens. There are no facilities here sans for a lifesaving float belt posted near the beach’s entrance. As long as there’s no south swells, the water is very calm; good for swimming/floating and snorkeling with a small reef close to shore. A convenient loading zone is available near the beach allowing you to load/unload your gear. A lack of parking is the only downfall as Makena Road is a residential street with just a few spots along the shoulders. There is a small park and parking lot just north of the beach that also sports restrooms. OVERALL: The “baby beach” of Makena.
Maui T — Google review
Maluaka Beach is beautiful and has nice sand, but the surf was pretty rough when we visited, with waves breaking right on the shoreline which made it a bit tricky to get in and out of the water. We also didn’t see many fish while snorkeling unless we went out past the rocks along the side, so maybe the marine life depends on the time of day. We visited from about 9am to 11am. Overall, it’s a decent beach, but not quite the calm snorkeling spot we were hoping for.
Stephanie W — Google review
Great spot for snorkeling! Not too far out is some coral with lots of fish to see and close to the shore just standing in the water we saw about 6 turtles swim right past us. It was amazing!
Ashlee P — Google review
One of the best swimming and snorkeling beaches on Maui. An all time favorite.
John P — Google review
The south end of this smallish beach filled steadily with resort guests but the north end was lightly populated on a Saturday morning. The best snorkeling though is on the south end, not right along the rocks, but further out above the coral. The visibility was decent and while there weren't great numbers, there was a wide variety of fish. There is a fair amount of shade available all morning, and there was a nice breeze while we were there. The waves picked up several times but then always calmed down again. Unless you're just one person, plan to drop a person and gear at the drive-through for the beach park, then park back up the road across from the church, where there's nice shade, bathrooms and sand showers.

Come early to get the best spot before the crowds. We arrived at 930am and practically had the beach to ourselves until noon during the week. Great place to snorkel and see sea turtles and fish. I was only waste deep standing by the shore and one swam right by me. I’m a novice swimmer and the water was very calm

Mulligans on the Blue is a charming open-air Irish-American restaurant and bar located at Wailea Blue Golf Course, offering stunning ocean views and live music. The venue combines Celtic and Polynesian hospitality to create a unique "Irish aloha" atmosphere. With its authentic Irish decor, including Guinness signs and polished woodwork, Mulligans sets the stage for nightly live Irish music as well as jazz performances.
If you want a sports bar to watch NFL Sunday football this is the place. They have multiple big-screen TVs and had three separate football games on, so whatever team you like chances are they’ll be on one of the TVs. Oh, and as an added bonus, this most definitely is a local’s hangout which added to the great atmosphere. We sat at the bar to watch the games and the lone bartender was severely over worked. This dude was literally sweating trying to keep up with the patrons’ demand for drinks and eats and he did a great job, that’s why I rate the service as a five. Okay, on to the food. I had a pot pie that was served piping hot and chock full of tender chunks of beef. The crust was crisp and flaky too. The only critique is that there were very few veggies, it was pretty dried out and too salty. But hey it had a ton of meat folks so I can’t really complain. My wife had the fish and chips. The fish and fries were both hot and crunchy so no problem there, although we’ve had better tasting fish. In the end, we probably would not go back here to eat, BUT as a sports bar is not all about the food and since we only tried two of the items on the menu, that’s why I give the food a four star rating.

Fabulous Service and Food at Mulligan’s on the Blue in Maui, Hawaii. I wanted to extend my sincerest thanks Michael O’Dwyer and the entire staff at Mulligan’s on the Blue located at 100 Kaukahi, St. in Wailea/Kihei, Maui. If you are looking for a family-run business great for families, couples and individuals alike, that serves especially tasty food and cold drinks with entertainment, against the backdrop of historical Irish flair, beautiful palm trees and the picturesque Maui sunset—Mulligan’s on the Blue is the place to go. I went in search of an appropriate place to bring my wife and tween children with good food, excellent attention to the patron and entertainment while in Maui. I am happy to say that Mulligan’s provided us with a phenomenal experience. The food at Mulligan’s was especially tasty and savory. I recommend the brisket ribs and BBQ ribs—the meat falls off the bone it’s so tender. The coconut shrimp were mouth watering and the cheeseburger and fries were perfect. Additionally, the service at Mulligan’s was excellent. At the outset, a special “Mahalo” to owner, Michael O’Dwyer. Despite a packed restaurant owner/manager/ and all around great guy, Michael O’Dwyer, took time out from cooking to cordially greet my wife and children and recount a bit of the restaurant’s history referencing several pieces of poster art hanging on the wall. He also let us know that, as a family run business on Maui for almost 25 years, the restaurant’s food and service were a source of familial pride. Family, staff, local patrons and visiting customers, alike, all contribute to the restaurant’s success. When my family arrived at Mulligan’s, it was busy. Even though Mulligan’s was very crowded, Juan and Mauricio, our waiters, provided us with a table quickly and efficiently—minimizing wait time. Juan and Mauricio, the gentlemen who took our orders and assisted us, were friendly and cordial. Juan explained menu options, suggested food we might like to sample, made polite conversation with my wife and children in both Spanish and English, was very attentive to me and my family and, I noticed, to each person seated at the other tables. Both Juan and Mauricio provided us with exceptional service over and above what normally might be expected—and more than what I have received at other restaurants in and around Maui and NYC. Especially, in view of the many other restaurant guests to which they had to tend. Juan and Mauricio were fantastic. They understood my wife and kids were hungry and handled our orders quickly. Juan remembered what each one of us ordered and placed the correct plate in front of each person quickly and seamlessly. Incredibly impressive in view of the number of tables he was handling that afternoon/evening and the number of orders he must have taken. The staff at Mulligan’s was incredibly attentive to all of our requests and made it a point to pass by the table on three or four occasions to politely inquire whether everything was going well and whether we wanted additional food or drink. The staff contributed to an overall great dining experience as a result of their tireless efforts. In short, Michael O’Dwyer’s Mulligan’s on the Blue provided great food and great customer service in a courteous, professional and friendly manner. When friends, colleagues and others ask me for a recommendation for a place in Maui with great food and excellent service, I will let them know that they have to get to Mulligan’s on the Blue in Wailea/Kihei.

We went there to see Brenton Keith and his bag O' tricks. The food was great. I had the bangers and mash and my wife had the Shepherd's pie. Both were delicious. We stumbled into Mulligan’s Irish Pub on a Thursday and had no idea we were in for such an incredible night. They host a magic show for only a $10-per-person cover—an absolute steal for the quality of entertainment! We had our 9-year-old with us, who loves magic, and the experience couldn’t have been more perfect. Brent, the magician, not only put on an amazing show but also brought our son into the act and genuinely encouraged his love of magic. It meant so much to us and absolutely made his night. As Brits, we were also seriously impressed with the food—it was awesome—plus the drink prices were great, and the whole place has such a pretty, inviting setting. We could not have loved it more. Highly, highly recommend!

Ulua Beach, located on the south shore, is a family-friendly destination with lush forests, soft sand, and gentle waves perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The beach features a winding boardwalk lined with palm trees that offers picturesque views for all visitors. Additionally, it provides easy access to nearby lodging and other attractions such as Makena Beach State Park and Oneuli Beach.
This may be our favourite beach in Maui. Sometime there is awesome boogie boarding and huge waves, but when calm there is some decent snorkelling along the far right reef. There is even some shade if you like! Bathrooms and showers are available also. No lifeguard here. Not a lot of parking though and it fills up early
Scott A — Google review
This was our first visit to Ulua Beach ,but definitely not our last. It has a good amount of parking spaces. Public restrooms, outdoor shower, and everything is very clean. On the north end take a short climb through some trees and you can go into another Beach. Snorkeling was fun with a fair amount of fish to see. We didn't see any turtles today but I'm sure they're out there. Family friendly, small waves. Nice sandy beach.

Great beach for snorkeling! Make sure you arrive there early ! Best time for snorkeling is 7-9 am ! We had no experience with snorkeling and didn’t know about it . Got there around 11 am ! But we still got a glimpse of the reef there despite the choppy water ! Ps they all recommend this beach for snorkeling ! From my observation there is a small beach nearby that is great for snorkeling too. It has no name but it is near boat launch! Water is very calm and it has lots of pencil urchin visible from the shore!
Shellie S — Google review
Great place for easy snorkeling. No issues going in or out. The reef begins at shoreline so you will see stuff immediately. I recommend going earlier for quieter experience which usually equals more fish and wildlife. Its attached to a resort so lots of people means less to see by afternoon. Facilities were clean and open to public unlike other beaches nearby. Its also right near Wailea shopping center and Kihei so tons of places to eat afterwards for many budgets.
AH — Google review
Soft sandy beach and a great place to catch the sunset. Good snorkeling and several sea turtles in the area. The coral reefs are worth exploring, underwater visibility picks up the further you are from the sands shores.
Albert R — Google review
Our favorite beach for snorkling with our child. The north end of the beach has an easy entrance to the reef compared to other beaches in South shore Maui. On a good day we got to see almost all the fish on the "fish card", and also a sea turtle! Just be sure to keep your distance and don't disturb them!
Jonatan W — Google review
Good for snorkeling. I can spot Turtle here, Make sure to pick the day that is not too strong wind. Have a public restroom and shower area. There is a lot of parking.
BD L — Google review
We arrived here following local recommendation and we discovered excellent beach. The beach is so beautiful with an option for shady spots. There is a promenade along the beach along the luxury hotels. The beach is a great place to snorkel. We saw a sea turtle and lots of corals under the water. Highly recommended.

Molokini is a crescent-shaped islet off the coast of Maui, formed by a partially submerged volcanic crater. It's renowned as one of the best snorkeling spots in Hawaii, especially during summer swells. The unique geography and orientation of the crater create a natural shelter from strong currents and swells, providing a calm environment for snorkelers. Accessible by boat tours, Molokini offers exceptional visibility exceeding 180 feet and diverse marine life.
The water is very clear so you can see a long way. Lots of reef fish to see while snorkeling. Molokini is a mist visit location for snorkelers to go when they are on Maui.

Best experience for snorkelling. Out of the world. Nature’s beauty for visual treat.

As an inexperienced swimmer, I was nervous about snorkeling at Molokini Crater, but it turned out to be an amazing experience! The crew was friendly and professional, providing detailed instructions and all necessary gear. The water was crystal clear, and I quickly felt comfortable thanks to the supportive guides. The marine life was stunning. I saw colorful fish, coral reefs, and even sea turtles. The crew ensured our safety and shared interesting facts about the marine life. The tour was relaxed, allowing plenty of time to explore at my own pace. It’s a fun, memorable adventure with breathtaking underwater views!

Awesome snorkeling. First time as your typical middle age office worker. We went on January, the water was cool but it wasn't too cool. We adjusted to it fine. You need to physically be able to lift yourself up to a stair step just barely in the water to get back onto the boat. I'm north of 220 pounds, and while challenging it was doable. I highly recommend it. We were able to hear what sounded like 1,000s of distant whales in our go-pro videos. Super clear water, so many species of fish. Even saw a seal!
Daniel H — Google review
After coming here for snorkeling, we did not find any places around. The only thing I wish for is if there were some restaurants close by or something, because we got really hungry after the trip. I'd definitely suggest to bring some snacks or even pack a big lunch to each on the trip.

Makena Landing Park is an oceanfront park in Wailea, offering a sandy beach and various water activities such as snorkeling, diving, and kayaking. It is known for its excellent snorkeling spots like Turtle Town, where you can observe Hawaiian green sea turtles in their natural habitat. The area between Nahuna Point and Black Sand Beach is home to over a dozen turtles, with some congregating at a cleaning station called 'The Car Wash.'
Accidentally came across this place during my one day quick south island , and was amazed by how casual and local spot it is to snorkel and chill. It was a Sunday afternoon and parking is not crowded, I was looking for a safe and local spot for a quick snorkeling, here it is! I came across a turtle and several groups of scuba divers. Definitely a great shore diving spot worth exploring more if time allows.

5/5 great spot. Waves weren’t too crazy even though wind was picking up and we saw turtles while snorkeling!! Two!! Awesome little area although parking is limited.

Did a kayaking excursion with the family to snorkel with sea turtles. We went on a beautiful day. The turtles were everywhere and the whole thing was very fun. Highly recommend scuba or snorkeling out here to see some marine life in crystal clear water.
Olliver T — Google review
I am so glad they have improved the road and have added some official street parking spots. The parking lot fills up on busy days, but we generally get a spot. This is a great place to launch a kayak or paddle board. There is an ice little area to hang out, picnic, and swim. Some people like snorkeling over here and we generally see turtles when we go. This is a great place to launch for whale watching during the winter months. Today, we saw a pod of dolphins but it is a little early for whales.
Cheryl S — Google review
Views were amazing, sand was soft, surf was a bit strong but still worth the visit. Keep in mind that the Cinder trail is not maintained so it's almost impossible to reach the cone and because the small beach is more remote, you're likely spot nude swimmers and sunbathers.

Nestled within the Wailea Beach Resort - Marriott, Maui, the Mandara Spa is a serene oasis that perfectly captures the essence of Maui's natural beauty and hospitality. Boasting 9,153 square feet of space, this spa offers eleven treatment rooms with options for ocean views and deluxe couples suites. Guests can indulge in facials, body treatments, and massages while enjoying a tranquil relaxation area, steam room, lockers, and showers.
I recently stayed at the Wailea Beach Resort with several of my husband's co-workers & spouses. I decided to book a deep tissue massage & relexology treatment after the receptionist recommended Mike. It was incredible! Possibly one of the best massages I have ever had. Not only an excellent massage therapist, Mike has a wealth of knowledge in Eastern practices. I have had a frozen shoulder since August 2024 & have been going to physical therapy & a massage therapist. Many of the techniques & oils Mike used offered so much relief & healing to my painful joint. If you have the opportunity to get a massage while at the resort, I highly recommend him!
Rebecca C — Google review
Please read prior to booking at this spa.. This was one of the worst massages my husband and I have ever received, and definitely the worst by far for a “luxury” spa. I have had probably 40-50 massages, I’m a regular and often leave massages in a “zen” or meditative state. Unfortunately that was not the case here, during this massage I was extremely uncomfortable and my husband and I both said we wished we would have gotten up and left during the massage. The “technique” they used was horrible or they just had no idea what they were doing. It breaks my heart to write about a persons profession in this way.. but we neither left relaxed or rejuvenated. We did leave with a $600 bill for a service we wouldn’t return to even if it were $50. The massage was even painful at sometimes as they massaged over my bones, applied pressure in uncomfortable places like the front of my ankles, shook my body and applied still pressure in places that did absolutely nothing for me. We are on our honeymoon and have been looking forward to the massage for the entire trip… HUGE letdown. In additional disappointment, we showed up 45 minutes early to enjoy the “amenities”, which were hardly amenities. The steam room was not on and did not get hot and other than that all that was available was a “relaxation room” with lounge chairs & refreshments and showers… I’ve been to spas half the price with better amenities than this one. I have always had no problem paying premium for exceptional experiences, but this was not that. In addition, there was an automatic 20% service charge for gratuity. As someone who worked in service, I am all for tipping… however it should be based on service and in this case, the service was exceptionally terrible.

Lovely hotel. Very close to the ocean. Two beaches on each side. Several pools. Free chocolate every day. Wonderful staff. Lots of small spaces, doesn’t feel huge. Marriott points. Private dinning next to the ocean. 3.5 hours. 7 courses. Pricing about $1,000 a couple. Only a few seatings a week. Check that right off the bucket list.

I had the most wonderful massage with Jessica! I have never had a massage that has felt so customized to me! As a dentist, I deal with lots of aches and pains in my back and shoulders, and Jessica used deeper pressure in the tighter areas to get ALL my knots out, and even followed it up with a soothing muscle reliever cream that continued relaxing my muscles. She was so kind and professional and I highly recommend you request her when you visit the incredible Mandara Spa!

Aki went above and beyond for me to get complete Ambassador Elite Experience! I just flew in from Tokyo after work and was up for 24hours I was very jet lagged and grumpy and she made my stay a lot better. She was very patient with my request exceeding my expectations! This is a great 4 Star hotel! But little things I did not like. This is NOT a beach front hotel! It is a 8 minute walk to actual beach with umbrellas. The outdoor activities opens at 8am! It looks like other hotels close by open earlier. In order to get umbrellas you have to check in at this counter. This hotel is better for pools. There are 6 swimming pools total. 1 adult pool, 1 wellness pool, and 4 family pools. Wellness pool minimum charge for day bed is $200! Rainelle Leval gifted my sister Happy Birthday Gift Basket full of fresh fruit and snacks!!!! I definitely recommend getting a Premium Sundeck Room next to the pool you can just lounge at your room after getting out of the pool!

Summary: expensive, not friendly, extremely hot wax to the point of discomfort, stress inducing, didn’t feel comfortable speaking up, ugly nails with sloppy lines, left feeling horrible and in worse condition Wish I could give this place 0 stars. Came to get an upper lip wax and a polish change This combine was 100 dollars which is absurd for the quality I received. To start, the wax was SUPER hot and I told the woman several times which she never fixed. I’ve had many waxings before and this has never been a problem. The lady was just super unfriendly and lethargic in general. She also didn’t get all the hair which was really stupid because what did I pay for then? Basically spent 50 bucks for some idiot to place burning wax on my face. Then for the polish change I was told she could do french tips which is extremely standard for any salon. Nails came out super messy and looked like she painted with whiteout. The also added an extra 15 bucks for the french tips which I was not aware ahead of time. Again why did I pay for this if I’m going to be charged extra? places shouldn’t offer services they clearly can’t do. I would have rather been turned down then sit through this experience.

Today, I had the most exceptional deep tissue massage at Mandara Spa in Maui, all thanks to the amazing massage therapist, Mike. I have visited numerous spas over the years, but my experience at Mandara Spa stands out, largely due to Mike's extraordinary skills and expertise. From the moment I arrived, the calming atmosphere and welcoming staff set the stage for a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. However, it was Mike's masterful touch and the powerful energy he exuded during the deep tissue massage that made this visit truly unforgettable. I'm still feeling the positive effects of the amazing connection we shared throughout the session. Mike's deep tissue massage technique was both effective and precise, targeting all the right spots while ensuring I remained comfortable. His intuition and knowledge of the human body allowed him to address my specific needs, leaving me feeling deeply relaxed and revitalized. In addition to his incredible massage skills, Mike also shared his inspiring knowledge of sound therapy. Though we didn't incorporate sound therapy into the session, his passion and understanding of the subject left a lasting impression on me. I appreciated the opportunity to learn from him, and his insights added an extra layer of depth to the overall experience. If you are looking for an outstanding deep tissue massage and a knowledgeable therapist in Maui, I cannot recommend Mandara Spa and Mike highly enough. He is, without a doubt, the best massage therapist I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I encourage anyone who values exceptional service, skill, and expertise to book a session with Mike.

The food was delicious, the farm to table concept came alive here, offering fresh and local ingredients from around the island. Between the four of us who dined, we shared our food, having the chance to taste more than what we ordered. Highly recommend sharing and here are some highlighted menu options: Grilled Octopus Salad, Coconut Clams, Waygu Hanger, Watermelon Salad (Apps), Risotto, Seared Scallops, Maui Caught Fish (Entrees). We had the most incredible dinner at Ka’ana Kitchen during our honeymoon stay, hands down one of the best meals we’ve ever had. From start to finish, the experience was flawless. Our server John deserves a huge shout-out, he was warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the menu. He made us feel so welcome and guided us perfectly through our selections. His recommendations were spot-on! We ordered the Wagyu steak and the chef’s choice fish, and both were absolutely phenomenal. Every bite was beautifully balanced, rich, fresh, and full of flavor. You can tell the kitchen puts so much thought and care into each dish. The atmosphere was elevated yet relaxed, and it truly captured that Maui magic, intimate, open, and full of aloha. If you’re visiting the island, Ka’ana Kitchen is an absolute must. Thank you again to John and the entire team for making our evening unforgettable! 🌺🍷✨

From the moment we walked in and were greeted warmly by the hostess, we knew it would be a special night. The glow of the small lamps on each table on the patio and the music coming from down below added to the ambiance. Our waiter John had great cocktail suggestions as well as wine pairings with our meal. We started by sharing the Caesar salad with tuna- delish! Then on to the pasta with lobster and over the top lamb shank. Could not finish it all. The manager Matt came by and we appreciated the conversation. Great meal- recommend highly.

Paddle On! Maui offers a great experience for first timers with both Brittany and Peg. They were kind, funny, generous and patient as they helped us enjoy our time on the water. They were more concerned with ensuring we had a good time than worrying about the clock. The tour was full of great local recommendations and they took some amazing photos of all of us during our trip. We would highly recommend Paddle On!
Our family did a private early morning SUP whale watch tour in January with Peg. It was beyond amazing. We got to see a breeding pair of humpbacks who surfaced so close to us while we floated peacefully in awe. Clear instructions, safety measures, and assistance getting in and out of the water made me totally comfortable. Highly recommend this company, experience of a lifetime!

We had a fantastic time on our first kayak adventure because of Paddle On! Maui and especially Peg. She was absolutely amazing and took the best care of us. She went out of her way to get us in last week before our return home. We were unable to keep our original time and day due to an unforeseen issue. She made it happen for us. Peg is a lovely lady and also gave us recommendations of places to eat, things to do, and even where was best to stay. She made this trip amazing for us, and I can't say that enough. I absolutle recommend Paddle On! Maui and Peg for any ocean activity. She is an absolute professional!

From the moment we connected with Peg at Paddle On! Maui, we knew we were in for a treat - and she didn't disappoint! From the ease of registration, the information Peg provided ahead of our scheduled tour, to the awesome instruction, coaching, and guiding she did, we had an absolutely incredible time! During our paddleboarding and snorkeling experience, she kept us safe, informed, and entertained. As she learned more about our skill levels (or lack thereof :) ), she adjusted how she helped each of us in our small group of three get the most out of the experience. After we finished up, she then provided great recommendations on things to do in/around the area, providing a terrific list of restaurants and attractions for consideration. If you are looking for a professional, friendly, informative experience on Maui, rest assured that Peg and Paddle On! Maui will get it done! Thanks Peg, you rock!

This was such an incredible experience! It was my first time on a paddleboard, and I was honestly nervous even to try—but Peg was amazing. She coached me through every step and had me standing before I knew it! The setting was beautiful, and after paddle boarding we went snorkeling and saw so many fish—and even had a turtle swim right underneath us. To top it all off, Peg ended the tour with a surprise “Party on the Ocean,” which was absolutely delightful! An unforgettable morning on the water in Maui and a wonderful confidence boost for someone who’s usually a little scared of the ocean. Highly recommend!

We had a great time with Paddle On! Maui!. We loved having Peg and John as our guides. It was a wavy day in Maui but Peg made it work for us and we all were able to get some paddle boarding in. John continuously entertained our girls on the paddle boards and Peg was a great teacher with all the mechanics. I'm so happy we were able to get it in for our trip because the waves only got stronger at the tail end days of our trip.

Restaurant
Lineage is a casual and modern restaurant that offers a blend of Filipino and Hawaiian family recipes, along with a traveling dim-sum cart. Located in the upscale Shops at Wailea, Lineage stands out for its authentic food and inviting atmosphere. The menu has evolved to include Korean and Chinese flavors, featuring shareable dishes like Korean fried chicken, garlic Szechuan noodles, and wagyu kalbi short rib with roasted bone marrow.
This was one of our first meals in Maui and it was pretty tasty. We got lucky with making same day reservations and got seated rather quickly as they opened. The drinks are tasty here, I went with the Neko, but I think my friends pandan cocktail was really good. The fried chicken and the kimchi clam dip was delicious. The lobster noodles also tasted fantastic.
Tony T — Google review
High hopes met with a big let down! Mediocre food experience in Wailea met with a clumsy night of service. Service: My partner and I had one of the only open reservations at Lineage which was at the bar. I was greeted outside with a friendly face and promptly shown to my seat after being checked in. At the beginning of service a server dropped a glass at the end of the bar. In trying to clean up the shattered glass he dropped a second glass that shattered everywhere. A different server (bartender) dropped our porcelain soup spoon which shattered on the floor as well. This time, I watched the bartender rinse her hand for all of two seconds before making drinks again. I mean, it’s really quite simple - if you touch the dirty floor then wash your hands with soap and warm/hot water for at minimum 30 seconds. It helps prevent customers from getting sick. This did not happen!! During one of the courses my partner was given a clean plate and set of silverware, but this did not happen for any of the other courses. A manager was helping clear a table where a young family with many small kids dropped napkins, and food, all over the floor. The manager put floor napkins onto the table top. One word: gross. A server, yes, did wipe the table down, but used all of a whisper of sanitizer. Why take the risk of transferring germs onto the table and possibly get people sick? Poor practices that are aimed at quick table turnover and do not prioritize safe practices. Upon leaving, you have to exit near the kitchen and a server bustling out of the kitchen nearly crashed into me trying to leave. Whoever designed the restaurant made a mistake by putting the entrance and exit door right by the kitchen. This is a disaster waiting to happen! The hosts said goodbye to me but when my partner came out separately he was totally ignored. Overall, what I’m aiming to point out is the service was clumsy and ensconced with poor health practices. Atmosphere: The indoor dining area is rather intimate. Dim lights, sleek surfaces warmed with a lot of wood tones. The chairs at the bar were comfortable. Keep in mind, the night of my dinner there were several families with small kids, but I found the restaurant to be quite loud. Listening to kids scream and cry throughout service took away from enjoying the venue and dinner. I quickly strolled through one of the art galleries that was still open after my meal. When making my way back I passed by the restaurant to see the host sitting down smoking a vape pen. There’s a lot of little details that just went wrong during my visit. These details make cheapen the experience and feel of the restaurant. Food: I ordered three courses: the ox tail soup, garlic noodles, and fried cauliflower. The food did not resonate with me. I found the presentation of the soup to be wonderful, but lacking balance. The bread was served on a wooden dish that served as a lid for the soup. The broth was incredibly sweet and could have been balanced with some heat. There was a lot of free floating fat in the dish which I did not enjoy with each bite of the oxtail. I did find the meat to be very tender! I feel there was a missed opportunity for a reveal. You have a lid that gets taken off at the table, so it might be a wow moment if the soup was lightly smoked - serving more of an aromatic versus flavor for the soup. The garlic noodles were definitely oozing with garlic flavor, but were rather dry. The tiny bit of sprouts on the top were undetectable once mixed in and added next to nothing to the dish. Again, I feel this course was lacking balance. Garlic without the balance of salt, heat, acid, or fat is one note and boring. The cauliflower was tempura fried on the florets, covered in a curry sauce and topped with what they call a peanut salsa. The tempura batter was everything you’d want it to be - light and crisp. But the rest of the dish fell short. The curry was a mediocre red curry you could find at any average Thai restaurant. Sadly, I would not recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for an upscale meal.
Justin M — Google review
This was our favorite meal on Maui. The crispy cauliflower was incredible- I'd come back and just have this as my entree. It was so crispy and so nice with the melty onions and sauce. A close runner up was the Bird's Nest. I wouldn't have chosen this on my own but my friend ordered it and again, the textures and flavors were memorable. Also on order were the liangban salad, and garlic noodles. Both solid dishes to accompany the aforementioned two. Lineage definitely makes the return visit list.
L — Google review
The food is very good, the freshness of the ingredients elevates the flavor! The crispy cauliflower had a nice crunch and sauce. The oyster mushrooms and vegetables birds nest was amazing, with all the fresh veggies and the curried sauce. The garlic noodles had great flavor. The pandan bread pudding was very rich, and the key lime ice cream was a nice accompaniment which helped cut through the buttery richness of the pudding.

The best restaurant we went to in Maui! The fried chicken (no glaze) was incredible, as well as the garlic noodles. Also the pickles were really well crafted. Would definitely go back!

What a great experience. We sat at the bar and the bartender Elmer was incredibly attentive and a great host. Definitely try a couple of the cocktails. The lobster noodles were insane and so was the cauliflower. 10 out of 10 will be back next time!

Nestled in a stunning tropical landscape, Keawala'i Congregational Church is a historical gem that offers visitors a glimpse into the rich past of the area. Established in 1832, this charming church was initially constructed from pili grass and later rebuilt with durable materials like timber and coral mortar. Its picturesque setting boasts breathtaking views of Molokini Crater, the Pacific Ocean, West Maui Mountains, and Kahoolawe Island.
We shot a micro destination wedding at Keawala`I Congregational church in February. This church is located by the beautiful water with amazing corals - the areal shot could capture their beautiful building, ocean and the mountain backdrop. Both getting ready office building and the church had ample light; especially the church had windows on both sides so it was easy for us to shoot indoors. We had Chinese tea ceremony on the greenery side, and that side of the building had nice shades and cute white framed windows where was perfect for some getting ready shots. We walked to a near by beach to take some photos before the ceremony, and went to Makena cove for the post wedding shots. It’s a perfect church for an intimate wedding like theirs. I truly enjoyed shooting here for both photo and video.

A beautiful church. The grounds are kept immaculately. There are some very old graves here, to go along with the old very well cared for church. Beautiful flowering trees. There was wedding happening while we were visiting, so beautiful ❤️

Mōkapu Beach is a picturesque sandy beach located just north of Ulua Beach in Maui. Despite its proximity to the Andaz Maui resort, it is open to the public and tends to be less crowded than other nearby beaches. Visitors can enjoy activities such as swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing. The beach is easily accessible from the Ulua Beach parking lot and offers amenities like showers and restrooms.
Nice beach with fine sand outside of the Andaz Resort. Rocks on the side but clear center which was great for kids, however, the waves were big enough I was happy the kids had life vests on.

A beautiful beach to relax, and enjoy the great vibes of this island. Any time of the day is good due to great weather. Sunsets are beautiful as well. Night walking on the beach was amazing under bright moonlight and star gazing.
Jay B — Google review
It's a nice beach but there are a decent number of large rocks in and around the beach and in the water. Not really the best water play beach, and there's also a TON of foot traffic. It must be a popular walking beach for residents because it's a non stop parade of people walking back and forth. Can also get windy here. But also at other times it can be deserted. Very pretty beach too with a great view towards West Maui. The south end is a great snorkel spot as it shares the rocky point with Ulua, one of the best snorkeling spots in South Maui.

Calm, clear water in the morning with some of the best snorkeling. Lots of fish and turtles. A short walk from the parking lot and shower facilities. Came at 8 am on a weekday with no one around. By 12 there were lots of swimmers but still pleasant. One of my favorite spots on the west side.

Ulua Beach Park is a picturesque sandy beach with swaying palm trees, making it a popular spot for swimming and bodyboarding. The park offers amenities such as showers, restrooms, and parking. It is known for its excellent snorkeling and swimming areas, with an abundance of tropical fish and green sea turtles near the reefs. Visitors can also enjoy peaceful walks along the shore during sunrise and sunset. Additionally, the beach provides a tranquil atmosphere with relatively fewer crowds compared to other beaches in the area.
Nice beach park with plenty of parking for day use when I visited in the late afternoon on a weekend. Great place to watch the sunset. Nice paved walking trails that you can go pretty far past a lot of nice hotels. Even watch a free luau.

Ulua Beach is an excellent place to snorkel on Maui. We've tried many of the different places over the years ( Black Rock, Ahihi, Turtle Town, Airport Beach, Po'olenalena, MM14, Charley Young Beach, Kam 1-3 and others); Ulua beach is our new favorite. As shown in the picture, there is a large reef ( red circle ) to snorkel along with a distinct edge / drop off where you can see tons of coral, fish, sea urchins ( black, red, zebra striped ) as well as turtles with some regularity. There is public parking ( blue and purple lines ), clean bathrooms, and a nice outdoor shower for rinsing off the salt water. If you are in the Kihei or Wailea area and want to snorkel, this is a great place to do it.

Ulua Beach Park in Maui is a tropical paradise that offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and recreational opportunities. The crescent-shaped beach boasts soft, golden sand and crystal-clear waters, making it an ideal spot for swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing. The marine life here is remarkable; you can spot colorful fish and even sea turtles while snorkeling. The park is well-maintained with picnic areas and showers, making it family-friendly. The scenic backdrop of palm trees and lava rocks adds to the charm. Whether you're a water sports enthusiast or just seeking relaxation, Ulua Beach Park is a must-visit on your Maui itinerary.
Iggy — Google review
A lot of small fishes and baby sea urchins by the rock. If you are lucky, big sea turtle may dhow up too!
MEI W — Google review
Ulua beach is located in Wailea. It is one of the few beaches from the Maui’s west coast were you have a chance to find a parking place in the free parking area near the right side of the beach. I think that this beach is usually used by the tourists that live in the big condos complex nearby having their cars parked in front of the condos. The beach is long (300 meters) and large enough so it is not crowded. The right side is very good for snorkeling but when there are no waves. There is an extended reef about 100 m off the shore, but the water over the reef is shallow and snorkeling could be dangerous even were the waves do not appear to be too big. Also there is a traverse current pushing you to the right towards the emerged rocks that are limiting the right side of Ulua beach. In that day there were disturbing waves so we tried to snorkel only on the left side of the reef were the water was deep enough. We had two rounds of snorkeling (about 2.5 hours in total) but we struggled al the time against the lateral pushing current and it is not quite a peaceful snorkel time. Also the water was not very clear. Not so many fish but an interesting underwater landscape. On my snorkeling marking scale in that day the score for Ulua Beach were 4 from a maximum of 5 point. In good weather conditions it cut be a 4.5 snorkeling area.
Eugen B — Google review
Very nice beach for swimming, lounging and views of Maui. We heard sea turtles can be spotted here but did not see any when we visited. There are some trees for cover from the sun if you need.
Gwynne J — Google review
One of our favorite beaches in Maui. The sand on the West side is very nice, the beach has shade and it is a great place to snorkel as well.

Great snorkelling. The parking lot is large but it does fill up. There are plenty of people coming and going that helps. The rest rooms are clean. The beach is beautiful and the water clear. This beach is safe for all ages with small waves.

We had our wedding on the beach at sunset and this was the perfect place. It was close to our hotel and very quiet. There was plenty of free parking. There are some shaded areas. The sand was very soft and it was a beautiful place to unwind.

The spa's serene atmosphere provides an escape from the bustling Wailea shops nearby. Guests can also enjoy the adult pool and beach area for a tranquil experience amidst the stunning surroundings.
Best spa experience ever!!!! From the moment I walked in to when I left, the atmosphere was so relaxing. All the staff were so helpful and kind, there was always someone there to help if needed and made me feel really welcomed. I got a tour of the facility to get familiar with everything, then given a locker to put my stuff in. I loved the variety of choices in the amenities. In the women’s section, I started off with body scrub while enjoying the rain showers, then to the steam room, next a cold bucket shower and cold mist option, then my very first cold plunge pool experience, a hot tub and then a dry sauna. The co-ed section had a heated salt pool, another larger steam room (Hammam) and an Infrared Light Therapy sauna (which was honestly my favorite sauna/steam room of them all, but it does cost extra and it was so worth it). I also really enjoyed the showers available to rinse off afterwards and the area with multiple vanities to make sure you’re leaving the spa looking your best. I would definitely recommend and certainly plan to go back again!!!!

My sons treated me to a spa afternoon at the Four Seasons on Maui for my birthday, and it was absolutely wonderful! The 80 minute massage by Asia was fantastic! She is strong and intuitive about where I needed. My facial by Lauren was definitely the best one I've ever had!! This spa is definitely worth the status and name associated with The Four Seasons world wide resorts.
Suzanne W — Google review
I want to start by saying that this is reflective of the current state of the spa during renovations. The Good: my wife and I experienced the 80 minute Lomi couples massage, and the experience was amazing. We felt amazing afterwards, and the therapists made sure to verify the right pressure and focus areas before and during the massage. The staff was all super friendly before, during, and after the experience. We enjoyed the wellness juice shot at the end as well. When your eyes are closed, a massage is a massage regardless of the scenery! The OK: the Four Seasons is doing the best with what they have. There’s only so many spaces that can be used during a renovation. We weren’t fully prepared for the “move to the sixth floor” being cleared out hotel rooms. The changing rooms were just completely empty rooms with small stalls to change, the waiting lounge was two conjoined rooms, and the massage room was the same. You get access to Therabody items, though just instructed to look at the user manuals and set them up yourself. The Bad: we were told over the phone that we would have access to a cold plunge and dry sauna. During our experience it was never mentioned or offered. The “waiting lounge” only had three massage chairs. If a couple is using the chairs, another couple is out of luck. The only refreshments were detox water, lukewarm tea, dried fruit, and a trail mix. We deferred our welcome prosecco to after the massage, but we had to ask twice afterwards before any showed up. The experience in addition to the massage, which I’m sure will be lovely when the renovation is done, was severely lacking at the moment. All in all, as guests of the spa who were NOT staying on property, the experience was disappointing. While the massage was as good as we’ve had, we missed out on the experience that usually comes with a massage of this caliber.
Rob B — Google review
Nella my massage therapist was amazing and loved the option of an oceanside massage hale. One star deducted as mentioned in other reviews - aside from showers, relaxation/waiting room and a steam room there are not many other amenities. I was staying at the Four Seasons so I lounged by the pool until 30 min before my appointment but unless you’re seeking air conditioning (or LOVE a steam room), you only need time to check in and change before your appointment.
Mel C — Google review
i used to love the four seasons, but recent experience at the spa for NAD therapy was awful. i was not notified of the major renovations, and that they’d be doing my treatment in a makeshift hotel room / facility. actually, i was told it would be a day of “self-care” with additional free cryotherapy and sauna. no — it was extremely expensive and not a good experience. kind of fee scammed based on what i was told on the phone. highly regret the money spent.
Shannin — Google review
I got a 50 min lomilomi massage and came early to get changed in their robe and slippers. I used their lockers and then waited in the waiting area for my masseuse to come get me. When he greeted me, he was very friendly. He walked me back to the room and explained where to put my belongings and where to hang my robe etc. He left the room then I took my jewelry off, disrobed and lay face down on the massage bed. The room was small, cozy and basic but comfortable for my massage. I specifically asked for louder music as I don’t want to hear steps or air conditioning or people in the hallway… but the music still could have been louder. The massage itself was heavenly, his hands were strong and he took the time to make sure I was comfortable. 50 minutes just isn’t enough! I especially loved the finishing touches of a foot scrub. That was perfection! After my massage, he gave me some water and some Hawaiian snacks. I then went back to the change room and had a nice hot shower and took my time getting ready. Their facilities are beautiful and I wanted to enjoy it as I paid so much for the massage! What a wonderful way to end my trip in Maui!
Mika M — Google review
I absolutely love the Four Seasons Spa. Laura Stephens, Lala as we call her, is my favorite body worker. Plus she’s doing facials now, so it’s an absolutely wonderful blend of face care with body rejuvenation. I leave feeling like a new woman!
Shannon S — Google review
My wife and I honeymooned at FS Maui and got a couples massage. The property is currently under some construction, so our massages took place on the 6th floor is an empty hotel room - and as some other reviews have alluded to, the only real amenities in the actual Spa are steam room and showers (would've loved to have a sauna). All of that being said, the massages were incredible. I fell asleep during mine which, in my opinion, is the highest compliment a masseuse can get. Would go back in a heart beat for another massage!

This was my 2nd time doing the Mermaid Adventure. I took my friend Tom along with me. Our teacher Lowe was amazing!!! She was so nice & fun, we had such a wonderful day! She is really a great swimmer & can hold her breath for a long time, which made it extra beneficial to us because she was under the water taking pictures of us with her GoPro! She helped us on & off with our fins, took beach pictures & paddled us out to the reef so we could see all the pretty fish & even a giant sea turtle. It was also very cool that we were able to hear the whale songs while we were under the water!! Overall, a 100% fabulous day!!! Thank you Lowe!!!🩵🩵

When we signed up for this we were a bit uncertain about whether it would be worth it for the price. But this turned out to be an absolutely wonderful and unique experience!! Our guide Lowe was so attentive to safety but was also very skilled at teaching us what to do and she took tons of amazing photos. My eleven year old daughter said it was her favorite part of our entire trip to Maui. And the photos are an incredible bonus that we will treasure forever along with the memories!

My daughter kept telling me she wanted a mermaid tail to swim with, so when we saw Maui Mermaid Adventures advertised we knew it was the perfect birthday present for our 6 year old little mermaid. Heather was an awesome guide, very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. The location she took us to was beautiful. My daughter was a little nervous at first but in no time she was attempting her own dives and doing saumersaults with her fin. Her success can largely be credited to Heather’s calm, confident approach and ability to create a safe and fun learning environment. As an adult I had fun seeing how far in could down and how long I could swim with the fin. And the pictures turned out awesome! Highly recommend!

After a week in Hawaii seeing and doing amazing things, I was afraid this experience might not be up to par. How wrong I was as this was the most fun thing my 7 and 9 year old did all week! Caitlin was great with the girls, took time to explain, and had a lot of patience. The location was fantastic and again Caitlin was very safe and observant with the girls in the water as they know how to swim but aren’t great swimmers yet. One quit early but it didn’t detract from the other’s experience. Great photos and a lot of them which is always a plus for my wife. She took them snorkeling and they finally got to see a turtle which had been elusive the entire trip to that point. The two hours she spent with the girls allowed us some time to relax and just enjoy the morning. Finally, the value was by far worth it! We had a private lesson with Caitlin in the ocean that was less than our resort was charging for a group class in the pool.

Lila is a beautiful soul. A true mermaid. Her love and connection to the ocean and her passion for the Hawaiian islands is a wonderful treasure to share. Our mermaid swim was spectacular. A perfect day in the bay populated with sea turtles and marine life, the experience of navigating the reef and waters as a mermaid was among the best and most memorable on my visit to Maui. There is nothing like gliding through the pristine Hawaiian waters with the flick of your tail, as a mermaid. The photos of my mermaid swim are ethereal and capture the tranquil beauty and memory of this otherworldly adventure. Thank you Lila. What an amazing experience. Xx

I thought Mermaid Emily was amazing. She checked everyone in, set everyone up with the correct mermaid tail and gave clear instructions, taught about care of the ocean, took pictures of each participant doing various poses or swimming, and taught the participants how to snorkel. The only negative was that there were three women who were there to help and did absolutely nothing; they could have helped speed things along, by signing in the participants, handing out the correct mermaid tail, help to get mermaid tail on and make sure it fit (some needed different sizes). Mermaid Emily did EVERYTHING so it seems she could have been freed up a little to work with the mermaids.

My 7 year old saved up her allowance and purchased this adventure for herself. We can not say enough about how amazing it was! We did a private lesson at Makena Beach and the photos are spectacular (and included!!). The lesson on conservation was much appreciated and my daughter loved snorkeling with the tail on. She is an average swimmer for her age and had no problems with the tail. 100% worth it and I have been recommending it to everyone.

One of the beaches that I love to video call my friends and family from. There are beautiful lava rock formations along the beach, on the far north end of Changs Beach is a semi secluded paradise the locals call Secret Beach. Similar to Little Beach, there may be nude sunbathers soaking in the rays. Plenty of parking inside the gate and often people park outside the gate if they plan to stay after sunset as the gate gets locked by 8pm. There is one porto-poty inside the entrance. The parking lot is all gravel and quite unlevel. There are plenty of trees and greenery all over so you can find shade for all those fair skinned beauties. The sunsets are magnificent and unforgettable at this location. I believe that is what draws the newlyweds and their photographer here daily. Picture postcard perfect.

Mākena State Park is a hidden gem on the leeward side of Maui, offering an idyllic escape for families and beach lovers alike. This stunning park features two main beaches: Big Beach (Oneloa Beach) and Little Beach (Puu Ola Beach). With its expansive stretch of soft sand and gentle waves, Big Beach is perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying breathtaking coastal views.
This is from Big Beach, the park is huge and includes a couple other options if you go a little further down the road. Quick notes for Big Beach: - The water here is no joke, the waves can be quite abusive and the danger signs are not kidding. - The wind was also extremely hard to handle. We learned to stay closer to the hedge line. If you are out on the sand, you are going to be pelted with sand. It's like a human sand blasting zone. - The beach is huge, plenty of space to enjoy and spread out. The back ground and side facing mountains give it a unique landscape. - Not really anything to see snorkeling. Just come for the sunbathing, giant waves and open space.

BIG BEACH: The sand is soft and white, with lots of square footage so it never feels crowded. The waves are generally big which is great for body/boogie boarding but not for anything else. If you haven't gotten slammed by a wave here, you've never experienced Big Beach lol! It's fun to watch the bodyboarders do tricks and catch waves. There are lifeguards on duty now, thankfully. Shade on the sand is non-existent though there are a few tables under the thorny kiawe trees but it's a bit far from the water. LITTLE BEACH: This is more than just a clothing optional beach. It's also home to a growing number of bongo drummers, dancers, and their audience, especially on Sundays when it can get very crowded come the afternoon. Sunset brings cheers and applause. It's very secluded due to difficult access. It's a short, steep hike up a rocky gravel trail with a gorgeous view of Big Beach at the top. The white sand beach is well protected from winds due to the volcanic cone it abuts to. The water is super clear, the sea floor has soft sand and clear of loose rocks. The view is killer! Kahoolawe, Molokini, and Lanai are in plain view. There are 2 reefs on both ends of the beach but snorkeling is not recommended. Waves are normally medium sized but can get pretty big and choppy depending on conditions. It's good for swimming and great for body/boogie boarding. There are no lifeguards here. TIP: The only restrooms are the port-a-potties near the parking lot and there are no showers. OVERALL: Great for boogie/bodyboarding and people-watching.

Aka-Big Beach. Nice beach with lots of room to spread out. When it's windy though, the sand striking your body doesn't feel pleasant. $10 per car + $5 per person to hangout here, it was worth it (there is a pay station that accepts cc's). The surf can be a little rough but certainly manageable for water activity. Bring your snorkel gear, there is coral reef you may want to explore.

A beautiful beach - unfortunately we could spend only 30 minutes as it was on the last day of our trip in Maui. Water was beautiful - good spot for swimming and lifeguards were present. We were fortunate to see a seal. It costs 10$ to park and 5$ per person. Public porta potty restrooms available.

Stunning beach with ultra clear blue water. If you're visiting in the January/ February time, you're almost guaranteed to see humpback whales 1-2 miles off shore. Beautiful place to spend the day and forget about everything

Beautiful beach. Short walk from the parking lot. Porta potties near the parking lot. Currently costs $10 per car and $5 per person to park. You can use the parking app to pay or use the kiosk.

The big beach is gorgeous but the waves there are very strong. It’s good for surfers, but if you want to have a swim, go to the little beach next to it.

Makena State Park offers a stunning stretch of beach with clear blue waters and golden sand. It's a peaceful spot, especially compared to more crowded areas like Kihei. There’s a $10 parking fee and $5 per person entry, but the quiet, expansive beach and beautiful views make it worth it. The waves can be strong, so be cautious, especially with children. Be sure to check out the nearby Little Beach for a more private, clothing-optional experience.

Makena Beach, also known as Big Beach, is a stunning and spacious beach located in Makena State Park on Maui. It is a popular spot for swimming and snorkeling, offering soft white sand and bright turquoise waves. The beach's sheer size and dramatic scenery make it one of the most beautiful places on the island. Despite its powerful shorebreak, which makes it one of the most dangerous swimming beaches on Maui, many people still consider it their favorite year after year.
Makena Beach is a breathtaking spot with golden sand, crystal-clear waters, and powerful waves that demand respect. The beach is spacious, making it easy to find a quiet spot even when it's busy. Lifeguards are on duty, but the shore break can be intense, so swimming isn't ideal for beginners. Parking is paid, but there's some free street parking if you arrive early. Food trucks nearby offer quick bites, but bring water and shade since there's little natural cover. This is a must-visit for those who love dramatic coastal scenery, but caution is key if you're getting in the water.
Shane P — Google review
Beautiful and perfect if you are not a big ocean swimmer and prefer to just lay and watch the waves. Also beautiful for a sunset and/or evening beach photos. If you like to swim in the ocean but afraid of big, aggressive waves, then this may not be the spot for you. The orange flag was waving the day we visited. The lifeguard came over the intercom announcing to be cautious due to previous injuries that include spinal injuries.
Libbi F — Google review
Great beach to go to. Take a chair and umbrella to sit and a nice long beach to walk. There is also places for shade. Take your food and drinks. Nothing there to buy.
Lucinda D — Google review
As the name suggests, Big Beach is very spacious, around 0.5 miles long. The sand is soft and great for relaxing. Swimming can be done as well, but only in the right conditions. This beach is known for creating huge, unexpected waves, so only intermediate to strong swimmers should be swimming here.

Makena Beach in Maui is hands down the most beautiful beach I've ever visited. The moment you set foot on the soft, white sands, you're immediately struck by the pristine, untouched beauty of this natural paradise. The beach stretches out seemingly endlessly, offering plenty of space to find your own little slice of heaven. The waters at Makena Beach are simply incredible. Crystal clear and a stunning shade of turquoise, they invite you in for a swim that’s both refreshing and invigorating. The gentle waves make it perfect for swimming, whether you're a seasoned swimmer or just looking to wade in and enjoy the cool water. On a sunny day, the water sparkles like a thousand diamonds, making it almost impossible to resist. The surrounding scenery is equally breathtaking. Lush green vegetation provides a picturesque backdrop, and the distant view of the other Hawaiian islands adds to the sense of tropical paradise. The beach is well-maintained, and its natural beauty is preserved, creating an unspoiled haven for visitors. What made my time at Makena Beach truly special was the overall atmosphere. It’s serene and peaceful, allowing you to completely unwind and soak in the natural beauty. Whether you’re swimming in the clear waters, lounging on the soft sands, or simply taking a leisurely stroll along the shoreline, every moment at Makena Beach feels like a dream. Overall, Makena Beach offers an unforgettable experience with its pristine waters, white sands, and breathtaking scenery. It’s the perfect spot for swimming, relaxing, and enjoying the incredible natural beauty of Maui. I can’t recommend it enough – Makena Beach is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Amazing beach! Super clear water, soft sand, some shade from the trees, pretty empty with only a few people around. The waves are big! No joke! So be careful going in & out of the water. I saw a few people snorkeling further out & some people surfing. The state park has a $10 parking fee but we drove a bit past the parking lot & parked on the side of the road for free. This beach is super chill & relaxing & was one of our favorite beaches in Maui! Definitely check it out

Rough beach with strong waves and on-duty lifeguards. Best enjoyed from the shore unless you're a strong swimmer. The sunsets are spectacular! One can also park outside the beach entrance as there are many spots.
Aaditya P — Google review
It’s a nice beach, less crowded and lot of room to tent/relax. Not a safe one to swim and have fun in water. Just a second you might end up in serious spinal cord or neck injuries. Make sure to read the warning sign in the beach entrance, it lists everything you might see/experience. There’s paid parking that includes your entrance fee as well, no shower in the beach so plan accordingly. Sunset is beautiful.

Amazing must-do experience! This was a super fun experience and perfect for all ages. We went with our young kids and our 80 year old parents. Everyone loved it. We actually even came on the wrong day and they were so kind and still took us out! Captain and crew were very informative and we saw lots of beautiful fish on the reef. We will definitely do it again. I highly recommend checking them out.

Nick and crew were great for our snorkeling trip. It was a three hour trip and in the three hours 1 hour of actual snorkeling which was plenty. Provided lunch and drinks while on the boat as well as equipment. On the way to the snorkeling spot Nick talked about the fish you could see while out there and answered any questions you may have. Kainalu was out in the water while snorkeling to make sure all participants were safe. Amazing time and staff.

I truly loved experiencing whale watching with Ocean sports so much so I went twice in 3 days!! They are truly stellar professionals and their team are all just so warm and wonderful. I had such a great time learning about whales from DJ and having some unexpected early am boozy mai tai’s from Tyler. They respect the whales and never impact their natural behaviors yet they get you to see all the great stuff happening out on the waters. You also get to hear the whales with their hydrophone. Truly spectacular outfit and the boat is clean and fully stocked with all beverages and nice snacks. Book with them and expect a memorable time!

Maluaka Beach, also known as Turtle Town, is a popular destination in south Maui. It's famous for its Hawaiian green sea turtles and abundant marine life. The beach offers soft sand, calm blue waters perfect for snorkeling, and restrooms for visitors' convenience. The shallow reefs with small sea caves are the favorite resting spots for turtles, making it a great place to spot them.
Loved the ease of access to a nice and quiet beach. Came here on a Tuesday morning and snorkeled with sea turtles and colorful fish. The trees provided a nice balance of shade and sun for those looking for both options for the different folks in your group. We got lucky and snagged a great street parking spot near the drop off loop which made it easy to carry our beach gear to the beach.

Beautiful almost private beach. There are 2 entrances to the beach. North side has limited street parking and drop off point. South side has parking and walkway to the beach. Also Restroom and Showers located on the south side. North and south side are connected via walkway of the hotel. Great place to watch sunset. Soft white sand all throughout. Snorkeling reefs on the north side.

Very cool little beach. Not nearly as crowded as other beaches nearby. Offers great snorkeling, sunbathing and some shade is also available. Only 4 parking spots at drop off point. However there is public parking a block up the hill across from the church with public restrooms. Its a very short 1 min walk to beach. Its best to drop your stuff at the drip spot, park car and walk down. Sandy beach is 50 yards from drop spot. Aloha!

Oneloa Beach, also known as Big Beach or Makena, is a laid-back 1/4 mile long stretch of sandy paradise on Maui. It offers reefs for snorkeling and occasional big surf conditions. The beach is the largest continuous stretch on the island, with narrow roads leading to three parking areas at both ends and one in the middle.
One of the best beaches in Hawaii. It is absolutely beautiful and you must respect the waves! Visitors, the water is not safe for small children or inexperienced swimmers. If the waves are big please stay out of the water. Great place to spend the day enjoying the sunshine and beauty of Maui.

Beautiful beach but as one other reviewer put it, you must respect the waves. Be careful with children! Maui Hands - Lahaina is a charming consignment shop and gallery in Lahaina, featuring an exquisite selection of Hawaiian handicrafts, primarily sourced from Maui. Visitors have raved about the welcoming atmosphere and knowledgeable staff who are well-versed in the artists' work. The unique and beautiful items available make for perfect gifts or personal mementos, with patrons praising the excellent communication and service even after returning home.
Such a cute shop with very nice pieces of jewelry! The necklace that I bought was made by a local artist with freshwater pearls knotted with nylon in between.

Great selection of items at affordable prices. I didn’t plan it this way but the Lee Oululani Plevney bowl I bought from the shop is the perfect compliment to the dwarf schefflera Hawaiian lava plant I bought next door at Dan’s Green House. The grooves in the pottery and the root structure of the bonsai flow nicely together. Now I will have a little piece of Hawaii sitting in my desk.

Very nice people, beautiful selection of hand made crafts and jewelry. I bought a fish hook necklace while on vacation here and a couple months later part of the string came apart. I emailed them about it, they offered to have it repaired or send a similar item in replacement. I picked the replacement and they sent it quickly. Excellent communication and service from being in the store to being 2500 miles away. Highly recommended.

Wonderful little shop in Lahaina! We went in one day before closing and looked around, then came back the next day because we kept thinking about a few pieces we just had to have. The shop was so welcoming, and the employees were extremely knowledgeable on the artists' work in the store. We picked up some gifts for family (and a few things for ourselves too 😁) The items in this shop were unique, unlike things I saw in any of the other shops.

Oneuli Beach, also known as the black sand beach, is a picturesque and sparsely visited gem located in Makena State Park. The dark brown sand, formed from ground lava rock, offers a unique contrast to the clear waters and volcanic red hill of Puu Olai towering over the area. While not as crowded as its neighboring beaches, Oneuli Beach provides excellent opportunities for swimming and snorkeling on calm days.
A small, secluded beach with unique blackish sand. There’s no entry fee, but it’s not ideal for swimming due to the many rocks. It’s a favorite spot for locals, who often relax here with their pickup trucks.

Super beautiful black sand beach! More like dark red spotted sand but beautiful regardless. Didn’t snorkel or anything, just walked around and it was still breathtaking.
Tina C — Google review
Very soft sand and not crowded at all! Some small annoying flies in the afternoon. Saw a shark and a seal. Definitely worth a visit!
Josh C — Google review
Not a top beach spot so it’s not very crowded. Seems to be more of a locals spot. Sand is red and black. The cliff in the background is all red lava that’s slowly crumbling away. My son and I hiked up the ridge to the left. I’d suggest NOT doing this. The lava is extremely sharp and In some spots it’s unsafe to step on because it crumbles away underneath your step. Other parts were slippery from being wet. We saw lots of fish and turtles in the water.
David R — Google review
Oneuli Beach is a hidden gem just a short drive from Kihei, and it’s definitely worth a visit. The sand isn’t as dark as Waianapanapa, but it still has that unique black-sand charm, making it a beautiful spot to explore without the longer drive. There’s a great hike right next to the beach that offers stunning views and a chance to enjoy Maui’s landscape from a different angle. We loved the quieter vibe here – it felt like a peaceful retreat. It’s a bit of an adventure to find, with a short drive down a dirt road and through an unmarked gate, but that just adds to its charm. If you’re looking for a mix of scenery, solitude, and a nearby hiking option, Oneuli is a fantastic spot to spend a day.
Tyler — Google review
This was such a beautiful secluded beach. Not crowded at all. Entry point is easy to miss — small little turn-off from main road and parking is very limited. There is quite a bit of distance between parking lot and the shore — sand can get extremely hot, so I would bring thick sole shoes. If you plan to swim, some parts of the water are rocky and small urchins were hidden in little caverns of large flat rocks that you can stand on — would recommend water shoes.
Nicole P — Google review
Unique, beautiful, and charming beach off the beaten path. Beautiful sand. Amazing at sunset. Private and not busy at all. No lifeguard, so possibly not a swimming beach for weaker swimmers. One of the most beautiful hidden beaches! I expected it to be more crowded because it is close to the major tourist area, but there was hardly anyone there when we went. I have always been amazed by the talented artists that are attracted to Bootzie's Enchantress Gallery. The gallery itself is filled with vibrant and lively artwork, featuring brilliant colors and textures. While walking through The Shops of Wailea, I was drawn into the magic of the Enchantress Gallery. It had been a while since my last visit, but this time I noticed that local artist Beck had recently completed a surfboard that was still wet.
I’ve always been amazed by the talented artists Bootzie’s attracts to her Enchantress Gallery. The space is just so vibrant and alive! The colors and textures are just brilliant. This evening while strolling The Shops of Wailea I was drawn in to experience the magic. It had been awhile from my last visit. Local artist Beck had just finished a super cool surfboard that was still wet. On Wednesday artists create their work right out on the lanai. So happy to see Bootzie’s Enchantress Gallery thriving 🌺

I’ve been wrestling for days to put my thoughts and emotions into words, after our most recent purchase of two incredible pieces from the Enchantress and Freeborne Gallery. My husband, Tom, and I are, by no means, connoisseurs of art, but we are both creatives, and are pulled toward what spiritually moves us. We were drawn into the gallery by the stunning koa paddle in the display, painted by Artist Walfrido Garcia. Once inside, we were enveloped in an emotional Wonderland of unique and stunning pieces of art; each one with its own transcendental pull towards something greater than us. We walked away with the paddle and a painting by up-and-coming Cuban Artist Perez Navarro, from his “New Horizons” collection. The image of a young girl, carrying what felt like the weight of the world on her shoulders captivated me, personally. I instantly recognized myself in the defiance in her eyes. She spoke to me in ways I cannot yet explain. As a sister, who lost my one and only sibling, along with her entire family to horrific drunk driving crash nearly seven years ago, I felt akin to this young woman. Grief and trauma are the most violent and vicious of dragons that we will encounter in our lifetimes. They can destroy you, or forge you in their fire. We don’t know if this young girl in the painting is real, or if she was born from Navarro’s imagination, but she is as human to me as anyone I have ever met. I simply could not walk away from her. It felt like walking away from myself. We also can’t say enough great things about Kristin, the gallery manager, who helped us with our purchase. She was present and patient, as we mulled over our purchase. Having someone, like her, sit with our heavy grief and walk us through the purchase process was everything to us. She was both a trusted guide and exceptional professional. We both feel like we have made a new friend. Tom and I can’t say enough about the gallery, our experience, and how overwhelmed and overjoyed we are with our purchase. Thank you for everything. And, most of all, we extend our deep gratitude for helping this grieving sis find a piece of home - and a piece of her heart - in your exquisite gallery.

Great gallery and wonderful artists come and work on their art on site! I was visiting Wailea and had the pleasure of running into this gallery that had Walfrido and his brother Dean Garcia painting as we walked in. They were gracious enough to let us watch in awe for as long as needed to make my 5 year old daughter see an artist in action. In the end, she was making her own paint marks of the Twin Falls piece. Forever grateful for this memory which will live in our hearts forever. Mahalo to Bootzie for hosting such a fun night and the beautiful Bootzie oils!

This mixed media gallery features world class artists from the islands and around the world. They feature fine art original oil paintings , blown glass, bronze and beyond. Enchantress Gallery also celebrates the wearable arts with hand crafted jewelry, the famous "Bootzie Oil" perfumes and exotic silk goddess wear. A truly unique shopping experience. A MAUI MUST SEE !

I have been a customer of Enchantress Gallery for years and before that I was a patron of her two clothing stores. She has the most wonderful fun environment. I have several pieces of Jewelery from her place. I have two pieces of her Jewelery and she is a very accomplished artist. They carry unique pieces of Art and Jewelry that you won’t find elsewhere.
