Hotel
Nestled in the picturesque Many Glacier area of Glacier National Park, Many Glacier Hotel offers a rustic yet comfortable retreat with no-frills rooms and an upscale restaurant. The hotel is located on the stunning Swiftcurrent Lake, surrounded by breathtaking scenery and abundant wildlife. While some parts of the hotel are undergoing renovation, visitors can still enjoy the serene ambiance and scenic views during their stay.
Wow the view…Many Glacier Hotel is honestly a hidden gem! Buried in the Glacier National Park it has amazing views, coupled with exceptional hotel hospitality! Our bellman were amazing -no elevators so they carried luggage up and down those stairs! The staff was welcoming and our check in was a breeze! The food sadly was not my favorite, the walls were very thin, but the beds were comfortable, but it is an old hotel and the quaint and beauty lies within the walls! Take the boat ride very informative and it helps cut time on the hike! I would definitely stay here again but it just needs some up keep to help with maintaining this beautiful gem!

Beautiful stay. This is a historic hotel, so funky shower knobs, extremely thin walls and doors, etc. were par for the course. The location is unbelievably pretty. We snagged a one night cancelation in the last night this hotel was open in 2025. We thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant, the duck leg was incredible at dinner. We had great hikes to Grinnell and Iceberg lake. Would love to stay here again.
Caroline K — Google review
Many Glacier Hotel, nestled in Glacier National Park, offers breathtaking lake and mountain views with a classic Swiss chalet charm. The historic lodge boasts cozy rooms, a grand lobby, and easy access to top hiking trails like Grinnell Glacier. While the rooms are simple and lack modern amenities (no TVs or Wi-Fi), the atmosphere and scenery more than compensate. The staff is friendly, and the dining options are solid, though pricey. Overall, it’s a perfect retreat for nature lovers seeking a rustic, unplugged experience surrounded by stunning alpine beauty.
Rahat C — Google review
This hotel is in heart of the National Park. It's pricey relatively, but you save yourself 30 minutes from having to drive from outside the park to inside. There are a few trails from the hotel so you literally just wake up and walk out. There are couple of restaurants: normal and fancy-normal with prices being $25 (or more) and $35 (or way more). Food is enjoyable and wouldn’t herald it as amazing for the price but still enjoyable. There are 2 refillable water stations around the main lobby. There are locals and immigrants who work the hotel, so it's pretty great in that regards. The basement has a convenient store for snacks (closes mid evening so pre-9pm) and lodging is on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floor. No TVs anywhere b/c why do you need it -- although WIFI is nice. It's basically a LARGE 3-story cabin with a fire in the middle of the lobby. It gets chilly at night (50-60s) so with the park being open from June-Oct, have a sweater at night. There's a grand piano in the lobby that some people can play. Down the hall is another untuned piano so if you aren't skilled, you can jam on that one too.
Justin L — Google review
The hotel is great—as long as you don’t expect modern comfort. Many Glacier Hotel is a historic site with more than 100 years of history. Staying here really feels like living inside history itself. The grand lobby, the rustic Swiss chalet style, and the astonishing lake view are unforgettable. If you can, book a higher-level room for an even better experience. That said, be prepared: it can also be a really rough stay. When the sun rises, the hotel turns into a hive of activity. Many guests leave early for hiking, which means I was woken up at 3 a.m. by kids running in the room above me. Every sound carries through—showers, toilets flushing, even parents yelling at kids to hurry up. It felt like a live show right above my ceiling. And just when things quieted down, my next-door neighbor started their morning routine. In short: the views and history are five stars, but the noise and comfort level are closer to two. Come for the experience and the scenery, not for a good night’s sleep.
Frye S — Google review
Stunning hotel in a stunning location. Walls are thin but if you put in a good day of activity, you won’t hear a thing. Friendly staff and the food is decent. Many options for buying alcohol not in bars. Mornings on the deck are phenomenal as are evenings. Nice gift shop and snack shop. Dinners were very good but the breakfast was average.
Paul W — Google review
The common areas are lovely and the views are epic. The majority of the service team were delightful, but they seem to be severely understaffed. I couldn't get into my room until after check-in time and every time I passed through the lobby there was someone at the desk complaining about a valid issue (more than one bride even, which def isn't ideal for a wedding day). There was also a mouse running around my room the next morning for about 10 minutes before it finally found a way out. Not a great way to start your day (even though I felt bad for the poor, scared critter). I reported this to the less than friendly man working at the front desk when I checked out, he said "oh, we'll set a trap then". No apologies, no "oh yikes how can we make this right?". I'd expect more from a hotel that's $300+ a night. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless it's strictly for the convenience of being able to access the Many Glacier hikes. Once the camping is open again (post construction) I'd legit rather just pay for a campsite and sleep in my car than stay here again. Hopefully they can staff up for next season and perhaps this was just a result of Many Glacier being at the end of their season and having lost staff members along the way?
Becky P — Google review
5 STARS ALL AROUND! This hotel was absolutely incredible. My husband and I planned a last-minute trip and were lucky enough to snag a cancellation. It’s perfectly located—surrounded by some of the best hikes, all within walking distance. The views were breathtaking, and we truly didn’t want to leave. We’re already excited to come back!

Mountain pass

Logan Pass is a breathtaking 6,646-ft.-elevation pass on the Continental Divide, offering stunning mountain views and featuring a visitor center. The Hidden Lake Trail starts at the Logan Pass Visitor Center and takes hikers through diverse terrain, from forested areas to alpine meadows teeming with wildlife and colorful wildflowers. The trail leads to the iconic Hidden Lake Overlook, where visitors can admire Bearhat Mountain towering over the twinkling alpine blue lake.
🌄 Breathtaking Beauty at Logan Pass! 🌄 Logan Pass is truly the crown jewel of the Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park! The drive itself is spectacular, but reaching Logan Pass feels like arriving in a whole different world. Towering peaks, lush alpine meadows, and sweeping vistas in every direction — it’s picture-perfect at every turn. The Hidden Lake Overlook trail is a must-do if you visit. It’s a relatively short hike with incredible rewards: wildflowers, mountain goats, and panoramic views that make you stop and just take it all in. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, so get there early or take the shuttle — it’s absolutely worth it. Whether you’re here for a scenic drive, wildlife spotting, or hiking, Logan Pass delivers a truly unforgettable experience. Don’t miss it!
Pratik R — Google review
Beautiful area for hiking and sightseeing! Driving is a little steep and road is narrow. Parking is hard to get in the day time.
Julian M — Google review
What a PLACE!!! Absolutely stunning. Be sure to plan ahead and get the right passes. You need a pass to access the road and parking fills up fast. But the gorgeous hikes, views and wildlife sightings are unlike any others. It’s worth it to get up there early and watch the sunrise!
Rachel R — Google review
The short (about 3 miles round-trip) hike captures the majestic beauty of Glacier NP. More often than not, Bearhat Mountain & Hidden Lake are graced by the iconic mountain sheep with pure white coats. The toughest part of the trip is finding a parking spot at Logan Pass. Best plan is get to Logan Pass before sunrise or simply roll the dice. One plan is drop one couple off, return in 1.5 hours, and second couple takes the hike and pictures.
Lester K — Google review
Have visited a few times. Incredible views at Logan Pass which is about 6,400'. Trails here a little strenuous yet if you take your time, you'll likely find it was worth it. Since the park is open 24/7, we came back at midnight and took some cool night sky pictures. No light pollution at all. Glacier National Park is a splendid awe-inspiring view of nature at it'la finest.
D Z — Google review
Beautiful area. If you don’t want to fight for parking you need to arrive EARLY. Arrived at 6:30am got one of the last parking spots.
April C — Google review
A must-see on Going to the Sun road in Glacier. Very, very busy area though and we could not find parking anywhere around the Pass which was disappointing.
Christine V — Google review
There's no parking, too many mountains, the roads feel unsafe, the trails feel unsafe, it smells like DS, Devon kept marching ahead and wouldn't slow down, my knee hurts...2 stars

Bodies of Water
Lake McDonald, the largest lake in Glacier National Park, is a picturesque alpine lake that offers various activities such as kayaking and canoeing. The surrounding mountains provide a stunning backdrop for landscape photography during sunrise or sunset, with the calm waters of the lake reflecting the vibrant colors of the sky. Additionally, it's a popular spot for fishing and hiking to nearby attractions like Hidden Lake and Avalanche Lake.
Beautiful! We loved taking out a motorboat on this lake! Another time we did kayak/SUP. And we also liked to come eat some huckleberry ice cream and sit out on the benches to watch the sunset over the lake
Leah P — Google review
Beautiful lake, super clear water when the wind isn't making waves. The rocks have amazing colors. There are many different turnout spots where you can walk down and see the lake. It has great swimming opportunities as well as beaches to just lay and relax in the sun. I would recommend taking time to stop and walk down to the water for a better view when looking for a great reflective shot.
Jason D — Google review
An extremely beautiful spot! We came here as our last stop on the way out of the park. There weren’t a lot of people, the views were amazing, and the sound of the water was peaceful. A great view of the mountains with the lake and colorful rocks
Maham B — Google review
I have too many pictures of this lake from my trip. It’s beautiful, quiet during sunrise/sunset times and there are a plethora of areas to pull off at and take pictures!
Nicole P — Google review
Amazing views. Super clear water. Not too crowded when I was there but definitely could be during peak season as the beach is pretty small. Brought my inflatable kayak. All watercraft must be inspected and tagged by NPS before being allowed on the lake
Daniel A — Google review
Stunning mountains and crystal clear water. The rocks along the shore are beautiful multicolored. The lake is easily accessible, with several pull off. It's a very short drive from West Park Entrance.

Campground
Two Medicine Campground is a picturesque camping site located in Glacier National Park. It offers around 100 sites, including 10 for RVs, along with amenities such as restrooms and a store. The campground is situated amidst the breathtaking wilderness of the park, providing access to stunning natural features like evergreen forests, glacier lakes, and snowcapped peaks. Visitors can embark on a scenic 50-mile drive that winds through the national parkland, offering panoramic views and opportunities for wildlife sightings.
Absolutely stunning views! Perfect spot to dip your toes into the lake. We went on opening weekend and although it was crowded we still really enjoyed our campground and hanging out on the lake. Bonus gift shop with small coffee shop/breakfast options.
Caitlin B — Google review
Nice campground and base for a couple days of exploring and hiking in eastern Glacier National Park. Clean bathrooms. Some of the campsites can be a little tight so pay attention to descriptions when booking. Good hiking right out of campsites. Short hike up to store/cafe on lakeshore. Options for boat tours.
The Y — Google review
Fantastic campground! Everything in Glacier is beautiful and wonderful. Two Medicine has its own charm as it's less busy and a little more laid back than other campgrounds like Many Glacier. Sheep with their babies come down into the campground from the mountain to eat daily, they walk right by you very comfortably.
Jonathan J — Google review
Beautiful campground in a great location of the park. Just got back from a Montana Wyoming trip. Stayed 2 nights at glacier, first at fish creek and second at two medicine. Two medicine was by far our favourite site. There’s a pretty lake right beside the campground with clean swimming water and a great view. We preferred staying on east side of the park because driving on going to the sun road from east to west is prettier. Sites don’t have individual bear lockers. There are communal bear lockers around the campground. We stored food in our car for this reason.
Will M — Google review
Not big rig friendly and there is a low bridge getting to road that reads 12.8 FYI for some RVers. This is the most beautiful place if youre lucky to spend a day or two here to go hiking the many trails around these Two Medicine Lakes. You will enjoy the views all around. General store near boat ramp has some ready made food items and souvenirs etc. The boat trip takes you to other side of lake and lets you out for a guided hike short to two falls.
Jojo G — Google review
This is one of the best campground we’ve been to. It is serene, peaceful and so close to nature and wildlife. We truly enjoyed our stay here and would love to come back again!
Su P — Google review
Beautiful spot! Great place to fish and paddle. We caught a ranger talk on apex predators, and while it was certainly child-focused, we learned quite a bit! Great trailheads nearby. The bathrooms were in pretty good shape too.

Hiking area
The Trail of the Cedars Nature Trailhead is a popular 1-mile loop trail known for its towering red cedars, lush ferns, and easy accessibility. It offers a scenic walk through impressive trees such as Western Red Cedar, Black Cottonwood, and Western Hemlock. The trail is wheelchair-accessible and not very challenging, making it suitable for all skill levels. It traverses alongside Avalanche Creek before reaching the picturesque Avalanche Lake.
The boardwalk is very well maintained, and the trail is surrounded by magnificent cedar trees, with the gentle sound of running water accompanying us along the way. It feels so relaxing and freeing to immerse yourself in nature like this — how beautiful life truly is.
ML — Google review
This is a super easy hike for young kids. The path is elevated and gives great views of the Cedars. Be careful of others and the drop off from the walking path to the ground. It’s a few feet.
Kyle M — Google review
The trail of the cedars is a great short trail that is level and suitable for everyone. One half of the loop is served by a fantastic boardwalk through the trees and ends at avalanche creek gorge. We liked that better than the other half of the loop (which was gravel) so we doubled back on the boardwalk. The boardwalk is very nice for wheelchair access as well so would recommend using the boardwalk for that.
Jim H — Google review
Beautiful nature hike! There was a plethora of berries and mushrooms to see. We saw lots of wildlife, including a grizzly bear, so be very cautious and carry bear spray! It's an easy hike and a great one for kids.
Sean F — Google review
Perfect walking path for people of all ages and fitness levels. Some of the cedars and other trees along this walking path have been around for decades if not a century. Great way to step into the canopy of Glacier National Park.
Lisa F — Google review
Quite an easy hike to find hemlock ,cedar ,rocky maple and poplar , to have a better view from.above if the cedar creek can can up about 5 mins walk using a bit of Avalance lake trail ., there is flowing riiver over your right .Once done can enjoy another picnic side by the river ,behund the rest room opposite the road.
Muhfaziah M — Google review
Very popular spot in the park. Extremely easy and quick loop unless youre planning on going to avalanche lake like we did. Parking lot is full after 7am and you will have to wait for a space
Erik C — Google review
This is a beautiful trail that you can access near Avalanche lake On the going to the sun road Period there are Bathrooms available before the start of a Wood or dirt Trail. There is a larger vehicle turnaround area that some confused for larger vehicle parking. There's parking by the bathroom and just passed also when going East. Nice trail for all ages and abilities

Indoor lodging
Lake McDonald Lodge is a charming lakefront accommodation that offers a variety of lodging options, including hotel rooms, dorms, and cottages. Built in 1913, the lodge is situated on the eastern shore of Lake McDonald and features 82 guest rooms spread across the main lodge, cabins, Snyder Hall, and Cobb House. Guests can enjoy dining at Russells Fireside Dining Room and Jammer Joes Grill and Pizzeria or relax at Luckes Lounge or Creekside Reading Room.
Fantastic stay here! Entire staff was wonderful to us. We were welcomed like “royalty” by the bellman, and the front desk employee. Gorgeous decor in lobby— hand painted lamps hanging from vault beamed ceiling( so beautiful and authentic) atmosphere very rustic— just like we hoped for! Our dinner in the mail dining room was so delicious— we just complimented our server like crazy about the taste of our dinner. We ate the local fish, and our dessert was huckleberry pie— so fresh and homemade. Excellent gift shop appearance and selections. We love to shop. Our evening boat tour of lake McDonald was peaceful and loved seeing the multiple bald eagles. We also loved kayaking the lake for several hours. I just cannot say enough great things about our time in the McDonald lodge. We can’t wait to come back!
Renee E — Google review
I both stayed in the cabins, and ate at the restaurant. The cabins are small but the bathrooms are a decent size. The restaurant is excellent, with a wide variety of food at a very reasonable prices for the location. There is a fantastic view of lake McDonald, which you may be able to enjoy, depending on which table you get in the dining room. The service staff here is excellent, providing attentive service and is very quick.
Francis I — Google review
I have been to the cabins at McDonald Lodge in Glacier National Park and they were decent for what they are. They’re not luxury accommodations by any means, but considering the remote location and the fact that you’re in the middle of a national park, they get the job done. The cabins were clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The beds weren’t amazing, but they were fine after a long day of hiking. The bathrooms were basic but functional, and the overall setup felt like a step above camping while still keeping you close to nature. What made it worth it was the location… just steps from Lake McDonald, with easy access to trails, boat rentals, and the lodge restaurant. It was quiet at night, and we were able to sit outside and enjoy the stars without much noise around us. If you’re expecting high-end finishes or a hotel-style experience, you might be disappointed. But if you’re looking for a simple, convenient place to sleep that keeps you inside the park and close to everything, it’s a good option. Not the best I’ve stayed in, but not terrible either… I’d stay again just for the location.
Advantage K — Google review
Did not personally stay here, but have stayed at a few other NP lodges and this one seemed no different! Super cool rustic building that has a distinct national park feel. Not necessarily 5 star hotel but that's also not really what your going for in a national park anyway! Location is incredible, and the views out the back make everything well with it!
Dan S — Google review
This place is a great start to a vacation. The rooms and buffet are not that entertaining but it forces you to get out and explore. Very rustic feel, the views are great and the environment is beautiful. Service here was very great and the staff are very kind. Would come back to stay.
Darien — Google review
The location of Lake McDonald Lodge is absolutely unbeatable. Sitting right on the shore of the lake, it offers incredible views and immediate access to one of the most beautiful parts of Glacier National Park. Waking up to that scenery is something truly special. The staff deserve a lot of praise — every interaction we had was warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful. They clearly care about making guests feel welcome. That being said, the lodge is definitely showing its age. While the historic charm is part of its appeal, the rooms and beds are in real need of investment. The mattresses are worn, the furnishings feel tired, and the overall room setup could use an update to make overnight stays more comfortable, especially given the price point. For many guests, a good night’s sleep is just as important as the scenery, and this is an area where the lodge could make a big impact with some improvements. Another consideration is how busy it gets. During our stay, the lodge felt extremely crowded, and at times it seemed like they are struggling to balance the needs of overnight guests with the large number of visitors who just come to look around. This can take away from the sense of peace you might expect from such a beautiful setting. The boat dock is located directly in front of the lodge. While it’s convenient for tours, it does detract a little from the otherwise serene lakeside view. Parking is another challenge — the lot is small, fills up quickly, and can make arrival or day trips more stressful than they should be. Overall, Lake McDonald Lodge is worth visiting for its location and wonderful staff. However, guests should be prepared for crowds, parking challenges, and rooms that feel more rustic than comfortable. With some investment in the rooms and beds, this could easily become not just a beautiful place to stay, but one that delivers a truly top-tier lodging experience in Glacier National Park.
Katharina R — Google review
Stunning view... but $330 a night. I can't believe I paid that much. No air conditioning and it was probably 80 while trying to sleep. There wasn't hot water in the shower. Front desk said the hookups are backwards. I tried that and it was barely warm. No mini fridge or microwave. Remember... $330 for 1 night.
Scott S — Google review
Lake McDonald lodge is an historic lodge that sits on the shore of Lake McDonald and is located right on the Sun Road. The lodge offers beautiful views and inviting surroundings. The location is close to great hikes and there's lots of options for food. We stayed in a wonderful cabin which was very comfortable and quaint plus we had fans to cool the room. The staff was attentive and welcoming and we loved staying here. I would highly recommend booking a room or cabin just to experience the uniqueness of this hotel.

Grinnell Glacier is a famous and often photographed glacier in Glacier National Park. It's located in the Many Glacier area, which is known for its popular hikes such as Iceberg Lake, Grinnell Glacier, the Highline Trail, Swiftcurrent Falls, and Avalanche Lake. The trail to Grinnell Glacier Viewpoint is a challenging 5.6-mile hike one way or a 3.
Absolutely beautiful and definitely worth the hike. It’s been my best hiking experience yet! The views on the way to the glacier were stunning, and I was lucky enough to spot a mountain goat and a moose along the way
Chanda D — Google review
This was absolutely stunning. It was a little tricky at the beginning. Beautiful trail with stunning wild flowers as soon as you start your hike then incline with switchbacks were pretty rough. We hiked at our own pace and took a few breaks. Then the views were breathtaking all the way up. Then the end was all worth it!
Yvette W — Google review
Highly recommend! The trail is better than the destination in my opinion. Beautiful views the entire way especially when you arrive at the parking area at 5 am and start the hike at 6 am to catch the morning alpine glow. The parking lot was mostly empty at 5 am but filled up quickly. The glacier area is peaceful; however, if you've seen bigger and better glaciers than Grinnell is anticlimactic. The hike is moderate purely for the distance.

A gorgeously scenic 21km trek with an amazing up close view of the glacier.
Shanti S — Google review
I’ve hiked this trail 5 times now. This is a tough hike, especially the last half mile, but worth it for the absolutely stunning views! The first 2 miles around the lake isn’t bad but once you start the Glacier trail it’s nothing but up with very few switchbacks. PROS: You get to be close to a glacier. You get dozens of different angles of a glacial lake as you hike up. You will probably see wild life. Big horn sheep like to hang out here but weren’t there this particular day. CONS: As I mentioned it’s a strenuous hike so pace yourself. This is a very popular hike in GNP so be sure to come early if you want a parking space. There will be a lot of people on the trail. It can be dangerous if you hike it beginning of June/ end of May or earlier so bring some sort of traction devise for snow and ice. Autumn is an absolutely stunning time to go.
Rachael T — Google review
I was a little worried because my wife and I are not particularly athletic and definitely one of the slower people on the trail. Even so, we made it to the top without much issue. Definitely a workout but there was nothing too extreme about the hike that made it impossible for us. The gradual incline was definitely a plus and the quarter mile steep incline we just took frequent breaks. Saw several bighorn sheep. Glacier was amazing. Despite it being so popular there was enough space for all to enjoy. Water is freezing. I dipped my feet in and had to take it out after 15 seconds. Overall took us a little over 3 hrs one way. We spent 2 hrs at the glacier. It is unshaded and does get hot in the afternoon so highly recommend to start early. Also trail gets narrow so much better to go up when there is no foot traffic coming down. There are sections where there are sheer cliff drops but I never felt unsafe. Highly recommend and totally feel accomplished that we were able to do it :)

Visited early Sep. This is one of the most scenic hikes in Glacier NP. Saw a ram and a mountain goat on the trail. The glacier lake is just so amazing and unusual with "bloody pond". The lake is big and at the far end is still snow covered, but could see the crevasses as snow was melting. This is a must hike!!
S C — Google review
They say this Glacier will be gone in 8 -13 years so, don't miss your chance. This is one of the most beautiful hikes in Glacier National Park. Hike is challenging and should be planned as all day event. If you like extreme and you there in the summer swimming is and option but for everyone else - dipping you lags in will make you feel like you didn't hike at all and way back will be much easier. There is also lake in the beginning of the hire and swimming there is great way to complete this hike.

Saint Mary Lake, a 10-mile long lake in Glacier National Park, is a picturesque destination offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and opportunities to capture beautiful images of the colorful wildflowers that bloom along its shores during summer. The lake reaches depths of up to 300 feet and is home to wildlife such as elk, bears, bald eagles, and osprey.
Took the 9am Boat tour around St Mary lake and it didn't disappoint. The views all around this lake are stunning.

Many people go to lake McDonald and miss out on this amazing gem. Visit the boat ramp area or the day use picnic area in the national park or there is also water access from outside the park but there is a hike to get to the beach

Beautiful lake! Very clear water
Derrick S — Google review
Saint Mary Lake is the second-largest lake in Glacier National Park, after Lake McDonald. It's located on the east side of the park, and as you drive along the Going-to-the-Sun Road, you will also be driving along it's northern shore. Saint Mary Lake's waters are cold and clear; they rarely get warmer than 50 °F and are home to various species of trout for fishing. The lake is almost 10-miles long and 300 feet deep. During the winter, the lake is often completely frozen over and the Going-to-the-Sun Road is closed. We found a pullout where we could park and walk down to the water along a narrow dirt path in a field of wildflowers. The pullout also had a picnic area, but it was too cold and windy for that. From the water, you can see Little Chief Mountain standing guard over the west end of the lake, and Wild Goose Island in the near distance. I remember visiting this place as a child and many memories flooded through my mind as I walked there. In 2015, wildfires struck the area and the damage from them will be for always. Please be careful. Despite all that it is still a very lovely place to pull over, listen to the silence and enjoy the view.

Hard to beat Saint Mary Lake in Glacier National Park. Located on the east side of the park along the Going-to-the-Sun Road, the 10-mile long lake provides numerous pullouts with opportunities to explore many hiking trails, see Jackson Glacier, and meet friendly and helpful staff rangers at the St. Mary Visitor Center. You can also experience the lake via a scenic boat cruise with Glacier Park Boat Company that provides tours June through September. Check it out. You'll be glad you did.

This is one of the picturesque parts of Glacier National Park and, no offense to any other place we saw, one of it's best lakes. Here you can experience beautifully clear water that looks a different color depending on what park of the lake you are at, contrasting mountains, and excellent natural wonders. Plus there are plenty of trails and overlooks for you to enjoy.

Two Medicine Lake is a remote and serene destination nestled amidst mountains, offering a variety of activities for nature enthusiasts. Visitors can explore the area through scenic trails that lead to picturesque views, tranquil lakes, and cascading waterfalls. The lake also features a campground and boat rides for those seeking outdoor adventures. Additionally, the historic chalet-turned-store adds a touch of nostalgia to the experience.
We took the boat tour and stepped off to hike back. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Beautiful waterfalls and scenery along the way. The hike had a few challenging parts to it but nothing too difficult. We went in early June and it was a little muddy so I would recommend hiking boots.

We had the best time at Two Medicine Lake. It was definitely more slower paced, peaceful and not nearly as overcrowded when compared to the other side of the park.
Esmeralda M — Google review
The most beautiful place in Glacier National Park. So serene and beautiful hard to leave. There are plenty of day hikes all around this place. The boat launch is nearby for a trip across the lake to do a hike to Twin Falls or walk 4 miles or so around. There is a General Store that offers some souvenirs and snack items . Park workers are enthusiastically friendly and helpful. Goats roam the campground area freely be sure to drive through campground area section as well and park and enjoy the views and trails

I walked to the shore and sat down to meditate, but started crying immediately. I'm not sure if it was just the stunning beauty and the peace I felt, or if it was something more. What I am sure of is that I only experienced a little taste of why the indigenous people named this place Two Medicine. There's something healing about it.

Two Medicine Lake, nestled in the southeastern corner of Glacier National Park, offers a serene and less-traveled alternative to the park’s more frequented areas. With its tranquil waters, stunning mountain backdrops, and a variety of outdoor activities, it provides a quintessential Glacier experience. Canoeing & Kayaking: For those seeking a more tranquil experience, canoeing or kayaking on the lake allows for close encounters with nature in a peaceful setting. Recommended! Boat Tours: The Glacier Park Boat Company operates tours across the lake, providing informative rides that offer unique perspectives of the surrounding landscape.

Definitely worth the trip if you want to get some beautiful pics. As far as a mountain lake setting, it’s hard to beat.

Located in Apgar Village, the Apgar Visitor Center is a small cabin built in 1929 and offers park maps, books, ranger programs, and displays of flora and fauna. It features interactive activities for kids such as feeling a grizzly bear's fur and identifying birds by their 'songs.' The center also showcases educational displays about plants found in the park and habitats of wildlife. Additionally, visitors can take advantage of the Glacier Park Express to reach the center during summer months.
The visitor center is at Logan Pass, one of the most popular stops on the Going To The Sun Road in Glacier National Park and at the continental divide. The visitor center is okay. Has interesting information about the area which what I want from it. But as for the gift shop, the selection is limited. Yet the most important reason to visit the center is the GORGEOUS scenery at Logan pass. I recommend taking the short hike to the hidden lake if you are physically able to, Wow. And anyone you talk to about Glacier Park I am sure will agree, I can't miss National Park.

Apgar visitors center is located on the southern end of McDonald Lake. Its a great starting point for your trip into the park area. There are canoe rentals along with paddle board. Campground are located in and around the area but permits are needed along with you park pass. This also has a shopping area with lots of shops and coffee. Views are awesome and the lake is crystal clear. Make no mistake, this a great place to start your adventure.
Tracey/Len T — Google review
The Apgar Visitor Center at Glacier National Park was great. Very organized, you could tell where you were supposed to catch your Red Bus tour, a lot of rangers available for questions, great store with lots of hats, shirts, and souvenirs. Unfortunately, their parking lot is pretty small for the amount of people that show up. But if you wait on the hour for a tour to end, then parking is more readily available. Just get there early and be patient with parking.
A M — Google review
Glacier is a beautiful park with incredible views. The visitor center is a good stop before you head into the park. They have a good shop inside with good prices. The park rangers were helpful with questions. There is also a large trail map inside so you can preplan your trip into the park. Keep Your eyes open for grizzly bears. They are not easy to spot in the mountains but super cool when you do see one.
Robert G — Google review
I visited the Apgar Center the day before Glacier National Park "opened" for the summer. It wasn't overly busy, which is good because it's not a very big place. I imagine during the busy summer months it can get very crowded. The rangers were stationed outside in front of the gift shop. The gift shop is large with a wide variety of souvenirs to choose from. Behind the center is a short trail that goes to the shore of Lake McDonald, which is stunningly beautiful.
Chad S — Google review
Very nice facility with helpful park service employees and rangers on hand. Make sure to visit the gift shop to help support the park. This is one of the pickup points for Red Bus tours and you will see them lining up on the side of the building. We were at the Center in September and parking was available. Would imagine parking will be very limited in high season. As a side note you do not need a timed permit to visit the center. One is needed to go further into the park at certain times.
Tim F — Google review
Park rangers are knowledgeable and ready to answer all your questions. There is a Junior Randers program and you can get the book from the rangers. It's a fun way to encourage kids to learn about the park. Gift shop inside. Shuttle bus stop outside.

First, it was the second time visiting this beautiful national park. Such an amazing place with a beautiful road, under some interesting maintenance. While it is worth noticing the increase in visitors from all over the globe and locals, it provides the peace and warm for your soul. As for this place call Apgar Visitor Center, wifi is great, but seats not very confy. It is against federal law to plug your personal devices in any, any, but any electricity charging station. Was told, " it is not allow to use federal electrical outlets" such offense, as experienced, comes with a so call owner of such federal building, telling those progresive and last words. While it is great to see public and free transportation, it is not great to experienced rude and merciless park rangers. Such experience wont be forgotten, as it reminds me of those colourful pictures attached.

Situated at the peak of Going-to-the-Sun Road along the Continental Divide, Logan Pass Visitor Center is a summer-only facility offering interpretive exhibits on alpine wildlife and serving as a starting point for popular trails like Highline Trail and Hidden Lake Trail. Nearby, hikers can embark on the moderate Four-day Fifty Mountain hike, beginning across from the center and culminating at Waterton Lake. Additionally, visitors can explore nearby attractions such as St.
I was there on June 14th. One day before the going to the Sun road was open all the way to cars. Lots of bicyclers were able to use the road and the visitor center was very nice. Still snow on the ground around the visitor center but pathways were clear and all Restrooms were open. People were skiing and just generally having a good time up there. We were there about 8 pm at night. And it was a very active place. The sun didn't set until 9:30 ish.

We loved our visit here! Be forewarned, the parking lot fills up quickly! We went on a Saturday morning and couldn't get a parking spot after driving around the lot 6 times. So we left and drove to St. Mary's and went back to try it again and the parking lot was closed. Came back the next day at 6:15am and there was maybe 10 parking spots available. So go early!!! The views are majestic! You'll probably see mountain goats, marmots, tons of ground squirrels, and maybe even a grizzly or two. The visitor center is very informative but can get crowded fast.

Beautiful visitor center that has stunning views. Connects to hidden lake overlook hike as well as high line trail. Bathrooms are not the cleanest (as with most national parks) and parking is a battle! If you’re coming in the morning- come as early as you can- we waited 1+hour at 7am but it was worth it. :)

Parking is very limited. We were able to find a spot before 6:30am. People were racing to the last empty spots. Please be respectful of the speed limit, and parking spots that are reserved for the Red Bus Tours, NP Staff or 30 min parking limit. Despite the parking, the visitor center provides access to beautiful trails such as Hidden Lake and Highline trail. There are also plenty of restrooms available including clean porta potties. The visitor center has a small gift shop and informative section. The Park Rangers were also friendly and patient.

The Logan pass is a very popular place as it is a starting point for many beautiful trails in Glacier. We visited this place twice on our trip in July2025. One day we visited on a Friday around 7.00 PM and the parking was easy as most of the people were leaving at that time. We did the Hidden Pass Overlook trail and it was a great trail and by time we returned it was 9.00 PM and still there was abundant Sunlight which was a plus point. The next day we arrived around 9.00 AM , we were hoping to be there by 8.00 AM given the difficulty of parking. However we got lucky and took one round, and we were able to acquire a spot. I would say be patient and make few rounds before you can find a place as at that point people who came in early might be leaving already. Its all about patience and luck. We did the highline trail from here and again this trail was one of the gorgeous trail I have ever been to, specially the wild flowers took the whole trail to next level. Logan pass is well known for spotting Mountain goats , we were fortunate enough to see a whole family of goats. Overall Logan Pass is a great place to be let it be for hiking some amazing trails , or to watch mountain goats or to be at the highest elevation point in Glacier.

We went on Wednesday, 9/16/25, which is after peak season. We pulled in the parking lot and my husband said, you go ahead in the Visitors center and I will look for a parking space. I walked up the path and took pictures of the mountains. Then I went into the Visitors Center and looked around the gift shop, then I went and talked to a Ranger. Then I walked out toward the parking lot and saw my husband, who was still driving around the parking lot for 25 minutes and he never found a parking space. So we left. This was ridiculous.
Sharon D — Google review
What a beautiful place! It’s disappointing I couldn’t enjoy it fully. People were bbq-ing at the end of their parking spot at 9:30am so others could t park and enjoy the area, too. If there were park rangers to monitor the parking area to move people along, everyone could’ve had a chance to fully enjoy the Visitor Center. Unfortunate. I put on the review “1 hour plus” for the wait, but what it really means is we could never park at the Visitor Center.
Lori G — Google review
This is a nice little rest stop in the middle of Glacier National Park. There is a small gift shop with lots of options, as well as a bunch of information around the area. Highly recommend checking this place out but the parking is insane. It’s upper busy so be ready to fight for spots.

Hidden Lake Overlook is a highly sought-after hiking trail that begins at Logan Pass and takes you through the picturesque Hanging Gardens meadow, where you can frequently catch sight of mountain goats, wildflowers, and Wild Goose Island. This 2.7-mile roundtrip hike is perfect for warming up before tackling longer trails in the area.
6-14-25, partly sunny, high 50’s and the east side of the GTTS road opened to Logan. Lots of snow, water and mud on the trail to the overlook, bring snowshoes or traction devices to help prevent sliding around. The trail to the lake is closed but you can go to the overlook. We saw big horn, goats, marmots and pikas along the way. Parking was about 70% at 2:15pm. Bathrooms and visitors center were open.

Absolutely stunning views! The trail to Hidden Lake offers panoramic alpine scenery, wildflowers, and chances to spot mountain goats. The lake itself is crystal clear and perfectly nestled beneath dramatic peaks. A Glacier National Park gem! But finding parking there on the weekends is so hard.
Oleksandra S — Google review
This place deserves 10 stars! Beautiful overlook of Hidden lake! The walk up to it does have a bit of elevation change, but it's not a bad walk. The chances are very high that you'll see some kind of wildlife on the way too. Definitely worth it if you can get a parking spot at Logan pass or take the shuttle.

This is one of the best spots in Glacier National Park (although there are a lot). The park says 1.4 miles each way, Google Fit says closer to 2 miles. A little over 600 feet of elevation gain. Beautiful wildflower bloom on the way up in mid August. Mountain Goat and Marmots at the overlook.

Awesome hike out of Logan Pass Visitor Center. Parking is tricky so get there early or be patient and wait for someone to leave. Hike has some elevation gain on boardwalks and through some snowy areas early in season. Views from the lookout are amazing. Spotted mountain goats, deer, big horn sheep, marmots and squirrels. Highly recommend.

Pretty clear trail. The 1st 3rd of the trail is the toughest. There is a waterfall and the lakes are beautiful. Worthbthe hike. Logan Pass is only 6600 ft so not so high in altitude.

Did this trail in June of 2021, the day after Logan pass opened and this thing was COVERED in snow, in 98 degree weather. Even tho it was covered in snow, this could not have been a more fun hike. I probably slipped 50 times, and my uncle messed up his knee so bad that he had to get surgery. Alr that stuff wasn’t fun, but sliding down the mountain on little sledding areas on your butt was super fun.

When visiting Glacier National Park, the St. Mary Falls Shuttle Stop is a fantastic way to explore the stunning landscapes without the hassle of driving. The shuttle operates approximately every 15 minutes, making it convenient for travelers eager to experience all that this breathtaking park has to offer. While planning your trip, consider staying in charming accommodations located in East Glacier, West Glacier, or near Lake McDonald. These areas boast a variety of options from historic grand hotels to cozy cabins and motor inns.
The shuttle system is great, except the website and brochure is out of date and contradictory. It comes every 15 minutes-ish.

(Translated by Google) The shuttle bus service from St. Mary's is a complete disaster. We arrived at 8:00 a.m., and the bus didn't show up until 9:30 a.m. After boarding the bus, a person supposedly in charge of organizing access to the bus got us off the bus, claiming that our stop wasn't on the schedule and that we had to take the next one. So we had to wait two hours. There were a lot of people, so you also have to stand. It's worth noting that the buses stop at every stop, so this person tricked us. On the other side of the park, buses leave every 10 minutes, and standing is not allowed. At the end of our visit, we waited for the bus to St. Mary's again, and this time another supposed organizer started joking and telling us that the bus didn't have enough seats for everyone. We told him we had arrived before everyone else and that we weren't willing to wait again. Apparently, he didn't like how we spoke and banned us from boarding. Not content with this, I called a Ranger, to whom we explained what had happened, but he did absolutely nothing. We were finally allowed to take the last bus. I will never again visit the park from the St. Mary's side.

Avalanche Lake was absolutely gorgeous and worth the hike! The trail is about 2 miles each way and not too difficult—shaded, with streams and waterfalls along the way, so it stays interesting. When you finally reach the lake, the view is stunning: turquoise water surrounded by tall cliffs and multiple waterfalls cascading down into it. It felt peaceful and refreshing, even with other hikers around. Tip: Go early to avoid crowds and bring water/snacks—you’ll want to stay and enjoy the view for a while. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Glacier National Park!

Beautiful, well-maintained trail with stunning views from start to finish. The hike winds through lush forest along Avalanche Creek, and ends at the breathtaking Avalanche Lake — crystal-clear water, towering cliffs, and waterfalls. We even spotted a deer and marmot along the way. A must-do in Glacier National Park!

We combined this with the trail of the cedars. My alltrails said 7.1 miles and my wifes apple watch said 7.5 when all was said and done but I had heard it was 5.9 beforehand. Either way, all ages and sizes were accomplishing this hike although most everyone we saw were taking breaks. We were able to do this without taking breaks besides photo ops and spent some time at the lake, exploring. The incline is slow and steady, totaling around 600-700' when done, with barely any of it on the way back. I highly recommend hitting the fishing trail as soon as you see the lake, but also walking to the other side of the lake. The views from both ends are breathtaking. We got here around 630am on a Wednesday morning in early August, the lot was over half full with cars parking every few seconds. This is one of the more popular hikes. The lot is always full after 7am and you have to wait for spots.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Worth the Hike Avalanche Lake was one of the highlights of our trip to Glacier. The hike is about 2 miles each way—super manageable—and the trail is well maintained with beautiful trees and shaded spots throughout. You follow a creek for a good portion of the trail, and the sound of the water makes the hike feel peaceful the whole way. Once you reach the lake, the view is incredible. Crystal-clear water surrounded by massive cliffs and waterfalls pouring down in the distance. It’s the kind of spot that makes you want to just sit down and take it all in. Definitely recommend packing a snack and staying for a bit. Easy to see why it’s a favorite—don’t skip it.

The Highline Trail is a popular hiking route that winds through alpine meadows and the Continental Divide, offering breathtaking scenic views. One of its most renowned multi-day hikes is the North Circle, also known as the Highline Trail/Ptarmigan Tunnel Loop. This trail spans around seven days and takes hikers across snow-capped mountains, the Chaney glacier, serene blue lakes, Dawn Mist Falls, and vibrant wildflower-filled meadows.
It is a great trail and you have the option to go as far as you want. There are places where you can stop and stay for the night as well and a cabin that you can rent out with food available if you are only making a day trip

If you only do easy hikes, this is probably the best experience for Glacier National Park - just walk a mile or two in and back out.
Will P — Google review
Consistently rated at or near the top of any trail in the park system. An incredible trail where the 360 degree views never stop. Not to much elevation change just long and exposed tonthe elements.
Wyatt P — Google review
This was one of the best hikes at Glacier National Park. We hiked 1.5 miles in and 1.5 miles out for a total 3 mile hike. The trail is much longer than that, but even hiking a small portion of it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. The views are beautiful the entire way. The trail is narrow and high. I loved it but if you do not like heights, be aware that this trail is high and on the side of a mountain. You need to park at Logan’s Pass which is difficult. We arrived at Logan’s Pass at 6:30 AM and there were only a couple of spots left. So, make sure you plan for that.
Sylvia P — Google review
Must hike trail at Glacier. Get to Logan pass before 6am to ensure parking. We cooked breakfast at the parking lot to save time.
Marty O — Google review
Its a long hike so be prepared and don't get caught shorthanded. One of the best hikes in the park short of going back country. The views are stunning, rewarding and captivating. Plan on getting on the trail early as parking is hard to come by. There are restrooms at the parking lot.
Tom Y — Google review
This is a long trail. It has lots of hills so you can get a great workout. Lots of beautiful views. We saw rams and goats here. So many wild flowers in July. It was a bit Smokey from the wildfires in Canada but the views were still amazing. Expect the parking lot to be full of you don’t arrive before 8am. There are bathrooms at the trailhead.
Diana S — Google review
Exhilarating, sometimes very steep and narrow but very beautiful. We were surprised at all the different flowers and large and small waterfalls. We turned around before the switchbacks and that saved us from a lot of elevation change. Started at 7am and barely got a spot at Logan Visitor center. It was a zoo there when we got back, the parking lot was packed with cars watching us like vultures to see if we were leaving! Kind of uncomfortable but we'll worth the effort.

Iceberg Lake is a stunning destination within Glacier National Park, offering breathtaking views of Iceberg Peak and Mount Wilbur. While many visitors flock to popular areas like Lake MacDonald and Logan Pass, the North Fork region provides a less-visited yet fascinating hiking experience with moderate trails. It's important to start early when driving to well-known trailheads as parking spots fill up quickly. The roughly 9.
The hike was SO worth it. The view and experience you get up there is unreal. We went swimming while we were up there. The hike going up is almost all uphill, so coming down was much easier. We are new hikers, but it was really manageable. We saw a moose super close to the trail. I recommend doing this

One of the most beautiful places at Glacier National Park! Absolutely worth the hike. It’s a very busy trail so prepare to wait or squeeze by other hikers coming the other way in spots and expect plenty of company at the lake. There is often a lot of bear activity on this trail so it does get closed periodically for that so you may wanna check before heading out so you don’t get halfway there and get forced to turn around. Fortunately no issues when I went and had a beautiful, sunny day. Epic!
FFKDTP1 — Google review
The lake is well worth the long hike. Lots of people were swimming and my 6year old fell in when trying to retrieve a chunk of snow. We also saw a moose just on the edge of the lake.
Jacob K — Google review
Great hike, lovely view throughout the trail and lots of beautiful wild flowers. The hike itself is moderate, but take lots of water with you. If you want to avoid the crowd and find a parking spot, try to be there as early as you can. We reached the parking spot at 8 and most of the spots were almost gone, however, the iceberg lake wasn’t much crowded so we were able to get a good spot. Also make sure you have bugs spray, cos there definitely was a lot of bugs.

This trail was awesome! Got to the trailhead around 1030am and it wasn't too packed since it's up in Many Glacier. This hike is long but the ascent is gradual just make sure to bring plenty of water and check the weather. This is a great hike for the solo photographer. Definitely recommend!

Easy but beautiful trail. We completed this hike on Sep 12, 2022. This trail is on eastern Glacier. The lake is serene and grand. We were told the trail was closed the day before our visit due to grizzly. Found wild berries and a bear paw print alo g the trail.
S C — Google review
We came over to this area of the park for a long day of hiking and it did not disappoint. On our drive in, we saw a grizzly bear cub on the side of the road fairly close which was cool. We stopped at the information center and found out that the Grinell Glacier trail was closed part way up because of snow. Because of that, we decided to do the Iceberg Lake trail instead. The start of our hike was quite foggy so we couldn't see the tops of the mountains. Right as we approached Iceberg Lake the fog lifted to reveal gorgeous views. The lake was absolutely stunning. The hike back revealed great views of the surrounding mountains that we couldn't see on the way there. The hike itself was about 9 miles round-trip, a little shorter than the signs said. It started out pretty steep, but it leveled out pretty quickly. The way there was almost all uphill, but it was a fairly gentle climb. I would absolutely recommend this hike and I'm sure there are many others that are great at Many Glacier as well.
Jacqueline T — Google review
The lake is amazing. The water is a beautiful turquoise. It's a must see if you are in the Many Glacier Area of Glacier National Park. The hike can be considered challenging. It's a 4 8 mile hike to reach the lake and it's a lot of elevation gain. The entire hike is beautiful. There are amazing mountin views. As you get closer the trail overlooks a very scenic valley. There are plenty of spots to sit and rest once you reach the lake.

Campground
Many Glacier Campground is a well-liked 13-site camping spot that offers amenities such as potable water and showers. It is situated within the vast wilderness of a 1-million-acre national park, offering stunning views of evergreen forests, glacier lakes, and snowcapped peaks along a 50-mile drive. The drive leads to Logan Pass, where visitors can marvel at the breathtaking scenery of the Continental Divide. This area is known for its abundant wildlife, including grizzly bears.
I almost gave this 4 stars, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. The only critique is how crowded and close quarters the campground is, but other than that, this place is perfect. In some ways, it’s TOO nice haha. The bathrooms were pristine and there was fresh water, both of which we didn’t expect. We don’t need much after a long day of hiking, so to come back to a beautiful site is all we need. It’s right by various trail heads which made exploring a breeze. We saw 4 moose right next to the campsite and we saw goats every night on the hill.
Connor M — Google review
The temporary campground is behind of the parking lot, we spent few hours in the hotel lobby, gift shop, enjoy the sunset, even though it’s super cloudy!
Tianyi Z — Google review
This is a huge campground ⛺️. From what I’ve seen it’s quite popular, but that doesn’t interfere with your experience as the space is huge and there are a lot of trees, so it feels quiet. The lakes around it provide you for a nice wildlife sporting experience. Lots of trails around would keep you busy for days. I recommend this campground. P.S. no showers, but the toilets are clean and look brand new (women’s).
K C — Google review
My heart is bursting with joy as I reflect on the epic adventure I recently experienced in Glacier National Park and our stay at Many Glacier Campground. We hiked to Iceberg Lake, paddle boarded all over the local lakes and creeks. We had coffee with moose, celebrated happy hour watching grizzlies (from a safe distance) and a couple of black bears made an appearance. Pretty epic! Practice bear safety and put food away and always carry bear spray.

I camped at many glacier campground in Glacier N.P. for 5 nights. It was great that many hiking trails are available. But to get to West Side of N.P., it takes 50mins+ drive. At the nearest lake from this C.G., deer or mooses are visiting almost every day, so you may want to stop by to quietly watch.
Tomoko N — Google review
Heaven on earth !!! Campground is clean and located at just about perfect spot, host was very friendly and suggested few motorcycle riding routes to me along with hiking suggestions. I was little late and probably made a little noises while setting up my tent but neighbors were polite except 1 person ( they follow me 😃 ) Walking distance to restaurant and hiking trails made it ideal setup for my trip on motorcycle, i wish i could stay few more days. Please remember currently this campground is online only.

Wow, hiking to a Glacier. Shop, Restaurant, wifi where Laundry is, great stuff. Has a garbage dumpster problem. There are 6 stinking dumpster,s inside the campground attracting bears. 3 dumpsters outside campground is enough.

Highline Trail Trailhead is a popular 11.8-mile seasonal trail offering breathtaking panoramic valley views, wildlife sightings, and a ledge with a hand cable for added safety. The trail provides stunning views throughout its length, with the perfect weather making the experience even more enjoyable. During summer months, vibrant Montana wildflowers adorn the surroundings, adding to the picturesque landscape.
Wow. What amazing views. This was a tough trail. After hiking several hours, we arrived at the Grinnel Glacier portion. We opted not to go up to the glacier views. It was just too much for us at that point. We took the loop trail down because it was "faster". It's almost a straight decent, brutal on the knees. Waited on the shuttle for about 45 minutes back to Logan's Pass. You might have better luck trying to hitch a ride and give up your parking spot if you started at Logan. As tough as it was, I'm still giving all stars. The beauty is incomparable.

Beautiful trail with stunning views and wildlife viewing opportunities. The glacier overlook is challenging but so worth the challenge for the reward of one of the most stunning views you will see in your lifetime. It’s very worth the hike. But may be challenging for some individuals.
Brennan M — Google review
I’ve been to 28 national parks and hiked all around the PNW, this is my all time favorite hike so far. Views are incredible! Pictures do not do it justice. Make sure to check the cameras at Logan pass before driving up. The first day I drove up it was completely socked in with fog and not able to hike. Second day cams were clear but dense fog halfway up that lifted right before Logan pass.
Stephanie H — Google review
This hike was so challenging but so worth it! Postcard-worthy views with every step you take :) I was scared to do this because I’m a little afraid of heights, but honestly it’s such a thrill and I very rarely felt anything less than secure on the trail. If you don’t want to make it all the way to the Granite Park Chalet, the Haystack switchback is a very scenic place to have a quick lunch and turn around! Make sure to wear waterproof shoes and bring your trekking poles - you’ll be crossing a few waterfalls!
Jasmine W — Google review
Roughly 14 mile hike from Logan Pass to the Loop including the Grinnell Glacier overlook. It is strenuous. Grinnell glacier overlook is an out-and-back spur off the main trail that ascends 900ft in .8 miles... then you have to come back down and begin a fairly steady ascent to the Granite Park Chalet. Good place to rest, buy additional water, Gatorade, snacks. Then begins what is, in my opinion, the toughest part of the hike...a 4 mile decent to the loop that is brutal on the knees. Descending sounds easy, it most definitely is not. It is STEEP and uneven. Bring your hiking poles, they saved me. And don't believe google maps estimated time to traverse this. Took us 11hrs to complete this 14 mile hike with sufficient rest breaks, lunch, etc. Start early, it will also help with parking.
Kevin S — Google review
This hike was, of course, highly recommend and reviewed. It definitely lived up to the hype. First, be sure to get to Logan Pass by 6:30. At 7:00, almost all spaces were gone. There is a ledge early on with a cable, but it's not that narrow. We went on an overcast, windy day, and we only made it to Haystack, about four miles away, versus Grinell Glacier overlook like I had hoped, and it was still one of myself top ten favorite hikes. We even saw a mountain goat closer than we would have liked as it ran down the mountain near us.
Dennis E — Google review
Super picturesque, pretty easy although long. Way busier than I would have hoped for a weekday in October, but the crowds fade out after the first half mile or so.
TF — Google review
Parking is a nightmare. Talked to people who took a shuttle up and they said they had to wait 2 hours for the shuttle. Only went about the first mile due to a hiking members fear of heights. The view is the same from the road. Did get to get really close to a mountain goat.

Like all the hikes in Glacier National Park, this one is amazing and unforgettable, but has the bonus of being a very easy hike compared to most in Glacier. Also arrived at the parking lot around 9 a.m. on a Saturday and there were plenty of spots.

It is one of the most popular hikes in Glacier National park, Montana. Lots of stairs & it is an uphill trail to the beautiful lake. The trail of hidden lake starts behind the Logan pass visitor center. The view is amazing. We saw five big horn sheep on the trail. The lookout wooden platform is well maintained. The hike is moderate but worth it. You have to park your vehicle in Logan pass visitor center. Finding a parking spot is very difficult.
Poulami G — Google review
This is an amazing spot with a beautiful lake. It’s mostly boarded so easy to climb up. It is all up most of the first half but not a difficult hike. Fairly short. We saw mountain goats and rams. A beautiful experience. It does get very busy and the parking lot is fairly small so expect to wait for parking or have to leave and come back at another time
Diana S — Google review
While parking is a major challenge at Logan Pass, this is a hike worth taking. One of the best, if not the best, in Glacier National Park. It’s a boardwalk for much of it, so very easy, with only moderate elevation. The non-boardwalk parts are easy dirt trails. You can’t get lost. The “lookout” is a 1.5 mile straight shot and gets you to about 8000 ft. So 3 miles round trip. You can hike down another 1.5 miles down to the lake, but that obviously makes the hike an additional 3 miles. This is a must do hike, at least to the lookout. VictorB

What can I say. This is the most beautiful lake scenery in the whole Montana state. I love the hike and the sights all around the trail is just amazing. Anyone in the area must see this place. Views are breathtaking. Trust me these pictures doesn’t do the justice. It’s a place that need to be on your bucket list. I can not wait to go there again.

One of the beautiful alpine lakes in Glacier National Park. The start of the trail is through Logan pass. The trail takes you to the overlook and through the overlook there’s another trail that leads you down to the lake. Since the trail starts from Logan Pass, finding a parking spot is very challenging, so make sure you leave early. Chances of seeing wild goats on this trail is quite high. Also bear spotting is high when you walk down towards the lake from the overlook. During our time, the trail to the lake was closed because of the bears, so have your bear spray ready.

It’s an easy hike to St Mary Falls. St. Mary Falls drops roughly 35 feet in three separate tiers, with the two largest being the most photogenic. I started my hike right after sunrise and there were very few people.

This was a very fun hike. I really enjoyed it. The waterfall was very beautiful. Make sure you get there early in the morning to ensure parking. We got there at seven and it filled up by eight. Also be careful on the wood bridge since I got a splinter. I would definitely come back here because the falls are super pretty and you can go swimming in the river. Just be careful. The views are amazing. The trail is very busy. Once you’re there, there’s a lot of great places to sit and have a snack and enjoy the view! It is also in bear country so be careful for bears because some people saw them we didn’t, but I would still be careful and bring bear spray

Nice little hike to the falls. Beautiful views along the trail. Everyone said we should've kept going to Virginia Falls, but it started pouring on us, and I didn't want to float away.
Joshua T — Google review
This is a good short hike. I’d say it’s easy because going in is basically downhill but that means the hike out is uphill. Still, I this mostly easy with a lake and two falls to view. You could swim if you want to because there’s a small beach under the falls. This is a good short stop if you have a bigger one or long drive on your agenda. We entered the park before 7 and didn’t have to get a pass for The Road to the Sun.

We recently visited St. Mary's and Virginia Falls with our infant. St. Mary's Falls truly impressed us with its stunning blue water cascading over iconic red rocks, making for an amazing sight, the hike itself was a moderate 2.5-mile round trip from the parking area, mostly downhill to the falls and then uphill on the return, all while offering amazing landscapes. Be warned, parking is extremely limited; we had to wait for about 30 minutes just to get a spot on a Sunday.

Visitors can learn about the impact of climate change on glaciers by reading informative signs at the overlook. Additionally, it is one of the few spots where a ranger may be available to provide insights and answer questions about the glacier.
4th worth stop from east entrance of the "going to the sun road" A highly recommemded road to drive on in Glacier National park totally worth it. The view from this spot of the Jackson Glacier is truly exceptional especially in fall. There were no wshrooms or picnic bench its just a quick stop like many others on this road. Ample parking for many cars for a quick pic stop. What made this a worth stop was the view of the mountains, glacier and valley. The view is just majestic. We visited in Oct 2024 and the view of fall tree was just amazing the road is with lots of turns so driver wont enjoy the view but passangers will. In winter with snow it can be challenging winter tires recommended. There are many other spots worth the stop on this road each of them I have seperately reviewed with tons of images and videos. The Going to the sun road is 80 Km long but takes a full day if you stop on all spots and spend time. You do need parking permit to visit these spots. Follow for more detailed reviews.

Tourist information center
The Saint Mary Visitor Center is a stylish hub offering information panels, hiking maps, souvenirs, and history displays with stunning mountain views. It provides helpful information on the local Blackfeet tribe and hosts public programs on various subjects like astronomy and backcountry trip planning. Located near the far end of the lake and entrance station, it serves as a convenient stop for visitors to gather park information and pick up the free Going-to-the-Sun Road shuttle.
We visited on a day that was covered in wildfire smoke, but the visitor center really saved our entire visit! When we arrived, we unexpectedly got to see a native American dance presentation with some of the local Black Foot dancers wearing their traditional dress. We absolutely loved it! They even had the entire audience join hands and do a social dance at the end. Such a well done and informative show with such talented young people dancing. The center also had some nice displays and a small shop. We were thankful to have a distraction inside that day and it was much needed!

The St. Mary Visitor Center is an absolute must-stop when visiting Glacier National Park. It’s not only the gateway to the east side of the park but also packed with information, amenities, and breathtaking views. Inside, you’ll find knowledgeable and friendly staff ready to answer questions, provide maps, and suggest hikes or scenic routes that fit your schedule and ability. The displays are excellent — offering insight into the park’s history, wildlife, glaciers, and Native American heritage. There’s also a small gift shop with books, maps, souvenirs, and essentials. Also make sure to take advantage of the theatre because they do show some shows every half an hour. The center has all the conveniences you’d hope for: clean restrooms, water refill stations, and plenty of parking. Outside, the views of St. Mary Lake and the surrounding peaks are stunning, making it a perfect spot to start your Glacier adventure. From here, you can easily access the famous Going-to-the-Sun Road, as well as nearby hiking trails and scenic overlooks. Rangers also host programs and talks that add even more depth to the visit, especially for families or those wanting to learn more about the park’s culture and ecosystems. Whether you’re gathering information, resting, or simply soaking in the scenery, the St. Mary Visitor Center is a highlight of the park experience and a wonderful starting point for exploring the east side of Glacier.

I usually collect National Park stamps and tokens, and this place had a great variety of them along with nice souvenirs and gift items. The theater is spacious and offers great information about the park’s history, wildlife, and trails. If possible, try to attend the stargazing program at night it’s a fun and beautiful experience! Don’t forget to bring blankets and switch off your car lights for the best view of the stars. Parking can be a bit tricky during busy hours, so plan some extra time. ⭐ Bonus tip: The visitor center staff sometimes hand out junior ranger activity books for adults too ask for one if you enjoy learning little facts about the park! I hope you’ll like my review I tried to give you a heads-up and a quick glimpse!

Visited all Glacier National Park visitor centers and Saint Mary is the best one. Friendly rangers but not as crowded than Logan Pass and Apgar VC. View is stunning and is close to the Rising Sun Motor-in and Cabins where we were staying. We hopped on a Red bus tour from there for a full tour to Macdonald Lodge back and forth and super glad we started there as apposed to the west side. Why? It was just so quiet and calm and no long lines of grumpy visitors waiting for the shuttles like at Apgar. As for the VC, bigger than Logan Pass and less busy than Apgar. Had time to watch the short movie about GNP and it was good, done fairly recently (2010ish). Kids did their junior ranger thing there. Found parking but it gets filled up quite fast but not as fast as the other one VCs.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of downtown Whitefish, The Firebrand Hotel is a stunning lodge-style retreat that offers breathtaking views of both the city and surrounding mountains. This modern boutique hotel features 86 elegantly designed rooms with clean neutrals, walk-in showers, and convenient writing desks.
We stayed here for the week while we visited Glacier National Park. We couldn't have been more happy with the stay. You're 35 minutes from the west entrance of the park and 2 hours from the east entrance. We spent the days in the park, then at night we were walking distance from all the nice bars and restaurants of Whitefish. The room was very nice and the property is great. The bear spray vending machine was an easy and affordable way to get your spray if you plan to hike the park. We look forward to staying at the Firebrand again.

We reserved a night at Firebrand and paid a very high price for a King bed room. Upon arrival (an hour after check in time) they put us in a double queen room instead with no explanation to why and we only found out after entering the room. We questioned them on it and they told us “maintenance issue”. Next, operating the shower was so confusing and challenging. They had small instructions but I’m quite surprised a shower could be so confusing. There also was no fan in the bathroom and no trash can. Small but annoying things especially when you pay over $800 for 1 night! The bed was extremely uncomfortable and because my husband is heavier I kept rolling down to his side. We both had the worst night of sleep ever. To top everything off the night we arrived we had appetizers and drinks at the restaurant. There were only two other tables occupied and almost every single staff member but 1 was almost constantly on their phones and not attentive at all. If I ran the hotel I would fire everyone there as it felt like we were almost an inconvenience. I never write reviews but after spending so much money and feeling so disappointed on our anniversary outing I could help warning others before spending their time here. I wish I had spent less at a different hotel as I easily could have and not have dealt with this.

Nice hotel, but not extraordinary. Expected more, given the price. Room was nice, but not much different than a Hampton Inn, just much more expensive. Hotel staff was very friendly. Location has its pluses and minuses. The plus is being close to shopping and lots of restaurants. The minus is excessive road noise. Our room was close to Hwy 93, apparently the only way to get through town. Road noise was constant all night long, especially from trucks. Hwy 93 takes a sharp left turn next to the hotel, and trucks feel obligated to hit the engine brake to make the turn. Had to resort to using earplugs, a huge disappointment for a hotel at this price point. BTW, why no bypass around Whitefish?.

Fantastic hotel. The staff was amazing. Very helpful, polite, efficient. A great welcome to Whitefish. Jade at the front desk was exceptional. Perfect service while balancing a ton of check-ins at a very busy time. Highly recommended.

I was so looking forward to my stay at The Firebrand and am so disappointed. The hotel is dated and tired and doesn't feel as clean as I would expect from a $525 + room rate. I can't imagine having to share the room as It's very cramped and frankly not as nice as recent Hampton Inn stays- for $150 per night. The staff was unimpressive and inattentive. I did not feel welcomed. I have never written a bad review, but wanted to share my experience. I sure wish I knew what I know now before I booked the room.
Sue H — Google review
Disappointing stay. Room decor was dated and consistently dirty with crumbs and dust, despite multiple visits from housekeeping. Requests made at the front desk were ignored. Slow WiFi. Hot tub and location were nice!
Matthew E — Google review
Hotel was dirty from the minute we walked in the door. The service was pathetic and the attitude of the check in person to the barista was a joke. The bartender was by far the best with service and attitude. We never did get our room cleaned even after asking for it to be done. The culture has never been worse and we have stayed here every year for at least 10 years. They obviously need a new GM to turn this place around.

Our experience here was fabulous- Thank you for supporting military and our first responders! You guys at firebrand saved our vacation and we won't forget it. We had booked down the road for an outrageous amount of money believing it would be good - that place was a disaster upon checking in we knew we needed to change hotels. Come to find out fire brand had just purchased that hotel and that was why all the construction was occurring- it's gonna take a ton of work to get that hotel up to the standard that this "firebrand hotel" is. I do believe in these owners and I will always see if we can stay here when traveling thru this area .....absolutely perfect for us! Hope to see you again soon - we are looking forward to it. A definite recommendation for all my friends, family, and followers- not a better place around!

Inn
Nestled along the iconic Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park, Rising Sun Motor Inn offers a nostalgic 1950s-era motel experience with its refurbished TV-free rooms and cabins. Located just six miles west of St. Mary Visitors Center and a short stroll from St. Mary Lake, this inn provides convenient access to popular nearby trails like Sun Point Nature Trail and Virginia Falls Trail.
The Rising Sun is a charming trip back in time. Yes, it is an older style of cabin motel but has everything you need. The location inside the park, close to a variety of hiking trails is excellent. The staff was very helpful and consistently pleasant. Our room had everything we needed and was spotless. The on site restaurant had a variety of options and we enjoyed several meals there. There was a well stocked camp store. If we get to visit Glacier NP again, we will try to get rooms at the Rising Sun.

Delightfully casual mountain retreat in East Glacier National Park St Mary’s Lake area. Our motor inn room was cheerfully decorated with a Red Bus theme and very comfy with lots of bed pillows. Really enjoyed our Adirondack chairs on the porch for star gazing and wine sipping. Restaurant on site was good quality and essential. Two gift shops offer a wide selection of fun items plus supplies.

08-31-2025. We stayed at Rising Sun Motor Inn a lovely stay right inside the National Park! The wooden cabins have a beautiful view of the mountains right from the window. A few trails even start from the area, which is super convenient for hikers. You’ll find plenty of huckleberry bushes nearby, but remember, it’s bear country, so stay alert. The restaurant serves good food, and there’s a general store for essentials and souvenirs. Wifi is only available in the restaurant area, and there’s no phone signal in the cabins or most parts of the park, so make sure to download offline maps in advance. ⭐ Bonus tip: Try waking up early you might spot deer or even elk wandering near the cabins at sunrise! I hope you’ll like my review — I tried to give you a heads-up and a quick glimpse!

We stopped at Rising Sun for dinner and ate at Two Dog Flats Grill. We did not stay in the hotel or camp site. The restaurant is a little small, so it can fill up quickly. We had a ten minute wait at 5pm, but we were ahead of the dinner rush by 10-15 minutes. Great food options. My wife had a duck special (it was good!), my son had fish nuggets and a salad, I had a pulled pork sandwich (served with coleslaw on the bun, just like I enjoy!), and my daughter had a hamburger from the kids menu. Great view out the windows. Our waitress was fantastic. We had excellent service all night. My 7yo daughter was hangry, but the waitress talked with her and tried cheering her up every time she came to the table. A+++ waitress.

For a motor inn these rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. Unfortunately room service didn’t make our beds which was a bummer, especially for the steep $290/night price tag. Alas, a great spot on the east end of the park.
Sara C — Google review
Stayed in a Cabin 7A and it was clean and cute but a bit small for the 4 of us with 2 double beds. I am not super tall 5,9 but I had not enough room for my legs…anyway it is what it is, a double bed and not a queen or kingsize. Not a big deal. The big deal was the super lourd noise coming from the hot water faucet…and we did not have enough hot water for the four of us to have a quick hot shower. All this aside, it was fun to sleep in this pretty yellow Cabin. We had neighbors in 7B and we were worried because of the thin wall separating the two units but they were quiet, so all good. It would have been good to have a fridge in the room but there was not a lot of space to put it. No AC but with windows open we were fine. We had dinner at the two dog flats very close to our cabin and the service was excellent (Thanks Paul) but the food was so so. We had ribs and they were dry and super hard. Normally baby back ribs will be juicy and tender and the meat will separate from the bones easily but the ones we had were stiff and it was very difficult to cut the meat from the bones…worst ribs I ever had. My wife had a trout fillet, supposedly local but it did not taste anything…One of us had a burger and it was good. Well overpriced but it is the price to pay to be in a national park… The next morning we had the breakfast buffet and it was good and the service as well. The only issue was the coffee that was awful…I am a coffee person and I had only one sip… To note that two cooks were playing super loud music while working during breakfast, not a big deal but it was weird to hear rap music while watching the great view of Glacier National Park! We chose this place to have a tour the next morning to do the Going to the sun road and it was overall a good experience. Less crowded than on the West side.

We had a magical time at Rising Sun Motor Inn. We were in spacious room number 7. Seth set us up in a large corner room with views in multiple directions. Seating is provided outside to check out scenery and wildlife. Seth also provides excellent advice on hiking in the area. He set us up for a great hike from Baring Falls to St Mary’s, and on the Virginia Falls. It was a fantastic hike with exuberant falls. Logan Pass trails and the Highline Trail are fantastic hikes closeby which we have done in the past under better weather conditions. Seth carefully clued us in on which trails would be perfect for us and ones which were not due to hazardous icy conditions. He was spot on! There is at least one trailhead on premises for an interesting hike with views. It is easy to walk from the lodging area to the general/gift store and restaurant. Prices are reasonable. The food was so good that when we moved on the Many Glacier Hotel, we went back there to have the Red Mole Pasta with trout one more time. The cook is marvelous. Lindsey, Anthony, and Lilianna and the other restaurant servers are more then friendly and knowledgeable. They make you feel like family. We can't recommend this facility enough. We have stayed there before and if we ever went back to Glacier, we would certainly stay there again.

This is our second trip to Glacier NP and we loved our three day stay in a cabin at Rising Sun. Experiencing Glacier NP from the East entrance was outstanding. We traveled from Rising Sun to East Glacier for a Red Bus tour. We went through a part of the Blackfoot Nation. The views were dramatic. We saw some wildlife (bears (2), horses, and deer. It was cloudy day 2 so we drove through the Blackfoot Agency to Great Falls to see the "wide Missouri" river. It was raining the last day as we left Rising Sun for Kalispell on the rock strewn and cloudy Going to the Sun road East to West. Fabulous trip, thank you.

Swiftcurrent Lake is a stunning and expansive body of water located in Glacier National Park. Visitors can enjoy boating on the lake and even stay at a hotel situated along its picturesque shores. The Glacier Park Boat Company operates boat services on Swiftcurrent Lake, providing an opportunity to explore the area's natural beauty from the water. Additionally, the lake serves as a starting point for those embarking on the popular hike to Grinnell Glacier, offering ferry services that significantly reduce the hiking distance.
A beautiful lake to visit in Many glacier area. You can take a boat tour or do kayak here. You can go around the lake or sit on the shore and enjoy the breeze and the sunshine.

Virginia Falls is a breathtaking destination that beckons adventurers with its stunning cascades, accessible via a scenic hike through the lush forest. Nestled within Glacier National Park, it pairs beautifully with St. Mary Falls for an unforgettable out-and-back trek. Starting from the St. Mary Falls shuttle stop or nearby trailhead, hikers are treated to panoramic views of the picturesque St. Mary Lake, framed by towering mountains that rise dramatically above its shimmering waters.
The falls is worth the hike, absolutely stunning. Took my breath away when I saw it, also the crowd makes a lot of difference. When we got there there was no crowd so we had the falls all to ourselves for may be around half an hour. The photos and videos just won’t justify it. One of my best experiences of the glacier.

This falls is a must see and experience. My daughter and I hiked here in mid June 2024 and the power and the beauty is a must experience. You can get almost under the falls but the force of the water and the winds were so strong that it made it impossible. It's a refreshing hike on a hot day because you will get wet.

This is a great capstone to Saint Mary’s Falls. It is much bigger with lots of smaller falls as you climb up to it. There are great views from the bottom and up top. The trails are in good condition but it is a little steep of a climb up. It felt like never ending views on this trail.

Redrock Falls is a family-friendly natural destination, perfect for beginner hikers and picnics. It's one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Glacier National Park, surrounded by lakes, scenic views, and stunning cascades. For experienced hikers, there's an additional 3.2-mile roundtrip hike to Bullhead Lake from the same trailhead. The area is known for frequent moose sightings and is also grizzly territory, so caution is advised.
A beautiful waterfall that is easily accessible via a scenic, fairly flat, and well maintained trail. The trail is 1.8 miles to the falls. There is lots of parking at the visitor center and campground, but the parking lot may be full during busy times and you may have to park outside on the street. Plan 3 or 4 hours to do the out and back trail.

This is a gorgeous place. The hike to it is relatively mild, our 8 year old complained some but, we made it there and back. We saw a deer but not much else in terms of wildlife. Natural beauty however is never ending gorgeous: landscapes, lakes, mountains all of it. It helped that it was sunny and warm when we hiked in mid June.
Malvin C — Google review
Came out here with the family last week and was well worth it! Easy trail for families with kiddos, had ages 5-10 and no problem! We did not see much animals we went during day hours. Forums say to go early morning around 5am or later day 5pm if your looking for wildlife. Supposedly that is when the trails die down. Secret, if there is no parking sneak over to the iceberg ptarmigan trailhead side!
Nhan T — Google review
This was an amazing hike. The trail was in great condition. Along the hike to Red Rock Falls we heard of a big bull moose at the first lake and took the detour. From what the rangers told us it is common to see them in the area feeding in the lakes. This was such a great animal to see. The falls had several areas to sit and watch the water make it way down towards the lake. We found a nice spots for lunch and I took a VERY COLD swim after right at the bottom waterfall. I highly recommend a dip in this water. It will leave you feeling great for the rest of the day.
Keet B — Google review
Really fun and easy hike! The falls are just a short distance off the trail and easy to find. Water flow really depends of rain or snowmelt. There’s a couple spots to get a good view of Redrock Lake on the way. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Perfect way to spend an afternoon! Mostly easy trail for those with some mobility issues. Gorgeous views. Lake and reflections are beautiful, and falls are not large, but are picturesque. Fall foliage was lovely as well. Mountains are stunning.

We visited this place in July 2022. This waterfall trail is located on the Many Glacier Entrance side of the park. There are 3 trails that begin in the same area. So watch out for the one you want to go. This trail forn the most park is easy. You walk though thick forest area which means not great panoramic views of the vast park. There are some overgrown areas but aren't that intrusive. You can take your kids on this trial, we did, since it was just 1.8 miles one way from the parking lot with an elevation gain of just 200 ft. Once you make it to the falls, there is plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view and the sound of the water hitting the rocks. The kids loved to explore the area and walked around the top of the waterfall fall where you can go as well and see a nice clean turquoise pool. The kids let us there lol. I woul say this waterfall is the one where the kids really explored. I would recommend this to the entire family. A bit long but not bag of elevation gain.

The Museum of the Plains Indian, situated in an unremarkable brick building, boasts a remarkable assortment of costumes, artwork, handicrafts and relics that celebrate the cultures of various indigenous tribes such as the Crow and Cree. The museum provides a fascinating insight into these tribes' history and customs through meticulously crafted exhibits. To fully understand the area's significance, visitors can join guided tours led by tribal members or take part in hikes offered by Sun Tours.
Museum has plenty of fascinating objects, art, clothing and information. Well worth the admission free. Staff were friendly and informative. Good washrooms (only accessible with the entry fee).

Lovely display, enjoyable chats with your resident artists. They are so talented. It's a shame your gift shop doesn't have more crafts from local crafters.

We loved this museum!! The exhibits were amazing - providing excellent information on some ways of life, tools, and excellent craftsmanship. We were there when there were some Black Fleet artists demonstrating their art - drawing and beading. It was lovely to watch them and talk to them. (We visited at the end of September. It was nicely attended but not crowded. We don’t know what it would be like in the summer.)
Elizabeth P — Google review
The museum itself is very good - I don’t think I’ve seen a more complete and well preserved collection of plains Indian artifacts anywhere else. The museum was informative and small enough that it’s not too much of a commitment to do the whole thing. The highlight of the entire tour was the native artist area where we got to speak with and watch local artists creating their wares. I unfortunately have to knock off a star for the gift shop. There’s a sign by the counter advertising locally made items, but you need to check them yourself - it doesn’t apply to everything in the shop, so double check tags before buying if you’re going with the intention of supporting local artisans.

Such a cool little museum! The works they have are so interesting and many are several centuries old. What’s even cooler is the room for local Blackfeet artists. Many of them work out of there and we had some lovely conversations with members of the tribe. Highly recommend.

Polebridge Mercantile & Bakery is a historic establishment located just outside Glacier National Park, about an hour north of Kalispell. Built in 1914, it offers a rich history and is renowned for its delicious pastries such as the famous Huckleberry Bear Claw. The bakery operates from April to November and provides a quaint atmosphere with spectacular mountain views.
Beyond impressed with this place. We stopped by on our way to the North Fork entrance of the park. In my opinion an absolute must for any Glacier trip. Pastries were great, everyone was incredibly nice, and they have a wide selection of other items if you need anything. The road here along the west side of the park is not paved, and it’s quite the bumpy ride. I’d recommend entering the park on the going to the sun road and then driving north through the park as far as you can to get here.

The drive to this place was beyond beautiful! Their baked goods are delicious. We purchased the poppy cream cheese, a honey bun, a cinnamon roll, the spinach and artichoke, and the pepperoni roll. They have some cute merch items to purchase. We also got a sweet little visit from the resident horse. The drive out is worth it alone.

We were there twice on my visit to Montana while camping on the flathead. I can't speak as to the accomodations but the bakery is amazing. Staff was helpful and genuine. Such a fun place after a long drive on mostly unpaved roads. The food is absolutely incredible (try the Huckleberry Bearclaw and the Pizza Rollie) and the staff in there are so kind and helpful. The cat sleeping on the merchandise was also a big hit for me. Check this out if you are in the area on the way to the North Fork entrance to Glacier National Park.

IMO it's worth the drive. The bumps on the gravel stretch weren't horrible, but DO expect points where the clouds of gravel dust take the visibility down to 10 feet or so. The Polebridge village is tiny but interesting. The views of the mountains are gorgeous. There is nothing unique about the store offerings and the prices seem extremely high even given how far off the beaten path this place is. Any staff I dealt with was polite but seemed to be "done with it" this late in the season.

Cracker Lake, located in Glacier National Park, is a stunning .6-mile-long turquoise lake fed by Canyon Creek. The glacial silt suspended in the water gives it a vivid color that captivates hikers. The trail offers breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and the sunlight striking colorful waves at the far end of the lake. Backpackers can drop their gear at one of three backcountry campsites and enjoy a mountainous panorama from a rocky outcrop overlooking the shoreline.
This is one of the best hidden gems in the Park. Jaw dropping lake, can't really describe its beauty in words. It's a 12 mile moderate hike. I kept my legs soaked in the cold water for about half an hour 😉

Beautiful hike in Many Glacier. We first wanted to hike Grinell Pass, but we where there end june so it was closed because of snow. Did the 13 miles (21.5km) walk up to Cracker Lake from the hotel parking. Parking lot was ful at 6.00am because of the construction work. The walk was okay, not to much height. We walked up to the bump of a grizzly within the first mile. Luckily it was walking away from us. At the top at Cracker Lake we've got charged by a 500 pound grizzly mom with two small cubs. We where lucky that there was a group of 6 other people right in front of us. One of them went in front of the bear and chased it away. The adrenaline was pumping. No one was harmed. Good to know the path is full of bears! Especially in summer when the berry bushes are out. We where there end of june, there was no berry at all and still spotted 2 grizzlys. When we drove back out of the park, we also saw a black bear grazing next to the road.

Guys, if you have not been here, you have to come. This was one of the funnest hikes we did in Glacier. It is relatively flat, 12 miles, but the end is amazing! The water is really cool and you can even jump off the cliffs into the water if it's a hot day. I would recommend coming here for sure if you have time. Great spot to picnic and there is a campsite as well.

Not a very hard hike at all. Finding parking in July is awful but parking anywhere in Glacier is abysmal. Trail starts out around the reservoir. I literally almost stepped on a sow and cub black bear while getting to the first creek crossing, luckily she was content munching vegetation. The trail then switchbacks up a ridge, eventually climbing up into fields of millions of wildflowers. We camped there, and it felt like there was a tornado going on. Huge gusts that actually collapsed the tent on us multiple times. First time that's ever happened. Reguardless, well worth the hike.

This has to be one of the most unique lakes I saw while at Glacier and well worth the somewhat lengthy hike. The trail wasn't terribly strenuous with long switchbacks on places where you did have to climb. We also saw a bear right of the trail during this hike, the only time during our visit in the park that we saw a bear while hiking. It was also fun to find the old mining equipment, and even find that it was manufactured near my hometown in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Incredible!! Yes it’s just as amazing as described. There is a great write up on the national park site that will guide you mile by mile practically. Very doable - don’t get deterred by the distance, it’s worth it. Late summer offered incredible blooms. Round trip was about 6 hours. ***Bear spray is a must! Lots of sightings of black and brown bears throughout the year on miles 2-4ish.

Yet another beautiful glacier lake within GNP. This is a tough trail but the destination is worth it. There are some spots that are pretty narrow on the trail. Once you get to the lake, make sure to stop and take a break and have some lunch! The water is absolutely beautiful

Located along the famous Going-to-the-Sun Road, The Loop is a picturesque switchback with a parking pullout that offers stunning views of Heaven's Peak. This spot is approximately halfway along the road and provides an excellent vantage point for capturing breathtaking scenery. Nearby attractions include Apgar Village, Haystack Falls, Triple Arches Bridge, Oberlin Bend, and Jackson Glacier.
End of June 2024 videos and pics. Gorgeous 180 degree view switchback road. There are two parking lots for both heading east or going west but only few spots. It's very serene, you can hear the stream from afar.

Such an amazing, awe inspiring national park. Would love to see Glacier National Park on a clear day; wildfire smoke in September certainly was a bummer after traveling from TN to Going to the Sun Road. We didn't realized wildfire smoke in September is common place in this area. Had we known, not sure we'd have driven the 16 hour round-trip for respiratory distress.

This trail is back breaking, intense, insanely beautiful, goes through many kinds of terrain, and once you get up above the chalet it gets even steeper and harder. There are several trail joints, such as the swiftcurrent overlook, the big saddle hump grinnell overlook and the highline which connects back towards logan pass. This area is the heart of the park and honestly this is one of the best trailheads in america hands down one of greatest hikes there ever was, the veiws at the top are some of the very best in all of the rocky mountains!

After traveling in over 10 NP I can safely say this is one of most amazing breathtaking views you can get. The best views are from the road where it's unsafe and you interfere with the traffic. From this spot you see not only the width but also the depth of the valley below. On a bright day the contrast btw the bright peaks and the dark valleys is too high to capture with a smartphone camera.

Nestled just outside Glacier National Park in East Glacier Park, Montana, the historic Glacier Park Lodge, also known as the Big Tree Lodge, boasts Swiss chalet-style architecture with towering Douglas Fir logs in its lobby. The lodge offers a range of accommodations including cozy rooms, spacious suites, and rustic cabins. Guests can enjoy amenities such as a 9-hole golf course, pool, restaurant, cafe and bar.
I was in awe, when I walked in. The massive vertical logs 🪵as support pillars were unbelievable. The antique chandeliers and light fixtures were great. I can't imagine what it took to build such a structure for that time period. Most of the rooms are quaint and for the most part, the bathrooms have been somewhat updated to accommodate modern bathrooms🛁. The restaurant has a decent menu for each meal. The staff in the restaurant are very nice. The views of the mountains🏔 are amazing from the back side of the lodge. Sunsets are amazing too. Visiting Glacier National Park was amazing. A truly beautiful experience!

Hotel looks beautiful on the outside and in the lobby, but the positives end there. We knew we were booking a historic hotel without modern updates and amenities, but the quality of the rooms was terrible. I cannot believe we spent almost $500 for one night here and it was easily one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a hotel. While I understand there is no AC or elevator, I was shocked by the lack of cleanliness and size of the bathrooms. They were tiny and extremely outdated. The worst part by far was the noise that you could hear in between rooms. We could hear detailed conversations from the guests on both sides of our walls. Both rooms woke up at 5 am and immediately started talking and using their phones extremely loudly. I could even hear the guest next to me use the bathroom…..multiple times…. It was impossible to sleep in that. The front desk staff was extremely kind, and the property itself was beautiful. There is hardly any town near by to even get a decent meal at. We should not have stayed here and wasted so much money on such a bad nights sleep.

We stayed at GPL last week and had an amazing time. The lodge is beautiful and walking distance to the train station. All the staff were helpful and friendly, food was great. The gardens were beautiful, and of course the setting is perfect. The room and the bed were comfortable, the only issue we had was with the size of the bathroom (not a lot of room), but we expect this with an older lodge. Everything was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.
Patti W — Google review
An absolute dump. An awful lot of money for not much. While an interesting property with great public spaces, I've stayed at Super8's that were three times as nice for 1/3 the price. It's about 1960 in the rooms. No TV, fridge, microwave, or coffee maker in rooms today reeks of cheap. But hey come to our coffee stand with $6 lattes and restaurant with $22 breakfast buffet. The bed at least is comfy and the pillows seem new. But you can't eat or sleep atmosphere and they are milking this place for all they can, and doing all they can to steer guests to their expensive food and beverages. The building is suffering from not-so-benign neglect, has no security, and entry doors flap in the breeze. Half expecting to greet a bear in the hall. Definitely did not expect to see a bat roosting outside my door. The place is a trip. Save your money, stay anywhere else, and come here for a drink before having dinner elsewhere over the expensive offerings here.
Andrew T — Google review
Unbelievably close to the train station. Very nice lobby. Great views. Wonderful garden and grounds. Nice gift shop. Great staff, especially the bell hops. No elevator so if you’re on the 3rd floor you can really appreciate the “bell-a-vator “. The place is remarkably upkeep with renovations as it is almost 100 years old. I am very glad we stayed here for our first visit to Glacier National Park.

This was our first time at the Glacier Park Lodge. First impression was very nice (and very old). Our room was nice but it had a step/down up to the bathroom. Not sure why but it could have a falling hazard for older folks or someone with mobility issues. We ate breakfast at the Empire Lounge. The buffet was $22 per person and was told they offered made-to-order omelets but there was no one at the station. The other eggs were dry and not very good. We ate other meals at the bar restaurant and it was good but pricey. The location of the lodge is far away from larger cities but we were picked up by two companies we had made arrangements with thru our travel agency. They showed up on time and we enjoyed our tours.

I’m writing this review because I had limited information when I booked the golf house through the lodge. I was pleasantly surprised by the accommodations! 1. It is a good distance from the lodge itself. Walkable but most likely you will drive to go to the lodge. About 4 min drive north of the lodge in a residential area. 2. The area surrounding the entire east side of the park is very rural. Basic camp supply store with some restaurants/ food trucks mixed in but be cautious of hours they are open! The lodge has restaurants with limited menus and pricey but the food was good. 3. The golf house itself is a modular home that has been added too with limited updating. That being said it was completely clean and comfortable for what we needed. I’ll include some pictures, but don’t expect anything fancy. Also no air conditioning! They did have a lot of fans available. It is located near some hiking paths and right on the golf course which is busier than I would have expected. Two bedrooms with two double beds in each and two bathrooms that connect to each room. A full kitchen, living room and a nice big deck outside. 4. Overall the location was great to explore the east side of glacier when other accommodations are already booked! We drove about an hour to Many Glacier and to St Mary’s multiple days. It is perfect for families.

Fantastic location with exceptional staff. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. The property’s rich history adds so much character, and you couldn’t ask for a better base if you’re serious about hiking. Surrounded by plenty of great food options, it made for an unforgettable stay. I’m already looking forward to coming back.

The Wild Goose Island Lookout is a must-visit spot in Glacier National Park. Located just off the Going-to-the-Sun road, it offers a stunning view of the tiny tree-covered island in the middle of Saint Mary Lake, with the majestic peaks of the Continental Divide as a backdrop. This picturesque location provides ample opportunities for breathtaking photos and family portraits, especially during twilight. Visitors can also enjoy a leisurely hike down to the lakeshore from this lookout point.
It is such an amazing place to be. There wasn’t many people there so that made it a bit more majestically looking. Would recommend!

If you are driving from the east, park wherever, but don't try to view from the eastern-most vantage point. Instead, continue walking to near the top of the pull-off and you'll not only find a wide but gentle path, which allows you to get the best view and photos. Also, there are some large, flat slabs of boulder you can stand on and get an even better view.

The Wild Goose Island Overlook is an essential stop along the Going-to-the-Sun Road. The Island sits gracefully amidst the clear waters of Saint Mary Lake, serving as a breathtaking centerpiece to the panoramic view. The lush forests and towering mountains surrounding the lake enhance the appeal of this captivating viewpoint. However, the only downside is the limited space and parking availability, which might stop from fully enjoying the viewpoint with ease and comfort.

Hiking area
The Grinnell Glacier Trailhead is the starting point for a moderately challenging 7.6-mile round trip hike that offers breathtaking views of rugged peaks and the remaining glacier in the park. The trail begins at Many Glacier Hotel, where visitors can also enjoy picnicking facilities before embarking on their journey. Trekking poles are recommended for this strenuous hike, which features lots of stairs and inclines. As hikers ascend, they are treated to ever-changing scenery and stunning vistas.
This is hands down the best trail I’ve ever done, seriously, oh my goshhhh! Here are some tips if you're planning to do the Grinnell Glacier Trail 1.Shuttle ticket is a must. At 6:55 PM the day before your hike, get on the Recreation.gov app and look for the Grinnell shuttle ticket. At 7:00 PM sharp, hit reserve—ours sold out in under 30 seconds. 2. Getting there: You can either drive through the reservation, or go through the park for a slower, scenic route. We chose the first option. 3. Parking: Try to park near shuttle stops 1–3. If the shuttle is full, it might pass you. 4. At the hotel stop: Get off, use the restroom, and refill your water. 5. When you’re ready to hike, turn left. The "real" trailhead on AllTrails is closed. You’ll need to go the opposite direction from there. 6. First part of the trail: You’ll walk around the lake. We even saw a cute moose swimming! About 80% of the trail is fully exposed to the sun. Bring plenty of water, wear good shoes, and pace yourself. The trail is super well maintained, the views are absolutely stunning, and it’s 100% worth it. That said, it’s also very crowded, more people than I’ve seen on any trail before. The upside? Probably no bears around. We didn’t carry bear spray and felt safe the whole time because you’re never alone on the trail. We saw lots of ground squirrels, a herd of sheep, and a few marmots. I’d rate this trail as moderate. It’s long, but not technically hard, only a few switchbacks and nothing slippery, even when crossing several streams. Totally unforgettable experience.
Churaibhon W — Google review
What an amazing hike! It’s about 11 miles round trip, and you get beautiful views the entire way. The distance might seem a lot, but the elevation gain is moderate, which makes it very manageable. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in the area

We got up at 4:30 A.M. to make sure we got a parking spot at Many Glacier Hotel, which is a National Historic Hotel of America, to hike to Grinnell Glacier. Make sure to use the bathroom at the hotel and bring PLENTY of water and snacks. My husband and I have never drank so much water on our hikes before. We brought 9 bottles and drank all of them by the time the hike ended and normally we drink 4-6 bottles total. We could have easily drank more, but wanted to make sure we had enough for the trip. We also brought sandwiches, granola bars, sunscreen, and bear spray due to the trail heavily being used by bears and the trail being exposed in the sun for 80+% of the time. The first 0.9 miles is ADA accessible since it is paved. We clocked 13+ miles of hiking even though the sign says it's only 5.3 miles one way with an elevation gain of 2,596 feet. It was rough. Mainly due to having to make sure you pick up your feet high enough for each step due to all the rocks on the trail. We were being tripped up by them several times throughout the hike and saw many others almost take a tumble. We did bring our poles, which we used and we stretched the morning of. However, when we were hiking back, that is usually my time to shine. Descending on a hike I find so easy and able to do efficiently, but this time, my feet, knees, lower back, and ankles were sore. I've never dealt with sore ankles on a hike before, but it was probably from all the balancing on the small rocks you have to step on. There are log steps, and steep stone stairs on this trail. Along the trail, you hike beside Swiftcurrent Lake, Lake Josephine, which I highly recommend going to the dock area to feast your eyes on the beautiful reflection in the lake with the mountains and pine trees, and then you start to go up the mountainside and can see Grinnell Lake below before you get to Upper Grinnell Lake. Honestly, we enjoyed the views of the 3 lakes from above more than we enjoyed the final destination. This could be because we did Alaska recently and have seen a bunch of glaciers and even did a 3 hour hike on one, so the views there were better. Still, if you've never hiked to a glacier, I am sure you will be blown away because a girl, probably in her early 20s, said to us, "this is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen!" We were so happy for her! It is COLD up there, so bring winter gloves, a beanie, and a hoodie to help with the cold. Luckily, we came prepared. This hike took us about 7.5 hours. We took a lot of breaks. Wildlife sightings: Right before getting to Lake Josephine, there was a HUGE bull moose and cow moose a little off the trail in the woods. We might have missed it if people weren't taking pictures. We couldn't believe the size and heard the female moose whining. Then we saw a mountain goat on the way back from Grinnell Glacier napping on the red rock face. He looked like a white blob from afar, but closer up, you could see him better. We saw several squirrels and chipmunks and maybe even a pika. As we were driving out, before we left the park, we did see a Big Grizzly munching in the field and a black bear cub munching on a tree right off the side of the road. Do NOT block traffic. The Ranger got pissed at the people who stopped traffic at both ends. We did meet a lovely older couple that we hiked back with and shared great conversations with. We hope their future endeavors bring them all good things in life. (Follow us on TikTok for ideas: nomad.lifestyle) After our hike, we rewarded ourself with bison burgers and a drink. I got the Huckleberry Smash (very good) and my husband got the Mountain Man, a Scottish Ale, which was also really good. The burgers came with fries at no extra cost, unlike Eddie's Mercantile in Agar Village, and the service was unbelievably fast. Not a bad place to stop to eat. Tad pricey though. Also, the one complaint we do have about it, is that the music they played wasn't always family friendly. They played the unedited version of "My Humps" by Fergie, which includes curse words and the obvious innuendo.

The most incredible hike we’ve ever done. Spectacular views the entire time, and we even got to see a bear! We started from the parking lot instead of taking the boat, and it’s gorgeous but definitely exhausting by the end. The last 1 to 1 1/2 miles to the glacier are very steep. Highly recommend taking the boat if possible - it will help save some energy, even if you miss out on a few nice views.

What a beautiful gift from Nature ! We could not get the boat tour tickets as those were sold out , therefore had to hike 12 miles . I will do it again if I have the chance ! The views were breathtaking . Took us 7 hour round trip , but we spent 45 min at the top

I traveled trough all of the US and visited all important Nationalpark. But this hike blew my mind...the view on the Grinell Lake was just straight out of a book for example of perfect nature and perfect mountains...along the way there were so many wildflowers, I never saw that before. Wow don't miss it! I was there in late June.

Amazing hike! Took 5 hours and ~10 miles total. Did get the return boat on the way back. Only saw rams and chipmunks. The weather was a variety. Got warm, then cold, then rainy. Once at the glacier it was raining and got very chilly. Overall was a beautiful experience. Was super sore for like 2 days after the hike! Def was strenuous but I don’t exercise or hike regularly so I would say this is a challenging but definitely doable hike. Did on 9/14/24, started at 12pm and only drove around parking lot 1 time and got a parking spot. Was a cloudy / chilly day.
Vickie P — Google review
One word for this hike: incredible! This hike allows you to walk by 2 lakes and get a birds-eye view of 3 lakes from the mountainside! The water is crystal clear and the turquoise shade of Grinnell lake is phenomenal! The hike itself is uphill the whole way, but it won't get too steep until the last half mile where you encounter large steps to take you up yo the glacier itself! Having the ability to get up close and personal with a glacier is such a humbling experience. Carry your bear spray! There were 2x sightings of bear on our norning hike, and we saw some bighorn sheep rams having an argument at the picnic area lol. Enjoy the hike! It's totally worth it! But get here early!! Lot is full by 7:30am

Property was cute and quaint, right outside of Glacier National Park. Pictures were deceiving as there was no view of lake from cabins. In addition, there’s a train track VERY nearby and makes peace impossible from the sound of the train all day and night. Finally, there’s a $250 non negotiable damage deposit for the cabins that was not stated in Expedia at all and once you arrive, the cost of your stay is nonrefundable so if you do not have the money for the deposit, you’ll lose the money for your stay as well. We just want other families to be aware. This cost is in case you damage anything, of course, but would have liked to know these details before reserving.

We stayed in the motel here. The room was basic but not comfortable. There was no bar fridge, toaster or kettle which are staples of all basic lodging. Our sheets had stains on them. We asked for them to be replaced the next day and came back to just a fresh top sheet placed on an unmade bed. This is basic lodging in a good location but could definitely be improved. These sentiments were shared by some staff, acknowledging that the motel was not at the same standard as other lodging provided. Wifi did not work which was frustrating as we had no service either in the park. Shower was temperamental. Staff at the RV park we’re helpful with storing our luggage after check our.

This stunning site features a well-known waterfall that cascades over a rock wall, creating gushing waterfalls up to 100 feet long that can splash onto the road. The amount of water flowing down the wall varies depending on snowmelt and the season, offering different experiences for visitors.
Very cool wall. Your car will get a bath if you get close enough!

This point was our first stop on ‘Going to the Sun’ road from west entrance towards Logan pass. Beautiful views of Glacier park from this point.
Arvind D — Google review
Cool to see. You may have to park around the corner and go look. Parking is non existent right at the weeping wall.

Lots of water on the second day GTTSR opened. It is few feet from The Big Bend/Paradise Meadows. The most popular stop of the whole park.

Driving under these water falls is amazing! Make sure to keep your cameras ready when you approach.

This is a really cool spot.

The wall weeps best in the spring and after heavy rain. It's a great place to cool off on a hot day!

Nature & Parks
Running Eagle Falls, also known as Trick Falls, is a stunning 32-foot waterfall located in Glacier National Park. It is easily accessible and can even be reached by wheelchair users. During spring, the waterfall appears to fall in on itself due to a larger influx of water, concealing the cascade below that emerges from an underground cave. The trail leading to the overlook of Running Eagle Falls is considered stroller-friendly and wheelchair accessible.
Easy, flat trail that is partially paved. The waterfall is gorgeous and the creek is a great place to cool your feet off on a hot day. We went early and it wasn’t crowded.
Shana D — Google review
Very easy trail. It is a quick walk to the waterfall. Pretty spectacular waterfall coming out of the hillside, good swimming hole for hot days. Not a lot of people there.
Sadie K — Google review
It's a nice and quiet place to enjoy the nature. The eagle falls itself is probably the top attraction but I also liked the nature trail.
Farshina N — Google review
A beautiful and short hike to do with friends or family. Trail is very flat and easy. The view of Running Eagle Falls at the end is wonderful, and a classic image of Glacier Park. Would definitely recommend if looking for something quick to do with a nice payoff.
Gabriella — Google review
Truly incredible cave waterfall. The half mile walk in is paved if you take the right hand path and very accessible for those with mobility problems.
Lindsay M — Google review
Came out last week. Low crowds, easy in and out. Great short one for any kiddos, easily do this and a few other ones if your planning the day out. Good stroll along the stream as well!
Nhan T — Google review
Perfect and quick little hike to a very interesting waterfall. Due to high water levels, both falls were going. Highly recommend.
Andrew B — Google review
Wonderful easy hike to a beautiful waterfall. Some paved walk, stream crossing over a small single lane bridge. Trail gets very picturesque and pretty with every step!

Nature & Parks
Baring Falls in Montana is a popular nature preserve waterfall that offers an easy trek and a serene natural environment. The falls provide an epic view and are known for their small cliffs, making them a favorite among visitors. The area is also great for adventurous activities and wildlife photography, with ouzel birds often spotted along the creek. While not the tallest or most unique waterfall in the park, its easy access makes it worth visiting.
We saw these falls doing the Baring, St. Mary, Virginia Falls hike. This one is gorgeous, but I feel like they just keep getting better the further you go.
Leah P — Google review
Easy hike to this falls. We parked in a little are between sunrift gorge and the Virginia falls trail so we added this onto it. Highly recommend doing that. I really liked this little waterfall and climbing to the outcrop right in front.
Andrew B — Google review
Beautiful boat ride across St Mary's Lake and then a quick easy walk to these beautiful falls
J H — Google review
Less than half mile easy hike will reward you with amazing falls amidst unreal natural beauty!
Ronak S — Google review
Easy hike down from parking, more strenuous to get back
Buddy E — Google review
Nice short trail and it's worth the trip. I recommend getting there as early as you can otherwise it will be packed.
Andy M — Google review
Great hike for everyone. This is a short hike out to lovely falls. The trail follows through where there was a forest fire a few years back so most of the trail is exposed, giving you great views of the mountains. There are lots of wildflowers to view along the way.
Katy E — Google review
This is a pretty cool little waterfall. It drops about 25 feet before flowing into St. Mary Lake. I recommend getting here extremely early though, parking is bad and it gets terribly busy. This is an easy hike for the kids, it is about 0.8 miles round-trip with little elevation change.
