The Gibbon Conservation Center is a must-visit for animal lovers interested in learning about these fascinating primates. Established in the 1970s, the center is dedicated to preserving and researching these endangered, acrobatic apes native to Southeast, South, and East Asia. Visitors can book guided tours to explore the conservation areas and learn about the center's efforts in rescuing and caring for injured gibbons.
Great effort to save the Gibbons! It's a dirt road when you drive in but it's easy to find and the folks working there are very friendly. Cute little gift shop too.

Very interesting place for animal lovers. It is a nonprofit rescue and conservation center. The director gave us a tour for one hour and answered all of our questions about the gibbons. She was in no rush to end the tour, and was happy to spend her time talking with us all. They do good work and the gibbons seem very well taken care of and the breeding program is important to the species.
Lynn M — Google review
Such a fun experience. The guide was very knowledgeable and kind. The Gibons were so much fun to see and at the end of the tour they all broke into a Gibson song. Amazing time.
David — Google review
I had the chance to visit the Gibbons Conservation Center with my dad last Sunday, and it was such a memorable experience. The tour gave us a look at several species of gibbons, including infants with their mom. It was both fun and educational to learn more about these amazing animals who are quite vocal and social. What stood out most to me is the passion and dedication the staff puts into caring for these endangered primates and raising awareness about their conservation. It’s a small, intimate setting that makes the experience feel personal, and it left me with a deep appreciation for the work they’re doing to protect gibbons. I highly recommend a visit—it’s a wonderful way to spend an hour or two on the weekend, and you'll leave knowing your visit helps support an important cause.

Very informative, tour guide was knowledgeable. Kids enjoyed it! Be sure to bring water on hot days

We took a private tour of the Gibbon Conservation Center today with Jody and she was amazing!!! She exceeded our expectations with her knowledge, details, and tour. This is absolutely a MUST place to bring friends and family. I couldn't stop smiling in awe listening to the Gibbon's sing. I plan to take my family back for a tour over the holidays. Please support such an important place. There is nothing else like it in the USA!!!
Liane O — Google review
This was a wonderful experience. The guided tour was excellent and we got to understand the plight of these beautiful creatures and come to understand how close in nature they are to us. It's a great family outing and one that I will always remember.
J S — Google review
Flew in from Texas solely to come to this facility. Gabi gave us an incredibly and in depth tour despite the pouring rain! Really cemented my love for these little fellas to see the work they do there to play a vital role in conservation. It's a must see if you're ever in the greater LA area.

Six Flags Magic Mountain is a well-known amusement park with a variety of modern roller coasters and rides suitable for young children. Located just 30 minutes north of downtown Los Angeles, it offers year-round fun and abundant sunshine. The park is home to world record-breaking roller coasters such as Twisted Colossus, The Riddler's Revenge, and X2. Visitors can enjoy scenic views from the hilly terrain while experiencing thrilling rides.
Six Flags Magic Mountain is an absolutely incredible park – a true paradise for roller-coaster lovers! The entire park is packed with amazing coasters, and we were really impressed by how short the waiting times were: usually between 5 and 15 minutes, and around 20 minutes for the newest ride. It made the whole day super smooth and enjoyable. We highly recommend booking your tickets in advance, and if possible, choose a package that includes food and drinks – it’s a great deal and makes the visit even more convenient. The park is clean, well-organized, and the staff were friendly throughout the day. We had an unforgettable experience and want to say thank you for an amazing time! We enjoyed it so much that we would gladly come back again – even traveling all the way from Germany. Highly recommended for anyone who loves thrills, speed, and a full day of fun!
Marco S — Google review
Amazing park. So many fun coasters and rides to choose from. The themes of the rides are phenomenal and match perfectly with the park. The food is great and I recommend buying the day pass and the refillable water bottle, especially on the warmer days. The funnel cake at the entrance is to die for. Definitely one of the best, if not the best, funnel cakes I've ever had. Depending on the day and time, some rides may be an hour or more wait time. However, during the first couple hours after the park opens and before it closes, the ride times go down exponentially.
Abby W — Google review
Best park I have ever been to. I got to race a car and then got my spine broken on a wooden coaster right after. Then I failed the riddlers riddle so I had to stand up on his ride then I wondered why the train wont stop on Wonder Women (seriously guys like, it dosent even stop at the loading station so you have to jump in and hope you lock in in time) but I rode it like 6 or 7 times anyways. Then Batman turned me upside down and in the procces I got kidnapped by Lex Luther and got dropped from 400 feet onto the biggest pendulum ride in the world. As I stumbled away I suddendly got a green cup that let me get a free refill. Idk what that ment so I stepped onto a orange coaster because I thought there would be some Fanta there but instead it made me Scream on Scream. After that I tried something else that was orange and instead got strapped onto a ride that used to hold the title for worlds tallest ride and into a tunnel on Goliath. Ready to give up hope I sit in a nice green colored seat... only to race a blue coaster train in Teisted Collosis. When I thought the ride was over it faked me out and went for a 2nd loop around the track. Then I spotted a coaster with a loop and I remembered something, "This is a great begginer coaster called the New Revolution, to get a good warmup in you should ride this ride to eliminate the fear of hights" (Random Youtuber). So I step on and instead i get a launch at 80 mph while hearing "Wait I forgot the shoulder straps" and got put into the worlds highest top hat loop on Full Throttle. I later found out what a top hat loop was when i went on top of the loop into a near vertical 160 ft drop at the end. By then I found a cool red coaster called Viper, after mistaking it for a Coca Cola (its an honest mistake anyone can make) I broke my neck in 12 deffrent locations (please dont ride it it will hurt, goos layout though a refurbishment would be great for it) It started to get dark so I got into line for something called Tangy since I thought it was a food center for tangy foods. Instead I got on a ride where I hung allmost 200ft above the air and went on the worlds biggest pretsal loop. Then I thought I found the exit. But then I got strapped into a ride. After all the rides I went on that day I knew this cant be much worse. My first tip off that it was worse was when the train started to move backwards out the station. After reaching the peak at around 200ft I go on the first drop backwards. After screaming my lungs out the train bobs up and turns out that was a 10 ft dip. Then music starts playing and I fall backwards at 200 ft while doing a backflip at a 90° straight down angle then forced into a 180ft tall raven loop and doing a turn to see the whole park lit up. Then I do a flip again and get blazed with flamethrowers on a smaller loop before flipping again and pulling into the station. It was so good I got everything in the store related to it (I dont have pictures of it right now but it wasent a lot just a patch and a shirt) and rode it again because that was the best experience in my life. Then I finally exited and I was sad because even though every ride sounded like some sort of extreme tourture you would go through for commiting a horrible crime... it was still fun in the end. 67/10, I will be coming back here as soon as possible to ride X2 again. Cant wait to see what else you guys cook up. Thanks :).
Floppers — Google review
I’ve been to Magic Mountain twice now, and omg I love it so much. we started with x2, so we saved a lot on waiting in lines & were able to try every ride in the park. my fav rides here are x2, tatsu, twisted collusus & wonder woman. twisted collusus is so fun that we did it 4x a day. x2 at night is something i think everyone should experience because the views are actually immaculate🫶🏽 tatsu🐉 is INSANELY fun too. dueling on twisted is a-ma-zing🎢 all rides here are fun & there are so many options to choose from! the only ride i didn’t like was viper bc the loops are just not fun, but besides that, the park is amazing.
Simran D — Google review
Six Flags Magic Mountain is an absolute blast from start to finish. The park is packed with energy, tons of rides, and plenty of spots to chill between thrills. The standout for me was Wonder Woman — easily the best ride of the day. Fast, smooth, and totally worth any wait. Whether you’re going with family or a group of friends, it makes for a perfect day trip. The mix of big coasters, fun themed areas, and general “let’s-just-have-a-good-time” vibes really comes together. If you’re looking for a full day of fun, this park delivers.
WanderAndDine — Google review
Forever a classic, BEST amusement park for thrills! My son's friends invited him to Six Flags for his birthday and I got to be the lucky parent to drive them there. My 9 year old daughter and I took advantage of making it a mommy and daughter date while the others had their own fun. The lines were surprisingly short. The most we waited was maybe 35 minutes. We were able to get on 15 rides! (Loved the app for wait time). The staff was attentive with thorough cart check, which made me feel safe in high speed roller coasters of its stature. For $32 and some change in got ALL my park pictures digitally. Which also included video clips of the coasters before the actual picture capture. One of my best experiences at Six Flags.

The William S Hart Museum, once the home of the renowned silent-film actor, offers a captivating experience with its extensive collection of Native American and Western art. The opulent Spanish colonial-style mansion is adorned with fine furs and hides, while the picturesque grounds feature hiking trails leading to alpacas, tortoises, grouse, and water buffalo. This 265-acre Horseshoe Ranch also hosts film screenings and concerts throughout the year.
Good fun for walking around and seeing all of the animals; Hart's Mansion is always interesting to look around in. After the self guided house tour, there was even a craft corner where kids could make a picture frame in the shape of a horse shoe for free. Staff was very friendly and made the experience all the more enjoyable!

We hated that the museum was closed because of Covid but my husband and I enjoyed hiking up to it. We saw bison and birds and the beautiful building and Mary Ellen’s tea room. It was peaceful and quiet and we enjoyed a picnic on the lawn at a picnic table. It was a perfect length walk.

This park indeed is a hidden gem per previous comments. I love hiking here! The Bisons are such great listeners. The views are amazing the higher you go.

I thought this place was so cool because almost everything inside the house was from 90 years ago which i thought was cool. The mansion was huge. 10,000 square feet to be more exact! I definitely recommend to anyone who is thinking about it and the views are amazing!!

Beautiful place to visit, great nature views, city views, trails, museum, and buffalo. A lot to see and do in one place and for free. Hopefully it stays free. 😀👍🏼

Wonderful resource for local interests. Historic setting, plentiful park areas for picnics, quinceaneras, or just a fun day. Barnyard, trading post, and railway cars, oh and bison too.
Carl B — Google review
I love this place. It's beautiful, peaceful, serene, interesting and a wealth of history. They have restrooms, plenty of parking, a gift shop and a picnic area. There are several places to explore. The accompanying photo was taken in The Ranch House Museum located near the parking lot. You can also take a walk up to the main house. Along the way there are places to check out and it's possible to see the free roaming bison. They are located in the hills on the other side of the fence. Once you get to the house, you can take a guided tour. Don't be afraid to ask questions. The folks here are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. If you can't do the walk due to an impairment ask about driving up. Even though I've been here on many occasions, I manage to learn something new or see something different each time.

The Gentle Barn is a sanctuary for over 170 rescued animals, including cows, pigs, turkeys, and more. Visitors can interact with the animals during a tour of the Upper Barnyard and learn about the barn's mission to provide a nurturing environment for both animals and people. The barn aims to teach kindness and compassion towards animals and offers opportunities to hug, pet, and feed the resident animals.
This place was glorious! Such a wonderful experience. The animals are so calm and beautiful, they give off so much loving energy. The place is really cool with so many different things to see and experience. It was really cute how the cows had Halloween bows and the guides were in costumes! All of the guides were sweet and informative. Had a delicious vegan dog in a cool and spooky vampire/Halloween cart. 10/10 will go back. Bought stuff in the gift shop to support the sanctuary 💖💖💖

This place is freaking amazing, a sanctuary, a home, a mission for providing healing for loads of rescue animals that each have their own story. While the animals get their own therapy, you can come swing by for some much needed therapy through a hug or some belly rubs (with consent). Theres tons to do here and it’s a great spot for the entire family. They do accept walk-ins, but it’s a pretty limited size, so it’s better to make a reservation. Also, they do sell snacks on site, but everything is plant based if that matters to you. We tried some snacks and everything was yummy. The kiddos especially liked the chocolate chip cookies!
Frank B — Google review
It was a neat experience to see farm animals up close and make physical contact with so many of them and give them love. My three kids (ages 4, 7, 9) enjoyed it a lot. Interacted with and viewed: horses, ponies, donkeys, cows, peacocks, llamas, emu, male and female turkeys, pigs, goats, sheep, chickens. The staff were friendly though their knowledge seemed mainly isolated to the animal(s) they were watching. They knew some about the other animals but not a lot. Street parking. Hand washing stations. Shaded place to eat food (which you can bring or purchase) - vegan only. The founder gave the introduction when we arrived. She seems legit in terms of being true to the mission of The Gentle Barn. My son, who was the one child not interested in this activity, chose to brush the cows. He really seemed to like that part. For me, hugging the cows was the best part of the activity. It's a neat experience to hug a 2500 pound animal.
Chris M — Google review
The Gentle Barn is a place where compassion comes to life. Every animal has been through something, and seeing them safe, loved, and thriving is deeply moving. The staff’s kindness and the peaceful setting make this a truly healing experience — not just for the animals, but for the visitors too. ❤️🐮🐄🦃🐐🐓🐷🐖
Kahawana S — Google review
I love The Gentle Barn so much. They have so much love and respect for all of their animals and seem to take such great care of them. They teach people how to read their body language, to be gentle, and respectful, which I have never seen anywhere else. 90% of the staff seem really nice, other seem annoyed by your existence, and others seem like they would rather not talk to anyone (which isn't great when you're supposed to speak to them about how to pet the animals etc). But the owners.... wow!! Absolute angels. Heros. I hope they never change. I would 100% recommend The Gentle Barn to everyone, and will definitely be back one day!
Ashley M — Google review
My friend wanted to hug a cow which we were able to do and so much more. The animals are so sweet and gentle and the staff and volunteers are everywhere and very helpful. I never imagined I’d pet an emu or gave a turkey fall asleep in my lap. Go early cause it can get hot and bring water. Also plan to get dirty because you’ll be walking and sometimes sitting in the dirt to get close to the animals. They’re doing very powerful work and being with the animals is really healing
Steph M — Google review
Celebrated my fiances bday here with our kids. We all loved it. Learned a lot, got to hug some cows and feed some horses. You can tell they care a lot about their animals. All employees and volunteers were extremely sweet and informative.
Nicholas F — Google review
My girlfriend and I had such a great and powerful experience here. It is unbelievable how well run this place is. All the animals (even the small ones) have their own volunteer to watch over them and provide information about them, and you can hang out with and pet the animals as long as they are comfortable with. We never felt rushed to move on from any animal, and we got to spend a lot of time with each and every one. It was very moving hearing about what they have been through, and so powerful to learn what this organization is able to do to provide them with a dignified life.

Historical landmark
Old Town Newhall stands as the historic heart of Santa Clarita, boasting a rich legacy that dates back to its origins with Charles Mentry's pioneering oil well. This charming neighborhood has evolved into a vibrant downtown area, seamlessly blending its historical roots with contemporary flair. Visitors can explore an eclectic mix of boutique shops, art galleries, and delightful eateries that line the streets. The revitalization efforts have preserved Old Town Newhall’s western charm while introducing over 60 unique businesses to the community.
Historical district of Santa Clarita that reflects the “Old Town” label well. Plenty of restaurants and shops to stroll into. There’s also sufficient FREE street parking and a lot just down the main road.
Braedyn B — Google review
I went on a Sunday. Found out real quick. The only type business open was restaurants on Main street in the heart of Newhall. There were approximately 4 botiques open at the most. If you are going to shop, don't go on a Sunday. On a positive note, the parking garage was free, centrally located, ADA elevator, and open spaces galore!
Anthony R — Google review
A little bit smaller, a bit less populated with stores and people, a bit less foot traffic and a bit more car traffic than I'd hoped for based on other reviews. Maybe in a few more years of the city pushing for new and interesting development, Old Town newhall is going to kick all kinds of arse, but right now it just seems like it's in a developmental stage. It's too bad, they have the makings of something which could be truly great. With that amazing library as a centerpiece, Old Town newhall could definitely become something memorable, creative, artistic, and hopefully, a little weird. But it's not quite there yet.

Nestled in the picturesque Santa Clarita Valley, Placerita Canyon Nature Center offers a blend of natural beauty and rich history. Managed by the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation, this 350-acre wildlife sanctuary features seven trails covering over 12 miles, leading to scenic views and a seasonal waterfall. The center also boasts picnic areas, historic monuments, and regular events for nature enthusiasts and families.
I love this nature center! There's so much to see. To me, one of the coolest features was their collection of bird feathers. Really neat. The Canyon and Waterfall trails are great if you're up for some adventure. Don't forget to check out their gift shop and the caged birds and snakes on display. Finally, don't leave without checking out the "Oak of the Golden Dream" nearby.

Tons of free parking. No entry fee for the park. Hikes vary from flat nature hikes to multi-hour treks across the hills. Great museum and nature center with injured birds of prey in cages. A volunteer even had a great horned owl out for us to see. Very east hike to the historic cabin and golden oak. Still lots of stuff in bloom in June.

Enjoyed coming here! Had a good time seeing the birds and hearing the noises from all the different animals from the from the display cases. The bee case was fascinating because it was opened in on the back and bees were entering it naturally and adding to their hive. In the back there is a walking trail and you can come here for for special events.

Canyon trail is easy 2 hours there and back. Some slight inclines but overall level. Feels very safe. Cool facts about parks history and i saw a buncha deer!! You have to go after a rain to see waterfall. It was all dried up. I may try the harder trail next time. Cool bird sanctuary.

What an interesting place! Fascinating history and great staff with solid knowledge. Definitely worth a stop — whether you’re on your way to LA or already in town. You can learn a lot about local history. Walker and his family are a compelling example of American independence. This is also where the first gold in California was discovered.

Perfect spot for all levels and dog-friendly. We loved seeing the beautiful birds at the nature rehab center. There are trail maps, plenty of parking, benches and trash/recycling bins, a bathroom, tons of picnic tables, a butterfly garden, a historic cabin, a pond, a dry creek bed, and there was even a little amphitheater/stage area with benches that looked suitable for a wedding or small concert.

What a treat! Great nature center! They had several birds, tarantulas, snakes, an active bee hive, and lots of information on the area. I was here to go on a hike, had no idea there was a nature center. Highly recommend, I'll be going back

Awesome place to go hiking, trails are not too strenuous and there's benches to rest or just look to sit and around. I was surprised to see so many Beatles and butterflies specimens in the visitors center along with live rattlesnakes and tarantulas.

Water & Amusement Parks
Theme park
Hurricane Harbor Los Angeles is a seasonal water park open from June to September, located just 30 minutes north of downtown Los Angeles. It offers a variety of attractions including steep slides, a lazy river, wave pool, and kids' area. The park is part of the larger Six Flags Magic Mountain complex in Santa Clarita, which provides year-round fun and entertainment for visitors.
I can't believe I live 20 minutes away from Six Flags. Oh well, I had an incredible time at Hurricane Harbor! The park was clean, well-organized, and energetic from the moment we walked in. The staff was friendly and helpful, and lifeguards were visible and attentive throughout the day, which made me feel safe while still having a blast. The water rides were a perfect mix of thrills and relaxation. The Black ride gave us the adrenaline rush we were looking for, while Lazy River and Wave Pool were ideal for just kicking back. Even on a hot day, the lines moved faster than expected, and there were plenty of shaded spots to cool down between attractions. The sandwich we bought from Cowabunga Grill was cold, dry, and surprisingly expensive! It cost $43 for two sandwiches with classic chips, bags, and one cup of lemonade. Red Eye's Kitchen has more varieties of food, but the waiting line was long. Then, the locker is expensive too, with a minimum price of $16 You have to pay to rent tubes. I think they should have them free for their members. Everything there is just money, money, money! Parking was easy, and the whole experience was family-friendly but fun for adults.

We had a great time at Hurricane Harbor! The park was clean and well maintained, and all the staff we interacted with were really friendly and helpful. There were lots of water attractions for all ages, and our favorite was the Lazy River (aka “River Cruise”) such a relaxing way to cool down! We went on a weekday, so it wasn’t too busy, which was perfect! It made everything more enjoyable with shorter lines and plenty of space to relax. A fun and refreshing day trip for the whole family. Highly recommended if you’re looking to enjoy some water fun in the sun!

Water and facilities are clean and well organized, maintained park! Love this place as 35year old adult too ! But the line of restaurant is kind of long and takes a lot of time to get terriyaki sandwitch. Love parking shade too! Shower room is also new. Love everything!

We had an awesome time at Hurricane Harbor LA. The facility was really clean, had a ton of seating options with shade for those hot summer days and a lot of different attractions that kept busy from open until close. The unlimited drinks option was fantastic as we were there all day and it was hot. My only complaint is the food prices and lack of options. Other than that I would highly recommend this place!
Miranda — Google review
Oh, queues! They’re not my thing, especially when it’s hot like it was at the end of June. Hurricane was packed, and the queues were everywhere. If you want to slide down, you’ll spend ages getting up. Are you hungry? Sure, but what’s the point of staying in a queue for over an hour in a scorching summer? In total, you’ll spend half your time in the queues. Now, let’s compare this to some European aquaparks. They measure the time spent in queues in minutes. I wonder if they could suggest to the architects of these parks that customers who spend hours in queues only pay once. But they could also charge more if they had the option to buy a meal. Why aren’t there more food stands or windows to grab a bite? I’d happily spend tens of dollars more if I had that choice.
Jan M — Google review
I came down from the Sacramento area to check out Hurricane Harbor as a Gold Season Pass member. I liked the amount of slides in the park, the lazy river, and the wave pull. However, it was shocking to see how few free inter-tubes the park had available at their rides. In order to shorten wait time in lines, by hours, and enjoy all of the rides before the park closes (6pm) you would almost have to rent one. For a single inter tube it is $18 and for a double, $25. Those prices are outrageous to me, so I opted not to do so. This left me only being able to enjoy the lazy river and the wave pool. Feels like a waste of time to travel from so far to check this place out.
Leaving C — Google review
The early you go, better the experience because of less wait time 😀 dead drop ride is my most favorite ride!!
Geetha R — Google review
-The lines for the slides were long due to slow employees. They had 1 employee managing 3 slides and if the next 3 people all wanted to ride the same slide they would just send 1 at a time and no one on the other 2 slides, instead of asking others in the line if they wanted to go down the other slides. I ended up doing the job for them and asked the others behind me if anyone wanted to go on the other open slides, there was always someone who wanted to go. All they needed to do is ask! -They were also slow because they would take way too long before sending the next set of people. The people at the bottom of the slide were long gone before they sent another person down. -Even the people in the food court were slow. It took me 50 minutes before I made it to the front and I was on a short line. -In 4.5 hours we got on 3 slides, we were done waiting after that and went home. The slides were fun, but not worth the wait. -My suggestions to management is to train their employees better!!! Make them more efficient at their jobs so people can enjoy their time there better!

Nestled in the heart of California, Mentryville Park is a captivating glimpse into the state’s oil boom era. Once a bustling oil drilling town that marked its first strike in 1876, Mentryville now stands as a historic ghost town with remnants of its vibrant past. The few structures that remain serve as poignant reminders of an age when fortune seekers flocked to the area, drawn by tales of 'black gold.'
Fascinating, small piece of history. It’s so close to the urban side of town that makes it super accessible. Great spot for a hike, for a picnic (few tables available) or to simply enjoy nature.
NJ C — Google review
Relics/Ruins of a small oil town called Mentryville, established by Charles Mentry in the 1870s. Now used ocassionally for filming, TV and movies (The Color Purple, X-Files). Amenities, none really. There is a port-o-potty but I would be nervous about using it. There is a fairly well maintained Pico Service road that if you walk/bike down it long enough you'll come to Pico #4, the remnants of the first successful oil strike in California. The "town" itself consists of a couple unsafe to walk in houses (I assume from the looks of them) a barn and storage building of sorts. Surrounded by the Santa Susanna Mountains. Also has a running stream (wet months of the area anyway) and is quite scenic. I don't know that I'd visit here frequently but it's worth one or more for the history of the site and beauty of the mountains. Warning: As of 4/21/24 they haven't broken ground but beware if you do want to visit here Lennar has the rights and will start building on the road TO the site pretty soon and that will cause some trouble. It's a single width road for about a mile or 1.5 miles to the site from the main road that gets to it. Once Lennar starts building on/off that road getting to this place is going to be gnarly, for a while anyway.
Kevin W — Google review
It's great. Very nice parking is like $7 if you park next to it. Free if you walk a 1/4 mile. If you take the whole trail you will end up seeing the first oil wells and cresting the top of the mountains. Keep going and you end up in the next valley. Calibrate for what you want
Brad M — Google review
A nice historic area and a nice trail. Please don't go breaking doors and windows respect the area.

I love abandoned places. This one is pretty cool because it has the first commercial oil well. It was owned by a company that is now called Standard Oil. This is basically where modern society started!

$5 parking fee, port-a-potty, picnic tables. Structures boarded up, landscape maintained, wander at your own pace.
Linda G — Google review
There's a little "ghost town" here parking is 5 dollars. I have parked at the gate before as well as payed to get up closer. Its maybe a half mile walk from the unlocked gate if you choose not to pay. From there you can follow along a nicely paved road about 3/4 mile where you'll come across Johnson Park, which looks like a little camping party area, though there's some history to this area that I've forgotten. Go about 1 mile further and see americas first and longest running commercial oil well. Right after that there is a big bend in the road that ends the paved section. From here is where you get the actual trail which goes about 3 miles up and through the mountains. At the top there is a weirdly placed bench and nothing else. There are a few good views of Santa Clarita, but a lot more views of the mountains toward the southwest. The trail kind of dwindles out after the bench and actually connects to Towsley canyon, but I took my bike and the trail was too steep and narrow to pull it up through there. It said somewhere that it is an 8 miles hike out and back, but it felt like a lot less. Overall a really nice park that doesn't get very crowded.
Steven V — Google review
It was an alright experience. I cannot say I had the best time nor could I admit I would go back again. I wouldn't go back. Once was enough, once was actually one time too many. I think Mentryville was an interesting place to visit. I was fascinated when i peeked into the inside of the old home. The stove looked old. The wrap around porch, the architecture-- they were things you don't commonly see in Southern California. The farm, the schoolhouse, and the Disney house were also cool to look at, but that was it. That was all there was to see. It's not worth the trip. It's not worth the gas money. It's not worth the parking fee. I think what added on to my displeasure of this place was the fact that it said to beware of mountain lions, ticks, and snakes. I couldn't enjoy myself knowing that a mountain lion could've jump me any second. There were also many mosquitos lurking about as well as lizards crawling about, but I didn't mind that. The hiking trail is also not that scenic. It's a paved road surrounded by tall, beautiful mountains. If that's your thing, you'd enjoy it. I suppose I am a bit biased, though. I've been to the Hollywood Sign, Rocky Peak, Paradise Falls, Trail Falls, and a bunch of other trails. Compared to other trails, this trail was not good. If you plan on going anyway, the parking payment situation can be confusing. Just park your car in the lot, walk back to the entrance, and you'll see a tall metal box. The rest is just filling out the form and following the directions. By the way, if you drive towards the second parking lot, you will see the farm house. If you park without driving past the farm house, then you're not at the paid parking lot.

Pulchella Winery, located in Santa Clarita, is a must-visit for wine enthusiasts. Founded by two passionate local wine lovers in 2006, the winery offers signature Paso Robles Wines and provides an educational experience on wine making techniques and the region's approach to winemaking. We love this winery. Their wines are first class and the staff is lovely. We joined their wine club and they throw a great pick up party. So much fun.

Ok, so I might be a bit biased considering my brother is one of the owners, and i have helped pick grapes, press, and bottle, but my wife and I love Pulchella Wine. They are two hard-working wine makers, Nate and Steve, and have dedicated well over ten years of their life to perfecting the craft. They are dedicated to the winery and have no backing but the hard work they put in. They are a true inspiration to the hard-working American pursuing a dream. Stop by and have a tasting. i'm sure you will love it.

I've been a member of the wine club for like 3 years now. The wine is incredible, I am personally more of a reds fan, City Slicker is my favorite. They have a great Rose if you prefer sweeter wines too. The wine tasting for $10 is a steal if you aren't a member. I love that you can bring food in with you or order from one of the neighboring restaurants. I take a group of friends whenever possible and it's a perfect date night. The staff are all so friendly and their dog that runs around is so sweet, Goalie is the man, so knowledgeable and fun to chat with. They are only open Thurs-Sun I believe it is so just call ahead to make sure they are open.

This is a great little winery in old town Newhall. We stopped in last Saturday night and I was pleasantly surprised how good the wine here is. We even picked up a couple of bottles. Many other tasting rooms in the are are average to below average, but not Pulchella. I would highly recommend visiting if you are in the area.

Tesoro Adobe Historic Park offers visitors the chance to step into the world of legendary cinematic figures like John Wayne and Gary Cooper. Originally built by famous Western film actor Harry Carrey, the park features historic buildings, nature trails, and picnic spots for a serene and educational experience. Whether opting for self-guided walks or guided tours, visitors can immerse themselves in the colorful history of this historical gem while enjoying its tranquil atmosphere.
Lovely. The Tesoro Adobe was built and owned by western film actor, Harry Carey, in the 1920’s and 1930’s. Carey was instrumental in bringing other movie stars to the Santa Clarita Valley like Tom Mix, even John Wayne. The grounds are well kept with lots of old trees, cacti and other succulents. Lots of shade, places to sit. It's a quite tranquil spot to relax and take in the nature the park offers. If you meditate, this is a good spot for that. Enjoyed my brief time there with Luci and I'll bring my Wife back here for some Omzzzz. Recommended for park and historic marker enthusiasts.

It's a nice place to walk, it's kind of like a museum. But I was confused on the part where in the Park part where on the gate to the playground it said that there was security cameras and it was private property and we couldn't trespass so I was kind of confused on that. But overall four star review

Nice area, but for residents. I was here to play ball with some residents, parked in the guest lot but that gets locked at sunset so they had to drive me around to get my car and bring it in the residents lot thru the gate. So pretty inconvenient for non-residents. And the volleyball lights didn't come on til 1/2 an hour after dark. But it's still a real nice park for folks, so I give 4 stars.

My family and I visited during an impromptu trip out to Valencia. We were pleasantly surprised at the family friendliness of this mall! The family lounge was so great to have access to. We were able to comfortably change my son's diaper with a mobile to distract (he's in the alligator rolling stage) and nurse him in one of the 4 nursing rooms with curtains. They also had a microwave, some couches, a TV playing old children's movies, and a large private restroom. They also had adorable spring photo opportunities set up around the mall. We of course snapped some shots! We really loved that they had a small table for families with kids. Our son is still in a highchair but it looked perfect for preschool aged kids. We loved spending a little time in the library and thought the take a book, leave a book concept was so cool. The playground and pond outside were very fun for kids of all ages! We would love to go back soon!

What happened to this mall?! It's so dead! Tons of vacancies; even an entire anchor store. What's up with the sewage smell near BJ's? I don't recall it being like that years ago. It seems minimum wage laws and excessive regulations have converged with online shopping and California has made it too difficult for businesses to be profitable. Sad.

Nestled in the heart of Santa Clarita, The Original Saugus Cafe is a charming old-school diner that has been delighting patrons since 1886. With its vintage railcar-style decor, this iconic eatery offers a nostalgic atmosphere perfect for enjoying classic American comfort food. Over the years, it has welcomed an impressive roster of guests, including Hollywood legends and even two U.S.
My family and I really enjoyed this place. It's got that home-y cozy and chill feel that you get from old diners, and their menu is not complicated like with newer restaurants. The food is just what you'd expect from an older diner. It's good and satisfying. We were surprised they got busy around 1030 on a Tuesday, but I guess it's just a fave. The prices are good too even despite the inflation and everything.

Open since 1886 it is one of, if not the, oldest restaurants in Los Angeles County. We were in the area so we decided to stop in for our first visit. I am sure it has had many iterations over the years but currently it is a diner on one side and another area for the bar, but separated. It has a really homey feel to it and looks like the classic LA diner on the inside. They have a free parking lot attached, but we were able to find a parking spot right out front. Our server was very polite, although it took quite a long time for our food to come out. Aside from the wait time, the food items were very good taste wise. I chose the Country Fried Steak for my breakfast and we also shared a side order of Biscuits and Gravy. The steak was actually very good and very crispy but not overly done. The biscuits were OK but not favorite. I wish they would be more flaky, but I still enjoyed them. We also ordered a side of Pancakes for the table and everybody enjoyed that as well. Overall, a good local country diner and I would recommend if you are in the area.

Obviously, a favorite among the locals. Extensive roadside diner style menu with a good selection of homestyle comfort food. Staff is friendly and helpful. Solid choice if you want a bite to eat.

The interior looks much bette than it looks on the outside. I ordered the omelet combo and the omelet itself was really good, but the country potato side tasted like it was leftovers from the previous day. Coffee is what you expect from a place that serves bottomless Coffee. It's a bit more expensive than IHOP And I am not completely sure it's better.

My friends and I came here this morning to shoot some shotgun. One of my friend own it and brought his own ammo so we didn't have to rent or buy ammo. The only thing we had to pay for was the clay targets which wasn't too much. The biggest delay here is when you're paying to go shoot because there only 1 person working and for some reason they just take a while. Once you pay, then you'll get your card to put in the machine to deploy the clay target. A truck will take your party up to the shooting range up in the mountains and it's a pretty bumpy ride with no seatbelt so hold on. We had a great time at station 1, 4, 6 and then went to station 7 where it's like shooting at a moving object. Remember if you have any remaining balance on your card to take a picture because we had an issue where the person working the counter said we used up all our balance but we didn't.

If it were me, and my own experience, I may not be writing this as a fact. However, I have friends who are very seasoned, I had a friend who is in law enforcement, and they were not treated any differently. Let's just put that aside. He can lunch into the amount of waivers and forms. Sure, you might have filled out three PDF forms online, specifically for the range you are going to. But after that you get into the pro shop, to pay for everything and start getting ready to go to one of the bays, when they inform you that you need to fill out another three forms that are PDFs, with lousy reception. Let's say all of that was not enough, when you get inside, it is a very unpredictable and haphazard mess of lines. You can wait in the wrong line the entire time, before they tell you you need to start waiting in a different line. You go to that line, someone has a problem with you waiting in that line. Now let's say you are renting a gun. Make sure that you and you alone are in the party of the person that is not renting a gun. Because if they rent a gun, not only do they have to fill out a whole bunch of paperwork, but just being next to them means that you have to fill out all of the same paperwork even though you are not renting. Then we can move on to the bays that are overcrowded. They have a small bay, that they will gladly put three people next to each other, fighting for room. There is nothing about this place that makes me think, "Gee I can't wait to come back here. The people are so friendly, you get such a big bang for your buck, it's an easy process, and everyone is so helpful."

A very clean and well maintained gun club. They rent guns if you’re in the area for business and just want to stop in for an afternoon.

When I first walked into Oak Tree, the energy in the pro shop felt off. Some of the employees came across as cold or uninterested, and it honestly made me question if I wanted to stay. It didn’t feel like the welcoming, passionate environment I was expecting from a place that’s supposed to be all about community and shooting. But once I got out to the Steel range, everything changed. That’s where I met Nick and Jason, and they completely turned my day around. Both of them were professional, approachable, and genuinely cool guys. Nick gave me solid advice that actually helped improve my shooting, and Jason kept things running smooth with a great attitude and presence. These two not only know their stuff, but they treat people with respect and make you feel like you’re part of something. If Oak Tree had more employees like them, it would take the whole experience to another level. Big shoutout to Nick and Jason cuz they’re the reason I’ll be coming back. Had a great time! Coming back for a private lesson with them

This place is super cool and the staff is beyond nice and helpful to newcomers. We ate at the restraunt. So good. Really. Love the decor. There is an actual giraffe hanging on the wall as well as a full standing bear and lots of birds. It is amazing. Check it out.

Page, a range operator, was awesome. I was using a firearm unfamiliar in ways to me and he was able to instill knowledge and confidence quickly. Can’t beat the environment here at Oak Tree. The front people at the pistol range have been really chill. There was an older black gentleman working inside at the rifle range the first time I went. That guy was an awesome first impression of the place. Oak Tree is great.

I go to this place to practice with clay pigeons. The service is pretty good, but I’m writing this review for their burgers and specifically for their bison burgers. I consider myself a foodie and would not just say good things about a burger because burgers are near and dear to my heart, It takes a lot to impress me and the little cafe by the shotgun range has done that for me. Get the bison burger with just cheese, tomato and maybe pickles. If you can take it add some Tabasco and you will be in heaven.

Girls night we saw West Side Story, a small theatre, great venue and the cast was awesome! Staff was friendly, snacks were reasonable, you can bring your own water bottle. Have dinner at nearby restaurants, shops. Luv Main Street makes you feel like you’re in a small town America.

Tonight 3 of us went to see West Side Story and it was superb! The acting, voices, choreography and sets were all top notch. This performance had a free wine and champagne reception and we each really enjoyed our drinks. Bottled water was $1.00. The bathrooms were immaculate with fresh cut flowers. The temperature was perfect and we could take off our coats. The staff was friendly and helpful. Hurry and go see it as it ends next weekend!

Recently saw CATS at the Canyon Theatre Guild. Such a great venue providing an intimate feel. Wherever you sit, you have a great view. The staff and cast are very friendly. The theatre is also located in a great area full of bars, restaurants, stores and more. I highly recommend seeing a show here.

Overall great show. Ella has a magnificent voice and plays her role with heart. Not sure why a fairy tale has to be “modernized” with politics. Kids love the wonders of fairy tales. It made the second Act too long, at times even on the edge of boring….

Saw a performance of “Beehive: The 60s Musical” here. We were entertained. Some of the singers were very good. Others not so much. But overall still a fun time for my wife and me! Would definitely recommend going to support the local arts…just don’t expect Broadway 💫

I love this place and they are so sensitive to my autistic son. It’s always a pleasure coming here, the owner Monica is the nicest human ever! Super affordable and free admission, my sons favorite is the goats!

We LOVE Gilchrist farm and everything about it. My kids are part of their Animal Care Class where we come to the farm weekly to learn and take care of the animals. Each week we get hands on experience on what it takes to work and run a farm. These animals are looooooved! From the chickens, to the cows, to the pigs, horses and everything in between. Each day we feed these animals, milk the goats, learn about the animals individually and what it takes to care for them. We have experienced their garden area grow from inches to tall corn plants, sunflowers and pumpkins sprouting! From refilling the pigs mud, to helping pick chickens eggs. Monica, the owner, is a fabulous teacher & her staff is very welcoming as well. This place is the right kind of “dirty”— just as expected as a farm should be! WE LOVE GILCHRIST! -the Davis Family

Great place for families to visit and enjoy the fall time festivities. They have a large petty zoo. The children can ride ponies. You can also buy crafts and also grab a snack. This is a priceless venue for children to have lots of fun. There is no charge to park. There is a small charge for the crafts and rides.

Gilchrist Farm is such a gem! It’s a wonderful place for families, especially young kids, to experience a little slice of farm life without going too far from the city. They have pony rides, a petting zoo with goats, rabbits, ducks, and more; wagon and train rides; crafts; and even archery or axe-throwing during certain times

The pumpkin patch was very nicely assembled and the staff was very friendly. It was free to enter and I paid $100 for an all day wristband play pass for 2 kids and adults. It was a nice farm to visit. The wristband included archery, pumpkin decorating, tractor rides, petting zoo, slides, and a maze among other things. The food was reasonably priced at $8 for a cheeseburger. I was just disappointed that all the animals didn't have much space to roam. Especially the rabbits with were in their teeny tiny cages😭...
Sarah E — Google review
We have lived in the area for almost 9 years so we have come to the farm quite often and I’ve never been compelled to write a review until today. My main issue is that the people who work there are extremely rude and disrespectfully. The way they spoke to us was like we were idiots who didn’t speak English. Also one of the workers pulling the barrels with a tractor for kids to ride literally yelled at me and pointed to a sign screaming DONT FEED THE GOATS because my 2 year olds were playing with the goats outside of the gate. Also This farm is very unorganized and run down. Everytime you go there they have a new rule for everything. Also The slide is a death trap. Some can easily stumble on the way down and break their neck or leg. Also, A few years back one of my kids was running around and there was a black dog and my Kid was close to the dog and it jumped and pushed her to the ground. I would suggest not let your aggressive dog run around the property. Anyways with all that being said, I’m certain I will never return and don’t recommend anyone to start going in the first place.

Really nice place. Not as big as I expected but had a variety of things to do and the kids had such a great time! Loved the slide! Great pony carousel. Fun easter egg hunt! Wonderful animals and hospitality. The peacocks were beautiful! The goat was trying to nibble on my bag, hilarious. Will definitely go back.

So many fun trails both paved and dirt. Great place to get a walk/run in and finish with the steps. One of the only places I know of to walk safely at night as the park and stairs are illuminated. Lots of parking, restrooms, and water fountains if needed.

Good for sports and running. However if you are coming just to chill and find peace this is not the place. 100% of the time there is a chainsaw, lawn mower, leaf blower, or some other machinery working. Very loud all through out the park. In addition, stay 1 hour plus and you will see at least 15 unleashed dogs.

Very nice pool. I dislike taking my daughter to public pools for personal reasons, but this one is great. They have a large pool for swimming & jumping but you have to do a swim test to do that. The little pool seems more like a splash pad, but it’s great my daughter is 3 & she had a great time. I also like how every hour or so the life guards take everyone out of the pool and check the equipment.

$6 adults $4 kids You can bring your own food. Nice plus! Advise you bring your chairs and or pic nic blanket for space In the grass area. People camp out everywhere searching for shade. It’s open from 12-4pm They close the pool in small intervals for about 10 minutes for cleaning, so having a shaded spot is nice during these cleanings and a good opportunity to feed the kiddos.

Very nice, clean cheaper option for the summer. The summer pass was affordable. for adults was 68$ and for kids was 47$ valid from June 12 until September 4th. You can also purchase day passes with 7$/day for adults and 5$/day for kids. I love the place because is small and has a slide, a little kids pool and a recreation pool for older kids and adults. There are 3 diving boards as well, but you need to pass the swim test with a lifeguard. Kids all ages can have fun. They also have water splashing, covered picnic area and a lot of lifeguards. The schedule is from 12:30 to 4:30pm. Every hour is a safety check for the little kids pool and slide. In the same facility is also an olympic pool for laps. For me with 3 kids 5,9,12 years old was the perfect place for the summer.

Beautiful views and teeming with nature. You can barely take a few steps without seeing or hearing animals around you. A great spot for birding, or just wildlife spotting in general. We saw quail, scrub jays, towhees, blue birds, a thrasher, plus some mule deer too! Definitely want to come back here in spring when the wildflowers are in bloom. Note that the paths can get bumpy and narrow if there are accessibility concerns. I would not recommend this place to people with young children. Otherwise, a really pleasant hike!

Unfortunately the trail is washed out so mountain biking isn’t possible after a mile and a half. One good thing is that there is a lot of water and it’s really green now. A lot of free parking. Probably good for hiking as long as you don’t care about getting your feet wet.

Park
Santa Clarita Skate Park is an impressive 40,000-square-foot skating area that offers a variety of features such as a bowl, snake runs, handrails, a bridge, and a half-pipe. Despite the potential for injury due to its challenging layout, it has garnered praise for its design and appeal to young skaters. Visitors have commended the park for its cool and fun atmosphere, with some describing it as one of the best skate parks they've visited in California and Arizona.
Clean, friendly environment for the most part. The city has scored a 10 here. It is a kid and teenager friendly environment where youngsters can, practice, and improve skills.
NJ C — Google review
For how big the skatepark is there isn’t that much to skate. It’s just a loop of strange snake runs that you have to climb back up. There are some fun things to skate and the bowl is fast and gnarly. The symmetrical island of stairs and handrails is weird and repetitive. Not worth going out of your way to skate.
Vasiliy V — Google review
I have mixed opinions on this park. Initially it appears to be fantastic, but upon closer inspection there's not much here that I like to skate. The majority of the park is taken up by big bowls or snakeruns. Then there's a lot of wastes concrete in the form of big bleacher style blocks. When it comes down to it I only really skated the brick quarter, the baby quarter and a flat ledge. Which is fine, happy with that. But for a mid 30's manual curb skater, this ain't the park for me. #1000skateparkchallenge #cementurians
Phil3636 — Google review
I'm shocked. Shocked a city would build a skate park that has this much potential for injury. I say that as an endorsement not a negative. I am way too old to drop in to almost any of these areas but wow, good on you SC, if I was 13 I'd live here. Understand we have had historic rains so my photos are a little dreary but I can't wait to come back in good weather and watch kids try to keep their arms and legs unbroken. Very cool skate park. Way to go City of Santa Clarita.

Santa Clarita Park is a small neighborhood park with limited activities for adults, but it's perfect for kids. The park features a swimming pool, a full basketball court, and a decent-sized softball field. Although the playground's robot structure is currently off-limits, it remains a special place for many visitors. The park holds historical significance due to its unique robot monument and offers clean facilities.
Lots of artificial and natural shade, picnic tables (mostly in the sun but still nice), grass to sit on, and a nice big shaded play structure in sand. Swing sets with baby swings, and a clean bathroom. There's also a basketball court and a baseball diamond that are well maintained.
Bridget L — Google review
Comparatively speaking, this is one of the weaker parks in Santa Clarita. It's quite small so very little to do for track, exercise or getting your steps in, although there is some area to walk but not much. This is a quintessential small neighborhood park for your kids. It has a swimming pool which is a nice amenity. Or a very specific use case. If you play basketball. There is a nice full court basketball court and a reasonably big softball field. You'll have to grade my photos on a curve as we were in an atmospheric river and bomb cyclone sequence and the ground was saturated. Certainly nothing wrong with this place. There's just nothing particularly interesting and entertaining beyond for me and my use case, getting out with my girls (dogs). If your local and you have kids, this is a great place. It's simply not a destination park for most.
Kevin W — Google review
Cute little park for the kiddos. Well maintained. I am saddened that the robot is blocked off because I used to play on it as a kid. I wish my kids could have had the same opportunity to play on the robot. However, my children did have so much fun looking at the robot and playing on the playground. Wonderful, special park that'll always be in my heart. ❤️

The park is on the outskirts of Santa Clarita in Valencia and you'll be thrilled when you turn the corner and see the peaks of some of the most intense rollercoasters ever built. Very cool! We are glad!

Room Escape Games
Arcane Escape Rooms is a popular entertainment facility that can be found in Santa Clarita and offers two unique themed rooms for visitors to choose from. One of the rooms has the capacity to accommodate up to 8 players, while the other is more suitable for groups of 4-6 individuals. In The Agency room, participants are challenged with a mission to save humanity from a deranged murderer.
This was my first escape room experience, and it couldn’t have been better! I tried "The Agency" room, and the puzzles were incredibly well-designed—creative, challenging, and full of surprises. The attention to detail in the puzzles and the room's overall theme made the experience truly immersive. Considering the reasonable cost and the brilliance of the design, this is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for an engaging and fun outing. A special shoutout to the young lady working on Saturday. She was welcoming, helpful, and contributed to making the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Arcane Escape Rooms has been on my list for quite a while - and I'm happy to say that it absolutely met the hype. Their first two offerings, The Agency and The Hideout, are classic games done right. The Hideout, in particular, made use of really curious props and tactile interactions that were uncommon in the era it debuted, and even today. They each included clever, elegant puzzles that traversed the set and created surprising transformations. But I think for most enthusiasts, The Ghost of Mentryville will be the true star. This was one of the most beautiful, haunting, and powerful narratives I've encountered in an escape room - and I do not say that lightly. Our host excellently narrated and moved us through every detail, staying in character so well it kind of shocked me when he finally broke it by the end. His performance was the heart of the game, but there were also a strong collection of puzzles in this game, all spread out through the strange dream-world of a space that was both small yet also unique in its constant transformation. I will never forget the emotions this game gave me, or the way it was told so brilliantly. Arcane Escape Rooms is a company that does a lot with a little. They embrace minimalism yet also fill their spaces with complex, hand-crafted interactions. If there was ever a set of games for which "Arthouse" would be a good descriptor, these would absolutely fit, and it made for a set of games that were unique, beautiful, and accessible for everyone.

Everyone needs to check out this place. I’ve done three of the rooms, and they’re all great. Appleseed Avenue is the coolest experience I’ve ever had in an escape room! I would do it again! So much fun and very interactive.

Very fun experience! Not super taxing and also challenging at the same time. We were a team of 4 and everyone had a blast!

We had a great time and the puzzles were perfect, not too hard but not too easy. It was great because it also encouraged the team work! Definitely recommend!

My party of 4 did the agency and it was a great time. Only 2 of us had done an escape room before and the directions prior to the room were clear. The hints were helpful and happened only when we were really stuck. We beat the room and the puzzles were fun and interactive. Overall, I would recommend for a group of 4 and the employee there was helpful.

Ed Davis Park at Towsley Canyon is a stunning gem nestled within the Santa Clarita Woodlands Park, situated on the northern slopes of the Santa Susana Mountains in Los Angeles County. Easily accessible from the 5 Freeway and close to attractions like Six Flags Magic Mountain, this park offers an array of natural wonders, including the captivating narrows of Towsley Gorge and intriguing seeps of oil along its trails.
One of my fave trails in scv plus its close to home. Rains have filled the creek and some of the trail has been impacted. In last month, a few holes on the switch backs on the long trail seem to be bigger/expanding. Havent done the short loop yet so not sure how it fared. Love this park for its variety of long and short trails plus clean park bathrooms.
Chris L — Google review
There's a decent amount of shade up one of the trails (sorry, can't remember which). The terrain was a mix of smooth and washed out pathway and the incline was moderate. The photo was from the top and there were a couple of other spots where you could see different parts of the park. There was ample parking right at the entrance and paid parking at the beginning of the trails. I got there at noon, but I would go earlier next time, only because a temperature of high 80's felt quite hot at that time.

Can't get enough of that place. I love being out doors. The mountains are beautiful the sky was clear. Did not see anything or anyone. Bring water and sun protection. You will come across a lot of shade. Great place for a bike ride. Not a good place for small children. No flies today. I hiked into the park for one and a half hours today got some better pics. I think somewhere I took a wrong turn. I might of gone off the trail. Check out these new pictures I took. My goal is to climb to the very top of one of these huge mountain tops and take some pictures.

A good 5 mile, moderate for a Sunday morning hike was great. Had some nice views once you reach on the top. Few steep areas on the rerun but nothing too crazy. Have fun! Btw, there’s also couple tar pit / oil oozing out.

Really nice hike, you can go for a peaceful walk or you can adventure in hiking. Lots of friendly folks walking around, you will get a lot of "Hellos" 😊 parking can be difficult if you don't get there early in the morning, especially in the weekends. Brings your dogs with you for a nice walk 👍👍 Also this place is good for jogging 💪

Great place to hike, if you make a large loop from the left it's steeper coming up and much easier coming back to the parking lot. I really like this park easy to get around a couple difficult spots keep your eyes open. Plenty of parking at the bottom of the hill enjoy your trip

So peaceful with shade. Downside is trash on the ground and huge part was flooded, turning it into a muddy swamp I didn't realize til my white dog's patas turned black! If landscaper has a sprinkler that busts, put up a cone or two or a sign warning of mess. I'm not looking for a muddy mess when it's been 90 all week with no rain

Lovely park with lots of space. Picnic tables, clean bathrooms. Decent kids area, jungle gym etc. Big thing with this park is the size of it. Not as big as Central Park but big enough to host just about anything with plenty of grass and trees for some shade.
Kevin W — Google review
Was in the area from out of town, and in need of a quiet inviting place to get a few miles in. I actually went to a few different parks in the area that were listed in Google maps, but none had the parking marked like this one, and I didn't want to get too far away from the car without know it would be safe. I made the loop 4 times and it was perfect. Snapped a photo of the eucalyptus tree while on the walk, I grew up in San Diego as a kid and remember the smell of these trees fondly from that time period. Would recommend this trail for sure, very wide path for most of the way, access to restrooms and a playground.

Park
Bouquet Canyon Park, located in Santa Clarita, CA, offers a variety of recreational activities for visitors. The park features grassy fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, a baseball diamond, and a playground with a sandbox. Additionally, there are numerous picnic tables and benches as well as a barbecue area available. The park is known for its pickleball courts and hosts eight of them since the fall 2023 update. Visitors can also enjoy amenities such as restrooms and ample parking space.
Bouquet Canyon Park is an absolute gem in the community! This park has so many fantastic amenities, including a top-notch playground that caters to all ages—toddlers, kids, and even older children. The playground is the highlight for us, especially the zip line swings, which my son absolutely loves! The climbing structures and slides are so well-designed and fun, and the entire playground area is impressively large. Beyond the playground, the park also offers basketball courts, pickleball/tennis courts, and a baseball/softball field. There’s plenty of grassy space to run around and relax, as well as lots of benches perfect for a picnic. It’s a great spot for families to enjoy some outdoor fun. While it can get a bit busy at times, if you visit during a quieter moment, it’s an unbeatable experience. This park has something for everyone, and it’s easily one of the best parks in the Santa Clarita. Highly recommend!

An excellent park. The playground is huge and has different types of activities. The toilets are clean. There is a tennis court and a baseball field nearby. My children really enjoyed it here. There are picnic tables and grills, not far from the playground. I recommend you to visit 👍👍👍

What a fantastic park. It's buried in a neighborhood off Bouquet Canyon Road but well worth it and not like you're driving way out of your way. Superb amenities. Pickleball, tennis, full court basketball and all the kids playground stuff. Also has good hiking trails off the back of the park. Really dig this place. Highly recommended.
Kevin W — Google review
Very well maintained park. The tennis court is surprisingly very busy every time we come. Parking spaces are ample, but get tighter as you get closer to the tennis court area since people are lining up for an open court. Nights, I wouldn't recommend walking solo. Sometimes, I'll see a few homeless gentlemen camping out closer to the far field near the homes, so I can't say what possible situation could happen, but it does seem maintenance or some kind of security drives them away temporarily, but when is an entirely different matter. Aside from that, my only 2 complaints would be that the lack of traditional swings would be a great addition, and the other the strong slant on the slides. It doesn't really affect older kids, but for your younger ones or ones with disabilities, you may want to soften that impact and slow them down.
Jay — Google review
Another absolute gem of a park. Nestled at the foot of a grassy ridge within a residential neighborhood in Saugus. Visit during late autumn when the tree leaves change colour. Features a large grassy area with walking paths, a series of tennis courts that always seem to be busy, a very large children’s play area, large public restrooms, and a large parking lot.

Circle J Ranch Park is a delightful gem nestled in Santa Clarita, perfect for families and pet lovers alike. Many visitors fondly recall their childhood memories here, often sharing tales of the park's playful nickname, "Alligator Park," due to the little trenches that sparked imaginations. The park features a well-maintained grassy area with a quarter-mile walking path that’s ideal for leisurely strolls or energetic laps with your furry friends.
Little jewel in Santa Clarita. Small but serves the community very well. Enjoyed bringing my 4 year old to enjoy the playground. Nice place to spend an hour enjoying the well maintained park.

Very nice park in circle j ranch....the path around the grass field is a quarter of a mile so four laps is a mile.....while there is only one picnic table here (the picnic table under the gondola is kovid chads picnic table) so it is kind of first come is who gets the table and anyone can use the picnic table if i am there or not there....lol.. The park is quite quaint and very clean and for the most part usually peaceful and quiet and the restrooms always have to and soap at the sinks so I am giving a solid five star rating for sure.....

I love this park. I went here as a child and now I am bringing my own children here. I used to call this park the "Alligator Park" because I thought alligators lived in the little trenches near the park. Now I tell my kids the same thing. Park
Jake Kuredjian County Park offers a serene and beautiful environment with fantastic mountain views. The park features picnic tables, barbeques, restrooms, a water fountain, and a walking path. It is home to the Pico Canyon Trail designed for hiking and horseback riding. The medium-sized park has gradual hills and abundant wildlife including squirrels, birds, and butterflies.
This is a nice quiet park. We took our little fur babies here and they enjoyed all the smells.
Mark K — Google review
Nice little park lots of trees and shade grasses well and green few park benches with a bathroom that was locked and a water fountain
Bryan E — Google review
Amenities - mmm, not much. Bathrooms and they were nice and clean but other than that, you may want to check out my reviews of City of Santa Clarita Parks. They are typically much better equipped than Jake Kuredjian. What this park does have, in spades, is lots of trees, consequently lots of shade and plenty of plush grass (4/2024). Huge, old Oak trees that are the dominant feature of the park, in my view anyway. Lovely and massive. Grass is also plentiful with nice views of the Santa Susana mountains. It's next to an Elementary school which was out when I was there. Not a lot of benches, no pavilion, no B-Ball or tennis courts, no grills and no..... you get the idea. It's beautiful and for a blanket picnic that you've already prepared all the food, it's lovely. As far as parks go, as an SCV and Canyon Country resident, it lacks a little. You can get your steps in and it does have a relaxing vibe. I'd give it 3.5 stars. It isn't a 4 star park by my measure but it also isn't a 3 star park with all the trees and grass so I'll give it a round up boost. If you have kids and want to throw a frisbee, kick a soccer ball, this is a good fit for you. If you want hiking trails, fitness options and park amenities, meh, keep looking.
Kevin W — Google review
Very lovely park. It's spacious and has plenty of grass and shade trees. There's a long walking/bike path connected to the park as well and it's close to the river so you can see cool wildlife such as California quail. Now for why I only gave 4 stars: it wasn't crowded this time but the parking lot was tiny so I can see that being an issue. I also had to drive far out of my way when leaving to find a place to do a uturn. The most annoying though was farther down the bike path was absolutely covered in doggy doo doo. Come on people! I've often walked with multiple dogs and a cat and still manage to clean up after ourselves. It's just common courtesy. I cleaned up 10 piles of poop, a mask and a plastic bottle. Do better.
Desert C — Google review
This park was a nice place to stop on a long road trip to stretch our legs. It was a gorgeous place.
Sierra D — Google review
Beautiful, quiet, and serene with a fantastic Mountain View. Medium-sized and mostly flat with some very gradual hills. Lots of wildlife (squirrels, birds, butterflies). Once you step into the park, you feel like you're all alone. Wish there were more benches or picnic tables. But the trees are huge, so there's plenty of shade. They are surrounded by wood chips, so you might want to bring a blanket if you're planning on having a picnic. There is a waking path that curves around the park, as well as a doggy bag dispenser. There is also a restroom, but it's on the opposite side of the park from the parking lot. No playground and parking lot only has space for 8 cars. Off of a main road, so no street parking, but you could turn into a nearby neighborhood or the elementary school next to the park. What I love most about it is its right off the freeway but usually empty. Very peaceful.
Alexis — Google review
The park itself is great for a quiet time while lots of green is around, but I have it 3 stars as I had a bad experience, twice, when the sprinklers started to work in the middle of the day, while we are sitting on our blanket!! In addition, if you will walk there, even at noon, you will see that lots of areas are super wet, and you find yourself looking for a better less wet way in the grass. Very weird why they manage the water system like that.
Tamir R — Google review
It's a nice park. I pass through it often on my walks. Lots of space here. The bathrooms are clean. It would be a good place for a picnic. The only issue is sometimes people have their dogs off the leash.

A tasting room with a great atmosphere and very good wines. Wines by the glass or bottle outside on the patio. Served by a helpful and friendly staff. We will be going back soon.

I tasted a flight with Doug and enjoy the wine. It's a cute little place and I even got a little practice session with the band that's going to play there. I will be back and so should you

Really enjoy this tasting room. Perfect to drop in for a quick glass and head home with a bottle. Very appreciative to have this place in our town.

Park
This Park is located in a residential area at the bottom of the highest level in Azusa. You will see the top of the mountains from here. This is one of those mountain tops where you don't feel you were in a higher altitude until you come down and see the entire valley. Beautiful view!
Tahseena K — Google review
This is actually the end of the trail & there's a no trespassing so you can't actually go into the hill.

This is a tiny park at the edge of the neighborhood at the top of the Arroyo trail. Its beautiful views of the foothills make it a nice place to walk. Watch out for snakes!

40Hart Park Trails

Hiking area
Hart Park Trails offer a blend of California history and natural beauty. The park features a live collection of farm animals, including American bison donated by Walt Disney, as well as a Western-themed gift store and ample picnic areas. Hikers can explore clean trails that provide stunning views of the City of Santa Clarita. Whether you're interested in history, nature, or simply enjoying the outdoors, Hart Park Trails offers something for everyone to enjoy.
You can't help but wonder what the views from these trails, and the Hart house, before the SCV was developed and continues to develop and inhabit. I'm part of that invasion so I'm not complaining but thinking of the still spectacular views as they were when pristine is hard to escape. Bison are viewable if you get lucky. 360 degree stunning views. Benches and stop and see areas are scattered throughout the trails. Santa Clarita is a magnificent hiking SoCal destination and the trails at Hart Park only add to that cache. Enthusiastically recommended. You can spend the entire day here if your heart and lungs are capable.

Nice clean trails. Whole City of Santa Clarita can be seen from these trails.
