Italian restaurant
Ice cream shop
Located in the heart of Sanur, Massimo Italian Restaurant is a rustic, chef-owned eatery celebrated for its delectable homemade pastas and pizzas. The restaurant boasts a charming ambiance with three distinct areas: a garden with lush tropical greenery, a spacious indoor seating area, and an air-conditioned section for maximum comfort. As you approach the entrance, you'll be greeted by an enticing display of homemade gelato featuring an impressive array of 48 flavors.
I had lunch at Massimo Pizzeria in Sanur and tried their Diavola pizza. it was genuinely very good, with a nice balance of spice and flavor. I’d rate it 8/10 for taste. The crust was light and crispy, and the ingredients tasted fresh. Service was a bit on the slow side, especially considering the place was kinda empty, but the staff were friendly and polite once they came around. Prices are very reasonable for the quality, definitely one of the better value options in Sanur if you’re craving proper Italian pizza. Overall, a solid spot for pizza lovers, worth a visit, especially if you’re not in a rush. 🍕🇮🇹

Very affordable price in the busy area of sanur. And the taste is good. They have so many flavors, I try 3 of them and all are good 🤤 There are so many gelato in Bali, but Massimo is the cheapest one I guess, but the taste is really good. But unfortunately they have pistachio only on weekend 🙃🙃 Worth to try

A Slice of Italy in Sanur – Dinner at Massimo Italian Restaurant Italian cuisine may be familiar to many of us, but several things truly stood out during our visit to this restaurant: 1. Easy online reservation, which made it simple for us to secure a table right away. 2. The restaurant serves appetizers, mains, desserts, and a wide selection of drinks—but this is the first place where the sequence and timing of each course were executed perfectly. Our server, Mang Ayu, carefully paced our meal, ensuring we fully enjoyed our appetizer before politely checking whether we were ready for the main course. For me, this was an outstanding dining experience. It’s rare to find a Western restaurant that truly understands and applies the proper flow between appetizers, main courses, and desserts. 3. The menu offers a wide variety of options—vegetarian, gluten-free, seafood-free, nut-free—everyone is well accommodated. We ordered the gnocchi and homemade pork sausage, both incredibly delicious. The gnocchi, made from potatoes, was especially perfect for someone like me who is reducing gluten intake. Thank you to the entire Massimo team, especially Mang Ayu, for serving us with such warmth and delightful hospitality. ~Exceptional food, impeccable timing, unforgettable service~ *Yohana Dee*

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve been to Massimo Gelato many times, and everyone here always does a great job. But this time, I want to especially appreciate Oca (the lady with glasses) because her character really stands out. There’s a way she carries herself that goes beyond good service. She doesn’t just serve, she does it with love, and when someone works with love, you can feel it.. Oca made the experience unforgettable. She’s always smiling in a way that feels genuine, not routine. When my brother asked for toppings, she added them with a full smile and playful gesture that made the moment fun. When it was my turn, she carefully asked if I had any allergies and even explained that one of the flavors had alcohol, making sure I was okay with it. That little extra care might seem small, but it showed how much she loves what she does, and because of that, we received it as more than service, we received it as kindness. These are small details, yet they carry so much weight. Because in that moment, I realized it wasn’t just gelato we received, it was care, attention, and kindness. Everyone at Massimo does a great job, but Oca’s way of serving stands out. She shares an energy that lifts the entire place, reminding us that the simplest gestures can change how a day feels. I walked out not only with gelato in hand but with a smile that stayed much longer. And that’s why I’ll keep coming back, and bring my friends too, because service done with love is something rare, and Oca makes it shine.

Every time visit Bali staying at Sanur, Massimo is a must.. The pictures taken on several times I had brunch or dinner here..the classic Italian restaurant in Bali, they serve high quality food with fair price My favorite is Spaghetti Meatballs with classic Napoli sauces and tomato chili garlic & Tortellini di Manzo (homemade beef-filled tortellini) with mushroom and ham. And always walk out with gelato in hand

Massimo Italian Restaurant is an amazing place! The entire vibe and atmosphere instantly transport you straight to Italy. The food is outstanding, and we were very impressed with the quality of the Italian classics like the spaghetti and pizza. Surprisingly, we also tried the Indonesian food and found it to be absolutely the best—a must-try! The experience was made even better by the warm service, especially from Ms. Ayuk, who greeted us with such a polite and lovely smile. Thank you for a truly wonderful day! Our second and last visit. Ms. Ayu Sri was the queen of the place. Disturbing her smile and ensuring with the customer everything is well with them. We are lucky because she was our waitress for today. Thanks for her efforts.

Went there a few times during my recent trip. I enjoyed a chilled vibe by the sea. Staff was very pleasant. Food was nice apart from sweet potato chips. They had no taste and was not pleasant to bite. Had to return it. But other than that their smoothies are delicious and granola bowls were amazing

Very good food. Very nice no frills, good food vibe and very accommodating service. We stopped for a late lunch. We wanted higher protein meal so we got a chicken wrap and a burrito bowl and added 2 chicken breasts. Food tasted great, was very easy to adjust our orders. Would definitely come again

This was one of our favourite places to eat during our time in Sanur. It is in a lovely quiet part of the beach, you can sit inside under cover or on the sand. Eating a meal with an ocean view felt very special! The food was great (we loved the healthy breakfast and the potato chunks) and service very friendly.
Claire B — Google review
The genius cafe became our canteen in Sanur, by far the most welcoming place in all of Sanur for food and drinks either for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The staff is simply awesome, the food in good quantity and with outstanding quality for a very affordable price.

Wow! So glad I picked Genius for my 1st meal in Bali! Very fresh, healthy and delicious tasting ginger lemon fish and a dragon fruit smoothie. I highly recommend this dish. It’s a thick white fish served with potatoes, bok choy, spinach, avocado and just full of flavor. Also the staff are great, music is fantastic and you can sit inside or out on the beach. Great prices too. Cheers to being in Bali!
Dee A — Google review
This is the best place in Sanur for me because: 1. I had my first lunch in town here!🤗 2. The dishes are well-cooked and the portions are generous. Everything is honestly fresh and delicious. 3. You might meet some small, friendly stray dogs here — they behave very gently. By the way, the check is more than affordable. PS The coffee here is also exceptional. There are always different kinds of cakes and ice cream on the menu.✌️ Didn't I mention the marvellous sea view?

Hindu temple
Pura Blanjong, an ancient Balinese Hindu temple situated in south Sanur along Jalan Danau Poso, may not boast the same stunning visuals as other temples in Bali, but its historical significance is captivating. The highlight of this National Heritage Site is the Blanjong pillar, dating back to 914 CE and erected by Sri Kesari Warmadewa, the first king of the Balinese Warmadewa dynasty.
This temple is an unique old local inheritance. The pura is place in a not wide area

Whether you're an avid art lover or simply seeking a cultural experience, the gallery promises to be an enriching visit during your time in Sanur.
Really love the space. Were at the opening of CULMINATION exhibition and loved the atmosphere, and all the exhibition itself. Really worth visiting. As far as I know, it will last till June, 29 and they will arrange Artist Talk on June, 1st

The Santrian art Gallery situated within the Santrian hotel beach resort in Sanur, is a really wonderful art gallery. It is situated right in the centre of the hotel resort complex and easily accessible to all the guests who pass by on their way to the pool and to the beach. The gallery space is half in the open air and half inside allowing the visitors to walk through the maze of art hanging on its walls. The high ceilings and the open space gives the art room to breathe and allows the visitors to take in the full scope of the art in the gallery . I came to the gallery this week for an opening opening exhibition from Sawidji Art gallery collective with the opening of the latest monthly exhibition called culmination. Over 20 artists have collaborated for this multi international exhibition which will run from the 10th of May to the 26th of June 2024. The Gallery stuff creta and owner plus the staff are absolutely amazing. They will give you all the information you require regarding any of the artworks and also on hand to deal with purchases.

Bar
Restaurant
Casablanca is a lively venue with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. The band Harmonizer provides energetic performances, making it an enjoyable experience for visitors. Despite some issues with the cleanliness of the toilets, the overall experience is worth a visit. The venue offers comfortable seating, a variety of drinks, and engaging bar staff. It's popular among tourists and locals alike for late-night entertainment, with an upstairs area for those who prefer to watch rather than dance.
Sanur’s nightlife mecca. The go to for partying on in Sanur. Good variety of local bands belting out pop tunes and taking requests. Pool table, dance floor, well priced booze and cheeky bar staff, what more could you want.
Craig L — Google review
150k chicken salad, tea, and water. Fantastic service. They had cover band that played from 9pm-midnight. Top 40, rock, and latin. Small dance area. A bit loud and smoking inside so you might want to sit outside.
Cuong H — Google review
Fun place with live music but the drink prices are more like the prices paid back in the States. I paid over $10 USD for a double vodka and Coke. The band was great but I didn't catch their name. The place was hopping with lots of people but we were easily able to get a seat for our group of four. Go for a great time but be prepared for prices a bit higher than other places in Sanur.

Great late night live music venue in Sanur, possibly the best! We saw Crazy Horse play, they were amazing! Great tunes and crowd work, playing their own set and taking requests. Everyone was up dancing towards the end. Fair drink prices with very attentive staff.
George H — Google review
What a lively bar! The regulars are also polite and seem to be having lots of fun. Price is a tad higher, but for the amazing live music performance, it's worth it. The place is rather humid and hot though. Oh, and there's so many deals happening every day, you'll lost track of them. Highly recommended!

The beach club provides a serene beachside setting with opportunities for picturesque photos in front of the beachside hut. Visitors can enjoy delicious and affordable food options such as pasta, steak, and sandwiches with generous portions and hotel-quality taste. Access to the private beach area requires an entrance fee, but it's worth it for the beautiful surroundings and amenities like hammocks and a kids' play zone.

They changing name become Muntig Siokan. And you suppose to come there for sure! They have a good pasta, steak, and sandwiches. And amazingly its very cheap (28 - 35k) with hotel taste quality and plating. And don't worry, the food portion more than enough. I'm ensure you, you wont regret it. Its private beach, good food, good place for taking pictures, and very cheap. If you enter this private area, you have to pay 10k for adult, and 8k for kids. And they have horses and camel if you want to ride it (additional fee).

This area is a bit of a curiosity... It’s kind of a small island attached to Sanur, half sand / half mangrove, with a pirate theme (I guess for large tour groups) and small beach area for photos only. It’s nice place for family they have good photo spot and the facility for you to enjoy the beach while they play the music. Some facility for kids to play around and really kids friendly. The food is cheap and good taste and they have fire dance at night. Why it’s kids friendly since it’s not like beach club in kuta or seminyak which is mostly young people and couples while here mostly family with good atmosphere

Stumbled upon this place and stopped because we were too tired to walk any further…and we’re so glad we did!!! It’s a great little place, really good vibes, and the staff are great-attentive, friendly and cheerful 😁 THE FOOD ❤️ the food was great-we only had a couple of items, and we loved them! We had the crumbed calamari-it was nice and thin and had a good crunch. My only complaint was that it kind of didn’t taste like much? But add some lime and it was perfect thanks! 🤩 we also had the trio tacos 🌮 one is chicken/beef and fish..with a nice little salad mix, on soft tacos. The flavour (esp the crispy fish!!!) was delicious! We ordered another set, they were that good 😁❤️

Atmosphere - great location, nice and quiet. Came at lunch time and is a busy little spot. Also walked past at dinner time, same again. Gets busy. Had read and heard great things about La Playa Cafe, it’s a fantastic location on the beach and atmosphere is amazingly relaxing. Great selection of food at very reasonable prices. $15 Aud for a rack of pork ribs that were tasted great and falling off the bone, stick to the local food dishes as a they are always amazing. Pizza and pasta were ok but save these for the speciality places. We’ll worth checking La Playa out even if it’s just for a cocktail in the beach 🏖️

With stunning views over the beach and ocean, it’s got that dreamy, laid-back island vibe that makes you want to cancel all your plans and stay all afternoon.☀️🌊👙 Sure, prices are a bit higher than your average Bali spot, but honestly…totally worth it for the setting and experience 😊 Now let’s talk about the lasagna…hands down the best I’ve ever had in my life 😍 Rich, cheesy, perfectly baked layers of magic. I’ve already been back twice just for that dish, and I’m not ruling out a third (or fourth). If you’re looking for a chill spot with incredible food and front-row seats to paradise, La Playa’s your place. Pro tip: get the lasagna and thank me later. 🏖️🍝🌅

Bamboo Beach Bar & Lounge is a one-of-a-kind beachfront spot that offers a unique and extravagant interior with swing seats, comfy sofas, and bamboo chairs for patrons to relax in while enjoying super healthy mocktails, fresh smoothies, and signature cocktails. The bar extends all the way to the beach, allowing guests to lounge on sunbeds right on the sand without interrupting their sunbathing.
Lovely place. Met some colleagues from Bali and they wanted to meet here. Food was great and the people were very friendly. Loved the garden setting.

Overall the food was good but a little expensive I think. The pizza is 110,000 and the crust is pretty dense & crunchy. Pizza at the Hyatt is less expensive and tastes better in my opinion. We also ordered the Caesar salad, my husband enjoyed it.
Kaylee M — Google review
Visited for a relaxed bite and drinks. Started with a couple of mocktails, but unfortunately they were quite light on flavour—more pretty than punchy. The Quattro pizza was a pleasant surprise: light, tasty, and that touch of real pineapple added a lovely balance. Then came the seafood platter, which missed the mark for me. The crumb was super thick and overwhelming, masking the actual seafood and leaving me wishing I’d stopped at the pizza. A heads-up on pricing: the bill came with nearly 80K IDR in taxes alone, which felt steep given the overall experience. Nice ambience with live music on the beach in front, but not sure I’d return for the food.

Disappointing experience. The venue itself is stunning, with a fantastic setting that creates high expectations. Unfortunately, the service was severely lacking—while one staff member worked tirelessly, the rest seemed disengaged. The food arrived cold, and to make matters worse, my wife's meal was delayed by 40 minutes due to being prepared in a separate kitchen. After two weeks of incredible dining experiences, this final night was a major letdown here at the Broken Bamboo Bar…..

Avoid to order Caesar salad and Club sandwich, or you will get a whole plate of almost only lettuce and a sandwich made with food you'd get at any hotel breakfast buffet…

Quality food/ drinks: We had just a Cappuccino and some potato wedges. The capuccino was very tasty, the wedge werent that bad. But the prices was to expensive for this qualitiy. Service: By far the worst Service in Bali we had. Nobody cares about you. The team doesnt seem to communicate with each other. We we're asked svereal times the Same questions and the ordering process was extremly long. At least the we're all very friendly. Ambiente: The bar is on the beach with a beautiful view, you will be dry if it rains and also most of the chairs are very comfortable.

Bamboo Beach Bar is truly an amazing place with a delightful Happy Hour with daily cocktails and wine. The staff are truly amazing as well. They are courteous, friendly but above all - professional. Food is delightfully prepared and presented. Entertainment is always exceptional with live music and weekly theme nights. Highly recommend Bamboo Beach Bar for a most enjoyable evening.

Sala Bistro & Coffee, a beloved neighborhood spot since 2017, offers a relaxed atmosphere with cozy spaces for casual dining. The menu features a variety of international dishes made from fresh and wholesome ingredients, including indulgent burgers alongside healthier options. The Portobello burger is particularly recommended for those seeking a modern twist on a veggie burger. Additionally, Sala is known for its refined coffee experience and serves Seniman Coffee during the day.
always coming back here again and again! Sala has truly become my go to spot! my favorite is the tuna poke bowl, it’s my ultimate comfort food! i’ve visited both for brunch and dinner (sharing some pics from different visits) and everything is always a chef’s kiss. definitely a place i always recommend to my closest ones! 🤩😍

If it had not been for their open plan layout (suitable if it's located in a tranquil area, but a disaster when located next to a very busy road), i wouldve given legit 5 stars. I ordered buddha bowl. The food is exquisite and extremely nutritious. A mix of varieties of proteins and fibers from plant-based to animal, perfect for me who loves both. It's just the road noise that hinders my dining experience.

Loved this place Staff were incredibly friendly and kept checking if we needed anything. The smash avo and hash benedict were delicious, and I liked that you can add toppings like salmon or bacon. The café has great plating, clear menu photos, and a cozy atmosphere. It’s also pet-friendly. Nice spot on Sanur’s main street.
Sun C — Google review
Maybe living on its past but I found this to be average fare. I had morning glory. Partner had a smoothie bowl, which she described as like eating ice cream in the middle. All in all, underwhelming and not be rushing back. It was a 25min walk from where we are staying. There are other comparative places on the same street. Coffee was good. Canvas is still our #1 for smoothie bowls.
Paul D — Google review
Popped in for a quick coffee and drink. Ordered an iced chocolate (served with sugar syrup on the side) and an affogato—both were nicely done and hit the spot. Tried a slice of carrot cake, but unfortunately found it quite dry and not to my taste. Service was friendly and welcoming, and the café layout is with a smoking section at the front and non-smoking at the back.

Cute spot for brunch, very modern-day hipster cafe vibe. Super delicious coffee (we recommend the Mont Blanc if you’re feeling like coffee and dessert in one). Very good falafel bowl and hash egg Benedict.

Art Museums
The Bali Museum, located in the heart of Denpasar city, offers a rich display of Balinese art and history. The museum's compound is adjacent to the Jagatnatha Temple and close to the Puputan Badung field, making it easily accessible for visitors. Inside, visitors can explore traditional courtyards and discover a diverse collection of artifacts.
Really good place to visit if you are really interested in learning about other countries culture. Not much commercial activities, peacefully you can learn about Balinese culture
Raghavendra M — Google review
I was very excited to see that there was a museum nearby our home stay, because I love to learn about history and culture. Safe to say this was kind of a let down. Having to pay 100k per person doesn’t seem so bad, but immediately after you pay there will be other people that try to become your guide for another 100k. Which seems kind of weird. Especially since their English left something to be desired. I read online that you would learn about the history of Bali and while it isn’t exactly untrue, there was no silver lining or a sort of “story” you could follow along. It was just bits and fragments from different periods crammed together without much text to learn what these things actually mean. And the texts that were there had lots of grammatical errors, though those errors weren’t that big of an issue. The area and temples you enter and walk through were arguably more interesting than the actual exhibit. I was able to get some nice pictures! Overall as something I was looking forward to doing during my visit in Indonesia it fell short of what I had hoped, that being said. It was a nice change of pace of all the tourism and crowded areas since there was no waiting time and not a lot of visitors.
Stan R — Google review
This so-called museum is seriously overpriced for foreigners, terribly maintained and managed. As a foreigner, you're charged 100k for entrance, but the place is smaller than a football field, with three poorly presented small exhibitions. Many of the exhibits are missing and exhibition boards in shambles. They charge foreigners so much money, yet the English introductions are barely readable. This museum is part of a larger temple complex. You can visit the other part, but as many temples in Indonesia, you need to pay for a sarong and haggle with the guy at the door. This can be quite annoying and a deal breaker for many people. So I reckon just don't go, you don't have to go there in order to see good temples buildings. The place has two entrances, one for tourists, the other for staff. But the one for staff is not guarded at all, which means anyone can just waltz right in and enter the museum grounds without paying! All in all, not recommended at all, and you won't be missing much either.
Leon L — Google review
A must go place and you will learn a lot about Bali history, rituals tradition etc. 100k per person entrance and another 100k perperson for the tour guide (i think was not necessary but, he presents him self) but for more information i recommend to have one you can ask a lot questions about Bali culture and he explains a lot. A person selling paints and tradional bali calendar or book make sure to bargain starting price is high. All in all we learned a lot about Bali culture and history highly recommended and our Driver said not much people are interested to check the museum probably also due to traffic but nevertheless its a recommended place.
Maita G — Google review
The museum is not very rich in collection, some display boxes were empty not sure if the item is missing or taken!! It definitely could have been more better, more information about Bali history, ancient artifacts could have been displayed. Moreover, I didn't find my answers that I was looking for. But the buildings are very beautiful and clean yard. I saw a very sick cat, seemed like no one cares about it much. Contacted a local foundation to help, hopefully the poor kitty will get some medical attention. Edit: Kitty did not get any help yet, I tried many ways, someone went but could found the kitty. if someone can stop him kindly try to help please.
Nandini S — Google review
Great collections and buildings, however not-so-strong storyline and context for a museum of one top known culture in the world.
Prita — Google review
The museum pieces are lovely and the buildings in which they are housed are museum pieces themselves, the grounds are clean and well maintained

This is a lovely beach along the nearly 5km stretch of Sanur Beaches. It is situated on the the southern side in between Mertasari Beach and Semawong Beach. There are nice hotels and eateries in the area. The promenade that passes through has tall trees and good shade. You'll find areas with lounge chairs, good sand and swimming conditions. It is a nice beach to visit and is easily connected to sister beaches to the east and northeast because of the promenade which you can walk or cycle. We really enjoyed this particular little beach in Sanur.

We came to the beach during low tide and were dissapointed. Bad smell of sea grass didn’t help either. Lots of shade and places to eat at favorable prices though, but that’s not what we came for.

Excellent beach, safe for kids, clean and the water is mostly beautiful. The only BIG issue are all the electric bikes zooming up the only footpath. Beeping at you with all their righteousness.. There are a few beaches along this strip that all merge into one, but if you start down by the Mercure hotel, Metasari Beach and walk all the way up to Sindhu it's about 6ks and a great walk.

Farmers Markets
Sanur Market, also known as Pasar Tradisional Desa Sanur, is a bustling fresh market located near Sindhu Beach. It features numerous vendors occupying most of the parking space and offers a wide variety of fresh local products. The market is fully air-conditioned but can get crowded and overwhelming during the day. Visitors can find stalls run by women selling clothing, souvenirs, and other items. Bargaining is common here, as vendors try to maximize their profits.
Good place to try balinese street food. When we visited, there were about 9 different tiny street-food Restaurants there, some places haven't been occupied, maybe due to raining season. Food was quite good with pretty low prices.
Tobias M — Google review
It’s an alright spot to walk around, but just beware of all the touting. It can get very aggressive, and rather uncomfortable. One lady in particular would follow you around and shout at you if you don’t buy her products. Kinda insane, but just ignore her.
Keith T — Google review
It's ok but one stall holder followed and hounded us from the beach path all the way into the market area. Needless to say I didn't but anything from her. The other shops all sell the same thing. Clothing, sarongs and woven stuff.
Tutorials B — Google review
😌Watch out! This is truly a tourist area 😌Sanur market is an elaborate pedestrian market along the road to the beach 😌They tried to offer some souvenirs, bracelets, dream catchers, taxis etc 😌If you want to buy something you have to bargain because they try to make as much money as possible (if you don't bid they just mess you up)
Whynot S — Google review
About 20 stalls all run by women selling pretty much the same thing - cotton dresses, tops, pants and little souvenirs. Buy something at one and you best leave immediately, or commit to buying more stuff you don't need at several more! You'll probably "over pay" but it's fun and the stall holders are nice, even if they're pushy.
Petstarr — Google review
Terrible place, they are pushing to buy and asking for pay. the lady took me from the main street and did not let me go before I bought something kept saying help for her. Once I paid, another lady asked for help for her to ask well. Very weird experience.

Great traditional stands with no pushing staff. Great atmosphere and a real pleasure shopping and eating with extreme fair prices.

Hotel
Nestled in the beautiful Sanur, Bali, Maya Sanur Resort & Spa offers a luxurious beachfront experience. The resort features 3 pools, including a lagoon pool, and boasts chic dining options as well as a rooftop garden and spa facilities. Guests can indulge in massages and body treatments at the spa or enjoy recreational amenities such as a fitness center and bike rentals. Tree Bar at Maya Sanur provides an exceptional dining experience with stunning views and a diverse menu to cater to all tastes.
We had a lovely 5 night stay at Maya Sanur, a wonderful start to our Bali trip. The staff were extremely welcoming and attentive in all areas of the hotel. Our lagoon suite was spacious, comfortable and the direct access to the lagoon pool was enjoyed everyday. The breakfast (7-11am) was excellent, with great choice and availability at all times. We were also able to obtain breakfast boxes for an early 6am start. We enjoyed the free yoga class with beautiful views of the beach and the complimentary afternoon tea. We also loved the private Indonesian culinary class on the garden terrace, where we made six traditional dishes with the guidance of Nanik and Krisna who were excellent hosts and very patient with 2 amateur cooks! Special mention also to Hendra (housekeeping) whose thoughtful gestures brought a smile to all of our family. The hotel is right on the beach and many restaurants and bars are well within walking distance. Would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone considering staying in Sanur.
Kevin C — Google review
The exterior of the hotel is amazing. There was some minor work ongoing outside, but this did not bother us. The lobby is beautiful, but no fans or air-conditioning, and felt very hot. The front counter staff were just ok. We had an issue with our booking via luxury escapes, and whilst the staff were understanding, they were very inflexible, especially considering this was an anniversary trip for myself and my husband. We were taken to our room. The corridors are extremely long, open, and very hot. Again no fans. The lifts are very poor. They look and smell like airport lifts and not a luxury first impression at all. Our room was absolutely stunning. A lagoon nest suite. Fantastic aircon, amazing bathroom- although the seperate toilet was very small. We waited over half an hour for our luggage, and when it didn't appear went to the reception. There was a panic as they couldn't locate it, but after 10 minutes we were told it had just been delivered to our room. We decided to go back, unpack and shower as by this point up and down the corridor we were so hot! Once in the shower, we discovered the shampoo smelled absolutely foul. On opening it, it was just old smelly water!? We told the front counter as we passed to go the restaurant, and they were very apologetic, and it was changed. The restaurants are a real stand out here. The food and drinks are amazing with lots of options, and the staff at all the restaurants are the absolute best! The Rue quickly became our favourite, with Intan especially making our experience a dream. The pool areas are stunning, and the overall look of the hotel is truly beautiful and close to the beach. On exit we were told we could have use of the 'lounge' near the spa. This turned out to be a sofa at the back of the gift shop. No air con had been turned on and the room was extremely hot. We could not stay in there, so went back to Rue to get a cold drink ro try and cool.down whilst we waited for our airport transfer. Very dissapointed with that room which did not give a great last impression We would book direct with the hotel if we booked again too and not via luxury escapes again
WA A — Google review
My wife and I stayed here for the second half of our trip. We really enjoyed our stay for the first half of the trip in Ubud, so the bar was already set high. We booked the Heavenly Suite with Private Pool room. The hotel and room was nice, but nothing really stood out for us. Typical resort style with everything you need on site. The main pool and restaurant was just on the other side of the bushes from our room, but surprisingly the noise was very minimal if any at all. Happy hour each evening was nice. Easy walk to the beach and paved sidewalk the entire length of the beach for getting from one point to another. Multiple restaurants on site or walking distance, but you can expect the prices to be closer to what you are usto. The food was good though and we did venture away from the resort a little, but once outside the resort the sidewalks are currently tore up and being replaced. This was definitely the nicest resort in the area, we walked both ways and didn't see one nicer. The one thing we noticed about Bali is that it takes forever to get a short distance if using a motor vehicle so plan accordingly. However, there is a lot of things just a short walk from the resort including grocery stores. Grab is a good app for catching a ride, we used it several times and once getting back to the airport with no issues. Short delay in getting checked it and small delays communicating via Whatsapp; however easy check out. If you are looking for the conveniences (all in one) of your standard resort, then this is the one.
Nathan — Google review
We would like to say a big thank you to Rendi, always greeting us and checking in. Also to Hendra for the lovely animal/towel sculptures made and place on our bed with a nice note to wish us well. (It gave us a giggle) all the staff are great and are willing to help you anyway they can. Our room was clean and presented well. The Maya beach frontage is quite small, but we were happy with our private pool section and prefer the pool to swim in. I would recommend to do the cooking class, we had the chef Widi, we can now go home with some new Indonesian recipes to try. Thank you.
Denice D — Google review
Overall our stay was nice. I don’t think we would return as a family however. Butler service was very helpful and appreciated. The rooms are very small for more than 2 people, it was too small for our family of 4 (2 children 2 adults) considering the expensive cost to stay here. The bathroom is lovely. Pools are lovely. Views are beautiful of the beach from restaurant and pool. Food options are not extensive and are more on the expensive side. Staff are very kind. Buffet is expensive for breakfast for both adults and children. No basic foods to order al a carte for children for breakfast like toast so you either buy your own and make it (without kitchenette) or pay 17.50 for buffet. A lot of young children would not eat 17.50 worth of breakfast. Our young son ate a piece of watermelon from our plate that we had finished with and the restaurant attempted to charge us 17.50. Turn down service can be quite late considering children are in rooms. Kids club is great and our kids really enjoyed this.
Megan G — Google review
I do not like to leave negative reviews, particularly in Bali, as I appreciate the kindness and genuine nature of the Balinese. However I feel compelled to put some thoughts down. We rely heavily on reviews, and always objectively read them. So I want to share our experience of The Maya. We are a little perplexed at the rave reviews of The Maya. As we certainly didn't come away wowed. It is architecturally impressive, however that is at the expense of any sort of soul. This is also probably contributed to the starkness and lack of charm throughout and also very little warmth from the staff. We are now staying at hotel #4 of our trip, and each one has highlighted the shortfalls of The Maya. The positive is that the room - we only stayed in a garden view room; was spacious, lovely and clean, with a very lovely large bath. A comfortable bed. Which, despite requesting a king bed twice, when booking and also in an email, we were given twin beds. The room was comfortable though. The biggest disappointment was loud construction going on at the bar during the day, which is right by the pool. Whilst I understand improvements must happen, however when it impacts one of the primary sources of the hotel and people's main area for relaxing whilst on holiday, we should be given notice and options. It was impossible to relax at the pool with grinding and jack hammering going on all day. It was extremely loud. Whilst I realise there are 2 other pool options - realistically both are completely unappealing. The lagoon one is for the lagoon rooms and the other a small family pool, in the open heat which is littered with leaves and zero appeal. In all honesty this really impacted our stay, being unable to be by the pool, or sit in the bar area without excessive noise. Had we have known, we would have made a different choice. Apart from the noise, it really was that lack of charm and little touches that make a stay memorable. That personal, welcoming feeling, which we arr currently getting in spades in Seminyak. This just never happened, from check in to check out. There were pleasantries, just nothing above that. We felt it fell short of a 5 star hotel.

We had a wonderful time here as a family. The staff were very kind, and everything was always perfectly prepared. Our butler, Rendi, was always friendly and attentive. If you are traveling with children, I highly recommend the lagoon pool — being able to swim anytime was fantastic. My child loved it so much that we would definitely consider coming back in the future.

My kids loved the kids club, they had a great time staying here. The staff from kids club Linda, Unik, Asih and Lasmi are very helpful playing with the kids. They are working everyday so kids are able to get familiar and be friends with them. The lady Susla (I’m not sure if I spell her name correctly) from the spa centre was also very kind. My daughter had fun feeding fish there.

Warung Krishna is a hidden gem in Sanur, offering some of the best Balinese cuisine. Located on Jalan Kutat Lestari, this off-the-beaten-path eatery serves up authentic dishes like fish satay and lawar, a flavorful mix of vegetables, shredded coconut, and herbs. The buffet-style service allows you to pick and choose your favorites with ease.
Really nice warung with nice outdoor seating area. Still relaxing even though next to busy road. Food came out quick and the staff were friendly. I enjoyed the Nasi ayam
EmmasFoodOdyssey — Google review
The place is a typical Warung and mostly serves locals. If you can speak a bit of Bahasa it helps as they have little to no English. As they sat us down, we asked for the menu but apparently there is not such thing as they serve only one dish available. So we obliged and awaited for the surprised dish, we figured it must be tasty and somewhat well-balanced. They also sold us "freshly squeezed" orange juice which was probably half orange watered down up to 3/4 of the glass. When the food arrived it was stone cold and consisted of a bit of white rice and broken up boiled chicken with a couple of green leaves and a quarter of overboiled egg. The taste was very bland and tasted just like the ingredients mentioned, boiled rice and boiled dry chicken. If this was the delicacy that was so well praised in the previous comments, so be it, we can make peace with these cold and bland flavors but when they charge you almost 150k rs for it, you just realize that, they not only dont care about the food they serve, they are also not interested in creating returning customers and have very little respect for foreigners. This is such a shame as we were hoping for some authentic food experience. We dont mind paying for decent food and or the experience but this was almost like a slap in the face. Fingers crossed we won't get sick from cold food that has been sitting there for hours...

I am a regular visitor to this local warung. It serves a set dish; “nasi campur bali”, either with plain rice or porridge with a full broth. Accompanied with local sambal (matah) . Always drink the freshly squeezed orange juice (Indonesian style) asked without sugar. After ordering the food arrived within minutes . I will be back again.

The food was nice, the staff kind. Even they has renovation place in front but people still can eat in the back warung and the place is nice.

Absolutely disgusting food. Mostly bones and fat. They told us there is only one food option and no menu. We paid 102k for 2 meals and 2 waters. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

My brother took me to here. Even though I'm veganism, but it is still taste very good. Few vegetables are available like typical mixture of different onion and spicis ava tomato, cucumber and it's special combination of sauces that becomes Bali only. Also mixture of green vegetables from green beans, baby green bean, papaya leaves. And fried Tempe like chips, crunch peanuts. Of course date ayam and chicken broth. Simple vegetables and meat, balance of sauce, with years of heart work, shows it's own flavor. Happiness comes from a looks simple and best daily best food. Comfortably and smile go on all day long from you mouth, tongue, stomach, eyes and memories, most important is from your burp. I always visit whenever I'm here. This is my must recommend restaurant to you. Little parking in front, few space can be park near by, washroom is there.

Very very tasty n delicious. Balinese chicken rice. Both dry and with soup(with rice cake) are really good. The service is fast and the restaurant is very clean and bright with big and thick long table. Very recommended.
D K — Google review
Consistent taste, clean place, fast service. They sell authentic ayam bali dish with lawar and you could pick either rice, rice cake or porridge to eat with it. The smokey flavour of the chicken, garnish with sambal matah, fried peanut, lawar putih and minced chicken satay, make me keep coming back to this warung.

Pura Dalem Pengembak is a serene seaside temple located near Mertasari Beach, offering a tranquil atmosphere for meditation and contemplation. Surrounded by mangrove trees, it is a place where the ritual of melukat, or soul purification, takes place. The temple attracts worshippers during full moon and special days. It's a hidden gem that provides a peaceful escape from the bustling tourist areas, allowing visitors to experience the authentic Bali.
this temple like a treasure in hiden beach.. i like the environment arround it. so calm and peacefully.. local people praying to "Dewa Baruna" in here.. which God related to the sea.. in the entrance gate area.. u can found a river.. so many people enjoy their time and chill out while fishing.. quiet.. calm.. a good view. if u look for a romantic nature, i recommend this one

Nice and peaceful little detour temple to visit when touring Sanur, surrounded by mangrove glades. Would not consider it a destination in itself, for tourism purposes, but definitely worth a visit if out exploring Sanur area on a scooter or bicycle.

A tranquil and peaceful place close to a beautiful beachfront area that is very popular with locals and tourists who like to see a bit more of the real Bali rather the the bricks and bitumen of Kuta. This is great temple where the Hindu people can take time out to reflect and find inner peace.

The Hyatt Regency Bali is a chic hotel located just steps away from the gleaming white sands of Sanur Beach. The hotel features distinctive architecture and lush tropical gardens, with 389 traditional Balinese-styled guest rooms and suites that offer views of the beautiful surroundings. The property boasts two open-air restaurants, including a family-friendly pizzeria, as well as three swimming pools and the Shankha Spa for exclusive wellness treatments.
We were lucky enough to stay here for a few nights in June and enjoyed every minute of our time at this hotel. The rooms are well equipped, and the entire facility is clean and very well maintained. But above all, it's the people who make this place so special. The hospitality is second to none, from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. The food, especially the breakfast, and the pool area round off this great impression. We would definitely like to thank the staff at the fruit stand and the food stalls—we would come back again and again! 😊

We stayed twice at the Hyatt Regency Bali and absolutely loved it. The staff is incredibly attentive, the food delicious, and the breakfast buffet amazing. Everything we asked for was handled quickly and with care. We were lucky to be upgraded both times, which made the stay even better. The only small downside was that our ground-floor terrace wasn’t covered, so we couldn’t sit outside when it rained. But most are, so just ask when booking. Everything is designed to make travel easy. even after checkout, we could return in the evening to shower and change before our late flight. It was my first Hyatt experience, and I’ll definitely keep choosing them for future trips.

It’s one of the best beach resorts I’ve stayed at. The location couldn’t be better, the room was stylish and comfortable, and the food was genuinely great, I especially love their breakfast, with a wide selection of quality dishes served until 11 AM (don’t skip it!). The private beach is clean and peaceful, and there’s always something interesting on the activity schedule. The staff were kind, attentive, and always ready to help. My favourite moments in Bali were at the Hyatt Regency.
Linh T — Google review
I have only positive reviews for the Hyatt. The front desk staff were very very welcoming and professional, explained everything to me. The room was superb, nothing negative to say there. The facilities were beyond beautiful and easy to navigate. Breakfast was the highlight of my day along with the slushies. It’s refreshing to stay at a hotel and sun beds weren’t an issue. The Hyatt made sure abandoned day beds were readily available. Not much of much for vegetarians but I just stuck to the same things which wasn’t so bad. Overall I felt safe considering I was a solo traveller.

I stayed for 5 days here and felt in love with this hotel. The location in Sanur area is good and relatively more quiet than West side of Bali. It is directly on the beach front and offers a breathtaking sunrise view every morning. It si worthy to wake up early, do yoga or jogging on the beach side while waiting for sunrise. The employees are very friendly, full of smile, and radiating willingness to help and serve. The hotel room is comfortable and the buffet during breakfast is amazing. The breakfast menu is changing daily and the guests can enjoy freshly cut tropical fruits or bring the coffee to go with them. The pools are family friendly but there is also adult only pool near gym facility. The massage program is relaxing and a muss to try! Definitely will recommend to anyone, give it 5 stars and probably will come here again in the future.
Muhammad A — Google review
This property has natural ambience with many beautiful gardens and beach is adjacent though it is not private. The landscaping is well maintained which create a tranquil and relax atmosphere. Room furniture is mostly made by wood and is spacious. Services are also excellent. Breakfast area can be warm as it is not air conditioned and also very crowded with narrow walking path. Connectivity to main building from rooms is via level 1 and 3 only.
Jonathan P — Google review
My partner’s parents had one of the worst experiences here. The room and the food were all nice, but on the day they checked out, the staff informed them they had to pay an additional fee. It turned out the system had glitched, yet the hotel kept them waiting for nearly an hour, insisting they needed to pay before leaving. After checking again, the staff finally admitted it was their mistake. Honestly, what kind of service asks guests to cover a charge caused by the hotel’s own error? It was absolutely disgraceful. Would they return? Absolutely not. And would I stay here myself? Also absolutely not. I wouldn’t risk another sudden rate change or system glitch. A very inconvenient and disappointing end to their stay.

I used the Club Lounge during my stay and was deeply touched by the kindness of one of the servers, Ratih. While she was serving us, I noticed she had a lovely fragrance, so I carefully asked what perfume she was wearing. Even though she wasn’t scheduled to work the next day, she left a gift of that perfume at the reception with my room number. Her thoughtfulness and warm heart truly made my stay unforgettable. Thanks to her, my first trip to Bali will remain an even more joyful and special memory. I am sincerely grateful to Ratih.

Updated with food pics. Great place for brunch. The food is tasty fresh and mostly on the healthier side. They even have gluten free and vegan options. Nice flat white. They give a double shot unless you ask for a single. So be aware of that. I prefer the single shot.

This is the first time we have eaten at Dusk Blue. I like this place as a spot to chill out, have a coffee, and watch the world go by. It is pretty pricey for Bali & meals aren't big. hey also have a little corner with toys for kids, have a baby chair and crayons/etc to keep kids entertained. Service was friendly and fast. The food was very well cooked and there were lots of healthy options.

Delicious food at a lovely place! I had some roasted vegetables and some delicious deep fried pink balls with goats cheese (can't remember the name) and a fresh mint tea. I loved it!

The best breakfast we had while staying in Sanur. We had a villa right down the road and walked past Dusk Blue for the first 2 days.. then on the 3 day, we popped in and were blown away by the quality and flavour of the food. It was a 5 star breakfast. The eggs benedict was awesome. My husband orders eggs benny from any restaurant that serves it, so he's somewhat a connoisseur. He said it was the best he's ever had. He even asked the chef how they make their Hollandaise. I had scrambled eggs with goat cheese and herbs with a spinach salad on the side. It was spectacular. We returned the next day to order the exact same items and added on the crepe which was awesome too. I wish we didn't skip this place for the first 2 days of our stay in the area. I highly recommend this restaurant. It's super cute. The music is so great. They have a little retail area with beautiful things to buy.

Neptune Scuba Diving Bali, located in Sanur, is a gateway to stunning dive sites suitable for both beginners and experienced divers. The dive school offers a chance to explore the vibrant marine life. Visitors have praised the excellent service and professionalism of the staff, as well as their flexibility and enthusiasm during trips. Whether it's taking a PADI course or enjoying fun dives, Neptune Scuba Diving Bali provides memorable experiences with knowledgeable trainers and friendly staff.
The whole experience from start to finish with Neptune was 10/10. The ladies at reception were so helpful with information and advice even before I arrived. Welcomed with big smiles and made to feel like family. Friendly and professional instructors who made me feel safe and at ease during all 6 of my dives. Special shout out to Gede and Koplak who have such an eye for spotting all the wonderful creatures underwater! Cannot reccomend this company enough and I’ll only ever dive with them again when I return to Bali Thank you all so much ☺️

Can’t recommend Neptune enough, their communication is flawless as well as organization of a driver to drive us to/from our hotel. There were 5 customers on the boat with us but my friend and I had our own guide, Muli, which I appreciated since I don’t have a lot of experience. Muli was incredibly helpful! This was my favorite part of our Bali trip.

I can’t recommend Neptune enough. If you’re looking for the perfect way to experience Bali’s unique marine life, this would be the way to go. Our guide, Noe, was very experienced and helpful throughout the entire way. His knowledge and expertise made it all the more smooth and enjoyable. Noe took amazing videos of us during our dives and we got to see such a wide variety of marine life. Neptune was very accommodating with all our needs- providing lunches, water, and gear. They had great facilities at the dive center, and helped us with a refresher the day before our dive. Thank you to Neptune for providing a truly memorable experience!

We had the chance to do three dives in Bali with Neptune Scuba Diving, and it was truly an experience we’ll never forget. From the very beginning, we were impressed by the seamless, thoughtful, and professional organization of the entire team. Every detail was taken care of to make us feel safe, relaxed, and fully able to enjoy the experience. A special thank you for the exceptional kindness and care shown to my wife, who was diving for the very first time. Thanks to the team’s patience, support, and genuine warmth, she felt confident and had an amazing time underwater. The dive sites were absolutely stunning — we were lucky enough to see manta rays, turtles, lobsters, lionfish, pufferfish, moray eels, a coral snake, a school of barracudas… and so much more. Between dives, we were also treated to delicious food on board, which made the day feel even more special. The team was just as incredible as the underwater world they helped us discover. Thank you, Neptune, for an experience that will stay with us forever!

Incredible experience with the diving and the staff. I don’t want to spoil but the diving spots they take you are worth going. A bit crowded but it was not a problem for us under the water. We have amazing memories. I’ve been diving for a while now and never been welcomed from a diving center like Neptune: tea/coffee before/after the dive, fruits snacks, tasty lunch, biscuits and your own water bottle on the boat. Edwin, our guide, was the nicest and most professional you’ll ever meet. He makes you so comfortable and makes all the explanations very clear. The commodities have showers (with soap and shampoo!) and they’ll give you dry towels. Which is nice when you have to jump in a cab straight after the dive for the next destination :) Thank you!

Sanur Beach in Bali offers a unique experience compared to other beaches on the island. It is known for its serene atmosphere, making it perfect for an early morning walk as the sun rises. The beach boasts a calm ocean and stunning views of Nusa Penida Island and Agung Volcano, making it an ideal spot for both sunrise and sunset. While there are beach sellers offering various handmade items, they are not as aggressive as those in other areas like Kuta.
A quiet beach with plenty of cool-looking boats. There's many types of foods you can try and place to sit near the beach. It's definitely not a good place to surf, but if you want to tan, eating or walk your pets, this is a great place. If you're willing to walk more around the beach, you'll find yourself finding new places that you might be interested in too.
Volin D — Google review
Came down to watch the sunrise, but it was too cloudy that day. Otherwise it would have been spectacular!
M C — Google review
Beautiful beach and especially serene for an early morning walk while the weather is cooler and the businesses along the beach are still closed. It's more of a sunrise beach due to the location vs other beaches around the city which are better to visit at sunset. It's quiet early during my visit and the sunrise was before 6am. There are quite a few folks walking, jogging, biking that early in the morning. The low tide left fisherman boat on the dry ground and lots of dogs milling around were my other observations.
Saifu A — Google review
A relatively quiet beach for Bali, the Sanur Beach is home to a full spectrum of resorts, hotels, restaurants, bars - great and not so great. Choose your price point and have an adventure. Great for long walks regardless of the season or the weather. Warm shallow waters.

A bit different than the majority of the beaches on Bali. Located on the east coast in Sanur is a perfect place for walk with children and families. Kite & Surf Bali is your go-to beach outfitter for all things kiteboarding and stand-up paddleboarding. This vibrant hub not only offers a wide range of kites, kiteboards, and accessories but also hosts the spectacular annual Bali Kite Festival every July in Padang Galak. During this event, teams from various Denpasar villages showcase their creativity by flying massive homemade kites against the stunning backdrop of Bali's blue skies.
I had the luck of staying at a nearby hotel of the kitesurfing school so if they didn’t respond via WhatsApp I could just go on the beach and ask for a lesson. The instructors were very welcoming and supportive(me being a begginer). They were nice and if it happened for them to see me on the beach even if I wasn’t there for a lesson they said hi! They actually were the highlight of my holiday! I recommend!

I took some lessons at Bali Kitesurf school. The team is motivated and and helps with proper instructions to improve your skills. The price is reasonable (Rp 700k) and comparable to the other place in the area. For intermediate riders, they take you with the boat. The spot is fine and big enough. In case of wind, which seems to become sometimes a hassle, the spot is used by other schools as well. I saw that they had some new kites but overall the material is already in use for some time. Considering the price and the fact of the Covid, the last 2 years, I did not expect the latest and greatest gear. It’s suitable for training purposes. You get a protection vest and a helmed, if you want. Overall I’m satisfied with the team and the job they did. I can recommend it for intermediate riders. Thanks.

Had a lesson to build my IKO level 3 skills. Wayan was a great instructor and I made good progress in a 1 hour lesson. Great value for money, less than half the price of Ripcurl. Lesson was one on one. Instructor was in the boat, which was great as when i needed to get back up wind, he would take the kite and I would jump in and 2 mins later i could start again with plenty of room. Can’t comment on the school gear as I used my own, but looked to be relatively decent Cabrinah gear. Big kites only here, 12m and above. Great flat water spot. The school is run more like a “club” than an organised school. Facilities are limited - no showers, no toilets, no drinking water, no lockers, limited shade, etc. There was no way to make a reservation in advance on the website, by email or by phone / whatsapp. This was slightly frustrating as my holiday time is valuable to me but I chose this place knowing this. If a confirmed reservation is important to you, go to Ripcurl and pay the price. Otherwise turn up early, be prepared to wait and enjoy the view :) that being said, I turned up at midday and was able to get out relatively quickly. I will be back :)

Do NOT go here. I confirmed classes the day before, message on the day one hour before we are leaving to confirm the guy says come. When we arrive - the guy says “ sorry no wind today” and starts smirking. He started getting very hostile when we asked why he didn’t tell us from the beginning before we set off. There are MANY stores near by that are much more credible - do NOT use this guy and avoid the aggressive man Editing because the owner is pretending this is a different page - it’s not he runs this kite surfing school. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

A wonderful experience for my partner on her first kite surfing lesson. The team went above and beyond to help, and she was using the board in first lesson. Location was great for a beginner and using a boat in lesson meant lots of good water time, rather than walking upwind every 5 minutes. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to start kiting. Pantai Indah Sanur is a serene gem along the Sanur coastline, boasting calm and crystal-clear waters that are perfect for families with young children. The shallow depths make it an ideal spot for little ones to splash around safely. Early morning visits are recommended to avoid the heat of midday, as shade can be hard to find later in the day. This tranquil beach features one of the largest trees in the area, providing a natural swing and a cozy spot for both tourists and their furry friends.
Beautiful beach in Sanur, the beach in Sanur is pretty much just one beach split into many small beaches. The water is warm and clean. The beaches are neat and tidy. It's an excellent place to bring your kids late in the afternoon. There are also many trees that provide well needed shade.

But my advice is that it's better to come in the morning, because when it's a little later in the day, the conditions here are really hot and it's hard to find a shady place. Oh yes, and the entrance can only be used by motorbike, cars can't enter 🫶 (Original) Pantai yg airnya tenang dan jernih bangett! I did not have a great experience with this company but I am giving 4 stars because they handled the situation well, but it was not what I expected. I emailed and What’s App’d Jankie in advance and he was very responsive and answered all my questions really well. I paid the 150,000 IDR deposit in advance and he instructed and set my date. I signed up for an intermediate SUP surfing lesson. I explained to Jankie over email about my experience etc. I live in Hawaii and have been surfing for 10 years. I decided to travel to Sanur specifically because of this lesson as SUP surfing is not common and it seemed like a great company. I wanted a lesson because I wanted help to improve my surfing. I arrived to the meeting place and a few minutes later a guy showed up. He did not introduce himself. I had to ask him his name and if he was the instructor. He said he was, that his name was Stop and that Jankie was in Italy. His English was really poor and he wasn’t particularly friendly. I was the only person in the lesson, which I do appreciate them doing the lesson with just me as they usually have a 2 person minimum. He gave me a few tips but he was very difficult to understand. He also could not answer any questions I had because he couldn’t understand me. Even a simple question like “what is the tide doing”? He would also catch the first wave of each set which is bad manners in my opinion. I was paying for a lesson and how is he supposed to give me tips if he catches a wave before me. When we got back he said he would only charge for the board rental because “I could already surf” he said “most people who sign up for an intermediate lesson have only been surfing one time.” I thought to myself “that is why I signed up for an intermediate lesson!” Because he only charged me for the board rental I am still giving 4 stars but the experience was not what I was expecting. They do have great equipment and the break is nice and forgiving so excellent for beginners. Although it is VERY shallow which took getting used to for me. There is a good 1 k paddle to get to it so I would really consider the boat shuttle option next time. I know this review is really long but I hope I might save someone the heart ache I experienced. I would recommend this company for beginners though.

(Translated by Google) The best place to rent SUP and wingfoil equipment or learn to wingfoil. Best material and Jankie is a great teacher. Before you go out on the water, be sure to ask Jankie about the water level as it is often too low for foiling (but it is always possible in the canal in front of the harbor, you just have to walk a little). Jankie also has very nice villas and cabins for rent. (Original) Der beste Platz um Sup und Wingfoil-Ausrüstung zu mieten oder Wingfoilen zu lernen. Bestes Material und Jankie ist ein toller Lehrer. Sacred & Religious Sites
Pura Tirta Empul, situated in the Manukaya Village of Tampaksiring, Gianyar, is a significant Hindu temple in Bali known for its holy spring water used for ritual purification. The temple features a bathing area where Balinese Hindus partake in ceremonial purification processes such as melasti and melukat. Tourists are also drawn to participate in these purifying rituals.
Pura Tirta Empul is one of the most spiritual and culturally rich places to visit in Bali. Located near Tampaksiring, this beautiful water temple is famous for its holy spring water, where locals and visitors come to perform purification rituals. The moment you enter, you can feel a calm and sacred atmosphere that immediately connects you to Balinese spirituality and tradition. The temple complex is stunning — surrounded by lush greenery and traditional architecture that reflects Bali’s deep cultural roots. The highlight, of course, is the purification pool with its clear running water sourced from the sacred spring. Visitors can join the locals in the ritual, washing away negative energy and seeking blessings. The experience feels truly special and peaceful, especially when you follow the proper ritual steps with the help of local guides. The staff and guides are friendly and respectful, explaining the meaning behind each step, so you understand the spiritual significance of what you’re doing. You can rent sarongs at the entrance, which are required to enter the temple grounds. Overall, visiting Pura Tirta Empul is not just about sightseeing — it’s about connecting with the Balinese way of life and spirituality. A must-visit for anyone looking to experience the authentic heart of Bali.

A beautiful and culturally rich place to visit. The temple is peaceful, with sacred water pools and colorful koi fish everywhere, which makes the atmosphere very unique. It’s a great opportunity to discover Balinese traditions and spiritual rituals. It can be a bit crowded, but it’s definitely worth experiencing another culture. الحمد لله على نعمة الإسلام ☪️

The Tirta empul temple is really a mistary. We actually didn't know about the temple. After we notice something new in the temple, then I browse the information about the temple and I was very happy to visit this place. There is a mistarious secret behind the water generating 365 days and 24 hrs all the time from the temple primises. They don't allow to drop the coins and stars a notice that dropping is a dangerous. Many people are taking holy bath and doing Pooja. I surprised that there is no entry ticket for this place. A traditional cloth has to wear everyone who wants to enter in to temple. I loved this place and wanted to visit again. After coming out of this temple, there is a big shopping area where some how cheaper than Ubud main center. I strongly recommend to visit this place in Bali.

Pura Tirta Empul (translated as “Holy Spring Temple”) is a Hindu Temple famous for its “Pertitaan”, the pool with the holy spring water where Balinese people perform the “Melukat”, a purification ritual, but also tourists can do it after receiving permission. In the inner courtyard there’s another pool where the water has a beautiful colour and you can see it gushing from the underground. Overall this is one the finest temples in Bali, although very crowded.

A Divine Experience at Pura Tirta Empul: I'm still reeling from my visit to Pura Tirta Empul, one of Bali's most sacred Hindu temples. As I stepped into the temple grounds, I felt a palpable sense of spirituality and connection to the divine. The highlight of my visit was the sacred dip in the natural spring fountains, where I was blessed to experience a profound sense of purification and renewal. The water, believed to be holy and healing, washed away my worries and left me feeling light, refreshed, and rejuvenated. As I immersed myself in the cool waters, I felt a deep sense of connection to the universe and the infinite possibilities within me. The tranquil atmosphere, the chanting of mantras, and the gentle flow of the springs all combined to create an experience that transcended the physical realm. I'm grateful for the opportunity to have experienced this sacred ritual, and I leave Pura Tirta Empul feeling blessed, peaceful, and forever changed. My Rating: 5/5 stars* Would I return? In a heartbeat!

A beautiful temple and a must visit when in Bali. We foudn the experience over commercial and crowded with little information on how to go about the different ceremonies. You will need to buy entry tickets, approx R75k each. Nice photo opportunity and some crazy spiders (be warned for those who are arachnophobia). Good luck.
Bal N — Google review
The sacred water from around 18 falls are considered to be the healing one. Out of 18 one has to take dip of 11+2+1. Others are for worship. There is tour guide who charges IDR 100000 and an entry charge of IDR 75000 for foreigners and IDR 50000 for locals. A sarung (Lower cloth) is needed to enter the temple which is for free and can get at the main entrance door. There is a parking area which does not charge to park your vehicle. If you want to take the dip in the holy water, you need to change the Sarung and rent a blue sarung which is specially for the dip at IDR 10000. A small locker facility is also there which costs IDR 20000. The place is really a divine one and highly recommended to every tourist.
ANUJ V — Google review
One of the most unforgettable moments in Bali was visiting Pura Tirta Empul, the famous temple of holy spring water. Surrounded by mountains and mist, the air here feels different — calm, sacred, and ancient, as if time itself slows down in respect. Locals and travelers alike come here to purify themselves in the crystal-clear spring water that flows through the stone fountains. Each stream represents a prayer — for health, peace, forgiveness, and blessings. Watching people line up to step into the cold water, one by one, reminded me how universal hope and faith can be, no matter where we come from. Sometimes, travel isn’t just about seeing new places, it’s about cleansing your heart in silence and rediscovering a sense of balance within yourself.

This is one of the beaches that make up the near 5km long Sanur Beach and waterfront area. It is located near the Northeast end features a variety of eateries, beach market and sea turtle conservation centre. There are places with lounge chairs and what appears to be good swimming conditions. The main promenade passes by making for easy access to other beaches to the south and west that also make up the entire Sanur Beach.

Amazing beach with a swimming pool and turtle conservation 🐢 The beach is good, I came at day and night At day you can see a sunrise At night you can see a lot of star and even a star constellation However the foods are crazy expensive like a balinese rice for 160k and salad for 90k, but some of them have a pretty normal price like a burger for 15k or ice cream for 7k Overall 7.8/10 👍

Museum Le Mayeur is a charming museum showcasing the artwork of Adrien-Jean Le Mayeur and his collection of Balinese artifacts. The museum is located in Sanur, a beautiful village that has attracted tourists from around the world. Adrien-Jean Le Mayeur, a Belgian painter, arrived in Bali in 1932 and decided to make Sanur his home.
Love this painter, can imagine why he chooses to stay at Bali, the building is beautiful but exhibition need adjustment to protect these paintings

We were intrigued by the museum by the beach and decided to check it out. Entry is 100k per person. On the plus side, the architecture is stunning—both inside and out—and the gardens are beautiful and well-maintained. However, the artwork felt a bit neglected, and the art shop was underwhelming, which was a bit disappointing. Still worth a visit if you appreciate unique architecture and tranquil gardens.
F M — Google review
It's a sweet little place with an interesting history. I wish the artwork could be displayed better but thus us the residence of the artist and not a purpose-built museum. They are trying to renovate it. Garden is pretty too.
Ritu G — Google review
Overall a very nice museum to see some cool paintings from various different mediums, as well as furniture and photographs from the past. There are 2 buildings which house the collection, but it seems that one of them seems to be not finished. A bit more signs to explain the context and the history of the place and better care for the collection should definitely be added for the future. Definitely a nice little detour if you have the time, would take around 15 minutes 👍. Remember to not take any photographs of the collection!
Matildabz ( — Google review
Beautiful little house and garden. The artworks are also very interesting but unfortunately many of the originals are decaying and faded, whilst a number have been replaced by low quality reproductions printed on canvas which have dramatically faded and shifted colour to an almost monochrome blue. It’s sad … Nonetheless there are five or six originals tucked in darker corners where the colors are still vibrant and they are worth seeing

Cost is double advertised price at 100k per person. Artworks are difficult to view as covered by dirty & smeary glass. Beautiful garden, pond etc & the carved woodwork in & around the buildings is magnificent. Interesting little place. Not much information offered & takes maybe 10 or 15 mins.
Lynda F — Google review
This little museum and the painter with his intriguing personal life was really a discovery! It is heartbreaking, though, that his magnificent artwork is not preserved and conserved any better.
Sue E — Google review
(+) I personally love all of Le Mayeur work; some are reproductions, while the original ones are kept in the new building right next to the house. The house itself is beautiful with exquisite carvings. Lovely garden and pond, too. (-) The house, furniture and painting collection needs immediate restoration. Perhaps a collaboration of professionals from Indonesia and. Belgium. I see termites everywhere. The lighting needs adjustment since it reflects on the glasses that protect the paintings, making it hard to enjoy the paintings. Some windows need to be blocked, the direct sunlight is damaging the paintings. They recently increased the entry ticket price. Rp.30.000 for Indonesian nationals/adults and Rp.100.000 for foreigners.

I spent 2 nights in Sanur recently 5/10/25, this place was across the road from our accommodation at Sea View Hotel, l had no idea what it was when paying to cross the wooden bridge for a AU $1.50. It was an interesting walk along a well maintained path through the trees, on the right was the river with loads of mangroves, there were playgrounds for the kids and there was a nice restaurant/Cafe where l had a lovely Mocktail, walking further along we came across some huts and then found 2 Camels and 2 horses tied up on the beach for the tourists to ride, l was surprised that the 2 horses were both stallions! I have had horses most of my life and these animals looked in good condition, a good weight and shiny coats, unlike one review on here that showed pics of very poor and skinny horses and one with a huge tumour on its neck, it looks like they have picked up their act with caring for them. The big disappointment was the amount of garbage on the beach, it was the worst ive ever seen in Bali, perhaps from the recent floods?

Big Garden Corner in Denpasar is a must-visit for nature lovers. The beautifully landscaped sculpture garden features a diverse collection of stone sculptures set amidst lush green grass and vibrant blossoms. Visitors can relax at the on-site restaurant offering traditional Balinese cuisine. Families can enjoy various recreational activities, including a playground and a butterfly garden. This tranquil oasis offers shaded walkways lined with tropical plants, life-size representations of Hindu gods, and Balinese icons like Barong and Rangda.
Stumbled upon this spot while looking to fill the day—and what a surprise it turned out to be! We hired a private driver and spent around 1.5 hours soaking up the charm of this tucked-away treasure. The gardens are lush and dreamy, dotted with interactive sculptures that practically beg for a photo-op: sit inside a bird’s nest, swing in a twiggy heart chair, or brave the hanging nest chair hovering over the water—if you’re feeling bold! Staff were friendly, and the place has a few toilets (always a win). Entry was 150K IDR and included a tasting of honey and three tea/coffee samples. The honey, from tiny Sumatran bees, was tangy and runny—very different from what you’d expect from bumblebee honey. The lady was so kind and even offered us two tastes, which felt really generous. Tea and coffee tastings came in dainty espresso-sized cups. I tried Bali cocoa, coconut coffee, and vanilla coffee—the vanilla was my fave, smooth and fragrant. Extra delights? You can hold a snake or lizard with a donation box nearby (pay what you wish), and there’s a small water park plus a climbable treehouse for the kids. It doesn’t pop up often on the usual tourist trail, but it should. I absolutely recommend it for a gentle adventure with pockets of play and nature.

It is a beautiful and peaceful park to go for a walk through. When we arrived they told us the splash park was closed (wasn’t on the website) We decided to still do it. There are some beautiful statues along the way you can get pics in or next too. There was heaps of mosquitoes we all had patch’s and spray on. We had a large family so took 2 prams, it was extremely hard to push with the rocks would recommend a carrier. Our ticket included honey tasting. We thought it would have been more than 1 tasting/spoon however it wasn’t. Overall was a nice park.

Kids SoHo Playground is a vibrant and exciting play space designed to captivate the imagination of children aged 1-8. The colorful environment features an array of activities, including climbing walls, a ball pit with floating arches, and Bali's first donut slide. Staffed by trained educators, the playground offers a safe and engaging setting for kids to socialize and learn new skills while having fun.
I truly enjoyed my experience with my 16months old daughter. She had so much to play with, the space was as pleasant clean, spacious and so many different activities for children. We could easily spend all day there, the most amazing part is there is a coffee next door, parents can enjoy their time while the children play. The staff are very nice and very helpful. Totally worth it. I recommend.
Cervantes P — Google review
The place is nice, lots of cameras everywhere so parents can watch through the camera tv while sitting. Lots of games so kids don't get bored for 3 hours. There is a cafe for parents to wait. But unfortunately the place is very hot, the hottest is on the top of slide area. When you sit there, you feel like hot air is blowing from your back. There is air conditioning there but it was not turned on. My child after playing for 1 hour looked very sweaty and pale even though I had given him lots of water to drink. And there was one terrible incident there. There was a white boy with yellow shirt, he was carrying a small rubber tire and climbing the stairs, then one of the male employees from far shouted like he was shouting at him, then the employee ran towards him and then roughly grabbed the rubber tire from that kid. That made all the parents shocked. It was very terrible to see that incident. What if that happened to our own child? No one was looking after the child, the parents went somewhere. So don't leave your child alone in this playground without supervision because there is impatient employee in this place. Employee is only patient with parents but not with children. check your camera on December 23, 2024 at around 12-2 pm.

Pantai Segara Ayu is a small and charming beach with white sand and numerous outriggers anchored just off the coast. While it can get crowded, especially compared to other parts of Sanur, it's a favorite spot for many due to its constant beauty. Visitors often come in the morning to catch the sunrise or later in the day for a relaxing time by the beach. A wonderful experience! On one side, there’s a lively and scenic walking, cycling, and jogging path along Bali’s east coast—lined with everything from affordable eats to high-end restaurants and attractions. On the other side, a calm beach stretches out with views of what I believe are Mount Agung and Nusa Penida in the distance. You can rent a bike, go for a jog, enjoy upbeat beachside music, or simply unwind at one of the quieter spots. Absolutely loved this side of Bali!

Such a beautiful spot! I love riding my bike along the beach here it’s super chill and the views are amazing. You can rent a bike easily and it’s really affordable. I sometimes come at night too, and it feels calm and magical in a different way. The only downside is that it can get a bit crowded, especially during the day, so riding through can be a little tricky sometimes. But overall, totally worth it!

It was such a lovely beach where a lot of native people go swim or just soak themselves in the water. the wave is not so big on the shore so it's okay. I heard the sunrise is so great here but unfortunately it was cloudy when I went to see it. you can enjoy the lumpia (a lot of fried things from tempe, tofu, and spring rolls with sweet sauce) on the beach because a lot of women sell it there, the price is only 10K IDR. I asked one of the seller and she said she'd go to the beach around 2PM-10PM. there were a lot of food stalls in the area as well. and there was a concrete long path where you can do jogging or a walk (a lot of locals did this too), and you can also rent a bike here.

Today I saw this beach in different way. I discovered this beach different than before. The beach is beautiful with white sand and gently sea breeze. The surrounding is busy with resort and tourist activities yet locals are still welcome to come and sit on the beach and just pay parking ticket for IDR 2000,-. There are some options for food and drink: restaurants or local stalls. The area is very nice for biking. You can rent it from the hotels or local vendors.

Mola Mola Express Boat - Sanur offers a convenient and affordable fast boat service from Sanur, Bali to Nusa Penida. The crystal-clear waters of Crystal Bay in Nusa Penida are home to rare sea animals and offer excellent visibility for divers. This spot is known for sightings of the Mola Mola, a large buntal fish that can reach up to three meters in diameter.
Mola-Mola is a fastboat service provided by local people to reach to another island named Nusa Penida. The cost is cheap and it will reach you to Nusa Penida within 30-35 min of time. You can catch this fastboat at Sanur, Bali. The last boat to leave for Nusa Penida is at 9 am from sanur. There are other fastboat counters where you can book your ferry. You can actually sit on the top of the fastboat and have fun in this journey of water ride. There are some bumpy waves which will amaze you. The journey is quite fun. It's a three seater both sides downstairs to sit back and enjoy the ride. Only staff and capacity of 10 people can sit upstairs if requested.

On board on 13th August 2024 4pm service. Terrifying over speeding to the point where our safety was compromised let alone comfort. The captain just took over so many other same size boats, his driving license need to inspected. It's a shame as Nusa Penida is a beautiful place.

On time and reliable fast boat provider. If you’re going to Nusa Penida, especially Atuh/Diamond Beach, this company is a good choice. They stop at Sampalan Harbor which is located on the eastern side of Nusa Penida Island. I recommend you to choose Horizon Nusa Penida since they have a very nice and affordable accommodation with a small guitar-shaped swimming pool on the other homestay.

You will get fast service if you order throught travel agent but ofcourse there is additional cost, make sense for idr 450k including for all expenses in the island for walking around with a car, for lunch, mineral water, or tickets if any.

Fast ship, cool staff on board, but be aware you cannot leave/embark with dry feet, you'll need to step into water. too little sitting space for tall people / with long legs
Pavol S — Google review
Decent price, left basically on time, quick embarkation. Boat itself is very basic, not much leg room and a little crusty around the edges but got us from Nusa Penida to Sanur in good time and safely. The captain also slowed down a little to allow for larger waves coming in so although it was a bit uncomfortable during the chop, the captain was being cautious and safe. You will get wet at Sanur as there's no pier so you have to jump into knee to waist height water and wade to the shore, but that's the same for any fast boats!

They get you from A to B which is mainly what matters. But they didn’t leave on time and took quite a while to dock as well. If you aren’t stressed about time they’re great but don’t book with this company if you’re short on time or following a time schedule. They drop you off on the Eastern side of the island, worked well for me as my hostel was close by, but best to research which port you’ll need to dock at before booking. Also just a heads up (all boats travelling to and from Sanur and Nusa Penida are like this) but expect to wade through water to either get on or off the boat. It didn’t bother me but for those that aren’t keen to get wet, be prepared.

Be aware that to board the boat in the Nusa Penida direction you must enter the water. Depending tide it takes from knee level to mid waist. There is a dock in Nusa Penida. Service is very friendly, they will help you in any way possible. If your are injured, they will carry you to shore. They also take care of loading your luggage. Be aware it's crammed on the boat and not much space is available. The boat is also dated. It's approx a one hour ride.
