Playa Sirena is a stunning beach located in Cayo Largo del Sur, Cuba. It features powdery white sand and calm turquoise waters, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and water activities. The beach offers amenities such as chair rentals, tiki-style umbrellas, a ranchon-style bar and restaurant, as well as showers and toilets. With palm trees providing shade along the shore, visitors can enjoy swimming or partake in nautical activities like kayaking and sailing.
One of the best beaches at Cayo Largo. We opted to rent our own car to drive around and visit this place. The beach is amazing. Clear water, white sand and losts of activities to do. There is a bar which was included with our resort. Free kayaks and boats also available. We absolutely enjoyed our visit. Only complaint is the road leading to the beach is horrible. Unpaved and full of holes. When it rains, it gets covered with water and you can't see anything.

One of the best beaches I have ever seen. Turquoise green waters, white flour like sands. Couple bars on site washroom facilities plus a restaurant.
Keven R — Google review
Lovely beach! We anchored up close and personal. Make sure you've cleared customs before setting foot on the beach and no fishing!
Joy S — Google review
I highly recommended this beach. Unbelievably Beautiful
Laura — Google review

Very calm waters and beautiful beaches. Sleeping bear dunes in Michigan now rates second.

A must see if you're on the Caya Largo island. The sand is immaculate and the water very welcoming. Lots of space and opportunity for walks along the beach. Note; beach chairs are 2 pesos each and food is available at the restaurant ($$). Transport to this area can be via taxi or the "train" departing from the hotels. We recommend the train as part of the trip is via boat giving you a better view of parts of the island. Enjoy!!!

Cayo Largo del Sur is a small island known for its pristine white sands and resorts, including the new Sol Club Cayo Largo. Managed by international hotel groups like Spain's Sol Melia, these resorts offer comfortable rooms, personalized service, good restaurants, and well-kept swimming pools. The island is also famous for its coral reefs teeming with colorful sea life and as a nesting ground for hundreds of sea turtles.
Amazing beach! The water was crystal clear and we had a blast with our family.

White powdery sand that stays always cool to the feet and clean, turquoise waters. Beaches are not overcrowded and you can enjoy your holidays in peace and tranquility. I preffered paradiso due to its remoteness. Sirena has better facilities. If you like to be nude on the beach, Paradiso is more naturist friendly. Cubans who work on the island are always friendly and helpful. I recommend taking the catamaran trip to get the most of your stay in Cayo Largo.
Bartek M — Google review
This island is a real gem. I find it perfect for kids, being quiet, clean and safe.
Stephanie A — Google review
Excellent vacation. Service was good, food was plentiful but tended to be repetitive, bar was well stocked but popular beers did run out. Spirits were Cuban and make great cocktails. Pool was clean with plenty of lounge chairs. Beach was accessible via the resort five minutes away. Would recommend.
Uncle J — Google review
Soft icing sugar deep sand. Few people and less as you walk for miles. Simply beautiful. Note this location requires full mobility and has little to no services. Leave nothing but footprints behind!
Denise M — Google review
Miles of breathtaking beaches. Accommodations and staff were amazing.

A MUST visit if you're on the Cayo Largo island. If you thought the resort beaches were nice, you'll be blown away by Sirena.

Amazing beach. Miles of white beach and turquoise water. Cabanas, lounges , umbrella's available. Short walk to Playa Serina beach for food, drinks, and rentals of catamaran.

Consider other travelers’ comments too. Everything is true 1) It is a beautiful place - the beach is the main thing to consider this hotel Coming from an island - this is one of the best seas i have swam 2) Lots of activities - pool activities/ beach activities - great shows by very talented artists 3) The hotel is a bit old and needs maintenance- the shower curtain rod broke everyday and fell on me - will add pics The swipe card for the lock rarely works and i was locked each time outside my room and had to walk to the reception again and again 4) We stayed there for a week and they had the same food every day - minus one or two things / add some things But the food was good - they gave what they had Cuba is a poor country and you CANNOT expect a REAL 4* service 5) Tip - the one thing you that bugged me the most Its as if the staffs require a tip to give you a service you paid for They are not shy about demanding tips They expect you to give them for any service at all - the restaurant / room service/ pool/ bar / tour guides / bus drivers/ reception I was shocked !! They give preferential service to those who tipped them and ignore you Also - they give preferential service to locals - to people who speak Spanish They will take over the line- get food- drinks before you We were unwanted as if 6 ) The tour is nice - we went around the city Once again they tell you abt their difficulties and how much canada is more advanced - everything is canada for them And you just want to enjoy your activity without any complaints 7 ) we arrived late at our reservation at the restaurant. You have to be on time We got late due to one of my nephews getting sick and they forbade us to sit saying they have no food We filed a complaint with customer service and the guy did great He opened a restaurant for us and served us a special dinner on our last day He registered our problems and we were glad that at least he took care of it So make sure you inform the customer service at the hotel of every problem you encounter. They will try their best - so kudos for that Reception will tell you its your job to file any complaint frankly - no person to maintain everything - they dont care Some of the staffs were very kind. Overall we had a 6/10 holiday If you don’t expect you will not be disappointed

We have been to the Memories resort next door and thought we would try this for a comparison. we thought our room it was lovely hot water and pressure were great. We had issues with the buffet ...the food tastes fine but the cleaning of cutlery and dishes was not impressive. There was more than once it looked as though the cutlery had not been replaced and once the staff flipped over a coffee mug to fill it and it had not been cleaned. My husband and I have been to cuba every winter for 7 years and this was the only time were came back with serious intestinal issues... that lasted a week upon return. there us no doubt we both were food poisoned and dispite liking most everything else this was a deal breaker. we will never return.

If you need to get something accomplished regarding an unexpected situation see Annelys. She will go the extra miles. I have rarely seen someone so focused to finds a solution. She follows up, is tenacious and does not quit easily. The entire staff of the resort is outstanding. Lookout for Bikely if you are dinning a la carte, he has an outstanding personality.

i recommend you to visit this onE if you go to sirena because its only 15 minuits walk from sirena but there were less people and more relaxing. we visited there in january so the water was bit too cold for us to stay swimming in for a long time.

(Translated by Google) This is not a normal visiting point on the transportation route that takes you to this beach area, but you can ask to be dropped off there and then you continue the trip on foot. If you are a person in good physical condition and want to see and enjoy virgin beaches, this is ideal. It has no sun loungers, no tents, no points of sale, it is simply a paradisiacal beach totally isolated from everything. Every time I thought that a beach couldn't be better than the previous one, it surprised me with something new. This would be the first point to enjoy and then start walking towards the well-known Playa Paraíso and finally finish at Playa Sirena.

room 0413 may 21-may 28 2025 .. went on my own . room a bit rustic but comfy bed and ac worked very well . plus cleaned daily . food good variety i loved the buffet you can always find something . 2 snack bars one by the sea with a beautiful view and breeze. my only complaint is i would go earlier in april was a bit too hot for me . the beach has been washed away basically but there is a free bus its less then a 10 min ride to honestly one of if not the most spectacular white sand beaches i have ever seen . gorgeous, the water many shades of turquoise. .there are beds, shade and even a restaurant at one of the 2 beaches . quite close together . one better for children not deep and the 2d stop is where there are changing rooms ,wash rooms resto etc..less then 20 people on the beach !and often in the morning i would be alone in one of the two pools . all in all excellent holiday but what makes this hotel are the staff . very helpful from the front desk to the butlers to the staff at the buffet very polite helpful and always service with a smile ..morning cappuccinos are excellent at the bar that is open 24/7.i really enjoyed talking and getting to know some of the staff alex, renaldo, jenry , moray and wife at bar, yuril .. all made me feel very pampered. a wonderful vacation .very reasonable price as well.

Memories Cayo Largo — Review (Aug 27 – Sep 3, 2025) 1. Location & Surroundings The hotel has its own beach with multiple access points. After a recent storm, seaweed was present, but it didn’t spoil the scenery. On-site there is a souvenir shop, and free shuttles run to Playa Sirena and Playa Paraíso. 2. Beach & Sea The island is breathtaking. We preferred Playa Sirena for its calm sea, loungers, and umbrellas. The hotel’s beach was often wavy, which made swimming difficult. Playa Paraíso we skipped due to no shade or loungers. 3. Rooms Rooms are clean and comfortable for the price. Daily housekeeping, working AC, and enough furniture for two. We stayed on the ground floor without sea view, but the sound of the ocean from the balcony was relaxing. 4. Food & Drinks Food variety is sufficient: eggs, seafood, meats, cheese, cold cuts. Highlights were omelettes at breakfast and fresh seafood on the grill at dinner. Dessert lovers will find plenty of sweets. Fruits and vegetables were limited, but this didn’t spoil the experience. The bar staff deserves a separate mention. The bartenders were warm, professional, and incredibly creative. Although we don’t drink alcohol, they took it as a challenge and prepared unique non-alcoholic cocktails for us, which turned out to be absolutely delightful. Their hospitality made us feel like we had truly found a piece of paradise. Huge thanks to the bar team! ♥️ 5. Service & Staff Staff perform at a very high level. Chefs, bartenders, waiters, and housekeeping were excellent. We would also like to highlight the entertainment team. The dancers, hosts, organizers, and of course the DJ, made every evening unforgettable with spectacular shows. The final performance we attended on September 2nd was particularly outstanding — filled with energy, talent, and charisma. You could feel their passion radiating from the stage and lifting the audience. We feel lucky to have experienced it. ❤️‍🔥 6. Facilities & Infrastructure Several pools with swim-up bars (not available at night). Wi-Fi works but not in beachfront rooms — which actually helps to disconnect. After a storm, reconnecting took time. Buggy and electric car rentals allow exploring the island. 7. Atmosphere & Impression Décor is modern and simple, territory is well-kept. Despite families and couples, privacy is easy to find. 8. Value for Money Excellent. Services match the price, expectations exceeded. My personal rating: 5 stars.

My Wife and I have stayed at this resort maybe four or five times, possibly more. My parents have joined us on occasion and they have frequented the resort on their own when we can't join them. This place is a special place for all of us and a very special place in the world. Great people, clean, best beaches in the world. The surrounding waters are a nature reserve and may be one of the last places to experience pure raw natural experience of the Caribbean ocean unadulterated by commercialization and capitalism (I know that we are at a resort). Although it's a very difficult time for the people of Cuba, the staff return doing their best and are genuine in their work always with a smile. It's very much appreciated.
Kris S — Google review
I really enjoyed my vacation at memories. The staff was nice and helpful, created a comfortable environment and resolved all questions in just few minutes. The food was not the best and had same ingredients every day, but you can really tell that they are trying their best and the issue is just limited supply on the island - even though for meat they only had chicken there was always 2-3 different ways it was cooked with different "sauces". Pizza and pasta for dinner was amazing though - no complains there. They cook it for you adding what you like and you get a perfect meal right out the oven/pan. The hotel beach is pretty small but they provide free buses to another beach 3 times a day and that beach is much nicer. The wifi was only availible in the lobby but it was good enough speed to watch videos and make video calls, and it is unlimited, you just need to ask for more than they initially give you. But we came there to swim and chill, not to be on the internet, so maybe it's even good that you have to dedicate time and go there. The bars offer a lot of different cocktails and they all taste really good, try as much as you can (most have alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions). The nature is beautiful - all the trees, bushes and flowers, especially with the sea and authentic thatched roofs create perfect vibes and lots of places to take pictures. Also very safe - no stealing or anything (still good to be cautious but feeling safe makes you feel more relaxed overall).
Kamila — Google review
If you like a nice beach, there's one a 10-15 min taxi or free tram away...Some of the staff were very friendly and helpful. But the food was only ok. The room and much of the resort had a bit of a backed up sewer odour. Entertainment at night was good. But not much in the way of activities at the resort.
Paula J — Google review
I have been to Cuba many times. First time to Cayo largo. The workers are fantastic! Beach is washed away still from the history of recent hurricanes. Beds are very comfortable. Nice small resort. Needs some upgrades. Not great for people with physical disabilities to reach the beach.

Vilo Acuna International Airport, located on the stunning Cayo Largo, serves as a gateway for travelers eager to explore this tropical paradise. With regular flights from Havana and Varadero, reaching this idyllic destination is quite convenient. The airport offers a smooth and efficient experience that many visitors appreciate, often wishing their home airports could match its level of service.
Fast, no messing around, and polite, we wish U.S. airports were more like this. Thanks for everyone to help me surprise my mother several times. Thanks Juan, mi hermano

Crappy airport. The only good thing was that the waiting to the customs was not too long. But you are in bad luck if your flight is delay, it has zero comfort. You need to pay to use the restrooms. Everything is overpriced.
Alexandre P — Google review
I don’t understand how a place like this is allowed? Our arrival was fine and quick but then for leaving they make you arrive at the airport 3 hours ahead of time and this is just wrong considering what’s offered in the airport. There is nowhere to refill a water bottle therefore your only cheapest option is to buy a $5 cad one from the one bar area, and oh make sure you have Cad or US dollars because they refuse to take their own currency here or any credit cards. You also have to pay to use the washroom??! There’s a lady constantly guarding the area demanding you pay
Kassidy V — Google review
I would rate this place 0 if I could. Just got back from there saturday night. Was supposed to be back friday evening but sunwing airplane broke after we were boarded so had to leave the plane and go back to the airport. Our luggage got unloaded together with my stroller which I asked for several times( my 23 month old was sleeping in my arms), but Cuban authority representatives (boarder security officers) tought it was more important to simulate intercourse ( should be disciplined and i will file official complain) in front of the waiting room full of people than bring it to me. Latter they decided it is imperative to let and guard people go out for a smoke , rather than bringing the stroller so that a child can sleep in it. Very disappointed!

Nestled along the stunning shores of Cayo Largo del Sur, Starfish Cayo Largo is a vibrant beachfront hotel that perfectly blends relaxation and adventure. With 307 spacious rooms, this resort caters to both families and couples, featuring adults-only and family-friendly pools. Guests can indulge in culinary delights at five diverse restaurants while enjoying the convenience of a kids club for younger visitors.
Most amazing week at Starfish! The workers are so kind and care so much about every guest. The entertainment crew was awesome, especially Damien and Dorris. They were so much fun and kept us safe every night that we went off the resort as well. The beach was beautiful and the people were so fun. Most days the snack bar had fries and sandwiches. Buffet had pizzas, sandwiches, chicken, fish, pork, pasta bar and more. Endless drinks available (some days didn’t have pop). Overall, it was an amazing resort!
Tristyn M — Google review
This used to be a lovely resort but it has changed the last few years. Access to the beach from the hotel washed away and now if you want a nice beach you have to use their train shuttle that runs 3x a morning and 3x in the late afternoon to take you to another beach location on the island. The most shocking was the pool. The resort did not have chlorine to clean it and we lost access to the pool for 3 days during our one week trip in May 2024. Shame on Sunwing, diamond club and the hotel. I have reached out to all 3, and there has been zero accountability and compensation. This should not happen at an all inclusive that advertises pool access.
Monika W — Google review
The workers and location is good! The beach is beautiful! The food is really really awful! Rooms are not good! They need to be updated! Worn showers! No blanket! No blanket! No snack! Staff do their best for having guests happy! However, they cannot change food quality/shortage! I do not want to try it again!
Somayeh H — Google review
It's no world leading hotel, but they did their best with what they have (or given). For the beach lovers, you'll be disappointed. The beach is non existing and very rough, but the upside is there is a shuttle which takes you to a beautiful beach called Serina. The bad thing is, the last shuttle picks you up at 5 so you'll never see the sunset. Taxis don't operate past this time unless you show some money. Cayo Largo is absolutely stunning - will certainly return but maybe try a smaller hotel. This way the food may be better. I was told with larger hotels, they cant get a lot of supply to feed the large number of people. If they did, people of course would fight over things.. overall it's good, but wouldn't return to starfish.. I survived on bread + cheese for 7 days.
Anita S — Google review
Here you will see a different all inclusive - a rather bring your own napkins, beer, wine, yogurt, milk, bacon, butter, juice, veggies and fruits (hope did not miss much) and desserts (call it a "hit or miss"). The resort is old, but the beach is nice if no waves. I hope you get a better experience if still decide to go.
Iulian C — Google review
The beach is wonderful. We saw beautiful conch and starfish. Workers are very friendly. Daviel and Wilbert helped us arranged the spoon international dinner. Very much appreciated 👍. Big thank you There are other chef working in the cafeteria are very kind. They invited us cook together with them. It is very interesting. I have been visiting Cuba all the places. So far cayo largo is the best. I suggest every one to come, enjoy. I might come back in the future. Made friends here.

Very happy with this resort. Not too big, well kept and friendly helpful staff. Pools are wonderful, 2 saltwater Pools, including one for the kiddies. Also playgrounds and activities for children. Rooms are decent, clean and maid services are very good. Note. They are in the process of renovating the rooms. The beach at hotel is narrow due to past hurricanes but still amazing. Cuba has the most beautiful beaches on the planet.

I know what to expect, and generally happy with the basic things - reasonably clean room, access to a clean drinking water and a food which can sustain me and will not make me sick. I don't eat breakfast, so the "real" not instant coffee served at least in one location for a resort would be a reasonable wish. The coffee beans should not be on a "shortage items list", for a country where it's actually grown. This was my first time on this island, and the deciding factor to choose this hotel was the price based on a single occupancy, and the reviews. I'm generally satisfied with the stay. However, this was a first time when I had to strongly demand to change the room which was given to me upon my arrival. I can look past the broken safe and doors and a cracked mirror, but the room was infested with bugs. The bathroom wall was literally covered in medium size black flies, and the little fruit like flies were everywhere in a main room. The so called butler said that I should go to the reception and ask for another room. She herself, just run out and didn't help in any way, needless to say that I didn't see her again for the duration of my stay. I was very stressed and had to put up a lot of fuss to get another room. My question is for the manager - why this room was even allowed to be assigned to a guest? Do you train your housekeepers to report potential problems?! The 2nd room was quite adequate and didn't have any problems. Why did I need to put up a fight to get it?! The lunch was served at the small place on the beach. There are simply not enough seats to accommodate everyone, people had to line up, the wind was very strong and it was difficult to eat after finally getting a table, the food was cold and constantly run out of any kind of meat or chicken. The dinner was actually okay considering shortages and all. The workers at the resort are nice and try their best to accommodate guests with very little resources they have. The beach is beautiful, and that's what brings me to Cuba. The bottom line, would I recommend this resort? Probably not, especially to anyone who never been to Cuba. Would I go again? Yes, if the price point is right. I wish that the management is more involved and visible on the resort, and talk to the guests in order to improve.

Beach
Playa Blanca Beach is a stunning destination that boasts pristine white sands and mesmerizing turquoise waters, making it a perfect spot for relaxation. While much of the beach is lined with chairs and umbrellas from nearby resorts, there are still untouched areas like Los Cocos Beach and Luna Beach that showcase its natural beauty. Nature enthusiasts will be thrilled to encounter the local wildlife, including iguanas and nesting turtles along the shore.
Truly stunning. The view from the smoking shelter of the nearby Working Mens Club is second to none. The popular Hungarian dish 'Goulash' is not available here, but don't let that deter you.

Was there in January 2019. Big erosion destroyed all the beach.Locals said this beach is seasonal , it comes and goes depending on the season.

(Translated by Google) Best trip. The heat and good weather were there. The Cuban archipelago is magnificent! Visit the surrounding islands on a catamaran. I fed the iguanas directly from my hand. Watch out for small translucent fish in the water. I had a skin reaction severe enough that I had to see a doctor who sold me a cortisone cream, (cheap, we're talking about November 2013) however everything else was great. It was not an island inhabited by workers, they went there for a month, then returned home to the Island of Cuba. (Original) Meilleur voyage.

(Translated by Google) The beach is impossible to get into, too much permanent waves, red flag all the time. For the beautiful photo. There is not much money left either, after 3 pm the water reaches the rocks. (Original) La playa para meterse es imposible, demasiado oleaje permanente, bandera roja todo el tiempo. Para la foto hermosa. Tampoco queda mucha plata, a partir de las 15 hs el agua llega hasta las rocas.
