Great Yarmouth Beach boasts a 15-mile stretch of sandy shoreline and dunes, featuring piers and a variety of boardwalk attractions. Whether you prefer bustling summer hotspots or quieter areas, the beach offers something for everyone. From donkey rides to bouncy castles, there are plenty of activities to enjoy along the Golden Mile.
First time at Great Yarmouth and we loved it! We stay not to far from the beach and main attractions. We got most things covered in the 2 days we were there. Really clean, lots of places to eat from, lots of attractions for the kids. Will definitely be coming again
Ateeqah S — Google review
Large, clean and welcoming beach. Very well looked after and nice and sandy too. Dogs are permitted, but not in all areas which is understandable. Long coastline and has lots of walks available too
Brian — Google review
Lovely clean promenade. Nice walk with a sea view next to a wide sandy beach. Loads of amenities, food and souvenir shops. Not the cheapest though especially kids rides and activities usually £6 to £8 per child and for 15 mins only. Britannia Pier entry free. The arcade is huge and plenty to do. Overall it's a well maintained area, recommended.
Yazz M — Google review
Not been to Yarmouth since I was a kid in single figures... but I remember a sunny packed beach and deckchairs... hundreds of em, shows my age, nobody on it now, plenty of room for bouncy castles though... whatever happened to the deckchair hire? Times change! Beach a mixture of sand pebbles and odd bits of rubbish, sign of the times i suppose. Seafront pretty busy though, plenty of arcades to dispose of your hard earned cash by the kids, not a great deal else to do bar drag em round the shops moaning....
Christopher M — Google review
Fantastic. England is very underrated. The beach is great. The government need to invest more in UK beaches. Loads of places to park
Jaz006 — Google review
Model village and attached cafe were nice enough, beach is fairly featureless and very uninviting walking past a very tall fence surrounding the pleasure park which was closed. Getting there was a chore with lots of traffic and going through the maze of ratty one way streets. Felt like a waste of a day's holiday and won't be going back.
Hamish C — Google review
Great promenade with food, souvenir shops and amusements. Beach a bit pebbly but fine at the top end in the dunes.

Great Yarmouth Beach North is a stunning destination that offers visitors a delightful blend of natural beauty and culinary experiences. This expansive sandy beach, located just north of Britannia Pier, features picturesque grassy dunes and is perfect for leisurely strolls or dog walking throughout the year. The adjacent promenade makes it easily accessible for day-trippers looking to soak up the sun or enjoy a peaceful retreat by the sea.
Another great place to visit whatever the weather. Ok this time of year (191124) you may need to wear a few layers, but a bit of fresh air will do you the world of good.

Outdoor Activities
Gorleston-on-Sea Beach, situated in the southern part of Great Yarmouth, is a picturesque destination known for its expansive sandy shore, beautiful riverbank, and wide harbor. The beach seamlessly transitions into a charming promenade and cliffside gardens. Adventure enthusiasts can indulge in activities like bodyboarding, surfing, and windsurfing near the beach. Gorleston on Sea offers a classic seaside experience with dog-friendly stretches that are cleaner and quieter compared to other nearby beaches.
When we read some reviews it did make us laugh or thought perhaps there was some sarcasm (I’m sure someone said squint and u could be in the Maldives). However I did see their point. What an amazing deep beach with soft sand and vigorous sea. Not to choppy not to calm. Loads of space on the beach. I could t see it ever getting packed or to busy. Parking might be an issue perhaps in high season but it would be worth the struggle. Loads of places to eat and drink. Public toilets, arcades, ice creams etc. we will be going back as the beach alone is well worth the visit.
Ashley W — Google review
Really lovely beach. We visited with 2 little kids and had an amazing time! Easy (free) parking on the street running alongside the coastline, easy walk down to the beach. Miles of sand, a lot of it dry and comfy to sit on, then some sections of pebbles, and as the sea goes out, more lovely sand. The beach was clean, though we did find a few bits of litter to pick up on our way out. We were there on a hot sunny day in late July, and it wasn't overly busy, loads of space to spread out and play. We arrived at 10am, and parked easily, though I suspect we'd have been a street or so further back if arriving around midday or later. No dogs on the beach (it may be that they're allowed outside of summer though?), so its safe for kids to play without fear of stepping in anything, or being knocked down by racing dogs. There's a lifeguard station, watching an area for swimming between flags, a splash pad (opens at 10am, kids loved it!), and a large pond for model boats. Adjacent to the beach, there are public toilets (near the Pier Hotel), and while a little smelly, they were fine for beachside public toilets. Outside these there are also 2 taps for rinsing feet etc. Overlooking the beach there is an arcade, an ice cream parlour (absolutely amazing!!) and a chip shop/cafe (chips were good). We also visited 2 days prior when it was raining, and had lunch in the storm house cafe (food sensibly priced and decent, nothing fancy but an easy place to stop in). The rain stopped, and we wandered the beach, toddler throwing stones at the waves, and playing in the drier sand. We had the beach to ourselves as far as we could see! I really don't think I can praise it enough, we had a great time and will be back! It's much more sedate than somewhere like Yarmouth, so if you're looking to avoid huge crowds and masses of people packed onto the beach, it's a superb place to go.
Kerry C — Google review
Superb beach and surroundings. Loads of stuff to do, from walking, sun bathing or even staying with your little one at the splash zone. Great choice of restaurants and bars to enjoy throughout the area. Loads of parking available at the pier parking. The beach is very sandy, however when getting closer to the water-line it gets a bit rocky and has loads of pebbles and stones. If you are a bit more sensitive when walking on rocky/pebbles, definitely recommend getting some water shoes. Water is quite wavy but at the same time it is lovely. It is a bit cold, even when outside there's 26 degrees for 2 straight days.
Adrian I — Google review
Great beach, miles of sand to walk and play on. Always busy. Walk on the prom plenty of benches to sit on and places to eat and drink. Worth a visit.
Paula B — Google review
Wonderful place to sunbathe, enjoy a refreshing swim as the water doesn't retreat as much compared to other beaches. Really great spot since it's close to many restaurants, pubs, shops, parking, etc. The water is very clean, a bit cold even when temps are above 25 degrees on full sunny days. The overall beach is amazing, it's very sandy, however it is very rocky and has a lot of small stones/ pebbles closer to the water.
Roxana P — Google review
Gorleston-on-Sea is a really beautiful place. The beach is wide, clean, and never feels too crowded. The views are stunning, especially on a sunny day, and the promenade is perfect for walking or sitting with an ice cream. There are lovely cafés and fish and chip shops nearby, and parking is easy. The atmosphere is calm and friendly — perfect for families, couples, or anyone who wants a peaceful seaside day. One of the nicest spots on the Norfolk coast — always worth the visit.
Amciui C — Google review
I heard that this beach is quite quiet compared to the other beaches in Great Yarmouth so we decided to give it a try as we wanted to take our young toddlers to the beach for the first time. Really lovely beach and has a few shops and cafes spotted around, however we were there quite early on a Monday so not sure if more open later on / over the weekend. We also managed to find the Banksy art piece which was a nice surprise! Always wanted to see a Banksy art piece up close! Also there is another art piece that is dedicated to the film ‘Yesterday’ which I saw a few years back and had no idea that the end scene was shot here which was pretty cool to see being a film geek. There’s loads of car park choices and we choose the Pier parking which is £3 for 2 hours and can be sorted using the internet / QR code, so if you’re out and about and want more time you can just extend the time if needs be. Overall great beach if you’re looking for somewhere ‘less hectic’ seaside wise.

Great Yarmouth South Beach offers a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of more crowded beaches in Norfolk. While it may not boast the same level of visual appeal as some other coastal spots, its charm lies in its tranquility. This expansive stretch of golden sand is perfect for those seeking a peaceful day by the sea, with ample space to set up your sun loungers or build sandcastles without feeling cramped.
Golden sand, lovely beach, not too crowded, very clean. Room for sandcastles and for putting up your sunbrolleys and loungers. Great beach.

The sea is blue😍 the beach is massive😍 Their are shops and fairs and doughnut stands, food stands, cafes and so much more newr to explore and amusements too and bowling, definetly somewhere to cisit and dop by if you are in great yarmouth😍 dogs can run along the beach and around the beach too 🐶
Agnetha G — Google review
The south beach is accessible for dogs all year round which is somewhat unique given its proximity to the attractions. Dogs must return to the path and be on a lead from Wellington Pier.
F S — Google review
A bit bleak this time of the year. Pleasure Beach is closed and the only place of interest is Nelson's Column with Information boards around it. If you're looking for a circular walk start around the Premier Inn, walk up to the Power Station, turn Right along Hartman Rd. at the junction turn Right passing the Power Station, at the end of the railings turn Right onto Admiralty Rd, ignore the 1st road on the right (Beevor Rd) at the next road on the right is Nelson's Column. From here you can continue on to the main road, turn left and back to your start point.
Terry T — Google review
A lovley place to have fun and pick shells up a massive beach but I would say if you try to go near the under bit of the pier you could step on glass so I wouldn’t go to that side but the beach is empty so you basically can have it to yourself and we experienced a helicopter landing on the beach highly reccomended

Fabulous spot to relax and unwind on a lovely day. Close to Pleasure Beach which as lots of entertainment and thrilling rides for all ages. The beach is clean with lots of room for visitors in no way do you feel on top of anyone else. The sand has wonderful golden hue making it one of Britain's best beaches.

Aquarium
SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth is a family-friendly attraction located on the famous seafront of Great Yarmouth. It offers a variety of sea creatures, including blacktip reef sharks, African dwarf crocodiles, and clownfish. Visitors can explore the world of jellyfish in the Jelly Invaders display, observe Humboldt penguins, and walk through an ocean tunnel surrounded by a quarter-million liters of seawater.
Visit the sea life centre at least once a year. We absolutely love it. Lots of information points as you walk around about the animals around you. We particularly enjoy the submarine that you can walk into and see animals much closer, including the sting rays and blue lobsters.
Catherine B — Google review
Ignore what it says online as its says to be there for the time you booked but getting there you get a stamp and are told you can come and go as you please! So this is great if you wanna hear all the talks or go in and out and get a coffee. Place needs a damn good clean!!! But other than that still nice to look around! The talks and feedings were great too!
Natasha P — Google review
My son had a lovely time touching the starfish and little waterfall, and loved the sharks. Staff were understanding of his autism and that was much appreciated, cool octopus there too! Going to take him to see the penguins next time. Prices were better too off season, only £16 pp, and a free ticket for a carer if you're on PIP, so saved £16 too. Overall good activity for kids and adults alike, but the gift shop is very expensive! Avoid at all costs if possible haha! Only a stone's throw away from places to get food and drink too, and right on the sea front, bowling alley on the nearby Wellington Pier and arcades also. Very well situated, also close to Pleasure Beach. I'd recommend it to anyone with kids.
Elvira N — Google review
Walk through tunnel was lovely, good for the kids to see the animals well. In the room with yellow submarine, you were about to previously purchase food and feed the fish. There was a crocodile which you don't always see at sealife centres. Option to touch a starfish too. Nice as you could pay a little extra and it got you entry to the Giant Wheel too! Gift shop is very large, took kids a long time to pick something.
Charlotte N — Google review
Not as big as other Sealife Centre s but still plenty to see and do. The café was reasonably priced and the bathroom facilities were very clean. Ample room to change the baby.
Christine C — Google review
Highly recommended to book ticket online since it has discount for blue light card or student etc. The ticket allowed you to go in and out for a day multiple times. Although I must say this aquarium is not as big as others we had been like London, Newquay, Weymouth and Birmingham. Having said that we enjoyed the tunnel watching, penguin, fresh water fish, amphibians and experience on touching star fish.
Serene D — Google review
Our first visit to Great Yarmouth and to the Sea Life Centre been to Blackpool one years ago. This was a different set up bit smaller but nicely set out with Real Penguins talks were imformative and interesting Tanks clean and tidy enjoyable experience cafe clean and plenty of room with clean toilets. Can re-enter after you have left which is a bonus and makes it good value
Paul A — Google review
A great experience for our family, our children (3 y/o & 5 months old) really enjoyed seeing all the animals and creatures. Very informative and a great variety of animals to look for and learn about. A highlight of ours being the underwater ocean tunnel, this was a great feature! Gift shop is stocked really well with plenty of choice and the staff were very helpful and friendly. One of the big downsides is it being small, we were done in an hour and that was us dragging out the visit somewhat.

Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach is a vibrant amusement park located on the Golden Mile by the beach. It covers a vast nine-acre area and offers an array of attractions suitable for all ages. From thrilling roller coasters to traditional rides, there's something for everyone. The park also features Pleasure Beach Gardens catering to younger children, as well as amusement arcades and various dining options.
My new favourite Amusement Park not in Staffordshire or Lancashire! No ride queues and I went on a Saturday in summer! Granted i was with the group which got an extra 2 hours, but still...
Ripsaw P — Google review
Came today. we paid for a card on entry. Easy to use, and you can top up/check balance in lots of places in the park. Most rides are for young kids, nothing too extreme. The wooden roller coaster and monorail were good. Staff seemed friendly, especially the lady at the entrance. Excellent customer service 👍

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had an amazing day at Great Yarmouth Beach – perfect for a fun family outing! The soft sand and lovely sea made it such a relaxing experience. It wasn’t too busy, which was a nice surprise, and the atmosphere was great. We enjoyed some fresh fish and chips by the sea – absolutely delicious and full of flavour! The only downside was the number of seagulls (they really love the chips!), but it didn’t spoil the day. All in all, a fantastic spot for some seaside fun. Highly recommended!
Khaleda — Google review
We visited here on a Wednesday evening, for the late opening hours, in late July and arrived at half five, meaning we could take advantage of the late evening wristband pricing (£17 for 5 until 9:30). There are also fun cards at £5 or £10 which offer 5 or 10 ride credits and can be topped up inside the park. However suspect the latter are a false economy if you have more than 2 or 3 rides - especially in the evening, as most main rides are 4 or 5 credits. There was a fair size of queue to the ticket booth but it moved quickly and probably only took 5 to 10 minutes to get to the entrance. There is a good range of flat rides and four coasters, with all costers being aimed at family-friendly. The wooden roller coaster is the oldest in the UK and has a brake man riding on the train. While not the smoothest or comfiest ride, it is good to ride a bit of history. The remaining three are Family Star, a short spinning wild mouse and two small kiddy coasters. The flat rides are good variety, with spinning and drops and also a gyro swing. What struck us was that the park was relatively quiet for school holiday season and queues were short. The ride throughput would be increased further if the very slow wristband scanning was not performed - not really sure why this is needed as takes a got 10 seconds to read each one, based on our experience. Food offerings are OK - there is a large hot food stall that does hotdogs (not so good), burgers (better) and loaded fries (decent) amongst other offerings. All in all, worth a visit even in peak summer as really never felt busy and plenty of ride opportunities.
Ian A — Google review
Went as a family. You can get 5 credits to get in and use on one ride if going with a group of kids. The food hall and bar are great. The rides make it more like a smaller fair rather than a pleasure beach like Blackpool but still great.
Gary A — Google review
A Fantastic Day Out at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach! We had an amazing time at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach! There’s a perfect mix of classic rides, family-friendly attractions, and thrill-seeking roller coasters. The historic wooden roller coaster is an absolute must-try – a true blast from the past! The park was clean, well-organised, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout the day. Entry with the wristband is great value for money, especially if you’re planning to go on lots of rides. It’s also right by the beach, so we could enjoy the rides and then relax with some fish and chips on the seafront. Plenty of food options, clean toilets, and seating areas made it comfortable for families. Whether you’re visiting with kids, friends, or as a couple, it’s a great spot for some good old-fashioned fun. Highly recommend – we’ll definitely be back next summer!
A J — Google review
I couldn't really find anything to fault here yesterday with three bored kids. Despite it being a Peak Season Sunday all the queues were very short, just a couple of minutes. A little longer for the big coaster but even that was less than ten minutes. Every ride looked to be well staffed, no litter in sight. The guy manning the Dodgems literally couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, he gave the impression he genuinely wanted to be there. Over the course of the day my lads went on about thirty(!) rides each, so they got superb value from their 'all rides' wristbands. The only thing I could ask was for some concessions for Blue Light card holders, other than that, an easy five stars!

Nestled along the picturesque South Beach Parade in Great Yarmouth, Merrivale Model Village is a delightful destination that promises to enchant visitors of all ages. This charming attraction features an intricately designed model village complete with a stunning garden railway, whimsical penny arcade, and engaging mini-golf course.
Absolutely loved visiting this place while we were on holiday - we brought tickets and was able to go again for free withing the week of purchase. Friendly staff, even have a little miniature golf course. My little boy absolutely loved watching the fish in the pond. Would definitely reccomend if this is something youre interested in.

The Time and Tide Museum of Great Yarmouth Life is a captivating maritime museum located in a converted Victorian warehouse that was once used for herring curing. The museum offers an immersive journey through the history of Great Yarmouth, from its Ice Age origins to its development as a popular seaside resort. Visitors can explore reconstructed Victorian row houses, experience life on board a drifter, and step into a 1950s fish wharf scene.
Brilliant museum and well worth a visit. Perfect for a chilly day on the coast. We spent good few hours here learning the history of the local area and the building itself. There was also a fab exhibition on Automata that my son loved.

A real gem in Great Yarmouth. It's much larger that it appears and the museum has great exhibits on the rich history of the town like the fishing industry, the gone rows or the seaside holiday destination it was for decades

What a Fantastic Place to explore cheap entrance fee and very very imformative plenty of artifacts to see and a lot of imformation at hand to read and find out about the time>Theres even a smokey smell as you go round reminding you of smoking haddock.Time moves forward as you go around untill you arrive at the 60s and 70s part which brings back so many memories of my childhood absolutley worh a visit and could easily spend 2-3 hours here.Finished off with a drink and snack in the tea room very nice.

Outstanding museum. Excellent exhibits ranging from Anglo Saxon England to the present day. Lots to see and could easily spend many hours here. The sound on one of the videos downstairs seemed to be broken, but this didn’t detract from the overall experience. Highly recommended.

Britannia Pier is a lively and bustling Victorian pier located at the top of Great Yarmouth seafront. It offers a variety of family attractions, including the Britannia Pier Theatre which hosts a range of shows and celebrities throughout the summer season. At the end of the pier, visitors can enjoy fairground rides operated on a token system, as well as bars and amusement arcades.
Lovely pier, free to enter. Lots on offer covering everything with food, entertainment and activities. Nice and clean and well kept. All staff encountered were extremely friendly and helpful. Proper British pier

Not a bad place, kiddies rides expensive and staff were sparce, but had a decent couple hours, staff were friendly and apologised for us waiting, but wasn't their fault. Worth a visit.

This amusement arcade is huge and has a lot of new machine and old machines there is a downstairs in this arcade and a food place to get food and drinks at the entrance, there is a small ride area at the back of the pier which has a small kids roller coast and dodgems if you love your coin pushers and grab machines this is a good arcade to visit if you are in Great Yarmouth

Took a little stroll through and it looks like a bit of fun. Plus the beach and the beach views are really beautiful.

Really nice Pier with plenty to do. Has a theatre with great shows, funfair at the end of the Pier. Fun pub that is open seasonal. I didn't get to go in here but looked good. There is also a very large Amusement arcade. All staff in there seemed friendly. The view from the Pier was very nice, being able to overlook the sea in one direction and all of the hotels and attractions in another. There is a video from our visit on our youtube channel.

Absolutely beautiful and plenty to do and keep the kids entertained! Just a short walk away from the town where there are ample shops to fulfill any rock requirements. Lots of nice (and reasonably priced) places to eat. Parking close by which was very reasonably priced too (North drive car park £10 for the whole day) Was perfect for a short getaway for me and my family. Highly recommended.

Haven Seashore Holiday Park is a fantastic destination for families looking for a fun and convenient holiday. The park offers various dining options, including a mini market, fish and chip shop, Papa Johns pizza takeaway, Berties ice-cream parlor, and The Garden House serving delicious meals. In the evenings, guests can enjoy entertainment and drinks at the Marina bar. Direct access to a beautiful sandy beach allows for easy enjoyment of the coast.
We just came back from a 5 day stay. The caravan was definitely well cleaned when we arrived. Lots of activities for parents and all age children to enjoy! Close to the beach and town. Quite a few amenities on the grounds and the staff was very friendly and helpful. There were a few things that we were surprised to find. There were no towel rails inside for showering towels, nor were there any hooks for clothing in bathrooms or on bedroom doors, except for 4 that hung in the hall for coats. We used them for other things, since it wasn’t cool there. But not enough to provide for 4 people. The ‘drying’ racks were small and narrow so unless it was hot and dry, there was no place to hang wet bathing suits or towels to dry. I did notice that there was only 1 large frying pan and no spatula to turn burgers or eggs over. Also the trim around the edge of the TV was coming unglued and kept getting caught in the drapes. If we go there again, I’ll be sure to bring essential utensils and a substantial drying rack.

We just got back yesterday and we had the best holiday. The site and our caravan were clean, all staff were friendly. My daughter was very scared doing one activity and Chris was really good with her, he made her feel comfortable and made her laugh in the end she loved and didn't want to come off. Also Chris is a very good teacher, I'm now good at shoot and archery. His very good with the children and just makes it fun. The entertainment was good and fun for all ages. The food was nice and quick.our caravan was next to the walk to the beach, when we was on the beach we had the chance to see a seal which made my daughters day. All activities are worth the money and the pool was fun again for all ages, the only we wished is that we had more then 14 slots. We loved so much we booked to go there again next year. I highly recommend coming here.

Very big and busy place. Felt a bit overcrowded in evenings. If you not coming early enough, will not get a space to sit down. Every night was stuff performance, which was okay (dancing and singing), but after couple nights would nice to have a change. Caravan was nice and clean. Unfortunately swimming pool was shut all our stay and they notify us about that very last minute. Nice location. I would say a bit overpriced.
Miss B — Google review
Great site for a family holiday. Very expensive but we all had a great time. Check in was nice and easy, they knew who I was as I pulled up to the barrier as they had my number plate on record. Entertainment was good although my children found the music far too loud and it made conversation difficult. There was a bus and a land train that stopped right outside the site so getting to the town centre was easy. The beach was easily accessible and was convenient to have right on our doorstep. Lovely site overall with great facilities and would be happy to come back again.
James H — Google review
Myself and my young family have been coming to this Haven for around 6-7 years, we always have an amazing time and the children love it, the entertainment is brilliant, caravans are lovely and the swimming pool & activities are always engaging and enjoyable. This last holiday hasn’t been the same though, although the caravan is nice, the oven is pretty much unusable, you can’t read the dials and it gets so hot you can’t open either doors. There is only 1 tray to cook with and no oven gloves. To the parks credit after we took this up with them, they sent over 2 more oven trays, but seemed pretty dismissive when we mentioned about the oven getting so hot. Our children didn’t burn themselves on it, but someone else’s will. I had to use bath towels to operate the oven. This isn’t on. During the evening entertainment this evening, my little girl stood in some human poo in the main marina bar!! We are 99% sure which child did this and who the parents are, but after we cleaned my poor little girl up in the toilets the parents and child had gone, we saw them laughing at the table after we could smell the poo but didn’t put 2 and 2 together until after we clean my daughter up. Her shoes have been put in the bin and she has no shoes for the rest of the holiday. We spoke to security and let them know what happened, but the poo was up all the chairs, on the vending machine and all in the carpet. It’s absolutely disgusting!!! We will come back after this trip? I’m not sure we will What a shame.
Adam H — Google review
Caravan clean, well equipped and large enough. Facilities at seashore are great, nice restaurant albeit prices have gone up and £1 kids food no longer available Friday or Saturday. Great swimming pool with fun slides
Tim D — Google review
I visited the park having been to many caravan holiday parks in the UK. I can honestly say this was one of the cleanest, most well kept parks I have had the pleasure of visiting. The staff were all very friendly and helpful from the entertainments team to the sales teams. Personally I would be more than happy to book a holiday at this park knowing the service I received on visiting just for the one day.

The Hippodrome Circus, located in Great Yarmouth, is a historic venue that has been hosting a variety of entertainment since it was built in 1903. This purpose-built circus building offers classical and pop concerts as well as water spectacles within its unusual circus ring. Owned by former pop musician Peter Jay, the venue hosts the Great Yarmouth Summer Spectacular featuring high-class performers.
Brilliant time at the summer spectacular. All the acts are so talented, it's just wonderful to watch. We went for ringside seats and my daughter is still buzzing from being included in one bit of banter. If you're thinking about going, do it! Really good value.

Enjoyed the Pirate Show a couple of years ago, so went back to the Spooktacular. Brilliant. Cleverly written and performed. Acts were easy to watch and the usual Jack and Jonny double-act pitched perfectly, with plenty to amuse kids and adults. Accessable, welcoming, great value, fun, atmospheric, unique, and entertaining way to spend a couple of hours.

So fortunate to have this beautiful place right on my doorstep! Photos are from Summer Spectacular and Spooktaular, I love how they have decorated with the globe string lights around the circus! Very reasonable prices (£20 from top ring seats which works out £10 per interval) Love the hippodrome pool! (Yet to visit a Christmas event, as Johnny Mac returns to Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 to visit his family) Love that it’s a family run business and the Jay family have done a fantastic job over these years (1981) The hippodrome was built in 1903 and is definitely a bucket list if visiting Great Yarmouth/ England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Look forward to returning!

Theme park
Joyland is a long-standing family-owned amusement park located in the vibrant seaside town of Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. Established in 1949, this free-entry attraction offers an array of thrilling rides for children, including the famous Tyrolean Tub Twist and Snails ride. The park features a Toy Town Mountain with attractions like the Spook Express Kiddie Coaster and Neptunes Kingdom Undersea Fantasy Ride. Visitors can also enjoy a traditional American diner for refreshments.
Small theme park for young children. The rides are very well kept considering their age. It's like stepping back in time but in a good way. I have childhood memories of going on the same rides that my daughter has now had a ride on including the snails.
Kev L — Google review
Been coming here for 40 years, still love it. Snails are still a highlight. It's so small and tightly packed that it's a bit claustrophobic though. Very hard with a wheelchair to get around without bashing into everyone else. That being said, still amazing for the kids.
Steven W — Google review
Really liked Joyland, its not huge but just right for the older kids that can get on by themselves. I do like the token system and like how they give you stickers with your number on it to access your pictures at the end. The time we went wasn't soo busy so was pleasant. Little cramped but otherwise really good, would go again!
Ateeqah S — Google review
Brilliant we all had such fun on the 18 hole pirate crazy golf. It also has facts about pirates on the way round
Stu M — Google review
We visited on a quiet day and most rides were open. We wanted to see the famous Snails Ride for which Joyland is known for and we was not disappointed. There it was stood in glamour, opened in 1949 and still there to it's day. Joyland is a young children's Amusements park with rides just for them. You pay via tokens and entrance is free. You can find a video of our visit on our youtube channel.
New T — Google review
we visited last week, i DID NOT feel the joy guys, We rode the snails, very excited for this, The man operating it was extremely rude. I asked if there was a specific place my daughter should sit & his response was, I don’t know i just work here…snatched the tokens and looked away. Leaving me to scramble into the snail and just figure it out. The vibe was completely off & we left. If you are going to call yourself joyful at least make sure your staff are joyful & care about safety.
- — Google review
Very expensive for what's on offer. Cheaper to go to the pleasure beach for better rides. The rides are old and very short. Seems to be a place of nostalgia. Not worth the money. My 5 year old did enjoy the snails and the tub twister.

Caister-On-Sea Beach offers a mix of positive and negative aspects. On the downside, parking is cash-only without the option to pay by card, and the toilets were closed during a visit. However, the beach itself is described as wonderful and quiet, especially during off-peak hours. It's popular with local dog walkers and provides fantastic views of Scroby Sands wind farm.
Lovely beach, away from hustle and bustle! Enjoyed a sunny day, plenty of paddles, stone throwing and picking. Toilets about a 5 minute walk from the beach, just to the side of the nearest car park.

A quiet beach popular with local dog walkers with fantastic views of Scroby Sands wind farm. Best visited early in the morning at sunrise with the sun illuminating the wind farm and the sea. The beach as a mix of foliage, sand, and shingles. It's fairly clear of any little but does have some dilapidated wave breakers that have sharp rusted metal to be cautious of.
Bo R — Google review
Lovely beach, lots sand dunes to negotiate. Very stoney at the waters edge. Not sure of water quality but lots people in the water. Dogs are allowed on the beach, saw no sign of dog poo so people must be picking it up and taking away.

Lovely quiet and dog friendly beach, its quite stoney and on a slant in places so not the easiest to walk on. The water is quite deep close to the shore so my dog enjoys a swim but isn't miles out. Only downside here is the palm oil warnings around which is quite scary for taking dogs there!

I love this sort of a park. Those twists water ways and the sundial. A lot of seating space too. It goes a lot north, like it's big. Haven Wild Duck Holiday Park is a delightful woodland retreat that promises an unforgettable family getaway. Nestled just a stone's throw from the scenic Norfolk Broads and the vibrant Great Yarmouth, this park is perfect for families seeking both relaxation and adventure. Kids will be thrilled with a plethora of activities designed to keep them engaged, from swimming lessons in the inviting indoor pool to cycling sessions tailored for little ones aged 2 and up. The outdoor playground and forest trails offer endless opportunities for exploration.
Great holiday here. We had a silver caravan and found it was spacious with decent amount of storage. Caravan itself was clean and felt homely. The park is great with some good parks, pool was clean and well run. We did the sand art class and my 4 year old had a great time. Had a couple of issues with the caravan, but once reported they were fixed same day. We used the park as a base to explore different areas in Norfolk and it was good for that.

Fantastic site beautiful, only issue we had was lack of air conditioning in club house made us didn't want to stay. We would of loved to spend more money and time over there but it was to uncomfortable. Park and facilities excellent. Loved the out door pool. And no trouble nice site.
Dan — Google review
Excellent visit. Had a really nice caravan/static home whatever they’re called. Nice and spacious, balcony, en-suite etc. Activities are good for kids, plenty of entertainment. Bingo for the adults is very good, decent selection of food on site and you can order in too. Some of the drinks and food can be a bit pricey, so bare that in mind before you go. Bottle of doom bar is almost £7 and I can’t work out if that’s massively overpriced or if it’s just the going rate these days. 11 piece chicken selection from the chip shop is about £14 I think & that’s got about £3.50 worth of chicken in it. The on-site restaurant offers far more value and the food is much better. Go there, the staff are really friendly too. Disappointed with the amusements, it’s mostly card only & you collect tickets on that card too. You use the card to collect change for the 2p and 10p machines, but they’re almost the only machines accepting cash. If you can win tickets, you need to win a huge amount for some fairly average prizes. My son got some headphones for 1400 tickets, same headphones cost about £10-£12 on amazon I think. Still though, really nice place, surrounded by nice scenery and nature trails. Would recommend.

The first thing we noticed about wild duck was it was extremely clean throughout the park even at busier times it was amazing. Brilliant location the silver caravan was lovely had everything you could need. So many great activities for the kids we did alot of the activities with ranger Mike so bug hunting, den building ect he was really good knows his stuff and great with the kids. We had taylor and ally for dinosaur fossil dig both great with the kids. All the boys at the swimming pool were very professional never took there eyes off the pool which as a parent made us very relaxed knowing this even when they were changing over. One boy did really stand out at swimming was Stanley he was very observant of everything and constantly keeping the pool area clean. Romeo in the hire area was always very kind and friendly. The only thing that was a let down was the arcade you have to put money onto one of there cards to play the games which is very expensive (even more so than normal arcades) the tickets are meant to go straight onto your card. After a couple of days using this we went to check how many tickets we had and none had been put on very frustrating when we had spent so much so we left the arcade the rest of the week. The restaurant and food was nice but for the price you would expect more food. They offer the same menue in the grayling in yarmouth same price double the food so it was worth going there instead. Overall all the staff were amazing and did a brilliant job and the site was brilliant will definitely be back we just won't use the arcade and maybe travel out for food.
Rebecca B — Google review
Lovely clean park, reception and restaurant staff were very friendly. Caravan was spotlessly cleaned by Mandy . Had an issue with a member of security staff regrading an issue which I felt could have been dealt with better . Which put a bit of a damper on the holiday as a whole. Unfortunately didn’t get the security’s name . Food in the restaurant was a bit hit and miss quality wise . Location of the park is beautiful, but not much to do in the local area that’s dog friendly.
Chloe P — Google review
We have just returned home from Wild Duck Haven. We had booked a silver caravan ( dog friendly) whilst we didn’t expect it to be spotless due to it being dog friendly it wasn’t clean and there were ants everywhere. You couldn’t leave a drink of the side or food out, they were crawling everywhere, on the floor, on the sides etc. the decking hadn’t been cleaned and there were marks on the ‘fresh’ sheets. Staff were really friendly and accommodating with my autistic son who is pre verbal and sense no danger, he went on the inflatables in the pool which we had booked prior to going, I explained to staff about his needs and they all understood and accommodated him which was lovely. We only visited the club house in the evening once, it was very overpriced and extremely hot. The outdoor pool was amazing and the system seemed to work really well. The exterior is lovely it reminded me of centre parcs, they had 2 big parks for children that we found. We have been to a few havens over the years and this isn’t as great as some of the others, we had a good time but we likely won’t be back
Casey R — Google review
The site was quiet, clean, and compact. It was out of season, so wasn't mad busy, but all staff were kind, helpful, and considerate. The nature walk was a god send to help the little one fall asleep in her pram, although it was hard to spot how to get there, once found, it made for a nice walk. I would recommend for new families with young children.
Daniel R — Google review
Reposting, having deleted my original post as it incorrectly suggested we arranged our holiday privately, which we didn't. We booked direct from Haven, who replied to the original post based on this incorrect information. It's probably important to start by saying I am a holiday snob, so probably have higher than usual expectations on standards. We booked our holiday direct with Haven and were allocated one of the privately owned caravans at the edge of the site. The caravan was spacious and big enough to accommodate our family (2 adults 3 children aged 4, 2 and 1) and had a nice scenic view or the woodland. However I was very disappinted on arrival. As we arrived we were greeted with rubbish on the veranda going around the caravan which we had to tidy up. The windows covered in bird poo, which seemed to have been there a while (again I had to clean it off). As we entered the caravan we were greeted with a strong smell of bleach suggesting a thoughroughly cleaned van. The shower/toilets were very clean as expected from the smell. However the floor was covered in crumbs suggesting no hoovering. We cleaned up what we could. I then put my 1 year old daughter down to play and noticed not just crumbs but garlic bread pieces and rice under the sofa. We opened a draw to find crumbs that had clearly just been swept into it. I was disgusted at this point. When setting up the travel cot in one of the bedrooms I had to move one of the beds, to discover further filth under the bed. We called and asked for a cleaner, who in fairness came out quickly and was very polite and friendly. Fast forward 24 hours when we first used the oven, to discover a smell. When we opened the oven we discoverd food on a baking tray, left by the previous occupant. Then turning on the tv to find the last chanel watched was Adult Station, which made me concerned what the stains on the sofa were. The double bed was very uncomfortable. The mattress was pure foam which sunk when sat on, like a water bed would. When laying we sunk into it and coild feel the frame of the bed which was very uncomfortable. On our 1st full day we went swimming and I found this disappointing. The water was cold. We had to get out early due to my sons lips turning blue in the water. The changing rooms were basic and didn't seem clean and there are minimal lockers. It was odd you had to take shoes off and leave at reception (or next too). We put ours in our bag but did create a hold up when trying to leave and get our shoes back on in such a tight area On the flip side, the arcade and kids entertainment was good and thoroughly enjoyed. There was a nice park which the kids also liked. The park was a 10 mins drive into Great Yarmouth which had plenty for the kids to do. Unfortunately though due to the cleanliness issues I am unlikely to return here, and would probably not consider other Haven sites either.

If you're looking for a nice beach to spend a day in, Hemsby is definitely worth checking out. The sand there is very clean and the views of the coastline are absolutely stunning. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby if you need to refuel, and it's also great for dogs - they can go anywhere on the beach!
We made a beeline for this end of the beach as we'd bought our own picnic and just wanted to sit and watch the waves. This is perfect, quite natural and if we'd had more time, we'd have walked even further. A perfect sunny October day and we enjoyed ourselves.

North Denes Beach, located near Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, is a peaceful and relatively secluded stretch of coastline. Unlike the bustling atmosphere of Great Yarmouth Beach, North Denes offers a more relaxed and natural environment. Visitors can enjoy long walks along the sandy shore, with sweeping views of the North Sea. The beach is known for its dunes and wildlife, including various bird species, making it an excellent spot for nature lovers and birdwatchers. It's a great choice for those seeking a tranquil escape from busier beaches, providing a calm setting ideal for picnics, dog walks, and a bit of peace and quiet. However, the beach has limited facilities and is not as developed as other nearby beaches. While this adds to its charm, it might not be the best option for visitors seeking amenities like cafés, shops, or other attractions that are close. Overall, North Denes Beach is a fantastic choice for those who appreciate a quiet, natural beach experience.
Ali J — Google review
Great beach for walking your dog all year around. Some great little cafes near the beach to enjoy a coffee and a snack. The main beach is full of character with sand dunes and great views of the Great Yarmouth sea front.
James R — Google review
I absolutely love it here. Beach is nice and the water is perfect for a heat wave to cool down
Annika — Google review
Lovely couple of hours at the beach. Socially distance was observed. Few people swimming in the sea. Should do it more often.
Jackie F — Google review
Good beach and a lovely walk along with the dog. You will often see some great wildlife grey seals are a common site as are Kestrels and various seabirds. Not many amenities on the beach but there is a snack bar not too far away.
Ange B — Google review
Lovely beach with pretty chill aura. Would recommend a visit when you're in town.
Rosie R — Google review
Great for walking the kids or the dog. Not too much in the way of attractions until you get to the pier but suppose if you don't want to spend any money that's ok. Free roadside parking is a bonus but whereas the area as a whole is really well maintained, it's sad to see some of the more historic facilities being left derelict to ruin.

General practitioner
The Beaches Medical Centre - Sussex Rd surgery has been a reliable healthcare provider for many years. The staff is known for their efficiency, professionalism, and politeness. Patients appreciate the thoroughness of the doctors, such as Warren who was commended for his diligence in diagnosing a serious infection and ordering necessary tests. However, there have been concerns about waiting times for certain procedures like blood tests.
Last Friday I called the surgery at 8am got an appointment for 3.30pm. Went for my appointment I saw 2 amazing ladies for my problem. They spoke to me about everything I was examined where they apologised for the discomfort I might have and just were so kind and caring. They offered me options and after 25 minutes feeling happy with the outcome I thanked them and left. Within an hour I had a phone call to go for a blood test on Monday. I cannot thank the beeches and these wonderful ladies for their kindness and efficiency.
Pauline C — Google review
Moved to this area and Practice in June this year, arriving with a Complex Medical History ongoing. Cannot get a face to face with a GP, although having severe disabilities and dangerous side effects with meds. Fobbed off again and again, left in a complete mess , not listened too and had rude responses. This has served to make my miserable conditions worse than they were or need to be. This Practice group are unprofessional and have shown they disregard their Duty of Care towards my illnesses. GO ELSEWHERE!!! Having lived all over the UK and having had Chronic illness for over 30 yrs, this is the worst practice I have EVER experienced. They either don't care about Patients or are completely ignorant and incompetant. The "Final Straw" today has left me mentally and physically distressed.
Andrew B — Google review
Not a good experience, for someone who rarely goes to the doctors because I don't like to waste people's time this is exactly how dr Temi made me feel, I'm sure in her opinion a blood test was a waste of time and money but in my eyes I had been advised to get a yearly check on my H R T and that is all I was asking for, terrible bedside manor verging on bullying. As she said maybe I should see the dr/health professional I saw previously rather than her next time.
Bridgette W — Google review
A big thank you to the nursing dept. You ladies that have cared for me and redressed my wound over the last 10 weeks. You are a truly wonderful team. Thank you Glyn

Shame on you 4 days I was calling for an appointment, book in advance for Christmas sake, I have a chest infection for 4 days going without proper treatment, what's the point in paying for national insurance to not get any use out of it
MONSTEROUS S — Google review
Contacted the surgery today regarding a very severe rash spreding up from my legs. Call lasted less than 30 seconds. All they said no appointments available today. No other help, just rang off.A terrible experience. This surgery is claiming money to treat patients. From my view they have failed. Now got to resort to calling 111. A terrible service to patients. They drawing loads of NHS funds, but provide an appalling service to patients.

Hopton Beach is a picturesque stretch of sand located near the Haven Hopton holiday park in Norfolk. It offers direct access to guests staying at the park and is known for its dog-friendly environment with no restrictions. The beach features a mix of sandy areas and pebbles, and is protected by rock groynes. At high tide, space may be limited, but there's plenty of room to relax during low tide.
Lovely little beach, perfect for familys and quite away from busy tourist. There are a few steps to get down and a steep hill so not ideal for wheelchair users. No lifeguard.

This part of the beach is not accessible at high water and there are large sea defence rocks which may make access hazardous at low water . Access at other areas may be better.

Brilliant and peaceful beach on a wonderful Norfolk coast and next to Haven where we stayed it's a laid out sandy beach with a few pebbles and is protected by rock groynes not much room at high tide but plenty at low the coastal path is amazing you get so much scenery from the cliffs and see for miles out to the North sea and Yarmouth wind farm I visited this beach twice while I was here on Monday and last Friday and had a long paddle in the sea and chilled on the beach and walked along the coast the sun was shining every day

Lovely little beach, currently their is work going on moving the boulder to protect the cliff edge but their a couple of spots to have fun with the family during low tide. Be careful not to get caught during high tide as the water comes in quickly and we found a few people having to climb in the evenings.

So our first family visit to great Yarmouth we came across South Beach coffee house, well the atmosphere alone was wonderful especially the polite and friendly staff "rare these days" then there's the amazing coffees, hot chocolates and the food was well presented and tasted great., The cleanliness was A1 in fact the whole experience was great. I don't often review but as myself and family had a lot to rave about South Beach coffee house I was compelled to give it the 5* review it deserves. Well done guys keep doing what your doing

Wish I could give more than 5 stars! This place I stumbled across is amazing, so clean and fresh! Coffee is the best I have had, yummy cakes and ice-cream. The gentleman who runs this coffee house was so attentive and accomodating especially with my autistic son. Nothing was too much trouble, he even entertained my son which really settled my son. We will definitely be coming back.

My family & myself went into Lou’s chip shop after going to the pleasure beach. It started raining & the lovely lady in Lou’s said go next door into the South Beach Coffee Shop we have a understanding customers are welcome to eat in the coffee shop, so we all went next door & was welcomed by a lovely man who made sure we was comfortable. The atmosphere in South Beach Coffee Shop was very relaxed with screens showing music videos, we ate our chips & didn’t want too leave so we all had a coffee & some cake & the children had hot chocolate & ice cream. Absolutely amazing coffee and cake our children wanted seconds. They have wheelchair & pushchair ramps for easy access. We cannot say a bad word about SOUTH BEACH COFFEE SHOP opposite Pleasure Beach at Great Yarmouth 5 Star & A++++ THANK YOU

The children then wanted ice creams & in South Beach Coffee Shop they had ice lollies & scoop ice creams with a variety of flavours. Great Value and very satisfied children. We will be back 100%

Beach
South Beach in Gorleston-on-Sea is a popular destination with locals and visitors alike, offering a wide expanse of sandy shoreline perfect for family activities like building sandcastles and flying kites. The beach also features a yachting pond, paddling pool, and esplanade below grassy cliffs. It's an ideal spot for water sports enthusiasts, including windsurfing, surfing, and bodyboarding. Dog owners can enjoy designated areas where their pets can roam freely.
To note, no dogs between 1st May - 30th September. Outside of these months dogs can run free off the lead. The beach is gorgeous golden sand. There are toilets on the beach too which are free. There is an old pier. There are steps up to the top, but also a slope for buggies. The beach itself when the tide is out is very wide. There are plenty of parking places nearby, including Royal Green Car Park. One of the nicer beaches in the uk definitely!!

Even on a wet day in the middle of winter, this beach was really nice. Beautiful views and appears well looked after. Found it much more enjoyable just to walk around as it's not saturated with amusements like some of the other nearby spots. Parked in town, about a 5 minute walk to the beach.

Brilliant wide sandy beach on a beautiful Suffolk coastline and has loads of beach huts on the seafront toilets are nearby and also a short walk from Claremont and South pier it was high tide when we visited today the sea was quite moderate too but easy getting down for a nice long paddle and the weather stayed dry it was also nice and quiet on the beach too and plenty of room to sit and watch the world go by

Visited this beach to see the 'Giant Walking Men' very impressed both with the 8ft sculptures and the beach itself. Very clean sandy beach. Good car park close by.
J H — Google review
What a lovely beach. So clean, well designed, and very safe. I loved walking along the promenade as there were separate lanes for cyclists and for people walking. Plenty of bins for people to get rid of rubbish. The beach itself is great, you can either go on one side which is more pebbly or the other side is sandier. Either way it is well looked after and the lifeguards are visible, often out in the sea doing patrols. They use the flag system to let you know where it's safer to swim which is good. Plenty of places to eat and drink all the way along the seafront and fairly priced. Loads of parking nearby, some pay at the meter (or using Ringgo) and some free spots if you're willing to venture further. Atmosphere at the beach was very relaxed and there were lots of people having fun, as they should. It's definitely a well respected and looked after beach. Only thing I felt was missing was that you couldn't go along the pier otherwise it was a thoroughly enjoyable trip.

Beautiful beach, might just be my new favourite! Quite butbwith a few retardants and puns as well as beachy shops. Beautiful clean sea amd a lovely walk up along the beach leading into the town. If you walk right along the beach you will come across a pavilion, pub and then the town centre 😀. Fid you know that lowestoft is the most easterly point in the UK!! Great sunrise can be captured here 👌

We choosed this for a beach volleyball and it was amazing. Sand by the huts have been so soft! It gets worse going closer to the sea, however, nice and sandy, quiet shallow way into the sea again. Some entertainments around. Car park right behind the huts. Toilets have been out of order but temporarily ones standing outside. Not too overcrowded even on a bank holiday.
