Moyos Cafe (Bole Atlas) is a great place to eat if you're looking for something different from the usual Ethiopian foods. They serve burgers, wraps, salads and more- all of which are extremely healthy and delicious. The restaurant is located on Mickey Leland Street opposite Yoly hotel, so it's easy to find. The staff are exceedingly friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant itself is nicely decorated with local art.
It was quite pleasant. We had the chicken carbonara and farmer steak, and it was enjoyable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, I would recommend Moyos to anyone looking for nice dining.

A very beautiful, cozy place to be. Service is amazing. The food is amazing. Lots of healthier options.
Lidia S — Google review
It is very clean, the staff are very professional and their food is great. I had breakfast to try their food and it exceeded expectations and I went back the next day for a light meal and I was equally impressed with their food. I would definitely visit again when I'm in Addis Ababa and would recommend. The have a tiny balcony for one table which is great on a sunny day!!

Had the teff crepes, mixed veggies and fresh juice. I love that they have teff breakfast options. Service was bad first time good second time. Overall good spot.

Great food and excellent service. This place also offers Keto diet meal program. They also have open kitchen to see how clean they are. Parking is a challenge.

The food at Moyos was honestly surprisingly good. The restaurant is very simplistic and doesn't quite prepare you for the amazing cuisine they serve. The place is very clean and the staff are very friendly. They have great steak and a whole lot of healthy shakes and smoothies. I highly recommend them

The place was very nice.we orderd double chess burger and farmers stake, grille chicken.the food was great.

Nice place, friendly service, English spoken, relaxed ambiance, also comfortable for solo female travelers. Food I ordered was nice, extensive menu with lots of options, pancakes was a large portion. Just a bit too expensive overall (a juice for 55 + tax + service).

French restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Addis Ababa, La Mandoline French Restaurant offers a delightful escape into the world of exquisite French cuisine. This charming eatery captures the essence of Paris with its elegant decor, featuring vintage posters and rustic wooden furnishings that create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Diners can indulge in meticulously crafted dishes that highlight traditional French culinary techniques, such as succulent beef filet drizzled with Roquefort sauce and perfectly baked escargots.
Amazing food, best restaurant we found in Addis Ababa . Great atmosphere! Beautiful and cosy design. Every dish was excellent and the service was great (not the best English, but tried to do their best). Highly recommended if you are in Addis and want to have a yummy high level meal.
Shir P — Google review
Lovely restaurant with great atmosphere. The food was very good. It is well balanced in terms of taste. I loved the mash potatoes. Daily specials on the menu. Service is very good. English is not spoken very well but good enough for ordering.
Dori T — Google review
Delicious meal, tasty desert, and great service. The place is calm, quiet, and best for romantic dinners.
Zemene T — Google review
These “sausages” were very disappointing. They were ultra processed supermarket hot dogs, not something I expected from a French Restaurant.
Kal K — Google review
Such a nice place, very elegant and cozy, the food is on point, brava for the chef 🙌🙌♥️😍
Alyaa A — Google review
One of the best restaurants in the country - read this tagline doubted but now I confirm it is true. The bread is warm and crunchy. The dipping was great. Ordered foie gras and beef tartare both up to 1st world standard. The food portion is very big so I couldn’t finish the food. It is quite an expensive restaurant in local standard too
Wanson L — Google review
Lovely comfortable restaurant with a pleasantly surprising menu unlike any other in Addis. Sat outside for lunch. The staff was attentive (not searching for a waitress for more napkins or salt), but checked in often enough to feel like they took pride in the service they were giving. Food was amazing. Just a little confusion with the bill but an over all great experience!

Bakery
Five Loaves Bistro and Bakery is a charming spot located at Adwa Bridge in Addis Ababa, housed in an adorable brick building. The interior is cozy and beautiful, featuring a wood-paneled ceiling that adds to the inviting atmosphere. Known for their famous eggs benedict, this bistro offers a diverse menu catering to various dietary preferences including options for vegans and kids.
I have always found this place to have a great menu and argued with many before I even tasted it that it maybe the best restaurant in the city. Many said that it wasn't as great in food flavors and service as it is written in the menu. My brother wanted to have a healthy breakfast meal and recommended this place. I called the place right away and made a reservation and asked until what time they serve breakfast and considering it was Saturday, they said until about 3pm. When we got there, we parked on the street as there wasn't any parking space for the place located in the busy area of Signal area on the other side of Hayahulet. No one asked if we had reservation and sat and continued to order our meal. We order Beef Fillet, Grilled Chicken Breast, French Toast and Seafood Omelette. Out waitress brought us a 'Bruschetta' with tomatoes and parmesan cheese. It was a very nice touch and complimentary. Our lunch / brunch arrived and the Seafood Omelette was more than I expected. It was very hot, delicious, perfect portion and plenty of seafood (both garnished and sauteed with). It was one of the best dishes I have ever had and priced only at 900 birr. With many new restaurants opening in Addis Ababa like Marcus Addis and C-Prem, Five Loaves seems to have the capablility to compete with those restaurants although it lacks... 1. During the middle of of our lunch / brunch service, the staff that is supposedly to start work at around noon just stormed in through the front door and at that with some staff carrying their aprons in their hands and greeting one another in the middle of the floor and asking the earlier staff the statuses of the morning service. 2. Some great painings / photos are placed on the walls throughout the restaurant, but seem to be dirty, old and not aligned. 3. Shouldn't you have a reception at the door? But my overall experience at this place was beyond my expectation. It was amazing. I can not wait to return and try other dishes I read in the menu like Roasted Whole Chicken and Chicken Parmesan.
Bisrat A — Google review
I have a strong affection for the new location. The outdoor seating is delightful, and there are no disruptive noises. It boasts an ideal setting with excellent parking facilities. The food consistently exceeds expectations, and I highly recommend trying the chef's specials that are not listed on the menu, such as the stuffed chicken. Dine to the fullest
Betty E — Google review
The new Five Loaves is honestly amazing. The old one was great, but this new branch just takes it up a notch — the vibe, the setup, everything feels leveled up. Warm, classy, n chill at the same time. We had a few things — Chicken Parmesan, a combo plate, steak, n the Quesadilla(with chicken). That Quesadilla tho… hands down one of the best things I’ve tasted in a long time. Perfectly seasoned, cheesy, n crispy with that soft pita wrap n side sauce— pure goodness. The Chicken Parmesan was also great, combo was solid, n even the steak (while not the standout) was still good. Everything came out fresh n full of flavor. Price-wise, it’s actually super fair — most mains fall between 1K–2K birr, which is pretty good for the premium quality you get. Service was smooth, staff were nice, n the atmosphere just makes u wanna stay longer. Overall, easy 5/5 — top-tier spot for good food, chill vibes, n a bit of class without the pretense
Leul A — Google review
From the warm atmosphere to the exceptional service and delicious food, everything about this restaurant exceeded my expectations. It’s refreshing to find such a high-quality dining experience in Ethiopia. I’m truly impressed and will definitely be coming back. A well-deserved 5-star rating!

The food was good. They seem understaffed when the house is full. It has a good atmosphere. It’s a good place to go as a family or groups.

What a place!! I've been wanting to vist it for years now & I finally did. And I am so so happy not just for coming here but to actually enjoy & love every little thing from food, service, atmosphere (both outside and inside). I agree with the price being a bit expensive for sure but I had the most amazing experience & our food was delicious with lots of flavor in it! Totally and absolutely Recommended!!
Afom K — Google review
Food was underwhelming. We ordered eggs, bacon and toast which was actually good. But the salmon dish and the croissants were disappointing. Everything including the sides of roast potatoes etc was cold and the salmon was dry and nothing tasted fresh. On the positive side, the servers were very polite and the ambience was nice. I was hoping for better and fresher food.
Michael J — Google review
The food is top tier a bit on the expensive side, but if you wanna impress people, it is a great place to recommend. We had the steak sandwich, house burger, and grilled fish. Let me tell you when i say best fish i had in addis, couldn't get enough. To top it off, they even have great desert. It's definitely one to try!!

Savor is a new restaurant in Bole that is family-friendly, has a large menu, and feels like an American diner. The layout is unusual but it works well and the food is fresh and delicious. With healthy meals available, Savor offers diners a variety of options. Additionally, the restaurant has Table Service and Wheelchair Accessibility.
It's a really pleasant place with great service and tasty meals, especially the lasagna. It was somewhat packed, but that's to be expected on a Saturday night. I give it five stars overall 👌.
Elias W — Google review
The atmosphere was good, my 1st time since they opened in this location, our orders were grilled chicken & fish goulash. The grilled chicken came raw at 1st I had to cut it using the knife so hard but in z end I gave up n told the waiter the chicken is raw after I took a bite, which I took out instantly, he apologized n went back quickly then came back with another plate of same order , which was cooked tenderly, much better than the 1st. He apologized again, I told him it was okay n we had a good time .... I'm glad they got the order correct the 2nd time around. Will definitely go back for breakfast someday coz it used to be one of our favorite spots for breakfast. The music needs to be reduced more , it was too loud , I don't know y ? All in all it was good to c them back and I wish the Alcohol wasn't put out there infront coz we bring kids to breakfast n all so we don't want them to see it and we don't want to see it too , and there's somekinda lounge ..... so they should keep it in there and make the front alcohol free.

It’s my third time at the new savor, the first time I had the fasting firfir band it was spectacular. The second time I went there to have the same, it was one of the sour Injera I ever had and I mentioned it to them and to their credit they apologized and offered me a free fasting macchiato which I accepted. Then I went today to see if things have changed, I ordered the same and specifically told the waitress how I don’t want it. She accepted the order and brought me an even worse dish than the one I had before. I couldn’t believe it, I asked the waitress what happened and she acknowledged the screw up and offered me to try it with bread, and then she brought out the coldest bread you could ever serve. I’m very disappointed Savor, if you don’t have a proper cook then stick to what you know and bake!

Loved the cozy atmosphere and friendly service! Their fasting cake was surprisingly moist and flavorful, and the hot drinks were perfect. A great spot for a light treat!

Spacious area, plenty of seating, nice interior design, attentive and pleasant service, generous and delicious portions of food, with ample options of vegan/fasting food. The fasting millefeuille has to be my favourite fasting cake.
Edom T — Google review
I went here for dinner with my cousins and we had such a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a night out. Our waiter, Kalmate, truly made the evening special. He greeted us with a smile, asked for our names, spoke excellent English, and was very attentive throughout. Honestly, he’s one of the best waiters I’ve ever come across; friendly, professional, and thoughtful. We’ll definitely be coming back!
Melat S — Google review
Savor moved to this new location recently so I decided to check it out as o had some time to kill. It is located in a new building and occupies about a third of the ground floor. There didn’t seem to be an outside space to eat, and parking is going to a problem, it feels. I tried the Mille feuille here too which the waiter said is going to done “fresh” - which meant that they piped the custard after I ordered. I think that’s a nice twist for the additional minute’s wait. Cake tasted very good as did the macchiato. I had some tea and cookies on another evening and everything was great. Good experience but the place albeit new is less cosy than their previous joint.

European restaurant
Natani Cafe, situated on Bole road in Addis Ababa, is renowned for its delectable cheesecake and serves as a convenient hub for breakfast and brunch. The location offers an easy-to-find spot with a pleasant ambiance that allows patrons to savor their meals while enjoying the scenic city view. This establishment boasts an extensive menu that caters to diverse palates and dietary preferences, accommodating both traditional food enthusiasts and those with alternative tastes.
Famous for its high quality sweets, which sell for 150-180 birr each. A wide range of European-style food is also available. There are sofas and tables inside the shop. The prices are quite high. Judging by the torn menu book, the place seems to have a long history. # Addis Ababa # Ethiopia

I used to love their cakes, specially the chocolate cake was my go-to. However today, I found the cake to be slightly boring, although the cake had different textures, the custard layer in the middle didn’t do justice…all in all the flavour was bland and couldn’t really taste the chocolate. Other than that, the atmosphere and the service were really great.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this place, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The menu offered a wide variety of options, catering to different tastes and dietary preferences. Good place. Steak n cheese comes with BBQ sauce however. Was surprised but it wasn't half bad. Nothing like American Philly steak n cheese but it will do. Combo was good too, cream sauce steak a bit too buttery tho. Lasagna was great, salad was fresh, staff are very friendly.

The restaurant Mamokacha | Bole Rwanda offers a pleasant atmosphere that attracts both locals and expats, resulting in a consistently full establishment. While there may be a short wait for seating, it is an excellent choice for brunch or breakfast in the Bole Area. The quality of the food is satisfactory, and the service provided is also commendable. The establishment maintains cleanliness and organization, which is highly valued.

“One of those experiences that stay with you.” We dropped by Mamokacha without much planning, and it quietly surprised us. From the cozy atmosphere and the polite waitress, to the amazing food — everything just felt right. We shared burgers, lasagna, and sandwiches that tasted homemade, then ended with hot and tasty macchiatos and hot chocolate. Great food, warm service, and the kind of place you leave smiling, planning to return.

Very nice ambiance, was totally full all the time with both locals and expats. So you might have to wait a few minutes to be seated. Good option to have a brunch or breakfast in the Bole Area. The food is not to die for, but it is good, and so was the service. It is all clean and organized (which is highly appreciated). There are two indoor areas to seat and one semi outdoor, in the sidewalk, more suitable for smokers. They have a clean restroom with water, soap and toilet paper (not so common in Addis).

Known place by its name. It was my first time to go to this branch. The place was full of guests. The best macchiato, did not tried any food. The digital menu with bar code scaning is not working. Very poor service, finding the servers was a challenge. The service should be improved. Finding car parking area is also another challenge. The price is high for the service. I went back again, the waiter has cheated me on my change after payment.

Kokoro Addis, located in the vibrant Bole area, is a gem for sushi lovers seeking authentic flavors in Addis Ababa. Renowned for its exceptional sushi crafted by a passionate chef, this restaurant offers an inviting atmosphere perfect for celebrating special occasions or enjoying a casual meal with friends. The menu extends beyond sushi to include delectable steak and hearty pasta dishes, alongside an improved ramen that showcases their dedication to culinary excellence. Guests appreciate the generous portion sizes that leave them feeling satisfied after every meal.
Very nice restaurant - a hidden gem of Addis Ababa! The chef is very sociable and comes always to talk and explain his dishes. We tried the ramen and he told us is a very big portion so he split in 2 little ones in order we could share it ☺️ everything is very tasty !

I got here without a reservation on a weekday..my fault, I didn't know I needed one. The front staff didn't speak English and I had to wait for some minutes to be seated (in a nearly empty restaurant to be honest) by an English speaker. I ordered a few dishes for takeout and was told it would take an hour for my food to be ready. At this point, I was sceptical but I wasn't about to risk another delay going elsewhere. My food arrived in about an hour and half but the chef came out with a profuse apology and half a loaf of multigrain bread as peace offering..lol. I was then told I couldn't pay by card but then the story changed later when it became apparent there was just no way I could pay with cash The food was good especially the short rib and salmon and I really enjoyed the bread...thank you. Please do something about the wait time and training staff to communicate effectively. Tldr; best short rib, long wait time, meh service

We searched for a Japanese restaurant nearby, and this place came up on Google. Hoping for an authentic experience, we decided to give it a try. We ordered ‘Yodofu’ (tofu) and ‘Chicken Ramen’ (noodles). While the presentation was decent, the portions were disappointingly small. The total cost came to 1,710 Birr (around 13 Euros), which felt overpriced, especially considering the portion size and quality. Based on our experience dining in Addis Ababa, this restaurant falls on the expensive side. To make matters worse, the food lacked authenticity, failing to capture the true flavours of Japanese cuisine. For the price, we had higher expectations, and unfortunately, this restaurant didn’t deliver. If you’re looking for genuine Japanese food or good value for money, this might not be the best option.

Kokoro is 😘 Their food is fantastic, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The atmosphere has always been indescribable every time I visit the place. The service- perfect 10/10—attentive and friendly throughout the evening. A special shoutout to the wonderful chef and owner, Seife!
Adyam S — Google review
A little on the expensive side, but the staff is really attentive and responsive. We had a moment where we weren’t sure about an ingredient in one of the dishes, and they actually brought out the chef himself, holding clear proof. He was super friendly and polite, with a great sense of humor. You can tell he really understands and respects the dishes he creates, there’s a personal touch that runs through the whole place. Turns out he lived in Japan, and it definitely shows in how the whole restaurant is set up. I’d recommend asking to meet the chef, who’s also the owner, he’s genuinely a pleasure to talk to.
Yohannes Y — Google review
It is a beautiful place with an amazing sushi. It's always difficult to get a good quality sushi in Addis, and I must say this is one of the few places where you can find a very well prepared, authentic, and tasty sushi. They also have other options like steak and pasta, but we only tried the ramen and sushi. Friendly staff, great service, and the chef is really nice, passionate about his food, which is amazing. Beautifully decorated, sitting with the option to sit outside and a classy restaurant inside. Enjoyable and relaxing atmosphere. Great options of drinks, wine, and beer, as well as hot drinks, a tasty ginger tea. 😊😊

Great food, calm atmosphere. This was my 4th visit, always fresh, good cooking food with plenty of choices. The personnel working there are helpful but a little more appreciation for mr. Abayneh for today's help. Ethiopian airlines are making huge steps beyond to established as one of the biggest companies not only for the fleet size and the destinations they fly to but also in its overall service to passengers.

I visited this restaurant during my layover at ADD. I availed the dinner buffet at this restaurant. I loved the Injera and Chicken curry. The jasmine rice was also good. Plenty of desserts were also available and were tasty. They had a couple of vegetarian options as well like chickpea stew and salads. Mr. Zewdu helped me understand the local cuisine and was quite courteous. Will definitely recommend this restaurant for transiting travellers.

I found this restaurant to be a warm oasis on my brief stopover in Addis Ababa. The food was above expectations, but the real star was the service. All staff were warm and friendly, but I would like to single out Tigis, who was our server. She was outstanding and gave service that was incredible. Thank you Tigis!!

It was a very difficult time for them but at a certain point everything became easier, I saw them smiling more, less tired, and less shy. I soon discovered that it was thanks to their favorite YouTuber Lyon Uen Gayners Feil. My husband and I, even though we are divorced, felt the need to go and thank Lyon in person for helping our family but also to surprise our children. Last May we went to Addis Ababa just to meet him in the Fan club. We had to wait a bit, first they served us food: as a first course, the fennel pyramid and second course Sgabirro alla Cutrettola. That day we were lucky because Lyon (the chef) came out of the kitchen, our two children noticed him and went to hug him. The strimer was very kind to them and to all of us, he made my children's dream come true and calmed my family.❤️❤️❤️ (Original) Sono nata nel '66,non ho mai saputo cosa fosse la depressione finché i miei due figli di 13 e 17 anni l'hanno contratta. Restaurant
Kategna Restaurant is a popular Ethiopian dining spot in Addis Ababa, known for its authentic and diverse menu. Unlike many local eateries, Kategna offers a wide variety of dishes, including some that are rarely found outside of homes due to their complexity. The restaurant takes pride in serving traditional Ethiopian delicacies such as doro wat (chicken stew) and conducts a traditional coffee roasting ceremony that fills the air with an enticing aroma.
Now this was a spectacular experience for my taste buds. For anyone travelling to Addis Abeba, Ethiopia (Katanga restaurant) is a MUST. Beautifully traditional dining experience. What’s on show today was jaw dropping the pictures do not capture the mind blowing aromas & spicies presented to us. My colleagues and I sat in awe as very large sized plates were served/shared perfectly amongst us. With the staple traditional teff injera (this super-soft, slightly sour pancake-like, spongy unique base) covered the plate to soak in all of the species of this spectacular dish. Hopefully you’ve been able to picture what we were experiencing from this description, if not just look and marvel at the pictures. The diced spicy lamb mixed with herbs, spices & chilli’s traditional (Awaza Tibs) was a favourite & one I’d definitely recommend. The other large plate had an array of colours with a mix a different options. With salads, traditional Shirou & Misera(Vegan favourites), aswell as diced lamb for meat lovers so we can all eat together as one. Eating is a union here in Ethiopia and inside Ethiopian restaurants you’ll notice it is done together. (Make sure to understand the traditional protocol of washing your hands before you eat, it is a must!)

I went in for a late lunch and was not disappointed. The food was excellent, and it felt amazing to return to this restaurant after six years and find the same great vibe and consistency in quality. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Ethiopian cuisine. The shiro here is my absolute favorite!
Juliana S — Google review
Kategna is an absolute gem of a restaurant and an experience you won't want to miss. We started with the meat firfir, and every bite was an incredible blend of savory spices and tender injera. The siga wot was equally impressive—the meat was so flavorful and cooked to perfection, with a rich, authentic sauce that truly stood out. Beyond the fantastic food, the entire atmosphere of the place is magical. The interior is stunning, filled with beautiful, intricate Ethiopian artifacts and decor that create a warm, inviting, and truly immersive dining environment. It’s clear that so much thought went into every detail. What really sealed the deal for us was the service. The staff was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout our entire meal, making sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. It was genuinely a top-class experience from start to finish. I can't recommend Kategna enough; it's the perfect spot for delicious, authentic Ethiopian food and a wonderful evening out.

A specifically came to this restaurant for their doro wat, but what I seem to have been served is a small tiny drumstick of chewy meat in a big bowl of sauce with one egg. I paid a premium price for this. Everything else was fine at the restaurant. But my main dish was minuscule and chewy. I'm definitely not returning to this restaurant.

This place is probably the best place for exclusive Ethiopian food and the food is very amazing we ordered doro firfir and quanta dirkosh with kitfo and we also ordered some firfir with meat and with no butter. it was heavenly the doro firfir had chicken that fell of the bone, the quanta is crisy yet succulent, and the kitfo has a very exceptional texture with flawless flavour to die for! Though the firfir with no butter had some sort of rope in it , and its not bad but it had to much garlic. So honestly the overall rating is 9.8/10. Would go again!👍

Cupcake Delights Bakery offers a variety of sweet treats and beverages in a cozy setting. While some customers found the cinnamon roll to be as expected, others enjoyed the Ethiopian macchiato and discovered new favorite dishes like Tibs. The bakery is praised for its friendly staff and perfect service, making it a good spot to enjoy coffee and people-watch. Customers also appreciated the delicious cinnamon rolls with fresh toppings, although some found certain items to be a bit dry.
This is a lovely cafe to relax and catch a chilled vibe in the city centre. A wonderful ambience (sunlight added additional value) and very good service. I went for their signature dessert which was the Cinnamon roll, it was absolutely delightful. I would highly recommend you try it if you are in town.

I’ve visited this bakery twice now, and overall, it’s been a lovely experience. They offer a nice variety of freshly made cakes, cupcakes, ice cream, and hot drinks, making it a great spot to pop into for a treat or a quick break. The staff are always friendly, welcoming, and happy to help with recommendations. It gives the place a warm and inviting feel. Out of everything I tried, the cupcakes and cinnamon buns stood out the most. The cupcakes were moist and flavourful, and the cinnamon buns, while on the thicker side, were still enjoyable and satisfying. If you prefer a lighter texture, the buns might be a bit dense for your taste, but they’re still worth trying. One item I wasn’t too keen on was the red velvet cake. Unfortunately, it didn’t have much flavour and mostly tasted like food colouring, which was a bit of a letdown. That said, there’s definitely a lot to like here, and I’d happily come back to try more.

Lovely little spot in Bole with a cozy vibe and friendly service. They have a great selection of cinnamon rolls—definitely the highlight! The americano wasn’t really my favorite, but everything else made up for it. Worth a visit if you’re in the area and love pastries.
Wendy O — Google review
Came to try the cinnamon roll. The roll was what I was expecting, the “frosting” was just straight up frothed milk. Cupcake tasted close enough to red velvet though dry. Macchiato was an Addis Ababa macchiato. It’s a cute place to sit, have your morning coffee in the sun, and people watch.
Selam — Google review
I had the lasagna and a red velvet cupcake for dessert. The lasagna sheets were so dry... just cause you drown it in sauce, it doesn't make it fresh. Pray I don't get sick from it. And the cupcake was saved by the icing...otherwise completely tasteless! The 2 stars are for the machiato and the service.

One of my favorite cafes in Addis. The very first thing I love about them , they open 7 in the morning 🙏🏽 Love their coffee and foods as well. The newly opened small cake shop is pretty nice as well. I like how the place is green and cool in the sunny hours. The snacks at 5 remind me of my childhood.

Chaka Coffee isn’t just a cafe, it’s an experience. Established in 2016, we started as a metropolitan haven for coffee lovers, offering extraordinary brews alongside healthy and traditional breakfast menus. Our passion for quality and community fueled rapid growth. By 2017, we had expanded to the central business district, and by 2021, we had five branches across Addis Ababa, serving you seven days a week. Today, Chaka Coffee is a family of over 300 dedicated employees, all committed to making your day brighter. We’re more than just coffee; we’re a taste of the good life.

Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting Chaka Coffee for breakfast, and I was not disappointed. The environment was inviting and cozy but I liked the ambiance of the Bole branch more, the service was excellent. The teff chebchebsa was exceptional, with the honey being the perfect complement. The tea was also superb, as usual. The staff was attentive and accommodating, making my experience as pleasurable as the food itself. If you're looking for a great place to have breakfast, Chaka Coffee is definitely a must-visit!

I recently visited Chaka Coffee at the CMC Convention Centre and was very impressed by the overall experience. My husband and I ordered the English cake and coffee, both of which were fresh and flavorful. The café, which I was informed opened recently, is beautifully designed — clean, well-lit, and tastefully decorated. The interior décor adds a refined charm and creates a relaxing atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. Overall, Chaka Coffee offers a wonderful blend of quality, comfort, and aesthetics. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant place to enjoy good coffee and conversation.

Food is always on point! Been here quite a few times and it's always good. The service is good too but can be very slow at times. For some reason the servers tend to congregate around the cashier and stay there for a while, and I don't think it's just waiting for a receipt but the receipt is always the excuse for the delay. This has made me mad a couple of times, especially when I was in a rush. Other than that, I always recommend this place for traditional Ethiopian breakfast.

Chaka is a great spot especially to grab some breakfast. The competitive edge for places specializing in breakfasts is, tic-tok, time and Chaka is well in this! Orders arrive pretty fast! La Patisserie is a delightful café that offers a wide variety of delectable cakes, along with coffee and tea. To ensure you have the best cake choices, it's recommended to arrive early in the morning before they run out. Despite its small size, this charming establishment allows customers to conveniently order from their cars and enjoy their treats.
It is one of the best places for cakes and very nice macchiato. We have tried the custard cake, Mille-feuille, fruit tart, and my all.time favourite cheese cake. All taste amazing. The service can be improved as the place can be crowded at times, and the place seems a bit understaffed. The cafe is located at the Meskel Square with a nice seat outside and inside. It's a beautiful view!!!

It is a cozy little coffee spot that's both charming and lively. I went in a busy hour still has relaxed and inviting atmosphere. The inside was very warm since they bake fresh pastries. I ordered Opera cake and it was delightful. Its a great place to meet up with friends or even colleagues for lunch or just to talk and relax. Since they are at a crucial spot in bole, its hard not to notice and pop by for some Macchiato or cake. A deal breaker is their price so be sure to come in packed. Serive was medicore.

They are located in the center of the city but lack competence. The cafe has two floors, the ground and the first floor. The first floor is poorly designed, and the stairs are badly constructed. The building itself is unfinished, and the restroom is inconveniently located in the unfinished part. Overall, I didn't have the best experience there.
M!chael — Google review
Good place to meet friends for a coffee due to its excellent location (directly in front of Edna Mall). High variety to choose from and with very good prices, but half of the things we asked for (from the menu) were not available 😪. Staff was friendly but spoke very limited English and one can tell that they can easily get overwhelmed by the requests when there's a lot of people. Parking is complicated and while restrooms are available, they don't have the best conditions (no water to flush the toilet and no paper available at the moment of the visit)
Maricha M — Google review
Went in as a group and specifically ordered their chocolate cake but they changed our order to a different cake that was stale for days just so they can finish selling the batch. And had the audacity to tell us this is what we ordered and that the cake was just baked. The soft cake was so stale that it was very dry and chewy. Very disappointing experience and honestly, will probably stay that way cause this was not my first bad experience here. Don't recommend!

As we are in Gena fasting period, many of Ethiopian have decided to fast. We prefer not to consume some particular foods including the traditional pizza, which contains ham and different varieties of meat and cheese. Here is a fasting version of the traditional pizza which found in Karavan coffee. This cafe serves different delicious foods and drinks with good hospitality and service. Ingredients 450gr flour 1 yeast sachet Tomato sauce Greek virgin olive oil 1tsp sea salt .boild Brooklyn And if any on is welling to make it home here are some instructions for you. Instructions Start by heating some water. Put the yeast into water, until it is dissolved Add some flour and mix for a while. Let it rest for almost 10 minutes In a large bowl, add some flour and some sea salt. Afterwards pour them into the yeast mixture. Mix until, all ingredients are combined Cover with a towel and let the dough rise Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough in very thin sheets Spread some Greek virgin olive oil in a baking tray Cover the sheets of the dough with tomato sauce and add the ingredients you prefer Bake the pizza at 200C for almost 20 minutes Enjoy

Tryst Addis is a laid-back and artistic cafe with a serene ambiance. The design of the place caters to everyone's needs, whether you want to relax, watch a game, or get some work done. The food is exceptional, particularly the qeqel that's simply irresistible. The interior of the cafe is truly impressive, creating an Instagram-worthy atmosphere that has attracted numerous locals. It's a perfect spot for unwinding, reading books, or even playing chess.
As a visitor visiting Addis, you do feel dismayed by the lack of fine dining and drinking establishments in town. But Tryst is an exception. When you walk in, you could easily think you're a bar in New York, London, or Melbourne. This place has a nice vibe, with the DJ spinning RnB and board games are aplenty. The drinks and service are good, and I had an elevated gomen besega with lamb, which instantly made it one of my favourite dishes. The cheesebuger was slightly dry and lacked texture, but I won't penalise them for that too much. Tryst is an exemplar of how Addis is on coming up to be a powerhouse in East Africa. Come here to chill, watch sport, or eat. You won't be disappointed.

The vibe is so chill with the arts and breeze. I love how the place was designed to include everyone be it if you wannna watch a game or chill or even work, this place has it all. The food was amazing, especially qeqel to die for . Love this place.

I can’t even begin to express how much I love this place. From the food to the music, the service to the sense of community, it’s unlike anywhere else I’ve been in Addis. It feels like a hidden gem where everything just is perfect. Its the perfect spot to unwind with friends after a long day!

Tiny menu but the two Ethiopian items we ordered were brilliant. Our server was friendly and efficient. On Monday, there was live music and two guys played popular songs across the genres and ages. Cozy interior with many design flourishes.

Donut Stop: A Delicious Destination for Every Craving! 🍩 Donut Stop is more than just a donut shop - it's a sweet experience! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with friendly service and a smile. The staff is always so helpful and cheerful, they even helped me pick out the perfect assortment for birthdays and special occasions. But the real stars are the donuts themselves. Each one is a work of art, with beautiful frosting designs and a perfect golden-brown crust. And the flavors? Oh my! They've got classics like glazed and chocolate, plus seasonal specials that are always a treat. My personal favorite is the caramel. It's a perfect blend of sweet and salty, with a rich caramel glaze that's not too cloying. The caramel melts in your mouth, leaving a smooth, creamy finish. The best part? They're always delivered on time! No matter how many donuts I order, they arrive fresh and perfect, making every occasion even sweeter. If you're looking for a donut shop that delivers on taste, service, and punctuality, Donut Stop is the place to go!

The ambiance was very inviting with beautiful decor and comfortable seating. The perfect donut test is all about a balance of sweetness and texture, and this place nailed it. The donuts were fluffy and had the right amount of sweetness, not to mention the gooey toppings and flavor infusions added a wow factor. The staff was incredibly friendly and quick to attend to my needs, making me feel welcome as a customer. I also noticed the shop was sparkling clean, which gave me peace of mind. Overall, I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a treat or a break from their busy day. It was the perfect haven for a donut lover like me.

Nice place for a fresh donut. Brought the kids to give it a try. The selection was small - plain, chocolate, rainbow sprinkles, but they were good. We'll try the soft serve ice cream next time. Staff were neither friendly or unfriendly. Service was fair. Place was clean and new.

I had the double burger and it was awesome. Their french fries are very American better than McDonald's. Back again one year later, I live here in Addis now. Came back for yes you guessed it! Another double cheese burger# and it was as good as before! Thanks doughnut stop! Another edit! I'm back and this time I've brought friends and family!

Upon opening the restaurant was great and everything was fresh, but unfortunately the quality has gone down since then. I had to wait for 25 minutes for a simple ice cream order and when I received the order, it tasted like water and nothing like a vanilla ice cream. The donut was very dry and not fresh. Pretty sad because it was our favorite place to go to.
Narii A — Google review
Very rude staff, unprofessional.Toilet was so discusting, we couldnt even eat out side and when we inform the staff we were told the cleaning lady went home(at 6pm) which was not our problem. I find that most unprofessional answer. mind u i was with 4 kids pls talk to ur staff they need basic training.

It is a very small place. Nice Yemeni decoration. Not so much variety in menu. Service is fair. But it is a place where most go for shawarma. The waitress was nice as I thought. But I had bad experience. I was a regular customer as I really liked the shawarma meal with french fries and mayonnaise. I would always buy, but the last time, they got tricked. I took the takeaway as always and trusted them but when I reached home, I found no French fries and the shawarma almost half of it was empty, just so it would take the place of French fries to look full (with the same PRICE) I was upset and call them and told them about it, and I took pictures. They told me to send them the pictures, and they will make it up to me. I did send them the pictures and never heard from them. After a while, they called me saying they will send me free food making it up, but they never did. I'm disappointed, and this made me to never go back again. In addition, I once saw they gave a chilly sauce with the shawarma meal to one customer, so I asked them if they would give me, too. At first, the waitress said they don't have chilly sauce in the cafe. But then I took my takeaway as usual, then as I took a bite from the shawarma, there was a chilly sauce in it. That means they would choose who to give it to, and if I didn't saw the other customer shawarma meal, they would not have put it in my shawarma. Learn that they denied it at first.

These are one of the worst restaurants I ever had to encounter this people don’t attend or talk properly on the phone when you order talk to each other instead! The waitress don’t have uniform or hat nets there is dirt and hair in the food. Made me wait two hours today and when they took long I said let me send my driver when he got there she still said it’s not ready not recommend you waste your time 1/10 terrible

One of the nicest cafés in the city. Their breakfast/lunch selections are delicious and affordable. The Adeni tea is quite rich and the ambiance unbeatable.

I really liked this place.... It's more like it's name and got better pizza, felafel, fetira with egg and honey and got a nice hot tea named Adani, prices are really fair and good service. I suggest you to check it as it works till 4 AM and has parking slots and very relaxing view

Tesfa Coffee, also known as ተስፋ ቡና, is a unique and culturally prepared Ethiopian coffee that stands out from the rest in Addis Ababa. It offers a pure coffee experience without the need for sugar. Many people find themselves drinking at least two cups of this exceptional coffee every day due to its high quality and distinct flavor. The roasted and packed coffee can even be taken home to enjoy the same delightful taste.
The best coffee I had in Addis, and in a wonderful and authentic coffee ceremony atmosphere, and at a really good price. Popular with locals as much as with tourists. The staff are all lovely, and the founder Tesfa was great company and conversation - he happened to be there each morning. I had my morning coffee here every day while I was in Addis, and I will be heading straight here next time I visit.
Thomas D — Google review
One of the best places I’ve come across! The atmosphere is lively yet comfortable, offering something for everyone. It’s great for solo visits or group outings. The staff is professional and genuinely cares about your experience. The space is clean, organized, and well-designed. If you’re nearby, it’s a must-visit that guarantees a mix of productivity and relaxation.

Absolutely love this place. It’s a little cute traditional cafe with really nice staff and atmosphere. We were lucky to meet the owner who was so welcoming and nice to us. It’s a walk distance from the National museum. 10/10. Hope to be back soon 😊
Martin — Google review
Lovely coffee/breakfast spot so close to the National Museum! They created a memorable coffee experience, and the owner was very helpful and kind. The atmosphere was fun, and the coffees (we loved both traditional and macchiato) were very reasonably priced. We also had a breakfasty dish, with eggs, flat bread, onions, honey, and optional spicy peppers, so yummy!

I tried 3 cakes; the pink one got a horrible taste inside that I couldn't even swallow. The other cakes are underwhelming. The waiters are not trained enough, They get confused by a basic question. The QR code link for feedback doesn't work. The only good thing I give them credit for is their coffee, I had a nice espresso.
