Coffee shop
La Libertad Centro is a popular spot in Merida with two locations, offering a cozy atmosphere and a menu featuring an array of dishes perfect for sharing. The restaurant is known for its brunch and lunch options, including traditional favorites like hotcakes, chilaquiles, and crepes poblanas. Customers often rave about the chilaquiles on social media.
This is still our favorite brunch place in Mérida. We've been to all the other locations with this being our first time to the Centro location. It's a beautiful place. The food portions are huge and so flavorful. I usually get the Yucatán Benedict, but branched out and tried the chilaquiles torta with lechon and it was a new favorite. The Turkish Eggs with their homemade sourdough was absolutely divine. A new favorite for my wife. The service is always great and the food continues to set the bar high.
Jason P — Google review
While the food was great, the service was lacking. The coffee and food took a really long time to arrive, so make sure you are not in a rush. We had ordered waters that never arrived and wanted mimosas but were informed they only start serving alcohol at 12:00. Despite this, the staff was super friendly and overall I think La Libertad is still worth a visit!
Ann U — Google review
The food portions are huge and delicious! Make sure to be really hungry when visiting. Drinks were delicious and refreshing. I ordered some orange juice, but it was to sweet, since it's normal for people here to add a bit of sugar to it. Reservations are only after 1pm so, if you're planning on going for breakfast, you better be early. Since it's always busy you do have to wait at least 30min to get a table. There are 2 areas, indoors with A/C and outdoors. Due to the extreme weather here, I recommend indoors.
Viviana A — Google review
⭐️ Satisfied! 🤩 The Food Is Fresh and Delicious! You can request at your convenience. With Great Service you will have a great Experience here! ✨🙌💎Highly Recommend💎🙌✨

Incredible service! Inside seating does seem a bit crowded and claustrophobic so I sat outside however it was a bit hot which is to be excepted. The service was great and informative on the menu! Highly recommend the nutella and queso de bola french toast. The horchata latte did not taste like horchata but still ok. I recommend trying another flavor!
Jenavee M — Google review
Excellent quality food that was very tasty. There latees were also very good. Beautiful use of a colonial building. I am gluten free and there was plenty of options.
Anya G — Google review
We didn’t have to wait to get a table and the interior is pretty nice. We weren’t impressed by the food though, we both ordered huevos motuleños, which lacked the plátanos, but wasn’t very flavorful either. But to be fair, the price was okay.
Dóra P — Google review
Had perfect breakfast at this restaurant! The staff deco and ambiance is very nice, colonial design of the place adds to the ambiance of this eatery. We ordered French toasts and Chilaquiles. You can choose to add Nutella or other options, I went with Nutella and it just worked perfect for me. With chilaquiles, you can order with chicken, eggs etc. I also ordered coffee Americano to have with French toast. All the items were good and upto the mark along with staff and service

Casa T´HŌ Concept House is situated in a beautifully renovated 19th-century mansion on Paseo de Montejo. The space features a stylish courtyard and offers a variety of experiences, from healthy breakfast options to pre-dinner cocktails. Visitors can explore the collection of designer boutiques, perfumeries, and art galleries showcasing Mexican talent. This multi-concept space highlights Mexico's creative scene and is housed in an architectural monument.
Everything about this place is divine! The building space is beautiful, the shops are excellent, and the food and cocktails are delight. The whole space shows thoughtful presentation and design. For me, shopping here is a bit over budget but I recognize quality when I see it. I purchased something a little small as a treat. I also enjoyed a light lunch that was delicious and reasonably priced. For those without the funds, looking is still wonderful. It’s like an art gallery.have a cocktail in the courtyard and soak in a bit of luxury. It’s worth it.
Narayani H — Google review
A pleasant spot with good food, desserts, and drinks. It’s slightly pricier than others nearby, but the experience and service are worth it. Great for brunch, a date, or a quiet coffee. Shops and galleries with creative designs are also there.
Betsy A — Google review
Amazing place! We enjoyed it to the fullest! Had an amazing brunch, bought some art and perfumes. Top notch products and designs.
Ema K — Google review
Lovely place I love to have breakfast when I’m in Merida. I always thought their avocado toast is the best in town but I have to say that recently, I felt it went a bit downhill, probably for the low quality bread they use. The waitress are really nice. The place remains a good place to spend some time and to work from a computer. Expensive for what it delivers. The quality is average!
Federica — Google review
Well, Mérida is definitely hot and humid — but at Casa Tho, it was a nightmare. We went this morning for breakfast, and while the place itself is beautiful, the experience was very disappointing. We asked them to turn on the fans, but they said there was no electricity — quite odd for such a nice establishment. Service was terrible and breakfast was just okay. It took over an hour for our food to come out of the kitchen, and another 20 minutes just to get the check. Overall, I do not recommend this place. Beautiful setting, but the service and organization were unacceptable.
Alejandro Z — Google review
We've had two lunches here, and we've loved both. The first day we had the avocado an salmon toasts. The next day, I had the tuna tartare and my wife had the spicy ca rrot soup. Everything was excellent. It has a lovely quiet atmosphere, similar to old Singapore (the weather is so similar). The margarita was probably one of the best I've ever had.
Mike T — Google review
You must stop by this place for a divine meal and artisanal shopping. We had some cute cocktails and bites including the arancini and the sandwich made with bacon , grilled pineapple, Gruyère. The stores include an art gallery a carla Fernandez store with amazing clothes and a number of other boutiques including a jewelry spot and some home furnishings
Ceraun L — Google review
Gorgeous older building with precious courtyard turned into a collection of boutique shops and a restaurant. The shops feature high end designer clothes, products and art. Definitely an interesting stop as you’re exploring Paseo de Montejo.

Rare book store
El Apapacho is a charming and welcoming spot that offers homestyle Mexican cuisine, art exhibits, and even houses a feminist bookstore. The restaurant prides itself on providing delicious food that tastes like it's been made by grandma. The vibrant murals and unique decor create an inviting atmosphere for couples of all kinds to enjoy a meal together. Additionally, the cafe features a book-themed front room and a lovely backyard, making it an ideal place to relax with coffee or savor healthy Mexican dishes.
Loved this place so much we dined 2 times in our 1 week stay in the area. It truly is a hidden oasis in the back of a lovely bookstore. We dined at night and the courtyard was cool and nicely decorated. Their mole is the best we had in Merida, such rich flavors. It's a small place with a smal kitchen so sit back and relax while you wait, it's worth it.
Traveling P — Google review
Amazing food and a feminist bookstore in one. If they have the Chile Relleno on special, get it. It's huge, packed with ingredients, and will ruin the tex mex dish you think is good. Very attentive service. They get by with English. The front is a bar, the back is a patio under a thick foliage. We had five dishes and all were top tier.
Frank P — Google review
Fantastic, fresh, and authentic Mexican food in a lovely atmosphere with plenty of wall art. Had the enchiladas with pollo asada, the guacamole, and the flan. All were really really flavorful. Also ordered two different types of lemonade (don’t skip the lemonade!) and some mezcal drinks. It’s a bit of a walk from the center of town but absolutely worth it. The staff here is lovely also!
Timur A — Google review
A great place for a quick bite and relaxed atmosphere. Food was delicious, service amazing. Just keep in mind they don’t have AC, but fans help a lot. Plenty of vegan options.
Inga T — Google review
Tucked away in a cozy corner of the city, El Apapacho offers a beautifully curated dining experience that blends traditional Mexican flavors with a warm, literary ambiance. We ordered the casuela de pollo with house-made Oaxaqueño mole, and it was a standout. The mole was rich, velvety, and full of depth, (also spicy to beware if you have a low tolerance) clearly a labor of love. We especially appreciated that it was served with chicken breast, which added a lean and tender texture to the dish. Paired with a Carajillo, the meal struck a perfect balance between comfort and indulgence. The atmosphere elevated the experience further. A wall of curated books for sale gave the space a thoughtful, artistic vibe—like dining inside a creative retreat. The music was on point, setting a relaxed yet upbeat tone throughout the meal. Service was excellent and prompt, with our server attentive without being intrusive; exactly what you hope for in a casual fine dining setting. Highly recommended for those looking to enjoy authentic Mexica cuisine in a space that feels both personal and inspired.
Tiffany H — Google review
Wonderful & delicious restaurant in Mérida! The aguas frescas were refreshing & we appreciated the unique flavors they offered. The seafood tasted very fresh, we ordered the Pacifico which was a tasty guacamole and side of marinated shrimp, the aguachile was phenomenal. I tried the vegan chile enogada, it was also tasty. It’s a uniquely Mexican dish, I was recommended to try these chiles specifically in Mèrida. The outdoor patio is beautifully shaded & they provide bug spray for your comfort. No AC & mosquitos but that’s not a complaint, it just is what it is, sometimes you’ve just got to embrace the natural atmosphere of a place! Highly recommend for their fresh seafood, tasty food & enjoyable patio.
Ceni H — Google review
Delicious food! Probably the best we had in Merida. Both moles were amazing. And the garden is very peaceful. Tons of options for vegans, vegetarians and carnivores It's just great all around.
Tanay V — Google review
If you have not eaten their Chile en Nogada then you are missing out. This is the most flavorful that I’ve had in Mexico. I’ve tasted many, many in Puebla, CDMX Merida and elsewhere in Mexico and in pricey restaurants and this is by far the best.

Manjar Blanco is a charming spot located across from the Santa Ana park, offering traditional Yucatecan breakfast. Their breakfast packages include bottomless coffee, fresh-squeezed orange juice, a fruit bowl, and various main dishes like eggs with Valladolid sausage or Chaya Omelette. The restaurant has attracted attention for its traditional Yucatecan cuisine with surprising twists such as smoked pork belly panucho and queso relleno negro.
Nice and spacious. Yucatán's traditional dishes. Outdoor area, but if you prefer there's air conditioner. Food is great and service was awesome. Highly recommend.
Alfonso M — Google review
We went there twice during our week-long stay in Merida. We like it a lot. Quite, well taken care of, place. The service was great! We have 0 Spanish knowledge 🥲 yet we didn’t feel lost or left out. The food was great and the price is reasonable (the average of that area). Would recommend!
Vlad — Google review
Best food I’ve had in Merida. Run. Don’t walk to try their cochinillo pibil. We had asked locals where they eat and this spot was recommended. I’d make a whole trip to Merida just for this. Also. Fresh squeezed oj and great service. But between the hot sauce, proper tortillas and succulent pig, life is worth living all over again. Updating my review because we kept coming back to eat here. It was THAT DELICIOUS. Oh and they have their own PARKING
Shelly D — Google review
Saturday early Lunch. 4 top. Order: Pitcher of Agua de Chaya and Lima. EXCELLENT Ponchos de Cochinta- dry meat, needed flavor Cochinta Pibil. Good but was expecting more after watching Taco Chronicles on Netflix. Sopa the Lima- not what I was expecting. Mid at best. Service. SLOW. My Cochinta plate came out like 30min after everyone got their's. Pretty much everyone was done when I got my food. What's actually hard to get the waiter's attention. Nowhere to be seen. Unfortunately, I cannot say I will be back. Dark interior. Outside beautiful.

Manjar Blanco in Mérida offers a delightful brunch experience that beautifully showcases Yucatecan cuisine. This charming restaurant serves traditional dishes with a modern twist. A lot of Vegetarian options available. The refreshing hibiscus and Chaya juices are perfect complements to the meal. With attentive service and a welcoming ambiance, Manjar Blanco is a must-visit spot for brunch in Mérida
Mritunjay K — Google review
Wow wow wow. The cochinita pibil was outstanding, I want to go back for more already. Wonderful. It's unfair for us to rate the atmosphere because as we were the only ones in there. It was 4pm in 41 degrees. We just wish they were open for dinner.

Dragon fruit drink it’s amazing , but tortillas of my panuchos fell apart in a short time , but flavor was really good .

V nice place in downtown merida... the cochinita pibil was yummy (better the next day honestly!) The ambience is lovely outside (indoors is dark)... my favorite was the delicious chaya limon - this local lemonade drink special to the yucatan. Must try!

Marmalade 47 is an exceptional espresso bar that offers a delectable cinnamon roll with a variety of delicious toppings. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the service provided is incredibly welcoming. It comes highly recommended for its incredible food options and excellent customer service. However, there have been reports of an abundance of flies in the restaurant, which can be off-putting. Despite this issue, both the service and the quality of the food remain outstanding.
We absolutely loved our breakfast here. The Cappuccino was my wife’s favorite in Merida. Smooth without any bitterness flavor. My Cold brew was delicious. Omelette and salad were made to perfection. Their Banana Bread was delicious, huge and tied us over for the whole day.
Marat N — Google review
Great atmosphere and vibes. The music is just as great as the delicious food! Easily the best coffee and latte’s I’ve had outside of being in Italy. Will definitely be back again!
Kalekia A — Google review
Make sure to book a reservation in advance; otherwise, the wait might be long. Pet-friendly. It's a quintessential brunch spot. For our main dishes, we had the Marmalade breakfast, bacon eggs Benedict, and a side of pancakes. Everything was cooked to perfection. The eggs and bacon were prepared just as we requested, and the pancakes were soft and fluffy. The marmalade served with the toast was fantastic! Overall, it was a great experience.
Nirupa P — Google review
We have been back three times during our holiday and are never disappointed. Great staff! Loved the chilaquiles, the fruit bowls, omelettes and for dinner the burger. Only suggestion was the wine wasn’t great but otherwise everything was fantastic. Also a great chai latte with breakfast.
Elaine B — Google review
Very cute brunch spot! Enjoyed the vibe (good music, trendy decor) and ofcourse the food! The quality of food is good and that comes through in the taste. I especially enjoyed the potatoes that came with my avacado cremini toast. If you are looking for a nice space to relax and have a brunch come here
P T — Google review
The absolute best brunch and breakfast in Merida, maybe all of Mexico! Erick was an attentive server. An absolute must if you go to Merida.
Antonietta R — Google review
Nice spot for a breakfast.. a few areas that need improvement. First with the good: latte was delicious, inside was quaint and comfortable with great AC in the hot weather. And they gave us complimentary water which we have never seen dining in Mexico in the last 8 months. For the negatives: the service was poor. All the servers were wearing masks (it’s not Covid anymore) and because of the mask you can barely hear the server. Also she was not very friendly or welcoming. Second, the iPads are annoying. It feels like you are ordering from a fast food restaurant. Let’s bring back old school and servers writing down orders and making conversation with the patrons. It felt so robotic ordering here. Nothing special at all. We are in historic downtown Merida. Let’s keep things authentic please. Third.. one of our dishes came at least 8 mins after the other so we had to wait for it and when I finally got my pancakes they were cold. But again the server didn’t come back to check on us so I couldn’t even give feedback. Overall service needs major improvement. Get rid of the masks, get the servers to be more friendly and genuine. The food was tasty but the service put a sour note on our morning. Overall still not satisfied.

Ramiro Cocina is a hidden gem in Merida, Mexico, offering authentic homemade Mexican food with local and seasonal ingredients. The restaurant's small plates are complemented by a cocktail menu. Visitors praise the quality and flavor of the dishes, comparing it to top-tier restaurants but at a fraction of the cost. The intimate setting and reasonable prices make it an exceptional dining experience.
We had a delightful time at Cocina Ramiro! We popped up on their 3 yr anniversary unknowingly. They did have a daily choices menu, we tried everything on the menu and everything was absolutely delicious.🔥🔥 The Lechón tacos and the Corn ribs hit the spot for us! also the camarones tostada was very yummy! That day they even had a DJ for the fiesta. 🎉 Vibe is down to earth, wonderful garden, the food is center stage.
Tiffany D — Google review
This was an awesome experience. A true home-cooked meal with dialed in seasoning and a causal outdoor patio environment. The menu changes daily and is explained to you as you sit down (in English or in Spanish). We got the quesabirria and duo of moles. They had a delicious coconut hibiscus mezcal cocktail special. The food was outstanding and of the folks working there are so knowledgeable and friendly. Jessica was awesome and gave us a great experience. Some of the best food we have eaten in Merida.
Brandon U — Google review
Heard great things about this restaurant. But unfortunately it didn’t live up to the hype. Food was underwhelming. Actually our worst dinner during our 4 night stay in Merida. The potatoes with cheese were not good and I kept looking for the cheese, which I never found. The food quality/size per price ratio is not good. The Mezcal was good, but again overpriced for what you got. Sorry, you can do better.
Marat N — Google review
I’m not a vegetarian, but even with that I did enjoy the food here. We tried everything on menu, which wasn’t a lot, then ordered seconds. Seating is outside and we were there just in time for a thunder storm. They set us up a table in the breezeway between the seating area and the street, which made for a nice experience.. a cooling mist from the rain falling all around!
J D — Google review
Fantastic vegetarian options. The squash quesadillas and aubergine tacos were delicious, and lovely to sit outside in the courtyard in the shade. Also really enjoyed my Pina Coco Agua Fresca.
Sarah H — Google review
Small menu, not a lot of choices. The eggplant tacos were just okay, no garnish. Soup was good but would not have been my first choice on a very hoy day.
William H — Google review
It was such a great experience to eat in Ramiro Cocina!! The daily menu was literally perfect, we were impressed by how delicious everything was! The interior is pretty nice too, and so was the service. We loved it!
Dóra P — Google review
We just happened to be walking by and thought there was a good vibe and the restaurant was small but decorated amazingly. Looked the place up and saw the food at least looked good so we decided to come back later and are so happy that we did. Very accommodating service with our baby, it started raining and they hopped into action and rushed us inside and made room in the tiny dining / bar area. Food is only written on the board and each dish was explained to us in English which is not necessary but very helpful for us. After the first couple dishes we started thinking this may be our new favorite place in Merida. The only place they fell short in MY opinion was the cocktails, a little too sweet and there was no set menus just options of liquor, juices, and fruits. The food and service made up for a lacking in cocktails so we left more than happy. We also really liked that they showed us a recipe book from their family and seemed to really care about each dish being prepared and served. 9/10 5 stars

Wayan´e is a traditional spot for taco enthusiasts with multiple locations across the city. The original one in Colonia Itzimna offers delicious tacos and tortas with various fillings such as castakan, eggs with chile xcatic, chilibuul, and more. It's recommended to arrive early for breakfast as they tend to sell out quickly.
This is the spot you’ve been looking for! Tacos were amazingggg. These are right up there with the best tacos we’ve had during our 4 trips to Mexico. Castakan con queso, pollo con chile poblano and chilibul were our favourites but all 6 tacos we had were great. Everyone was also so ridiculously nice and welcoming. Special thanks to Israel who talked us through all the options at kitchen counter and gave us a little Spanish quiz :D Muchas Gracias!

We really enjoyed our lunch here. The tacos were delicious and we tried 4 different ones - the cochinita pibil, chicken with green chorizo, tinga de res, and pork in tomato sauce. We liked them all and the provided salsas. Israel, the waiter, was so kind and nice to speak with. He showed us a few plants in the garden.

AMAZING!! The food was amazing, the tacos were amazing, everything was amazing. I recommend this place for anyone who wants a quick meal. Only had to wait a little while for the food to be ready. Not air conditioned (It's outside), but there are fans scattered around the place. Yum!! 😋😋

Without hesitation, some of the best food I've had in the peninsula. And that's stiff competition. The service was incredible, it was a pleasant atmosphere, but the breakfast tacos moved me to tears. Wonderful job, truly. Well worth the hype.

It was 40 degrees so we only got 1 taco each but it was delicious. Highly recommend as a pit stop. The staff were fantastic as well, helped us with other recommendations in Merida.

PETIT DÉLICE is a slice of France in Merida, offering exquisite pastries made with classic French techniques by Chef Celine and her team. The menu includes French toasts, sandwiches, soups, omelettes, and freshly baked bread. Located in Victory Plaza, this authentic European bakery provides a stylish atmosphere for enjoying great coffee and wonderful pastries.
Oswaldo served us today, he was so kind and friendly. Been here several times and every dish that I’ve tried is extremely delicious and you can actually taste the quality of the ingredients, the bread and pasties are freshly baked in the restaurant, they are so good as well, highly recommended!

First timer here. I looked up "creme brulee" and this place popped up. Delicious, great atmosphere, and the server was very nice and helpful. I definitely recommend this place. Feels like a peaceful french gem in the middle of a busy city. Loved it.
David T — Google review
The food was good, not spectacular, but good. We chose brunch options from the menu for our meal. Their display cases had some really beautiful looking pastries, although I didn't try them, I was full from brunch. But if I require fancy pastry again I will certainly go back to this place to try them out!! Most of the staff were very pleasant and friendly, but it needs to be said that the main waiter we had came with a high degree of attitude and it made me feel uncomfortable. We dined indoors to enjoy the air conditioning, but they also have a lovely terrace for less "intense" Merida days!

A group of us went for lunch, the food was good, staff attentive and all wore masks (?). Vegan dish was accompanied nicely with substitutes for one of us. Fine time

Cool place with really nice pastries. Amazing bread and cute vibe. Staff is really nice and the best thing is that they have a really fast service. My sister tried to use the wifi for work stuff but it was too slow so don’t come for work and just for brunch or coffee.

We actually love this place, food was delicious, the place is really nice looking, fast service i would like the waiter to check on tables to make sure everything is how supposed to be (my order was incomplete, it was still pretty good though) also just a personal opinion: it doesn't look good for them to be washing dishes in front of customers, restaurant is to nice to do that right there. Overall great place to eat good experience and i will definitely recommend it and i will definitely be going back again!

Merci Paseo 60 is a beloved spot where a Yucatecan-American chef, drawing from her French training, collaborates with her partner to present a fusion of French, American, and Mexican cuisines. This restaurant offers an all-around delightful and heartwarming experience. It's considered a personal commitment for the chef and reflects the dedication of many culinary creatives in Yucatan who are given the opportunity to showcase their personal projects within a contemporary setting.
This was a great place. We have been wanting to try it for a while and we finally made it there! Staff was friendly and attentive and there was a good selection of food on the menu. We opted for a small snack and drink because we weren't having a meal. The chocolate chip cookie was out of this world and my partner said so was the pan de chocolate! We noticed they had avocado toast on the menu which sounded delicious, so we are going to go back and have that one day soon. We didn't try their Wi-Fi but Paseo 60 itself had Wi-Fi that worked just fine. Air conditioning was working fine in the restaurant and there were options to sit outside as well.
Todd J — Google review
This place is very cute, whether you sit indoors or outdoors, the service was okay but not the friendliest. I appreciate the various breakfast options they have and the concept of it. However, the execution is lacking a bit in terms of flavour and quality. Some sandwiches had almost no filling. The chilaquiles were disappointing, no flavour imo. One of us reported stale coffee, and as others mentioned, the charge you extra for milk in your Americano. The croissant was okay, not the best but very decent. One thing we loved was the fact that they serve water first thing! French toast was a bit dry. Overall, the price was a bit expensive for what you get in terms of food, but it looks cute (instagrammable). Would I go back? Probably not, but it’s not terrible either.

Cute cafe type place. Service was pleasant, food came quickly and tasted delicious, price was affordable. My husband was thrilled with the layered flavors of his birria sandwich which even came with caldo for dipping or sipping. My fruit plate was light and refreshing as was my tonique (mint tea type drink). Also worth mentioning is that they have a special and serve breakfast until 4:30 everyday. Cocktails and coffee available too. ***update 29/09 We have been back a few times and have been delighted each time by the quality of food, the attention of staff and the consistency.

Phenomenal experience! The food was authentic and delicious, with a unique blend of Mexican, American, and French influence. I’d give more than 5 stars if I could. We also were fortunate enough to meet one of the owners/chefs (Regina) who was so helpful with some recommendations for us for the rest of our trip.
Sara R — Google review
The food was of very high quality and prepared well. I had the quesdilla and my partner egg, salad, bacon and hasbrowns, that came with extra toast that was lovely and unexpected. As a Canadian who barely eats bacon, having a crispy bacon option was first time I've eaten it in a month. Server was so kind, friendly and attentive. We will be back.

Merci is an absolute delight! This charming eatery boasts the sweetest staff, and the owners are incredibly personable. Their recommendations were spot-on, from the mouthwatering French toast to the unforgettable tuna melt. My steak sandwich was savory perfection, with perfectly toasted bread. Everything tasted fresh and made to order. A must-visit in Merida for sure!

EXCELLENT!! We have come back 3 days in a row because Merci is SO spot on with flavours and service! For brunch their bread basket is a MUST, you’ll be blown away by the QUALITY and freshness of their baked goods! The croissants are probably one of the best we’ve had. We tried their shrimp Mac and Cheese with truffle oil, it was SO flavourful and rich. Then another day we tried quiche and salmon poached eggs, both were again spot on. Their hash browns were SUPER crunchy, I’d personally like them to be softer on the inside. Overall very very impressed by this place! Coming back to this review because it’s been 4 years and we still think about this place!! 🥲 If only it wasn’t thousands of miles away

Pancho Maiz, located in the Mejorada neighborhood east of Plaza Grande, is a modest yet ambitious restaurant that serves as a welcoming corner for breakfast and lunch. The establishment is adorned with fans in every corner, retro-green-and-yellow tile floors, and a mural depicting a corn stalk holding a sleeping man, symbolizing its mission to preserve the region's sacred corn varietals.
One of our favorite dining experiences on our Yucatán Peninsula trip! The servers were sweet and attentive and food was delicious. We would definitely go back! They also sell pastries and snacks and we got a delicious maíz cake with sweet drizzled frosting. Yum.

An interesting place with good dishes, I tried the horchata latte for the first time here, although I found it too sweet and not too caffeinated, I thought it was interesting. The portions are a bit small for the price but they had a nice spread. Cute place, ok service.
Foodie H — Google review
Pancho Maíz is a true gem for anyone looking to experience authentic Yucatecan flavors in a modern yet tradition-filled setting. The restaurant beautifully blends the charm of regional culture with a contemporary touch, creating an atmosphere that feels both inviting and genuine. The cuisine is simply outstanding—every dish bursts with flavor, staying true to Yucatecan roots while being thoughtfully prepared and perfectly portioned. Prices are more than reasonable, making it a fantastic spot to enjoy high-quality food without breaking the bank. The service deserves special mention: a young, energetic, and passionate staff that not only provides warm and attentive service but also shares their deep knowledge about the origin and traditions behind each dish. This adds a unique cultural dimension to the meal, making the experience not just about eating, but about learning and connecting with Yucatán’s rich culinary heritage. It’s also a great destination for a light lunch, especially if you’re looking for a non-alcoholic meal that still feels indulgent. The serving sizes strike the perfect balance: enough to satisfy, but not overwhelming, allowing you to fully enjoy the richness of the flavors without feeling heavy afterward. In short: Pancho Maíz offers a culinary experience where tradition, modern-day tastes, and heartfelt service mingle seamlessly. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to savor Yucatecan cuisine in a perfect environment, at a great value. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Pancho Maiz is definitely one of my top three restaurants in Merida. They keep it authentic, the flavors make me happy, and the rustic ambiance provides a local feel. This place is a must & you can’t go wrong with any dish … go during breakfast & circle back for lunch!

My husband and I ate here at a whim. What a wonderful surprise! We absolutely loved everything about it. The staff was amazingly friendly and patient with our poor Spanish speaking. We tried four appetizers and every one of them left us wanting more, not because of the quantity, but because of the quality. We plan to visit them tomorrow for their breakfast! We highly suggest this place.
Jason H — Google review
This place has been on my list for years, and I'm not sure why it took us so long to visit, but I'm glad we finally did! We walked from our house, arriving around 8:30 am, and the restaurant was about half full. We got a table right under a nice fan, which was perfect. The service was prompt—we were seated and given menus right away. We both ordered cold brew coffees, and for our meals, my wife chose the huevos rancheros while I went with a pork sandwich. Both dishes were excellent, but I have to say, my sandwich was out of this world! It bacon, ham, and an egg stuffed between sourdough bread with baked cheese on top. Probably a million calories, so I’m glad I was able to walk part of it off on the 40 minute walk home. The portions were generous (my wife couldn’t even finish hers), and nicely presented. The cold brew coffee was also excellent, and the service was professional and friendly, with English spoken if necessary. Considering the quality of the food, the prices were quite reasonable, totaling $490 before tip. Credit cards are accepted. Rating: 5/5 stars

This is the best brunch place in town! It's high end food and service for a good price. A wonderful value. Their chilaquiles were beautiful and their take on papadzules was genius. We have to come back for their large pastries, which all look divine. This is definitely our go to brunch place. Five+ stars!

Rosas & Xocolate Boutique Hotel + SPA is a luxurious hotel located in the Paseo Montejo area of Merida, combining two stunning French-style mansions to create a unique accommodation experience. The rooms feature elegant decor with high ceilings, wooden furnishings, and modern amenities such as outdoor jacuzzis, BOSE sound systems, and flat-screen TVs.
I got the Deluxe Exfoliation package with a relaxing massage at the Spa and it was one of the best massages I have ever had. Tonia was amazing. She asked questions about my problem areas and really paid special attention to them. Overall, it was an amazing experience because of Tonia!

Thank you for a lovely stay at Rosas y Xocolate. Our room was right next to the pool which felt like a real treat, as we could enjoy the peaceful atmosphere just off the bustle of the Main Street. Even though there were 3 of us in the room it felt like there was plenty of space, with a separate bedroom and lounge. The staff were friendly and attentive, and patient with me trying to practise my Spanish. We really enjoyed the complementary breakfast, including a hot drink, juice, pastry, and an option from the extensive menu. I would particularly recommend the smoked salmon bagel. The location was perfect, about a 20 minute walk to the main square but lots to see closer too. This was a perfect start to our trip across the peninsula and would recommend Rosas to anyone considering a trip to Merida.

My stay at Rosas & Xocolate Boutique Hotel and Spa in Mérida was a delightful experience that left a lasting impression, thanks to its unique charm and warm hospitality. Nestled in the heart of Mérida, this boutique hotel stands out with its breathtaking architecture and distinctive style. The fusion of colonial elegance with bold pink and chocolate-hued accents creates a visually striking ambiance that feels both luxurious and whimsical. Every corner of the property, from the lush courtyard to the meticulously designed rooms, showcases a thoughtful blend of modern sophistication and Yucatecan heritage. The attention to detail in the decor—think vibrant tiles, artisanal touches, and elegant furnishings—makes it a haven for anyone who appreciates aesthetic excellence. The staff at Rosas & Xocolate deserves high praise for their friendliness and professionalism. From the moment I arrived, they were welcoming, attentive, and eager to ensure my stay was comfortable. Whether it was offering recommendations for exploring Mérida’s vibrant cultural scene or accommodating special requests, their service added a personal touch that elevated the entire experience. The on-site amenities, including the spa and the restaurant, further enhanced my stay. The restaurant, in particular, served up delicious dishes that beautifully blended local flavors with a gourmet twist, making every meal a treat. However, there was one peculiar aspect of my stay that stood out for the wrong reasons: the hotel’s deposit policy. Upon checking in, they charge a deposit, which is fairly standard, but by the end of the stay, they retain a single cent from the refund. This practice felt odd and unnecessary, and it’s something I haven’t encountered at any other hotel I’ve stayed at worldwide. While it’s a minor amount and didn’t significantly detract from the experience, it left me puzzled and slightly annoyed, as it seemed like an unusual quirk for an otherwise polished establishment.Overall, Rosas & Xocolate is a fantastic choice for travelers seeking a boutique hotel with character, style, and heart in Mérida. The stunning architecture, exceptional staff, and unique vibe make it a standout. If you can overlook the odd deposit practice, this hotel is well worth a visit for a memorable stay in the Yucatán. I’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a blend of luxury and local charm!

This is a really charming hotel in a renovated mansion on a beautiful avenue. I stayed in the master suite - it was bright and airy, had massively high ceilings, was comfortable and spotless. (I did get an upgrade and for those of you with Bonvoy status, the staff did a great job of recognizing and valuing me throughout my weeklong stay. They were helpful, courteous and attentive) Crisiant, the Sales Manager, was particularly helpful. He contacted me promptly after my booking to assist with spa appointments and suggesting and arranging excursions. His assistance was valuable in planning my visit, as I had done little to no research before booking. The hotel's location is convenient for exploring the city. Paseo de Montejo is beautiful, offered a good base for walking to many city attractions and experiencing the local area. There are so many really good restaurants and shops in easy walking distance. It's a really great choice for a more than comfortable stay in Mérida.

I came for the food and dispute all of the less than 5 star reviews, I still went. I have to say the food was fantastic!! I got the Eggs Benedict and the chef did not disappoint!!! From the perfect hollandaise and poached egg to the mimosa...Fantastic!! The service was also top shelf. I was afraid to try the coffee because of all the bad reviewers who complained about the coffee, food and service but I'll definitely try it the next time I go back. If the coffee is the only thing that some people gave bad reviews, I'll skip it!

We always stop by here to get their pear salad. The other food was very good as well.
Terry B — Google review
I've always had a rather ambivalent regard for the Pet Shop Boys. Whilst their tunes are undeniably catchy their lyrics often humorous and clever they are equally often let down by a rather laboured rhyme or a clichéd phrase. However, I've often found myself quoting the line from the song Left to My Own Devices that states "...learn to ignore what the photographer saw" and that's what you need to do at Rosas and Xocolate. Rarely has a website been so misleading. See photos. There certainly aren't any Roses and no Chocolate either 😕 😄 But let's start with the positives. The hotel staff are accommodating and polite (special mention for the breakfast server Sophie) with a comprehensive breakfast menu of decent quality and the location is very good. That's it. Now the reasons I wouldn't return. In general the hotel is unloved and poorly maintained. On arrival, the lobby had a large broken glass candle holder, the corridor had dirty glasses on the floor that remained untouched for over 24 hours and our room (the Master Suite) was tired and inadequately maintained. On arrival, the power shorted, the toilet leaked (this was fixed) the coffee maker didn't work (this too was fixed - but by turning off the refrigerator) and the bed linen faded and poor quality. The breakfast courtyard was dirty and unswept and the windows generally needed a good clean. The overall feel was one of decline and neglect which is unforgiveable in any establishment but given the prices being charged it almost amounts to theft. Read my other reviews; you'll see I'm not given to unnecessary criticism nor over reaction to a single incident of  bad service. There's another lyric from the Pet Shop Boys song Shopping that goes "...our gain is your loss, that's the price you pay". This might just sum up the Rosas and Xocolate experience. P.S. I'm honestly not a big Pet Shop Boys fan.

El Barrio is a cozy eatery in a vibrant setting, perfect for enjoying breakfast and brunch. The menu offers a diverse selection of Yucatecan comfort food with a unique twist, featuring dishes like the flavorful Gemelos and the tantalizing tamal aztec style. After savoring a delicious meal, visitors can explore the Lucas de Galvez Market to immerse themselves in local shopping experiences.
We are in Merida for 5 weeks and wanted to find something a bit different for breakfast/brunch. El Barrio was a bit of a hike, but it was well reviewed and in a neighborhood we had not explored. What a find. The food was exceptional, with fresh twists on some fairly typical dishes that made them new. We especially liked that they served salads as a side, and the greens were so fresh we thought they might have a garden out back. My wife had an omelette and I had the ranch eggs, which were similar to huevos rancheros but fresher with blue corn tortillas, onions, and a salad on top. We had a side of potatoes bravas, which were exceptional and a bowl of fruit. Service was attentive, they kept our coffee cups full, which is unusual in our experience, and everyone was young and happy to be there, adding to the experience. Great find, we wish we had found it earlier.

We found this spot on the second to the last day on our vacation in Merida. It was definitely a highlight. This was a low key mellow restaurant that started our day with the vibes for relaxation and a slower pace to enjoy the day. The service was fantastic and our server was patient and made wonderful recommendations. The coffee, latte and banana bread were incredible and I had to scrape the plate for the very last bit. I had the croque de barrio and my boyfriend had the huevos gemelos and they were fantastic! If you are in Merida near Paseo Montejo you must check this out!

I would give it 10 stars. The quality of food is outstanding. If you are looking for something tasty and healthy, try this place. The avocado toast is superb. The fruit bowl with yogurt and granola are one of the best I’ve ever had. Prices are very reasonable for portions and quality. Only 4 stars to atmosphere because it gets hot without a/c. But the cooffee and great food makes up for it. Our favorite breakfast spot in Merida.

Had breakfast here with my family. The staff was friendly but not very attentive. My husband ordered the chilaquiles but it seemed more like a burrito/nacho bowl. I ordered an omelette— the omelette really needed salt but the vinaigrette on the greens was good and the potatoes had great flavor. We also ordered a yogurt bowl which was probably the best thing I tasted— delicious. My daughters had the french toast which was also really good although the bread is cut super thick so the middle felt a bit mushy as if it had custard but tasted great. Oh! and they make an excellent latte.

This was a most excellent and pleasant surprise (initially we tried to go to Marmalade, but there was an hour plus wait). Food - Amazing. Best food I've had in Merida, bar none. It's prepared with love and presented with pride. The flavor combinations are spot on. Staff - friendly, inviting, and accommodating. Ambience - the spot is awesome. It's cute with a neighborhood vibe that's warm. Be forewarned, there is no AC and at the time we went the patron restrooms were non-operational. The vibes are on point, the people are lovely, and the food is immaculate.

The first time we came, we had dinner. The service was great. The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy. The food was so amazing we came back for breakfast. Arturo was friendly and warm. Cafetería Pop and Restaurante Pórtico del Peregrino is a Mexican diner that has been blending classic and innovative elements for 47 years. The café, founded by the visionary Dona Amira Peniche, features bold art on its walls and an orange-and-olive color palette that exudes a nostalgically retro vibe. It's a great spot to enjoy popular breakfast dishes like huevos motuleños or hotcakes while taking in the artistic ambiance.
My wife and I have been coming to this restaurant for years, and it always stands out as the best among the many breakfast spots we frequent. Adrian and Luis are our regular servers, consistently providing excellent service. The quality of the food, the cleanliness, and the peaceful back patio—our favorite spot—make this place a true gem. While I haven’t tried lunch or dinner, I can confidently say the breakfast is incredible.

If you’re in the mood for a quick breakfast and coffee fix, this place is your go-to spot. They have refillable coffee, and the food is decent, nothing fancy. The service is usually pretty quick and friendly too. You’ll notice they have old loyal customers who know the staff and enjoy hanging out there.

A nice local diner with choices of coffee, juice and a bunch of brunch dishes. It’s also open during night. Atmosphere is quiet and waiters are very patient to help non-Spanish speakers with translator. Tried Huevos motuleños and Chicken in Salsa Sauce. Complimentary French bread and white toast smells really good. They are great match with salsa. The salsa is only a little spicy. Love both! The fresh melon juice is very refreshing.

The name is wrong on these pics. It's actually Cafetería Pop, which is right next door and owned by the same people. This is the first restaurant I remember eating at in Mérida back in 1992 when I was a little kid! These days my kids and I go about once a week, and it's their absolute favorite. My 7 year old lives for their sopa de lima. The servers are the absolute best I've ever encountered, and the food is fabulous. They have standard diner fare, Mexican specialties, and a cool 1970's decor.

I love ordering club sandwiches in Mexico. You never know what you're going to get! This one was chicken salad on one side, ham cheese lettuce and tomato on the other. Toast was crispy. Nice coleslaw and a few fries. Nothing fancy, but tastes good and inexpensive.

Cafetería Impala, a historic coffee shop in Merida, has been serving customers since 1958. The restaurant's Rock N Roll ambiance and unique decor, including a striking 1950s automobile facade, offer a one-of-a-kind dining experience. With the nicest views of Merida's beautiful avenue, it is an ideal spot to enjoy classic dishes like Platillos Voladores (Flying Saucers).
Excellent breakfast. Great location. Iconic Impala car to top the outside sitting area for an old school ambiance. I liked it a lot! The service is 5 ⭐!
Dmitry K — Google review
The location and atmosphere is great. The service is poor. The waiters have a little idea of their labor. I believe that they just know serve plates and beverages. They do not offer supplemental dishes, don’t explain the menu, no suggestions at all! They serve “tortillas” in a single plate without napkins or cover at all. They hang around with other staff until you call their attention. The food presentation is good and plenty, but, no flavor at all! The price is fair!
Romance P — Google review
It clearly states, Cafeteria Impala was established in 1958 and there’s good reason why it’s still a very popular restaurant in Merida. Don’t let the kitschy retro design discourage you from enjoying the excellent service and great food. Our waiter, Raymundo was terrific. He offered great suggestions and recommendations and was very attentive. We ordered natural fruit drinks, mango and watermelon and they were able to prepare without sugar and use mineral water. Their basket of fries were also plentiful and delicious. Order their tiramisu - it’s the best. Great restaurant, great food, great service and great value. Highly recommended.

Had a great time at the restaurant Impala. Had their Burger with Angus beef and chicken tenders. Food was clean and freshly made. Would highly recommend getting the natural mango juice. Our waiter Alexander offered great service and attention. Would recommend!.
Noemi C — Google review
I ordered a very nice hamburger, with fries. It was great, but even better, to my great surprise, was my margarita. One of the best I’ve tasted here in Merida; a perfect blend of sweet and tart, and not at all water down, as many are. Start with one of those, and everything else will fall in place just fine. So kudos to the bartender. And my waiter, Gilberto. Was also excellent.
Jeffrey W — Google review
I came in for a late lunch/early dinner. They were out of some items such as turkey and a chicken plate, but that was due to a very busy few days. I ordered the Cheeseburger Montejo with fries. To drink I had their green juice and a coca-lite. They have a lot of variety on the menu but the burger caught my eyes. The food was great, the service excellent and the atmosphere was very relaxing and enjoyable.
Traveling G — Google review
We ordered the platillo with champiñones and did not have any mushrooms (Just a small pita-like bread with way too much ham). The food looked like we ordered it at a gas-station, and was quite expensive as well. Would not recommend it at all, only positive side about this place is the air conditioning.

Cafeteria Impala is perfect. Great attention and awesome food, just ate some huevos rancheros and it was delicious. Also, Hernan was always checking that everything went well. 100% recommended.

This popular brunch spot offers a variety of options for breakfast, including Huevos Motuleños, which is a local favorite. The restaurant has three different locations across Merida and all offer a unique dining experience.
Beautiful murals and overall ambience. Excellent service. I had the house special and it was delicious - I ate almost the whole thing while at the restaurant! Capuchino was great - not THE best but up there. Have someone tell you the story behind Motul, the man on the wall, and, therefore, the history of the dish Huevos Motuleños. It's like Water for Chocolate, puts more flavor and sensuality into your meal/experience. Easy to get to, right off the periférico, central as far as north/south. Noise level medium- just a lot of nice people chitchatting with friends and family.
C.A. K — Google review
Second visit it is really good and for sure a nice place to bring friends who visit YUCATÁN the dishes are the traditional ones. Great place If you are in Merida one of the places to visit they have a great variety of traditional dishes. Here are some pictures of different ones we asked for a different dish and all of them were good. The best one I would say is “huevos motuleños” really good.
Victor A — Google review
Relaxed atmosphere with soft music, delicious food and good service. A recurring stop when visiting Merida.

Delicious little place with excellent breakfast from the region. I highly recommend the huevos motuleños the quesadillas de chaya and the fried plantain with fresh cheese. Freshly made chaya water is also a must.

Great place to have breakfast with your family. Best ¨huevos Motuleños¨ in the city. I would just warn you to come in early, because a lot of people love eating here and it gets full, specially on weekends. Bonus points: they bring your food very fast, so I´d recommend this place if you´re EXTRA hungry!

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience in Merida, look no further than Merci - Homemade Food. This charming eatery is celebrated for its seasonal breakfast and lunch offerings, with a particular emphasis on their weekend brunch that draws both locals and visitors alike. Nestled in Plaza San Angelo, Merci boasts an impressive menu inspired by European cuisine, featuring everything from homemade English muffins topped with eggs benedict to mouthwatering French toast and artisanal sandwiches.
Simple and classy. I took a late picture of the fruit and oat plate but wow were the fruits ever flavorful and ripe. Beautiful breakfast spot with delicious baked goods, the best cappuccino I've had in Mexico, delicious tocino burger, next time I wanna try maybe French toast or pancakes and I should bring my own maple syrup from Canada haha. My friend ordered the sanwich merci, it was delicious when adorned with some habanero sauce. Very very good. All the food was very photogenic including the avocado toast adorned with radish. Amazing breakfast place. They're baked good and coffees are so good.

The food is outstanding, with a variety of homemade dishes that are fresh, flavorful, and made with care. Every dish is prepared with a personal touch, and you can truly taste the love and attention that goes into every bite. Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty meal or a lighter option, there’s something for everyone. And let's not forget about the coffee – it’s fantastic! Rich, aromatic, and perfectly brewed, it’s the ideal complement to any meal. If you're a coffee lover, this is definitely the place to be. The service was friendly and attentive, making my visit even more enjoyable. I will absolutely be back to Merci for both the delicious food and the great coffee. Highly recommended!

We arrived first thing in the morning for breakfast. This was a charming place for my family of 6. They had a baby chair, the women's restroom had a baby changing table and my toddler could walk inside happily. The frozen smoothies were excellent and refreshing. We ordered the pineapple ( water smoothie) and mango yogurt and milk smoothies. The food was excellent and the pancakes even had a maple syrup option. The coffee choices were great as well.

The breakfast plates were so delicious we made it a point to visit twice for our 4 day vacation. We would’ve made it three days but they were closed on Sunday! An outstanding restaurant…everything I’ve tried from breakfast, lunch and dinner items has been delicious. Plus, the service is fantastic. They really stand out in Merida because they have been consistent in food quality and service every time I have gone there. The breakfast experience here was fantastic sitting under one of the red umbrellas! I ordered the omelette with mushroom and cheese. I avoided the refried beans though because they make it with lard. I got some potatoes instead. And these potatoes were seasoned perfectly with herbs! The waiter was very helpful to help navigate the menu to avoid pork ingredients and provide access to wifi. Highly recommend this spot.

Nestled just a few blocks north of Parque Santa Ana, Pan & Køf.feé is the perfect spot to kickstart your day with a delightful breakfast. This charming bakery and coffee house boasts an inviting ambiance, featuring updated colonial decor complemented by contemporary elements like a sleek steel staircase leading to additional seating on the second floor. The spacious dining areas—both upstairs and downstairs—are adorned with stunning interior design that encourages you to relax while savoring freshly baked pastries or enjoying a cup of coffee.
We visited this cafe twice. It was amazing! The vibes are super nice and so is the staff. The coffee, especially the Mocha was really good. A must try here! We chatted a little with the owner who was in-house that day and she was very friendly. It’s a great place to come if you need to take some time off the Merida heat. There is also free wifi in case you want to work or just kill time.

This is such a cozy spot! The inside is super comfy, with great WiFi and AC, perfect for getting some work done. I brought my laptop and felt right at home. The food was really good and made with all organic, natural ingredients, which I loved. Their coffee options are super unique, and they even have non-coffee drinks if that’s more your thing. The pastries were fresh and tasty, and the staff was super friendly. Definitely a new favorite spot!

This is one of the most westernised cafes you’ll find in Mérida. However the space is beautiful and the food is really good! Everyone working there is super helpful. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a nice breakfast with toasts and oats! Nice selection of pastries too

Every time we’re in Mérida, we find ourselves at Pan y Coffee at least twice a week. Their pastries are unbeatable. The croissants are perfectly flaky, and the Pastéis de Belém (a larger version of the Portuguese classic Pastéis de Nata) is an absolute must try, truly to die for! Breakfast is just as good, from flavorful chilaquiles to a delicious American-style breakfast with bacon and sausage. Great coffee, friendly staff, and a cool, relaxed atmosphere make this place a standout. It belongs at the top of your list in Mérida for coffee, pastries, and brunch.
Deena L — Google review
Not only is this cafe beautiful and intimate, but the food and coffee are out-of-this-world good. I’ve already gone multiple times on my trip to Mérida, and nothing has disappointed or fallen short. The staff is also very friendly and willing to assist. A must-visit while here!

Pan & Koffee is the coolest atmosphere with incredible food and the friendliest staff! I came in for the morning and after to do some remote work and get some food and cold drinks. The fresh squeezed guava juice was lovely on such a hot day. The breakfast sandwich had great flavors and was the perfect fuel I needed for my afternoon. And as someone who just wants to have a cool experience at places I visit, this checked all the boxes! The interior design creates the most beautiful, earthy atmosphere, the music is so fun to listen to while you work, and the space is HUGE, allowing you to experience the space from different perspectives. I highly recommend Pan & Koffee!

Staying a week in Merida visiting a friend for work and vacation. With my first time in Merida, Pan and Koffee Cafe has been a daily morning stop for breakfast and lunch. The breakfast pastries are amazing and always a good start to the day. Coffee has been perfect. For lunch the food, all the items I ordered had a great freshness to them. This is the best coffee shop. Not only do they make phenomenal coffee drinks, but their food and service are incredible. It's definitely the best coffee shop I've been too.

Great coffee, reasonable prices. While mostly any coffee here is too light in taste (as everyone uses too much water), for me as a European there’s always something missing. The coffee they served was great in taste and enough for my needs. The staff there is nice and helpful as well.

Hacienda Xcanatun, part of the Angsana Heritage Collection, is a luxurious 18th-century hacienda transformed into an upscale hotel in Mexico. The property features a stunning outdoor pool and a top-notch spa offering rejuvenating treatments inspired by ancient Mayan practices. Guests can indulge in delectable French-Caribbean cuisine with Yucatan influences at the Casa de Piedra restaurant while enjoying the charming veranda setting.
We were warmly greeted and accommodated. Our room was charming and felt like home. The property is well maintained and gorgeous! From the seashell filled tiles to the hidden air conditioned registers this structure was beautifully architected. The staff are exemplary and above standard in my opinion regarding the hospitality industry.

This is my second time staying at this hotel and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff are very customer focused, and provided amazing service. The new pool is really well designed and I very much appreciated there was an adults only pool that would provide a more peaceful environment. Highlight at the end was the staff was quick to check our room to see if we forgot anything when checking out, and I did manage to leave my charger. Those little things make a huge difference to your vacation.
Patrick G — Google review
Had the best time staying here. Hotel staff was wonderful and we really enjoyed the place. We only had 2 small issues 1. the advertise 3 pools, in reality only the big new pool can be used to swim as the other two are a bit unkept and lots of debris, dead bugs etc floating around but quite nice if you want to be by the pool but not in the pool. 2. the second thing is the fact that we didn’t know construction was going on. They’re building lots of apartments in the property (90+) right by the main pool, which kinda was a bummer, really takes away from the boutique hotel experience we wanted, nevertheless the real issue is the noise! Obviously construction work is loud so when only one pool is nice and clean to swim in, and the environment is loud, well, it wasn’t ideal. The room was lovely, the staff amazing and caring. Location for us was perfect as we wanted something between beach and city so it was ideal, but you’ll either need a car or Uber a lot. Definitely loved our stay. Sad to know it won’t be a boutique hotel anymore tho.
Maria T — Google review
I really enjoyed my stay at Hacienda Xcanatun. It is lovely and lush with greenery. The room was comfortable and large with an outdoor patio. Breakfast and dinner were all very tasty and room service was the same quality. The gym on site is great with a sizable amount of equipment and in a beautiful setting. The pool is also lovely although it is currently surrounded by local outside of the hotel unfortunately. There are a ton of rooms and there is not much like it in the area if you need a larger number of spots together for a group like we did. The downside is the area surrounding it does not have anything and it is a good 20 min ride into Merida to get to other restaurants etc. If you are looking for a place for a group or a spot for some R&R, it's great.
Joanie A — Google review
First time staying here. Two adults and a 15mo toddler. We had a wonderful stay! The property is ~25 mins away from the Airport, Downtown Mérida, and Progresso beach - so plan to Uber, drive, or have transportation. We drove and it was easy and free parking. If you’re walking impaired make sure and state so when reserving - there are a lot of steps in certain areas. Service - 10/10 Could not be better. Everyone amazing to our family from the moment we arrived till we drove away. It was an absolute pleasure & they did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. Even left surprise birthday cake for me ❤️ Hotel - 9.7/10 Amazing property. Felt like being in a jungle. We had a suite and it was quite large. Some construction at back of property but it was minimal. Had daily activities. Pool was great. Loved it! Restaurant- 6/10 😔 hurts me to say but we did not have best food experience at the restaurant. Staff was amazing and attentive, no issues at all with them. But food quality and taste was just not what I come to expect from Mexico. Wasn’t bad, just wasn’t necessarily great. We ate there three times and each had an element that was a bit below average (pork belly too much fat, octopus tostada not very good). The good is that the vegetables, bread, tortillas, butter and jams were some of the best we’ve ever had!! Plus they had a vegetarian menu for my wife which was very helpful Overall we’d absolutely return here and had an excellent stay. I think if they could just get the restaurant food a bit better, it’d make this place even better! Thank you to the staff for hosting us and taking such good care of us 🙏🏾🙏🏾

This resort should be removed from the luxury list. This is not a luxury resort. This is not even a resort. It is a mediocre hotel. The food was it fresh. The fruit was at least a day or two old when we got it. Customer service was horrific. We waited 60 minutes for eggs and French toast. We finally got up and left, and they still made us pay for it. We had one stand for a two person room when we asked the front desk about why we couldn’t get another stand on the other side. They said that that was how the room came . So we used our suitcase as our other nightstand see in photos . The light in the closet kept falling off. I actually asked him to fix it several times, that never happened. I was trying to fix it myself because we could not close the sliding closet door with the broken lights that kept falling . The coffee area the tray kept falling off. It was broken. There is NO smart TV, false advertisement! This was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. The outside property itself was nice. The chef for the restaurant should be fired, and the staff should be trained not to say yes when they don’t understand.

It’s funny. I saw some of the negative reviews this morning. But arriving here, I made a decision to come and it was a little bit empty when I got there so I had the opportunity to chat to the two baristas who were here. And it was delightful. Wonderful conversation. Wonderful recommendations because as you can guess they have a lot of options. They also do some blends which are always exciting when you come to a new coffee shop. I came away 100% happy and satisfied and highly recommend. Also, this would be a good place to buy coffee to take back to your home country. They have a selection from all of the coffee producing states and I can tell you that they know how to roast coffee.

Western styled cafe in Mérida. They serve good coffee from México. A lot of options for your beans and methods. When you are tired of Méxican styled coffee, this place will be your good refresher. They have changing spots and strong wife. Worth to visit.

A special place in the heart of Mérida. Very good coffee if you're on a quest and a wide choice for everyone. We also found good bakery stuff. And a nice vibe. Owned by two brothers, they buy the coffee beans directly from Mexican farmers, even small batches. They roast and prepare it with great results. My wife and I came back the day after. Very recommended.

Great coffee, nice atmosphere, good internet. The place is nice for getting some work done, even though the internet isn’t really stable all the time. The coffee and other drinks are freshly prepared and good in taste. While the atmosphere of quite calm, there is not too much space and depending on the time you come, getting a seat is hard. Apart from that, I can definitely recommend it.

EVERYTHING HERE IS TOO GOOD. I highly recommend you to try out their classical cold brew and the chicken brocheta. Especially the brocheta… only 140+ pesos for this good combination of creamy yet crispy texture, and the sense of fulfillment after the whole plate. And the service, vibe, price is all very good. Would definitely come again

We have our breakfast here. Andres, our server was excellent. Service was good, fast, precise, and welcoming. Food was well cooked and well presented. We had avocado toast, omelet, yogurt granola bowl, juice. Coffee was tasty. Music is well selected, and whole place has a an italian chill vibe.

This lovely spot on Parque Santa Lucía was excellent! Their daily drink special is 2x1 Aperols Spritzes, so a great way to begin a meal. There is an outdoor patio, and also a stylish indoor dining room, which I preferred. I came here with a friend and ate pizzas, and we so enjoyed the food and experience we decided to return for a second night. Pizzas were brilliantly cooked in a wood oven and paired with a bottle of wine made a great meal. We shared a house salad - super fresh with a excellent vinegar-forward dressing. I usually like to try different restaurants when travelling, but in this case wanted to return. The second meal did not disappoint! We shared a Cesár salad and order pastas, all of which were delicious. The wine list offers a great varierty of wines from across the globe. If I lived in Mérida, I would dine here at least once a week!

Not only was the food authentic and delicious, the staff was professional, and despite such a busy night (after the parade of cantrinas), the wait was barely noticeable. Best tacos I’ve had in Mexico so far!! Wow!! The salsa is the perfect amount of spicy-hot and the flavors are amazing. Beef is cooked perfectly and the tortillas are fresh. Service is good.

Solid food though all in all I was not impressed by “comida yucateca”. My wife and I tried Relleno negro and Pollo pibil, the latter being much better. But certainly the best was delicious soup Sopa de lima which we both adored. Huge portion. Excellent service. Nice atmosphere, not super clean and new restaurant but one feels well and relaxed there. Very decent prices.
Dimitrije S — Google review
Not the best but definitely not bad. We went twice in a week because we felt it tasted good and was well priced given the location and area. The sopa the lima is good but we definitely had better. Same with panuchos and salbutes. Cochinita pibil was pretty tasty but could be smokier. Flan was only ok. Too bad because it looked very good. Suggestion: save your stomach and go get yourself marquesitas or ice cream outside instead. Special mention to the nacho and guacomole. Great serving size and creamy guacamole. We really enjoyed it. Special shout out to the freshly pressed fruit drinks. They were pretty good too. Beers are actually fairly priced. The service was great. Took orders rapidly and came back often to check on us. Note about atmosphere: if sitting close to toilets bothers you then avoid the tables closest to toilets.

Wayan'e is a popular Yucatan-style taco house with 30 years of tradition, known for its delicious and varied menu. While the smaller location offers fewer vegetarian options, it still provides incredible service and tasty tacos. The restaurant is recommended by locals and visitors alike for its mouthwatering dishes, such as the pork belly sandwich and liver taco. It's also praised for its refreshing lime drink.
These are by far the best morning lunch tacos you can never come and try so many options so much flavor and the service is always incredible. 100% recommended.

This place used to be outstanding and I honestly feel they’re going downhill, the only thing that’s still really good is the castacán with cheese torta, this is a personal opinion of course but to me all of the other options are just not up to the standards they used to have. My girlfriend ordered papa con chorizo tacos and they were cold and looked like a paste, also the service was not that good, only one young lady was kind, the rest didn’t seem to be willing to be there. I hope they go back to what they used to be.

The best tacos in the city. If you want the tastiest taco, get the tacos Castakan for $22 pesos each! So yummy, you will not regret it and you will end up here every morning if you're not careful. The Yucatecos will tell you Sunday is for Cochinita Pibil but I personally favour the Tacos de Castakan con Queso and make sure you ask for limón.

Went here for dinner for both days we stayed at the Hyatt. The first day - 7th - the service was so great, I'd have easily given it 4 stars for the service. But the second night on the 8th was a very forgettable experience. 7th - a lady was the host who went above and beyond to take care of us. She got what we requested and helped communicate our orders to the waiters to get everything right. The coriander soup was ok but then that's how I feel about creamy soups. My daughter liked it and that is all that mattered to me. The pizza was all liquidy and I thought I won't like it. But it was simply amazing. Almost one of the best margherita pizzas I've ever had. 8th - the waiter seats us. The host is chatting away in a group by the kitchen and didn't even come greet us. The waiter took the order after struggling to understand us. Inevitably he got one order wrong. I asked for vegetarian sandwich. He got a club sandwich with all the works. I don't blame the guy. He couldn't understand me. The host didn't do his job. Then came the fettuccine Alfredo we ordered. It was supposed to be cheese with basil sauce. There was not even a hint of basil. When we called and asked the host, he got us chopped basil. It was when we explained again that he finally offered pesto sauce. But we were tired already and asked for the order to go. Cooks seem to be talented. The open kitchen helps see how they're doing. But they need to do things faster and correctly.

The attentive and cordial service provided by the staff enhances the dining experience further. Additionally, customers have praised their breakfast options, highlighting the tasty food and warm atmosphere. It's worth noting that one drawback is that they only accept cash as payment.
We were pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. It’s hidden away from the areas we usually visit in Merida. It was well worth the walk. They didn’t accept credit card but they did accept USD. Our poor Spanish speaking wasn’t a problem! Very comfortable, clean, and professional. The food tasted as good as it looked! Highly suggested.

10/10 - Try this place out. I will return every time I'm in Merida. Best meal I've had in Merida - and I've been in town for two weeks. The flavors were great, the service was great... I only wish I had visited sooner. Be certain to note the operating hours - opens early and closes early. I made a concerted effort to break away from work and enjoy a late lunch of the Wednesday special of Poc Chuc and a Sopa de Lima. The meat of the Poc Chuc was perfect to eat as it's own piece or as an addition to the tortillas that come with the special. The Lima soup was nice and even on a hot day I didn't feel overwhelmed with heat. Hands down the best I've experienced in Merida. Congrats to the wonderful owners and staff for creating a wonderful neighborhood destination for authentic Yucatan dishes. I hope this helps. Always on the hunt for new breakfast spots, my wife and I decided to check out this Manifesto location for our bi-weekly breakfast outing. The restaurant is located in a peaceful part of Colonia Mexico, surrounded by trees. The building itself is modern and stylish, with a koi pond and fountain at the entrance that sets a relaxing tone. There is an indoor dining area and a pleasant outdoor patio. We weren’t sure about the mosquito situation, so we opted to sit inside. Menus were brought quickly, and our waitress returned right when we were ready to order. The coffee menu includes the usual espresso based options as well as several cold brews and frappes. The breakfast menu is also fairly typical with egg dishes, waffles, and chilaquiles. I ordered a large 16oz Americano espresso, which was probably the best coffee I’ve had in Mérida - very strong and full of flavor. My wife really enjoyed her cold brew as well. For breakfast, I had an omelet stuffed with serrano ham - excellent, though a sharper knife would’ve made it easier to cut. My wife enjoyed her chilaquiles. Service was attentive and friendly Overall, it was a great place for relaxing breakfast. The coffee was out of this world good, and prices were reasonable - our two dishes and two coffees came to $515 MXN before tip. It’s on our list of places to return.

Nice location in a mid-century modern style building. We didn't eat anything here so I can't rate the food. The selection of drinks was good, and we enjoyed the cold drinks we ordered. If we come back we will try sitting in the courtyard instead of inside, unfortunately we found the seating indoors to be very uncomfortable and we didn't want to stay. The service was very good here though.

Delicious lunch. Smoked pierna, mozzarella, spinach, tomato and avocado. The bread was warm and tasty. We both finished the side salad. Sat outside in the lovely garden. The concrete bench was hard. We don't even feel guilty that we bought baked goods to go.

Wonderful neighborhood cafe/breakfast place! The avocado toast and hummus toast were delicious and the coffees were next level. Amazing and calm atmosphere. The staff were also super kind. Five stars!

Great place, highly recommend it. The coffee is high quality, the desserts and breakfast were good. There is even a way to ask like drive thru, the inside is super cute, staff super friendly. I was there working the whole Sunday and everything was fine. That chai latte was delicious. The garden is super nice.

Cafe located in a peaceful Colonial Mexico area. It is a remodeled house, and it is comfortable because there are seats both inside and in the yard. It is crowded during weekend brunch time. There are a variety of cold brew drinks with various options, so it's good to choose and drink.

Breakfast restaurant
This restaurant promotes the healthy green trend, with all of its products being 100% natural and carefully selected. It is open for breakfast and lunch, and its staff are attentive and knowledgeable about the food.
The photo is of the delicious chicken sandwich. I was happy that something so healthy could be so tasty . The sandwich could have used a condiment to make it less dry. My husband's chicken burger was full of flavor. He started eating before I could photograph it. His ice cream was very good. My cake was not very flavorful. We will return.

I came to the restaurant with the anticipation of a great veggie burger. Ultimately, that is not what I ordered. Things were hit and miss. Started with the entrada of atun, which looked great on the menu photo...a nice slice of tuna on a flat bread. What we received was bits of tuna on a cracker...not quitexthe same thing. I ordered the hamberguesa de pollo con tecino. Not a chicken burger, but a thin chicken breast. It was tasty, thanks to the bacon and cucumber. It cdme with veggie chips, which were stale. If you feel the need for something 'healthy', give it a try. I will not be returning.

Amazing food, so many things we want to try on the menu. Love that they use whole grain tortillas for certain dishes. Excellent service and prices are reasonable. We will be back again and again!

I took the salad and it was a huge disappointment. Raw peppers, raw cucumber, raw red cabbage, raw kale and no dressing (despite the menu saying it has). This is not only flavourless but it’s also very hard to digest. The menu doesn’t say it’s all raw. Took a juice that was fine and left with a 250 mxn bill (almost $15 usd) feeling hungry. Very expensive for the quality. Maybe other dishes are better but a salad with raw veggies (no flavour), no dressing and not filling at all when it’s titled as a “bowl” is insulting. The staff was amazing. Very courteous and helped me find a great booth where I can charge. Also had a great dining area with A/C. If only the food was good I would come all the time.

The Starbucks in Paseo Montejo is a great place to work, thanks to its outlets and free WiFi. The coffee tastes okay, but the atmosphere and location are both quite nice.
Really enjoy going to Starbucks in different countries. The food choices are different and I have loved the food outside of the US. All the employees were really nice and efficient, drinks tasted great and the store was clean. Chocolate donut was amazing!

Like a Hilton Curio Hotel, this Starbucks is housed in a beautiful and historic house on Paseo Montejo, and has lots of seating; outside and in two rooms on the second floor. Staff are friendly and very efficient. Apple Pay is accepted. Wonderful spot for coffee!

One of the cutest Starbucks I’ve ever been to. I loved the space… I loved the outdoor space which is pretty cool and makes it really nice. I also liked the different common spaces inside with AC. It is always packed :( but generally speaking, it’s a very nice place in a great location. This Starbucks has parking 🅿️
Diego P — Google review
I recently visited the Starbucks located in one of the most touristic areas of Mérida, Yucatán, and I was extremely disappointed. Despite its prime location, the place was shockingly dirty and clearly neglected. Tables were sticky, trash was left on the floors, and the restrooms were in terrible condition. For a café in such a prominent spot, you would expect better standards of cleanliness and maintenance. It’s unfortunate that such a well-known brand isn’t keeping up with basic hygiene in a city that welcomes so many visitors. Definitely not a good representation of Mérida’s charm.

I came at 8pm on a Tuesday and the patio was packed, inside was packed! It was my first time here and just wanted to grab a quick bite. It seemed a very social place (friends to come and hang out). The service wasn’t the fastest but they were also very busy. Nice and polite staff. Perfect wrap. No complaints.

Really cool location in a large colonial style house. First Starbucks I've been to with valet parking which made me laugh but it is a busy street. It stays open late which is nice. They have indoor seating upstairs or outdoor seating in a large patio.
Fiorella C — Google review
This is the slowest Starbucks ever, mostly because the person working both times I visited was busy talking to her friends or hugging her workmates. She also messed up my order. One visit it was a 25 minute wait to get my coffee.
Alison S — Google review
Lovely Starbucks Villa overlooking the main street of P de Montejo. They offer both outside settings outside and inside and a drive behind the villa to park your car in a large parking lot. Me coming from Dubai I get to discover new flavors of what Sta Mexico has to offer and I have to say the Coco Avellana Machiato is so good! Definitely recommend that and for a morning or afternoon bite Definitely recommend the Baguette Espanola. Expect some que in the mornings, so if you're in a rush try to head abit earlier.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience in Merida, look no further than Cate de mi Corazón. Nestled in the heart of Centro and San Antonio Cucul, this charming café offers an array of dishes that celebrate the beloved avocado. One standout is their unique Falafel Burger, which features a flavorful patty nestled between two creamy avocado halves and topped with hummus and a zesty cilantro-lime sauce—perfect for breakfast or lunch!
Without a doubt, an excellent option for breakfast. Since changing my diet, it has been difficult to find a place where I feel like I can eat most of the menu. This restaurant is a great choice for people with dietary restrictions or alternative diets that avoid wheat flour, meats, and other specific foods. Food & Menu One of the highlights of this place is its dynamic menu, which offers a variety of delicious options that cater to different dietary needs. There are plenty of great choices, and it’s exciting to try something different, like the rice flour pancakes absolutely delicious! The syrup pairs well with everything, and when I say everything, I mean every single item on the sweet menu. For those who don’t eat meat, there are excellent options available, ensuring that everyone can find something satisfying and flavorful. Drinks & Service The drinks are creative and delicious. I was pleasantly surprised by the green juice not only was the presentation outstanding, but the taste was extraordinary as well. It’s clear that a lot of thought goes into crafting each beverage. The service was phenomenal from everyone on the staff. They were attentive and made sure we had water at all times, which is something you truly appreciate in Mérida’s heat. Ambiance & Comfort The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with thoughtful details that make the space feel warm and inviting. One detail we particularly loved was the germinating avocado pits placed on the tables it’s a small touch, but it adds to the overall charm of the place. The furniture is comfortable, making it a great option not only for breakfast but also for those who work remotely and want a change of scenery from home. It’s an ideal spot for anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing and productive morning. In conclusion, this is a fantastic place for breakfast and a great spot to spend a pleasant time. Whether you’re looking for a delicious and inclusive menu, outstanding service, or a cozy and inspiring environment, this place delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended!

La 70 is a hidden gem in Merida, perfect for those seeking a cozy and local breakfast experience away from the bustling tourist crowds. The standout feature here is their incredibly fluffy pancakes, but don’t miss out on traditional Yucatecan dishes like Huevos Motulenos—crispy tortillas topped with refried beans and fried eggs in a savory tomato sauce.
We enjoyed a great lunch experience at La 70 waiting for our ADO bus. The menu is extensive with fair prices and well plated meals. Topped with excellent, kind service and an overall friendly, chilled vibe. We can happily recommend visiting LA 70 for a great dining experience.

Excellent place to eat or just have a coffee. Very nice atmosphere. From the outside you wouldn’t think how nice and pleasant it is inside. The menu provided a nice variety tasty looking options. Our waitress, Erika offered some of their recommended specialties which we appreciated. We went for breakfast and we were very happy with the presentation, quality and taste. We ordered a pitcher of Chaya with pineapple and it was refreshing. We saw a lot of non-locals arriving as well - speaks volumes of the restaurants word-of-mouth reputation. We’re visiting Merida from Los Angeles and were told we had to try LA 70 and we’re glad we did! Highly recommend for the value, service, hospitality and great food.

Don't be fooled by the looks of the entrance...the patio area is nice and comfortable. The service is excellent. They have a wide variety of food and drinks. I ordered lunch from here almost everyday during my visit to Merida - to dine in and to carry out. The prices are reasonable. Wi-Fi is reliable. The only minor recommendation would be for them to offer fresh coffee (they only have the pod coffee made in a machine). All and all, I highly recommend this place.

What a marvelous surprise! We stopped to eat only because it was across the street from the hardware store we were going to. I sm so happy we stopped! Drinks were cold, food was great...i will be returning. The chaya with pineapple is so refreshing! The sopa de verduras could have used a bit of salt, but it was really nice. The pollo pibil was succulent and perfect for lunch.

food took forever and the quality of food was very poor. we ended up taking food to go due to the fact that it took a long time. when we got it, i took one bite of my dish and threw the entire thing out. didn't taste fresh nor was it high quality. think they have a turnover issue. staff was friendly but couldn't make up for speed of food or quality. would not recommend d.

We went for breakfast and it was pretty good. The wide courtyard in the property sandwiched between a house and the restaurant storefront had been turned into terrace seatings with each table underneath a giant parasol. Murals were around as well, making it for a very nice atmosphere to start the day. This would make for a good place to spend the morning while waiting for an ADO bus, whose terminal is just one block away. This was exactly what we did. The food wasn’t as plentiful in volume, given the price, but the quality made up for it.
ARBN — Google review
Decent food and coffee, but the service was lacking. A bit of a wait to take our orders and then again to bring the food/drinks (drinks were given to the wrong persons). Not sure what the "commission" charge was when we paid the bill, most places in Merida includes taxes. Overall we enjoyed the food, but one visit was enough, no need to return.

My husband and I came here for coffee in the morning, I decided on a pastry which was really delicious. My husband had as well, I paid and while he was looking at the menu decided he wanted to have one of their full breakfasts. We had not received our pastries or coffee when he asked if he could change his order. He would have had to pay considerably more, which we were fine with, they refused, that was very disappointing. Both pastries were very good, the coffee was okay. The staff were as a whole very lovely and friendly, but we didn't go back the rest of the week. Still confused as to why say no to more money.

This charming spot not only serves exceptional brews but also roasts its own beans sourced from Mexico, particularly Veracruz. The passionate staff truly elevate the experience, ensuring each cup reflects their love for coffee. As someone who considers themself to be something of a coffee connoisseur, I will say that this is excellent coffee.

I visited this place at noon because I was in the mood for a coffee. I ordered a coffee and asked for a glass of water to go with my drink. In every café around the world, it’s common knowledge that coffee should be served with a glass of water, especially in a city as hot as hell as Mérida. The girl at the counter told me that if I wanted water, I had to buy a bottle. I told her it wasn’t about the money, but as a courtesy, they should serve it. I also tried to buy a bag of ground coffee and pay by card, but the machine wasn’t working. I ended up without having my coffee, without drinking water, and without taking any coffee home. I do not recommend this place at all. Not unless they understand that water is a human right and not a commodity.

We have gone to enough cafes and roasteries enough to sense the passion from their products and their staff. This place has terrific staff who loves their coffee. We ordered a frap at 50mxp as we needed something to cool off. Even when it is a frap we can taste the coffee and espresso used to make it and was not overwhelmed by the ice and milk. I don't know about meat eaters but for vegans this place is a joke. The portion sizes are SO small. They charge a lot for a smoothie bowl and my 2yr old toddler was still hungry afterwards that's how small the portion size was. Also, the vegan pancakes tasted like they were way too generous with the amount of baking soda that they put it and the customer service isn't that great either. I've been here twice and will not be returning.

But this place is clearly about having a cutesy Instagram-worthy-pink-everything-up-to your eyeballs experience than the actual food. Photo of my plate was sad + took about 30-45mins to make and about 6 bites to finish. Not worth it at all. Afterwards, we were left hungry + decided to go to SOCO Merida just a couple of blocks away. 100x better + worth it.

Menta y Rosa is a super cute restaurant with a great central location near Paseo de Montejo. The menu offers a balance of sweet and savory options. Omelettes, waffles, sandwiches, and many other items are available for your pleasure. Get here early! I visited two different time during my last visit and the door never stopped opening with new visitors while we were dining. Make a stop here and try it for yourself!

Chill-Akil Centro is a modern and air-conditioned restaurant located in Plaza Luxury, offering a variety of culinary options. The ambiance is described as pleasant and the menu features delicious dishes such as Quesadillas with local meat, avocado, onion, and more. Additionally, the grilled cheese sandwich is mentioned as a simple yet satisfying option. Visitors also praise the attentive service from staff members like Isela who provided excellent service despite language barriers.
Chill - Akill is a chilaquiles restaurant, though it has other offerings. Mostly this is famous for build your own chilaquiles. The service was really great, and amiable. We got to talking with another couple in the restaurant, and the waiter was just patient waiting for us to finish the conversation before taking our order. The food was really well seasoned, and tasty. The portions sizes are large, and we ended up with leftovers that unfortunately we couldn't take home because we were going on to a museum. Keep in mind that if you're going for breakfast, consider sharing plates because you could always order more. You really don't want leftovers with you. They had the traditional ham, cheese, eggs, and peas dish that the region is known for as well as over 10 different types of chilaquiles. this is not haute cuisine, it is good comfort food done well. It is worth a stop if your vacationing and Merida for breakfast. I believe that there are two or three Chil-Akil, but they are not really fast food chains. It seemed very homey and local, both in food, atmosphere, and service.
Begona C — Google review
Chill-Akil Centro is a nice and lovely place for breakfast and brunch. The atmosphere is lively, though it can get quite noisy at times, so it might not be the best choice if you’re looking for a quiet meal. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable, which makes it a solid option for a casual outing. Also, the service is great. As for the food, it’s decent but nothing extraordinary. The chilaquiles, while enjoyable, were a bit of a letdown in terms of consistency and flavor—definitely lacking that authentic Mexican touch. The overall flavors seem adjusted to cater to a broader palate, which might not satisfy those seeking traditional or extraordinary tastes. In summary, it’s an average breakfast and brunch spot with a convenient location, but don’t go expecting an authentic Mexican culinary experience! 👍🏼

My partner and I had a very lovely brunch at this restaurant in Mérida during our trip to Mexico in April. This stop was part of the day we devoted to explore Mérida and its centra neighbourhoods and indeed, the atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely and conveys a fresh and young vibe. The food is tasty and respects the traditions of the Yucatàn food with a sparkle of international touch. The French toast had also bacon in it which for us was uncommon but we liked it! The service was on the spot and our water was very attentive to our needs. Overall, we recommend trying this restaurant: our brunch was lovely!

Had a wonderful breakfast here. Isela was a very attentive waitress. Between her little English and my little Spanish, I managed to order my husband 2 eggs over easy with bacon and refried beans - no corn tortillas thank you. My hotcakes and bacon were delicious and plentiful. Coffee was very good and included one free refill. Service was excellent. We didn't wait long for our food. I would definitely go back.

Delicious. I came by because it wasn't far from my Airbnb and was very surprised. Ambiente was air conditioned, modern and looks really nice. Had my Brunch there. I ordered Quesadillas (forgot the name) which was amazing. With some local meat and Avocado, Onion and more. It comes in a bowl. Really good, tasteful. The side dish was the grilled cheese sandwich. Nothing too special, toast with egg and cheese. For the food you will get some sauces in mini bowl to choose from. It goes from mild to spicy. All in all I had an amazing breakfast for around 370$ Pesos. To be fair, I had basically two meals. I'd come again. Pricing and amount more than fair.

Awesome place for breakfast or lunch. I am working my way through all the chilaquiles and could go here regularly without getting tired of it. Service is friendly and the restaurant is cute but fairly minimalist. One of my favorite places to eat!

Extremely great chilaquiles! Very well made, with generous portions. And the service, well... The service was absolutely wonderful. Our waitress was very kind and offered to speak english. That gesture always stands out to me. She gave me directions to the AutoProgreso bus station. I will be happy to visit these people again 😁

Hacienda Santa Cruz is an elegant hotel housed in a Colonial-style building, offering a luxurious experience in Mexico. The 18th-century hacienda has been transformed into a stunning luxury hotel with an outdoor pool and a spa that offers beauty and wellness treatments inspired by ancient Mayan relaxation techniques. Guests can indulge in delicious French-Caribbean-Yucatan fusion cuisine at the Casa de Piedra restaurant while enjoying the charming veranda.
We had our wedding here this last weekend and it was absolutely fantastic! The setting, the restaurant, the staff, the rooms, the spa. A big shout out to Guillermo, who was very present and reachable throughout the time we were there. They really had the grounds looking great leading up to the event, and they met our expectations in almost every way. I found the staff very trusting. All of our guests who stayed there were thrilled with the experience. I only wish we had more time there.

Former hacienda, now converted to boutique hotel and event space. Lovely grounds, the whole place well- maintained. I was there for a day-long yoga retreat. We occupied one of the casitas and a large covered veranda. Food was excellent. 2 pools. Grounds are large and bicycles are available to pedal about. It is about 20-25 minutes from Centro Merida. Easily accessible by car, taxi or Uber. Was told they are often the site of concerts.

Visited the restaurant for lunch. The location is stunning. Beautiful building with gorgeous property and landscaping. The food was very good, including one of the best guacamole I have had in my two years in Mexico! Service was a bit slow as we were the only occupied table, but it was a nice relaxing lunch and the waitress was extremely pleasant.

We did not stay here, but we just went to look around and have a drink in the restaurant. We loved it! The place is so beautiful. And the drinks were amazing. Also, the staff is super kind. And there was a band playing; some of the best live music I heard in Mexico.
Hannah B — Google review
I was at the Hacienda with my family. I think the place looks beautiful but I think they need to put more attention to the restaurant service and prices to elevate. The food is OK. Another recommendation is the pools need more maintenance to keep them clean. Cenote also was very dirty. And the fourth recommendation is they need more personnel that can explain more about the Hacienda when we entered only one person at the reception she could handle it.. I hope they take these recommendations as a positive and improve, it will be great for the visitors and also great for the Hacienda.

By far the worst place we have ever experienced! And we've been to many countries and stayed at many places. We stayed 5 nights in Riviera Maya and decided to extend our trip and drive to Merida for a few days. We stayed at haciendas before but we decided to try Santa Cruz. We only booked this place for the Master Suite. We have 2 small children and the room was what we needed for our family. We reserved the room online through their website, only to drive all the way there for 4 hours to be told that the room is not available. First off, when we arrived there, there was nobody there to greet the guests. When the host finally showed up, he was very impressed that we were even there. After being told that the master suite is not available, we had no choice but settle for the rooms they had to offer because it was late and everything else around was sold out. When we got to our rooms, we realized that there were 2 separate rooms in one building, which meant that my husband and I had to split up and stay with one child in each room due to safety. One of the rooms had a strong cigarette smell and was very dirty. There were black stains on the bedding and hair in the sink in shower. There was no common area where the entire family could spend time together. If that wasn't enough, they had a wedding that night right outside our windows and the entire place was booming until 3am! We have nothing against wedding, but the hotel should have give us a courtesy call when we booked, to let us know that the night will be loud. Lastly, we booked an excursion the following day, and we asked the host to set us up with a driver for 9.30am which he said he did. In the morning I sent a message on whatsapp to front desk with no answer for 40 minutes. I called front desk and the girl there had no clue about the car. Eventually, they figured out that the transportation can't be there until 11am, after our excursion! At that point, we had to cancel the excursion, packed our suitcases and went to front desk and told them that we are out of there. We checked out after only one night, we got in Ubers and went to Chable. Awful, awful experience.

Nice hotel in a beautiful hacienda, good restaurant and service. Unfortunately, pretty expensive for the amenities received: Roaches came out of the shower drain everything we took a shower. We weren't told that Sunday at 7am there was a political event with hundreds of people shouting on the microphone waking everybody up. You can't use the spa facilities without paying extra. They don't take American Express.
Luis A — Google review
Beautiful hacienda, food is disappointing though and quite pricey. We came without reservation and were told waiting time is 1.5 hours while they just had a few tables occupied (but ok- kitchen was probably understaffed) in the end, after insisting, we waited outside with a capuccino and got a table within the hour. Would still give some stars since staff is friendly and the hacienda is beautiful, but would not go back due to the quality of the food. Perhaps it was just the moment of the day since there was a wedding the day before and who knows the cook was tired.

Great food and service. Excellent coffee. We shared crepes and fruit tart. I’m actually back in the restaurant right now for breakfast because everything was that good. Super recommended. Pretty reasonable price considering the neighborhood. AC is a bit too cold for my taste and considering it’s the middle of winter lol.

We ordered several plates and the bread in all 3 is old and stale. Or if it’s not stale then it’s simply not the correct bread to use for toast. But it was the same issue with their bagels, very dry overall.

Cute neighborhood restaurant. Friendy staff, good service. Food was okay. Hummus was coarse and had an unusual flavour. Eggs Benny with salmon lacked any lemon flavour but they were perfectly cooked. Café frio was great. In fairness I liked the place enough so I will return and try some other items on their menu.

Good vibes, especially outdoors, but on a saturday at 9am, i should not have to wait 1hr+ for simple dishes on a 35* degree weather. TLDR: Food ok The smoothies were the best thing imo Outside is cute, wish there were more fans (especially with the long wait) Don’t come starving and get ready to wait for entry or food at busy times Bring OFF as there are too many flies (the trash is also outside by the tables??) The dishes were just ok. A couple of tables that arrived after us got their food delivered first, bummer. The blue fruit bowl was not blue coz they were out of espirulina, a little of a letdown since we did arrive early-ish. So for them to be out of it already says a bit about how their kktchen works. Servers were nice but they were not attentive as they would not come over, and when we managed to catch em to get extra straws or salt, they took just as long as if we asked extra dishes. My partner had to get up a couple of times since they just left us hanging. We ordered: - smoothies: definitely get smoothies over juices, better for the hot weather. Blue bowl: needs more fruit/toppings, the yellow smoothie part gets boring real quick. Huevos motuleños: Just ok Vida mia sandwich: Nice a fresh tasting with the cucumber and avocado. Goat cheese toast: My partner liked it

Cute local spot with a nice vibe and a view. Good coffee + chilaquiles. Usually one of our go-to’s. I would have given 5 stars but one of the times we went, it was completely empty and we wanted to sit in the shade. The gentleman who was attending to us was adamant about us only being able to choose a table that had 2 chairs because we were 2 people. (All of which were in the sun) Finally, I decided to get up and find someone else to ask if we could move and they ended up letting us. (Reminder: not a soul was there but us) Not sure what that was about? Kinda put a wrench in the experience. Before that moment, I had always regarded it highly and enjoyed it very much. I’m looking forward to going back and making new memories.

Al Modar could become our favourite place to chill and relax in Cholul. The decor is stylish yet understated. The service was exceptional. When it became obvious that we didn't speak very much Spanish the owner/manager/a senior member of staff came to our assistance. She spoke excellent English, was friendly and very helpful making suggestions about local specialities that we may not have sampled before. She was even happy to help us improve our Spanish by answering some questions that had confusing us. Unfortunately the complete menu was not available as they had only been open for 10 days. We will be returning on a regular basis and wish Al Modar every success for the future.

They serve cold chicken on their chilaquiles (gross), the iced latte has weak "espresso" & they acted surprised when you ask about the cold chicken. The atmosphere is the nicest part of this place. How is it they don't adhere to food safety codes? I ordered the chilaquiles with chicken and in less than 5 min it was delivered to my table ...oddly quick, meaning it was sitting out for however long? The service is que malo!

Went for Christmas Eve dinner. The ambiance was nice, but everything went downhill from there. My partner got food poisoning from the Christmas Eve four course dinner... which was a prepaid ~$200 USD for two people. Charging this kind of price in Mexico and then having such subpar service and food was absolutely unacceptable. The food was okay, but the sweet brown sauces tasted and looked very similar despite being on different dishes. The service was terrible, it seemed like no one on the wait staff spoke English so they just avoided us altogether. We didn't have an assigned waiter, and while that's no problem if we are attended to properly in this situation there was no accountability bc it was unclear who to go to. We and our neighboring tables had to ask for water individually. Our table was missing utensils and a wine glass, which we had to ask for separately as well. The wait staff seemed understaffed, they were constantly scrambling to set up as customers arrived and dropping things. On top of that, we told them I had a serious walnut allergy (even translated in Spanish to make sure it was understood) - and despite the restaurant manager saying he would let the kitchen know and me trying to tell the hostess multiple times - I still saw walnuts on my dessert and had to ask for it changed. It really feels like this business doesn't know how to run a restaurant - it really does require a separate skillset from hotel...

Either get more staff or lower the prices. There's no value here on food or.timr. Drinks took 10 minutes to arrive at 7pm with 2 tables in use. We ordered an app, a salad and 2 entrees and they served it ALL TOGETHER after 45 minutes and a complaint. 4 plates on a 2 top isn't easy to place. Why would you stay for dessert? Not worth the money either.

(Translated by Google) Rosa XOCOLATE is a boutique hotel with a small restaurant that offers good ideas, with a good execution that may surprise you, being in Mérida The place is small, nothing special in terms of decoration, or the building itself. The menu is extensive, has a good variety and the quality of the products they offer is quite good. The highlight, without a doubt, is their plating, if there is an effort to present the dishes in a professional and different way. The table is very poor, and keeping the proportions, the service is friendly, but with many areas of opportunity. The times are not adequate, since they are prolonged unnecessarily, even when everything is prepared at the moment. Few diners, and a bit soulless. In terms of flavor we can be very happy, since they do have a series of very original creations. The portions are individual, but sufficient. As for prices, they are average of what exists in the Paseo area, Montejo, but contrasted against other places in the city or the country, if it is a medium-high price. Although there is a wide variety of options for all types of palates in this city, it is a good experience, if I recommend it, it is advisable to attend in a group of 4 to 6 people and you will have a better time.

(Translated by Google) I had the opportunity to visit the restaurant for breakfast and loved it. I ordered a salmon toast and grapefruit juice, and it was delicious. The service was excellent, there was live music, and a very relaxed atmosphere. Plus, there are tables outside inside the air-conditioned restaurant, and they have an outdoor terrace. I would definitely go back!

(Translated by Google) The restaurant is as good as the hotel. The eggs Benedict with smoked meat are spectacular. Great service. (Original) El restaurante es tan bueno como el hotel. Los huevos benedictinos con carne ahumada son espectaculares. Gran servicio
