Asahiyama Zoo is a modern zoo featuring reptiles, marine mammals, and a famous daily penguin parade. It's part of a comprehensive travel plan that includes other attractions like the hills of Biei, the Blue Pond, and flower fields at Farm Tomita in Furano. The zoo offers an exciting experience with various animal exhibits and the highlight being the entertaining penguin parade. Visitors can also explore nearby attractions such as Biei Patchwork Road and Blue Pond for stunning natural scenery.
A well-designed zoo, easy to reach and worth the visit. The animal enclosures are creatively built to let you observe the animals up close, especially the penguin and seals viewing via underwater glass tunnel. Sections are educational and family-friendly. The zoo is clean, well-maintained, and staff are helpful. Great for both kids and adults looking to experience wildlife in such a unique setting.

Reasonably sized, clean, well laid out zoo. You can spend anywhere from an hour to a few here depending on whether you stop to see everything. They've got a good variety of animals, especially those for cold climate such as polar bears, seals and penguins. There are also kids areas for interacting with small animals. There are feeding sessions to watch as well, though you'll generally want to come in the morning for those as most are finished by early afternoon.
Bent Z — Google review
Love this zoo. It is built on a hill slope. Animals are well kept and clean. Great place for children and adult alike. We entered by the East Gate which is at the top of the hill and stroll slowly downhill. When getting back to the East Gate, there is a bus stop mid point of zoo where you can catch a shuttle bus back to the top if you are tired. Inexpensive entry fees and worth your 3 to 4 hours spent there.. enjoy!
Jonathan L — Google review
Absolutely great place to visit on our last day drive out to Sapporo. Though it was little hotter on the day of visit and we got sun burn but worth it. Good light also gave us an opportunity to click better pics. I found penguin in the open space were very good for photography and interaction. Loved the big wolf, healthy lions, cheetah, bear, and many more species plus birds. Good place to go though the car parking could be a challenge but not that bad as Furano farm. Here jt is well managed.
Ravish M — Google review
Visited Asahiyama Zoo in mid-July. Even though it was hot and rainy, the zoo provided umbrellas for visitors, which was a really thoughtful touch. The paths are easy to walk, and it’s simple to get from one animal area to another. Lots of animals to see, and everything felt well maintained. A great experience overall—highly recommended!
Janny P — Google review
One of the best zoo experiences the big cats and all the animals seem to love the cooler weather! (Went Nov 3) - lots of great photography opportunities and happy animals.
Amanda V — Google review
I visited this zoo in July 2025. The weather was quite hot, around 30°C. If you arrive in the afternoon, there’s usually no need to wait in line for tickets. The entrance fee for adults is 1,000 yen. The zoo itself isn’t very large, but it houses a wide variety of animals. What impressed me the most was that, in addition to viewing animals from outside their enclosures, there are indoor walkways where you can see some animals up close, separated only by glass. Some animals, like the bears, appeared a bit thin and old, while others like the tigers and lions looked healthy and typical for a zoo. Compared to other zoos, the highlight here is definitely the opportunity to observe the animals more closely than in most places.
Peerasit T — Google review
Great place to bring children to! Most of the animals there are quite active, unlike other zoos I’ve visited in the past. Quite a large variety of animals. One of the biggest downside is there weren’t any giraffes at all. Also, while there is a large variety of animals, there probably wasn’t enough of them in quantity. Nevertheless, still worth a visit.

The Otokoyama Sake Brewing Museum, a former brewhouse-turned-museum, is a must-visit for sake lovers. It offers exhibits on traditional sake-making methods and provides the opportunity to taste different varieties of this popular Japanese beverage. Located in Asahikawa, Hokkaido, the museum provides an immersive experience into the world of sake production and allows visitors to appreciate the artistry and craftsmanship behind this iconic drink.
Lots of parking and a cute museum. The store is open for free and paid tastings (more expensive sale is 200 yen a tasting). They also sell sale ice cream which my wife found delicious. They sell certain sake you can only get from the museum store and they have a wide selection of sake to choose from.
Karl C — Google review
The museum is free of charge and more of a self-guided type of museum. On the second floor you can see inside the sake making facility, and they show how famous the sake is worldwide. On the third floor you can watch an explanatory video (in many different languages), explaining the sake making process. They also showcase the traditional tools needed to make sake. The real highlight was the sake tasting station though. Each person gets 3 free coins to try their mid range sake. If you want to try their most famous ones, you pay 200¥ per sake you want to try (3 different ones are available). We also tried their sake ice cream and sake kasu chocolate, both incredibly flavourful ! It is recommended to come by bus or by taxi since you shouldn’t drive after the tasting. The bus stop is right across the museum.
Judith K — Google review
A small museum but we do can learn the whole process of making sake. A 200 Yan sake tasting gave nice experiences. No charges for the factory tour also self guided. At the testing room you deposit your coin and push a bottom for sale to dispense! Many old and traditional tools are on display to show how the sake were made during the past which was very neat!

When my wife and I researched places of interest around Furano, we came across Asahikawa, a city located about 56 km (1 hour 5 mins drive by car) north of Furano. Otokoyama Sake Brewing Museum & Park in Asahikawa was a special interest as we enjoy sake. From our hotel in Furano, the drive to Otokoyama Sake was scenic and enjoyable. The museum showcases the history of Otokoyama and chronicling its historical brewing artifacts, brewing processes, collection of regional and international sake awards, etc. An audio-visual TV presentation is available in different languages, including English, and we found this very interesting. From the museum, visitors can view through glass panels into the sake production plant. Entry to the museum is free-of-charge. In a separate building is the sake retail shop where sake tasting and soft-serve ice cream can also be enjoyed. As I was driving, I did not participate in the sake tasting. My wife did and she enjoyed the sake samples. There is a wide selection of sakes for sale at different price points. We purchased Otokoyama's top award-winning Naturally Pure Junmai Daiginjo, Yukimizuki Junmai Daiginjo, and Fukko Sake. We observed an interesting activity by locals who brought large plastic containers to fill up with mineral water which was dispensed free-of-charge from taps. The mineral-rich water is drawn from underground wells for sake production, and the water sources are the very reasons for Otokoyama's location. Of course, we emptied our small drinking bottles and refilled them with the mineral water!
Jeff L — Google review
I really appreciate their free-entry museum. On the top level of museum, I could learn every single stages of sake making. It’s so well curated and easy to understand. It’s foreigner freindly setting which offer presentations in a few different languages. I enjoyed both free and paid sake tastings. Loved everything.
Hannah C — Google review
The museum is a must-go for Japanese sake fans. You can explore 2 floors worth of history and events of their most famous sake, as well as watch a short film on the 3rd floor. It's all free admission and photography is permitted. it wasn't busy when we visited on a Sunday afternoon too. The tasting and shop moved to a new location next Dorr but it isn't too far of a walk. Overall, it's worth the 10-15 minutes of exploring!
E T — Google review
350 year old award winning sake brand. They use snow filtered water from Mount Daisetsu. Pretty nice but smallish museum. The store outside has the tastings area. Tried a 7000円 sake for 200円、it was tasty. There is also a cafe. I tried the rice latte 450円 and it was very delicious, tasted like sake😂. Overall a pretty cool experience. Easy to take the bus here from Asahikawa station, use the Japan Travel app for routes, when you get on the bus take a ticket. Note the buses only take coins so have exact change.
David T — Google review
The Museum closes at 5pm and the cafeteria closes at 4:30pm. So plan ahead and enjoy the tour in the 1st floor. Really interesting to know some history. The cafeteria has a lot of options to buy from. I bought the animal can sake, which was a very good to take as a gift. Try the sake tasting as well.

Asahikawa City Museum is a must-visit destination for those interested in delving into the history and culture of Hokkaido. The museum offers insights into the Ainu Indigenous people, showcasing their traditions and lifestyle. Additionally, visitors can explore exhibits on local industries like agriculture and forestry, as well as traditional Japanese practices such as tea ceremonies and calligraphy. Although English explanations are limited, the museum provides a rich and colorful learning experience about Hokkaido's heritage.
Highly recommended if you want to learn more about Ainu, the indigenous people of hokkaido. Well curated museum exhibiting the history and culture of Ainu. English captions are available via QR codes at various (though not all) exhibits, making this museum a great one compared to some other more popular museums we visited in Hokkaido, which only have pure japanese captions. On the lower floor, this are also exhibitions on the flora, bird, insect and animal specimens from the surroundings. The ticket price is well deserved!
Kate L — Google review
Small 2 story museum, was the only visitor on a Tuesday afternoon. Exhibits all in Japanese, had some electronic buttons which worked. Entry fee of 350 yen, probably will avoid next time

Good to know about history of Asahikawa and surrounding area history. If you have another museum ticket can use it for 10% discount. Almost empty visitors. Just 1 hours yo walk and read about it. 350 Yen per adult

super insightful museum with two floors of detailed exhibitions. information is mostly in japanese but you can scan a qr code to get english translations, or just use google lens. covered everything from jomon era to modern era. highly recommended! you can purchase tickets at the counter.
Nadya M — Google review
Well maintained and beautifully structured museum. Good for 1-1:30 hr stop. No English description but can be QR scan / using translation for better understanding for the Ainu history.
Napat S — Google review
A good museum covering everything from Ainu culture and history across Hokkaido to how Hokkaido was “created” geologically with deep dives into tectonic plates etc, wildlife from fauna and flora as well as how life evolved from pre-historic to modern times. The museum is about 2 floors and can be done in about 1h if you do t ready every QR with English translation or about 2h+ if you do. It is about a 15min walk from the JR station and worth a visit
Sobren15 — Google review
The museum is not very big, but its very informative. Worth visiting to know more about the nature and the history of the region.
Alena B — Google review
I came here on a weekend in November and there were hardly any visitors. So it was as if I had the whole museum to myself. Haha. It is a relatively small museum compared to the museum in Sapporo. If you are fast, you can leave in less than an hour. This is not a standalone unlike others. This is formerly a snow crystal museum, but they converted it to a city museum. I wonder why. Since the event receives relatively few visitors, you can play in the snow outside without worrying about disturbing other people.

The Snow Crystal Museum in Asahikawa, Hokkaido is a charming and compact museum that celebrates the beauty of snowflakes. The museum's architecture resembles a snowflake itself, with white walls and ice columns creating an enchanting atmosphere. Inside, visitors can explore displays of ice crystal images and artistic exhibits showcasing the delicate structure of snowflakes. The European-style castle design adds to the magical ambiance, making it feel like something out of a fairy tale or movie like Frozen.
Great place to visit with pretty frosted glass designs. Very photogenic place and romantic for couples. Family with children will be able to link it to fairy tale castles.
Wee C — Google review
The ticket for one adult is 700 yens. In my opinion, it's not worth it. There isn't too much to see. Yes, it's pretty and has some cool ice inside, but that's it, there isn't too much else to see. A shop, an event room, a video library, which is everything in Japanese. It has a restaurant inside, but you can access to it from outside the museum. The money doesn't worth the visit.
Mariano M — Google review
Exquisite place with elegant snow design everywhere and stunning halls! There are only some designated rooms so to be honest it's all more like a feast to eyes than an interesting experience. And despite the map it's still hard to make the way since all rooms are connected and there are two floors, making it harder to find directions. The restaurant only offers like 5 lunch sets but it's well-prepared and worthy, about ¥1200-1500 for a lunch set with a main dish, salad/bread, soup and dessert, or ¥500-800 for dessert only. Even the dishes are inspired by the signature snow design!
Quinn'z L — Google review
I'd call it more of an event hall, with a small element of "museum". There's plaques in Japanese, English, and Chinese, so you can learn all about the formation, crystallization, and science of snowflakes in three languages. If you like sparkly things, there's plenty of that to entertain the eyes. If you're also the sort who likes to get dressed up like a pretty princess, they also have a photo package and rental service. Just call ahead to make a reservation though.
Jenny B — Google review
Best if you could understand Japanese. Entrance fee: ¥700 for adults (¥650 if you log on to their website and find the discount coupon) ¥500 for University Students (student card is required) ¥550? A little cheaper for high school students or below. There’s a bridal service too. And if you’re a cosplayer, it would be suitable for photoshoot.
Shu Y — Google review
A romantic scenic spot. The 'museum' displays quite a number of 'snow'-like exhibits. With the crystal lamps, this place is decorated as a castle in Frozen. There is also a hall for wedding or music performance, with more than 140 seats. The time spent in this place is around 30 to at most 45 minutes.

The Kawamura Kaneto Ainu Memorial Museum, established in 1916, is a significant site for preserving the history and culture of the Ainu people in Hokkaido. The museum, built in traditional Ainu style and run by actual Ainu individuals, offers English-friendly exhibits showcasing tools from daily life and valuable materials from the Asahikawa area. Visitors can also participate in programs such as folk music performances, classical dance experiences, and embroidery workshops.
I can't recommend this place enough if you're genuinely interested in learning about the Ainu *through* the Ainu themselves. A small family museum with a highly personal history, shared through some of the most beautiful storytelling I've read while traveling Hokkaido. The pieces and exhibits are beautiful for sure, but take the time to read and truly take in all the descriptions of life, history and culture and you'll be glad you took the trip - whatever else you're in Asahikawa for.
Sarah S — Google review
Definitely a must-visit for anyone interested in Ainu history. This is not just a museum – it’s a whole encyclopedia. You’ll find traditional clothing, patterns, household tools, and even exhibits about the Ainu language. I also want to highlight the gift shop: here you can support contemporary Ainu crafts by purchasing something to remember your visit. Highly recommended!
Artem K — Google review
Less advertised on websites talking about places to visit in Asahikawa but a definite recommendation! It is run by Ainu descendants themselves from a generational hand down since the original founder in the late 1800s to foster understanding of the Ainu culture. It was very interesting. They also hand out a mini book worth of information in pamphlet form covering everything from history to religion, dance, clothing and more. If you have to choose between this and the Asahikawa city museum due to time, just would choose this museum.
Sobren15 — Google review
A memorial to Kawamura Kaneto, who fought to keep Ainu culture alive in the region and who later funded the museum. It is not very large but its unassuming nature and tight range of artefacts, photos, and Ainu crafts make it an important destination for anyone visiting the city. There is a store selling some handmade curios on site as well and the proceeds contribute to the community upkeep.
B N — Google review
You can learn something about Ainu culture. Definitely recommend going there because it seems privately owned and gives a different view on this sensitive topic between japanese and Ainu culture. Entrance fee is a bit high (800yen).
L ( — Google review
Really Interesting. We learned a lot about the Ainu people and their struggles. It is so important to learn about such history. We'll treasure the little carved bear we bought at the Ainu village at Akanko more.
Mars B — Google review
A great exhibition of Asahikawa's Ainu Heritage. It's all combined inside a whole house that was built under imitation of an authentic Ainu house. There were carved wooden sculptures, embroidered clothes, Ainu hunting and daily tools, animal models and so on. The guide wasn't so supportive so the only information I could get was from some printed glossaries and automatic video. The museum also offers Ainu and Asappy souvenirs, as well as Ainu clothes for visitors to try on (with fees charged).
Quinn'z L — Google review
Small and well-organized museum, managed by an Ainu family. Good history of the challenges faced by the Ainu people since the Meiji era.

Asahikawa Station is a bustling hub for travelers, offering easy access to the Heiwa Shopping Street and various attractions. The station serves as a convenient starting point for visiting popular destinations such as Asahiyama Zoo, Kawamura Kaneto Ainu Kinenkan, Otokoyama Sake Brewery, and Ramen Village.
Lovely and beautiful train station especially in winter where the track covered by snow. Not a busy station and beutiful interior design. The bus terminal is just outside the train station and people here are friendly and nice. A grandma who cant speak english even try help and lead us into correct queue line for bus.

The aesthetics of this station is just fantastic. It's wood-themed interior and the art displays inside makes it look like a museum of sorts. If you are going around Hokkaido, Asahikawa Station is conveniently located in the heart of the prefecture hence it is where you should stay if you want to explore Hokkaido's natural beauty. This station is literally at the heart of Hokkaido.

Very clean. Simple layout. They also have a Tourist Info Center, bike rentals, souvenir shop, lockers, and vending machines. You can get the bus schedules in Tourist info center. Either you talk to the staff or get one of their flyers with the bus schedule (in English) Connected to the adjacent AEON Mall.

Asahikawa is a nice regional hub, with connections to Sapporo, Wakkanai, Furano and Kitami. It's a huge station with many restaurants and shops. It was all really nicely decorated for the Christmas season. Really beautiful with all the snow too, although they don't seem to be shoveling a path through the snow
Ruddy D — Google review
I rated this 5 stars because this is, in my opinion, the most beautiful station (in terms of interior design) I've ever been in Japan. The warm and minimalist aesthetics of its modern hallways adorned by the wooden walls give it more of a museum vibe than a station. Students stay in the evening hours to study at station hallways, enjoying the relaxed and calm atmosphere. Commuters perhaps give respect to the superb architectural space by behaving in a quiet subdued manner. The elegant finish extend even at the square fronting the station and mall. The wide, unobstructed vista of the square complements the aesthetics of the station's interiors.
Ito R — Google review
It's a massive station. I had to ask for assistance at various points. But when I go back, I'll get used to it.

One of the most memorable JR stations I have been to from an architectural perspective. Visited during summer 2019. The station was designed by Naito Architect & Associates. The modern exterior facade is beautiful, and the wooden interior feels cozy and spacious. The plaza outside the station is great for a leisure walk. A must visit for architectural enthusiasts

The Hokkaido Asahikawa Museum of Art, located in the city of Asahikawa, has been a cultural hub since its opening in 1982. It showcases wooden art and local artists' works, offering a cozy café and shop. The museum aims to deepen the appreciation for cultural creation by researching, collecting, and exhibiting art from the Dohoku region as well as Japanese and foreign pieces from diverse perspectives.
Very well curated small museum that has great exhibits for its size. The museum is also located inside a park which is very pretty and there are numerous statues outside to view before entering! I was introduced to many new artists here! The museum has a no photos policy but foreigners can use google translate to take pictures and translate the descriptions of the art found around the museum! This is a great place to visit if you find yourself in Tokiwa park with an hour to spare! The ticket prices are also quite reasonable and they offer discounts for students and senior citizens.

The Hokkaido Asahikawa Museum of Art, nestled in Tokiwa Park at the heart of Asahikawa, is a serene and culturally rich hub that art lovers shouldn't miss. Opened in July 1982, it's recognized as Hokkaido's first prefectural art museum, designed to enrich the northern region’s cultural landscape. Inside, visitors encounter two core collections: exquisite wooden artworks that spotlight Asahikawa's celebrated woodworking tradition, alongside paintings, prints, sculptures, and crafts by artists rooted in northern Hokkaido. These exhibits—ranging from both regional and international art—are thoughtfully rotated through “Museum Collection” and special exhibition programs, offering fresh perspectives throughout the year. The museum is highly accessible, open daily from 9:30 AM to 5 PM (last entry at 4:30), with closures on Mondays (or the following day after national holidays), New Year’s holidays, and during exhibit changeovers. Admission to Gallery 2 is budget-friendly—around ¥260 for adults and ¥150 for students—with Gallery 1 fees varying depending on exhibitions. Facilities are well-equipped, featuring free parking (shared with the park), wheelchair access, accessible restrooms, slopes, nursing rooms, wheelchairs on request, and even AED availability. There's also a cafe and museum shop, perfect for relaxing after viewing the galleries.

A nice museum located in Tokiwa Park. While not huge, it is worth going to to see the visiting exhibits if there happens up be an exhibit you want to see! Be sure to check their website for a list of visiting artists and hours of operation before you arrive! There is free parking available at the museum.

Located in the Ishikawa River valley at the border between the Kamikawa Basin and the Ishikari Plain, Kamuy Kotan is a beautiful spot with scenic greenschist cliffs and rapids. The Ainu people of the area used waterways as their main means of transportation, and this scenic spot is known for its picturesque fall foliage.
Very nice scenery. the bridge and river Place where you can take picture of the train(2 train) A hiking spot im guessing up to a shrine near the train area, went half way and came back down as not prepared for it. Narrow, rocky, overgrown grass and spider webs which my friend wasnt liking it Finally the tunnel, didnt go in but its cool

This place is awesome... It would be great if there were no bears in the area and then you could cycle along the abandoned track
Brett B — Google review
Done hiking both 神居岩 and 神居 hiking courses. The condition of the path wasn't good which was very narrow, rockily and full of glasses (and I felt like I am following the animal's path) so you need to be well equipped and should wear hiking boots. 神居岩 route was harder but better than the other. You'll have nice view from the summit!! There is a loo and free parking spot.

They said that at night.. The place is creepy and haunted. Many died here by just letting themselves jump at the bridge. But in the morning is a great hiking place and a former Station connecting from Takikawa - Fukagawa - Inou Stations

Its way more interesting if you read up on the folklore before. Recommend walking down steam to see the other 3 sites as well. You can also hike above the trains if you want.

Very nice place!! Good for resting and views. If you are in BICYCLE: * There is a long bicycle road to the city. Part of it was closed when we visited. However we ride the open part through the forest and saw 2 deers. * It’s also nice to avoid tunnels and traffic.

The Kamikawa Shrine is a beautiful shrine located in Kaguraoka Park, close to Daisetsuzan National Park and abounding with parks. The shrine features a beautiful lake and is surrounded by spiritual scenery reminiscent of flowing water.
(Translated by Google) Kamikawa Shrine Tongu Shrine is located in Joban Park in Asahikawa City, Hokkaido. Although it is located in the urban area, it seems that few people come to worship on weekdays, so the environment is very quiet and leisurely. It is even quieter when it is snowy in winter. You will pass a bridge before going to the shrine, and everything you see is very beautiful. After visiting Kamikawa Shrine Tongu Shrine, I bought a lovely royal guard with a hand-written royal seal and a cherry blossom covered with it. Kamikawa Jinja or Kamikawa Shrine os a historic shrine in the heart of Asahimawa's Tokiwa Park. Although it does not look as grand as the shrines in Kyoto, it still has that unique beauty that makes it stand on its own. The Asahikawa Science Museum, also known as Saipal, is a captivating science center located in Asahikawa, Hokkaido. It offers an interactive and educational experience for visitors of all ages with its hands-on exhibits on natural sciences, technology, and astronomy. The museum features experiment rooms, experience rooms, a planetarium, and an observatory that allows guests to explore the Northern ecosystems and the universe.
A new experience! This was my first time going to Planetarium. The best to go when you well rested, so don't fall asleep under the stars. My friend said they change the movie every month. The staff is friendly too.
Tabita E — Google review
Visited on 1st November 2024. It’s a fun place to learn about science. It would take at least 2-3 hours to truly appreciate the exhibitions. Most of the exhibits have English translation and the exhibition staff were friendly and approachable too. There is an observatory on the rooftop. Unfortunately, it was cloudy that day and we were unable to use the telescope. The view of the city from up there was great though. The only downside was the show in the planetarium, it was passable and had little to do with astrophysics. Regret being stuck in there for 40 minutes. Other than that the museum itself is a good place to visit.

Free entry for Young kids (7 y.o.). Excellent science museum. Loved all parts of it. Small museum but I think it’s One of the best in the country. Loved science show and -40 degree room.
Nong V — Google review
This is a Science Museum, relatively small (you can also tell that by the size of its gift shop). However, I did have a very good time for hours with my little girl. All science demonstrations here delivered Science knowledge to kids, as well as funs (most with English description). Several staffs spoke English to guide us, especially when my daughter played with the "low-gravity jumping" and "free-rotation seat". So as the "taking photos of your shadows", great toy even to me. Excellent place to visit in Asahikawa!! You may put it into your travel plan.
CS K — Google review
It's a very small museum. Shows are in Japanese language only, but most of the exhibit has some English instructions/information. We pop by to kill some time before heading to the airport. There is a zero gravity experience station where you can try to experience astronaut training. There is also a small earthquake simulator if you want to experience how it feels during an earthquake. The staff were very friendly, and they do try their best to explain the key concepts to we using body language + simple english.
LH S — Google review
Great little science centre to spend an hour or two with kids. The exhibits are excellent even though all is in Japanese. Staffs are very helpful and are able to communicate in English. Only JPY 500 per adult and JPY 300 per child. Absolutely the place you can spend a great time interacting with your kids - highly recommended.

The Hokkaido Ice Pavilion in Asahikawa offers a unique experience of winter even in the summer months. The facility features an ice tunnel with temperatures as low as -20C, a wall of icicles, and an extreme cold corner reaching -41C. Visitors can also enjoy activities like sliding on snow and feeding goats. The ice hall covers 600m2 and contains around 1,000 tons of ice, providing a stunning backdrop for photos.
Highly recommend this place. You'll have the opportunity to experience -21°C and -41°C. Went there today for a break due to the heavy snow, and we were the only guests on arrival. The staff were kind and passionate, although we were the only visitors. Warm tea was given after the cold room. There is a shrine and a slide outside. The slide cost 200 JPY, but the staff let us use it for free. The slide is highly recommended and it made my day, thanks to the staff. Their kindness and energy; I will always remember.

For anyone coming from a country without snow, Hokkaido Ice Pavilion is such a fascinating place to visit! ❄️ It’s your chance to experience what –21°C actually feels like — an exciting kind of cold that’s both fun and unforgettable. It’s so freezing that even a wet towel turns solid in seconds! The staff there are super friendly and attentive, offering the kind of excellent service you can always expect in Japan. The place itself is clean, well-maintained, and beautifully designed. If you’ve never experienced snow or extreme cold before, this is definitely a must-visit spot — a special place to feel that icy chill at least once in your life. I drove there from my accommodation, which took about an hour, and since it was autumn, the scenery along the way was absolutely stunning. The whole trip was totally worth it! 🚗🍁

There was nothing much to see in this establishment. -41C experience was just fans blowing cold air right at you. 200yen sled ride inside was kind of a ripoff, took less than 10 seconds. They give you a hot tea drink right after you finish touring around inside.

Takasago Shuzō K.K. is a sake brewery with a 120-year history, located in the Asahikawa region. The company's roots trace back to the late 19th century when rice growing became stable and sake brewing began. Merging with Ishizaki Shuzo in 1965, it restarted as Takasago Shuzo. Their flagship product, Kokushimuso, is known for its dry and manlike taste.
This place was recommended by the owner of local Izakaya. First, I liked the water sampling at the front. It was so smooth and refreshing. As I arrived at very close to the closing time, I did not have chance to fully-enjoy the museum part. I had both free and paid sake tastings. Their sake tastes clean and smooth.

The Hokuchin Memorial Museum in Asahikawa is a historical treasure trove showcasing the legacy of the Tondenhei, who were tasked with developing and safeguarding Hokkaido. The museum features exhibits detailing the history of the 7th Division of the former Imperial Army, including valuable documents and artifacts from that era. Visitors can explore photographs and music from this significant period in Hokkaido's past.
I came for the Golden Kamuy collaboration and loved the museum for the history! There was no ticket necessary but make sure not to take pictures of inside the store for the merchandise.

I had a great time touring this museum. The staff is incredibly friendly and there is an app that has English explanations for each area. It was very informative and easy to follow. I came as a Golden Kamuy fan, which the staff seem to be used to. In their little shop they sell a variety of merch and Golden Kamuy goods. The staff there was also very friendly and I enjoyed talking with her about Goldeb Kamuy. I was so shy at first though and regret not chatting more!
Misaki — Google review
The museum is free entrance. I believe there is a dedicated staff would guide each of us visiting in Japanese - that was what I saw but I didn’t get one as I’m a foreigner. They surveyed where you from, gender and age before you entered the museum. Pictures and videos are not allowed. I downloaded the app but they’re mostly what I could read on the limited English description inside. I can understand kanji but not Japanese overall so I wasn’t fully understand. But the collection itself is quite rich. Also my first time to learn about some fact from the war from a different perspective - at least the names are different! I just wish I could understand more Japanese
Rui Z — Google review
I visited the Asahikawa Hokushin Memorial Museum, expecting a historical exhibition that presents a balanced view of Japan’s past. However, what I encountered was a highly selective narrative focusing only on the Russo-Japanese War (1904–1905) as a defender of Russian agression, while completely ignoring the broader impact of Japan’s expansion in East Asia. The museum glorifies Japan’s military victories, portraying the war as a heroic struggle against Russia, but it makes no mention of Korea/ China, which were deeply affected by Japan’s actions during and after the war. The exhibits fail to acknowledge that Japan used this war as a stepping stone to colonize Korea in 1910, leading to decades of oppression and suffering. The audio guide was particularly concerning, as it depicted Japanese soldiers as selfless warriors fighting for the Emperor, without any reference to the consequences of Japan’s imperial ambitions. The war is presented as a justified and honorable conflict, completely omitting the brutality and political maneuvers that followed.

An absolute MUST if you're a fan of Golden Kamuy as well as Japanese history! Incredibly helpful staff. They offered a self guided app in English that had numbers to follow with information at each stop and a map of the museum. One elder staff member even made sure I understood how to use the app and follow along and asked for feedback. I was able to use Google translate for any placards that I wanted to read more about too. At the end they had some Golden Kamuy costumes they let me try on and a cute little store! The girl working the store was incredibly sweet and we chatted about Golden Kamuy through Google translate. This was probably the highlight of my experience on top of a wonderfully cared for museum. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Art museum
Nestled in the heart of Asahikawa, the Asahikawa Museum of Sculpture is a treasure trove for art enthusiasts and history buffs alike. This museum showcases an impressive collection of modern and contemporary sculptures, prominently featuring twelve remarkable works by Teijiro Nakahara, a pivotal figure in the evolution of modern sculpture.
This is Teijiro Nakahara sculpture museum. This beautiful building was built as meeting room for army officer. Now many sculptures are exhibited in all floor.

Nice sculpture museum. It’s very small but affordable. Students are free and adults are Y300 (~$2.15). We spent about 30-40 min. Building is beautiful and exhibits are impressive. Asahikawa doesn’t have much in the way of tourist attractions outside of the zoo, but this one of the few. It’s worth going just for the building itself.

Nice place to visit if you are in Asahikawa! It's a combination of science and fun, mostly for kids! Warning, lots of kids!!!! I really didn't expect the place to be this crowded and full of kids! I thought it's a museum only but it turns out that it's a fun type museum Japanese style I guess! If you like to explore Japanese ideas then this is a great place to visit. Not sure if there are any actual classes as the second floor looks like a school with classes for wood works and other interesting stuff!

(Translated by Google) I was a bit nervous about the permanent exhibition on the second floor as there were many busts. I was shocked, but then I relaxed when I saw that half the floor was filled with large exhibits. The building is the only nationally designated Important Cultural Property in Asahikawa. I really like the small external staircase in the corner of the portico and the internal staircase. It's about 6km north of Asahikawa Station, so I rented a bike at the station and was able to take my time looking around in 4 hours and 10 minutes, going from Tokiwa Park to Asahibashi Bridge to Hokuchin Memorial Hall to Sculpture Art Museum to Yasushi Inoue Memorial Hall to Starfin Baseball Stadium. I ended up staying at Tokiwa Park for a long time as I had a very good impression of it.

(Translated by Google) First visit, October 11, 2025. Teijiro Nakahara (1888, October 4, 1921 - January 7, 1921) was one of Japan's leading sculptors of the Taisho period. Born in Kushiro, Nakahara disliked his overly strict father and voluntarily moved to Asahikawa with his mother in 1897 to be adopted by his maternal uncle and aunt. He later enrolled in Hokkaido Prefectural Sapporo Junior High School (now Sapporo Minami High School) with the goal of becoming a doctor, but after failing and dropping out in his third year, he moved to Tokyo to study painting. However, due to the high cost of paints, he gave up painting and turned to sculpture. He created 25 works throughout his life until he died at the age of 32 from acute uremia caused by overwork. Excluding some that he was never satisfied with and destroyed himself, all 12 of his remaining works are on display at the Nakahara Teijiro Memorial Asahikawa Sculpture Museum. In 1962 (Showa 37), more than 40 years after Nakahara Teijiro's death, Teijiro's works found their way to Asahikawa thanks to the efforts of his friend and sculptor, Hirakushi Denchu, who was the model for his posthumous sculpture, the Hirakushi Denchu Statue (they had been creating portraits of each other), as well as Kato Akikiyo, who had experience as a substitute teacher in Asahikawa and was influenced by Teijiro to become a sculptor himself. On May 24, 1927, Ryunosuke Akutagawa gave a lecture titled "One Aspect of Poe" at the former Niigata High School (now Niigata University). He viewed the "Young Caucasian" exhibit at the school and later wrote in his travelogue "Tohoku, Hokkaido, Niigata": "Niigata High School, who knows? Is there anyone who falls in love with this bronze 'Young Man' by Nakahara Teijiro? This young man is still alive!" (Niigata is a place with ties to Teijiro's wife, Makoto, and Niigata University is said to have three of this statue: the original and two replicas.) Photography is permitted inside and outside the museum building, as well as the outdoor sculptures, but photography of the artworks inside is prohibited. Please take the time to burn the image into your eyes and mind. By the way, this building, the "Old Asahikawa Kaikosha," was designated as an Important Cultural Property (Structure) by the nation on May 19, 1989, and underwent a major renovation from 2012 (H24) to 2017 (H29), where it was partially demolished and then restored with earthquake reinforcement and other necessary repairs. The building itself is also very popular, with the occasional tourist arriving by taxi. (Translated by Google) Previously, a security guard would follow you from behind and get in the way of viewing the works, but that seems to have been improved. The works themselves were wonderful. Perhaps they could be presented in a more creative way. The special exhibition was good, but the permanent works were just lined up in a large room, which made it difficult to appreciate each one individually. How about separating the works with partitions to make them stand out? The number of security guards is limited, so I understand that this will be difficult, but please consider it. Also, I was disappointed that there was no exhibition of the latest award-winning works. Since it was featured prominently on Asahikawa City's website, I assumed I would be able to view them. Kaikosha is a good building, but the bottom part of the flooring seems not to have been replaced, so it creaks when you walk on it. It is entertaining, though. I thought it was great to be able to view the works in a well-cleaned and pristine space.

You can see the works of artists who have received such a prestigious award at this museum. By visiting this museum, you can understand the history of modern Japanese sculpture. The collection of Nakahara Teijiro, who produced only a few works, is quite complete, and there are many worth seeing, from his representative work "Young Caucasian" to "Statue of Hirakushi Denchu", "Statue of an Old Beggar", and "Old Man". Other works include Yasutake Funakoshi, Yoshitatsu Yanagihara, Tadayoshi Sato, Kyoko Asakura, Masaru Kiuchi, Tadayoshi Sato, Bikki Sunazawa, Shin Hongo, and Katsura Funakoshi. It was at this museum that I was shown Yasutake Funakoshi's representative work "Castle of Hara" for the first time in my life. When I saw this work, I was so overwhelmed that I got chills. OMO7 Asahikawa by Hoshino Resorts is a modern hotel located near the central train station in Asahikawa. The hotel offers cozy, minimalist rooms and features three restaurants, a relaxed bar, and a spa. Situated just a minute's walk from 5-7 Furarito, a beloved restaurant street with a nostalgic atmosphere from the Showa period, OMO7 Asahikawa provides an ideal base to experience the local charm of the city.
A Stay That Glows with Comfort and Whimsy Our stay at OMO7 was superb. The room was spacious and calming, thoughtfully designed for both comfort and style. Breakfast was a standout, fresh, generous and served in a space that felt like morning wrapped in light and warmth. It was more than a meal, it was a mood. I also loved their onsen, the facility is clean, serene and is the perfect way to unwind. The lobby was dressed in a playful Halloween theme during my visit, adding a touch of festive charm that made the whole experience feel even more welcoming. And the bar? A delightful surprise. With its campsite theme and actual wood burning fire, it felt like a cozy retreat tucked inside the city, warm, aromatic and quietly magical. OMO7 blends hospitality with heart and I left feeling both rested and delighted.

Stayed for 2 nights. Hotel looks dated, it looked much better in photos and in winter. Stayed in twin room. It's tiny, only place to stow luggage is under the bed, and even the it couldn't contain all of it. Bathroom is also very small, barely enough room to move in. Not good for a tall person. No night lights in the room, only option of blinding light across the room, or just blinding light on your bed. Nice view of the outside though. Amenities are convenient though, you get a switch located right next to your pillow, and the Stoke cups in the room are a nice touch. Onsen and bath at the basement level. Male and female baths switch location depending on time of day. Bath area was small, with 1 warm pool and 1 larger cooler pool, steam room and sauna. It gets very crowded after dinnertime. There's also a lounge area where you can hang out after the bath - here they provide Popsicles and drinks for free. Very nice. Breakfast buffet is quite limited. Mostly Japanese style rice and dishes, some pastries and fruit. They had 2 specialty dishes, the seafood bowl with horseradish and smoke salmon waffle. Both were great. Additionally, the resort also provides soft serve and tea in the lobby in the afternoon which was again very awesome. Parking though is extremely limited. The resort does have an arrangement with the surrounding carparks so you get a good discount when you park there, although it's a short walk from there. Location-wise, pretty quiet but there are quite a few food options in the area, the very friendly and helpful staff are happy to point them out. There's also a map in the lobby to refer to and QR codes which provides direction. Conclusion: good family hotel amenities, although rooms are small and structure is dated. Refurbished rooms give a more modern touch.

We stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights in Sep/25. Overall, it's an OK stay. - Smart design with efficient use of space with the raised floor to store suitcases. This would only work for small suitcases or the ones opened in the middle. For suitcases with side opening, it wouldn't work as they would be too thick for the raised floor cavity. - Lack of USB charging ports. There's only one at the desk area which unfortunately didn't work. - There're 3 of us but the hotel only provided 2 room keys which was very inconvenient (we asked for another but were refused due to their policy???) - Breakfast was OK - Room was of reasonable size - Good location, easy parking

THE POLAR BEAR ROOM WAS AMAZING!! So off the bat, everyone was super friendly and helpful at the front desk while checking in. Personally I was in awe at how beautiful the lobby was. Afterwards, the staff helped me bring my luggage to the elevator which was super nice. The room was INCREDIBLE!! And the little cafe was fantastic too! Every time I came down, I had no idea what new thing would be awaiting for me! I loved the board with all the restaurant suggestions too! But the bath, the bath was EXTRAORDINARY! I felt so spoiled every day! I spent 23 days in Japan, did 11 different hotels and this is the one, that was my absolute favorite!

Animal themed hotel suitable for anyone with kids. When you check in you’ll get a quiz to count how many animals are there in the room. My son enjoyed spotting all the not so obvious polar bears and really didn’t wanna check out from the room. Breakfast was alright but parking is a little expensive.

What a terrible experience. Booked this hotel on booking.com (which was already paid online). The hotel charged us again and it took more than one hour for them to sort out the matter. My family wasted precious time just waiting for them to sort things out on our holiday. In terms of the room, I’ve booked a triple bed. The 3rd bed didn’t come with linen/blanket and you have to pay an additional 8000 yen and set it up yourself. Moreover, the room is not fully renovated. The toilet and entrance door are recycled from the previous hotel. Even the Aircond is from the old hotel system, not cold and not strong. Even some of the shower levers in the public bath were not working. You would think that by paying this much for a hotel, you would get what you paid for. For my family, my wife was really pissed because the reception made us pay twice and then wasted our time for the refund process, hotel room was not really ‘new/renovated’ and worst of all we paid for a triple bed room only to find the 3rd bed does not come with linen/blanket and we have to pay extra for that. What is the point of the 3rd bed then? Oh yeah, their TV is also not a smart TV, so my son couldn’t watch his particular cartoons. Also, on booking.com, it said breakfast is included for a triple bed room. They only issued vouchers for 2 adults and insist I had to pay for my kid (1 child). I showed the reception staff my booking and said ‘breakfast included for triple bed room - meaning 3 people’ but they still insisted we pay. I think you can understand why my wife was upset and how this spoilt our holiday experience. Please do the right thing and avoid this hotel as they will try to find a way to charge you more. Note: we didn’t end up using the 3rd bed and paid for my son’s breakfast buffet as my wife refused to allow this hotel to scam us into paying more. We lived in cheaper hotels and they were way better than OMO7
Kura K — Google review
We paid for a Superior Triple Room for our little family of 4 (both our kids are under 6yo and can stay with us for free, but I figured a mid-journey splurge so my husband could get a better sleep with his own bed would be nice) but arrived to a room with only 2 beds made up and the 3rd bed bare, with a note saying they’ll charge us a further ¥8000 if we try to use it - puzzling considering we booked a triple room for its 3 beds, otherwise I might as well have booked a double room and saved my money right? We also paid extra for “Breakfast Included” which usually means ‘for all 4 of us’. But no, reception kept asking for more payment so my older child can eat with us. For a child who has not touched much of the other “breakfast included” hotel buffets thus far? No thanks (he ended up sitting through our Omo7 breakfast with none of the food of interest to him anyway). Disappointing they even badger about it, when they’d marketed an included breakfast with the room. The biggest horror was that they mistakenly charged me for someone else’s booking on top of my own (¥42,900 x2 is no small sum) and I wouldn’t even have realised it had they not badgered me about the breakfast charge! They said I hadn’t paid for my booking yet so I believed them. After putting through the payment, they started asking about the child breakfast fee, which made me bring up my booking confirmation to point out “Breakfast Included”, only to realise I’d paid weeks ahead for the room. The look of horror on the receptionist’s face when he realised he’d charged me for someone else’s room was almost as horrified as my own! With their limited English, it took multiple staff to communicate the issue and hours to ‘fix’ the charges - the extra charge is still pending on my credit card at the time of writing. I couldn’t get the names of staff as all nametags bear only Kanji, so I can only identify them by sight not names. Just my bad luck this receptionist went home before this billing issue was even settled. After multiple visits to reception to rectify the billing and dispute the breakfast and bedding (they don’t tell you that reception’s phone extension is ‘2’ by the way!), they eventually agreed to waive the ¥8000 make-your-own-bed-with-linen-hidden-under-the-bed fee, but by then my poor exhausted husband had fallen asleep with the 2 kids so the 3rd bed still stands bare and unused. My experience of their public bath was cut short by all these issues, but lucky me, I still had 50minutes to “relax” before it would close, it being 11.10pm by the time reception conceded the bed fee. The place was deserted since normal people don’t publicly bathe so late. Their shower is hilarious, you have to manually pump it up and down to get water through the shower head before it cuts off every 8 seconds. I lost count of the number of times I was caught off-guard and had to grope blindly for the lever, since my eyes had soap dripping in. Cost-saving exercise masked as environmentally-friendly. Overall a disappointment, we’d only stayed there for a few hours, unless you include the time we wasted at reception. Hopefully they sort out the payment problem as I fear Google-translate-communicating with them any further.

Nestled in a serene forested area close to the Asahiyama Zoo, Asahikawa Shrine offers a delightful escape into traditional Shinto culture. This charming shrine is especially vibrant during New Year celebrations and the Shichi-Go-San festival, which honors children. Visitors can appreciate its stunning wooden architecture while partaking in rituals like hand purification at the fountain or drawing omikuji fortune slips for a touch of whimsy.

Asahikawa Shrine is one of the main shrines of Asahikawa City. Weirdly, it is located in the eastern side of Asahikawa and not in the city center. Upon researching about it, I learned that In the late 19th century, several settlements were established in Hokkaido, Japan, including Asahikawa, Kamui, Nagayama, and Kagura Village. Tonden soldiers settled in Nagayama, Asahikawa, and Toma, leading to agricultural development. The region from Higashi-Asahikawa to Toyooka and Toko was known as "Asahikawa Heimura," while the area toward present-day Asahikawa city was referred to as the "Chubetsu city area." In 1897, due to population growth in Chubetsu, the Hokkaido government covertly merged Asahikawa Heimura into Nagayama Village, renaming it as "Nagayama Village." However, residents were not consulted, leading to strong protests from Tonden soldiers and villagers. Eventually, after complaints were filed, the government acknowledged its mistake but couldn't alter the town's name. In 1899, a compromise was reached between the government and residents. Interesting...

Nestled near Hokkaido Gokoku Shrine, Kamikawa Shrine is a captivating sanctuary predominantly constructed from brown wood. Surrounded by stunning scenery, it offers a serene setting for leisurely walks. Unlike bustling Kyoto shrines, Kamikawa Shrine provides an opportunity to savor the approach to a shrine without the crowds. However, visiting in winter may limit exploration due to heavy snowfall.
It's very serene and clean. The staff are friendly and accommodating as well! There's a lot of parking spaces too.

(Translated by Google) You can walk from the back of Asahikawa Station (south exit) along the Chubetsu River to Kamikawa Shrine. (About 20 minutes walk) It seems that the shrine is located in a sacred place, so much so that during the reign of Emperor Meiji, construction of a villa in Asahikawa Kaguraoka was considered (the Beijing Plan). The main deities enshrined are Amaterasu Omikami, Okuninushi no Mikoto (famous for Okuninushi no Mikoto), and Sukunahikona no Mikoto. On the left seat are Toyokehime no Kami, Omononushi no Kami, Amenokaguyama no Kami, Takeminakata no Kami, Honda Bunmikoto (Homutawake no Mikoto = Emperor Ojin), and Imperial Prince Atsumi. On the right are Nabeshima Naomasa, Kuroda Kiyotaka, Nagayama Takeshiro, and Iwamura Michitoshi. Surprisingly, the right seat enshrines a deity who has made particular contributions to the development of Hokkaido and the development of the Kamikawa region and Asahikawa. Here, I would like to introduce a little about the origins of Kamikawa Shrine. It began in July 1897 when Amaterasu Omikami was enshrined at Yoshitsunedai (present-day Miyashita-dori 4-7-chome, on a hill near Asahikawa Station) as the protector of the development of the Kamikawa region and the guardian of Asahikawa. In 1899, moved to 6th and 7th Street 8-chome. (For the development of railways) In 1901, it was moved to Miyashita-dori 21-chome, and later enshrined Omi Takamikoto and Sukunahikona-no-mikoto. On June 6, 1920, the shrine was moved to Kaguraoka, where the construction of Kamikawa Imperial Palace was decided. It is a shrine with a long history and is visited by members of the imperial family. I think it is definitely a power spot shrine in Asahikawa. This time, there were some errors in the text I posted about 4 months ago (around fall last year), so I have made major revisions and edits. (I don't know) Addendum: I visited Kamikawa Shrine around the end of August last year, but I edited the review I posted after that about a month ago for the reasons mentioned above, and this time I will add a new one. There are two types of goshuin at Kamikawa Shrine: Kamikawa Shrine and Asahikawa Tenmangu Shrine. Asahikawa Tenmangu Shrine is located within the same grounds as Kamikawa Shrine. In the reviews of Kamikawa Shrine, there was a complaint about the inadequate response when signing the goshuin at the Kamikawa Shrine office. In fact, there are similar reviews of Banna-ji Temple in Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture, whose main hall is a national treasure. I also learned something. I visited Ban'a-ji Temple last year and posted a review, so I'm writing this as an addendum, which is like a Naoe-style long sermon written by Naoe Kanetsugu to Tokugawa Ieyasu. I posted a review like ``Letter''. It seems that there are quite a few unfavorable responses to goshuin stamps nationwide. I think it is truly regrettable that the Kamikawa Shrine office acted so rudely when signing the goshuin. As a student (I), I have never been on a goshuin tour, but I think that the worshipers who do goshuin tours genuinely believe in the gods and Buddha, are grateful for the stamps, and collect them with great care. Masu. It may have been a goshuin book with a mixture of Shinto and Buddhist stamps, but no matter what reason the shrine office may have, it is not the right thing for a Shinto priest to look down on or treat worshipers visiting the goshuin stamps with disrespect. there is no. Even if a shrine has strict regulations regarding the stamps, you can decline the request after explaining in a kind and easy-to-understand manner. Asahikawa, Hokkaido in winter is probably murderously cold (nearly frigid), and after having to wait for a long time in the cold early morning air, I was sent home without a proper explanation because I couldn't figure out where to write. Well, it's not something that anyone can stomach or accept. I think they should at least be considerate of the people who come to visit the shrine, such as asking them to wait in a warm room during the winter, since they are receiving a stamp fee. Even though people are visiting from far and wide in search of the miraculous goshuin of Kamikawa Shrine, which I heard in the sound, I wonder if they are being treated in such an unpleasant manner as before, making fun of the visitors to the goshuin shrine. , the reputation of Kamikawa Shrine will be lowered and it will become a hate spot rather than a power spot. It is a wonderful shrine with a long and strict history and deep ties to the imperial family, so I sincerely hope that in the future it will change its disrespectful attitude towards the visitors who come to visit the goshuin stamps, and that they will receive their goshuin stamps as a divine response. Masu. In the end, the same thing happened here as well.

Former Japanese National Railways Kamuikotan Station is a charming spot that holds a special appeal for many visitors, who return multiple times each year. Situated near the Kamui Tunnel on National Route 12, it features an old station building and a suspension bridge across the river. The area offers picturesque views, especially from Kamui Ohashi, and during autumn, the colorful foliage adds to its allure.

(Translated by Google) It's not a place that I have a special connection with, but I like it so much that I visit it two or three times a year. If you go down the narrow path that enters diagonally from the entrance of Kamui Tunnel on National Route 12, you will find a store, and there is a parking space beside it. If you walk toward the river, you will come to a suspension bridge, and after crossing the suspension bridge, you will see the old station building. The spectacular view from the suspension bridge is a majestic landscape with beautiful autumn leaves, especially in autumn. It's pitch black at night, but when I cross the bridge alone with a flashlight in my hand, I feel a tingling sensation in my heart, and it's an addictive feeling that I can't seem to stop. Late at night in the summer, I decided to test my courage by myself wearing just a short-sleeved T-shirt and miniskirt, so I took a flashlight and walked towards the tunnel. I saw the people who seemed to be visiting the spots walking towards me while conversing with each other. It seems that many insects were hiding in the grass under my feet that was wet with the night dew. On another day, I felt like I heard the voice of a beast that I thought was a bear, so I'm not going to go late at night again.

Godo Shusei Co., Ltd Asahikawa Plant is located in an area where the Indigenous Ainu people have lived for centuries. The Ainu communities used to build their villages by rivers due to the abundance of salmon, which was their staple food. Additionally, the region was once covered in thick forests, and rivers were used as a means of transportation. The plant also serves sake at Ochanomizu Garden Palace restaurant and has introduced a new beverage called Big Man Premium.
