C.S.I St. Stephen's Church, established in 1830, is a historic church known for its stunning stained-glass windows and a captivating painting of the Last Supper. The church is a part of various sightseeing tours in Ooty, including the evocative 'Through a Slice of History' tour and the tranquil 'Into the Countryside' excursion.
Loved the way it is situated and maintained by the managing team. Parking is an issue inside the premises. They should make a separate parking lot at neighbourhoods but not in premises. I was fortunate enough to witness the Sunday service there. Beautiful hymns and spirituality. One must visit the place and sit for a white to have the feel of the place. I was returning from Ramkrishna math and got dropped at church. Thanks to God
Nivedita M — Google review
Absolutely serene and outstanding. Easily some of the best stained glass work I have ever seen in one of the most iconic churches in India. The cemetery at the back is poignant reminder of the past and is atmospheric in its own way, with the trees and overgrowth. Am glad the whole space is well preserved.
Vijaykrishna R — Google review
The architecture of the church is truly a sight to behold, showcasing intricate detailing. The serene atmosphere within the church provides a sense of peace and tranquility for every visitor. The stained glass windows allow colorful light to illuminate the interior, creating a mesmerizing effect. It's clear that great care has been taken in preserving the church's historical significance. Visiting this church is a highly recommended experience for anyone seeking a moment of reflection.
Mark T — Google review
St. Stephen’s Church – Ooty, is a peaceful and timeless place surrounded by tall trees. As I strolled around the premises, I felt deeply connected to the past — every corner seemed to hold a story. The wooden interiors, soft light through stained glass, and quiet atmosphere bring a rare sense of calm. Truly a must-visit spot for anyone seeking silence, history, and grace.
Suryanarayanan K — Google review
Founded in the colonial era, the church’s foundation stone was laid on 23 April 1829 by Stephen Rumbold Lushington, Governor of Madras, while its consecration took place on 5 November 1830, and public services began on 3 April 1831 . • Designed by Captain John James Underwood (Madras Regiment), it famously incorporates timber from Tipu Sultan’s palace, transported over Sigur Ghat at significant effort and expense (around ₹24,000 at the time) . • The church reflects early Gothic colonial architecture, with pale‑yellow exteriors, a modest clock tower, and a serene flower garden adjacent to the entrance Avoid Sundays if your aim is to explore—services may restrict interior access. • Visit early in the day to enjoy tranquil surroundings and soft natural light through the stained glass. • Mind the cemetery behind the church—historic, evocative, but with modest upkeep. • Respect during prayer times and maintain silence to honor the sacred space.
Hritick R — Google review
It's a 195 year old church. Beautiful and peaceful. The stained glass inside is beautiful and not to be missed.
Mrignayani J — Google review
Beautiful church with a very rich history. You should definitely visit it.The architecture is also marvelous.
Abhishek — Google review
Small Gothic Church one of the first colonial structions built in the 1820 s on the site of a Toda Temple. Timber for the roof was hauled here by elephant from Tipu Sultan's Palace in Srirangapatnam (Mysore). Nice stained glass windows and an interesting graveyard at the back, but not that outstanding. This is one of the bigger heritage Church in Ooty with beautiful architecture and the compound beautifully decorated with a garden having wide variety of flowers. Also the beautiful view of the hills in the distance was mesmerizing. It was definitely worth the walk. We enjoyed clicking pictures in the Church compound and had a great time. It has a nice peaceful vibe. If you are interested in places of worship, you could surely visit this church.

We visited the Botanical Garden in Ooty and had a great time. The garden is very clean, green, and well-maintained. It has a wide variety of flowers, plants, and big trees that make the place look beautiful and fresh. Walking around the garden was peaceful and relaxing. There are open spaces, shaded areas, and plenty of spots to sit and enjoy the surroundings. It’s also a nice place for taking photos and spending quiet time with family or friends. Overall, it’s a must-visit spot in Ooty for anyone who enjoys nature. We really enjoyed our visit and would love to go again!
Zabed N — Google review
One of the best in India. Wide variety of trees and plants. One speciality is the presence of a large number of imported plants. Everything is arranged so artistically and scientifically. There are enough walking space in between. The green grass fields are superb. There are lots of flowering plants in the garden, The flower show in April and May is a treat to watch. But if you go there at that time you may have to park the vehicle in a far away place and walk all the distance.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Peaceful and Colorful Escape in Ooty The Government Botanical Garden in Ooty is truly one of the most beautiful and relaxing places to visit in the hill station. Spread across a large area with rolling green lawns, vibrant flowerbeds, and a wide variety of plants and trees, it offers a refreshing escape into nature. The garden is extremely well maintained, and every corner feels picture-perfect. Walking through the garden is a wonderful experience, especially with Ooty’s cool and pleasant weather. The colorful flowers, tall trees, and neatly arranged paths make it a great spot for photography, picnics, or simply spending quiet time surrounded by nature. I particularly enjoyed the variety of exotic and native plants on display, as well as the calm and peaceful atmosphere throughout. The garden is quite spacious, so it’s worth taking your time to explore it fully. Families, couples, and nature lovers will all find something to enjoy here. It’s also a perfect place to relax after exploring the busy streets of Ooty town. Overall, the Botanical Garden is a must-visit attraction that captures the charm, color, and natural beauty that make Ooty so special.
Mohamed A — Google review
The Botanical Garden in Ooty, once known for its vibrant beauty and well-kept landscapes, has lost some of its charm over time. While it still attracts visitors for its historical significance and greenery, the overall maintenance has noticeably declined. The flower beds and lawns are not as well cared for as before, and there’s little to truly admire or feel excited about now. Many visitors feel that the garden no longer lives up to its earlier reputation, making it a rather average experience compared to what it used to be.
Sona B — Google review
I had an amazing experience at the Government Botanical Garden in Ooty. The place is filled with a wide variety of colorful flowers, surrounded by refreshing cold air and peaceful greenery. The natural beauty of the garden is truly mesmerizing and makes you feel close to nature. It’s a perfect place to relax, take photos, and enjoy a calm, refreshing atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Ooty.
Prajakta S — Google review
The botanical garden in Ooty was a really nice way to spend an afternoon. It's got a ton of different plants, and the layout is pretty cool, making it easy to wander around. The flower displays were particularly vibrant and well-maintained, which was a definite highlight. While it's definitely a popular spot, it didn't feel crowded when I visited. Overall, it’s a pleasant experience, though perhaps not the most groundbreaking botanical garden out there.

We had a great visit to the Government Botanical Garden in Ooty. The lawns are immaculate, the flower sections are well-labeled, and the glasshouse is worth a slow walk-through. Family-friendly, plenty of photo spots, and clean facilities. It gets busy after late morning, so arrive early.

Arulmigu Sri Erattai Mariamman Temple in Ooty is a popular destination, especially during the car festival when it gets crowded with dancing and festivities. Parking can be a challenge, so it's advisable to find a spot near Lower Bazaar or the bus stand. Despite the crowds, visiting during non-festival times allows for peaceful prayer and reflection inside the temple. The temple is revered for its powerful goddess and offers a serene atmosphere in the cold climate of Ooty.
It's a bliss place to visit during that car festival time it will be more crowded and dancing and all will be there... Parking will not be available that's the main thing you need to park somewhere near that lower Bazaar.... You need to search for parking from the temple till bus stand anyways you will get it but depends upon the crowd.,. Inside the temple it's really good if you go during non festival time you can sit peacefully and pray peacefully ..... For archana you need to get the ticket he will be sitting in front of the temple and flowers will be available on the right hand side of the temple Also the shoe stand will also be there Next to the temple.,. Nearby the temple lot of shops like fancy shops and then eatables hotels will be there.... The market is also there nearby the temple itself where a lot of things will be there ....

The Nilgiri District private Library, established in 1859, is a treasure trove of rare books and documents that offer a glimpse into the history of the Nilgiris and its hill tribes. The library's collection of around 30,000 books includes biographies, old books, and 19th-century British journals. Housed in an iconic Gothic building with brick red color and white details, the library stands as a testament to the 19th century.
A place time stands still A good friend suggested this place to me when I was planning a trip to Ooty . I suffer in crowded public places . Though the library was in the heart of the city , it had no visitors . The manager was very helpful and I could spend a few hours here . Lovely collection of books and Artefacts. Will go back for more soon
Jerry M — Google review
Such a disgustingly elitist place. The lady staff said that the membership is only for advocates and doctors. Was not eager to offer the membership to anyone else despite being ready to pay. And the price for the membership is also too exorbitant for no particular reason. Very disappointed that a library has closed their doors to eager readers and only want 'advocates and doctors' and noone else.
Priya C — Google review
Amazing place, the interiors are great, still has that historic vibes. All wooden shelf and ladder, good varieties of books. Friendly staffs.
Santhiya K — Google review
It is set in a British style bunglow. A wonderful large reading room with Vintage chairs and newspaper reading desks. A huge collection of fiction and non fiction books. The ficton ones are dated from 1970 and the non fiction from 1700. There is a section in the first floor where real old books are kept. One needs to be a member to enjoy it's benefits. Only members are allowed inside the library. Not open for public. There is sufficient car parking. This library takes you back in time to the British era.

Am a Life Member & consider this c. 160 year old Library an unique jewel of the Nilgiris.Housed in its own splendid building designed by the great Robert Fellowes Chisholm, a pioneer of Indo Gothic. Run with great dispatch & efficiency by my friend Ram Nambiar Hon Sec (he & the staff keep the building & books in great condition).
V S — Google review
This library is not for the people having less money, students and research scholars.Money is more important for them and they are doing good business with library actually. They don't know the value of time as well. Better to go Tribal Research Centre and HADP office for tribal studies, far better than this library. Please appoint people who understands the value of books and research rather than money. The behaviour of some people were also not good there. It's a terrible experience for me.

Nestled in the picturesque hill station of Ooty, the Murugan Temple, Elk Hill is a serene and spiritual destination. The temple features a magnificent 40-foot golden statue of Lord Murugan, reminiscent of the one in Kuala Lumpur. Set amidst lush pine and eucalyptus forests, this tranquil spot offers visitors a peaceful retreat to seek blessings and capture stunning photographs.
A vibrant and scenic Murugan temple located atop a hill—truly a feast for the eyes and soul. The natural beauty and pleasant climate around the temple make every visit special. I’ve been coming here since 2016, and it never fails to uplift. However, at some points, the route to this temple can be a bit challenging, so plan accordingly. A must-visit for both spiritual seekers and nature lovers.

I feel before you go to any place. You have to take permission of the local God and then start the trip. Likewise, we started our Ooty trip by visiting this temple first. Very, very nice temple, calm environment. Nice view at the top. Not much of stairs to climb not that difficult

Murugan Hill is a calm and divine spot, perfect for a short getaway or a peaceful visit. The view from the top is really beautiful, especially during sunrise or sunset. The temple on the hill gives a very positive and spiritual vibe. The surroundings are clean, and the climb is not too difficult. A great place to relax, pray, and enjoy nature’s beauty. Definitely worth visiting at least once!

Visited the Murugan Temple in the morning and had a peaceful experience. The temple is clean, well-maintained, and offers a beautiful view of the city skyline from the hilltop. While there are quite a few steps to climb, the effort is worth it. It wasn’t too crowded, and the main sanctum opens at 11:30 AM, good to keep in mind when planning your visit. There’s no entry fee, which is appreciated. A serene and spiritually uplifting place.

🌄 A Hidden Gem in the Hills – A Divine Experience at Murugan Temple I had the blessed opportunity to visit this serene Murugan Temple, beautifully nestled amidst misty hills and lush greenery. The temple’s architecture is stunning – vibrantly painted structures and a strikingly majestic golden Murugan statue overlooking the valley make this a visually divine experience. 🛕 Highlights & Specialties: Scenic Hilltop Location: Set against the backdrop of mist-covered mountains, the cool breeze and peaceful atmosphere instantly bring a sense of calm and spirituality. Colorful Gopurams & Steps: The multi-tiered steps leading up to the temple, with intricately painted Mandapams and shrines, add a unique charm. Climbing them is both a physical and spiritual journey. Golden Murugan Idol: A towering golden statue of Lord Murugan stands as the highlight — symbolizing strength, protection, and devotion. Tranquil Ambience: Far from city noise, the temple premises are ideal for meditation, prayers, and peaceful reflection. This is not just a place of worship but also a spiritual viewpoint and cultural treasure. Whether you're a devotee of Lord Muruga or a traveler seeking peace in nature, this temple is a must-visit spot. 🙏 Highly recommended for spiritual seekers, trekkers, and anyone wanting to reconnect with nature and inner calm.

Wonderful and unforgettable stay at the Ootacamund Club. We spent two nights there, enjoying both breakfast and dinner at the club. The food was delicious, with a limited but satisfying menu. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and exuded a charming vintage atmosphere. The club's landscape is beautifully maintained, adding to the overall appeal. Note: Be sure to follow the dress code in order to access the Bar and Dining Room, as per club rules.

What an experience to immerse yourself in 200 years of history. We stayed for a night and had dinner at the club dinning room. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. We also had a fireplace in our room which was lit for us after dinner. The rooms are quite chilly at night but given the age of the building it’s expected. Also we had a radiator which was a huge help. The beds are very comfortable. The one downside is we couldn’t get any herbal teas or cappuccinos. Would be great to have that choice.
Anastasia — Google review
I will start with the positives first as overall it was a very pretty and eye pleasing place . 1st - the place is ideal if u are staying with ur family as it has cottages with multiple rooms. The one we stayed in had one master bedroom one kids rooms with two single beds , one common area with fireplace one common bathroom and one more toilet with the dressing area . 2nd - it had vintage cottage vibes but it was really well kept and everything was neat and tidy . 3rd - the whole premise of the property is very well kept and maintained . 4th - food was also good but we only took breakfast there. 5th - the staff was courteous and were very keen on giving the guests their privacy throughout the stay . Now there were some things which slightly bothered us there like 1. The place was very quite and if u r going with small kids it’s not n ideal place . 2. It’s a club so it had some rules like - kids were not allowed to sit in common dining room , there was separate dining room for kids. We ended up sitting in kids dining room as we were not comfortable with leaving her alone . 3. U have to b properly dressed while entering the bar , dining area or the main building of the club. My sis was asked to leave the kids dining area as she was wearing distressed denim jeans which they asked politely but still we founded it rude. The dress code for the bar and dining room was formal dress for man and women which we saw a lot of foreigners nicely following and enjoying their time there . 4. If u are loud people u will have to really control ur voice there as it’s not considered proper there . At last I would say that we took it as an experience of its own kind and enjoyed our short 2 days stay there .

We were 3 families in total , and stayed there for 3 nights and 4 days , it was an amazing experience ! The property is beautiful with an amazing variety of flowers and trees. The service is really good as well. Our favourite part was the breakfast , other than that the other meals might be a bit monotonous but the taste and quality is amazing and home-like. It was a wonderful experience overall.

The Club is renowned not just for its history, but for the unique “Ooty Club culture.” This culture, defined by rules of conduct, dress, and discipline, thrives because it is deeply rooted in tradition. As the Club continues to grow in stature, it remains a benchmark of elegance and exclusivity in Indian club life. It was my first time stay and truly enjoyed the quietness, the ambiance and the sprawling gardens. The setting was proper, and the food was delicious, the staff courteous. They retained many of the picture frames and the decor. It’s a perfect getaway for the summer but one must make the booking as early as possible. The rooms are limited and many of the members make their bookings a year ahead. Well it’s a place to see and felt, do add it to your bucket list.

Wax World is a unique museum located just two kilometers from the main town of Ooty. Housed in a 130-year-old Colonial Mansion, it offers an entirely different ambiance for tourists to explore. The museum showcases handicrafts and products made by indigenous communities, including bee honey, bee wax, and hand-crafted artifacts. Additionally, visitors can find gourmet cheeses from Acres Wild Cheesemaking Farmstay in Coonoor.
Visited the Wax World. The statues feel as if they will just start talking. The place seems like it needs renovation as the interiors were in bad shape. Hoping people who visit donate as they are not supported by govt. Entry fees - 50/-
Raveena A — Google review
We had visited this small wax Museum located on the road to Tea Factory during our trip to Ooty 1st week of june in 2025. Entrance tickets are priced at ₹50 per person and for mobile photography priced at ₹10. The Museum is a small one showcasing wax idols of Mahatma Gandhi, Jesus Christ, Netaji Subhas Chandra, Sai Baba, Shivaji Maharaja and more. We did not visit the adjacent horror house.
ABHISHEK M — Google review
The museum houses life-size wax statues of famous personalities from history, culture, and politics, as well as some depictions of traditional Indian village life. The craftsmanship is decent, though not on the same level as international wax museums like Madame Tussauds. Still, it provides a good insight into art and creativity. The museum is compact, so you can explore it in about 30–45 minutes. It’s a nice stop for families and children, especially if you’re looking for something unique beyond nature spots. The entry fee is reasonable, and the location is easy to access from the main Ooty town. While it may not be a “must-visit,” it is worth checking out if you have extra time in your itinerary.
Sridhar S — Google review
It's a small wax museum run privately. Ticket price is on the higher side. Interested people can visit it.
Manab T — Google review
Ok ok…. Need major revamp. Rs50 per person charge is there.
Madhav K — Google review
its doubtfull that, are that statues really made of WAX ! Or making fool the tourists!! iam not sure those are made of WAX or not, because no choice to touch or observe them closely, I think it's just a looting the tourists
MR W — Google review
The tickets were reasonably priced at Rs 50, taking into account the significance of talent. However, the place is in need of better maintenance and improved lighting. On a positive note, they have an impressive display of wax statues portraying famous freedom fighters and renowned political leaders.
Narendran D — Google review
If you're short on time while exploring Ooty, you can skip the wax museum. It features roughly 20 to 25 statues, but unfortunately, many of them are not in good condition and lack proper maintenance. The experience doesn’t justify the ticket price, as there’s nothing particularly exciting or unique about it. Overall, it’s a very average attraction and not worth prioritizing during your visit.

Wax Planet is a popular wax museum located inside the Ice Thunder campus in Ooty. It features lifelike wax models of famous personalities such as Gandhi Ji, Obama, Johnny Depp, and even offers the opportunity to play KBC with Amitabh Bachchan and meet Iron Man. Visitors praise the realistic detailing of the models, particularly noting the attention-grabbing eyes and impressive skin detailing.
I only visited the Wax Planet, Ooty, in the evening instead of the whole amusement park Thunder World which might be more cost effective I think. The carpark was located less than 100m away. I bought my Wax Planet entry ticket at the Main Kiosks which wasn’t crowded and put on my wrist tag before entering the designated area. This wasn’t a big museum as compared with Madame Tussauds in Bangkok, Delhi, Hong Kong and Singapore but it did house many life-sized wax figurines which were excellently and distinctly made. Everything smelled new. Figurines were appealing and there were good lightings and props to go with. Highly appreciated the greetings of the figurine of Mother Theresa here. It was so realistic. Personally, others were generally good like the figurines of Mahatma Ghandi, Obama, Donald Trump, Modi and Putin and actors Bruce Willis and Hugh Jackman. This museum was small scale unlike the one in Delhi which the wax figurines were widely spaced out. So I spent about a good 25-minutes here. There was a horse riding service along the road outside for those who were keen to go for it. Family with kids generally would go for the entire coverage of Thunder World and Wax Planet. Good to drop by if one is in Ooty.
Tiffy K — Google review
Good for children but it costs high 650 for adults and 550 for children.... U can't see wax museum alone as they charge for both thunder world and wax museum together.... I would recommend for wax museum which I felt worth but not thunder world...

The place is amazing! Every statue looks so realistic. Even the background for each statue looks authentic. It's like stealing a memory from every famous person and making ourselves a part of it. Definitely must visit when in Ooty.

A definite hidden gem. Was really a fun n memorable meet n greet with famous personalities from past and present.
Arun B — Google review
Completely useless. We wanted to visit only wax planet as we have just 2 hours for return bus. Initially mentioned it is 200 per head for adults and while paying for same, they said it is not available separately and we have to buy a Thunder World package for 650 per head where all other attractions are useless and just for kids. This is nothing but looting people's money but we saved 400 bucks and they lost 400. They should learn how to do business at least. I wouldn't suggest this.
Stark — Google review
wax planet was an unforgettable experience that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped inside, I was transported into a world of lifelike replicas and historical figures brought to life through impeccable artistry. One of the highlights was the attention to detail in each wax figure. From celebrities to historical icons, every figure was incredibly realistic, down to the smallest facial features and expressions.
INFINITY — Google review
Amazing experience. All the wax statues are looking like a real persons. All the work done for making the statues is really appreciated. Must visit place in ooty. I would missed this place if the sales person/ owner is not invited me when I out from the thunder world. Thanks for your invite.

Nestled near the picturesque Ooty Botanical Gardens, the Government Museum is a delightful gem that invites visitors to explore the vibrant cultural and natural heritage of the Nilgiri region. Established in 1989, this charming museum serves as a window into local history, showcasing an impressive array of tribal artifacts, archaeological treasures, and exhibits dedicated to the area's unique flora and fauna.
Beautiful place to visit if you art enthusiast. Most important thing I like about the government museum is the building which is completely made of stone. Building architecture is excellent and one does not stop looking at it again and again. Construction of such type of building is impossible in modern world. The building was constructed in early part of 19th century possibly in 1823. The museum depicts tribal culture particularly those of the todas. Other artifacts depicting local culture and history are also kept in the museum. Must visit site.

Visited the Stone House Museum in Ooty and had a lovely time! It’s a compact but well-curated place showcasing tribal culture, colonial history, and Nilgiri wildlife. Highlights include Toda artifacts, old photographs, and preserved animal specimens—perfect for anyone curious about Ooty’s roots. The museum is kid-friendly, and there’s plenty to see for both adults and children. However, be aware there’s a staircase to the upper floor, so not fully accessible for elderly visitors or those with mobility challenges. There’s a small entry fee, and photography requires an extra ticket. Also, no restroom facilities inside, so please plan ahead. ✅ Cleanliness: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ✅ Exhibit Quality: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ✅ Accessibility: ⭐️⭐️ ✅ Family-Friendliness: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ✅ Overall Experience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A charming, quick stop to get a glimpse into Ooty’s history and heritage!

The museum had only a few exhibits, so there wasn’t much to see overall. It’s not something I would strongly recommend, but if you have some free time and happen to be nearby, you can consider visiting it once. It might be worth a quick stop, but don’t expect too much.

🪨 Stone House, Ooty – A Glimpse into Colonial History! 🏛️ Our visit to the Stone House Museum in Ooty was a truly enriching experience. As seen in the photo, the majestic stone architecture and vintage charm of this historical building immediately take you back in time. Built during the British colonial period, this is one of the oldest British bungalows in Ooty — a true heritage site. 🌲 Surroundings & Ambience Set amidst lush greenery and the cool, misty climate of Ooty, the museum’s atmosphere is peaceful and pleasant. The stone pathways, beautiful lawn, and old-world design all contribute to a nostalgic and serene feeling. 🖼️ What to Expect Inside Inside, you’ll find antique furniture, historical artifacts, and photographs that tell the story of Ooty’s colonial past and local culture. For those interested in history, architecture, or just looking to explore something unique, this place is a must-visit. 👨‍💼 Our Suggestion While the museum is well maintained, we believe that the staff could improve their interaction with visitors to make the experience even more informative and welcoming. 📸 Overall, Stone House is a perfect spot for families, history buffs, and photographers alike. We highly recommend including it in your Ooty itinerary!

Kandal Cross Shrine, also known as the Calvary of Tamil Nadu, is a Roman Catholic church located near Udhagamandalam Railway Station. It is believed to house a relic of the true cross and is considered a powerful place where wishes come true. The shrine, founded in 1933 by French priest Paul Crayssac, is popular for its tranquil atmosphere and colorful sanctuary.
The Church has a history and is a pilgrimage. A relic of the True Cross is blessed and kept her for viewing. A blessed place.

It’s a Holy shrine , where people from various religion will come to pray . Once you r inside the Holy church you yourself can feel the positive vibrations. So silent. Abundant parking . Surrounded by many trees and Nature looks great over there . May 3rd is a special day which is considered as annual feast of the shine . Though little far away from Ooty , it is worth visiting. Especially for the believers.

Kurisadi Shrine was truly a powerful and soul-stirring place. It carried an aura unlike any other — calm, sacred, and deeply moving. The entire surroundings radiated holiness, while the church itself felt vibrant, uplifting, and truly miraculous. We were blessed to witness the first copy of the Shroud of Saints, which made our visit even more meaningful. The atmosphere around the shrine was serene and filled with peace. Within the premises stood several beautiful representations of Mother Mary — Our Lady of Lourdes, Mother Mary of Health, and many others — each enshrined gracefully under individual domes, exuding devotion and tranquility. The highlight of the visit was the Gethsemane Grotto perched atop the hill, surrounded by tall, majestic pine trees. The setting was breathtaking — a perfect blend of nature’s beauty and divine presence, offering a sense of peace and reflection. Every Friday, the church extends its love by offering lunch to the community and visitors — a truly heartwarming gesture of faith and compassion. Kurisadi Shrine is an incredibly beautiful and blessed place — peaceful, powerful, and filled with divine grace. It is undoubtedly a must-visit for anyone seeking spiritual solace amidst nature’s embrace. Happy to meet Fr Jayakumar who shared few insights about the church.

The Google map took us to the point where we had to walk atleast a km to reach the church through narrow and absolutely dirty way. There is a waste water treatment plant also on they way. Finally we reached the church and was surprised to see cars parked in the premises of the church. We were informed by a visitor that there is a motorable road from another side. Told the driver to take that route when he came to pick us up. When we visited, the church was undergoing renovation. The church wad open from the sides. It is a beautiful church, indeed.

A nice shrine to visit in Ooty. May 3rd is the huge festival. Fame name is 'kurusadi". A long way of cross in lent days usually held on Sunday before the easter is very famous. It is alike the way of cross of manapad @ tuticorin ( Tamilnadu). The walk is around 6 km . It starts from Sacret heart church Ooty to kurusadi with parish people. It is really divine to see the real crosses. All vehicles go to the shrine any days except the festival seasons.... Pros Good place to meditate Nature covered area Public Transport available up to kaandhal. Hiring vehicles available at kaandhla to kurusadi. Cons No shops are available around church premises.

This Shrine is a must visit. Its popularly known as Kurusadi. It has the sacred piece of Jesus Christ cross. It's located bit interior and the way Google map shown was wrong , we just reached here with the help of local people suggesting the way. The church administration or the Ooty municipality must have some sign boards or hoardings to make it easy for the people. It has parking area too. We were able to see two dark monkeys near the church gate, which made my daughter amused. The church is near to Ooty lake.

Nawanagar Palace at Aramby Ridge is a stunning architectural gem that many travelers dream of visiting, especially fans of its cinematic appearances. Unfortunately, this magnificent palace is privately owned and access for visitors is quite limited. While it may be possible to catch a glimpse from afar, the gates remain closed to the public most of the year. The owner, a prominent Gujarati businessman, permits entry only during specific months for filming purposes in December.
