Choo Choos at the Marina is a unique and charming café located in Port Douglas, offering a delightful experience for visitors of all ages. Housed in a restored train platform, this iconic café provides sweeping views of the marina and mountains. While kids are enchanted by the whimsical atmosphere, adults can indulge in specialty frozen cocktails that capture the tropical essence of Far North Queensland. For those seeking a leisurely morning, Choo Choos at St.
Great atmosphere here at Choo Choo’s and very friendly staff that come and engage to check on the needs and satisfaction of the patrons. Really enjoyed the chicken satay salad that’s light and nice. The fish and chips come in generous portion and the chips are one of the best I had since I arrive in Cairns, well done in crisps! The pull pork tacos is also one that you must order as the pork is tender and with the right balance of meat, vegetables, salsa and guacamole.
Cynthia T — Google review
Nice place on the marina. Ordered banana bread - would have been nice if it came heated up, was a tad bland (in my opinion). Was definitely a good serving size for $13 👌 Scrambled eggs on toast - very nice, and cooked well Pakoras - ok, for something different, a bit greasy Cappuccino & iced latte were rated high by the coffee drinkers
R — Google review
The food was delicious! We were seated promptly and the service was amazing. It’s beautiful sitting along the marina especially if you were planning to go on a tour after. Highly recommend.
Victor G — Google review
I spent a few days in Port Douglas and had breakfast at Choo Choos. It was an amazing experience—the place is really nice, clean, and welcoming. I ordered the eggs benedict, and they were honestly some of the best I’ve ever had! The portion was generous and the hollandaise sauce was served in just the right amount (plenty, which I love). I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone visiting Port Douglas!
Antonella G — Google review
Quite possibly the best spot for brekkie in Port Douglas, I only say possibly breccias I won’t be going anywhere else while we’re here! Quaint ambience, great coffee, friendly service & the most delicious high quality food I’ve had in a long time! Try the kungpao mushrooms & rice breakfast pudding
Lana S — Google review
We tried to order the french toast with honey instead if Jam - told not possible. Ordered the chilli eggs which were soaked in sauces making everything soggy. Also a Regular serve of poached eggs also arrived with soggy toast
Marnie H — Google review
Very tasteful place for breakfast, food was great and so was the service and location, will come back again when in Port Douglas
Dennis G — Google review
This is a charming coffee shop, good to visit. The staff are very friendly, nice, but not really helpful or obliging for customers. Very basic approach to food service, can not alter off the menu. For example we had to order a side of sour dough bread, as we wanted a B.L.A.T, but no turkish bread. Good reason given that cook was on their own , and couldn't change. But lost us as we had to pay an extra $8 for the extra bread. Again good spot, great coffee, but not a place for food, when 3 doors up you can choose what you want and build your breakfast. And a subtle suggestion, remember small road blocks like food options just mean customers may not return... also notice the knife and fork dump today compared to yesterday, because we "complained "

Cafe Fresq in Port Douglas is a popular spot for all-day breakfast, offering a variety of vegetarian and vegan options alongside hearty meals like smashed avocado, chorizo baked eggs, and crispy pork belly baguette. Located on Macrossan Street, this cafe is known for its fantastic coffee, fresh juices, and tropical breakfast and lunch menu. It's a favorite among locals and visitors alike due to its delicious offerings and accommodating service.
Nice lively atmosphere here. We got an oat Capp and a flat white (both came in mugs). The brunch we got was pretty delicious: eggs benny and Avo eggs! Expensive compared to Sydney but I think that is the norm up here… Would recommend!
Andy M — Google review
Nice seating area outside. We had coffees, the big breakfast and the smashed avo bruschetta with a grilled egg white. The brushetta was so yummy and fresh. It was light yet filling. Service was quick. The coffee was okay, not sure if there was a size option or not, we didn't specify which size when ordering but they were large. The cost was approx $70 something in total. I would recommend 👌
Chrispy — Google review
Had breakfast here 18/9/25. Chia pudding was outstanding, kudos to the one who prepared it. My cappuccino was good too but a little milky for my liking, I tend to like it bitter. Overall though a great location and pleasant experience. Wouldn’t hesitate to dine here again.
Craig J — Google review
This bustling cafe is popular with locals and tourists alike. The coffee is excellent, including the decaf with lots of flavour. I loved my Coconut Chia Pudding. The base chia pudding is incredibly Moorish with the seasonl fruit topping (papaya, raspberries and strawberries) and coconut and hazelnut crumb excellent balancing acts. It's vegan, GF and a great change up from the normal bacon and eggs. The breakfast board could do with a fashion makeover, but it's difficult to make gluten-free toast look amazing. Give this breakfast institution in Port Dougkass a try.
Alan B — Google review
Excellent, friendly service. Great breakfast board...delicious! Refreshing mixed juice and excellent coffee. Thankyou for making our meal in Port Douglas positive and memorable.
Susan D — Google review
Cafe Fresq is a very good place in Port Douglas for breakfast! The staff are friendly, the food is great and the value is reasonably good. The cooks know how to make the perfect Eggs Benedict! They used to offer Eggs Benny with smoked salmon. While that is sadly not currently on the menu, the mushroom option is a very good substitute. The Irish ladies that own and operate this business know what they are doing and do it very well indeed! The staff who served us were friendly and professional. This is a busy place for breakfast and lunch but the food and service never disappoint. Keep doing what you are doing as we love coming here every time we are in Port Douglas :-)

Absolutely delicious food! The best chia pudding I’ve ever had, very good quality. Pleasant service. Lots of gluten free coeliac safe options. Recommend.

We came here on our last day in Port Douglas and I’m so glad we did. It was the best breakfast we had out The smashed avocado bruschetta was amazing, the best I’ve ever had. The service was great and the coffee was also great. Highly recommend to anyone visiting PD.

Whether you're in the mood for classic buttermilk pancakes or a breakfast fried rice with local prawns, chorizo, and vegetables, Lure has something to satisfy every palate.
The Service Food and atmosphere with our little dog while at LURE was wonderful. Their chef really can cook exceptional food. We went 2 days in a row. It is definitely up there with the best food in Por Douglas whole being located on the beautiful Port Douglas Mariana
Wayne B — Google review
Came here for brunch with the kids, while the Wednesday market was on. Was not busy and had a nice relaxed feel. Prices are a little high, but they’re right on the marina. Staff were attentive and friendly. Coffee was good and everyone except the youngest was happy with the food. The youngest complained about the kids pancakes having “weird” syrup, but I’m sure it was fine. The Reuben sandwich was great! It might seem small, but it’s very filling. Try it! We’ll probably come back for happy hour later 😉.
Andrew G — Google review
REVIEW BY SUZANNE JOHNSON Lure provided our group of 4 ladies with an amazing lunch experience. The food was excellent, the service friendly, professional and immediately obliging when we asked for amendments to the size of courses so that we could share. The location of our table - requested in our booking - was perfect. We spent almost 3 hours there and enjoyed every moment. Many thanks to the 2 wonderful staff members who made our outing memorable.
Sue L — Google review
A favourite on our annual holiday to Port Douglas and the view! We have had breakfast here many times over the years and it has always been a lovely experience. (The scones are yum as well). The food is delicious and great coffee. The staff are exceptional, always friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to coming back next year!
Helen M — Google review
Had a really good lunch. Needed a place that would accommodate us with our little dog and these guys were the best. Had oysters and their fish of the day which was exceptional. But best of all were the ladies serving us - all so friendly and efficient- one of the few places in Australia I’ve been to when your table is cleared after you’re finished eating.
Keith M — Google review
We had the best night sitting looking at the sunset and enjoying our tappa style dinner. The platter was delightful, with a great mix of cheeses and meats. And the small plates were fabulous. Staff were friendly and helpful. The view just topped off nicely. Group of 11.

A lovely spot for brunch, highly recommend booking a board walk table as you get to sit right by the water looking out at the yachts - absolutely dreamy. Delicious food and great service. It's a little bit of a walk from Macrossan Street.

Lovely setting for lunch, friendly helpful staff. Mid week seems not as busy as the weekends. Delicious, top notch tiger prawns, fish and chips and soft shell crab tacos. Great service. We went back! Local beer would make it perfect! Doesn't open for dinner

What an amazing find! We googled "bakery" but somehow ended up here. Weren't we lucky. Amazing service by the French gentleman, very attentive and friendly. Absolutely delicious food! Potato Rossti and the pancakes were amazing! Best food of our Cairns/Port Douglas trip. Lovely views of a golf course and a little body of water underneath. Would recommend this to anyone in the area.
Ryan S — Google review
Right, so, if you're after a decent caffeine fix and a bit of greenery, this place ticks all the boxes. Great coffee, the kind that kicks you into gear without tasting like burnt rubber. They've got some thirst quenchers too, perfect for a hot arvo. The food? Solid. Nothing fancy, but tasty and filling. Perfect for a casual bite while you soak up the view. And that view? Overlooking the golf course, which is surprisingly relaxing, even if you don't know your birdies from your bogies. It's a laid-back spot, ideal for a lazy morning or afternoon. Good coffee, good vibes, and a decent view
Krish — Google review
Magnificent location! We had a takeaway breakfast as we had an early morning activity. We would have loved to sit on the terrace overlooking the river and the golf course. And the meal was delicious!
Audrey R — Google review
St. Crispins cafe is a great little spot for breakfast, lunch or brunch! The cafe offers an impressive view of the nearby mountains beyond the golf course, which makes for the perfect spot to enjoy a delicious meal. We were given menus and a rundown of the day’s specials as soon as we sat down, and we were able to order at the bar whenever we pleased. Overall, I would recommend the buttermilk pancakes, smashed avo on toast, poached eggs on toast and the crepe with smoked salmon.
Christian C — Google review
Do yourself a favour, and treat yourself to amazing food, service, and atmosphere. Relaxed vibe with delicious local food, generous portions. Suggest to book to make sure you don’t miss out. Great coffee goes without saying at a high class place like this. 10 out of 10. Been twice now.
Roslyn S — Google review
Really lovely spot for brunch. The food is fantastic and the views are great. The coffee is really nice, and the juices really fresh. Just note that there is a 10% surcharge on the weekends.
Ana B — Google review
One of the best breakfasts we've had anywhere. Coffee was excellent. Very very tasty. The view was great over the water and over to the nearby golf course. Hearing some noise, we noticed other diners pointing out the crocodile in the water, who was watching the golf course ( for golf balls or actual golfers?) I would highly recommend this venue.
John — Google review
We only stopped in here for a morning coffee and cake but what I can you is that this place is VERY EXPENSIVE. I paid $7 for a small pot of tea where anywhere else is charging maybe $5.50. Also ordered a kids milkshake which came in a plastic ikea cup and was also $7. They also charge hefty surcharges (15% on weekends and 20% on public holidays). But seeing as though it’s the only cafe around they can do what they like.

The cafe also serves small-batch roasted specialty coffee and a variety of hot pies, including steak, prawn, coral trout, jungle curry, and vegetarian options.
We had the pistachio croissant, custard cronut and coffee. They were all delicious and tasty. Highly recommended. There are seats outside the shop which is convenient.

My girlfriend had a bacon and eggs burger and a pot of English breakfast tea. I had a cappuccino and an Apple pie Everything was very good, except for the apple pie that was clearly raw. Had a chat with the waiter about that and then I swapped it for a plain croissant, which was really nice. Very nice and professional staff, definitely recommend.
Riccardo Z — Google review
Had the Smashed Avo on toast. It was okay, I don’t recall seeing the ingredients for this dish and was surprised to see cucumber and tomatoes which I sometimes avoid. Staff however were friendly and accommodating. Biggest plus is this place being open at 6 am. Would recommend if you need early breakfast.
Josh L — Google review
Perfect place to have breakfast, open early, friendly stuff with great food, pastries and coffee! I spent three nights at Port Douglas and all three mornings had breakfast here.
Julia K — Google review
Delicious food, muffins were still warm this morning! Crew were lovely! Was our fav spot this trip! Only downside was not enough time to try everything haha.
Caleb P — Google review
I do love to find a bakery cafe anywhere I go on holidays, and this was the one I locked onto in Port Douglas, for my morning coffee and snack. Friendly service, good coffee, and plenty of good baked goods. I had an almond croissant one day, a muesli slice another, and a pumpkin and ricotta pie for lunch on a third. All three were excellent. There are a few indoor seats and some tables outside, but it was always pretty busy so I just takeaway and strolled the short distance to the park to enjoy it. Well recommended!!
David C — Google review
Prawn and Coral Trout pie had very thick pastry and was full of peas, a little bit of fish and no prawns. No seafood taste. Tasted like peas.
Travers P — Google review
Best sausage rolls in port Douglas. My son wanted one every day of his holiday. We also loved the cinnamon griffin, jam donut and veggie wrap (although slightly too much pesto for me). Make sure you try their specials at the market on Sunday. They had a delicious savoury pastry with baked vegetables. Highly recommended.

Hi Tide by the beach is a licensed restaurant with stunning views of Four Mile Beach. The menu offers decadent options like Blue Spanner Crab and Black Garlic Butter Pappardelle, as well as unique dishes such as Hi Tide's Signature Chowder with Australian pipis, tiger prawns, and crocodile. This cozy beachside eatery provides a classy yet casual dining experience.
I was a guest here for 5 days and had plenty of opportunity to discover what a delightful place this is to stay and dine in North Queensland. Our room included a full breakfast with coffees and juices served at our table on the veranda in the restaurant. We also had dinner at the restaurant on two evenings following the great happy hour and the food was outstanding. Service was friendly and efficient. I really cannot say enough good things about this place.
Greg V — Google review
Beautiful location. Our meal was forgotten,(I asked after 25mins) when asked, the young girl quickly put the order through, then got another staff to tell us it was coming. Don't ever do that, own it and fix it. First rule of hospitality. This put a sour taste in our mouth, so the experience wasn't what it should have been. Never handball a stuff up.
Kat R — Google review
We picked Hi Tide for the beachside views for our group brunch. We chose our seating and made our booking 10 days in advance. We received a booking reminder 24 hours previous to our booking and arrived a few minutes early. On arrival we were prepared to wait, however, we were told that they were preparing our table. Then we were told that they would seat us by the pool, which is secluded with no beachside view. I mentioned our booking which requested a view and they somehow found us a table for our group. The best part about Hi Tide is the views. We ordered drinks: Iced Matcha's, Banana Smoothie's, Iced Chai and all of them were below standard in taste. We ordered our food: crepes, build your own beakfasts. A few of the sides were missed from the orders. The staff were not friendly or polite. It made a rather awkward atmosphere

A lovely, laid-back spot for brunch. The food was delicious and staff were very friendly. Love that you have ocean views - just gorgeous. There were some mix-ups with our order, but otherwise a great little spot for breakfast.

Fabulous location! It's a slow paced service I get it but when iwe went there it was not even busy. It you are expecting fast - paced service you may not enjoy it. Happy hour was worth it. The cocktails were nice. Lunch menu offers more options than dinner menu. I don't think they have kids menu (I didn't ask for it). It is a proper full meal and way to big for kids. Breakfast was great. We love your egg Benedict.

We had the Wagyu Rump Steake and the Hi Tide Salad both were delicious and for dessert we had Baked Cheesecake and Decadent Chocolate Platter very tasty. Sorry I forgot to to take a photo of Dinner

Great location. We went for breakfast which was ok but couldn't believe they made our coffees in filthy cups... you could see where someone else had drunk from them and they had old dried coffee stains down the sides and around the rim. We asked for fresh cups of course.

Cafe Ziva, located on Macrossan Street, is a popular spot known for its classic breakfast menu and top-notch coffee. The cafe offers mouth-watering options like the decadent 3 stack pancakes with banana, Nutella, and almonds, as well as breakfast bruschetta and vegetarian omelette. It's a welcoming place where locals and visitors gather to enjoy good coffee, juices, hearty breakfasts, gourmet burgers, and cakes in a relaxed atmosphere.
Cafe Ziva in Port Douglas is a delightful spot that blends a relaxed tropical vibe with genuinely excellent coffee and service. Nestled in the heart of Macrossan Street, this café is an easy choice for anyone seeking a quality coffee experience or a cozy break from exploring the area. One of the standout aspects of Cafe Ziva is their attention to detail when it comes to making drinks. Their hot chocolate is particularly noteworthy—it’s rich, smooth, and has just the right balance of sweetness and depth. Unlike some places where hot chocolates can be overly milky or syrupy, theirs has a satisfying cocoa flavor that lingers in the best way. It’s clear they take pride in making it properly, and the result is a comforting, well-crafted drink that’s perfect for both cool mornings and warm afternoons. For those who appreciate a more adventurous take on coffee, their oat milk cappuccino with turmeric is an absolute winner. The oat milk is perfectly steamed, giving it a creamy and silky texture that pairs beautifully with the warmth of turmeric. The turmeric itself isn’t overpowering but adds a lovely earthiness and a hint of spice, complementing the coffee’s natural flavors. It’s the kind of drink that feels both indulgent and nourishing at the same time—a rare combination that’s hard to get just right. Beyond the drinks, Cafe Ziva shines with its welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Service is quick, professional, and always accompanied by a warm smile, making it clear that the team values their customers. The café also has a relaxed and inviting setup, making it a great spot to sit and watch the world go by while enjoying your coffee. Whether you’re after a classic hot chocolate, a well-crafted specialty coffee, or just a friendly place to start your day, Cafe Ziva delivers with consistency and charm. It’s the kind of café you find yourself returning to, knowing that each visit will be just as good as the last. Highly recommended!

This is a nice place to come and have a cup of coffee or a snack. The coffee was very flavoursome but could have been a little bit hotter. It is situated directly across from the port Village Shopping Centre and tends to be quite noisy with the traffic. However, the location is good as it is central and easy to find. We have had a breakfast here before in the past and it was really good.

Went to Port Douglas and stepped into Cafe Ziva for lunch. We ordered Pan Cakes and Vegetarian Toasties. Pan cake stack with Vanilla Ice cream, Banana, Maple Syrup and chopped roasted Almonds was delicious. The toastie was tasty too.

Rest rooms are super tidy and clean for guests. Reception is always there to assist with whatever you need. Shuttle bus into town is regular or there are scooters and bikes if you prefer. We absolutely love this place and never stay anywhere else when in PD. Thanks Oaks for yet another comfortable and accommodating stay. Can’t wait to see you all again.

We had a great stay at Oaks port Douglas. Rooms were clean and nice and spacious. We had the buffet breakfast included in our stay and we always found it great and catered to our needs. The pool area was great and so was the pool bar. The staff were always so helpful and friendly! A great place to stay for the price! I would definitely go back! No issues with the wifi either :)

Had a great 3 night stay at the resort. We had a well furnished 1 bedroom apartment and the swimming pool was top-notch. Only gripe is, we didn't have room service at all for 3 days (even though we hung up the sign for room service). Not a big issue for a 3-day stay though, the reception was open 24 hours for extra towels/amenities.

We had a fabulous 5 night stay at The Oaks. Rooms were great, clean and furnishings were modern. Beds were a little soft for my liking but none the less comfortable. The restaurants within the resort were great and had plenty to choose from. Location was convenient - only a 5 minute drive to the main street of Port Douglas. The included buffet breakfast each morning was a great addition. The pool is also fantastic. Great for kids as it is not too deep. Overall, a great vibe and would highly recommend for families.

After reading a lot of negative reviews and such a cheap deal with Jetstar holidays we really weren’t expecting much but we were extremely happy with our stay. The hotel and surroundings were incredibly clean. Room was very modern. The pool and pool bar were great and the restaurant was lovely especially outside. The food at all times was up to a great standard. My only feedback would be to have more of a bar area that’s separate to the eating area with maybe Happy Hour or cocktail of the day etc we will be back for a lovely resort stay.

The first thing I want to mention is the breakfast. It wasn’t anything fancy, but I could truly feel the chef’s sincerity in every dish. That morning, the chef had a tattoo on his left arm and a hunched back, and he kept checking the food and cooking with real dedication. I’m genuinely grateful for the delicious breakfast. The reception staff were also very friendly and explained everything clearly—it was a really pleasant experience. The swimming pool was spotless and well-maintained, which added to the overall positive impression. One downside was the cleanliness of the room. The bed cover looked yellowed and old, with visible stains in several spots. The carpet was also quite dirty. Interestingly, the room I stayed in was connected to the neighboring room by a door. Although it was locked, I could hear everything from the next room. Also, the room didn’t seem to be soundproof, so I heard a lot of noise throughout my stay.

Our stay at The Oaks Hotel Port Douglas was absolutely incredible from start to finish! The resort was beautiful, clean, and relaxing — the perfect tropical escape. Everything from the check-in to the poolside vibes was seamless and stress-free. The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming, and every single staff member greeted us with a smile. It truly felt like home away from home, just with palm trees and sunshine! 🌴☀️ Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and helpful — truly the best experience we’ve had. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. A special thank you to the amazing team, especially Charlotte, Adam, the lovely Maltese girl, and the Spanish girl — you all made our trip unforgettable! 💙 Kind regards Zoe, Leah& George

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Was nervous due to some bad reviews, however it seems that some rooms have been recently renovated and some have not. So check when you book. Comfortable and spacious bedroom, everything you need, no issues at all as we were in a renovated room. Not sure what the others are like. Nice curtains, large comfy bed, good air con, large screen TV in lounge. Pool was great as were all the staff. Regular shuttles into the township for $5 each way.

Italian restaurant
The Beach Shack La Cucina + Bar is a casual dining spot located at the southern end of Four Mile Beach in Port Douglas. It offers a mix of Australian and Italian cuisine, with popular items including fish and chips, steak, chicken parmigiana, and especially their delicious pizzas. Visitors have raved about the quality of food here, particularly praising dishes like the garlic prawn pizza, caprese salad with fresh mozzarella, and tiramisu.
I was a bit hesitant to go because there were many mixed reviews, but my husband and I decided to try it anyway. This is not in the main area of Port Douglas but a little bit further out and as we had a car for the day decided it would be worth giving it a go. I am so glad we did. It is set in a lovely atmosphere, eating out in the open although under a covered canopy and there were plenty of customers. We started with the Grilled Prawns which were delicious. I then had the mussels, and my husband had a pizza (which we can’t remember which one but was fairly plain as he wanted to add the Italian sausage and spicy salami). Both meals were wonderful. We also had the Ciabatta which came with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and garlic butter. It was good to be able to have all three. Service was great, the food was great, and the atmosphere was great. We will be going back when we are in Port Douglas again.

I went to The Beach Shank looking for a quick lunch, and it completely exceeded my expectations! They have a great deal on panini for $18, where you can choose your own ingredients. the bread quality was excellent and the size was just right I also went for happy hour, where Peroni beers were only $10. I tried the oysters and a piña colada too, and both were delicious. Overall, a really great experience!

Ordered the Maialino pizza - the best pizza I have ever had 🙌🏼. Solid pan depth, fluffy dough, crunchy crust, the Italian sausage had so much flavour! The salami had good amount of spice. The garlic focaccia had great flavour of garlic, rosemary and oregano! The lamb pappardelle also had great flavours. The restaurant was away from the town but worth the 7 minute drive out. Fast service and food came quickly.

We had a great experience overall. The calamari was very tender, and the ciabatta was fresh and delicious. The pizza was large and full of flavour. Service was friendly and quick, and the venue itself looked really nice and inviting. Only downside was the music—it was a bit too loud at times, which made conversation a little difficult. Otherwise, definitely worth a visit!

Currently taking my parents from overseas on a little holiday in QLD and came across this place while staying in Port Douglas. Neither my dad nor me are big eaters, but OMG he loved his pizza so much he ate the whole thing while constantly nodding and saying how good it is. I have to say the same about the food I ordered with a special shout for the fresh Ciabatta. I was expecting a few slices but got a full loaf, steaming hot and this incredible olive oil... Needless to say that we all were very happy with our meals and the service we received and can only recommend going there. Portions were very well sized, too. Thanks for having us!

It’s a shame we discovered this place just as our holidays were ending! The pizza was so good, and my husband loved the seafood pasta. We also enjoyed some nice coffee before heading back to the airport today, the perfect end to a lovely time in Port. We’ll definitely be back next time!

Dined here several times during our stay in Port Douglas. Food and service was excellent, family friendly restaurant - 10/10
Joel — Google review
Beautiful place but very average tasting meals, especially for the price. The lasagna was cold in the middle and piping hot on the edges, indicating it was frozen and then microwaved. Prawn pasta lacked flavour, so salt and pepper were needed and although al dente was attempted for the actual pasta, it was a little undercooked still. Some staff were extremely friendly and helpful, but others were not. For example we asked for the bill and were just given it and then left to our own devices for quite some time before we needed to ask another waiter if they bring the eftpos machine or if we have to go up. Very expensive for average meals

Nestled in the serene area of Four Mile Beach, Kai Port Douglas is a charming bistro that has quickly become a favorite among families and locals alike. Recently recognized as one of Far North Queensland's top family dining spots, this delightful eatery offers a unique twist on traditional pub fare. With dishes like yellow seafood curry, 24-hour smoked beef brisket, and barramundi paired with quinoa, even the pickiest eaters will find something to love.
First meal nowhere near Macrossin Street, Kai is situated 10 minutes out of town. It is still casual dining but the menu is a little more varied than we have seen else where. We ordered the Coral Trout Cevice, flat bread with burrata to start which were both very nice. Our mains included fish and chips, lip mussels in a spicy tomato broth, pan fried Coral Trout fillet in a delicious sauce. And amazing onion rings for the kids. We finished with homemade tiramisu their only dessert. The place is busy, everyone looked happy with their orders especially the lady on the table next to us who was served a mountain of baby back ribs which her whole family helped her eat. The staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely eat here again

Nothing bad to say about this place, it was our last night in Aus before we have to travel back to the UK. We definitely saved the best till last. Staff, food, service, everything was great. Compliments to the chefs.

Had starters and mains such as yellow seafood curry, oyster and steak. Full marks for the steak and the seafood curry but the oyster sauce was a bit salty. Portion size was generous with good pricing. Service is good. One mark less for the wait time being too long, however the staffs were really sweet.

Easy to reserve a table, friendly staff, absolutely scrumptious food! Best brisket dish in my life!!! A little out of the way but well worth the drive. There's also a sports bar right next door if you want a little bit more excitement or just want to meet up with friends before or after dinner

Lovely place at the south end of Port Douglas. Staff were attentive and we ordered the octopus for me and the duck liver pâté for entré and the 24hr slow cook brisket and lamb shoulder desert was a crime brûlée. All were nicely presented and very tasty indeed.

TBH, I saw the Post Douglas Magazine and just stayed close by , so deciding to come and try. I like scrambled egg, so the miso scrambled egg will be my first choice ~ For the dish,, the egg and the toast part was fabulous, I just can’t eat the kimchi… it’s way too sour to me… if you could chop pans mixing with egg, and put more Korean chilli powder with the kimchi… I think that would be much better ! But general the miso scrambled was good 👍 I ordered iced mocha, I couldn’t finish it … maybe recently when I ordered iced mocha … what I got were made with vanilla ice cream instead of put ice-cube … so it was under my expectation … however … I think I shouldn’t take that ice cream thing on granted either as the chocolate drizzled on the side of cup as well 😂😂😂😂 Kombucha was nice 😊 by the way ~ 😍😍😍

Nestled in the heart of Port Douglas, Sparrow Coffee is a charming little espresso bar that captures the essence of laid-back Australian culture. Hands down, the best coffee in Port Douglas! Stumbled upon Sparrow Coffee during our trip and ended up going back every day — it quickly became a favourite. I tried their iced latte, and wow… absolutely amazing. Smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced — exactly what you want on a warm FNQ day. Big shoutout to Ruby, who is absolutely amazing — super friendly, welcoming, and just a lovely person to chat with. She added such a positive vibe to every visit. The overall atmosphere is relaxed and cool, with great music and a perfect little spot to start your morning or take a mid-day break. Came here to get coffee after realising how putrid my hotel's beans were. The coffee here was pretty good but the service is underwhelming, the female barista was snappy with me when I was just trying to order a coffee :( I felt dismissed, like I was bothering her by being there

The Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort in Port Douglas offers a luxurious experience with its upscale amenities, including a restaurant and two bars, as well as nine lagoon-style pools and a golf course. The resort provides 24-hour reception, room service, conference facilities, and in-house restaurants. Guests can enjoy the white sands of Four Mile Beach just steps away from the resort or relax by the saltwater lagoons.
5-Star Paradise! We had a wonderful time staying at the Sheraton. The staff went above and beyond to look after us after some initial issues with our room — they offered multiple solutions and were polite, friendly, and professional throughout. It truly felt like a five-star experience. A big shout out to manager Alameda who was absolutely incredible! Our room was beautiful, spotless, and perfectly cool with great air-conditioning. The gardens were lush and luxurious, with so much space for everyone to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The pools were warm and inviting, and the food was absolutely incredible — easily the best buffet breakfast I’ve ever had! Every meal across the restaurants was top-tier, with a great variety of options. Everything about this resort is effortless — you can jump between three restaurant menus, enjoy poolside service under the umbrellas and cabanas, or order room service with ease. Every detail was taken care of, making our stay seamless and relaxing. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to come back!

The hotel grounds are beautifully maintained, but unfortunately, the same care hasn’t been extended to the rooms. My original room was dirty, and after requesting a move, the next room had mould and leftover food under the bed. I had to call room service to come and clean it properly. The quality of the accommodation simply didn’t match the price, and it feels like most of the investment has gone into the landscaping rather than into housekeeping or staff training. I’ve documented the issues with photos and, unfortunately, wouldn’t stay again at this price point.

Pretty amazing. My kids felt that they’d won the lottery! This was our two nights of luxury after 3 weeks road and camping trip driving up from the Sunshine Coast so expectations were high. The pools were stunning and we didn’t find them too cold staying mid July. We had a lagoon access two x double bed and a travel cot which perfectly fitted our family of five. I thought the room was stylish and comfortable though the bathroom was dated. Would have been nice to see four bath robes with them knowing the occupants of the room. Breakfast was an additional $98 for the 5 of us with my Marriott membership- that was well worth it, I thought breakfast was very good with average coffee and unexpected wait times for seating (it was school holidays). I would have liked to see more things complimentary - the schedule for the school holidays was amazing for family but there was an additional charge for a fair few things like the pizza making. Beach was stunning and I would have liked more time there. All in all I loved this hotel and we will be back hopefully without paying for school holidays inflated prices

Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas - Villa 156 Review Our family recently stayed at Villa 156 in Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas for a holiday with our toddlers. While the location and overall setting hold promise, there are several areas that could benefit from improvement. Firstly, the standout highlight of our stay was the exceptional service provided by Rod. His dedication and genuine willingness to assist with anything we needed made a significant difference to our experience. Nothing was too much trouble for him, and it’s rare to encounter such outstanding service. Rod's attentiveness undoubtedly elevated our stay, leading us to rate 4 stars instead of 3-3.5 solely because of his efforts. In terms of the villa, light sleepers should be aware that Villa 156 has very thin doors, making it easy to hear noises from Rooms next door. Additionally, the absence of blockout blinds in the rooms affected sleep quality, particularly for those sensitive to light. Unfortunately, this meant our stay wasn’t as relaxing as we had hoped, and I found myself sleeping better once we returned home. The cleanliness of the villa was another concern. The carpets appeared quite dirty, to the extent that our white socks became blackened from walking on them. This definitely calls for more attention from the cleaning department. We understand the challenges with staff turnover and training, but consistent cleaning standards are essential for guest comfort. Another drawback was the pool situation. None of the pools are heated, which made it unsuitable for us, especially with young children, as the water was too cold to enjoy. Despite these issues, whenever we raised concerns, the staff were responsive and quick to assist, which we appreciated. The resort holds great potential and seems to be one of the prime spots in Port Douglas. With some focused improvements, especially in villa maintenance and amenities, it could offer an even more enjoyable experience. A huge thank you again to Rod for his remarkable service—it truly made a positive impact on our holiday.

Very nice resort! Would highly recommend 1. It has lots of greenery and easy access to the beach. There is nice walkways to explore the resort. It even has a golf course 2. The rooms are clean and my room had direct access to the pool 3. The breakfast spread was awesome. The resort is conveniently located and only 10 mins to the Port Douglas town centre

I know a few people have written that this didn’t live up to their standards but my partner and I had the nicest time here. We stayed 6 nights and found it so relaxing! The staff were super lovely and attentive! The buffet breakfast was just an added bonus as it was incredible! I felt so at peace here and the resort really has that tropical feel!

The service is so poor in this hotel. The waiting times for food in the dinner restaurants is with 45-60 minutes not acceptable. Even to get seated we had to wait 10 minutes. Also the cleaning could be improved. Most of the pools are dirty. The battery of the safe was low so we couldn't use it immediately and we got towels only after asking cause they had an issue with their washing machines. However, we checked in very late that day. For such a class of hotel this is a shame!!
Michaela G — Google review
Lovely resort, grounds and service. Room appeared dated and one of the bed mattresses was very saggy! We were on G floor inside and there was constant noise from very young kids yelling and crying from different families spread across multiple rooms in the corridor and door noise. It honestly felt like staying in a caravan park and it wasn't even school holidays. There actually wasn't anywhere in the whole resort there wasn't this noise. Our stay was also a week long! I just wouldn't recommend it as a relaxing or peaceful place if you're just a couple or with friends. Or at least opt for a room and that it outside so at least you don't have a line of rooms opposite you to minimise noise.

The Pullman Port Douglas Sea Temple Resort and Spa is a luxurious five-star resort offering modern accommodations and a trendy restaurant. The highlight of the resort is its 3000m2 lagoon-style pool, perfect for families with options like babysitting services available upon request. The 194-room resort includes various room types such as plunge pool apartments, swim-out villas, and penthouses with rooftop spas and barbeques.
We stayed for 2 nights with kids. Check in included a glass of sparkling wine or a mocktail. Accommodations were neat, clean, and well maintained. The pool was great, breakfast was very good. Breakfast started at 7AM, which made early adventures out a little challenging. We scheduled activities that allowed us to be conveniently picked up at the hotel too, which was nice. Parking looked challenging at first, but we got a convenient spot every time. We had a hot tub, but it was too hot outside to want to use, instead we cooled off in the pool.

Had a fantastic long weekend in Port Douglas with a great group of 13. The hotel is only a short trip on the shuttle into Port Douglas. If you are an uber fan don't think you will get the same city service up here. Really are better using the hotel shuttle buses. The Sea Temple is a great resort for all. Let's start with the positive: - We had a 2 bedroom penthouse overlooking the pool. It is very spacious and has an upstairs roof top bbq area with a spa. Brilliant for entertaining or large family bbq. - The reception staff were amazing. Always helpful, happy and smiling. Thank you team you were all awesome. - The bar / restaurant / morning coffee team were again fabulous. Nothing was a problem. Always happy to help and good for banter. - The pool is large and happy to accommodate floating toys and kids had a ball. - Overall a great experience. The ONLY thing that let the place down is the onsite food. The hotel is really geared up for self catering. Which the rooms are set up really well to accommodate for. If food is your jam go out of the hotel. Some great places to eat in Port Douglas itself. Overall though brilliant.

My Husband and I loved our time at The Pullman. We were celebrating an anniversary and was our first child free holiday in a long time. The resort is very nice, quiet and tidy and only a 5 minute drive to the main area of town. We received some bubbles in our room to celebrate our anniversary and also had our room upgraded to a penthouse with a spa and rooftop area with our own private area to relax. The pool area was really nice with us spending most of our time here and at the pool bar. It did take quite a while for the food to come from the pool bar and it was cold when it got to us and the cocktails are quite expensive when it’s not happy hour but they were delicious. The pool area was very kid friendly as well as the private rooftop area of our room. We will definitely be back with our kids!

We had a really enjoyable stay at Pullman Palm Cove. The pools are fantastic for kids and the gardens are absolutely beautiful — such a great setting. We were lucky to get a renovated apartment, which was modern and comfortable. A couple of small things: some of the staff could have been a bit friendlier, and if you’re going to the buffet breakfast, make sure you don’t arrive last — we missed out one morning, but when you get there early it’s excellent. Overall, a great spot for a family holiday and we’d happily come back.

The venue was stunning and the quality of service was wonderful. Sophia was attentive and accommodating of all our requests. She made my wedding reception dreams come true 🤩 The food was out of this world good and Daniela provided a memorable experience throughout the day with her flexibility and understanding. They were great when communicating things to us during the reception for example; keeping us updated with where we were at with the bar tab and ensuring decisions were made through us. Rosie took a lot of stress off of us when sorting guest accommodation throughout wedding planning and was very considerate of guest requests within the rooms. We recently went back in there for a dinner of which we received amazing service once again from the team and feel we have built a wonderful relationship with Sophia, Daniela and the restaurant manager (I forgot her name sorry!)

After getting engaged at the beautiful Pullman Port Douglas we knew we had to get married there. The venue is absolutely stunning. After seeing the venue, we decided to book the Boardwalk for our wedding and reception. After a long year and a half of remote planning and endless emails back and forth with Sophia we knew our day would be magical. Sophia took the time to send through suggestions and ideas. Our day arrived so quickly and the vision, creativity and attention to detail was brought to life. It was everything we imagined and so much more. The set up and design along the boardwalk was elegant, whimsical and so dreamy. Everything you could ever imagine. Our guests were blow away at how stunning everything was. They also raved about how beautiful the rooms and resort is. A special thank you to Sophia (wedding co-ordinator). You really brought our vision to life. We are so thankful for our magical day. A special shout out to the amazing Chef who made the most amazing 5 course meals.

This is such a delightful hotel with exceptional service. The cocktails were amazing advise for where to go and all staff extremely helpful. The beach is next to the hotel you can walk down there into town. About 1 hours walk. There is a shuttle service as well. The breakfast had everything and fantastic coffee. The food was delicious. Would highly recommend it!

This hotel is a three star at best. The room is a bit dated with some mould on the shower tiles. The pool is very awkward to get to from some of the accommodation, there are only 8 umbrellas with loungers under them. All the rest of the loungers are in sun all day. The pool is large and possibly the only positive about this property. The restaurant service is diabolical long waits between courses, we ordered dessert and after 20 mins asked for an update and were told the order never went in and the chefs had gone home. When we got the bill we were still charged for those non existent desserts! We ordered room service, only part of the order arrived. We had to call down again to get the rest of the order, when it arrived it was cold and our drinks were still missing. The hotel is quite a bit outside of the main bar and restaurant area, the hotel does not provide a shuttle service you need to use a local shuttle bus which is $15 return. When checking out we mentioned we had some issues and the receptionist did not enquire what the issues were and just laughed in response. I would not recommend staying here if you are expecting 5 star luxury and service, you will pay 5 star prices though This review was submitted to the hotel prior to posting this review on Google and they never responded.

Nestled in the stunning landscapes of Australia, Palmer Sea Reef Golf Course and Restaurant offers a delightful blend of golfing and dining experiences. As you tee off on this renowned course, be prepared to encounter the occasional crocodile making its way across the fairways! The course is celebrated for its challenging layout and well-maintained greens, providing an enjoyable experience for both seasoned golfers and newcomers alike.
I’m not sure why there has been so many complaints? Sure maybe wet season the course struggles a bit, all courses up here would! But my experience was very good! Got to the pro shop where I had already booked the tee time, my cart, clubs and even the esky was awaiting! Yes the esky was full of ice and ready to go! The course presents itself beautifully!! The greens are on very good condition, as is the fairways. There was probably only a couple of greens where there was a blemish or 2? Didn’t affect play at all! Plenty of green keepers working hard spraying, mowing, fixing the course as we went through the 18 holes (again didn’t affect play!) I would recommend this course to anyone and certainly be back! Thanks for a great course!

Nice view of mountains near Port Douglas from a fairly flat Queensland resort course. Nice layout but conditions were a little furry including mixed grass types on some of the greens. I get that it's at a holiday destination so prices are higher, but green fees were more than is reasonable for the conditions. Access next to a gated community.

My wife and I played this course on a recent long weekend in Port Douglas (July 24) and had a ball. On the trip we played the Mirage and the Sea Reef. They’re both fun courses with welcoming staff and a relaxed vibe. If I had to pick a favorite it would be this one though. Simply because it offered a lot more challenge. The course was presented in good order. A few bunkers were staked and out of play but the vast majority were in play. The grass cover on the fairways, the greens and around the greens was terrific. Club house staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Although most of the locals were way older than us, they all took time to have a chat and made us feel welcome at their club. Would definitely go back and play again if I was holidaying up here. The only thing to bear in mind is that this is a championship course. It’s not easy. If you’re a complete hacker, just starting out or want somewhere to take the kids for a muck around and a hit, I wouldn’t come here. Try the Mirage just up the road instead. As for price it’s more expensive than Mirage, but you get what you pay for and I felt it was decent value compared to other similar courses I’ve played here in Oz. Final note, try the burger at club house. It was worth the calories!

Played Palmer sea reef golf course today. Paid $600 for 3 of us including rental clubs. The greens are unplayable. At least 14 of the 18 greens were diseased. Basically unplayable. Before we started we were told 3 greens were a problem. Not 14! Feel ripped off. Won’t be back. And hire clubs were crap
Peter H — Google review
Very challenging course to play, probably harder than it needs to be. Greens are ridiculous. It was a shame really as the course is well maintained and the grass is lovely to play on. but unfortunately we will not go back and play it again.
Nick C — Google review
Played here early august 2025 and the course is looking in top shape. Greens are the best I've seen them with great cover and nice even roll. The guys here know what they are doing. Fairways and bunkers are well presented also. If your thinking of playing here but the other reviews are putting you off you won't be disappointed.
Aaron S — Google review
My wife and I have been playing here for a few years now. We are only here for four months of the year. Really disappointed this year. Their internet has been out now since the 23rd June so can’t book on line. The staff have to use an adding machine at the bar. I can’t understand why it can’t be sorted quicker. We have been given the old gold carts a few times now. Twice run out of battery on our round. They continuously run out of cardboard score cards. The staff are always great. The clubhouse deck for us is a winner. Lovely views. I can understand the rundown feel of the place if it’s not making money?
Michael P — Google review
I started with two swings on the first hole tee box and noticed it is sloped with the grass chunked from old divots. Proceed and you will find noticeable ground under repair in various places, culminating in a green that had more dips then a couple of bunkers. When asking for a refund, I was treated with contempt. Not even a partial refund was available. “The course is not responsible if you find it to be too difficult.” The whole routine seemed rehearsed and had nothing to do with my polite complaint. I’m just not feeling it to play this round, for the price that they was charged. In hindsight, I was clearly being taken advantage of from the get go. Even while staying at the resort and not getting published discount, Starting at 3:50 for the Twilight, $115 was a worse deal then $180 for a normal round would have been. Then they expect you to be In the clubhouse before 5:45. So their prices and location set you up, To get on the first tee box, and think I’m not doing this to then be told “I picked the wrong day to argue with him.” Whatever, I’ve Enjoyed every other part of this beautiful country.

Nestled along the bustling Macrossan Street, Whileaway Bookshop and Cafe is a delightful haven for both bibliophiles and coffee enthusiasts. This charming spot combines the best of both worlds, offering a cozy atmosphere where you can enjoy light breakfasts alongside an enticing array of freshly baked cakes and tarts, including gluten-free options.
What a delightful and wonderful concept… Usually these destinations where they combine aspects of business, one aspect is usually great, the other can be hit-or-miss… In this case both come together so well… A great selection of seating options (back of store, in the store, on the street). Coffee was great - served to your table - and books were displayed beautifully with a broad range of topics… WELL worth the visit

Whileaway Bookshop and Cafe is a unique spot on Macrossan Street. It's nice to order coffee and browse through different books while waiting. Although, sometimes it can feel a bit crowded, with many people dining in and wandering around, especially during peak times. Having tried both a cappuccino and an iced latte on different occasions, I can say the iced latte was great in taste, size, and price. The cappuccino was pleasant but not a standout in flavour; having gotten their largest size, it was a bit milky, which can sometimes be the case with the largest size. Additionally, my partner and mum love their chai lattes from there and speak highly of it for any chai lovers. Overall, it's still one of the better takeaway cafe spots in Port Douglas.

A beautiful cafe and bookshop. Quick service, yummy treats, and affordable books - what a dream!
Ashleigh — Google review
Really enjoyed the coffee and the flat white and the Banana bread. Has only improved since we were here last time. But no bacon and eggs, so I'll have a breakfast early lunch else where. Will return for another coffee though.😊

Whenever we come to Port Douglas we always stop at Whileaway Bookshop Cafe. It is a really good place to get a coffee and something to nibble and browse through the great range of books that they have. Their muffins are particularly good and highly recommended. You can sit outside the cafe and read a book if you would like to relax that way.

A very pleasant surprise to find this place while walking around in town. Very good coffee and a very impressive assortment of books. Plenty of tables to enjoy a drink while searching for what to read next.

Nice place to enjoy a great coffee and a pastry on a Sunday morning. In the middle of Port Douglas, on Macrossan Street. Lots of seating outdoors, under cover and away from the hot noon sun. Also seating indoors for the less adventurous 😁 Coffee was good, and the almond croissant was great !

Great coffee and cakes in a bookshop. Staff really friendly and service was quick and efficient. Good choice of cakes and savouries. Large fridge full of very cold soft drinks.

Nestled in the Port Village Shopping Centre, Toast Sandwich Bar is a delightful gem that elevates the humble sandwich experience. This cozy spot offers an array of mouthwatering options, from their renowned Reuben sandwich—featuring slow-cooked corned beef and Swiss cheese—to indulgent French toast topped with bacon and maple syrup. Whether you're craving a fresh wrap or a gourmet signature sandwich, like the smashed avocado delightfully paired with Persian feta and cherry tomatoes, Toast has you covered.
Fantastic experience here. Coffee was great, sandwiches delicious and fresh juice tasted good. Staff were friendly and attentive and place had a nice vibe. Would definitely come back here.

We loved my pulled pork toasty, it had a delicious balance of flavours. The meat in the Ruben however was cut a little too thick and there was a bit too much sauce. Still worth a visit for breakfast or lunch though because there’s so much on the menu that sounds delicious, like crumbed poached eggs 😍
Bianca M — Google review
We came here for pancakes—fluffy, cloud-like pancakes. Honestly, it felt like eating a cloud… a strawberry, whipped cream, maple syrup–drenched cloud! Definitely a dish best shared, but wow, it was so good. The cappuccinos (both dairy and non-dairy) were excellent too. Chapeau to this place.

Nice sandwich bar. Food is tasty but unfortunately I found it underwhelming for the price we paid. We paid $92 for 4 sandwiches and 2 drinks.

Great breakfast of poached egg with sourdough toast and a side of avocado. Fresh orange juice. Served by friendly smiling Irish girls. Do not tell anyone or it will get too busy.
Omar B — Google review
I saw the amazing photo from a year ago or the Reuben sandwich with the nice thick pieces of pastrami. But what I got was nice (for a lower price), but the pastrami was thin and the sandwich sad in comparison to the photo. I would have happily paid the listed price for sandwich in the photo, but for what I got not worth it. The other stuff we ordered was also a little steep for what we paid. My thickshake was an actual thickshake in a world that seems a thickshake is what a milkshake used to be and a milkshake is now flavoured milk. However it wasn't mixed enough so whilst some was amazing other sips where just pockets of milk.

Lagoon House Restaurant is a tropical dining spot in North Queensland, offering Asian-inspired dishes designed for sharing. The open kitchen allows guests to witness the chefs creating delicious meals. From unique breakfast options to fragrant evening flavors carried by the ocean breeze, this restaurant provides a diverse culinary experience. Despite being located at a resort poolside, Lagoon House surprises diners with innovative and high-quality dishes such as their twist on Peking Duck made with crispy pork hock.
We stayed five nights at the Sheraton and ate at Lagoon House every day—both breakfast and dinner. The Southeast Asian menu was full of delicious options, with great vegetarian and seafood choices. Portions were generous, and the flavours were amazing. They were happy to customise dishes, like swapping meat for prawns in the nasi goreng. The outdoor seating, some with beach views, was a lovely touch. Service was outstanding—special thanks to Nicole for her fantastic service and coffee! Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable.

What an absolute gem of a restaurant! We had a fantastic meal here! I really recommend sitting at the counters this way you can watch the chefs. The tuna sushi bowl was full of amazing flavours and the pork roll ups were so creative and delicious. Staff were friendly and attentive and we had a wonderful evening.
Hannah J — Google review
The Lagoon House made my husband and I feel truly valued during our wedding anniversary celebration this evening, making our holiday at the Sheraton Grand Mirage even more memorable. The exceptional quality of the food and service provided by the establishment went above and beyond our expectations, creating an unforgettable experience. We express our sincere gratitude for their efforts.
Maxine T — Google review
The food here was absolutely amazing, and the outdoor seating provided a really nice ambiance. Initially, the service was great; everything was explained clearly, and our food arrived quickly. The salted egg calamari and yakitori were both delicious, but the undeniable star of the night was the pork hock. It was perfectly crispy on the outside and incredibly tender on the inside. It came with some lovely side dishes, and if it had been paired with something to wrap it in, it truly would have been a 1000/10 dish! We chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday, and the evening started wonderfully. However, after our main course, we waited a good 10-15 minutes for someone to give us the dessert menu. We didn't mind too much at that point as we were still enjoying our wine. But after receiving the menu, no one ever came back to take our order. I was so keen to try the pandan creme brulee and mango sago and was really excited about them. We waited for almost 30 minutes, but all the waiters seemed busy and wouldn't even glance our way. The table beside us, who were celebrating their anniversary, experienced the exact same issue. Eventually, it got so late that we just went to the counter to pay. I had such high expectations for this place, especially given all the good reviews, but the significant letdown in service truly overshadowed the fantastic food.
Aly E — Google review
Absolutely fantastic food and service. My partner went for dinner around 8pm so it was quiet and really enjoyable. Love the idea of sitting at the bench overlooking into the kitchen. We enjoyed sitting there watching the chef's and had a lovely chat with many of them who told us all about the restaurant and themselves. Food was absolutely delicious and we couldn't stop eating it. Can't wait to come back.
Clyde R — Google review
Tale of two nights. My friend and I went on Monday night. The executive chef, Justin, was on duty and you can tell he was focused on standards. The entire dining experience from service to food was a strong 5 star experience. The steak was cooked perfectly and KFC to die for. Everything was so flavorful and handled with care. But it's not consistent. After having such an incredible experience, we suggested revisiting on Wednesday and brought 4 additional people. We felt bad at how rough the service was. The scallops were raw, the duck too dry. The old fashions were made with no character and might as well have just been watered down bourbon with an ice cube. I was let down by the experience. Edit: I came back stateside and the restaurant, for some reason, reversed the charge on my credit card. They tracked down my dining guest through his payment and reached off to me. I had to go through a process of repaying, which I don't mind. But my issue is how they presented it. They told me my payment was declined despite being accepted when I paid, and signed. I reached out to Amex and they said that was not the case, and Amex had accepted the charge.
David A — Google review
During our stay at the resort, we had dinner here twice and both experiences were absolutely fantastic. The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding – all the staff were incredibly attentive. One of the highlights of our trip was dining at the bar one evening, where we got to watch the team in action and even chat with Chef Yang. He was so friendly and gave us recommendations on how to enjoy our dishes before we ate them, which made the experience even more special. We truly enjoyed every moment and would 100% recommend coming here if you’re staying at the resort!

Delicious food and very good coffee and fresh fruit juice! We went for lunch for the first time and had avo toast and chicken burgers, 2 coffee and juice and we really liked it. So we went back again for breakfast after that and tried the eggs benedict and granola bowl which was fantastic! The staff was friendly! The cafe is right in the center of town so pretty close to most accommodations in Port Douglas.

Came here twice on our Port Douglas trip. Could not fault it. Great coffee both visits. Great service. Comfortable seating area and a bit more private than most other places which have you seated on the footpath. The food was fantastic both times. My husband had the Spanish eggs which was probably the pick of the bunch, we definitely recommend it. Thank you Little Red Kitchen!

Stopped in at the Red Kitchen for a breakfast and absolutely loved it. I pretty much always order scrambled eggs with whatever I happen to fancy at the time and these were cooked to perfection, well seasoned. A great consistency and delicious, I also have to say how happy I was to receive 4 whole tomatoes, which is in my opinion fantastic. My wife ordered Spanish eggs and also loved her food. Finally the juice was super fresh, clearly squeezed that day and the coffee was amazing.

This morning my partner and myself went to monkey Joe's for breakfast before heading back down to Cairns a d honestly I can't recommend this cafe enough. The staff are so friendly and very welcoming as well as super helpful! The food was absolutely delicious and came out to the table in a really timely fashion which was so good considering we were both starving haha Everything we ordered from the juice, coffee to the food was absolutely delicious! If your ever passing through port or even up there for the weekend I highly recommend stopping into this cafe it is very worth it

Very friendly staff in a convenient location. They did not have a bacon and egg roll on the menu but upon asking they made it for me. We also had a BLAT and Bloody Mary. Food was fresh. Price: $47 for bacon and egg roll + hash brown and a can of coke and BLAT + bloody marry. Not a bad choice in town - although some of the cafes seem more popular.

Melbourne's coffee in Port Douglas! We had cappuccino in several places during our 2 weeks stay in PD, but here was the best! The friendly service and great music just added to the atmosphere. We also had very tasty Cuban Sandwiches. There is a little kids Cafe on the side.

It’s a no frills cafe which does a great breakfast and serves the best home-cured bacon I’ve ever tasted. Not a fancy posh joint... Find a table, order at the counter and take a number. The service was good and the staff were friendly. Recommended.

ZanDers Beach Cafe is a cozy spot that offers a variety of delicious food and drinks. The cheeseburger is a standout, featuring a perfectly sized beef patty with melted cheese, gherkins, and ketchup. The friendly service adds to the welcoming atmosphere, making visitors feel right at home. Whether it's breakfast by the beach or a light lunch after swimming, this cafe has something for everyone. Additionally, they are pet-friendly and even offer treats for furry friends.
We had breakfast on Boxing Day, it was busy and the staff did a great job with the coffee and drinks arriving quickly. Food was great and fresh. Coffee was awesome too. And the view opposite the beach was so lovely. Highly recommend!

Zanders Beach Cafe is a great choice for a relaxed lunch with beautiful beachside views and a casual, welcoming vibe. The location is ideal for unwinding, and the overall atmosphere is laid-back and enjoyable. From the lunch menu, we tried the Salad Snack Bowl with Grilled Chicken, the Grilled Chicken Burger, the Egg and Bacon Bun, and a side of potato wedges. All dishes were well presented, with fresh ingredients and nice attention to detail. The salad bowl was light and tasty, the chicken burger was juicy and flavorful, and the egg and bacon bun was a satisfying, classic pick. The potato wedges, while served hot and crispy, had room for improvement—perhaps in seasoning or texture to make them more memorable. To drink, we had an iced coffee with cream and ice, a long black, and a pineapple juice. All were refreshing and served just right. Service was friendly and efficient, adding to the positive experience. Overall, Zanders is a solid spot for a casual lunch with a great view—just a few tweaks to some items like the wedges, and it would be even better.

Had the Spinach egg and halloumi (SHE) beach bun and it was the perfect brekkie with a side of some hash browns 👌
Denise N — Google review
Great location, directly across from patrolled beach area. Ate here a couple weeks ago (early June), I ordered the nachos, which were pretty good. Friends ordered SHE beach bun (spinach, haloumi, egg) & Egg & bacon beach bun. I know people like runny eggs, but the eggs on both the buns were super runny (in our opinion). So lesson learnt, ask for fully cooked eggs, (not just here, everywhere, if that is ones preference). A cappuccino & iced latte were also ordered and enjoyed. Would we come here again? Yes, we already have.

Nice little cafe right opposite the beach. The seating optimizes the view and its nice hearing the waves as you eat. The menu was a bit limited bit the food was well prepared. Service was a bit low at the start as no one gave me a menu or got my coffee order when seated and it was difficult to get their attention. But they were friendly and service was quick after that. Apart from the strange smell coming from somewhere it was pleasant enough.
Andrew F — Google review
Very nice little Cafe near the beach. Staff auper friendly. Basic menu with enough options. Eggs were very nice. Fritters were good but il would order something different next time. Would recommend
Lena ( — Google review
Walked in Saturday morning for breakfast. The venue is nice. You can see the beach. Had some nice juices and ordered the big breakfast to share. That came out pretty quickly. The negative part of my experience was when I asked for some tomato sauce. I was told that it costs $2. From experience that close to the price for a bottle of Woolies sauce. Didn't pay up. Started to wonder how much salt and pepper cost. Had butter on the plate. Didn't want that. Never experienced this before, except for the pie shop 20c sauce..... which seems fair.
Bernie D — Google review
In peak season I think they get very busy (the menu reads like they've had to deal with very impatient guests before). But we're here in the off season and the food was fantastic and very quick. Coffee is great and the view to the beach... Well... If only the cafe could control the weather! Haha! Beach Big brekkie is big but not over the top.
