The Golden Roof is a renowned Gothic oriel in Innsbruck, adorned with 2657 fire-gilt copper tiles that give it its name. Originally built for Emperor Maximilian and his wife to observe events below, it now houses a museum chronicling Innsbruck's history. The exterior is particularly impressive, featuring murals and intricate designs, while the museum offers an insightful look into the city's past.
The Goldenes Dachl or Golden Roof is a landmark structure located in the Old Town part of Innsbruck, Austria. It is a famous plaza of the city. This was completed in 1500 century. It was decorated with 2,000 plus copper tiles for the Emperor at that time. The Emperor and his wife used the balcony to observe festivals, tournaments, dancing, and other events that took place in the plaza below. Up to this day, the plaza is being used for basking, dancing, and events. It's us a nice walk around the plaza with the varieties of shops.

The golden roof of Innsbruck is a fun little thing to see and is in a beautiful part of the old town. There’s lots of good shopping and restaurants around here that make for a fun outing or a good walk from your hotel. It’s worth seeing this too since it’s an iconic part of Innsbruck.
Benjamin M — Google review
The Golden Roof in Innsbruck is a captivating sight! Its shimmering gold tiles make it a stunning backdrop for photos, especially under sunlight. A perfect spot for a leisurely stroll and soaking in the historic charm of the old town. A must-visit for unforgettable memories.
Tongz N — Google review
A beautiful city with stunning mountain views. The cityscape is always set against a backdrop of mountains, which makes it truly picturesque. Everything is very charming, with plenty of restaurants and shops all around.
Yigal R — Google review
The Golden Roof is Innsbruck’s most famous landmark, a late Gothic balcony built in 1500 for Emperor Maximilian I and decorated with 2,657 gilded copper tiles. It’s an impressive piece of history and a symbol of the city, though the small size can feel a bit underwhelming compared to its fame. Worth a look while wandering the Old Town, especially for the historical significance, but don’t expect a grand spectacle.
E P — Google review
Golden roof tells the story of History. Innsbruck is full of colours and lot of stories. The way they protected golden roof till yet and old and beautiful streets are Amazing.
Manasi D — Google review
A must-see in Innsbruck! The Golden Roof is the city’s iconic landmark. Its 2,657 fire-gilded copper tiles still shine brilliantly after centuries! Built by Emperor Maximilian I to celebrate his wedding, it’s not just stunning outside — the museum inside offers a fascinating glimpse into imperial history. The mix of Gothic and early Renaissance architecture is beautiful, and the detailed reliefs bring the past to life. A perfect stop to experience the spirit of old Austria.

Perched on a hill in Innsbruck, the Bergisel Ski Jump is an architectural wonder designed by Zaha Hadid. It offers a unique vantage point to witness ski jumps and provides a panoramic view of the city. The venue also features a viewing platform and cafe for visitors to enjoy. In addition to being a popular tourist attraction, the ski jump is used for training and competitive purposes, allowing visitors to watch ski jumping at certain times.
We spent a couple of hours here, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was awesome to see the skiers jump. If we were to come back, I think it would be great to have a reservation at the restaurant. The views were stunning.
Dave H — Google review
Came to visit the cool facility during a business sports trip. The view is fabulous and gives you the opportunity to witness a top-notch Olympic sports facility. I didn’t eat or visit the restaurant, and you shouldn’t expect much attraction there, aside from the view and explanatory signs. For the athletes in the crowd, you can make it an impressive 3km run with an 80m elevation trail from the historic town to the entrance, then an additional 250 stairs up! all the way up to the terrace. €10 for a single ticket, with a discount available for students. Please bring a card or a multiple attraction card for the city, or use your local hotel discount code. For more endurance sports suggestions, check out @triathlontrips on Instagram and Facebook.
Triathlontrips U — Google review
Such a cool experience to see the ski jump and the place of the winter Olympics. It is a very reasonably priced ticket for an amazing experience to go up to the top, see incredible views of the city/mountains and if you're lucky you'll get to see the teams practice their ski jumps which is an incredible experience to witness. They also have a gift shop and a restaurant.
Constantine J — Google review
This is an artificial ski slope designed by famous architect. Offers Fabulous views of the Innsbruck city below and the Nordkette mountains beyond. Turning around on the viewing platform, we could see the other side as well. On a clear day, it says one can see a span of over 150 kms. There is a restaurant on the top. Additionally, we got to see a few jumps as well and it was fascinating.
Deepak T — Google review
Went there on a whim on a Tuesday. It’s a bit confusing to find the actual ski jump from the parking spot which was 3,80€ for 90min. After we looked around for a bit, we took the gondola up to the tower and were fortunate enough to see someone practicing the jump. That was really interesting to watch and quite a unique opportunity.
Max S — Google review
Amazing views, architecture, and Tyrolean history We visited Bergisel Ski Jump in May, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip to Innsbruck. The ski jump itself, designed by Zaha Hadid, is a stunning piece of architecture. We took the funicular and elevator up to the top, and the panoramic views over Innsbruck and the surrounding Alps were absolutely breathtaking—even without snow on the ground! It was really cool to stand where the athletes take off—gives you a whole new respect for ski jumping. There’s also a cozy café at the top where we enjoyed coffee with a view. The visit also includes entry to the Tyrol Panorama Museum (not the Olympic Museum), which features a fascinating look at Tyrolean history, culture, and an impressive 360° panoramic painting. Tips for your visit: 🎟️ Combo tickets include the funicular, elevator to the tower, and entrance to the Tyrol Panorama Museum. 🗓️ Visiting in May was perfect—no crowds, pleasant weather, and everything open. 📸 Visit on a clear day for the best views—sunset is especially beautiful. ☕ Don’t miss the café at the top—it’s small but offers incredible scenery. 👟 Some light walking and stairs involved, so wear comfortable shoes. A must-visit spot in Innsbruck, even outside of ski season. Beautifully designed, educational, and unforgettable.
Artem P — Google review
The most unique place to visit in Innsbruck! You got some of the best views over the city while also having the opportunity to go to the top of a ski jump. Both the perspective from the bottom of the jump and the top are really cool. Don't forget that 1 floor below the top Observatory, you can have a top to bottom view of the launch station of the ski jump, which is really cool but can easily be overlooked. I really loved visiting this place, the cable cart from bottom to the top and the little museum are also nice little extras (all included in 1 ticket). There is also a small forest around the ski jump accessible from the carpark which has a nice hike and gives you some nice views of the ski jump tower and the surrounding area. I highly recommend visiting this place.

Maria-Theresien-Straße is a captivating thoroughfare in Innsbruck that beautifully marries history with modern vibrancy. This iconic street, which stretches from the Triumphal Arch to the Old Town, serves as a bustling hub filled with an array of shops, outdoor cafes, and bars. As you wander along this pedestrian-friendly promenade, you'll be surrounded by stunning baroque architecture and significant landmarks like St. Anne's Column and the Chapel of St. George.
Nice street to walk down and chill on. Occasional street performance/music. Nice views

Elegant and Lively – Strolling Down Maria-Theresien-Straße Maria-Theresien-Straße is the beating heart of Innsbruck—a stunning promenade that blends baroque elegance with the buzz of modern city life. Flanked by ornate historic buildings and snow-capped Alpine views, this boulevard made a lasting impression on me. The street is lined with a great mix of cafés, shops, and local boutiques, making it perfect for both leisurely strolling and spontaneous shopping. The atmosphere was vibrant yet relaxed, with locals mingling with tourists, buskers adding music to the air, and cozy terraces inviting you to sit back and take it all in. One of the highlights was the St. Anne’s Column (Annasäule), standing proudly against the backdrop of Nordkette mountain peaks—it’s a perfect photo spot and a lovely place to pause and admire your surroundings. The blend of modern stores and centuries-old architecture gives Maria-Theresien-Straße a unique charm that’s both timeless and trendy. Whether you’re there to shop, sip coffee, or simply enjoy the scenery, this street is a must-visit. It’s more than a thoroughfare—it’s an experience that captures the spirit of Innsbruck beautifully.

impressive street with historical buildings and new construction shops. Tram and buses pass through it and it starts with the victory gate and end with the View of Baroque towers and the Mountains.

Maria-Theresien-Straße is 500 meters long and part of it, 200 meters at one end, is a pedestrian zone path with cafes and shops on both sides. This is the heart of Innsbruck that attracts both locals and tourists alike. This street is especially scenic with the Nordkette mountain range as its backdrop.

Observation Decks & Towers
The Stadtturm is a historic watchtower located in the Old Town district of Innsbruck, Austria. Built in the 1400s, this medieval tower features an observation deck and a distinctive copper-clad onion dome. Standing at almost 60 meters tall, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the cityscape and surrounding attractions, including the Nordkette mountains. Visitors can climb 133 steps to reach the top and marvel at the picturesque vistas.
Got the Innsbruck Card, which made going to all the attractions easy. The staircase is a double helix, pretty cool. Easy to get to the top to enjoy the panorama view of the city.
Nusara K — Google review
We were walking around Innsbruck and saw the fire tower and decided to walk up the 51 meters to get a view of the city. Walked up and you have to pay 4:50 for a ticket then walk up a flight of stairs and then insert your ticket into the turnstile. You then climb around 160 stairs to the top. The view is pretty go and it gives you a good Birds Eye view of the city 360 degrees. It was ok I’d do it again.
M H — Google review
The view is definitely amazing for the entrance fee, which was 10 euro as compared to any other adventure cost in the city. However, I caution you, one has to climb almost 10 floors of spiraling staircase with dim lights which can be scary for many and exhausting. I wasn't aware of this and it was a bit scary for me especially returning back. No lifts or shortcuts here which is scary if you get hurt or in case of emergency.
Archana A — Google review
The ticket shop is located on the 2nd floor. Family ticket is available too. We climbed the steel spiral stairway to the top, while resting in-between. The view of innsbruck is fabulous and you can view Golden Roof building from here. There is also pay to use binoculars. The outdoor viewing platform's space is tight, so it is tricky if there are more people. You can use the same entrance ticket to enter the toilet located at ground level.
Murphy C — Google review
The view from Stadtturm in Innsbruck is absolutely incredible — you can see the whole city and the beautiful surrounding mountains. The climb to the top requires some effort, as there are many stairs to climb, but it’s definitely worth it. Also, the ticket price is cheaper for students, which makes the visit even better. If you enjoy panoramic views and don’t mind a bit of a workout, Stadtturm is a must-see!
Denkop — Google review
A great spot to get a view over the old town of Innsbruck! The ticket shop is on the 2nd floor, then there is a spiral staircase that takes you up to the 360 degree balcony viewing deck. We used our Innsbruck card to get in, and spent about 15 minutes admiring the view. There’s area around the entrance is currently under construction but there are signs making it clear where to enter.
Madeline K — Google review
Perfect views of The Golden Roof and the city. Well worth the effort to charge up the winding staircase.
James H — Google review
A must to visit in Innsbruck. You got to climb a spiral staircase about 9 floors up and down. At the viewing deck it's a spectacular view of the surrounding and the mountains. Best to go on a clear day.

Schloss Ambras Innsbruck is a late Renaissance castle turned national museum that was once the headquarters for the Austrian Archduke Ferdinand II. The Spanish Hall, famous for hosting classical music concerts, is a highlight of this Renaissance castle. Visitors can explore a vast collection of weapons and armor as well as art treasures including paintings and sculptures. Surrounding the castle is a sprawling English garden offering impressive views.
This is a great place to visit! While I wish more impf it was still in it's original state, if you love history, museums, and information then this is for you. Easy to spend hours reading about everything on display, and exploring the grounds. I only wish the special exhibition had been open when I went.
Merecia L — Google review
Accesible price for so many things to see and learn. It is absolutelly beautiful to learn the history not only of Österreich but also of Europe. The only recommendation is to put a stronger lights in some halls as the letters are very small and the light is bad for reading. Btw. I loved the 80c coffee in the ticket office. The lady there is very kind and helpfull.
Nady N — Google review
The palace is more like a portrait gallery. The place is very peaceful. If you read everything, it takes like 3 to 4 hours to see everything. The parking only takes coins. It is cheaper the ticket if you buy it online.
Mike P — Google review
Great museum, pretty place. Parking is a little overpriced and inconvenient, since you have to pay for parking before your visit when you can't estimate the time you would want to spend there. We had to go back multiple times to prolong parking, since parking app doesn't work well with international phone numbers.
Olga K — Google review
I haven't seen the castle itself, but its beautiful garden is a great place to spend an afternoon with friends. There's a lot to explore and enjoy. It is free to visit the garden.
Elham A — Google review
Overall, it was an average experience. The castle has a museum full of murals and wall paintings of the royal family. It gets boring after a while to keep looking at them. The garden around the castle is very green and picturesque!
Krishan C — Google review
Pretty good place to spend few hours. Access is available to 2 buildings. Nice big park around the castle. Free entry with the Innsbruck Card.
Kyrylo S — Google review
An absolute jewel and highlight of the Innsbruck visit. This famous Habsburg castle is a unique renaissance exemplar, housing a stunning personal collection of “curiosities” and some of the most famous Habsburg portraits. While a bit out of town, castle can be easily accessed by public bus, available every 7 minutes. Don’t miss it! 1,5hours is enough for the visit. But add some time to just relax in the park or have a snack and coffee in the courtyard cafe.

Triumphpforte, also known as the Triumphal Arch, is a Roman-style arch located at the southern end of Maria Theresien Strasse in Innsbruck, Austria. Built in 1765 by Empress Maria Theresa to celebrate her son's wedding, it features detailed marble reliefs on one side commemorating the joyous occasion and mourns the sudden passing of her husband Emperor Franz Stephan on the other.
That’s the one of signature at Innsbruck in Austria. Look like the German architecture design. Early morning it less people walk. You come to take photo and enjoy
Mr. N — Google review
The Triumphal Arch in Innsbruck – a monument to both love and loss Built in 1765 by order of Empress Maria Theresa, this striking arch commemorated the wedding of her son, the future Emperor Joseph II. But tragedy soon followed — her husband, Emperor Franz I, died shortly after. As a result, the arch bears a unique dual symbolism: joyful wedding scenes on one side, mourning reliefs on the other. Architecturally, it’s a blend of Baroque and classical clarity, made from marble from nearby quarries. Located at the end of Maria-Theresien-Strasse, it marks the transition to the Old Town — and is a powerful spot for both photos and reflection.
Карен — Google review
Very beautiful arch, was trying to get photos with the gorgeous mountains in the archway but it was getting dark 😔
Malachi M — Google review
The Jubilee Arch in Innsbruck was erected to mark the wedding of the brother of King Joseph II, later Emperor Leopold II, to the Spanish Infanta Maria Ludivica. Among the guests were Queen Maria Theresa and Emperor Franz II Stefan, who died unexpectedly during the ceremony. Maria Theresa subsequently had an impressive chapel built at the place where the emperor died, in the Hofburg, and from then on wore only mourning clothes. The deceased emperor was immortalized on the wedding arch.
Günther R — Google review
Stunning, but small, bit of architecture. Let's be honest, you're not making a day trip out of this sight but it's worth walking to from the centre. Most people just go about their business around it so not a great tourism spot.
John L — Google review
The Triumphpforte, built in 1765, marks the southern end of Maria-Theresien-Straße and stands as one of Innsbruck’s most recognizable landmarks. Commissioned by Empress Maria Theresa, it commemorates both the marriage of her son Leopold II and the sudden death of her husband, Francis I. This duality is reflected in the design, one side celebrating joy, the other mourning loss. While it now sits at a busy intersection, it remains a striking historical monument that frames the city’s past with dignity.
E P — Google review
A historic location in Innsbruck and a must see or drive through. Please watch out for pedestrians and bicycles since this is a busy area with lots of tourists. Lots of nice locations nearby for dining and taking pics. You can also park at a nearby public garage and take the bus or walk here.

Nice gate in the heart of the city. The gate has lots of decorations and made in memory of a win of some war. Fortunately, I spend a night next to the gate. The buildings adjacent to the gate are quite old and have interesting artworks and decorations which are not to be missed.

The Tirol Panorama and Kaiserjäger Museum in Innsbruck is a captivating blend of history, art, and culture. The museum showcases the military history of Tyrol and features the Kaiserjägermuseum, which narrates the story of the Austrian Imperial Army's infantry regiments from 1815 to 1918.
Very special museum. The main attraction, as the name implies is a large circular panoramic picture of a battle that took place there many years ago. With a bit of fantasy and a soundtrack for your inner ear, you can really be immersed in the experience.

Wonderful place. Suggest buying combo tickets for the museum + Bergisel and consider the working hours to make it in time to see both.

A Fascinating Dive into Tyrolean Identity and History The Tyrol Panorama Museum is a must-visit if you’re in Innsbruck and want a deeper understanding of the region’s cultural and historical roots. The highlight is the impressive 360° cyclorama—a massive panoramic painting that vividly depicts the 1809 Tyrolean Rebellion against Napoleon’s forces. It's immersive and powerful, offering a unique storytelling format you won’t find in typical museums. Beyond the panorama, the museum features well-curated exhibits that explore Tyrolean identity—covering military history, religion, daily life, and alpine culture. The design is modern and spacious, and everything is well-labeled in both German and English. Tips for your visit: 🗺️ Located right next to the Bergisel Ski Jump—easy to combine both in one visit. 🎟️ Admission to the Tyrol Panorama Museum is included with Bergisel combo tickets. 🕰️ Plan about 1–1.5 hours to explore the museum at a relaxed pace. 🧒 Family-friendly and engaging for kids thanks to interactive displays. 📸 Outside, you’ll find great photo ops of Innsbruck and the mountains—don’t miss the terrace view. I highly suggest buying combo tickets for both the Tyrol Panorama Museum and Bergisel Ski Jump. It’s more convenient and often better value. Also, be sure to check their opening hours ahead of time and plan your visit so you have enough time to see both attractions comfortably in one day. A great mix of art, history, and regional pride—well worth a stop whether you're a history buff or just curious about Tyrol’s unique past.

While specific historical and architectural details of the Hölbling Haus remain elusive, a critique of its presumed features can be attempted based on the general architectural milieu of Innsbruck. Architectural Splendor The Hölbling Haus, like many structures in Innsbruck's historic core, likely reflects the intricate and ornate style characteristic of Tyrolean architecture. The building may feature elements of the Baroque period, noticeable in elaborate facades, sophisticated stonework, and possibly the use of arches and vaults that speak of a bygone era. Additionally, the building might exhibit Gothic influences, seen in its pointed arches, ribbed vaults, and flying buttresses, all contributing to its majestic appearance. Artistic Facades and Frescoes A defining feature of Innsbruck's historical buildings is the use of frescoes and detailed art on the façades, which the Hölbling Haus presumably also boasts. These frescoes, often vibrant and meticulously crafted, tell tales of history, religion, and culture, offering a visual feast for both art aficionados and casual observers. Adaptation and Practicality Given Innsbruck's alpine location, the Hölbling Haus would have been constructed with practical considerations in mind. Features like steep roofs to manage snowfall and large windows to maximize natural light during the shorter winter days are likely aspects of its design. Such adaptations not only add to the building's functionality but also enhance its aesthetic charm. A Cultural Beacon The Hölbling Haus, situated in the heart of Innsbruck, is not just an architectural marvel; it is a cultural beacon. Its walls, if they could speak, would tell stories of the city's evolution, its people, and their traditions. The building is a must-visit for those seeking to immerse themselves in the historical ambiance of Innsbruck. Conclusion In the absence of specific details, the Hölbling Haus remains shrouded in a veil of mystery, yet its presumed architectural grandeur and historical significance make it a noteworthy subject of admiration. It stands as a testament to Innsbruck's architectural and cultural legacy, beckoning visitors to delve deeper into its storied past. As with many historical buildings in Innsbruck, the Hölbling Haus is likely a hidden gem waiting to be explored and appreciated by those intrigued by history and architecture.

Helblinghaus – a baroque gem! Absolutely unmissable! The richly decorated façade looks like it’s made of sugar — full of stucco angels, masks, and floral ornaments. Though originally built in the 15th century, it was transformed in the 18th century into a Rococo masterpiece. Located right across from the Golden Roof, it creates a stunning contrast of architectural styles. A visual treat for anyone who loves art, design, or history!

Helblinghaus is located in the city center of Innsbruck and is famous for its Rococo-Baroque stucco facade. The house is named after Sebastian Hölbling, who owned it from 1800 to 1827. Its facade features luxurious Baroque stucco. There are many flowers. It is definitely worth stopping and admiring this beautiful work of art.

Hofburg Innsbruck is a grand imperial palace located in the heart of Innsbruck's historic center, showcasing the opulence and influence of the Habsburg dynasty. This 16th-century Renaissance and Baroque residence boasts lavish interiors adorned with frescoes, offering a glimpse into the power and artistic tastes of its former inhabitants.
One of the best museum/church tour presentation. Super engaging and informative, appealing to all ages. Then the actual church where the cenotaph lies, every inches cries out the grandeur of old holy roman empire richness. Don’t miss out this visit

Absolutely amazing. Very large and in the center of the city. Really a must in Innsbruck. The only bad part is that they don’t allow you to take pictures, not even with phones. Other than that, amazing

a medieval building expanded and renovated on the baroque style from the 18th century but still holds gothic parts. the building contains imperial apartments, special exhibition on Emperor Max 1, painting gallery and the impressive Giant Hall with princes and princess's paintings alongside the chapel.

Bad experience regarding the tickets. The Kaiser apartments are 9.5€ only, but the only tickets that we were sold were combined tickets at 20€. The baroque exhibition and Maximilian 1 are not interesting. Please do not make the same mistake and ask for the Kaiser appartement only.

Beautiful palace. Family that ordered built had a very good and timeless taste for decoration. Down one star because they don’t allow you to take pictures when there is so many already around on the internet.

The Hofburg is a former Habsburg palace, considered one of the three most important cultural buildings in the country, along with the Hofburg and Schönbrunn Palaces in Vienna. The Hofburg is the main building of a large residential complex that was once used by the Habsburgs. This palace hosted Maximilian, Maria Tetrezia and Elisabeth-Sisi. The exterior is beautiful and imposing. Unfortunately, there was not enough time for a guided tour.
Bogdan M — Google review
One of the ugliest museography I've ever seen. My visit to the Hofburg in Innsbruck left me with a bitter taste. I had expected an immersion into a place steeped in history, where the walls, objects, and scenography would converse to tell the story of the imperial past and the grandeur of the Habsburgs. Instead, I was confronted with a museum display lacking substance, where spectacle seemed to have taken precedence over historical respect. The modern arrangements, often clumsy, felt imposed without regard for the palace’s heritage dimension. The visual desecration through an overloaded and even kitsch aesthetic drained the spaces of their original majesty. It was a museographic cacophony, where excessive theatricality concealed a real narrative void. To me, this approach is symptomatic of a certain progressive ideology (dominating in Innsbruck...) where the drive for modernity and accessibility sometimes overwhelms the subtlety and solemnity required to preserve such an exceptional heritage. Respecting history, far from being rigid or backward-looking, requires a nuanced understanding of the dialogue between past and present—a dialogue that, unfortunately, has been broken here. The Hofburg deserved a more sober, more respectful approach, and above all, one that remains faithful to its spirit. A missed opportunity, leaving behind the feeling of squandered potential. (And look at the beautiful building they élevated just in front of the Hofburg ...)
Sans S — Google review
Photos and videos are not allowed in the museum and there are quite a few staff around to enforce it. It was interesting to learn about the history of Maria Theresa, how she loved her husband so much that she had his night clothing made into robes for the religious leaders to wear after his passing. The paintings in the family hall/giant hall were exquisite! There was no audio guide available when we went, perhaps the guide was being redeveloped, as we saw numbers with the headphone symbol around at descriptions, but the ticketing office said there are no audio guides. There are no lockers for bags, so if you have a backpack, they will instruct you to wear it at the front.

The Court Church Innsbruck is a stunning Gothic church that houses the tombs of Emperor Maximilian I and Archduke Ferdinand, as well as a 450-year-old organ. While its exterior may seem unassuming, the interior is a treasure trove of historical artifacts and monuments. The Ebert organ, a rare Renaissance instrument, still graces the church with its music.
Amazing church with attached museum that is fascinating. The artwork and artifacts are amazing. Tickets are not expensive for what you get to see. I recommend doing the museum first and then the church.

Absolutely fantastic church and museum, a definite must see if you are in Innsbruck and have even the smallest interest in history and/or religion. It’s not huge but a very interesting visit.
Sam S — Google review
A beautiful church housing the tomb of emperor Maximillian I. The statues and detailing of the building make this an interesting place to look around for a while. A combination ticket can be purchased to enter the attached museum as well.
Madeline K — Google review
The entry costs 9 eur per adult but we found it worthwhile. The church is filled with human size metal sculptures made with incredible artistry. Between them is a mosuleum surrounded by marbel plates carved with tiny details.. Amazing artwork allaround.
Noam S — Google review
Gothic church from mid 16th century. contains the impressive emperor Tomb and the high locals sculptures along side tomb od an Empress and local Tyrol hero. in the upper floor there is also another church. the entrance will be reduced if you already visited the Hofburg. so keep your ticket.
David A — Google review
If the church was free I would likely give it 4 stars for its good audio guide or just to have a quick wander through as you can see it all in about 15-20 minutes (30 if you go very slowly), but removed one as 8 EUR didn’t feel like great value for money. The church was built to commemorate Maximilian I tomb, but his body evidently lies elsewhere per the brochure/statues map. The 28 statues surrounding it of his family and people admired are beautiful and detailed, and a bit unique for a church, as is the adjoining chapel up the stairs. Facility wise there is a cafe and clean toilets, which is a plus. But not worth 8 EUR as a standalone attraction.
Becky T — Google review
It is pretty expensive (8 euros) to go inside the church, but it is free with the Innsbruck card. For the Innsbruck card, you may have to squeeze quite a lot of activities to make it worth though
JY T — Google review
I have to be honest: why do you need to pay 8€ to visit a church with some statues inside of it? To me it doesn't make any sense at all! However, if you are under 19 it is free to enter. What I suggest is, if you are a family, not to enter everyone, but just the ones who can enter for free, so they can make pictures and then they can show you how it is inside, since, again, it is not worth the price

The Tyrolean Folk Art Museum, located in Innsbruck, is a treasure trove of traditional artifacts displayed within the historic walls of a former Franciscan monastery. As you wander through its period rooms, you'll encounter an eclectic mix of wooden saints, hand-painted antique furniture, and intricately carved cowbells. The museum boasts an extensive collection of traditional costumes that offer a glimpse into the region's rich cultural heritage.
I absolutely loved visiting both parts this museum: the Hofkirche and the folk museum. The history and beauty of the Hofkirche’s interior stand in sharp contrast to its plain facade. Stunning! The Stube/parlor period rooms, some dating back over 500 years, are incredible. The cultural artifacts in the rest of the museum are so unique and interesting that I could have spent hours reading all of the descriptions (which are thankfully written in German and English) but my partner (who goes through museums much more quickly than I do) was already killing time in the little cafe in the lobby, waiting for me. (Oh, the things we both do for love.) To make a long story short, this church and museum are not to be missed!!!
Scott K — Google review
A nice museum attached to the Hofkirche. We got a combination ticket to see both, and spent about an hour in the museum. The displays were interesting and identification signs were written in German and English. As part of the museum you can get into the top of the Hofkirche to get a unique overhead view of Maximillian’s tomb.

Wonderful museum!! It features a museum, a church and a pretty cloister with a fountain and statue. We spent a couple of hours here. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the paper guide for the church was very thoughtful and informative! Definitely recommend!

Wonderfully curated museum. We only had a day to spend in Innsbruck and this museum was worth two hours of our day! So much interesting stuff to see, but the highlight was the 14 reconstructed Stuben which really made you feel like you're inside small alpine houses!

Connected to the Church Court, combined ticket available at a lower price. Very nice, with folkloristic objects and scenarios. There was also a great exposition included in the ticket that we truly appreciated.

Very good museum for a rainy day. The combo ticket for 12 euros covers 5 different locations but unfortunately we only had time to do the museum and the church. Both were awesome! As everyone is saying make sure to download the Audioguide on your phone and bring headphones if you can. Also the gift shop had some pretty awesome books!

Small museum in the old town of Innsbruck. With exhibits of local crafts. The facilities and staff were excellent. Not crowded a nice break from the city.

I loved this! If you can only do one thing in Innsbruck, visit this museum. A huge collection of traditional Tyrolean home interiors (whole rooms), tools, household items, furniture, painted wood, games, costumes, clothing and accessories, photographs: work in wood, metal, leather, bone, glass. The details of decorations in all forms are outstanding. From the garden there is a series of rooms with an audio visual presentation about Maximilian's life in languages one following the other (probably every 5 mins). When you get to the church, you understand his burial location. This is good for children as well.

Altstadt Innsbruck, also known as the Old Town, is a charming area nestled against the backdrop of the majestic Alps. Strolling through this medieval quarter offers a comprehensive overview of Innsbruck's famous landmarks such as the iconic Golden Roof, Imperial Palace, Triumphal Arch, and Maria-Theresien Street. The area is rich in history with some buildings dating back over 500 years and meticulous efforts to preserve its medieval details.
Charming and Timeless – A Walk Through Altstadt Innsbruck My visit to Altstadt Innsbruck (Old Town Innsbruck) was like stepping into a storybook. Nestled between majestic Alpine peaks, this historic heart of the city effortlessly blends medieval charm with vibrant modern life. As I wandered through its narrow, cobbled streets, I was surrounded by colorful façades, intricate architecture, and the kind of Old World ambiance that’s hard to find elsewhere. The highlight, of course, was the iconic Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl), glimmering in the sunlight and drawing in history lovers and photographers alike. The nearby buildings, adorned with frescoes and Gothic windows, added to the enchanting atmosphere. Every corner had a hidden gem—from quaint cafés and boutique shops to local markets and street performers that made the experience feel authentic and alive. Whether you’re interested in history, architecture, or just soaking in a picturesque European setting, Altstadt Innsbruck doesn’t disappoint. It’s walkable, welcoming, and rich in culture. I only wish I had more time to explore its museums and enjoy a few more Austrian pastries at one of its charming bakeries. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Tyrol—this place is not just a stop; it’s a highlight.

Nestled in the stunning city of Innsbruck, Ottoburg, also known as Otto Castle, is a historic fortress that has been transformed into a restaurant. Today, Ottoburg is not only an architectural landmark but also one of the most beloved restaurants in town, offering traditional Austrian cuisine to both locals and tourists.

Sorry to say this but food in this place used to be good and tasty. Today we were disappointed. The meat had no taste and way too overcooked. The käsespätzle was ok but also missing some spices. Service was unbelievably bad. Completely ignoring us and when she actually came to the table her face was so angry that I thought we should pay and leave before I make a scene. You need to smile and greet and talk with your guests. Disappointing because the place could have a massive potential not just 3 tables for lunch.

Ottonurb Went to this place as it was recommended by the locals and doesnt have long waiting time when you come without reservations. Ordered: • The Classics : ENTRECOTE "ALT WIEN" €28.90 • The Reinvented : “WILDERERPFANDL” €28.00 • The Desserts : HOMEMADE APPLE STRUDEL €7.50 with Vanilla Sauce (recommended by the staff) extra €1.00 They’re all nice. My favourite was the beef as it’s light but heavy (iykyk). The deer is ‘heavier’ than thr beef. Strudel was ok. Overall they’re good. I would come back eat the beef again 😊 The service was a bit slow as we’re at the top level (three levels in total) and i pity the staffs that have to go up and down the stairs to take orders and give the orders to us. Note: €2.70 pp for table seating service

We had an amazing evening. The service was excellent, thanks to our friendly and attentive waiter. The ambiance was beautiful, with plenty of space in the outdoor seating area. Live music added a special touch to the night, complementing the elegant table decorations of candles and flowers. The food was delicious, boasting authentic flavors and a unique taste. We started with a tasty Carpaccio and a seasonal mixed salad. For our main courses, we enjoyed: - Creamy Veal Goulash - Pepper Filet Steak - Chicken Breast “Tuscany” - Wildererpfandl Each dish was generously portioned and bursting with flavor. The meal was perfectly paired with a great wine, Zweigelt Unathum. Thank you to all the staff and the chef for this wonderful evening.

Nestled in the heart of Innsbruck, the Dom St. Jakob stands as a stunning example of 18th-century Baroque architecture. Originally built on the site of a Romanesque church from the 12th century, its construction spanned from 1717 to 1724 under architect Johann Jakob Herkomer’s vision.
Dom St. Jakob is absolutely stunning inside — a beautiful baroque cathedral with elaborate frescoes, ornate altars, and a peaceful atmosphere. Restaurant Goldener Adler in Innsbruck is a historic dining spot that attracts both locals and tourists. The restaurant offers a modern twist on traditional dishes, such as pork medallions with ham and Gorgonzola, and veal steaks with a creamy herb sauce. The ambiance is charming, with romantic dining rooms on the ground floor and a summer terrace for people-watching.
I recommend this place for amazing local cuisine! Food: We ordered local dishes like the Tartar and the Gulasch. The Tartar was among the best I have eaten as the quality of the meat was very good. Sadly they didn't have deer Gulasch but the beef one was very tasty as well. I saw a few reviews about the price of the food and recommend to maybe not order fries with chicken nuggets and expect MC Donalds prices. This place makes great local food so I recommend ordering local dishes also. Service & Atmosphere: The staff is super friendly and professional and the location itself quite cozy and clean.

I visited Restaurant Goldener Adler in Innsbruck with my family, including my two children. We loved the cozy atmosphere and beautiful old architecture of the building. The food was very good, and I especially enjoyed the Wiener Schnitzel. Unlike many nearby restaurants that are mostly for tourists, this place feels more genuine and serves proper, authentic Austrian food. Good wine too. Our waiter helped us choose the right wine to go with our meal, which made the experience even better. The service was friendly, and made us feel welcome. It was a great place to eat after exploring nearby sights.

As a family (my wife and 6 month old son) went there for dinner to experience the typical Austrian cuisine. We went there spontaneously and have found immediately a table; it was at the back of the restaurant, with some few stair steps. The manager himself offered us his help to carry our stroller to the dinning table - very friendly. We ordered a typical Austrian dish with mashed potatoes and meatballs plus Wienerschnitzel (veal). The meat was so tender and soooo delicious. Also the wine recommendation from the manager was great. What the stay made remarkable was the outstanding, professional and friendly service of our waiter Martin. He managed everything and took time to explain us the dishes although they were quite busy. Food and drinks came always very fast (thanks to Martin’s colleagues). That was the reason why returned the day after for the dessert. The day after, Martin offered us a great table with the stroller and his friendly smile. We enjoyed the Kaiserschmarren and the couple of white wine glasses. My wife and myself will come back anytime again. We can definitely recommend this place to anyone; delicious food, excellent & friendly service and in a great ambience.

Nice restaurant in Hotel Goldener Adler in Innsbrook. Historic hotel, dating back centuries. The menu is up to date, current Austrian fare. Service was crisp, attentive. Cocktails were excellent! Asparagus soup (in season) was good, as was the beef. Nice bottle of white Austrian wine rounded out dinner. Dessert .., strudel with vanilla ice cream (learning scoops are much smaller in EU!). Enjoyed dinner so much, forgot photos! 😅 Recommend this place for dinner.

Very interactive and very interesting place to visit. We had a lot of fun and we learned a lot! It certainly is a place for people who understand German, English or Italian. Otherwise some attractions may be difficult to follow and kids would switch off. Be prepared for a lot of translating and patience and it will pay off.

Good place to spend time with children. If you are adult then you can get bored. In my opinion, only the "detective" game was interesting and some old electronic devices.

Really enjoyable stay, especially for the rainy days in Innsbruck. The kids had a great time.
Moshe M — Google review
Highly recommended!! It may be more exciting for the youth and kids, with its interactive concept. There was one room which depicted how people with different types of hearing go through daily life. That part made me more appreciative of the fact that I don’t have any hearing defects. I had limited time and couldn’t see everything in the space. But I genuinely enjoyed the parts I did manage to see.

Audioversum Innsbruck: A Sensory Experience for the Whole Family The Audioversum is an interactive science museum dedicated to the sense of hearing, located in Innsbruck, Austria. We visited the Audioversum during a ski vacation in Stubai Glacier, and we were very impressed by how fun and educational it was. Pros * Interactive and engaging: The Audioversum is a very interactive museum, with many hands-on exhibits that involve visitors in the process of learning about hearing. Our children had a great time experimenting with different sounds and instruments. * Educational: The Audioversum provides a lot of information about hearing, from how the ear works to the impact of noise on our health. We learned many new and interesting things. * Suitable for all ages: The Audioversum is a museum suitable for all ages. Children will have fun experimenting with the exhibits, while adults will appreciate the detailed scientific information. * Accessible: The Audioversum is centrally located in Innsbruck and is easily accessible by public transport. Cons * Can be crowded: The Audioversum is a popular museum and can be crowded, especially on weekends and during school holidays. * Visit duration: You can easily spend a few hours at the Audioversum, so plan your visit accordingly. Our experience We visited the Audioversum on a rainy day when we couldn't ski. It was a perfect activity for a bad weather day. Our children had a great time experimenting with the exhibits, and we appreciated the educational information. We spent about three hours at the museum, and we could have stayed longer if we didn't have to leave. Recommendations * Book tickets in advance: The Audioversum is a popular museum and can be crowded, so it is recommended to book tickets in advance. * Plan your visit: The Audioversum is a large museum with many exhibits. Plan your visit accordingly to make sure you have time to see everything. * Take your time to experiment: Don't rush through the museum. Take your time to experiment with the exhibits and learn about hearing. Conclusion Overall, we had an excellent experience at the Audioversum Innsbruck. It was a fun and educational activity for the whole family. We highly recommend the Audioversum to anyone visiting Innsbruck, regardless of age. I hope this review was helpful. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Amazingly well maintained, interactive exhibits. We didn’t know what to expect, but were really surprised by how much there was to do—from watching sound turn into electrical impulses, to solving a crime, to riding a VR rollercoaster. This is a marketing initiative from a company that invented hearing aids; you might think that would make it a sales pitch, but instead it means it’s well funded and the exhibits actually work. Good for kids from 8 (play areas) to 16 (inserting an implant into a model of the inner ear with a microscope.)
Alistair C — Google review
There are a large number of interactive games, but they are interesting mainly for children. I liked the game Balance the most. A similar exposition in Vienna in the House of Music is much more intense
Marina V — Google review
It's a pretty cool place to spend an afternoon with your kids. The place isn't super big, and the things you can do that don't require being able to read German, English, or Italian are done quite quickly. Some parts of the exhibit rely on listening different sounds, which can be difficult with the level of the background noise even when the centre is not even half full. Highlights for kids: Binaural bird hunt, detective game, VR rollercoaster.

I passed the church when walking around the Town Center, close to St Anne's Column. I was around at night so it wasn't open and I wasn't able to go in. The pink building stood out from the other items and the spire also helps in identifying it. I was there around Christmas and there was a little parade in front of the area with kids and adults walking down with torches.

I visited this Church in July 2022. It was a beautiful looking church but what stood out for me was the kind and thoughtful cleric/priest/father that was in this church. He was an elderly man and was praying near the confession booths. As a Muslim, I needed a place to pray and I approached him and asked him whether it would be ok for me to perform my daily prayer at his church as I didn't have anywhere to pray. With the little English he knew, he acknowledged that it was ok for me to lay my prayer mat and turbah/mohr and prayer there. After my prayers, I approached him to thank him to which he replied "Pray for me" and I replied thanked him and also asked for him to also pray for me. Lovely looking place of worship and welcoming priest!

We were looking for something to do on a day with dreadful weather and as this museum was open till 6 we gave it a go. One of the most disappointing museums I’ve ever seen. I couldn’t believe it was just three fairly empty rooms and two screenings of questionable quality or significance. It’s a shame because it’s things like this museum that give modern art a bad reputation, when modern art can be amazing.

I went there for an exhibition called "Bleiben in der Fremde" which was something I had been very curious about because it touched upon both Turkish and Germanic cultures at the same time from the perspective of foreigners, mainly people who migrated there. However, I gotta say that I couldn't find I was looking for. Maybe it's because I got used to seeing way more bigger exhibitions where I lived before, but it was still a nice experience there. By the way, I should say that the photos were taken in March 2023.

Nestled high in the mountains, Brunnenkogelhaus is a delightful refuge that awaits hikers after an invigorating trek from Soelden. The journey typically takes around 3-4 hours and involves a significant altitude gain of approximately 1,450 meters. As you ascend through lush forests for the first part of your hike, you'll reach Brunnenkogelalm, where refreshments are available via an honesty box during summer months.
Fantastic hike up from Soelden, with a nice Hütte at the top to enjoy lunch or refreshments. You can reach the hut departing from Windau in Soelden. It’s about 3-4 hours depending on which route you take and fitness levels. Total altitude gain of 1,450m or so. You enjoy a walk up through forest for the first 1-2 hours to reach Brunnenkogelalm (which was closed in summer but offered an honesty box for some beverages). You then climb a bit further up and the path splits. As other reviewers mention, the left hand fork toward wannerkarsee is a nice option, it probably adds 2-3km more distance (but this is relatively flat, there is not much additional altitude), and you are rewarded with lovely hiking through the tree line, I really enjoyed this. The right hand fork is more directly up to the hut along the mountain face exposed towards south west. I took this path on the descent, which is quite fast but steep. The hut itself was a very nice spot for lunch. Very friendly service and delicious soup! Thank you!!

(Translated by Google) If you've ever had any experience with metalworking, you should definitely set aside an hour or an hour and a half. An old forge, featuring the simplest technology from the century before last, beautiful to look at and historically highly interesting. The museum guide (a trained toolmaker) has answers to all your questions and is also available for a chat and/or joke. The €2 entrance fee is more than worth it. Opening hours only in the summer, on Wednesdays between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM (Original) Wenn man irgendwann mal was mit Schlosserei zu tun hatte, sollte man sich ruhig ein, anderthalb Stunden Zeit nehmen. Catholic church
Nestled on the Hungerburg above Innsbruck, the Wallfahrtskirche zur hl. Theresia vom Kinde Jesu is a hidden gem that beckons visitors with its unique charm. This pilgrimage church may not be widely known, but it boasts stunning frescoes by renowned artists Ernst Nepo and Max Weiler, which resemble impressionist masterpieces. As you step inside, you'll encounter a shrine dedicated to St.
I just wanted to take a little rest in the church, but I was surprised by the strong paintings therein. Worth a visit.

Historical landmark
Nestled on the outskirts of Innsbruck's charming Old Town, Palais Claudiana stands as a historical gem that once served as the government building for Tyrol. This elegant structure is named in honor of Countess Claudia de Medici, adding a touch of nobility to its rich heritage. While it may not be open for casual exploration, visitors can still experience its grandeur by attending various events held within its walls.
(Translated by Google) I quote Innsbruck info: "Palais Claudiana is the name of the former government building of the federal state of Tyrol, located on the edge of Innsbruck's Old Town and named after Countess Claudia de Medici." Too bad it can only be visited by buying tickets to the events it hosts. Nestled in the charming Hofgasse, the Burgriesenhaus is a captivating late Gothic structure that whispers secrets through its enchanting archway. This unique feature, known as the "Whispers Arch," invites visitors to share sweet nothings—just be cautious about what you reveal! Originally built around 1490 for Archduke Sigismund's towering bodyguard, Niklaus Haidl, this historic house has seen centuries of fascinating stories unfold.
(Translated by Google) It was built around 1490, at the behest of Archduke Sigismund, to house his bodyguard, Niklaus Haidl, a powerful knight 2.20 meters tall, considered a true giant. Two hundred years later it was the residence of Prince Eugene of Carignano, a legendary leader in the service of the Habsburgs, but originally from the House of Savoy. The house shares the entrance, through the famous "Whispers Arch", with the medieval home of a famous court jester, only 60 centimeters tall. Today, the Burgriesenhaus houses a souvenir and gift shop.
