Sanssouci Palace, a summer residence of the king with 18th-century furnishings and iconic terraced vineyards, embodies the ideas of the Age of Enlightenment. Potsdam, where it is located, was designed to be a picturesque pastoral dream that reflects residents' connection with nature and reason. The city is known for its interconnected lakes and cultural landmarks like Sanssouci Palace, part of Germany's largest World Heritage Site.
Beautiful castle full of history with magnificent gardens and architecture. Take your time visiting every corner of this place. Don’t forget to stroll the town too. You can rent bikes at the subway station, it will ease your visit since parking is very limited.

A MUST see if you are in Potsdam and definitely worth to also take a stroll to find many gems. We loved it and were lucky to catch a beautiful sunny day in September. Wouldn’t recommend to go in the winter, because of the beautiful flowers.
Dr. B — Google review
Really stunning garden I like the right one which is like a symetrical maze. There they want to plant fruit days like in the creation days. The statues around the central fountain are very impressive for me
Sören K — Google review
The most beautiful place I've been in whole berling during pur trip. Didn't enter the palace. Restroom is 1 euro but there are free wc in the park
Lior N — Google review
One of the prettiest places I have visited so far. Would definitely recommend checking it out. Make sure you take your time, we spent 2 hours here but still didn’t have enough time to see all the palaces. Book your tickets ahead of time if you wanna go inside anywhere!
Jonathan L — Google review
Visited September 2025. It is a very beautiful place. It took over an hour to get here on the train from Berlin, but the train broke down twice on the way. It is a very beautiful place with a lot of history. You can walk around for hours viewing all the gardens and fountains. It was worth the visit to Potsdam to come here.
Josh H — Google review
Ancient castles located close to each other with historical significance. A vast park perfect for walking or having a picnic. Everything looks stunning in autumn.
Dinh B — Google review
Sanssouci Palace in Potsdam is a perfect day trip for history lovers, architecture enthusiasts, and anyone who enjoys stunning gardens. The rococo elegance of Frederick the Great’s summer retreat is breathtaking, with its golden-yellow facade, vineyard terraces, and beautifully decorated rooms like the Marble Hall and Voltaire Room. The park surrounding the palace is equally impressive—perfect for a leisurely stroll among fountains, sculptures, and hidden gems like the Chinese House. The views from the terraces are postcard-worthy, especially in spring and summer when the flowers are in full bloom.

Cecilienhof Palace, located in the northern end of Neuer Garten park in Potsdam, is a historic site with a rich and complex history. Originally built for Crown Prince Wilhelm of Prussia and his wife Duchess Cecilie, the palace was their residence until February 1945. The couple's support of Hitler led to their forced departure from Cecilienhof during World War II.
Relatively small palace but the architecture is beautiful and the history is really interesting. This is where the US, UK and former Soviet held the Potsdam conference. If you visit Potsdam I highly recommend to visit this palace! We were here after Sanssouci palace and had only 2 hours but we needed more time, learned so much from the audio guide too.
Don P — Google review
Blown away by the glorious beauty and the history of the place. Achingly gorgeous setting, sobering history. The gardens were in full bloom, an explosion of color that set off the Tudor-style mansion. Very surreal to imagine the events here that shaped the 20th century. Phenomenal woodwork - I could see the similarities with the James J. Hill mansion in St. Paul. Lots of fantastic books in every room. An absolute must-see.
Heather S — Google review
What an amazing place! So much history. No backpacks inside as the space is smaller than you'd think. Make sure to download the app to hear the navigation and information for each space!
Jennifer F — Google review
Worth the short bus ride to get to. It’s a unique palace/country house with a lot of history behind it. Many of the rooms on the inside are set up how they were during the Potsdam Conference which is interesting to see.
Krista P — Google review
A beautiful, calm place with splendid view of lake, river and lawns.
Umair N — Google review
A must if you love architecture and WWII sites! The Tudor villa is amazing and its gardens immaculate. The outside is free but if you want to visit the inside downstairs where the Potsdam conference happened, you will need a ticket! I just purchased on site and they have free audio guide too! Cash and credit cards accepted! You need to use lockers for backpacks make sure you have euro coin and filming was not allowed. The beautiful red star garden is only seen from the inside! Highly recommend!
Virginia L — Google review
At first glance, it seemed like a normal palace but it holds a dual history. One of the kings before the fall of the empires and other the after WW2 history. Many historical figures lived here who decided the aftermath of the world after WW2. It's the iconic conference venue of the conference. Around this you have an excellent beautiful garden. Wonderful lake. Nearby other palaces. Overall it's a must visit place. You can be part of WW2 history.
Lithe J — Google review
This is - it absolutely is! - the model for the houses of chocolate I used to see in my childhood infant books. This Tudor style little palace is gorgeous, it comes straight out from wonderland. I couldn't help noticing the Red Star in the back garden... it was still there many decades after it was probably imposed on this site by some over-zealous garden-chief.

The Museum Barberini, located in the heart of Potsdam, is a renowned art museum that houses an exceptional collection of impressionist paintings donated by Hasso Plattner, the founder of SAP. The museum showcases an extensive array of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masterpieces from artists like Monet, Renoir, Caillebotte, and Signac. In addition to its permanent collection, the museum hosts temporary exhibitions in collaboration with international partners.
Museum Barberini: A Must-Visit Day Trip from Berlin Barberini never ceases to impress! Just a short and scenic day trip from Berlin, the museum is perfectly situated right across from Potsdam’s main train station—making it incredibly easy to access. The short walk to the museum offers lovely views that set the tone for the experience ahead. The museum itself is impeccable. Every exhibition is thoughtfully curated with both care and expertise, offering a deep yet accessible insight into the art. The audio tour is especially well done—concise, engaging, offering interesting details and relevant context. They also plan talks; conversations and other events. Last but not least the museum has a patio toward the river which only adds to the entire experience. ☞ Pro Tips: Be sure to download the Museum Barberini app before your visit. It gives you access to the audio guide (many languages), curatorial commentary, interviews, and more—all right at your fingertips. 🎫 Buy your Museum tickets in advance (online) 🔑 You will be asked to leave your bags and coats stored: Bring a 1 or 2 Eur coin 📚 Don't forget the gift shop ☕ 🍰Cakes at the coffee shop are TOP! 🚂 If you come from Berlin buy ABC train ticket

Very impressive collection overall, especially if you like impressionism, Monet is everywhere in the museum. Overall there are many 3ayd to get a reduced or even free admission, whether a student or anything else of a number of things. Definitely a great stop!
Edwin K — Google review
Amazing collection of impressionist, neo-realist, and fauvist art. Probably the best collection outside of France or maybe Vienna. The special Pisarro exhibition was incredible. The only thing I didn't like was how the security were pushy even about small bags.
Arseni K — Google review
In 31 days, on Sep 28, the Pissarro special exhibition will close up. Catch it while you can. Wonderfully curated, this comprehensive retrospective traces the growth of Camille Pissarro, a man who never stopped experimenting, adapting and refining his visions. ⭐The walls texts balance contextual information with formal analysis. Thoroughly enjoyable. ⭐The audio guide, easily downloadable, is designed so that playing the tracks on built-in loudspeakers is technically impossible. Visitors have to use each headphones or keep the phone to their ears. The viewing and listening experience is, thanks to this design feather, as free from disturbances as possible. ⭐The permanent collection is also top-notch. My personal fav is the room themed “The Colour White”. Various renditions of snow-blanketed landscapes at the end of the Little Ice Age provide a memorable study of how hues and shades other than white give the impression of white. ⭐Logistics: Plenty of locks of all sized. Operated with 1 or 2 Euro coins, which you get back when you vacate the locker. ⭐Phone charging mini cabinets with locks. Appreciated.

If you love Impressionist painters, this will be Heaven for you! Fill 3 floors of Monet, Pissarro ams Renoir! Highly recommended to visit!
Boris N — Google review
Really enjoyed this museum, we arrived on an open day so the entrance was free and they had a Pissarro collection alongside many other Impressionism works. I recommend visiting if in Potsdam, the visit shouldn’t last more than 40-50 minutes in my opinion.

Nestled in a grand 1685 building, Filmmuseum Potsdam is a haven for film enthusiasts. The museum's main attraction is the permanent exhibition 'Dream Factory - 100 Years of Film in Babelsberg,' which delves into the illustrious history of the Babelsberg film studios, the oldest in the world.
Very nice place. Informative, not boring, polite personal. Not expensive for what you get in exchange! Definitely recommending
Griciai T — Google review
A beautifully well done (and small) museum on German film history, with special exhibits on the first floor that change depending on what is on at the moment (great design, attention to detail and informative nature). The ground floor had a very insightful exhibit on German film stars, set designers, directors, films and sound (with a small interactive sound room). There was a small movie theater with a movie projecting onto the wall and nice wall interactive videos with headphone attachments. I learned a lot about Potsdam as a film hub, as well as Babelsberg being the biggest studios in Europe and very influential in local, European and international productions.
E M — Google review
Excellent film museum, drawing heavily on the close proximity and influence of Babelsberg. Almost all of the information is in both German and English, lots of fun interactive exhibits for kids, and very interesting temporary exhibits. The staff is also extremely friendly and helpful 😁 This museum is a real treat and a must-see for all film buffs!
Elizabeth D — Google review
I enjoyed the collections. However, I expected more. The staff was friendly.
Tapas B — Google review
Very thorough, informative, and interactive exhibits. The docent I spoke with on my visit to the museum was equally informative AND engaging! An all-around entertaining and enjoyable experience, which I highly recommend. I stayed until they were closing up, but will happily return to see more!
Christina V — Google review
Very nice and interactive museum, also offering movies and exhibitions. I appreciate that most was also translated to English.
Lorena B — Google review
Wonderful exhibit on the ground floor where you can spend hours, but the upstairs specialty exhibits (like the Andreas Dresen one I visited) tend to lack English translations, so they miss out on a lot of foreign eyes. A multi language audio headphone tour would be a game changer here!
Lyuben K — Google review
This is a wonderfully organised film museum with a very supportive staff system. Their monthly catalogues are very well made. Two weeks back, I contacted the support team to enquire about the screening of 'Pulp Fiction'. Not only I got an immediate response, but also my seats were reserved. When we 7 people reached the museum, they moved with us in a very friendly manner while issuing the tickets. The receptionist was quite interested in reading out my surname from my past email, and we had a brief cultural exchange. It does take some time to visit the museum, but if you have time by your side in Potsdam, this is definitely worth a visit.

Babelsberg Palace, a stunning Neo-Gothic structure built in 1833, is nestled within the picturesque Park Babelsberg in Potsdam. The palace is surrounded by beautifully landscaped English-style gardens and sits along the idyllic river Havel. Notably, it played a role in Cold War history as the location of the first agent exchange between the Soviet Union and the USA in 1962, depicted in the film 'Bridge of Spies.'
Wonderful place to visit in Potsdam. This is an exceptional castle for sure.

Sanssouci Park, located east of the city center in Potsdam, is a renowned attraction known for its formal gardens and historical buildings. Built as a summer palace by Prussian King Frederick the Great, it rivals Versailles with its intimate Rococo style and numerous temples and follies in the surrounding park.
A really good trip out around the local area and then to the palace. Its small but impeccably designed with a lot of fine detail. As this was more of a retreat for the king its less grand in scale than other palaces but I really enjoyed visiting it and learning the history.

I loved everything about this venue it's got something for everyone gardens architecture art galleries. We spent 6 and a half hour there and it didn't feel like it in any way the scenes are on overdrive with so much to take in its something that I could do a few times and still have not seen everything. Spectacular day trip for sure 😃

Beautiful and vast city park with breath taking landscapes and architecture. Great place to spend time with friends or family. It's very huge - it may take hours or days to take every route and explore reach path located in the park. The entrance is free and there's few gates you can get through. Hard to miss if you plan to visit Postdam.
Tomasz X — Google review
A small, cause it was the summer one, but very beautiful palace. With the ticket of 22 euros you get to visit almost all places in Potsdam. Definitely more worth it to visit in the summer time or at least while everything's still green, since the gardens are a big, important part.

Sanssouci Park is absolutely stunning! Walking through the gardens is a true delight, with so many beautiful spots to explore and photograph. The highlight for me was the Orangerieschloss! The Chinese House in Sanssouci Park is a restored teahouse built between 1755 and 1764, featuring gilded statues and 18th-century porcelain. Situated above the Sanssouci Palace, it offers breathtaking views of the formal gardens, reflecting pool, and terraced planting beds that reflect the Prussian kings' vision of harmony between nature and man.
Tucked away in the Sanssouci Park is this wonderful elegant building. The architecture is stunning and we were lucky to have the place to ourselves on our visit as it gave us the time to truly appreciate the magnificence of all the intricate work held within it. The porter was very informative about the statues at the entrance and explained about the gold leaf design. Oh to have been there when it was in use

Definitely the most impressive in my opinion building in the whole Sanssouci park, when we take into consideration it's size. It's packed with features and details from every angle, so walking around it, especially since its not that big, is actually recommended.

Charlottenhof Palace, located in Sanssouci Park in Potsdam, is a neoclassical 18th-century country house that served as the summer residence for Crown Prince Friederick Wilhelm. Built by Prussian King Frederick the Great, it is often compared to Versailles and features Roman-inspired architecture both inside and out. The palace is open for guided tours from May to October and offers visitors a glimpse into its rich history and royal connections.
Very restful. Stunning tranquil grounds. Transports you to how the gentry might have spent their time walking in the park.
Matthew C — Google review
Yesteday, my partner and I visited Charlottenhof Palace. It was kind of disappointing, because it was far, the furniture is not original, and there are no painted ceilings or paintings but prints.
Guido C — Google review
Unfortunately the guided tour's language is based on the number of foreign speaking participants. Since our group had more German people in it, the tour was in German, and English speakers were handed an A4 paper with details on it. The Tour guide went into a lot more detail than on the paper, so it took a bit from our experience.
Amadé S — Google review

The New Palace, also known as Neue Palace, is an opulent 18th-century palace located in Sanssouci Park. Commissioned by Frederick the Great and completed between 1763 and 1769, it boasts lavish rococo interiors adorned with numerous paintings. Initially intended for state events and official guests after the 7 Years War, it later became the official residence of Kaiser William II.
Really enjoyed the Visit to the Summer Palace. The tour is included in the price of the ticket, so you are always accompanied by a guide (therefore no big crowds inside due to the time slots). The palace is beautiful on the inside and I enjoyed the explanations given. You can walk, via the gardens, to all the other palaces.
Claudia C — Google review
Good to go once to one of the palaces in the park!! If you have seen palaces in India, this will make you feel like a house of a rich person and not like a palace! Is this really a grand palace, may be yes given they had to quickly build this!
Manmohan — Google review
A massive and beautiful palace that's kinda missing some grand garden in front, that would go with it's architecture and style. It's just a long wide dirt roads, neatly trimmed grass and trees in pots. It's a shame, where are some water features, some bushes, flowers etc? It's kinda bleak, especially when you compare it to for example orangerie in the same area.

After visiting Sanssouci this of course has bigger dimensions but still feels underwhelming somehow. Anyway the rooms are still pretty and it might be worth the entree fee for some people. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

We were told that only guided tour visits were allowed and it would take about 45 minutes. There is a new tour in every 20 minutes. Huge and has so many incredibly designed rooms. The room that was decorated with shells all over was my favorite. I visited a few days after Christmas and it was amazing to see they had decorated it for Christmas.

Filmpark Babelsberg, situated in Potsdam, Brandenburg, is a captivating theme park that celebrates the enchanting world of cinema and television. It offers an immersive experience into the art of filmmaking with high-tech cinematic rides, stunt shows, film sets to explore, and engaging adventures for kids. As one of the oldest and largest film studios globally, it provides a unique glimpse into Germany's rich film history from its golden age to contemporary contributions.
I visited the Filmpark back in 2017 with my Mom. It is a really Fun place to visit - my Mom and I had a blast. We spend several hours exploring the entire Park. My favorite was seeing all the Characters from the Sandman and the Set where they where just Filming Jim Knopf Movie (Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver) I grew up in German and as a Kid I watched the original. The same goes for the Sandman. I watched that every night. This brought back so many fun memories. This Park is worth the visit in my opinion. Especially if you can relate to some of the Characters in the Park. We at in one of the Restaurants and the Food was good. Hopefully on my next visit to Berlin I will make another trip to the Park to see what has changed.

Small park, but a good day trip from Berlin!my daughter loved the 4 D cinema, stunt show and lil boat ride!we ate in restaurants there,it was ok!Very nice playground for kids!😊 We found little costly like 2€ per hour!so almost 12 to 14€ if you spend 6 to 7 hours there!
Prachi S — Google review
I remembered it way better then it is. Pros: Stunt show is very cool and the 4D cinema as well. Cons: the free and worth seeing attractions all stop at like 4 pm. The last 4D movie is at like 4:30 pm after that you can only go to the ones that cost. We sat down in a small theatre to watching the documentary about the place. When it was done a lady yelled at us for still being here cause apparently the park already closed. Overall a sad experience.

It’s a good place for young children. Let’s say up to 10. There are no roller coaster in case you look for some! They have stunt shows, VR sessions, 4D cinema, some little attractions like lazy river or snapshot hall, but it’s mostly it. Some people mistake it with real Babelsberg Studio but it’s just a theme park based next to the main quarters of the famous Studio. There is a small space for autocars if you travel with the group. Also a couple of restaurants and cafe’s inside. Recomended for families with children and schools (1-5 grade maximum).

As two adults we spend around 3 hours here, it was quite fun, I didn’t know this many Hollywood movie has been recorded here, interactive shows are quite nice, food was editable and the staff was kind. If I have guests I may consider to have a visit here. I’m not sure if kids understand enough, there are a few playgrounds For smaller kids and for bigger ones, maybe from 6 years on it can be intresting.

Disappointing Value for the Price – Filmpark Babelsberg Needs a Rethink The experience at Filmpark Babelsberg simply doesn’t justify the high ticket price. At €28 per adult, the value feels incredibly out of balance. Had the price been closer to €12, I might have felt differently. While it was somewhat interesting to see old set pieces, many were poorly presented—accompanied by little to no information and lacking context that would help visitors (both German and foreign like us) appreciate their significance. Even for the films I recognized, the props were often unidentifiable. Older films were referenced, but without stills or clips playing nearby, the displays felt disconnected and incomplete. I wasn’t expecting a Disney-level experience, but I did hope for something on par with other German parks like Phantasialand. Unfortunately, Filmpark Babelsberg falls short in attention to detail. The costume for their mascot, Flimmy, was literally broken, with cracked film reels on his shoulders. It looked tired. Several employees were on their phones and, while not outright rude, they didn’t seem engaged or particularly welcoming. The 4D attraction was underwhelming: the waiting area looked like it had been decorated in 2005 by a group of high schoolers with a moderate budget, rather than by professionals. The audio inside suffered from feedback and was hard to understand. Other attractions showed signs of neglect—faded paint, cracked structures, and uninspired landscaping that felt more like a tired city park at the end of summer than a well-maintained theme destination. Ironically, it looked like a significant chunk of the park’s budget went to a photo-op attraction at the back, which only highlighted the imbalance. That said, younger children seemed to have a great time. The play areas and jungle gyms looked fun, and even the slides were fast and enjoyable for the adults in our party. But for a park that advertises itself as “fun for the whole family,” it should also engage adults—not leave them feeling underwhelmed or even a bit grimy by the end. And please, for the love of all things family-friendly: ban smoking. It’s shocking that it’s allowed in a park aimed at children. It absolutely ruins the atmosphere for those of us who just want to enjoy some fresh air. I would genuinely love the opportunity to walk through the park with the stakeholders and show them what I saw. I want Filmpark Babelsberg to succeed—to be fun, creative, and worthwhile. But in its current state, it just feels like a waste of time.
Jordan W — Google review
No more than 3 stars. I heard about this park several years ago and I think it should be one of the best Filmpark in the world. However, when I came here, I can't recommend it to be honest. Reason: 1. You have to wait for soooo long for some activities. Like the theater. It is so rediculous that we wait for 45min for such in experience. It should be more well managed. 2. The food is so bad. You can charge a lot, it is fine. But you shall also provide some proper food. The kids box is not even enough for a 5 years kid to eat. 3. The park is really small. I think 3hours is totally enough. Highlights: Stuntshow is quit good, so the there are2.5 out if 3 stars is given to the show.

New Garden, also known as Neuer Garten, is an expansive 18th-century lakeside garden in Potsdam. This picturesque landscape seamlessly blends nature and architectural marvels, including the royal parks of Babelsberg and Sanssouci. The area also encompasses UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Glienicke Park, Pfaueninsel (Peacock Island), and Sacrow Park with the Heilandskirche (Church of the Redeemer) standing by the water.
The visit to these palaces was very relaxing. I visited them during the summer and the fact that it is located near a lake is fascinating. You can go for a bike ride in the park, enjoy a picnic why not even swim in the water of the lake

My favorite park in Potsdam so far. Such a great landscape with greens and blues. Right next to the park is a lake. Along the path you will find many things to see. Dutch Establishment, Pyramid, Marble Palace, an elephant-shaped tree, Cecilienhof and a great brewery. Enjoy your walk or relaxation here :)

Incredibly spacious and beautiful park. In this place I first time encountered the fact that I stopped and looked simply at the space in front of me. There was nothing but bushes, trees and grass, but this empty zone seemed spacious, well-groomed and fresh(this park was designed by knowledgeable people). There are several historical sights in the park as the Marble Palace and Cecilienhof Palace. I highly recommend visiting both the park itself and its attractions.

Lots to see here within walking distance of the city centre. Most famous is the Cicilienhof, where the Potsdam Conference took place in 1945. The Gardens are pretty and peaceful, there is amongst others also the Marmor Palace, and the Alte Meierei (Restaurant, Bar, Brewery) on the edge of the lake and its a short walk to Glienicke and Babelsberg Palaces and the infamous Glienicke Bridge

It’s a really nice park just out side of Berlin in Potsdam. I took S7 directly from Alexander Platz and 50 mins later arrived in station called Babelsberg, then walked around 15-20 mins to the gate of the park (see the 2nd pic). The park is free and very big, lots of green, trees and grass area in side, just bring a blanket or picnic blanket there, then you will receive abundance of peace and tranquility. There is a cafe inside the park, just provide drinks and finger food there, if you wanna something bigger can get it from the restaurants near the station u mentioned above. The castles are closed when I arrived, but you can still see it from outside. It’s a good place to bring your family, kids, or friends there to escape from the noisy and busy city center of Berlin.

My favourite park in Potsdam. I spent countless hours here, living in a student dormitory. Long walks at every season. Admiring the castles, jogging, sitting and reading if the weather allowed. It is amazing how many views you can find while strolling the park. Amazing views to Glienicker Brücke, or lost between the trees. Absolutely marvellous.

Another outstanding park in Potsdam. Walking and biking paths are excellent. My favorite part is that there are various places to relax next to the Tiefer See and go for a swim on a warm day.

One of the best places next to Berlin. It’s nice to come here to ride a bike, have a picnic 🧺 or just take a walk. Park has two castles 🏰 with opportunity to visit them. View from both of them very nice as you can see river, yachts and beautiful fields. There is one restaurant in the park just next to river. They have very tasty deserts and good seasonal menu. For autumn they usually serve delicious pumpkin soup.

Russian restaurant
Restaurant Alexandrowka is a charming and cozy eatery located in one of the historic buildings of the Alexandrowka colony. It offers a genuine Russian dining experience with original Russian cuisine and specialty teas. The interior exudes a traditional ambiance, adorned with authentic Russian art and decorations. Guests can enjoy generous portions of dishes like creamy beef stroganoff alongside cookies, all at fair prices. The friendly staff are happy to provide recommendations and answer any questions, adding to the welcoming atmosphere.
Delicious Russian dishes in a quaint and colourful, traditional wooden house. The deco is a little kitschy, owing to the heavy folkloric style, but it's very atmospheric and you really feel like you have landed there. Prices are a little high, but table service is excellent and smiley and the location is really beautiful, next to the fruit orchards of Alexandrowka. They have some outside space too for the warm days. Avoid going on Sundays, as it's quite hectic and staff are under pressure.

Excellent and original Russian culinary (my wife is Russian is she told me everything was delicious). The atmosphere, although affecting a bit by the kitsch decor, is really good. The service is courteous and efficient, but the hosting at the entrance deserves some improvement.

This place serves super tasty, authentic Russian food and is located in a beautiful old county house. The food was great, and the service was decent. I had a delicious stew served in a clay pot, paired with a fantastic piece of bread. They even offered some old-fashioned Russian beer, which was a fun addition. I highly recommend checking this spot out for a unique dining experience!
Ivan K — Google review
The menu and prices suggest its a restaurant, but food presentation was more of a canteen style with two slices of thinly cut bread served with soups and ice-cream cake served on a salad plate, making it somewhat uncomfortable for the kids. We did love the pancakes, cabbage/mushroom filled pastries and the drinks though. In general, if you like novelty and feel nostalgic about the past times - it's a one-time must visit, even if it's only for the atmosphere and experience. The service was great. Considering the place was very busy (we waited 40minutes to be seated), the team was very attentive and food arrived very quickly.

The Einstein Tower, also known as Einsteinturm, is a significant landmark located in the Albert Einstein Science Park in Potsdam, Germany. Built in 1924, this expressionist building houses a large solar telescope designed to conduct experiments supporting Albert Einstein's theory of relativity. Visitors can arrange guided tours to explore the observatory and its functioning solar laboratory. Although reaching the tower requires a short hike, it offers an enriching experience for science enthusiasts and families alike.
One of the absolute highlights of German expressionism and Mendelsohn’s masterpiece, the Einsteinturm is a bit of a bike to reach, but that makes it all the more satisfying once you’ve reached the surprisingly small tower on the summit. It’s not in great shape, however, it has never really been in good shape, so points for consistency, and it is still a working lab, half buried in the ground, serving as a base for scientific knowledge secure in the hills above Potsdam. An absolute must for fans of modern architecture!

Orangery Palace, a luxurious Renaissance-style palace built between 1851 and 1864 in Potsdam's Sanssouci Park, is a must-visit destination. The palace features a lookout tower and orangery wings that are still used to store exotic plants during winter. Visitors can also explore other nearby palaces like Charlottenuhof and Sanssouci, as well as the charming Dutch Quarter with its red brick buildings dating back to the early 1700s.
I visited this historical place last summer. Visited from outside but it is one of the most beautiful architectural designs in Germany. You can sit here and enjoy a balcony view. There is a beautiful garden in front of the castle. Definitely a worth visit.

Truly the most beautiful sight I've seen in the Netherlands. Decor that you'd expect from Iberian Peninsula grand mansions. Perfect place to relax and forget about day-to-day troubles while listening to soft trickle of the fountain water and admiring bounteous flowerbed. Sadly it's being renovated atm so I couldn't step inside, but the outside still makes up for it

The Orangerieschloss is without a doubt one of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever visited. The sheer scale and elegance of its architecture make you feel as if you’ve stepped into another world. Every detail, from the grand facade to the harmonious symmetry, radiates a sense of timeless beauty. The gardens surrounding the palace are equally mesmerizing perfectly manicured, lush, and full of life. Walking through them, with the magnificent building rising behind, truly feels like being in paradise. The combination of vibrant greenery, peaceful paths, and stunning architecture creates an atmosphere that is both inspiring and deeply calming. An absolute gem in Potsdam. If you want to experience a place that feels like heaven on earth, the Orangerieschloss is it.

Great energy! Built between 1851-1864 under King Friedrich Wilhelm IV, it was designed in an Italian Renaissance style by architects Ludwig Persius, Friedrich August Stüler, and Ludwig Ferdinand Hesse. Originally intended as a winter shelter for citrus trees, it also hosted royal guests. The palace features grand halls, galleries, and lush gardens. Visitors can tour its ornately decorated rooms, including the Raphael Hall, which houses copies of famous works by Raphael. The rooftop terrace offers excellent views of Sanssouci Park.

The Orangery Palace in Potsdam is a true treasure of Prussian history - a magnificent example of Italian Renaissance architecture with imposing size and elegant colonnades. Despite the high number of visitors in peak season and the lack of accessibility, the architectural beauty is undeniable. It reflects the taste of Frederick William IV and now houses a museum that offers insights into the life and art of the 19th century.
Tilman B — Google review
The Orangery Palace has a beautiful and symmetrical design with a central pavilion and wings. Its exterior features impressive columns, statues, and a dome with a lantern on top. The palace is surrounded by stunning gardens and terraces, perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature. The gardens offer a picturesque backdrop for outdoor activities like picnics and photography. The palace's gardens are meticulously maintained and provide a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. You can explore the gardens, discover hidden pathways, and find scenic viewpoints. The palace's exterior and gardens make it a great spot for capturing Instagram-worthy photos. Visiting the Orangery Palace allows you to immerse yourself in the beauty of its architecture and the serenity of its gardens.

Nestled in the serene waters of the Havel River, Pfaueninsel, or Peacock Island, is a captivating 67-hectare nature reserve that can only be reached by ferry. This enchanting island is not just a haven for peacocks but also boasts picturesque trails perfect for leisurely strolls. As part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site that includes Potsdam's stunning landmarks, Pfaueninsel features historical significance dating back to the Iron Age and showcases remnants from its royal past.
Pfaueninsel is a very special place at the southwestern end of Berlin. To get there you need to take the 218-bus route, which is a historic double-decker taking you through the Grunewald via S Wannsee and dropping you off right in front of the ferry landing. Just be aware that the bus only leaves every 2 hours. It's also possible to walk there. I'd recommend starting at S Wannsee and follow the trail along the lake and the Havel river. At one of the machines you can buy a round trip ticket for 6€ (5€ reduced price) for the ferry, which will take you to the island. I believe they only accept card. On the island you'll quite immediately be greeted by a surprising amount of peacocks. They are comfortable around people, so you can peacefully walk among them. We were lucky to witness the males trying to impress the females with their gorgeous feathers. There were quite a few white peacocks, whose presence was extraordinary! While the island doesn't offer any other attractions in particular, I was taken aback by the silence and peacefulness. As a resident of Berlin you get used to chaos and noise, therefore being able to escape it was all I could ever ask for. You're surrounded by wonderful nature and beautiful views on the Wannsee. Besides that there's a few interesting buildings, a café (although we didn't go there as it's closed during the winter months) and sheep. I mean, do you need anything more than sheep? All in all I had a wonderful stay at Pfaueninsel and definitely consider it one of my new favorite places in Berlin. A must-visit for everyone wanting to experience a new part of the city and fellow pantheists.

Amazing getaway! We took a boat ride from Wannsee to the island — such a beautiful and peaceful experience. The views were stunning and the whole trip felt so refreshing.
Bimala M — Google review
Great place for a relaxing time for walking, sitting, animal and plants observing, photos, readings, etc. The boat ride takes literally 30 secs one way, but it's the only way to get on the island and a funny experience. The island is not big, but has its charm and worth to spend 2-3 hours. It's not particularly quite, if you're looking for a ppl getaway this might not be ideal, because it's very popular. But it wasn't too crowded either, just like a normal tourist spot and still worth a visit.

Peacock Island is a peaceful, fairytale-like escape just outside Berlin. A quick ferry ride takes you to this quiet, car-free nature reserve, home to roaming peacocks, forest trails, and a charming white palace. It’s perfect for a relaxing walk, a picnic, or a quiet day in nature. Bring snacks and enjoy the calm - no shops or cafes here. Ideal for a spring or autumn visit.
Apoorva M — Google review
Nice and quiet island near Berlin. There are a lot of peacocks free-roaming here. We were in May and during the weekday, so it was not crowded and very peaceful. The area is quite big, so be prepared to spend 2-3 hours here if you want to explore all paths. There is also a nice caffe in the middle of the island where they serve cakes and fried sausages.
Tatiana G — Google review
Peaceful park, possibly better on a weekend. We came on a Monday afternoon and enjoyed strolling through the woods and gardens. The buildings were all closed except for the gift shop and the cafe and at least one had a sign saying you could only go on in weekends. Still, it was pleasant and the buildings are interesting to look at from the outside and the peacocks were plentiful and pretty. The gardens were a little underwhelming but might be stunning if the roses were in bloom. The cafe area was idyllic with tables and chairs and a large area with benches where people picnicked or laid in the lawn. The food was advertised as being barbecue, but it was just grilled sausages. I was a little worried about the ferry schedule as there didn't seem to be one, but they just ran whenever they had enough people for it and it worked out fine. €6 for round trip ferry and entry to the island seemed fine to me. Nestled in the heart of Potsdam's Old Market Square, St. Nicholas Church (Nikolaikirche) is a stunning example of neoclassical architecture designed by Schinkel. Constructed between 1830 and 1837, this magnificent church boasts a striking dome that soars to 77 meters, making it one of the tallest structures in the area.
St. Nicholas’ Church in Potsdam is a stunning neoclassical landmark that dominates the Old Market Square. Its grand dome and elegant architecture make it a must-see for visitors. The interior is serene, with impressive frescoes and intricate details. Climbing to the dome’s viewing platform rewards you with panoramic views of the city. Rich in history, the church has been carefully restored after WWII damage, symbolizing Potsdam’s resilience and dedication to preserving its cultural heritage.

Beautiful church built in the 1830s. The dome was destroyed in WW2 and subsequently rebuilt. The entire building looks so nicely restored.
Paul T — Google review
The church combines architectural elements that resemble the Vatican and St Paul's of London, and the dome is the most striking feature of the cityscape of Potsdam. The climb up to the domed roof is via two narrow spiral staircases, not for the claustrophobic or those with mobility issues. The view from the top is breathtaking, quite literally, as it can get windy up there. It's fascinating to watch the bells ringing if you time your visit right. I wish there had been some signage indicating landmarks or points of interest that I was looking at. The murals of the prophets and apostles are impressive and there's free music played in the pipe organ. Worth the visit and the church is free although the climb up costs €5.

The prayer house really great. The classical architecture, huge dome, the grand entrance, everything is fantastic The large square is amazing. The best part is no vehicles are allowed to enter. One can thoroughly enjoy the place.

I love churches because of their architecture and defo it’s worth to visit this as well. Just beautiful from inside as well as outside. Lovely dome and €5 is nothing to pay to go up to the dome for 360 view or surrounding area.

St. Nicholas' Church is a beautiful and historic church located in the heart of Potsdam. As soon as you walk in, you'll be struck by the stunning architecture and the peaceful atmosphere. The church has a rich history, dating back to the 17th century, and it's clear that the caretakers take great pride in preserving and maintaining the building. The stained glass windows are particularly impressive, and they provide a breathtaking backdrop to the church's services. Speaking of services, St. Nicholas' Church is a welcoming and inclusive community that offers a variety of worship experiences. Whether you're looking for a traditional church service or a more contemporary experience, you'll find something that suits you here. Overall, I would highly recommend St. Nicholas' Church to anyone looking for a beautiful and meaningful worship experience in Potsdam. The church is a true gem, and it's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Exploring Jaeger Port: A Gem in Potsdam's Crown Nestled amidst the captivating landscape of Potsdam, Germany, Jaeger Port stands as a testament to the town's rich history and its enduring connection to its waterways. With a history dating back several centuries, Jaeger Port has evolved from a simple harbor to a picturesque destination that seamlessly marries tradition with modernity. This article delves into the charm and significance of Jaeger Port, exploring its historical roots, its current role, and the experiences it offers to visitors. A Historical Tapestry: Origins and Evolution The roots of Jaeger Port trace back to the early 18th century, when Potsdam was transforming under the reign of Frederick the Great, King of Prussia. The king's fascination with architecture and landscape design left an indelible mark on the town, and Jaeger Port became an integral part of this vision. Constructed in 1722 under the guidance of architect Georg Wenzeslaus von Knobelsdorff, the port initially served as a utilitarian hub for goods transportation and commerce along the Havel River. However, as Potsdam evolved into a cultural and political hub, Jaeger Port underwent a transformation of its own. Its waterfront location and accessibility to the waterways facilitated the transportation of building materials and artworks that adorned the palaces and gardens of Potsdam and nearby Berlin. Its role expanded to include a connection between the royal residences, making it a vital link in the intricate network that defined the region's cultural landscape. Architecture and Aesthetics: A Visual Delight One of the standout features of Jaeger Port is its architecture, which exemplifies the Rococo style prevalent during its construction. The port's main building, with its ornate facades, elegant curves, and symmetrical design, reflects the artistic tastes of its time. The use of white stucco, lavish decorations, and prominent archways creates a harmonious blend of architectural elements that resonate with both visitors and historians alike. As visitors approach Jaeger Port, they are greeted by a charming interplay of colors, textures, and shapes. The port's proximity to the water adds an extra layer of visual appeal, as the river's reflection dances across the building's facade. The picturesque setting is further enhanced by the surrounding landscape, with lush gardens, promenades, and pathways leading to captivating vistas. A Modern-Day Destination: Culture and Leisure While Jaeger Port's historical significance is undeniable, it has successfully embraced the demands of the modern era. Today, the port serves as a multifaceted destination that caters to both cultural enthusiasts and leisure seekers. Its interior houses a museum that chronicles the history of Potsdam, detailing its evolution from a small settlement to a pivotal player in European history. Artifacts, paintings, and interactive displays provide visitors with a comprehensive understanding of the town's past. Beyond its educational offerings, Jaeger Port also hosts events that celebrate the region's artistic heritage. Music concerts, art exhibitions, and theater performances create a vibrant cultural calendar that draws residents and tourists alike. The port's charming courtyard often transforms into an open-air venue, where visitors can immerse themselves in performances that transcend time and space. A Riverside Sojourn: Tranquility and Reflection The allure of Jaeger Port extends beyond its historical and cultural attractions. Its serene waterfront location invites visitors to partake in leisurely strolls along the riverbank, bask in the tranquility of the surrounding nature, and embark on boat tours that provide a unique perspective of Potsdam's architectural marvels. The rhythmic flow of the Havel River and the gentle rustling of leaves create a serene ambiance that encourages reflection and relaxation. Like, Mike, Book Mook

The Historic Mill of Sanssouci, located near the Sanssouci Palace in Potsdam, is a restored 18th-century windmill that offers visitors a glimpse into its milling displays on three levels. Originally built in the mid-18th century and reconstructed after being destroyed during WWII, this Dutch-style mill showcases old milling equipment and features a viewing platform on the third floor that provides stunning views of the surrounding park.
The historic mill is another charming step part of the entire Sanssouci complex. It is located very close to the palace itself and a must-see! The mill is greatly preserved and provides you with a unique glimpse into the milling traditions here! Beautiful scenery and landscapes outside and in proximity to the mill! Spend some time exploring!

It was surprisingly fun visiting the windmill, of course, partly because that was my first time being inside of one on a windy day. One can climb the stairs all the way to the outside platform of the windmill and enjoying a nice view of the surrounding areas. The windmill is in walking distance from the main schloss, and ticket to visit the windmill is included in the Schloss combi ticket. One just need to show the Schloss ticket at the entrance.

A nicely preserved wind mill just near the Sanssouci Palace. It is possible to climb up and have a beautiful view on Sanssouci park and also to see how the flouer is made. Unfortunately the stands and presentations are only in German and the interactive écrans are in English, Spanish and Polish, that is not enough as a language choice. The price is affordable (5 euros)

Stunning windmill that is still actively working. You can climb the stair to the top and stand outside on the balcony to overlook the city. At the very top you can see the cogs turning and examples of how they used the mill to grind grain. Note: the entire exhibition is in German. No other languages offered.

This windmill is very rear and a litle bit different from other palaces and gardens in Potsdam. There are several floors inside. They have little shop and there is option to buy bread, flour, books and other interesring and tasty things. This place is PRESS friendly

The lady at the reception was very thoughtfull. It was only EUR 4,00 and it was a nice experience. Immediatly I found myself in the set of the "Girl With a Pearl Earring" movie. Though there was not much furniture there, the kitchen was full of old stuff and there were the Klompen there, or those Dutch wooden shoes, for us to try. It was amazing. The structure of the house itself made us travel to the Netherlands, I mean the underground (that they used as a fridge), the attic and the backyard (full of flowers of different colors). There the servents used to work most of the time (as we see in Vermeer's paintings). Remember this was the house of the man who was commissioned (by the king of Prussia) to make an intire neighborhood out of a swamp. Simply marvelous!

Not very special but historical attraction. The Havel colonnade was completely destroyed during World War II. Both colonnades were built as part of a major project around 1745-1746, when the city palace was the residence of the Prussian king Frederick II. That time the colonnades opened a view of the amusement garden. Both colonnades had passageways for the crews of the royal court and their guests. During World War II, it was destroyed only one third of its total length and was subsequently stored elsewhere. And in 2016 It returned to the rightful place, where it stands now.

An ordinary historical attraction near our hotel. Initially, it connected the city palace with the stables and separated the entertainment area from the rest of the city. Its colleague was the Havel colonnade on the Long Bridge, which blocked free access to Lustgarten from the east. The Havel colonnade was completely destroyed during World War II. Both colonnades were built as part of a major project around 1745-1746, when the city palace was the residence of the Prussian king Frederick II. Thanks to their design, the colonnades opened a view of the amusement garden. Both colonnades had passageways for the crews of the royal court and their guests. During World War II, it was destroyed only one third of its total length and was subsequently stored elsewhere. And only in 2016 It returned to the rightful place, where it stands to this day.

Nestled near the Marble Palace, the Gothic Library Potsdam is a stunning architectural gem designed by Langhans between 1792 and 1794. This enchanting structure served as a library until World War II, when it suffered significant damage during an air raid. Thankfully, after reunification, Brandenburg's state authorities took action to preserve this historic site; it was meticulously rebuilt from the ground up.
Romantic historic library at the entrance to the historic parks and gardens.

Visited this beautiful building right at the start of this gorgeous parkland and framed by beautiful lake. It's like something out of a fairytale! At first impression I thought it was a folly with its stunning ornamentation but realised it's more practical than that as it being a library! Absolutely fantastic experience and suitable for all ages especially young children to explore. An impressive building in this beautiful park in Potsdam.

Museum Alexandrowka is a 19th-century heritage village in Potsdam, built between 1826 and 1827 by King Friedrich Wilhelm III. This UNESCO-protected site features 13 wooden houses that offer a glimpse into Russian colonial life. The museum within one of the buildings showcases the history of the colony. Visitors can explore the village and enjoy traditional Russian cuisine at a restaurant housed in one of the buildings.
Very nice place walking distance from city centre. Unfortunately closed and will open in March. Google was not informing about ... Anyhow, the contrast in architecture is amazing. Would love to visit again in summer time.

I didn't see inside of the museum but this is a very cute little village in Potsdam. The lady at Berlin tourist info recommended it, and it turned out we were staying close by so we just give it a try. And found out she was wrong, this place is not nice, it's gorgeous! We loved the Russian type little houses, it suddenly gets you to somewhere else, you should visit for sure. Not five stars because I don't know what's inside the museum so don't want to make a false impression.

Located in Potsdam, the Hans Otto Theater is a major cultural hub offering a diverse program of plays, musicals, operas, and ballet performances. The theater's new building on the Schiffbauerdamm has been hosting shows since 2006, while the rococo theatre in the Neues Palais continues to showcase its historic charm from the 18th century. Visitors can also explore contemporary architecture at the Nikolaisaal Potsdam concert hall.
Really exotic building exterior, but it's actually really great, they even have a board telling you when the nearest public transport arrives. The show was nice, but it would be better if the back seats also had a back and weren't just cushions. They also provide you with blankets but if you get cold easily and your show is late then you should probably also bring a coat.

(Translated by Google) The performance was "Galileo." The theater is cute and beautifully designed! You can see well from all seats, even short people can see over the person in front of you. The seats and the space are really tight (I'm short!). Aside from the actors' performance, it was minimalistic, or rather, there were almost no sets, and it was rarely immediately obvious which role (there were multiple roles, and actors sometimes announced their role changes during the performance) was currently on stage. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it, and I'm not sure if I'll try another play again.

(Translated by Google) I had an interesting evening at what was, in itself, a nice and charming theater, and the prices were reasonable. The service at the bar was surprisingly quick and efficient. However, everything else went wrong. At the ticket counter, someone in our group who uses a wheelchair was initially assigned a seat that wasn't accessible – okay, these things happen, and it was corrected. But what bothered me even more was that drinks were only available in non-returnable glass bottles, and you weren't allowed to bring your own inside. This wasn't mentioned anywhere until you tried it. Yes, glass might be better for the environment, and yes, the seats and the area underneath would certainly be difficult to clean, and yes, it might be prohibited in other theaters. Nevertheless, it wasn't very visitor-friendly. There were also hardly any trash cans in the building.

Peacock Island, also known as Pfaueninsel, is a UNESCO World Heritage site located in the middle of the Havel river. The island is home to an 18th-century royal castle and is inhabited by colorful peacocks, which gave it its name. Visitors can explore the 114-hectare Babelsberg Park and admire the Flatow Tower, once used as a guesthouse by Kaiser Wilhelm.
I enjoyed spending my Saturday on this beautiful island. To get there, you need to buy a ferry ticket for 6 euros. Once you arrive, you can walk around the island, see unique wildlife, and dine at the only restaurant available. Be sure to take the same ferry back before 6:00 PM.

Such a serene, peaceful place. Though we went on a weekend in October, the bright sun on a cold day made it a pleasant experience. There’s a small cafe inside which sells coffee, tea, cakes and pastries. Great place for a picnic day out with friends and family.
Asha G — Google review
The island itself is nice and quite small – I spent about an hour walking around. Entry and ferry rides cost a total of 6€. The peacocks are really beautiful. Tickets can be pre-purchased online or onsite (machines, with credit card. No cash). If I were rating just the island, I’d give it 4 stars. However, I’m deducting 2 stars due to the horrible experience getting there. Considering it’s a sightseeing destination, there should be more buses running, especially during high season. There are no seats at all while waiting for the delayed buses, so you’re left standing in the sun. I had to wait about 45 minutes from S-Wannsee to reach the island, then another 20mins on the dock (in the sun, no seats and very badly indicated), then another 1 hour and 20 minutes to catch the ferry, and the bus back was also very crowded and uncomfortable. Overall, not worth the long wait times and overcrowded transport. I thought it could be a nice day trip to take visitors to, but for me it was a one-time visit and I wouldn’t go again.
L S — Google review
It is a normal park with peacocks. Specified area for peacock and birds. Peacocks are not in the whole park. They charged 6€ only for few seconds ride(only 50 seconds may be). To get to the peacock island. Which is not worth it.

Pfaueninsel – A Serene Day Trip to Nature and History Pfaueninsel (Peacock Island) in Potsdam is a truly beautiful and peaceful escape, surrounded by lush forests and serene waters. The entire island is a nature lover’s paradise, and I was deeply impressed by its natural charm and thoughtful design. What makes this island even more magical is the presence of freely roaming peacocks. I was lucky enough to see them up close, including a stunning white peacock. It was a unique and memorable experience, as they wander the island undisturbed. I explored almost the entire island and discovered there are around ten noteworthy spots to visit. It's a hidden gem that's perfect for a relaxed and scenic day trip from Berlin. If you're planning a visit from Berlin, I recommend taking the S-Bahn to Wannsee Station. From there, you can catch Bus 218, which runs every 30 minutes (typically at :21 and :51 past the hour), directly to the ferry dock. The return bus from the island also departs at regular intervals, usually every 30 minutes. The short ferry ride to the island costs €6 per person (round trip). Pfaueninsel is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, adding historical significance to its natural beauty. Whether you're a nature enthusiast or simply looking for a peaceful retreat from the city, this island is a must-visit. Note: The last ferry departs at 6:00 PM, so plan your visit accordingly to make the most of your time.
Ankit D — Google review
The entrance is 6eur, basically you buy a ticket which will then allow you on a small boat that takes you to the island. There much to see so your 6 eur is well spent. The highliat is really the peacocks themselves. Huge birds, biggest I've seen are reared here.

Nice place to spend half day with lots of walking.. better to take some food and mat with you make some kind of picnic with kids..
Srikanth K — Google review
They could add more Cafes or restaurants to the place. We found only one on the island. Fair bit of walking around. Saw quite a few peahens though, but no peacock sadly. Good place to take kids along. Mine tried to chase a few of them in the meadows, but naturally they kept running ahead 😁 With a few Table-tennis tables, beach volleyball courts, etc. the place can have more options to offer to a family to spend half a day at the place. As of now, it has good walking trails and a huge ground where we played some frisbee 🥏. Good picnic spot as well.

The Roman Baths is a fantastic historical landmark in the city of Bath, England. The baths were built by Emperor Constantine the Great in AD312 and are one of the most famous tourist destinations in the country. The complex consists of several pavilions, gardens and pergolas, making it a wonderful place to spend a morning or afternoon. The baths also have a museum which is well worth visiting for anyone interested in history.
Roman Baths is a beautiful and ancient villa. It's a nice place where you can see a small garden and pond behind the villa.

This is the most beautiful, cozy and interesting historical villa that I have ever seen. If I lived at that time in past with my current tastes, or if I lived somewhere on an island in a warm climate, I would like just such a villa. Not more, not richer, but exactly this one. It's beautiful with everything ... except, perhaps, the one that it's old. It has a very beautiful appearance and structure. Entrance through the grape arch, several stairs upstairs, a courtyard with a fountain, a small house that can be used for storage some things and garden supplies. And there is access to the big pond of park. Inside, on the ground floor, the bathhouse itself. Small but cozy, and several statues. On the second floor there is a small museum, instead of which I could make a small living room. Although, in fact, there is nothing to do here, besides this small museum, I highly recommend to visit and look at this unusual place
Alexandr O — Google review
It has never been a bath. The Roman Bath was styled after ancient villas. Together with a small tea pavilion, modelled on temples of classical antiquity they form a complex of buildings tied together by arcades.

I didn’t take many pictures of the place, sorry But i can recommend it. It’s a beautiful place with a beautiful garden. I saw from other reviews that there is a museum inside the building and apparently it’s nice. Muschelgrotte, located on the banks of Jungernsee, is an artificial grotto built between 1791 and 1794 for King Friedrich Wilhelm II. Although not accessible as of August 2020, it has become a sought-after location for weddings and events since 2018.
Peculiar structure, as if an underground hall. From the palace you cannot see this. The structure becomes apparent when you go near the jungfersee. The interior seems to be deteriorating, one cannot enter though.

Kaiserin Augusta Stift, originally established by Augusta von Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, was created to provide education and support for orphaned daughters of aristocrats, officers, pastors, and government officials. In 1902, it moved to a newly constructed building in Potsdam. The foundation could accommodate up to 80 girls at a time until 1945. From then until 1991, the site served as the German headquarters of Soviet military counterintelligence.

Historical landmark
Nestled quietly near the Gaussstrasse tram stop, Jagdschloss Stern is a hidden gem that offers visitors an enchanting escape. This charming hunting lodge, built between 1730 and 1732 by King Frederick William II, showcases stunning architecture inspired by Dutch designs. Set on the edge of a picturesque park, it provides a serene atmosphere where one can appreciate its well-preserved beauty amidst modern surroundings.
(Translated by Google) Today we went to the Stern hunting lodge, which is unfortunately only open on certain days of the year. The opening will then be organized by the relevant support association. The club also provided a nice lady for a short, interesting tour. There was also home-baked cake and coffee in the garden for free. We were pleasantly surprised. Next Saturday, September 16th is open again. It's worth it.

(Translated by Google) Everything used to be better :) 30 years ago there was a beer garden every day in summer and a hearty game restaurant in winter. Almost dead today, except for a handful of events a year. Like everything that has to do with nature and history in Potsdam... look at it, but don't touch it or use it sensibly. As a result, people completely lose interest and reference to the past and the preservation of nature (Original) Früher war alles besser :) vor 30 jahren noch gabs im Sommer jeden Tag Biergarten und im Winter deftiges Wildrestaurant.

(Translated by Google) The Stern hunting lodge is hidden and quiet near the Gaußstraße tram stop. It is absolutely idyllically located on the edge of a small park. A visitor would hardly expect such a beautiful and well-preserved castle to be in a prefabricated building area. Anyone who “gets lost” here will be rewarded with a great ambience and unique impressions and play of colors. (Original) Das Jagdschloss Stern liegt versteckt und ruhig in der Nähe der Tramhaltestelle Gaußstraße. Es ist absolut idyllisch gelegen am Rande einer kleinen Parkanlage. (Translated by Google) The Stern hunting lodge, which the soldier king was the only castle to have built from scratch between 1730 and 1732 based on the Dutch model, could also be located in the Dutch Quarter in downtown Potsdam. This is where Friedrich Wilhelm I once indulged in his hobby of battue hunting (par force hunting). Next door you can see the castellan house, which once housed the administrators, as well as a historic oven. After the destruction of the city palace, the hunting lodge at Stern is the oldest surviving palace in Potsdam. Nearby, vehicles rush along the A115, and high-rise residential buildings can also be seen in the background. You need a little imagination to imagine the scenery during the time of Friedrich Wilhelm I, but it is still a very beautiful and special place. The old saying applies to the castle itself: small but beautiful. With this in mind: Have fun on your visit to the Stern hunting lodge.

Here, he built his own small hunting lodge. Hunting was his great hobby. It is the oldest palace in Potsdam. And it is very well preserved, thanks to the Förderverein Jagdschoss Stern - Parforheide e.V. (Friends of the Hunting Lodge Stern - Parforheide e.V.) Events also take place here, such as the bread oven, where fresh bread was baked in the old days. Or hike through the Parforheide. Register and learn a lot about the Jagdschoss and the hunting grounds. It can be reached by tram in 20 minutes. A walk well worth the effort. The opening of the Jagdschoss am Stern season will take place on Sunday, April 23rd. 11 events will take place this year, 2023. Historical place
Nestled amidst lush greenery, the Pyramide is a captivating structure that exudes an antique charm. While it may be slightly hidden and not the easiest to access for photographs, its allure is undeniable. This fascinating edifice was constructed by A.L. Kruger and Carl Gotthard Langhans and served a unique purpose as a cold storage facility.
It looks antique and interesting. Hidden in bushes a bit, not an easiest access for photo, but still nice. The story behind is astonishing. Built by Kruger and Carl Gotthard Langhans, the pyramid with its hieroglyphic wall decorations served as a cold store. In winter, ice was stored here from the Holy Lake so that the 2 square meter cold room could cool the food brought in all year round.
Alek K — Google review
I wish there was a plaque or a sign that explained what this is. (I now understand that it was used as a fridge in the past) Plus, a description of the letters carved outside the pyramid and the opportunity of entering and experience the interior of the pyramid would have been nice.

One of the most curious structures in the New Garden is definitely the pyramid. It was built by A.L. Krüger und Carl Gotthard  Langhans. It was used as a "refrigerator". In winter, ice from the lake was stored here so that the 2 square meter cooling room could cool the food brought in all year round.

Schloss Lindstedt is not open for visits, but it boasts a charming little garden ideal for leisurely strolls and relaxation. Located about a 15-minute walk from the New Palace and approximately half an hour from Sanssouci Palace, the castle's garden is lovingly maintained and offers a serene atmosphere, especially at sunset. Originally intended as a retirement residence for Friedrich Wilhelm IV, the estate was once owned by the von Bulow family (Loriot).
Lovely old building and garden that anyone can visit free of charge. Downside is, you can't go inside!

(Translated by Google) I passed there again by chance, so I needed orientation and stuff. 😉 I'm not necessarily a fan of old castles, but I have to say I found it very nice there and then had to take a walk through this beautiful garden. Lovingly prepared and maintained. At sunset it looks even more beautiful. The garden is open until dusk and if you are nearby just pop in. It's a beautiful place to stay for a while. 🙂
